Chapter 16, 128 verses

Shakir
Allah's commandment has come, therefore do not desire to hasten it; glory be to Him, and highly exalted be He above what they associate (with Him).
Transliteration
Ata amru Allahi fala tastaAAjiloohu subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona

র আদেশ আসিবেই; সুতরাং উহা ত্বরান্বিত করিতে চাহিও না। তিনি মহিমান্বিত এবং উহারা যাহাকে শরীক করে তিনি তাহার ঊর্ধ্বে।
Shakir
He sends down the angels with the inspiration by His commandment on whom He pleases of His servants, saying: Give the warning that there is no god but Me, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me.
Transliteration
Yunazzilu almalaikata bialrroohi min amrihi AAala man yashao min AAibadihi an anthiroo annahu la ilaha illa ana faittaqooni

তিনি তাঁহার বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাহার প্রতি ইচ্ছা স্বীয় নির্দেশে ওহীসহ ফিরিশ্তা প্রেরণ করেন এই বলিয়া যে, তোমরা সতর্ক কর, নিশ্চয়ই আমি ব্যতীত কোন ইলাহ্ নাই; সুতরাং আমাকে ভয় কর।
Shakir
He created the heavens and the earth with the truth, highly exalted be He above what they associate (with Him).
সরল পথ র কাছে পৌঁছায়, কিন্তু পথগুলির মধ্যে বক্র পথও আছে। তিনি ইচ্ছা করিলে তোমাদের সকলকেই সৎপথে পরিচালিত করিতেন।
Shakir
He it is Who sends down water from the cloud for you; it gives drink, and by it (grow) the trees upon which you pasture.
Transliteration
Huwa allathee anzala mina alssamai maan lakum minhu sharabun waminhu shajarun feehi tuseemoona

তিনিই আকাশ হইতে বারিবর্ষণ করেন। উহাতে তোমাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে পানীয় এবং উহা হইতে জন্মায় উদ্ভিদ যাহাতে তোমরা পশুচারণ করিয়া থাক।
Shakir
He causes to grow for you thereby herbage, and the olives, and the palm trees, and the grapes, and of all the fruits; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who reflect.
তিনি তোমাদের জন্য উহার দ্বারা জন্মান শস্য, যায়তূন, খর্জুর বৃক্ষ, দ্রাক্ষা এবং সর্বপ্রকার ফল। অবশ্যই ইহাতে চিন্তাশীল সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য রহিয়াছে নিদর্শন।
Shakir
And He has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by His commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder;
এবং তিনি বিবিধ প্রকার বস্তুও যাহা তোমাদের জন্য পৃথিবীতে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন, ইহাতে রহিয়াছে নিশ্চিত নিদর্শন সেই সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য যাহারা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে।
Shakir
And He it is Who has made the sea subservient that you may eat fresh flesh from it and bring forth from it ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships cleaving through it, and that you might seek of His bounty and that you may give thanks.
এবং তিনি পৃথিবীতে সুদৃঢ় পর্বত স্থাপন করিয়াছেন, যাহাতে পৃথিবী তোমাদেরকে লইয়া আন্দোলিত না হয় এবং স্থাপন করিয়াছেন নদ - নদী ও পথ, যাহাতে তোমরা তোমাদের গন্তব্যস্থলে পৌঁছিতে পার;
Shakir
And landmarks; and by the stars they find the right way.
Transliteration
WaAAalamatin wabialnnajmi hum yahtadoona

এবং পথনির্ণায়ক চিহ্নসমূহও। আর উহারা নক্ষত্রের সাহায্যেও পথের নির্দেশ পায়।
Shakir
Is He then Who creates like him who does not create? Do you not then mind?
Transliteration
Afaman yakhluqu kaman la yakhluqu afala tathakkaroona

সুতরাং যিনি সৃষ্টি করেন তিনি কি তাহারই মত, যে সৃষ্টি করে না? তবুও কি তোমরা শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করিবে না?
Shakir
And if you would count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Transliteration
Wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna Allaha laghafoorun raheemun

তোমরা র অনুগ্রহ গণনা করিলে উহার সংখ্যা নির্ণয় করিতে পারিবে না। তো অবশ্যই ক্ষমাপরায়ণ, পরম দয়ালু।
Shakir
And Allah knows what you conceal and what you do openly.
Transliteration
WaAllahu yaAAlamu ma tusirroona wama tuAAlinoona

তোমরা যাহা গোপন রাখ এবং যাহা প্রকাশ কর তাহা জানেন।
Shakir
And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created;
Transliteration
Waallatheena yadAAoona min dooni Allahi la yakhluqoona shayan wahum yukhlaqoona

উহারা ব্যতীত অপর যাহাদেরকে আহ্বান করে তাহারা কিছুই সৃষ্টি করে না, তাহাদেরকেই সৃষ্টি করা হয়।
Shakir
Dead (are they), not living, and they know not when they shall be raised.
যখন উহাদেরকে বলা হয়, ‘তোমাদের প্রতিপালক কি অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছেন?’ তখন উহারা বলে, ‘পূর্ববর্তীদের উপকথা!’
Shakir
That they may bear their burdens entirely on the day of resurrection and also of the burdens of those whom they lead astray without knowledge; now surely evil is what they bear.
Transliteration
Liyahmiloo awzarahum kamilatan yawma alqiyamati wamin awzari allatheena yudilloonahum bighayri AAilmin ala saa ma yaziroona

ফলে কিয়ামত দিবসে উহারা বহন করিবে উহাদের পাপভার পূর্ণ মাত্রায় এবং পাপভার তাহাদেরও যাহাদেরকে উহারা অজ্ঞতাহেতু বিভ্রান্ত করিয়াছে। দেখ, উহারা যাহা বহন করিবে তাহা কত নিকৃষ্ট!
Shakir
Those before them did indeed devise plans, but Allah demolished their building from the foundations, so the roof fell down on them from above them, and the punishment came to them from whence they did not perceive.
Transliteration
Qad makara allatheena min qablihim faata Allahu bunyanahum mina alqawaAAidi fakharra AAalayhimu alssaqfu min fawqihim waatahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona

উহাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও চক্রান্ত করিয়াছিল; উহাদের ইমারতের ভিত্তিমূলে আঘাত করিয়াছিলেন; ফলে ইমারতের ছাদ উহাদের উপর ধসিয়া পড়িল এবং উহাদের প্রতি শাস্তি আসিল এমন দিক হইতে যাহা ছিল উহাদের ধারণার অতীত।
Shakir
Then on the resurrection day He will bring them to disgrace and say: Where are the associates you gave Me, for whose sake you became hostile? Those who are given the knowledge will say: Surely the disgrace and the evil are this day upon the unbelievers:
পরে কিয়ামতের দিন তিনি উহাদেরকে লাঞ্ছিত করিবেন এবং তিনি বলিবেন, ‘কোথায় আমার সেই সমস্ত শরীক যাহাদের সম্বন্ধে তোমরা বিতণ্ডা করিতে?’ যাহাদেরকে জ্ঞান দান করা হইয়াছিল তাহারা বলিবে, ‘আজ লাঞ্ছনা ও অমঙ্গল কাফিরদের - ’
Shakir
Those whom the angels cause to die while they are unjust to themselves. Then would they offer submission: We used not to do any evil. Aye! surely Allah knows what you did.
Transliteration
Allatheena tatawaffahumu almalaikatu thalimee anfusihim faalqawoo alssalama ma kunna naAAmalu min sooin bala inna Allaha AAaleemun bima kuntum taAAmaloona

যাহাদের মৃত্যু ঘটায় ফিরিশ্তাগণ উহারা নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করিতে থাকা অবস্থায়; অতঃপর উহারা আত্মসর্মপণ করিয়া বলিবে, ‘আমরা কোন মন্দ কর্ম করিতাম না।’ এবং নিশ্চয়ই তোমরা যাহা করিতে সে বিষয়ে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Shakir
Therefore enter the gates of hell, to abide therein; so certainly evil is the dwelling place of the proud.
সুতরাং তোমরা দ্বারগুলি দিয়া জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ কর, সেখানে তোমরা স্থায়ী হইবে। দেখ, অহংকারীদের আবাসস্থল কত নিকৃষ্ট!
Shakir
And it is said to those who guard (against evil): What is it that your Lord has revealed? They say, Good. For those who do good in this world is good, and certainly the abode of the hereafter is better; and certainly most excellent is the abode of those who guard (against evil);
এবং যাহারা ছিল তাহাদেরকে বলা হইবে, ‘তোমাদের প্রতিপালক কী অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছিলেন?’ তাহারা বলিবে, ‘মহাকল্যাণ’। যাহারা সৎকর্ম করে তাহাদের জন্য আছে এই দুনিয়ায় মঙ্গল এবং আখিরাতের আবাস আরও উৎকৃষ্ট এবং মুত্তাকীদের আবাসস্থল কত উত্তম! -
Shakir
The gardens of perpetuity, they shall enter them, rivers flowing beneath them; they shall have in them what they please. Thus does Allah reward those who guard (against evil),
Transliteration
Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha tajree min tahtiha alanharu lahum feeha ma yashaoona kathalika yajzee Allahu almuttaqeena

উহা স্থায়ী জান্নাত যাহাতে তাহারা প্রবেশ করিবে; উহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত; তাহারা যাহা কিছু কামনা করিবে উহাতে তাহাদের জন্য তাহাই থাকিবে। এইভাবেই পুরস্কৃত করেন মুত্তাকীদেরকে,
Shakir
Those whom the angels cause to die in a good state, saying: Peace be on you: enter the garden for what you did.
ফিরিশ্তাগণ যাহাদের মৃত্যু ঘটায় পবিত্র থাকা অবস্থায়। ফিরিশ্তাগণ বলিবে, ‘তোমাদের প্রতি শান্তি! তোমরা যাহা করিতে তাহার ফলে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ কর।’
Shakir
They do not wait aught but that the angels should come to them or that the commandment of your Lord should come to pass. Thus did those before them; and Allah was not unjust to them, but they were unjust to themselves.
Transliteration
Hal yanthuroona illa an tatiyahumu almalaikatu aw yatiya amru rabbika kathalika faAAala allatheena min qablihim wamathalamahumu Allahu walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

উহারা শুধু প্রতীক্ষা করে উহাদের নিকট ফিরিশ্তা আগমনের অথবা তোমার প্রতিপালকের শাস্তি আগমনের। উহাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা এইরূপই করিত। উহাদের প্রতি কোন জুলুম করেন নাই, কিন্তু উহারাই নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করিত।
Shakir
So the evil (consequences) of what they did shall afflict them and that which they mocked shall encompass them.
Transliteration
Faasabahum sayyiatu ma AAamiloo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
And they who give associates (to Allah) say: If Allah had pleased, we would not have served anything besides Allah, (neither) we nor our fathers, nor would we have prohibited anything without (order from) Him. Thus did those before them; is then aught incumbent upon the apostles except a plain delivery (of the message)?
Transliteration
Waqala allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma AAabadna min doonihi min shayin nahnu walaabaona walaharramna min doonihi min shayin kathalika faAAala allatheena min qablihim fahal AAala alrrusuli illa albalaghu almubeenu

মুশরিকরা বলিবে, ইচ্ছা করিলে আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা ও আমরা তাঁহাকে ব্যতীত অপর কোন কিছুর ‘ইবাদত করিতাম না এবং তাঁহার অনুজ্ঞা ব্যতীত আমরা কোন কিছু নিষিদ্ধ করিতাম না।’ উহাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা এইরূপই করিত। রাসূলদের কর্তব্য তো কেবল সুস্পষ্ট বাণী পৌঁছাইয়া দেওয়া।
Shakir
And certainly We raised in every nation an apostle saying: Serve Allah and shun the Shaitan. So there were some of them whom Allah guided and there were others against whom error was due; therefore travel in the land, then see what was the end of the rejecters.
Transliteration
Walaqad baAAathna fee kulli ommatin rasoolan ani oAAbudoo Allaha waijtaniboo alttaghoota faminhum man hada Allahu waminhum man haqqat AAalayhi alddalalatu faseeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena

র ‘ইবাদত করিবার ও তাগূতকে বর্জন করিবার নির্দেশ দিবার জন্য আমি তো প্রত্যেক জাতির মধ্যেই রাসূল পাঠাইয়াছি। অতঃপর উহাদের কতককে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করেন এবং উহাদের কতকের উপর পথভ্রান্তি সাব্যস্ত হইয়াছিল; সুতরাং পৃথিবীতে পরিভ্রমণ কর এবং দেখ, যাহারা সত্যকে মিথ্যা বলিয়াছে তাহাদের পরিণাম কী হইয়াছে!
Shakir
If you desire for their guidance, yet surely Allah does not guide him who leads astray, nor shall they have any helpers.
Transliteration
In tahris AAala hudahum fainna Allaha la yahdee man yudillu wama lahum min nasireena

