Chapter 26, 227 verses
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Ta. Sin. Mim.
Ta. Sin. Mim.
ত্ব-সীন-মীম।
طسٓمٓ
These are revelations of the Scripture that maketh plain.
These are verses of the Book that makes (things) clear.
এগুলো সুস্পষ্ট কিতাবের আয়াত।
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not.
It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers.
তারা হবে না বলে হয়ত তুমি আত্মবিনাশী হয়ে পড়বে।
لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
If We will, We can send down on them from the sky a portent so that their necks would remain bowed before it.
If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.
আমি ইচ্ছা করলে আসমান থেকে তাদের উপর এমন নিদর্শন অবতীর্ণ করতাম ফলে তার প্রতি তাদের ঘাড়গুলো নত হয়ে যেত।
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ
Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it.
But there comes not to them a newly - revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom.
আর যখনই তাদের কাছে পরম করুণাময়ের পক্ষ থেকে কোন নতুন উপদেশ আসে তখনই তারা তা থেকে বিমুখ হয়।
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff.
They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon (enough) the truth of what they mocked at!
অতএব অবশ্যই তারা অস্বীকার করেছে। কাজেই তারা যা নিয়ে ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রূপ করত, তার সংবাদ অচিরেই তাদের কাছে এসে পড়বে।
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein ?
Do they not look at the earth, - how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein?
তারা কি যমীনের প্রতি লক্ষ করেনি? আমি তাতে প্রত্যেক প্রকারের বহু উৎকৃষ্ট উদ্ভিদ উদগত করেছি।
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers.
Verily, in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
নিশ্চয় এতে আছে নিদর্শন, আর তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব, তিনি তো মহা পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk,
Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity, -
আর স্মরণ কর, যখন তোমার রব মূসাকে ডেকে বললেন, ‘তুমি যালিম সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে যাও’।
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil) ?
"The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?"
‘ফির‘আউনের সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে। তারা কি ভয় করবে না’?
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me,
He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood:
মূসা বলল, ‘হে আমার রব, আমি অবশ্যই আশঙ্কা করছি যে, তারা আমাকে অস্বীকার করবে’।
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me).
"My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron.
‘আর আমার বক্ষ সঙ্কুচিত হয়ে যাচ্ছে। আমার জিহবা চলছে না। সুতরাং আপনি হারুনের প্রতি ওহী পাঠান’।
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ
And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me.
"And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me."
‘আর আমার বিরুদ্ধে তাদের কাছে একটি অপরাধের অভিযোগ রয়েছে। ফলে আমি আশঙ্কা করছি যে, তারা আমাকে হত্যা করে ফেলবে’।
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing.
Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call).
বললেন, ‘কখনো নয়। তোমরা উভয়ে আমার নিদর্শনাদিসহ যাও। অবশ্যই আমি আছি তোমাদের সাথে শ্রবণকারী’।
قَالَ كَلَّا فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds,
"So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds;
‘সুতরাং তোমরা উভয়ে ফির‘আউনের কাছে গিয়ে বল, নিশ্চয় আমরা বিশ্বজগতের রবের রাসূল’।
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
(Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us.
"'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'"
‘যাতে তুমি বনী ইসরাঈলকে আমাদের সাথে পাঠাও’।
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
(Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child ? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us,
(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life?
ফির‘আউন বলল, ‘আমরা কি তোমাকে শৈশবে আমাদের মাঝে লালন পালন করিনি? আর তুমি তোমার জীবনের অনেক বছর আমাদের মধ্যে অবস্থান করেছ’।
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates.
"And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!"
‘আর তুমি তোমার কর্ম যা করার তা করেছ এবং তুমি অকৃতজ্ঞদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত’।
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray.
Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error.
মূসা বলল, ‘আমি এটি তখন করেছিলাম, যখন আমি ছিলাম বিভ্রান্ত’।
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him).
"So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers.
‘অতঃপর যখন আমি তোমাদেরকে ভয় করলাম, তখন আমি তোমাদের থেকে পালিয়ে গেলাম। তারপর আমার রব আমাকে প্রজ্ঞা দান করলেন এবং আমাকে রাসূলদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করলেন’।
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel.
"And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me, - that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!"
‘আর এই তো সে অনুগ্রহ যার খোঁটা তুমি আমাকে দিচ্ছ যে, তুমি বনী ইসরাঈলকে দাস বানিয়ে রেখেছ’।
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds ?
Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?"
ফির‘আউন বলল, ‘সৃষ্টিকুলের রব কে?’
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
(Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief.
(Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between, - if ye want to be quite sure."
মূসা বলল, ‘আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন এবং এতদোভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর রব, যদি তোমরা নিশ্চিত হয়ে থাক।’
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
(Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not ?
(Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?"
ফির‘আউন তার আশেপাশে যারা ছিল তাদেরকে বলল, ‘তোমরা কি মনোযোগসহ শুনছ না’?
