Chapter 53, 62 verses
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. By the Star when it setteth,
Waalnnajmi itha hawa
ভাবো তারকার কথা, যখন তা অস্ত যায়!
وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ
Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived;
Ma dalla sahibukum wama ghawa
তোমাদের সঙ্গী দোষ - ত্রুটি করেন না, আর তিনি বিপথেও যান না,
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ
Nor doth he speak of (his own) desire.
Wama yantiqu AAani alhawa
আর তিনি ইচ্ছামত কোনো কথা বলেন না।
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ
It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired,
In huwa illa wahyun yooha
এইখানা প্রত্যাদিষ্ট হওয়া প্রত্যাদেশবাণী বৈ তো নয়, - -
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌ يُوحَىٰ
Which one of mighty powers hath taught him,
AAallamahu shadeedu alquwa
তাঁকে শিখিয়েছেন বিরাট শক্তিমান - -
عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰ
One vigorous; and he grew clear to view
Thoo mirratin faistawa
বলবীর্যের অধিকারী। কাজেই তিনি পরিপূর্ণতায় পৌঁছলেন।
ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَٱسْتَوَىٰ
When he was on the uppermost horizon.
Wahuwa bialofuqi alaAAla
আর তিনি রয়েছেন ঊর্ধ্ব দিগন্তে।
وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
Then he drew nigh and came down
Thumma dana fatadalla
তারপর তিনি সন্নিকটে এলেন, অতঃপর তিনি অবনত করলেন,
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ
Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer,
Fakana qaba qawsayni aw adna
তখন তিনি দুই ধনুকের ব্যবধানে রইলেন, অথবা আরও কাছে।
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ
And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed.
Faawha ila AAabdihi ma awha
তখন তিনি তাঁর বান্দার কাছে প্রত্যাদেশ করলেন যা তিনি প্রত্যাদেশ করেন।
فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰ
The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw.
Ma kathaba alfuadu ma raa
হৃদয় অস্বীকার করে নি যা তিনি দেখেছিলেন তাতে।
مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ
Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he seeth ?
Afatumaroonahu AAala ma yara
তোমরা কি তবে তাঁর সঙ্গে বিতর্ক করবে যা তিনি দেখেছেন সে - সন্বন্ধে?
أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ
And verily he saw him yet another time
Walaqad raahu nazlatan okhra
আর তিনি নিশ্চয়ই তাঁকে দেখেছিলেন অন্য এক অবতরণে - -
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ
By the lote - tree of the utmost boundary,
AAinda sidrati almuntaha
দূরদিগন্তের সিদরাহ্ - গাছের কাছে,
عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ
Nigh unto which is the Garden of Abode.
AAindaha jannatu almawa
তার কাছে আছে চির - উপভোগ্য উদ্যান।
عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ
When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote - tree,
Ith yaghsha alssidrata ma yaghsha
দেখো! যা আচ্ছাদন করে তা ঢেকে দিয়েছিল সিদরাহ্ - গাছকে,
إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ
The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold.
Ma zagha albasaru wama tagha
দৃষ্টি বিভ্রান্ত হয় নি এবং তা সীমা ছাড়িয়েও যায় নি।
مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ
Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord.
Laqad raa min ayati rabbihi alkubra
তিনি নিশ্চয়ই তাঁর প্রভুর শ্রেষ্ঠ নিদর্শনগুলোর মধ্যে চেয়ে দেখেছিলেন।
لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ
Have ye thought upon Al - Lat and Al - 'Uzza
Afaraaytumu allata waalAAuzza
তোমরা কি তবে ভেবে দেখেছ লাত ও 'উযযা,
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰ
And Manat, the third, the other ?
Wamanata alththalithata alokhra
এবং মানাত, - - তৃতীয় আরেকটি?
وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ
Are yours the males and His the females ?
Alakumu alththakaru walahu alontha
তোমাদের জন্য পুত্রসন্তান আর তাঁর জন্য কন্যা!
أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ
That indeed were an unfair division!
Tilka ithan qismatun deeza
এ তো বড়ই অসংগত বন্টন!
تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزَىٰٓ
They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them.
In hiya illa asmaon sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma anzala Allahu biha min sultanin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wama tahwa alanfusu walaqad jaahum min rabbihimu alhuda
তারা নামাবলী বৈ তো নয়, যা তোমরা নামকরণ করেছ - - তোমরা ও তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষরা, যাদের জন্য কোনো সনদ পাঠান নি। তারা তো শুধু অনুমানের এবং যা তাদের অন্তর কামনা করে তারই অনুসরণ করে। অথচ তাদের প্রভুর কাছ থেকে তাদের কাছে পথনির্দেশ অবশ্যই এসে গেছে।
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْ
Or shall man have what he coveteth ?
Am lilinsani ma tamanna
অথবা মানুষের জন্য কি তাই থাকবে যা সে কামনা করে?
أَمْ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ
But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former.