তুমি উহাদের পথ প্রদর্শন করিতে আগ্রহী হইলেও যাহাকে বিভ্রান্ত করিয়াছেন, তাহাকে তিনি সৎপথে পরিচালিত করিবেন না এবং উহাদের কোন সাহায্যকারীও নাই।
Shakir
And they swear by Allah with the most energetic of their oaths: Allah will not raise up him who dies. Yea! it is a promise binding on Him, quite true, but most people do not know;
Transliteration
Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim la yabAAathu Allahu man yamootu bala waAAdan AAalayhi haqqan walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

উহারা দৃঢ়তার সঙ্গে র শপথ করিয়া বলে, ‘যাহার মৃত্যু হয় তাহাকে পুনর্জীবিত করিবেন না।’ কেন নয়, তিনি তাঁহার প্রতিশ্রুতি পূর্ণ করিবেনই। কিন্তু অধিকাংশ মানষু ইহা অবগত নহে -
Shakir
So that He might make manifest to them that about which they differ, and that those who disbelieve might know that they were liars.
তিনি পুনরুত্থিত করিবেন যে বিষয়ে উহাদের মতানৈক্য ছিল তাহা উহাদেরকে স্পষ্টভাবে দেখাইবার জন্য এবং যাহাতে কাফিররা জানিতে পারে যে, উহারাই ছিল মিথ্যাবাদী।
Shakir
Our word for a thing when We intend it, is only that We say to it, Be, and it is.
Transliteration
Innama qawluna lishayin itha aradnahu an naqoola lahu kun fayakoonu

আমি কোন কিছু ইচ্ছা করিলে সেই বিষয়ে আমার কথা কেবল এই যে, আমি বলি, ‘হও’, ফলে উহা হইয়া যায়।
Shakir
And those who fly for Allah's sake after they are oppressed, We will most certainly give them a good abode in the world, and the reward of the hereafter is certainly much greater, did they but know;
Transliteration
Waallatheena hajaroo fee Allahi min baAAdi mathulimoo lanubawwiannahum fee alddunyahasanatan walaajru alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona

যাহারা অত্যাচারিত হইবার পর র পথে হিজরত করিয়াছে, আমি অবশ্যই তাহাদেরকে দুনিয়ায় উত্তম আবাস দিব; এবং আখিরাতের পুরস্কারই তো শ্রেষ্ঠ। হায়, উহারা যদি তাহা জানিত!

Those who are patient and on their Lord do they rely.
যাহারা ধৈর্য ধারণ করে ও তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের উপর নির্ভর করে।
Shakir
And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation - - so ask the followers of the Reminder if you do not know - -
Transliteration
Wama arsalna min qablika illa rijalan noohee ilayhim faisaloo ahla alththikri in kuntum la taAAlamoona

তোমার পূর্বে আমি ওহীসহ পুরুষই প্রেরণ করিয়াছিলাম, তোমরা যদি না জান তবে জ্ঞানীগণকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর -
Shakir
With clear arguments and scriptures; and We have revealed to you the Reminder that you may make clear to men what has been revealed to them, and that haply they may reflect.
প্রেরণ করিয়াছিলাম স্পষ্টভাবে প্রমাণাদি ও গ্রন্থাবলীসহ এবং তোমার প্রতি কুরআন অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছি, মানুষকে সুস্পষ্ট বুঝাইয়া দিবার জন্য যাহা তাহাদের প্রতি অবতীর্ণ করা হইয়াছিল, যাহাতে উহারা চিন্তা করে।
Shakir
Do they then who plan evil (deeds) feel secure (of this) that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them or that punishment may not overtake them from whence they do not perceive?
Transliteration
Afaamina allatheena makaroo alssayyiati an yakhsifa Allahu bihimu alarda aw yatiyahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroona

যাহারা কুকর্মের ষড়যন্ত্র করে তাহারা কি এ বিষয়ে নির্ভয় হইয়াছে যে, উহাদেরকে ভূগর্ভে বিলীন করিবেন না অথবা এমন দিক হইতে শাস্তি আসিবে না, যাহা উহাদের ধারণাতীত?
Shakir
Or that He may not seize them in the course of their journeys, then shall they not escape;
Transliteration
Aw yakhuthahum fee taqallubihim fama hum bimuAAjizeena
ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন
অথবা চলাফেরা করিতে থাকাকালে তিনি উহাদের ধৃত করিবেন না? উহারা তো ইহা ব্যর্থ করিতে পারিবে না।
Shakir
Or that He may not seize them by causing them to suffer gradual loss, for your Lord is most surely Compassionate, Merciful.
Transliteration
Aw yakhuthahum AAala takhawwufin fainna rabbakum laraoofun raheemun
ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন
অথবা উহাদেরকে তিনি ভীত - সন্ত্রস্ত অবস্থায় ধৃত করিবেন না? তোমাদের প্রতিপালক তো অবশ্যই দয়ার্দ্র, পরম দয়ালু।
Shakir
Do they not consider every thing that Allah has created? Its (very) shadows return from right and left, making obeisance to Allah while they are in utter abasement.
Transliteration
Awa lam yaraw ila ma khalaqa Allahu min shayin yatafayyao thilaluhu AAani alyameeni waalshshamaili sujjadan lillahi wahum dakhiroona

উহারা কি লক্ষ্য করে না র সৃষ্ট বস্তুর প্রতি, যাহার ছায়া দক্ষিণে ও বামে ঢলিয়া পড়িয়া র প্রতি সিজ্দাবনত হয়?
Shakir
And whatever creature that is in the heavens and that is in the earth makes obeisance to Allah (only), and the angels (too) and they do not show pride.
Transliteration
Walillahi yasjudu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi min dabbatin waalmalaikatu wahum la yastakbiroona
ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন
কেই সিজ্দা করে যাহা কিছু আছে আকাশমণ্ডলীতে, পৃথিবীতে যত জীবজন্তু আছে সে সমস্ত এবং ফিরিশ্তাগণও, উহারা অহংকার করে না।

They fear their Lord above them and do what they are commanded.
Transliteration
Yakhafoona rabbahum min fawqihim wayafAAaloona ma yumaroona
ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন
উহারা ভয় করে উহাদের উপর উহাদের প্রতিপালককে এবং উহাদেরকে যাহা আদেশ করা হয় উহারা তাহা করে।
Shakir
And Allah has said: Take not two gods, He is only one Allah; so of Me alone should you be afraid.
Transliteration
Waqala Allahu la tattakhithoo ilahayni ithnayni innama huwa ilahun wahidun faiyyaya fairhabooni
ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন
বলিলেন, ‘তোমরা দুই ইলাহ্ গ্রহণ করিও না; তিনিই তো একমাত্র ইলাহ্। সুতরাং আমাকেই ভয় কর।’
Shakir
And whatever is in the heavens and the earth is His, and to Him should obedience be (rendered) constantly; will you then guard against other than (the punishment of) Allah?
আমি উহাদেরকে যাহা দান করিয়াছি তাহা অস্বীকার করিবার জন্য। সুতরাং ভোগ করিয়া লও, অচিরেই জানিতে পারিবে।
Shakir
And they set apart for what they do not know a portion of what We have given them. By Allah, you shall most certainly be questioned about that which you forged.
Transliteration
WayajAAaloona lima la yaAAlamoona naseeban mimma razaqnahum taAllahi latusalunna AAamma kuntum taftaroona

