Chapter 52, 49 verses
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. By the Mount,
By the Mount (of Revelation);
ভাবো পাহাড়ের কথা,
وَٱلطُّورِ
And a Scripture inscribed
By a Decree inscribed
আর লিখিত গ্রন্থের,
وَكِتَٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ
On fine parchment unrolled,
In a Scroll unfolded;
এক খোলামেলা পাতায়,
فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ
And the House frequented,
By the much - frequented Fane;
আর ভাবো ঘনঘন গমনাগমনের গৃহের কথা,
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
And the roof exalted,
By the Canopy Raised High;
আর সমুন্নত ছাদের,
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
And the sea kept filled,
And by the Ocean filled with Swell; -
আর উচ্ছলিত সমুদ্রের কথা,
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass;
Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass; -
নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভুর শাস্তি অবশ্যাবী - -
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
There is none that can ward it off.
There is none can avert it; -
এটির জন্য কোনো প্রতিরোধকারী নেই;
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ
On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving,
On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion.
যেদিন আকাশ আলোড়ন করবে আলোড়নে,
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا
And the mountains move away with (awful) movement,
And the mountains will fly hither and thither.
আর পাহাড়গুলো চলে যাবে চলে যাওয়ায়।
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
Then woe that day unto the deniers
Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood; -
অতএব ধিক্ সেইদিন প্রত্যাখ্যানকারীদের জন্য - -
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Who play in talk of grave matters;
That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles.
যারা বৃথা তর্কবিতর্কে খেলা খেলছে।
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell
That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly.
সেইদিন তাদের ধাক্কা দিয়ে নেওয়া হবে জাহান্নামের আগুনের দিকে ধাক্কা দিতে দিতে।
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
(And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny.
"This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire, - which ye were wont to deny!
''এইটিই সেই আগুন যেটিকে তোমরা মিথ্যা বলতে।
هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
Is this magic, or do ye not see ?
"Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see?
''এটি কি তবে জাদু? না কি তোমরা দেখতে পাচ্ছ না?
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do.
"Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds."
''ঢুকে পড় এতে! অতঃপর তোমরা ধৈর্য ধর অথবা ধৈর্য না - ধর, তোমাদের জন্য একসমান। তোমাদের প্রতিফল দেওয়া হচ্ছে শুধুমাত্র তোমরা যা করতে তারই।’’
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight,
As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness, -
নিঃসন্দেহ মুত্তকীরা থাকবে জান্নাতে ও পরমানন্দে, - -
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell - fire.
Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire.
তাদের প্রভু যা তাদের দিয়েছেন সেজন্য তারা সুখভোগ করতে থাকবে, আর তাদের প্রভু তাদের রক্ষা করবেন ভয়ংকর আগুনের শাস্তি থেকে।
فَٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
(And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do,
(To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds."
''তোমরা যা করে থাকতে সেজন্য তৃপ্তির সাথে খাওদাও ও পান করো।’’
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes.
They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes.
তারা হেলান দিয়ে বসবে সারি - সারি সিংহাসনের উপরে, আর আমরা তাদের জোড় মিলিয়ে দেব আয়তলোচন হূরদের সাথে।
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned.
And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith, - to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds.
আর যারা ঈমান আনে, এবং যাদের সন্তানসন্ততি ধর্মবিশ্বাসে তাদের অনুসরণ করে - - আমরা তাদের সঙ্গে মিলন ঘটাব তাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের, আর আমরা তাদের ক্রিয়াকর্ম থেকে কোনো কিছুই তাদের জন্য কমিয়ে দেব না। প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তিই সে যা অর্জন করেছে সেজন্য দায়ী।
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire.
And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire.
আর আমরা তাদের প্রচুর পরিমাণে প্রদান করব ফলফসল ও মাছমাংস - - যা তারা পছন্দ করে তা থেকে।
وَأَمْدَدْنَٰهُم بِفَٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin.
They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill.
তারা সেখানে একটি পানপাত্র পরস্পরের মধ্যে আদান - প্রদান করবে, তাতে থাকবে না কোনো খেলো আচরণ, না কোনো পাপ।
يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls.
Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well - guarded.
আর তাদের চারিদিকে ঘুরবে তাদের কিশোররা, - - তারা যেন সুরক্ষিত মুক্তো!
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
And some of them draw near unto others, questioning,
They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry.
আর তাদের কেউ - কেউ অপরের দিকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ ক’রে এগিয়ে যাবে - -
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious;
They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people.
তারা বলবে - - ''নিঃসন্দেহ আমরা ইতিপূর্বে আমাদের পরিজনদের সম্পর্কে ভীত ছিলাম।
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire.
"But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind.
''তবে আমাদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করেছেন, আর আমাদের রক্ষা করেছেন তাপপীড়িত বায়ুপ্রবাহের শাস্তি থেকে।
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful.
"Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!"
''আমরা অবশ্য এর আগেও তাঁকে ডাকতে থাকতাম। নিঃসন্দেহ তিনি খোদ অতি সদাশয়, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman.
Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed.
অতএব তুমি উপদেশ দান করতে থাকো, কেননা তোমার প্রভুর অনুগ্রহে তুমি তো গনৎকার নও এবং মাথা - পাগলাও নও।
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time ?
Or do they say: - "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!"
অথবা তারা কি বলে - - ''একজন কবি, আমরা বরং তার জন্য অপেক্ষা করি কালের কবলে পড়ার দরুন?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant.
Say thou: "Await ye! - I too will wait along with you!"
তুমি বলো - - ''তোমরা অপেক্ষা করতে থাকো, আমিও তবে অবশ্য তোমাদের সঙ্গে অপেক্ষাকারীদের মধ্যে রয়েছি।’’
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk ?
Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds?
অথবা তাদের বোধশক্তি কি এ - বিষয়ে তাদের নির্দেশ দিয়ে থাকে? অথবা তারা কি এক সীমালংঘনকারী জাতি?
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَٰمُهُم بِهَٰذَآ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
Or say they: He hath invented it ? Nay, but they will not believe!
Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith!
অথবা তারা কি বলে যে এটি সে বর্ণনা করেছে? না, তারা বিশ্বাস করে না।
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful.
Let them then produce a recital like unto it, - If (it be) they speak the truth!
তাহলে তারা এর সমতুল্য এক রচনা নিয়ে আসুক, - - যদি তারা সত্যবাদী হয়।
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ
Or were they created out of naught ? Or are they the creators ?
Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators?
অথবা তাদের কি সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে কেউ না - থাকা থেকে, না তারাই সৃষ্টিকর্তা?
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ
Or did they create the heavens and the earth ? Nay, but they are sure of nothing!
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief.
অথবা তারা কি সৃষ্টি করেছিল মহাকাশমন্ডল ও পৃথিবী? না, তারা দৃঢ়বিশ্বাস রাখে না।
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord ? Or have they been given charge (thereof) ?
Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)?
অথবা তাদের কাছেই কি রয়েছে তোমার প্রভুর ধনভান্ডার, না তারাই নিয়ন্তা?
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest!
Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof.
অথবা তাদের কাছে কি রয়েছে সিড়ি যাঁর সাহায্যে তারা শোনে নেয়? তাহলে তাদের শ্রবণকারী নিয়ে আসুক এক সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ।
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons ?
Or has He only daughters and ye have sons?
অথবা তাঁর কারণে কি রয়েছে কন্যারাসব, আর তোমাদের জন্য রয়েছে পুত্ররা?
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt ?
Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt? -
অথবা তুমি কি তাদের কাছে পারিশ্রমিক চাইছ, যার ফলে তারা দেনায় ভারাক্রান্ত হয়ে গেছে?
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down ?
Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down?
অথবা কি তাদের কাছে রয়েছে যার ফলে তারা লিখে ফেলতে পারে?
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger) ? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared!
Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot!
অথবা তারা কি ষড়যন্ত্র করতে চায়? কিন্ত যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তারা নিজেরাই ষড়যন্ত্রে জড়িয়ে পড়বে।
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
Or have they any god beside Allah ? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!
Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him!
অথবা ছাড়া তাদের কি অন্য উপাস্য রয়েছে? রই সব মহিমা - - তারা যা শরিক করে তিনি তার বাইরে।
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds.
Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!"
আর যদি তারা দেখে আকাশের এক টুকরো ভেঙ্গে পড়ছে, তাহলে তারা বলবে - - ''এক পুঞ্জীভূত মেঘমালা।’’
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ
Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder - stricken,
So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror), -
অতএব তাদের ছেড়ে দাও যে পর্যন্ত না তারা তাদের সেই দিনটির সাক্ষাৎ পায় যখন তারা হতভন্ব হয়ে যাবে, - -
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped.
The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them.
সেইদিন তাদের চাল - চক্রান্ত তাদের কোনো কাজে আসবে না, আর তাদের সাহায্যও করা হবে না।
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not.
And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not.
আর যারা অন্যায়াচার করেছে তাদের জন্য এ ছাড়া আরো শাস্তি রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই জানে না।
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest,
Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth,
অতএব তোমার প্রভুর বিচারের জন্য ধৈর্য ধরে থেকো, বস্তুত তুমি নিশ্চয়ই আমাদের চোখের সামনে রয়েছ। কাজেই তোমার প্রভুর প্রশংসায় জপতপ করো যখন তুমি উঠে দাঁড়াও,
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
And in the night - time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars.
And for part of the night also praise thou Him, - and at the retreat of the stars!
আর রাতের বেলায়ও তবে তাঁর জপতপ করো এবং তারাগুলো ঝিমিয়ে যাবার সময়েও।
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
