In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them.

Saheeh International

Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment."

Arabic, with marks

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

নূহকে আমি প্রেরণ করিয়াছিলাম তাহার সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি এই নির্দেশসহ : তুমি তোমার সম্প্রদায়কে সতর্ক কর তাহাদের প্রতি মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি আসিবার পূর্বে।

Pickthall

He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you

Saheeh International

He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner,

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

সে বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমার সম্প্রদায় ! আমি তো তোমাদের জন্য স্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী -

Pickthall

(Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me,

Saheeh International

[Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me.

Arabic, with marks

أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘এই বিষয়ে যে, ‘তোমরা ‌র ‘ইবাদত কর ও তাঁহাকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর ;

Pickthall

That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew.

Saheeh International

Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' "

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

‘তিনি তোমাদের পাপ ক্ষমা করিবেন এবং তিনি তোমাদেরকে অবকাশ দিবেন এক নির্দিষ্টকাল পর্যন্ত। নিশ্চয় ‌ কর্তৃক নির্ধারিত কাল উপস্থিত হইলে উহা বিলম্বিত হয় না; যদি তোমরা ইহা জানিতে !’

Pickthall

He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day

Saheeh International

He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.

Arabic, with marks

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

সে বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! আমি তো আমার সম্প্রদায়কে দিবারাত্রি আহ্বান করিয়াছি,

Pickthall

But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance;

Saheeh International

But my invitation increased them not except in flight.

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا

‘কিন্তু আমার আহবান উহাদের পলায়ন প্রবণতাই বৃদ্ধি করিয়াছে।

Pickthall

And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride.

Saheeh International

And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance.

وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘আমি যখনই উহাদেরকে আহ্বান করি যাহাতে তুমি উহাদেরকে ক্ষমা কর, উহারা কানে অঙ্গুলী দেয়, বস্ত্রাবৃত করে নিজেদেরকে ও জিদ করিতে থাকে এবং অতিশয় ঔদ্ধত্য প্রকাশ করে।

Pickthall

And lo! I have called unto them aloud,

Saheeh International

Then I invited them publicly.

ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘অতঃপর আমি উহাদেরকে আহ্বান করিয়াছি প্রকাশ্যে,

Pickthall

And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private.

Saheeh International

Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly

Arabic, with marks

ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘পরে আমি উচ্চৈঃস্বরে প্রচার করিয়াছি ও উপদেশ দিয়াছি গোপনে।’

Pickthall

And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving.

Saheeh International

And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.

Arabic, with marks

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

বলিয়াছি, ‘তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা কর, তিনি তো মহাক্ষমাশীল,

Pickthall

He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain,

Saheeh International

He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers

Arabic, with marks

يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘তিনি তোমাদের জন্য প্রচুর বৃষ্টিপাত করিবেন,

Pickthall

And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers.

Saheeh International

And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.

وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘তিনি তোমাদেরকে সমৃদ্ধ করিবেন ধন - সম্পদ ও সন্তান - সন্ততিতে এবং তোমাদের জন্য স্থাপন করিবেন উদ্যান ও প্রবাহিত করিবেন নদী - নালা।

Pickthall

What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity

Saheeh International

What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur

Arabic, with marks

مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘তোমাদের কি হইয়াছে যে, তোমরা ‌র শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব স্বীকার করিতে চাহিতেছ না !

Pickthall

When He created you by (divers) stages ?

Saheeh International

While He has created you in stages?

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘অথচ তিনিই তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন পর্যায়ক্রমে,

Pickthall

See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony,

Saheeh International

Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers

Arabic, with marks

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا

‘তোমরা কি লক্ষ্য কর নাই, ‌ কিভাবে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন স্বপ্তস্তরে বিন্যস্ত আকাশমন্ডলী ?

Pickthall

And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp ?

Saheeh International

And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?

Arabic, with marks

وَجَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘এবং সেখানে চন্দ্রকে স্থাপন করিয়াছেন আলোরূপে ও সূর্যকে স্থাপন করিয়াছেন প্রদীপরূপে ;

Pickthall

And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth,

Saheeh International

And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth.

وَاللَّهُ أَنبَتَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘তিনি তোমাদেরকে উদ্ভূত করিয়াছেন মৃত্তিকা হইতে;

Pickthall

And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing.