আমি উহাদেরকে যে রিযিক দান করি উহারা তাহার এক অংশ নির্ধারণ করে তাহাদের জন্য যাহাদের সম্বন্ধে উহারা কিছুই জানে না। শপথ র! তোমরা যে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন কর সেই সম্বন্ধে তোমাদেরকে অবশ্যই প্রশ্ন করা হইবে।
Shakir
And they ascribe daughters to Allah, glory be to Him; and for themselves (they would have) what they desire.
Transliteration
WayajAAaloona lillahi albanati subhanahu walahum ma yashtahoona
ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন
উহারা নির্ধারণ করে র জন্য কন্যা সন্তান - তিনি পবিত্র, মহিমান্বিত এবং উহাদের জন্য তাহাই, যাহা উহারা কামনা করে!
Shakir
And when a daughter is announced to one of them his face becomes black and he is full of wrath.
উহাদের কাহাকেও যখন কন্যা সন্তানের সুসংবাদ দেওয়া হয় তখন তাহার মুখমণ্ডল কালো হইয়া যায় এবং সে অসহনীয় মনস্তাপে ক্লিষ্ট হয়।
Shakir
He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that which is announced to him. Shall he keep it with disgrace or bury it (alive) in the dust? Now surely evil is what they judge.
Transliteration
Yatawara mina alqawmi min sooi ma bushshira bihi ayumsikuhu AAala hoonin am yadussuhu fee altturabi ala saa ma yahkumoona

উহাকে যে সংবাদ দেওয়া হয়, তাহার গ্লানি হেতু সে নিজ সম্প্রদায় হইতে আত্মগোপন করে। সে চিন্তা করে হীনতা সত্ত্বেও সে উহাকে রাখিয়া দিবে, না মাটিতে পুঁতিয়া দিবে! সাবধান! উহারা যাহা সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় তাহা কত নিকৃষ্ট।
Shakir
For those who do not believe in the hereafter is an evil attribute, and Allah's is the loftiest attribute; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
যাহারা আখিরাতে বিশ্বাস করে না উহারা নিকৃষ্ট প্রকৃতির, আর তো মহত্তম প্রকৃতির; এবং তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Shakir
And if Allah had destroyed men for their iniquity, He would not leave on the earth a single creature, but He respites them till an appointed time; so when their doom will come they shall not be able to delay (it) an hour nor can they bring (it) on (before its time).
Transliteration
Walaw yuakhithu Allahu alnnasa bithulmihim ma taraka AAalayha min dabbatin walakin yuakhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman faitha jaa ajaluhum la yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona

যদি মানুষকে তাহাদের সীমালংঘনের জন্য শাস্তি দিতেন তবে ভূপৃষ্ঠে কোন জীব - জন্তুকেই রেহাই দিতেন না; কিন্তু তিনি এক নিদির্ষ্ট কাল পর্যন্ত তাহাদেরকে অবকাশ দিয়া থাকেন। অতঃপর যখন তাহাদের সময় আসে তখন তাহারা মুহূর্তকাল বিলম্ব অথবা ত্বরা করিতে পারে না।
Shakir
And they ascribe to Allah what they (themselves) hate and their tongues relate the lie that they shall have the good; there is no avoiding it that for them is the fire and that they shall be sent before.
Transliteration
WayajAAaloona lillahi ma yakrahoona watasifu alsinatuhumu alkathiba anna lahumu alhusna la jarama anna lahumu alnnara waannahum mufratoona

যাহা তাহারা অপছন্দকরে তাহাই তাহারা আল্লাহর প্রতি আরোপ করে। তাহাদের জিহ্বা মিথ্যা বর্ণনা করে যে, মঙ্গল তাহাদেরই জন্য। নিঃসন্দেহে তাহাদের জন্য আছে দোযখ এবং তাহাদেরকেই সর্বাগ্রে উহাতে নিক্ষেপ করা হইবে।

By Allah, most certainly We sent (apostles) to nations before you, but the Shaitan made their deeds fair - seeming to them, so he is their guardian today, and they shall have a painful punishment.
Transliteration
TaAllahi laqad arsalna ila omamin min qablika fazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fahuwa waliyyuhumu alyawma walahum AAathabun aleemun

শপথ র! আমি তোমার পূর্বেও বহু জাতির নিকট রাসূল প্রেরণ করিয়াছি; কিন্তু শয়তান ঐসব জাতির কার্যকলাপ উহাদের দৃষ্টিতে শোভন করিয়াছিল; সুতরাং সে - ই আজ উহাদের অভিভাবক এবং উহাদেরই জন্য মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
Shakir
And We have not revealed to you the Book except that you may make clear to them that about which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.
আমি তো তোমার প্রতি কিতাব অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছি যাহারা এ বিষয়ে মতভেদ করে তাহাদেরকে সুস্পষ্টভাবে বুঝাইয়া দিবার জন্য এবং মু’মিনদের জন্য পথনির্দেশ ও দয়াস্বরূপ।
Shakir
And Allah has sent down water from the cloud and therewith given life to the earth after its death; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who would listen.
Transliteration
WaAllahu anzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yasmaAAoona

আকাশ হইতে বারি বর্ষণ করেন এবং তদ্দ্বারা তিনি ভূমিকে উহার মৃত্যুর পর পুনর্জীবিত করেন। অবশ্যই ইহাতে নিদর্শন আছে, যে সম্প্রদায় কথা শুনে তাহাদের জন্য।
Shakir
And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies - - from betwixt the feces and the blood - - pure milk, easy and agreeable to swallow for those who drink.
অবশ্যই গবাদিপশুর মধ্যে তোমাদের জন্য শিক্ষা রহিয়াছে। উহাদের উদরস্থিত গোবর ও রক্তের মধ্য হইতে তোমাদেরকে পান করাই বিশুদ্ধ দুগ্ধ, যাহা পানকারীদের জন্য সুস্বাদু।
Shakir
And of the fruits of the palms and the grapes - - you obtain from them intoxication and goodly provision; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who ponder.
এবং খর্জুর - বৃক্ষের ফল ও আঙ্গুর হইতে তোমরা মাদক ও উত্তম খাদ্য গ্রহণ করিয়া থাক; ইহাতে অবশ্যই বোধশক্তিসম্পন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য রহিয়াছে নিদর্শন।
Shakir
And your Lord revealed to the bee saying: Make hives in the mountains and in the trees and in what they build:
Transliteration
Waawha rabbuka ila alnnahli ani ittakhithee mina aljibali buyootan wamina alshshajari wamimma yaAArishoona