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers.
(Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!"
মূসা বলল, ‘তিনি তোমাদের রব এবং তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরও রব’।
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
(Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman!
(Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!"
ফির‘আউন বলল, ‘তোমাদের কাছে প্রেরিত তোমাদের এই রাসূল নিশ্চয়ই পাগল’।
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ
He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand.
(Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!"
মূসা বলল, ‘তিনি পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম এবং এতদোভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর রব, যদি তোমরা বুঝে থাক’।
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
(Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners.
(Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!"
ফির‘আউন বলল, ‘যদি তুমি আমাকে ছাড়া কাউকে ইলাহরূপে গ্রহণ কর, তাহলে অবশ্যই আমি তোমাকে কয়েদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করব’।
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
He said: Even though I show thee something plain ?
(Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?"
মূসা বলল, ‘যদি আমি তোমার কাছে স্পষ্ট কোন বিষয় নিয়ে আসি, তবুও’?
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ
(Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful!
(Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!"
ফির‘আউন বলল, ‘তুমি সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকলে তা নিয়ে এসো’।
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest,
So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!
অতঃপর সে তার লাঠি ফেলে দিল, ফলে তৎক্ষণাৎ তা একটি স্পষ্ট অজগর হয়ে গেল।
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders.
And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders!
আর সে তার হাত বের করল, ফলে তা তৎক্ষণাৎ দর্শকদের সামনে উজ্জ্বল-সাদা হয়ে দেখা দিল।
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
(Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard,
(Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well - versed:
ফির‘আউন তার আশপাশের পারিষদদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলল, ‘এ তো এক বিজ্ঞ যাদুকর।’
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
Who would drive you out of your land by his magic. Now what counsel ye ?
"His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?"
‘সে তোমাদেরকে তার যাদুর মাধ্যমে তোমাদের দেশ থেকে বের করতে চায়। অতএব, তোমরা আমাকে কী পরামর্শ দাও?’
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
They said: Put him off, (him) and his brother, and send into the cities summoners
They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect -
তারা বলল, ‘তাকে ও তার ভাইকে কিছু সময়ের জন্য অবকাশ দাও, আর সংগ্রহকারীদেরকে নগরে-নগরে পাঠিয়ে দাও।’
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard.
"And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well - versed."
‘তারা তোমার নিকট প্রত্যেক বিজ্ঞ যাদুকরকে নিয়ে আসুক’।
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ
So the wizards were gathered together at a set time on a day appointed.
So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well - known,
অতঃপর এক নির্ধারিত দিনের নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে যাদুকরদের একত্র করা হল।
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
And it was said unto the people: Are ye (also) gathering ?
And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled? -
আর লোকদের বলা হল, ‘তোমরা কি সমবেত হবে?’
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
(They said): Aye, so that we may follow the wizards if they are the winners.
"That we may follow the sorcerers (in religion) if they win?"
‘যাতে আমরা যাদুকরদের অনুসরণ করতে পারি, যদি তারা বিজয়ী হয়’।
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
And when the wizards came they said unto Pharaoh: Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners ?
So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win?
অতঃপর যখন যাদুকররা আসল,তারা ফির‘আউনকে বলল,‘যদি আমরাই বিজয়ী হই, তবে আমাদের জন্য কি সত্যিই পুরস্কার আছে?’
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
He said: Aye, and ye will then surely be of those brought near (to me).
He said: "Yea, (and more), - for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)."
সে বলল, ‘হ্যাঁ এবং নিশ্চয় তোমরা তখন আমার ঘনিষ্টজনদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবে’।
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
Moses said unto them: Throw what ye are going to throw!
Moses said to them: "Throw ye - that which ye are about to throw!"
মূসা তাদের বলল, ‘তোমরা যা নিক্ষেপ করার তা নিক্ষেপ কর’।
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
Then they threw down their cords and their staves and said: By Pharaoh's might, lo! we verily are the winners.
So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!"
অতঃপর তারা তাদের রশি ও লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করল এবং বলল, ‘ফির‘আউনের মর্যাদার কসম! অবশ্যই আমরা বিজয়ী হব।’
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
Then Moses threw his staff and lo! it swallowed that which they did falsely show.
Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake!
তারপর মূসা তার লাঠি ফেলল, ফলে তৎক্ষণাৎ তা তাদের মিথ্যা প্রদর্শনীগুলো গ্রাস করে ফেলল।
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
And the wizards were flung prostrate,
Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration,
ফলে যাদুকররা সিজদাবনত হয়ে পড়ল।
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
তারা বলল, ‘আমরা ঈমান আনলাম সকল সৃষ্টির রবের প্রতি’।
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
The Lord of Moses and Aaron.
"The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
‘মূসা ও হারুনের রব’।
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
(Pharaoh) said: Ye put your faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he doubtless is your chief who taught you magic! But verily ye shall come to know. Verily I will cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and verily I will crucify you every one.