Saheeh International

Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction.

Arabic, with marks

ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا

‘অতঃপর উহাতে তিনি তোমাদেরকে প্রত্যাবৃত্ত করিবেন ও পরে পুনরুত্থিত করিবেন,

Pickthall

And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you

Saheeh International

And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse

Arabic, with marks

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘এবং ‌ তোমাদের জন্য ভূমিকে করিয়াছেন বিস্তৃত -

Pickthall

That ye may thread the valley - ways thereof.

Saheeh International

That you may follow therein roads of passage.' "

لِّتَسْلُكُوا مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘যাহাতে তোমরা চলাফেরা করিতে পার প্রশস্ত পথে।’

Pickthall

Noah said: My Lord! Lo! they have disobeyed me and followed one whose wealth and children increase him in naught save ruin;

Saheeh International

Noah said, "My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss.

Arabic, with marks

قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِي وَاتَّبَعُوا مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلَّا خَسَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

নূহ্ বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! আমার সম্প্রদায় তো আমাকে অমান্য করিয়াছে এবং অনুসরণ করিয়াছে এমন লোকের যাহার ধন - সম্পদ ও সন্তান - সন্ততি তাহার ক্ষতি ব্যতীত আর কিছুই বৃদ্ধি করে নাই।’

Pickthall

And they have plotted a mighty plot,

Saheeh International

And they conspired an immense conspiracy.

وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

আর উহারা ভয়ানক ষড়যন্ত্র করিয়াছিল;

Pickthall

And they have said: Forsake not your gods. Forsake not Wadd, nor Suwa', nor Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr.

Saheeh International

And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa' or Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr.

Arabic, with marks

وَقَالُوا لَا تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

এবং বলিয়াছিল, ‘তোমরা কখনও পরিত্যাগ করিও না তোমাদের দেব - দেবীকে; পরিত্যাগ করিও না ওয়াদ্, সুওয়া‘আ, ইয়াগূছ, ইয়া‘ঊক ও নাস্‌রকে।

Pickthall

And they have led many astray, and Thou increasest the wrong - doers in naught save error.

Saheeh International

And already they have misled many. And, [my Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error."

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَالًا

‘উহারা অনেককে বিভ্রান্ত করিয়াছে; সুতরাং জালিমদের বিভ্রান্তি ব্যতীত আর কিছুই বৃদ্ধি করিও না।’

Pickthall

Because of their sins they were drowned, then made to enter a Fire. And they found they had no helpers in place of Allah.

Saheeh International

Because of their sins they were drowned and put into the Fire, and they found not for themselves besides Allah [any] helpers.

مِّمَّا خَطِيئَاتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا فَأُدْخِلُوا نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنصَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

উহাদের অপরাধের জন্য উহাদেরকে নিমজ্জিত করা হইয়াছিল এবং পরে উহাদেরকে দাখিল করা হইয়াছিল দোযখে, অতঃপর উহারা কাহাকেও ‌র মুকাবিলায় পায় নাই সাহায্যকারী।

Pickthall

And Noah said: My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers in the land.

Saheeh International

And Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant.

Arabic, with marks

وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ دَيَّارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

নূহ্ আরও বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! পৃথিবীতে কাফিরগণের মধ্য হইতে কোন গৃহবাসীকে অব্যাহতি দিও না।

Pickthall

If Thou shouldst leave them, they will mislead Thy slaves and will beget none save lewd ingrates.

Saheeh International

Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] .

Arabic, with marks

إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوا إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘তুমি উহাদেরকে অব্যাহতি দিলে উহারা তোমার বান্দাদেরকে পথভ্রষ্ট করিবে এবং জন্ম দিতে থাকিবে কেবল দুষ্কৃতিকারী ও ।

Pickthall

My Lord! Forgive me and my parents and him who entereth my house believing, and believing men and believing women, and increase not the wrong - doers in aught save ruin.

Saheeh International

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction."

رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا

ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন

‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! তুমি ক্ষমা কর আমাকে, আমার পিতামাতাকে এবং যাহারা হইয়া আমার গৃহে প্রবেশ করে তাহাদেরকে এবং পুরুষ ও নারীদেরকে ; আর জালিমদের শুধু ধ্বংসই বৃদ্ধি কর।’