তোমার প্রতিপালক মৌমাছিকে উহার অন্তরে ইঙ্গিত দ্বারা নির্দেশ দিয়াছেন, ‘গৃহ নির্মাণ কর পাহাড়ে, বৃক্ষে ও মানুষ যে গৃহ নির্মাণ করে তাহাতে;
Shakir
Then eat of all the fruits and walk in the ways of your Lord submissively. There comes forth from within it a beverage of many colours, in which there is healing for men; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who reflect.
‘ইহার পর প্রত্যেক ফল হইতে কিছু কিছু আহার কর, অতঃপর তোমার প্রতিপালকের সহজ পথ অনুসরণ কর।’ উহার উদর হইতে নির্গত হয় বিবিধ বর্ণের পানীয়; যাহাতে মানুষের জন্য রহিয়াছে আরোগ্য। অবশ্যই ইহাতে রহিয়াছে নিদর্শন চিন্তাশীল সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য।
Shakir
And Allah has created you, then He causes you to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; surely Allah is Knowing, Powerful.
Transliteration
WaAllahu khalaqakum thumma yatawaffakum waminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likay la yaAAlama baAAda AAilmin shayan inna Allaha AAaleemun qadeerun

ই তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন; অতঃপর তিনি তোমাদের মৃত্যু ঘটাইবেন এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে কাহাকেও কাহাকেও উপনীত করা হইবে নিকৃষ্টতম বয়সে; ফলে উহারা যাহা কিছু জানিত সে সমন্ধে উহারা স্বজ্ঞান থাকিবে না। নিশ্চই সর্বজ্ঞ সর্বশক্তিমান।
Shakir
And Allah has made some of you excel others in the means of subsistence, so those who are made to excel do not give away their sustenance to those whom their right hands possess so that they should be equal therein; is it then the favor of Allah which they deny?
জীবনোপকরণে তোমাদের কাহাকেও কাহারও উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দিয়াছেন। যাহাদেরকে শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহারা তাহাদের অধীনস্থ দাস - দাসীদেরকে নিজেদের জীবনোপকরণ হইতে এমন কিছু দেয় না যাহাতে উহারা এ বিষয়ে তাহাদের সমান হইয়া যায়। তবে কি উহারা র অনুগ্রহ অস্বীকার করে?
Shakir
And Allah has made wives for you from among yourselves, and has given you sons and grandchildren from your wives, and has given you of the good things; is it then in the falsehood that they believe while it is in the favor of Allah that they disbelieve?
Transliteration
WaAllahu jaAAala lakum min anfusikum azwajan wajaAAala lakum min azwajikum baneena wahafadatan warazaqakum mina alttayyibati afabialbatili yuminoona wabiniAAmati Allahi hum yakfuroona

And they serve besides Allah that which does not control for them any sustenance at all from the heavens and the earth, nor have they any power.
Transliteration
WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yamliku lahum rizqan mina alssamawati waalardi shayan wala yastateeAAoona

এবং উহারা কি ‘ইবাদত করিবে ব্যতীত অপরের যাহাদের আকাশমণ্ডলী অথবা পৃথিবী হইতে কোন জীবনোপকরণ সরবরাহ করিবার শক্তি নাই! - এবং উহারা কিছুই করিতে সক্ষম নয়।

Therefore do not give likenesses to Allah; surely Allah knows and you do not know.
Transliteration
Fala tadriboo lillahi alamthala inna Allaha yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona

সুতরাং তোমরা র কোন সদৃশ স্থির করিও না। জানেন এবং তোমরা জান না।
Shakir
Allah sets forth a parable: (consider) a slave, the property of another, (who) has no power over anything, and one whom We have granted from Ourselves a goodly sustenance so he spends from it secretly and openly; are the two alike? (All) praise is due to Allah! Nay, most of them do not know.
Transliteration
Daraba Allahu mathalan AAabdan mamlookan la yaqdiru AAala shayin waman razaqnahu minna rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirran wajahran hal yastawoona alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona

উপমা দিতেছেন অপরের অধিকারভুক্ত এক দাসের, যে কোন কিছুর উপর শক্তি রাখে না এবং এমন এক ব্যক্তির যাহাকে তিনি নিজ হইতে উত্তম রিযিক দান করিয়াছেন এবং সে উহা হইতে গোপনে ও প্রকাশ্যে ব্যয় করে; উহারা কি একে অপরের সমান? সকল প্রশংসা রই প্রাপ্য অথচ উহাদের অধিকাংশই ইহা জানে না।

And Allah sets forth a parable of two men; one of them is dumb, not able to do anything, and he is a burden to his master; wherever he sends him, he brings no good; can he be held equal with him who enjoins what is just, and he (himself) is on the right path?
Transliteration
Wadaraba Allahu mathalan rajulayni ahaduhuma abkamu la yaqdiru AAala shayin wahuwa kallun AAala mawlahu aynama yuwajjihhu la yati bikhayrin hal yastawee huwa waman yamuru bialAAadli wahuwa AAalasiratin mustaqeemin

আরও উপমা দিতেছেন দুই ব্যক্তির : উহাদের একজন মূক, কোন কিছুরই শক্তি রাখে না এবং সে তাহার প্রভুর ভারস্বরূপ; তাহাকে যেখানেই পাঠান হউক না কেন সে ভাল কিছুই করিয়া আসিতে পারে না ; সে কি সমান হইবে ঐ ব্যক্তির, যে ন্যায়ের নির্দেশ দেয় এবং যে আছে সরল পথে?