Said (Pharaoh): "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? surely he is your leader, who has taught you sorcery! but soon shall ye know! Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross!"
ফির‘আউন বলল, ‘আমি তোমাদেরকে অনুমতি দেয়ার পূর্বেই তোমরা তার প্রতি ঈমান আনলে? নিশ্চয় সে তোমাদের গুরু যে তোমাদের যাদু শিক্ষা দিয়েছে। অতএব অচিরেই তোমরা জানতে পারবে। আমি অবশ্যই তোমাদের হাতসমূহ ও তোমাদের পাসমূহ বিপরীত দিক থেকে কেটে ফেলব এবং অবশ্যই তোমাদের সকলকে
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
They said: It is no hurt, for lo! unto our Lord we shall return.
They said: "No matter! for us, we shall but return to our Lord!
তারা বলল, ‘কোন ক্ষতি নেই তাতে। অবশ্যই আমরা তো আমাদের রবের দিকেই ফিরে যাব।’
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
Lo! we ardently hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we are the first of the believers.
"Only, our desire is that our Lord will forgive us our faults, that we may become foremost among the believers!"
‘আমরা আশা করি যে, আমাদের রব আমাদের অপরাধসমূহ ক্ষমা করে দেবেন, কারণ আমরা মুমিনদের মধ্যে প্রথম।’
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night, for ye will be pursued.
By inspiration we told Moses: "Travel by night with my servants; for surely ye shall be pursued."
আর আমি মূসার প্রতি এ মর্মে ওহী পাঠিয়েছিলাম যে, ‘আমার বান্দাদের নিয়ে রাত্রিকালে যাত্রা শুরু কর, নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের পিছু নেয়া হবে।’
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
Then Pharaoh sent into the cities summoners,
Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities,
অতঃপর ফির‘আউন নগরে- নগরে একত্রকারীদেরকে পাঠাল।
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
(Who said): Lo! these indeed are but a little troop,
(Saying): "These (Israelites) are but a small band,
‘নিশ্চয়ই এরা তো ক্ষুদ্র একটি দল।’
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ
And lo! they are offenders against us.
"And they are raging furiously against us;
‘আর এরা অবশ্যই আমাদের ক্রোধের উদ্রেক ঘটিয়েছে।’
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
And lo! we are a ready host.
"But we are a multitude amply fore - warned."
‘আর আমরা সবাই তো যথেষ্ট সতর্ক।’
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ
Thus did We take them away from gardens and watersprings,
So We expelled them from gardens, springs,
তারপর আমি তাদেরকে উদ্যানমালা ও ঝর্ণাধারাসমূহ থেকে বের করে আনলাম।
فَأَخْرَجْنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
And treasures and a fair estate.
Treasures, and every kind of honourable position;
আর ধনভান্ডার ও মর্যাদাপূর্ণ অবস্থান থেকে।
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
Thus (were those things taken from them) and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them.
Thus it was, but We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things.
এরূপই এবং আমি বনী ইসরাঈলকে এসবের ওয়ারিস বানিয়েছিলাম।
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
And they overtook them at sunrise.
So they pursued them at sunrise.
তারপর তারা সূর্যোদয়ের প্রাক্কালে তাদের পিছু নিল।
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
And when the two hosts saw each other, those with Moses said: Lo! we are indeed caught.
And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken."
অতঃপর যখন উভয় দল পরস্পরকে দেখল, তখন মূসার সাথীরা বলল, অবশ্যই ‘আমরা ধরা পড়ে গেলাম!’
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me.
(Moses) said: "By no means! my Lord is with me! Soon will He guide me!"
মূসা বলল, ‘কক্ষনো নয়; আমার সাথে আমার রব রয়েছেন। নিশ্চয় অচিরেই তিনি আমাকে পথনির্দেশ দেবেন’।
قَالَ كَلَّآ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast.
Then We told Moses by inspiration: "Strike the sea with thy rod." So it divided, and each separate part became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain.
অতঃপর আমি মূসার প্রতি ওহী পাঠালাম, ‘তোমার লাঠি দ্বারা সমুদ্রে আঘাত কর।’ ফলে তা বিভক্ত হয়ে গেল। তারপর প্রত্যেক ভাগ বিশাল পাহাড়সদৃশ হয়ে গেল।
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
Then brought We near the others to that place.
And We made the other party approach thither.
আর আমি অপর দলটিকে সেই জায়গায় নিকটবর্তী করলাম,
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
And We saved Moses and those with him, every one;
We delivered Moses and all who were with him;
আর আমি মূসা ও তার সাথে যারা ছিল সকলকে উদ্ধার করলাম,
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
And We drowned the others.
But We drowned the others.
তারপর অপর দলটিকে ডুবিয়ে দিলাম।
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
নিশ্চয় এর মধ্যে রয়েছে নিদর্শন। আর তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব তো মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Recite unto them the story of Abraham:
And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story.