Falillahi alakhiratu waaloola
কিন্ত শেষটা তো র, আর প্রথমটাও।
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةُ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
And how many angels are in the heavens whose intercession availeth naught save after Allah giveth leave to whom He chooseth and accepteth.
Wakam min malakin fee alssamawati la tughnee shafaAAatuhum shayan illa min baAAdi an yathana Allahu liman yashao wayarda
আর মহাকাশমন্ডলে কত যে ফিরিশ্তা রয়েছে যাদের সুপারিশ কোনো কাজে আসবে না যতক্ষণ না অনুমতি দেন তার জন্য যাকে তিনি ইচ্ছা করেন ও তিনি সন্তষ্ট হয়েছেন।
وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ
Lo! it is those who disbelieve in the Hereafter who name the angels with the names of females.
Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati layusammoona almalaikata tasmiyata alontha
নিঃসন্দেহ যারা পরকালে বিশ্বাস করে না তারা ফিরিশ্তাদের নাম দেয় মেয়েদের নামে।
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ
And they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and lo! a guess can never take the place of the truth.
Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wainna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan
আর এ বিষয়ে তাদের কোনো জ্ঞান নেই। তারা তো অনুমানেরই অনুসরণ করছে, আর নিঃসন্দেহ সত্যের বিরুদ্ধে অনুমানে কোনো লাভ হয় না।
وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا
Then withdraw (O Muhammad) from him who fleeth from Our remembrance and desireth but the life of the world.
FaaAArid AAan man tawalla AAan thikrina walam yurid illa alhayata alddunya
সেজন্য তাকে উপেক্ষা করো যে আমাদের উপদেশ থেকে ফিরে যায় আর দুনিয়ার জীবন ছাড়া আর কিছু চায় না।
فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
Such is their sum of knowledge. Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth, and He is Best Aware of him whom goeth right.
Thalika mablaghuhum mina alAAilmi inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bimani ihtada
এইটিই তাদের জ্ঞানের শেষসীমা। নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু - - তিনিই ভাল জানেন তাকে যে তার পথ থেকে ভ্রষ্ট হয়েছে, আর তিনিই ভাল জানেন যে সৎপথপ্রাপ্ত।
ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ
And unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, that He may reward those who do evil with that which they have done, and reward those who do good with goodness.
Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi liyajziya allatheena asaoo bima AAamiloo wayajziya allatheena ahsanoo bialhusna
আর মহাকাশমন্ডলে যা - কিছু আছে এবং যা - কিছু আছে পৃথিবীতে তা রই, যেন যারা মন্দ কাজ করেছে তাদের তিনি প্রতিফল দিতে পারেন যা তারা করেছে সেজন্য, আর যারা সৎকাজ করেছে তাদের তিনি ভালভাবে প্রতিদান দিতে পারেন।
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ بِٱلْحُسْنَى
Those who avoid enormities of sin and abominations, save the unwilled offences - (for them) lo! thy Lord is of vast mercy. He is Best Aware of you (from the time) when He created you from the earth, and when ye were hidden in the bellies of your mothers. Therefor ascribe not purity unto yourselves. He is Best Aware of him who wardeth off (evil).
Allatheena yajtaniboona kabaira alithmi waalfawahisha illa allamama inna rabbaka wasiAAu almaghfirati huwa aAAlamu bikum ith anshaakum mina alardi waith antum ajinnatun fee butooni ommahatikum fala tuzakkoo anfusakum huwa aAAlamu bimani ittaqa
যারা বর্জন করে বড় বড় পাপাচার ও অশ্লীল কাজ - - মুখোমুখি হওয়া ভিন্ন - - তোমার প্রভু পরিত্রাণে নিশ্চয়ই অপরিসীম। তিনি তোমাদের ভালো জানেন যখন থেকে তিনি তোমাদের সৃষ্টির সূচনা করেছেন মাটি থেকে, আর যখন তোমরা ছিলে তোমাদের মায়ের পেটে ভ্রণরূপে। অতএব তোমরা তোমাদের নিজেদের গুণগান করো না। তিনিই ভালো জানেন তাকে যে ধর্মভীরুতা অবলন্বন করে।
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّه
Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away,
Afaraayta allathee tawalla
তুমি কি তবে তাকে দেখেছ যে ফিরে যায়,
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ
And gave a little, then was grudging ?
WaaAAta qaleelan waakda
আর যৎসামান্য দান করে এবং নির্দয়তা দেখায়?
وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَىٰٓ
Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth ?
aAAindahu AAilmu alghaybi fahuwa yara
তার কাছে কি সম্পর্কে জ্ঞান রয়েছে ফলে সে দেখত পাচ্ছে?
أَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓ
Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses
Am lam yunabba bima fee suhufi moosa
অথবা তাকে কি সংবাদ দেওয়া হয় নি মূসার গ্রন্থে যা আছে সে - সন্বন্ধে,
أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِى صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ
And Abraham who paid his debt:
Waibraheema allathee waffa
এবং ইব্রাহীম সন্বন্ধে যিনি সম্পূর্ণরূপে প্রতিপালন করেছিলেন - -
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِى وَفَّىٰٓ
That no laden one shall bear another's load,
Alla taziru waziratun wizra okhra
যথা কোনো ভারবাহী অন্যের বোঝা বহন করবে না,
أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ
And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort,
Waan laysa lilinsani illa ma saAAa
আর এই যে মানুষের জন্য কিছুই থাকবে না যার জন্য সে চেষ্টা না ক’রে,
وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ
And that his effort will be seen.
Waanna saAAyahu sawfa yura
আর এই যে, তার প্রচেষ্টা অচিরেই দৃষ্টিগোচর হবে,
وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُۥ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ
And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment;
Thumma yujzahu aljazaa alawfa
তারপর তাকে প্রতিদান দেওয়া হবে পরিপূর্ণ প্রতিদানে,
ثُمَّ يُجْزَىٰهُ ٱلْجَزَآءَ ٱلْأَوْفَىٰ
And that thy Lord, He is the goal;
Waanna ila rabbika almuntaha
আর এই যে, তোমার প্রভুর দিকেই হচ্ছে শেষ - সীমা,
وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ
And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep,
Waannahu huwa adhaka waabka
আর এই যে, তিনিই হাসান আর তিনিই কাঁদান,
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ
And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life;
Waannahu huwa amata waahya
আর এই যে, তিনিই মারেন ও তিনিই বাঁচান।
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا
And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female,
Waannahu khalaqa alzzawjayni alththakara waalontha
আর এই যে, তিনিই সৃষ্টি করেছেন জোড়ায় - জোড়ায় নর ও নারী, - -
وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰ
From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth;
Min nutfatin itha tumna
শুক্রকীট থেকে যখন তাকে বিন্যাস করা হয়,
مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ
And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth;
Waanna AAalayhi alnnashata alokhra
আর এই যে, তাঁর উপরেই রয়েছে পুনরায় উত্থানের দায়িত্ব,
وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ
And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth;
Waannahu huwa aghna waaqna
আর এই যে, তিনিই ধনদৌলত দেন ও সুখ - সমৃদ্ধি প্রদান করেন,
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ
And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius;
Waannahu huwa rabbu alshshiAAra
আর এই যে, তিনিই শি'রা নক্ষত্রের প্রভু,
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعْرَىٰ
And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad,
Waannahu ahlaka AAadan aloola
আর এই যে, তিনিই ধ্বংস করেছিলেন প্রাচীনকালের 'আদ - জাতিকে,
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ
And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not;
Wathamooda fama abqa
আর ছামূদ - জাতিও, তাই তিনি বাকী রাখেন নি,
وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ
And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious;
Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanoo hum athlama waatgha
আর নূহ - এর লোকদলও এর আগে। নিঃসন্দেহ তারা ছিল - - তারাই তো ছিল অত্যন্ত অত্যাচারী ও বেজায় অবাধ্য।
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ
And Al - Mu'tafikah He destroyed
Waalmutafikata ahwa
আর উলটে ফেলা শহরগুলো - - তিনি ধ্বংস করেছিলেন,
وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ
So that there covered them that which did cover.
Faghashshaha ma ghashsha
ফলে তাদের তিনি ঢেকে দিয়েছিলেন যা ঢেকে দেয়।
فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ
Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute ?
Fabiayyi alai rabbika tatamara
অতএব তোমার প্রভুর কোন অনুগ্রহ সম্পর্কে তুমি বাদানুবাদ করবে?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ
This is a warner of the warners of old.
Hatha natheerun mina alnnuthuri aloola
প্রাচীনকালের সতর্ককারীদের মধ্যে থেকে ইনি হচ্ছেন একজন সতর্ককারী।
هَٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
The threatened Hour is nigh.
Azifati alazifatu
আসন্ন ঘটনা সমাগত,
أَزِفَتِ ٱلْءَازِفَةُ
None beside Allah can disclose it.
Laysa laha min dooni Allahi kashifatun
এটি দূর করবার মতো ছাড়া আর কেউ নেই।
لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ
Marvel ye then at this statement,
Afamin hatha alhadeethi taAAjaboona
এই বিবৃতিতে তোমরা কি তাজ্জব হচ্ছ?
أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ
And laugh and not weep,
Watadhakoona wala tabkoona
আর তোমরা কি হাসছ, তোমরা কি আর কাঁদবে না?
وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ
While ye amuse yourselves ?
Waantum samidoona
আর তোমরা তো হেলাফেলা করছ।
وَأَنتُمْ سَٰمِدُونَ
Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him.
Faosjudoo lillahi waoAAbudoo
অতএব র প্রতি সিজদা করো এবং উপাসনা করো।
فَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱعْبُدُوا۟