And Allah's is the unseen of the heavens and the earth; and the matter of the hour is but as the twinkling of an eye or it is higher still; surely Allah has power over all things.
Transliteration
Walillahi ghaybu alssamawati waalardi wama amru alssaAAati illa kalamhi albasari aw huwa aqrabu inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর বিষয়ের জ্ঞান রই এবং কিয়ামতের ব্যাপার তো চক্ষুর পলকের ন্যায়, বরং উহা অপেক্ষাও স্বত্বর। নিশ্চয়ই সর্ববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
Shakir
And Allah has brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers - - you did not know anything - - and He gave you hearing and sight and hearts that you may give thanks.
Transliteration
WaAllahu akhrajakum min butooni ommahatikum la taAAlamoona shayan wajaAAala lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata laAAallakum tashkuroona

এবং তোমাদেরকে বাহির করিয়াছেন তোমাদের মাতৃগর্ভ হইতে এমন অবস্থায় যে, তোমরা কিছুই জানিতে না। তিনি তোমাদেরকে দিয়াছেন শ্রবণশক্তি, দৃষ্টিশক্তি এবং হৃদয়, যাহাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর।

Do they not see the birds, constrained in the middle of the sky? None withholds them but Allah; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.
Transliteration
Alam yaraw ila alttayri musakhkharatin fee jawwi alssamai ma yumsikuhunna illa Allahu inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona

তাহারা কি লক্ষ্য করে না আকাশের শূন্যগর্ভে নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন বিহংগের প্রতি? ব্যতীত অন্য কেহই সেইগুলিকে স্থির রাখে না। অবশ্যই ইহাতে নিদর্শন রহিয়াছে সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য।
Shakir
And Allah has given you a place to abide in your houses, and He has given you tents of the skins of cattle which you find light to carry on the day of your march and on the day of your halting, and of their wool and their fur and their hair (He has given you) household stuff and a provision for a time.
এবং তোমাদের গৃহকে করেন তোমাদের আবাসস্থল এবং তিনি তোমাদের জন্য পশুচর্মের তাঁবুর ব্যবস্থা করেন, তোমরা উহাকে সহজ মনে কর ভ্রমণকালে এবং অবস্থানকালে। এবং তিনি তোমাদের জন্য ব্যবস্থা করেন উহাদের পশম, লোম ও কেশ হইতে কিছু কালের গৃহসামগ্রী ও ব্যবহার - উপকরণ।
Shakir
And Allah has made for you of what He has created shelters, and He has given you in the mountains places of retreat, and He has given you garments to preserve you from the heat and coats of mail to preserve you in your fighting; even thus does He complete His favor upon you, that haply you may submit.
এবং যাহা কিছু সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন তাহা হইতে তিনি তোমাদের জন্য ছায়ার ব্যবস্থা করেন এবং তোমাদের জন্য পাহাড়ে আশ্রয়ের ব্যবস্থা করেন এবং তোমাদের জন্য ব্যবস্থা করেন পরিধেয় বস্ত্রের; উহা তোমাদেরকে তাপ হইতে রক্ষা করে এবং তিনি ব্যবস্থা করেন তোমাদের জন্য বর্মের, উহা তোমাদেরকে যুদ্ধে রক্ষা করে। এইভাবে তিনি তোমাদের প্রতি তাঁহার অনুগ্রহ পূর্ণ করেন যাহাতে তোমরা আত্মসমর্পণ কর।

But if they turn back, then on you devolves only the clear deliverance (of the message).
উহারা র নিয়ামত চিনিতে পারে; তারপরও সেগুলি উহারা অস্বীকার করে এবং উহাদের অধিকাংশই ।
Shakir
And on the day when We will raise up a witness out of every nation, then shall no permission be given to those who disbelieve, nor shall they be made to solicit favor.
Transliteration
Wayawma nabAAathu min kulli ommatin shaheedan thumma la yuthanu lillatheena kafaroo wala hum yustaAAtaboona

যেদিন আমি প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায় হইতে এক একজন সাক্ষী উত্থিত করিব সেদিন কাফিরদেরকে অনুমতি দেওয়া হইবে না এবং উহাদের কোন ওযরও গৃহীত হইবে না।

And when those who are unjust shall see the chastisement, it shall not be lightened for them, nor shall they be respited.
যখন জালিমরা শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করিবে তখন উহাদের শাস্তিলঘু করা হইবে না এবং উহাদেরকে কোন অবকাশ দেওয়া হইবে না।
Shakir
And when those who associate (others with Allah) shall see their associate - gods, they shall say: Our Lord, these are our associate - gods on whom we called besides Thee. But they will give them back the reply: Most surely you are liars.
Transliteration
Waitha raa allatheena ashrakoo shurakaahum qaloo rabbana haolai shurakaona allatheena kunna nadAAoo min doonika faalqaw ilayhimu alqawla innakum lakathiboona

মুশরিকরা যাহাদেরকে র শরীক করিয়াছিল, তাহাদেরকে যখন দেখিবে তখন তাহারা বলিবে, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! ইহারাই তাহারা, যাহাদেরকে আমরা তোমার শরীক করিয়াছিলাম, যাহাদেরকে আমরা আহ্বান করিতাম তোমার পরিবর্তে; অতঃপর তদুত্তরে উহারা বলিবে, ‘তোমরা অবশ্যই মিথ্যাবাদী।’

And they shall tender submission to Allah on that day; and what they used to forge shall depart from them.
Transliteration
Waalqaw ila Allahi yawmaithin alssalama wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona

সেই দিন তাহারা নিকট আত্মসর্মপণ করিবে এবং তাহারা যে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করিত তাহা তাহাদের জন্য নিষ্ফল হইবে।

(As for) those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah's way, We will add chastisement to their chastisement because they made mischief.
আমি শাস্তির পর শাস্তি বৃদ্ধি করিব কাফিরদের ও র পথে বাধাদানকারীদের; কারণ তাহারা অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করিত।
Shakir
And on the day when We will raise up in every people a witness against them from among themselves, and bring you as a witness against these - - and We have revealed the Book to you explaining clearly everything, and a guidance and mercy and good news for those who submit.
সেই দিন আমি উত্থিত করিব প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ে তাহাদেরই মধ্য হইতে তাহাদের বিষয়ে এক একজন সাক্ষী এবং তোমাকে আমি আনিব সাক্ষীরূপে ইহাদের বিষয়ে। আমি আত্মাসমপর্ণকারীদের জন্য প্রত্যেক বিষয়ে স্পষ্ট ব্যাখ্যাস্বরূপ, পথনির্দেশ, দয়া ও সুসংবাদস্বরূপ তোমার প্রতি কিতাব অবতীর্ণ করিলাম।
Shakir
Surely Allah enjoins the doing of justice and the doing of good (to others) and the giving to the kindred, and He forbids indecency and evil and rebellion; He admonishes you that you may be mindful.
নিশ্চয়ই ন্যায়পরায়ণতা, সদাচরণ ও আত্মীয় - স্বজনকে দানের নির্দেশ দেন এবং তিনি নিষেধ করেন অশ্লীলতা, অসৎকর্ম ও সীমালংঘন; তিনি তোমাদেরকে উপদেশ দেন যাহাতে তোমরা শিক্ষা গ্রহণ কর।
Shakir
And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have made a covenant, and do not break the oaths after making them fast, and you have indeed made Allah a surety for you; surely Allah knows what you do.
Transliteration
Waawfoo biAAahdi Allahi itha AAahadtum wala tanqudoo alaymana baAAda tawkeediha waqad jaAAaltumu Allaha AAalaykum kafeelan inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma tafAAaloona