আর তুমি তাদের নিকট ইবরাহীমের ঘটনা বর্ণনা কর,
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye ?
Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?"
যখন সে তার পিতা ও তার কওমকে বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা কিসের ইবাদাত কর?’
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them.
They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them."
তারা বলল, ‘আমরা মূর্তির পূজা করি। অতঃপর এগুলোর পূজায় আমরা নিষ্ঠার সাথে রত থাকি’।
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ
He said: Do they hear you when ye cry ?
He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?"
সে বলল, ‘যখন তোমরা ডাক তখন তারা কি তোমাদের সে ডাক শুনতে পায়?’
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
Or do they benefit or harm you ?
"Or do you good or harm?"
‘অথবা তারা কি তোমাদের উপকার কিংবা ক্ষতি করতে পারে’?
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise.
They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)."
তারা বলল, ‘বরং আমরা আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের পেয়েছি, তারা এরূপই করত’।
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
He said: See now that which ye worship,
He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping, -
ইবরাহীম বলল, ‘তোমরা কি তাদের সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ, তোমরা যাদের পূজা কর’।
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
Ye and your forefathers!
"Ye and your fathers before you? -
‘তোমরা এবং তোমাদের অতীত পিতৃপুরুষেরা?’
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds,
"For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds;
‘সকল সৃষ্টির রব ছাড়া অবশ্যই তারা আমার শত্রু’।
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Who created me, and He doth guide me,
"Who created me, and it is He Who guides me;
‘যিনি আমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। অতঃপর তিনিই আমাকে হিদায়াত দিয়েছেন।’
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
And Who feedeth me and watereth me.
"Who gives me food and drink,
‘আর যিনি আমাকে খাওয়ান এবং পান করান’।
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
And when I sicken, then He healeth me,
"And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me;
‘আর যখন আমি অসুস্থ হই, তখন যিনি আমাকে আরোগ্য করেন’।
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again),
"Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again);
‘আর যিনি আমার মৃত্যু ঘটাবেন তারপর আমাকে জীবিত করবেন’।
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment.
"And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment.
‘আর যিনি আশা করি, বিচার দিবসে আমার ত্রুটি-বিচ্যুতি ক্ষমা করে দেবেন’।
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous.
"O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;
‘হে আমার রব, আমাকে প্রজ্ঞা দান করুন এবং আমাকে সৎকর্মশীলদের সাথে শামিল করে দিন’।
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
And give unto me a good report in later generations.
"Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);
‘এবং পরবর্তীদের মধ্যে আমার সুনাম-সুখ্যাতি অব্যাহত রাখুন’,
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight,
"Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss;
‘আর আপনি আমাকে সুখময় জান্নাতের ওয়ারিসদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করুন’।
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err.
"Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray;
‘আর আমার পিতাকে ক্ষমা করুন; নিশ্চয় সে পথভ্রষ্টদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল’।
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
And abase me not on the day when they are raised,
"And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up; -
‘আর যেদিন পুনরুত্থিত করা হবে সেদিন আমাকে লাঞ্ছিত করবেন না’।
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man)
"The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,
‘যেদিন ধন-সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততি কোন উপকারে আসবে না’।
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart.
"But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart;
‘তবে যে আল্লাহর কাছে আসবে সুস্থ অন্তরে’।
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil).
"To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near,
আর মুত্তাকীদের জন্য জান্নাত নিকটবর্তী করা হবে,
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
And hell will appear plainly to the erring.
"And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view;
এবং পথভ্রষ্টকারীদের জন্য জাহান্নাম উন্মোচিত করা হবে।
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship
"And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped -
আর তাদেরকে বলা হবে, ‘তারা কোথায় যাদের তোমরা ইবাদাত করতে’?
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
Instead of Allah ? Can they help you or help themselves ?
"'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?'
ছাড়া? তারা কি তোমাদেরকে সাহায্য করছে, না নিজেদের সাহায্য করতে পারছে?
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers
"Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire), - they and those straying in Evil,
অতঃপর তাদেরকে এবং পথভ্রষ্টকারীদেরকে উপুড় করে জাহান্নামে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে,
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
And the hosts of Iblis, together.
"And the whole hosts of Iblis together.
আর ইবলীসের সকল সৈন্যবাহিনীকে।
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein:
"They will say there in their mutual bickerings:
সেখানে পরস্পর ঝগড়া করতে গিয়ে তারা বলবে,
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest
"'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest,
আল্লাহর কসম! আমরা তো সুস্পষ্ট পথভ্রষ্টতায় নিমজ্জিত ছিলাম',
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds.
"'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds;
‘যখন আমরা তোমাদেরকে সকল সৃষ্টির রবের সমকক্ষ বানাতাম’।
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
It was but the guilty who misled us.
"'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt.
‘আর অপরাধীরাই শুধু আমাদেরকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেছিল’;
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
Now we have no intercessors
"'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us),
‘অতএব, আমাদের কোন সুপারিশকারী নেই’।
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ
Nor any loving friend.
