About this chapter
এই সূরাতে মক্কা বিজয়ের পর বিধর্মীরা যে দলে দলে ইসলাম গ্রহণ করছিলো তা উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। ইসলামের এ বিজয়ের ফলে রাসূলুল্লাহ্ (সা:)-এর দুনিয়ায় অবস্থানের প্রয়োজনও যথার্ত প্রমাণিত। বিশিষ্ট সাহাবীগণ এই সূরা নাযিল হওয়ার পর পর রাসূলুল্লাহ্ (সা:)-এর ওফাত/ আল্লাহের নিকট নিকটবর্তী বলিয়া বুঝিতে পেরেছিলেন ।
এই সূরা মক্কায় বিদায় হজ্জের সময় অবতীর্ণ হয়েছিল; অনেকের মতে যে সমস্ত সূরা হিজরতের পরে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে সেগুলো স্থান নির্বিশেষে মাদানী সূরা, সেই অর্থে এই সূরাও মাদানী।

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم إذا جاء نصر الله والفتح

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. When there comes the Help of Allah (to you, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم against your enemies) and the conquest (of Makkah).
Pickthall
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. When Allah's succour and the triumph cometh

ورأيت الناس يدخلون في دين الله أفواجا
Hilali & Muhsin Khan
And you see that the people enter Allah's religion (Islam) in crowds.
Pickthall
And thou seest mankind entering the religion of Allah in troops,

فسبح بحمد ربك واستغفره ۚ إنه كان توابا
Hilali & Muhsin Khan
So glorify the Praises of your Lord, and ask His Forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and Who forgives.
Pickthall
Then hymn the praises of thy Lord, and seek forgiveness of Him. Lo! He is ever ready to show mercy.
