আল মাউন (ক্ষুদ্র সহযোগিতা): আল্লাহ এই সূরাতে কয়েকটি বিষয়ে আলোকপাত করেছেন। তিনি দুর্ভোগের কথা বলেছেন, যারা অভাবগ্রস্ত /মিসকিনদের খাদ্য দেয় না, সালাত/নামাজে অমনোযোগী ও শুধু লোক দেখানোর জন্য তা করে, আর অন্যদের ছোট ছোট সাহায্য করা থেকেও বিরত থাকে তাদের।

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم أرأيت الذي يكذب بالدين
Hilali & Muhsin Khan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Have you seen him who denies the Recompense?

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Hast thou observed him who belieth religion ?

أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ
Arabic
فذلك الذي يدع اليتيم

That is he who repulses the orphan (harshly),

That is he who repelleth the orphan,

فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ
Arabic
ولا يحض على طعام المسكين

And urges not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor),

And urgeth not the feeding of the needy.

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ

فويل للمصلين

So woe unto those performers of Salat (prayers) (hypocrites),

Ah, woe unto worshippers

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ

الذين هم عن صلاتهم ساهون

Those who delay their Salat (prayer from their stated fixed times).

Who are heedless of their prayer;

Those who do good deeds only to be seen (of men),

ويمنعون الماعون

And prevent Al-Ma'un (small kindnesses like salt, sugar, water).