"'Nor a single friend to feel (for us).
‘এবং কোন অন্তরঙ্গ বন্ধুও নেই’।
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ
Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers!
"'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'"
‘হায়, আমাদের যদি আরেকটি সুযোগ হত, তবে আমরা মুমিনদের অর্ন্তভুক্ত হতাম’।
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers!
Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe.
নিশ্চয় এতে রয়েছে নিদর্শন, আর তাদের অধিকাংশ নয়।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব, তিনি তো মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Noah's folk denied the messengers (of Allah),
The people of Noah rejected the messengers.
নূহ-এর কওম রাসূলদেরকে অস্বীকার করেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
When their brother Noah said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
Behold, their brother Noah said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
যখন তাদের ভাই নূহ তাদেরকে বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা কি তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করবে না’?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust:
‘নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের জন্য একজন বিশ্বস্ত রাসূল’।
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
‘সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds:
‘আর এর উপর আমি তোমাদের কাছে কোন পারিশ্রমিক চাই না; আমার প্রতিদান শুধু সৃষ্টিকুলের রবের নিকট’।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
"So fear Allah, and obey me."
‘সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
They said: Shall we put faith in thee, when the lowest (of the people) follow thee ?
They said: "Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?"
‘তারা বলল, ‘আমরা কি তোমার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করব, অথচ নিম্নশ্রেণীর লোকেরা তোমাকে অনুসরণ করছে’?
قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
He said: And what knowledge have I of what they may have been doing (in the past) ?
He said: "And what do I know as to what they do?
নূহ বলল, ‘তারা কি করে তা আমার কী প্রয়োজন’?
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Lo! their reckoning is my Lord's concern, if ye but knew;
"Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand.
‘তাদের হিসাব গ্রহণ তো কেবল আমার রবের দায়িত্বে, যদি তোমরা জানতে’।
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
And I am not (here) to repulse believers.
"I am not one to drive away those who believe.
‘আর আমি তো মুমিনদেরকে তাড়িয়ে দেয়ার নই’।
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
I am only a plain warner.
"I am sent only to warn plainly in public."
‘আমি তো কেবল সুস্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী’।
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
They said: If thou cease not, O Noah, thou wilt surely be among those stoned (to death).
They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)."
তারা বলল, ‘হে নূহ, তুমি যদি বিরত না হও তবে অবশ্যই তুমি প্রস্তরাঘাতে নিহতদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবে’।
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
He said: My Lord! Lo! my own folk deny me.
He said: "O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me.
নূহ বলল, ‘হে আমার রব, আমার কওম আমাকে অস্বীকার করেছে’;
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
Therefor judge Thou between us, a (conclusive) judgment, and save me and those believers who are with me.
"Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me."
‘সুতরাং আপনি আমার ও তাদের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করে দিন আর আমাকে ও আমার সাথে যেসব , আছে তাদেরকে রক্ষা করুন’।
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.
So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures).
অতঃপর আমি তাকে এবং তার সাথে যারা বোঝাই নৌকায় ছিল তাদেরকে নাজাত দিলাম।
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
Then afterward We drowned the others.
Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind.
তারপর বাকীদের ডুবিয়ে দিলাম।
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
নিশ্চয় এতে রয়েছে নিদর্শন, আর তাদের বেশীর ভাগ ছিল না।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo, thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব, তিনি তো মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah).
The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers.
‘আদ জাতি রাসূলগণকে অস্বীকার করেছিল,
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
যখন তাদের ভাই হূদ তাদেরকে বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা কি তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করবে না’?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust:
‘নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের জন্য একজন বিশ্বস্ত রাসূল’।
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
"So fear Allah and obey me.
‘সুতরাং আল্লাহর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
‘আর এর উপর আমি তোমাদের কাছে কোন পারিশ্রমিক চাই না; আমার প্রতিদান কেবল সৃষ্টিকুলের রবের নিকট’।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight ?
"Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves?
‘তোমরা কি প্রতিটি উঁচু স্থানে বেহুদা স্তম্ভ নির্মাণ করছ’?
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ
And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever ?
"And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)?
‘আর তোমরা সুদৃঢ় প্রাসাদ নির্মাণ করছ, যেন তোমরা স্থায়ী হবে’।
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants ?
"And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power?
‘আর তোমরা যখন কাউকে পাকড়াও কর, পাকড়াও কর স্বেচ্ছাচারী হয়ে’।
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
"Now fear Allah, and obey me.
‘সুতরাং আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমাকে অনুসরণ কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know,
"Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know.
আর তাঁকে ভয় কর যিনি তোমাদেরকে সাহায্য করেছেন এমন কিছু দিয়ে, যা তোমরা জান'।
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Hath aided you with cattle and sons.
"Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons, -
‘তিনি তোমাদেরকে সাহায্য করেছেন চতুষ্পদ জন্তু ও সন্তান-সন্ততি দ্বারা’,
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ
And gardens and watersprings.
"And Gardens and Springs.
‘আর উদ্যান ও ঝর্ণা দ্বারা’।
وَجَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day.
"Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day."
‘নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের উপর এক মহাদিবসের আযাবের ভয় করছি’।
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach;
They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers!
তারা বলল, ‘তুমি আমাদের উপদেশ দাও অথবা না দাও, উভয়ই আমাদের জন্য সমান’।
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
This is but a fable of the men of old,
"This is no other than a customary device of the ancients,
‘এটি তো পূর্ববর্তীদেরই চরিত্র,।
إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
And we shall not be doomed.
"And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!"
‘আর আমরা আযাবপ্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হব না’।
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
অতঃপর তারা তাকে অস্বীকার করল, ফলে তাদেরকে আমি ধ্বংস করে দিলাম; নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে। আর তাদের অধিকাংশ ছিল না।
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব তিনি মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah)
The Thamud (people) rejected the messengers.
সামূদ জাতি রাসুলদেরকে অস্বীকার করেছিল,
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
When their brother Salih said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)?
যখন তাদের ভাই সালিহ তাদেরকে বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা কি তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করবে না’?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.
‘নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের জন্য এক বিশ্বস্ত রাসূল’;
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
‘সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
‘আর এর উপর আমি তোমাদের কাছে কোন পারিশ্রমিক চাই না; আমার প্রতিদান কেবল সৃষ্টিকুলের রবের নিকট’।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us,
"Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here? -
‘তোমাদেরকে কি এখানে যা আছে তাতে নিরাপদে ছেড়ে দেয়া হবে’?
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
In gardens and watersprings.
"Gardens and Springs,
‘উদ্যান ও ঝর্ণায়’,
فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
And tilled fields and heavy - sheathed palm - trees,
"And corn - fields and date - palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)?
‘আর ক্ষেত-খামার ও কোমল শীষবিশিষ্ট খেজুর বাগানে’?
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ
Though ye hew out dwellings in the mountain, being skilful ?
"And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill.
‘আর তোমরা নৈপুণ্যের সাথে পাহাড় কেটে বাড়ী নির্মাণ করছ’।
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَٰرِهِينَ
Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me,
"But fear Allah and obey me;
‘সুতরাং আল্লাহর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
And obey not the command of the prodigal,
"And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant, -
‘এবং সীমালংঘনকারীদের নির্দেশের আনুগত্য করো না’-
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not.
"Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)."
‘যারা পৃথিবীতে ফাসাদ সৃষ্টি করে এবং শান্তি স্থাপন করে না’।
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched;
They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
তারা বলল, ‘তুমিতো যাদুগ্রস্তদের একজন।
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
Thou art but a mortal like us. So bring some token if thou art of the truthful.
"Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!"
‘তুমি তো কেবল আমাদের মত মানুষ, সুতরাং তুমি যদি সত্যবাদী হও তবে কোন নিদর্শন নিয়ে এসো’।
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
He said: (Behold) this she - camel. She hath the right to drink (at the well), and ye have the right to drink, (each) on an appointed day.
He said: "Here is a she - camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed.
সালিহ বলল, ‘এটি একটি উষ্ট্রী; তার জন্য পানি পানের পালা একদিন আর তোমাদের পানি পানের পালা আরেক নির্দিষ্ট দিনে’।
قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
And touch her not with ill lest there come on you the retribution of an awful day.
"Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you."
‘আর তোমরা তাকে কোন অনিষ্ট কিছু করো না; যদি কর তবে এক মহাদিবসের আযাব তোমাদেরকে পেয়ে বসবে’।
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent.
But they ham - strung her: then did they become full of regrets.
অতঃপর তারা সেটি জবেহ করল; ফলে তারা অনুতপ্ত হল।
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَٰدِمِينَ
So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
অতএব আযাব তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করল, নিশ্চয়ই এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে, আর তাদের অধিকাংশ ছিল না।
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব, তিনি তো মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু্।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah),
The people of Lut rejected the messengers.
লূতের সম্প্রদায় রাসূলদেরকে অস্বীকার করেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
যখন তাদেরকে তাদের ভাই লূত বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা কি তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করবে না’?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.
‘নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের জন্য এক বিশ্বস্ত রাসূল’।
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
"So fear Allah and obey me.
‘সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

‘আর আমি এর উপর তোমাদের নিকট কোন প্রতিদান চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান কেবল সৃষ্টিকুলের রবের নিকট’।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males,
"Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males,
‘সৃষ্টিকুলের মধ্যে তোমরা কি কেবল পুরুষদের সাথে উপগত হও’?
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And leave the wives your Lord created for you ? Nay, but ye are froward folk.
"And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!"