তোমরা র অঙ্গীকার পূর্ণ করিও যখন পরস্পর অঙ্গীকার কর এবং তোমরা কে তোমাদের যামিন করিয়া শপথ দৃঢ় করিবার পর উহা ভঙ্গ করিও না। তোমরা যাহা কর নিশ্চয়ই তা জানেন।
Shakir
And be not like her who unravels her yarn, disintegrating it into pieces after she has spun it strongly. You make your oaths to be means of deceit between you because (one) nation is more numerous than (another) nation. Allah only tries you by this; and He will most certainly make clear to you on the resurrection day that about which you differed.
Transliteration
Wala takoonoo kaallatee naqadat ghazlaha min baAAdi quwwatin ankathan tattakhithoona aymanakum dakhalan baynakum an takoona ommatun hiya arba min ommatin innama yablookumu Allahu bihi walayubayyinanna lakum yawma alqiyamati ma kuntum feehi takhtalifoona

তোমরা সেই নারীর মত হইও না, যে তাহার সূতা মযবুত করিয়া পাকাইবার পর উহার পাক খুলিয়া নষ্ট করিয়া দেয়। তোমাদের শপথ তোমরা পরস্পরকে প্রবঞ্চনা করিবার জন্য ব্যবহার করিয়া থাক, যাহাতে একদল অন্যদল অপেক্ষা অধিক লাভবান হও। তো ইহা দ্বারা কেবল তোমাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করেন। কিয়ামতের দিন তাহা নিশ্চয়ই স্পষ্টভাবে প্রকাশ করিয়া দিবেন যে বিষয়ে তোমরা মতভেদ করিতে।

And if Allah please He would certainly make you a single nation, but He causes to err whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases; and most certainly you will be questioned as to what you did.
Transliteration
Walaw shaa Allahu lajaAAalakum ommatan wahidatan walakin yudillu man yashao wayahdee man yashao walatusalunna AAamma kuntum taAAmaloona

ইচ্ছা করিলে তোমাদেরকে এক জাতি করিতে পারিতেন, কিন্তু তিনি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা বিভ্রান্ত করেন এবং যাহাকে ইচ্ছা সৎপথে পরিচালিত করেন। তোমরা যাহা কর সে বিষয়ে অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে প্রশ্ন করা হইবে।

And do not make your oaths a means of deceit between you, lest a foot should slip after its stability and you should taste evil because you turned away from Allah's way and grievous punishment be your (lot).
পরস্পর প্রবঞ্চনা করিবার জন্য তোমরা তোমাদের শপথকে ব্যবহার করিও না; করিলে পা স্থির হওয়ার পর পিছলাইয়া যাইবে এবং র পথে বাধা দেওয়ার কারণে তোমরা শাস্তির আস্বাদ গ্রহণ করিবে; তোমাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে মহাশাস্তি।
Shakir
And do not take a small price in exchange for Allah's covenant; surely what is with Allah is better for you, did you but know.
Transliteration
Wala tashtaroo biAAahdi Allahi thamanan qaleelan innama AAinda Allahi huwa khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

তোমরা র সঙ্গে কৃত অঙ্গীকার তুচ্ছ মূল্যে বিক্রয় করিও না। র নিকট যাহা আছে কেবল তাহাই তোমাদের জন্য উত্তম - যদি তোমরা জানিতে!

What is with you passes away and what is with Allah is enduring; and We will most certainly give to those who are patient their reward for the best of what they did.
Transliteration

তোমাদের নিকট যাহা আছে তাহা নিঃশেষ হইবে এবং র নিকট যাহা আছে তাহা স্থায়ী। যাহারা ধৈর্য ধারণ করে আমি নিশ্চয়ই তাহাদেরকে তাহারা যাহা করে তাহা অপেক্ষা শ্রেষ্ঠ পুরস্কার দান করিব।
Shakir
Whoever does good whether male or female and he is a believer, We will most certainly make him live a happy life, and We will most certainly give them their reward for the best of what they did.
Transliteration
Man AAamila salihan min thakarin aw ontha wahuwa muminun falanuhyiyannahu hayatan tayyibatan walanajziyannahum ajrahum biahsani ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

হইয়া পুরুষ ও নারীর মধ্যে যে কেউ সৎকর্ম করিবে তাহাকে আমি নিশ্চয়ই পবিত্র জীবন দান করিব এবং তাহাদেরকে তাহাদের কর্মের শ্রেষ্ঠ পুরস্কার দান করিব।
Shakir
So when you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaitan,
Transliteration
Faitha qarata alqurana faistaAAith biAllahi mina alshshaytani alrrajeemi

যখন কুরআন পাঠ করিবে তখন অভিশপ্ত শয়তান হইতে র শরণ লইবে।

Surely he has no authority over those who believe and rely on their Lord.
উহার আধিপত্য তো কেবল তাহাদেরই উপর যাহারা উহাকে অভিভাবকরূপে গ্রহণ করে এবং যাহারা র শরীক করে।
Shakir
And when We change (one) communication for (another) communication, and Allah knows best what He reveals, they say: You are only a forger. Nay, most of them do not know.
Transliteration
Waitha baddalnaayatan makana ayatin waAllahu aAAlamu bima yunazzilu qaloo innama anta muftarin bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona

আমি যখন এক আয়াতের পরিবর্তে অন্য এক আয়াত উপস্থিত করি - যাহা অবতীর্ণ করেন তাহা তিনিই ভাল জানেন, তখন তাহারা বলে, ‘তুমি তো কেবল মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবনকারী’; কিন্তু উহাদের অধিকাংশই জানে না।
Shakir
Say: The Holy spirit has revealed it from your Lord with the truth, that it may establish those who believe and as a guidance and good news for those who submit.
বল, ‘তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে রুহুল - কুদুস জিবরাঈল সত্যসহ কুরআন অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছে, যাহারা তাহাদেরকে দৃঢ় প্রতিষ্ঠিত করিবার জন্য এবং হিদায়াত ও সুসংবাদস্বরূপ মুসলিমদের জন্য।’
Shakir
And certainly We know that they say: Only a mortal teaches him. The tongue of him whom they reproach is barbarous, and this is clear Arabic tongue.
যাহারা র নিদর্শনে বিশ্বাস করে না তাহারা তো কেবল মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করে এবং তাহারাই মিথ্যাবাদী।
Shakir
He who disbelieves in Allah after his having believed, not he who is compelled while his heart is at rest on account of faith, but he who opens (his) breast to disbelief - - on these is the wrath of Allah, and they shall have a grievous chastisement.
Transliteration
Man kafara biAllahi min baAAdi eemanihi illa man okriha waqalbuhu mutmainnun bialeemani walakin man sharaha bialkufri sadran faAAalayhim ghadabun mina Allahi walahum AAathabun AAatheemun

