1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant ?

Transliteration

1 Alam tara kayfa faAAala rabbuka biashabi alfeeli

2 Did He not bring their stratagem to naught,

Transliteration

2 Alam yajAAal kaydahum fee tadleelin

Pickthall

3 And send against them swarms of flying creatures,

Transliteration

3 Waarsala AAalayhim tayran ababeela

Pickthall

4 Which pelted them with stones of baked clay,

Transliteration

4 Tarmeehim bihijaratin min sijjeelin

Pickthall

5 And made them like green crops devoured (by cattle) ?

Transliteration

5 FajaAAalahum kaAAasfin makoolin