‘আর তোমাদের রব তোমাদের জন্য যে স্ত্রীদের সৃষ্টি করেছেন তাদেরকে তোমরা ত্যাগ কর, বরং তোমরা এক সীমালংঘনকারী সম্প্রদায়’।
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast.
They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!"
তারা বলল, ‘হে লূত, তুমি যদি বিরত না হও, তাহলে তুমি অবশ্যই বহিস্কৃতদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবে’।
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct.
He said: "I do detest your doings."
লূত বলল, ‘নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের কাজকে ঘৃণা করি’।
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do.
"O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!"
‘হে আমার রব, তারা যা করছে, তা থেকে আমাকে ও আমার পরিবার-পরিজনকে তুমি রক্ষা কর’।
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
So We saved him and his household, every one,
So We delivered him and his family, - all
অতঃপর আমি তাকে ও তার পরিবার-পরিজন সবাইকে রক্ষা করলাম।
فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
Save an old woman among those who stayed behind.
Except an old woman who lingered behind.
পেছনে অবস্থানকারিণী এক বৃদ্ধা ছাড়া।
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
Then afterward We destroyed the others.
But the rest We destroyed utterly.
তারপর অন্যদেরকে আমি ধ্বংস করে দিলাম।
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.
We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!
আর আমি তাদের উপর শিলাবৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করলাম। সুতরাং সেই বৃষ্টি ভয় প্রদর্শিতদের জন্য কতইনা মন্দ ছিল!
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
নিশ্চয় এতে এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে। আর তাদের অধিকাংশই ছিল না।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব, তিনি তো মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah),
The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers.
আইকার অধিবাসীরা রাসূলদেরকে অস্বীকার করেছিল।
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
যখন শু‘আইব তাদেরকে বলল, ‘তোমরা কি তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করবে না’?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.
‘নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের জন্য এক বিশ্বস্ত রাসূল’।
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

"So fear Allah and obey me.
‘সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
‘আর আমি এর উপর তোমাদের নিকট কোন প্রতিদান চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান কেবল সৃষ্টিকুলের রবের নিকট’।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due).
"Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud).
‘মাপ পূর্ণ করে দাও এবং যারা মাপে ঘাটতি করে, তোমরা তাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ো না’।
أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
And weigh with the true balance.
"And weigh with scales true and upright.
‘আর সঠিক দাঁড়ি পাল্লায় ওজন কর’।
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth.
"And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief.
আর লোকদেরকে তাদের প্রাপ্যবস্তু কম দিও না এবং যমীনে ফাসাদ সৃষ্টি করো না'।
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old.
"And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)"
‘যিনি তোমাদেরকে ও পূর্ববর্তী প্রজন্মসমূহকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তাঁর তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর’।
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched;
They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
তারা বলল, ‘তুমি তো কেবল যাদুগ্রস্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত’।
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars.
"Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar!
‘তুমি কেবল আমাদের মত একজন মানুষ। আর আমরা তোমাকে অবশ্যই মিথ্যাবাদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত বলে মনে করি’।
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful.
"Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!"
‘অতএব, তুমি যদি সত্যবাদী হও, তবে আসমান থেকে এক টুকরো আমাদের উপর ফেলে দাও’।
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do.
He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do."
সে বলল, ‘তোমরা যা কর, সে সম্পর্কে আমার রব অধিক জ্ঞাত’।
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day.
But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day.
অতঃপর তারা তাকে অস্বীকার করল। ফলে তাদেরকে এক মেঘাচ্ছন্ন দিবসের আযাব পাকড়াও করল। অবশ্যই তা ছিল এক মহা দিবসের আযাব।
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers.
Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
নিশ্চয় এতে অনেক নিদর্শন রয়েছে। আর তাদের অধিকাংশই ছিল না।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব তিনি তো মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds,
Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds:
আর নিশ্চয় এ কুরআন সৃষ্টিকুলের রবেরই নাযিলকৃত।
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Which the True Spirit hath brought down
With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth -
বিশ্বস্ত আত্মা* এটা নিয়ে অবতরণ করেছে। * এখানে 'বিশ্বস্ত আত্মা'দ্বারা জিবরীল (আ:) কে বুঝানো হয়েছে।
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners,
To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish.
তোমার হৃদয়ে, যাতে তুমি সতর্ককারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হও।
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
In plain Arabic speech.
In the perspicuous Arabic tongue.
সুস্পষ্ট আরবী ভাষায়।
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ
And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old.
Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples.
আর অবশ্যই তা রয়েছে পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবসমূহে।
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it ?
Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?
এটা কি তাদের জন্য একটি নিদর্শন নয় যে, বনী ইসরাঈলের পন্ডিতগণ তা জানে?
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs,
Had We revealed it to any of the non - Arabs,
আর আমি যদি এটাকে কোন অনারবের প্রতি নাযিল করতাম।
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it.
And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it.
অতঃপর সে তা তাদের নিকট পাঠ করত। তবুও তারা এতে হত না।
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty.
Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners.
এভাবেই আমি বিষয়টি অপরাধীদের অন্তরে সঞ্চার করেছি।
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom,
They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty;
যতক্ষণ না তারা যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, ততক্ষণ পর্যন্ত তারা এতে ঈমান আনবে না।
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not.
But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;
সুতরাং তা আকস্মিকভাবে তাদের নিকট এসে পড়বে, অথচ তারা উপলদ্ধি করতে পারবে না।
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved ?
Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?"
তখন তারা বলবে, ‘আমাদেরকে কি অবকাশ দেয়া হবে?’
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
Would they (now) hasten on Our doom ?
Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on?
তাহলে কি তারা আমার আযাব ত্বরান্বিত করতে চায়?
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years,
Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years,
তুমি কি লক্ষ্য করেছ, আমি যদি তাদেরকে দীর্ঘকাল ভোগ-বিলাসের সুযোগ দিতাম।
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
And then cometh that which they were promised,
Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised!
অতঃপর তাদেরকে যে বিষয়ে ওয়াদা করা হয়েছে, তা তাদের নিকট এসে পড়ত,
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
(How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them ?
It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)!
তখন যা তাদের ভোগ-বিলাসের জন্য দেয়া হয়েছিল, তা তাদের কোনই কাজে আসত না।
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
And We destroyed no township but it had its warners
Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners -
আর আমি এমন কোন জনপদকে ধ্বংস করিনি, যাতে কোন সতর্ককারী আসেনি।
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
For reminder, for We never were oppressors.
By way of reminder; and We never are unjust.
এটা উপদেশস্বরূপ; আর আমি যালিমদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিলাম না।
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
The devils did not bring it down.
No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation):
আর শয়তানরা তা নিয়ে অবতরণ করেনি।
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power,
It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it).
আর এটা তাদের জন্য উচিৎ নয় এবং তারা এর ক্ষমতাও রাখে না।
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing.
Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it.
নিশ্চয়ই তাদেরকে এর শ্রবণ থেকে আড়ালে রাখা হয়েছে।
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed.
So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty.
অতএব, তুমি আল্লাহর সাথে অন্য কোন ইলাহকে ডেকো না, তাহলে তুমি আযাবপ্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যাবে।
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
And warn thy tribe of near kindred,
And admonish thy nearest kinsmen,
আর তুমি তোমার নিকটাত্মীয়দেরকে সতর্ক কর।
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee.
And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee.
আর মুমিনদের মধ্যে যারা তোমার অনুসরণ করে, তাদের প্রতি তুমি তোমার বাহুকে অবনত কর।
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do.
Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!"
তারপর যদি তারা তোমার অবাধ্য হয়, তাহলে বল, ‘তোমরা যা কর, নিশ্চয় আমি তা থেকে সম্পূর্ণ মুক্ত’।
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful.
And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, -
‘আর তুমি মহাপরাক্রমশালী পরম দয়ালুর উপর তাওয়াক্কুল কর,
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray)
Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer),
‘যিনি তোমাকে দেখেন যখন তুমি দন্ডায়মান হও’
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship).
And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves,
‘এবং সিজদাকারীদের মধ্যে তোমার উঠাবসা’।
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower.
For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things.
‘নিশ্চয় তিনি সর্বশ্রোতা, মহাজ্ঞানী’।
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend ?
Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend?
‘আমি কি তোমাদেরকে সংবাদ দেব, কার নিকট শয়তানরা অবতীর্ণ হয়’?
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
They descend on every sinful, false one.
They descend on every lying, wicked person,
তারা অবতীর্ণ হয় প্রত্যেক চরম মিথ্যাবাদী ও পাপীর নিকট।
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars.
(Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars.
তারা কান পেতে থাকে এবং তাদের অধিকাংশই মিথ্যাবাদী।
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰذِبُونَ
As for poets, the erring follow them.
And the Poets, - It is those straying in Evil, who follow them:
আর বিভ্রান্তরাই কবিদের অনুসরণ করে।
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley,
Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley? -
তুমি কি লক্ষ্য করো নি যে, তারা প্রত্যেক উপত্যকায় উদভ্রান্ত হয়ে ঘুরে বেড়ায়?
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ
And how they say that which they do not ?
And that they say what they practise not? -
আর নিশ্চয় তারা এমন কথা বলে, যা তারা করে না।
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned!
Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take!
তবে যারা ঈমান এনেছে এবং সৎকর্ম করেছে, আর আল্লাহকে অনেক স্মরণ করেছে। আর তারা নির্যাতিত হওয়ার পর প্রতিশোধ নেয়। আর যালিমরা শীঘ্রই জানতে পারবে কোন্ প্রত্যাবর্তন স্থলে তারা প্রত্যাবর্তন করবে।
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