কেহ তাহার ঈমান আনার পর কে অস্বীকার করিলে এবং কুফরীর জন্য হৃদয় উন্মুক্ত রাখিলে তাহার উপর আপতিত হইবে র গযব এবং তাহার জন্য আছে মহাশাস্তি; তবে তাহার জন্য নয়, যাহাকে কুফরীর জন্য বাধ্য করা হয় কিন্তু তাহার চিত্ত ঈমানে অবিচলিত।

This is because they love this world's life more than the hereafter, and because Allah does not guide the unbelieving people.
Transliteration
Thalika biannahumu istahabboo alhayata alddunya AAala alakhirati waanna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alkafireena

ইহা এইজন্য যে, তাহারা দুনিয়ার জীবনকে আখিরাতের উপর প্রাধান্য দেয় এবং সম্প্রদায়কে হিদায়াত করেন না।

These are they on whose hearts and their hearing and their eyes Allah has set a seal, and these are the heedless ones.
উহারাই তাহারা, যাহাদের অন্তর, কর্ণ ও চক্ষু মোহর করিয়া দিয়াছেন এবং উহারাই গাফিল।
Shakir
No doubt that in the hereafter they will be the losers.

La jarama annahum fee alakhirati humu alkhasiroona

নিশ্চয়ই উহারা তো আখিরাতে হইবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।
Shakir
Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who fly after they are persecuted, then they struggle hard and are patient, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful.
Transliteration
Thumma inna rabbaka lillatheena hajaroo min baAAdi ma futinoo thumma jahadoo wasabaroo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun

যাহারা নির্যাতিত হইবার পর হিজরত করে, পরে জিহাদ করে এবং ধৈর্য ধারণ করেন, তোমার প্রতিপালক এই সবের পর, তাহাদের প্রতি অবশ্যই ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
Shakir
(Remember) the day when every soul shall come, pleading for itself and every soul shall be paid in full what it has done, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.
Transliteration
Yawma tatee kullu nafsin tujadilu AAan nafsiha watuwaffa kullu nafsin ma AAamilat wahum la yuthlamoona

স্মরণ কর সেই দিনকে, যেদিন প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি আত্মসমর্থনে যুক্তি উপস্থিত করিতে আসিবে এবং প্রত্যেককে তাহার কৃতকর্মের পূর্ণফল দেওয়া হইবে। এবং তাহাদের প্রতি জুলুম করা হইবে না।
Shakir
And Allah sets forth a parable: (Consider) a town safe and secure to which its means of subsistence come in abundance from every quarter; but it became ungrateful to Allah's favors, therefore Allah made it to taste the utmost degree of hunger and fear because of what they wrought.
দৃষ্টান্ত দিতেছেন এক জনপদের যাহা ছিল নিরাপদ ও নিশ্চিন্ত, যেখানে আসিত সর্বদিক হইতে উহার প্রচুর জীবনোপকরণ; অতঃপর উহা র অনুগ্রহ অস্বীকার করিল, ফলে তাহারা যাহা করিত তজ্জন্য তাহাদেরকে স্বাদ গ্রহণ করাইলেন ক্ষুধা ও ভীতির আচ্ছাদনের।
Shakir
And certainly there came to them an Apostle from among them, but they rejected him, so the punishment overtook them while they were unjust.
তোমাদেরকে হালাল ও পবিত্র যাহা দিয়াছেন তাহা হইতে তোমরা আহার কর এবং র অনুগ্রহের জন্য কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর যদি তোমরা কেবল তাঁহারই ‘ইবাদত কর।
Shakir
He has only forbidden you what dies of itself and blood and flesh of swine and that over which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, but whoever is driven to necessity, not desiring nor exceeding the limit, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
তো কেবল মৃত জন্তু, রক্ত, শূকর - মাংস এবং যাহা যবেহকালে র পরিবর্তে অন্যের নাম লওয়া হইয়াছে তাহাই তোমাদের জন্য হারাম করিয়াছেন, কিন্তু কেহ অবাধ্য কিংবা সীমা লঙ্ঘনকারী না হইয়া অনোন্যপায় হইলে তো ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
Shakir
And, for what your tongues describe, do not utter the lie, (saying) This is lawful and this is unlawful, in order to forge a lie against Allah; surely those who forge the lie against Allah shall not prosper.
Transliteration
Wala taqooloo lima tasifu alsinatukumu alkathiba hathahalalun wahathaharamun litaftaroo AAala Allahi alkathiba inna allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba la yuflihoona

তোমাদের জিহ্বা মিথ্যা আরোপ করে বলিয়া র প্রতি মিথ্যা আরোপ করিবার জন্য তোমরা বলিও না, ‘ইহা হালাল এবং উহা হারাম।’ নিশ্চয়ই যাহারা সম্বন্ধে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করিবে তাহারা হইবে না।

A little enjoyment and they shall have a painful punishment.
Transliteration
MataAAun qaleelun walahum AAathabun aleemun

উহাদের সুখ - সম্ভোগ সামান্যই এবং উহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
Shakir
And for those who were Jews We prohibited what We have related to you already, and We did them no injustice, but they were unjust to themselves.
Transliteration
WaAAala allatheena hadoo harramna ma qasasna AAalayka min qablu wamathalamnahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

ইয়াহূদীদের জন্য আমি তো কেবল তাহাই হারাম করিয়াছিলাম যাহা তোমার নিকট আমি পূর্বে উল্লেখ করিয়াছি এবং আমি উহাদের উপর কোন জুলুম করি নাই, কিন্তু উহারাই জুলুম করিত নিজেদের প্রতি।

Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who do an evil in ignorance, then turn after that and make amends, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful.
Transliteration
Thumma inna rabbaka lillatheena AAamiloo alssooa bijahalatin thumma taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun

অতঃপর যাহারা অজ্ঞতাবশত মন্দ কর্ম করে তাহারা পরে তওবা করিলে ও নিজেদেরকে সংশোধন করিলে তাহাদের জন্য তোমার প্রতিপালক অবশ্য অতি ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

Surely Ibrahim was an exemplar, obedient to Allah, upright, and he was not of the polytheists.
Transliteration
Inna ibraheema kana ommatan qanitan lillahi haneefan walam yaku mina almushrikeena

ইব্রাহিম ছিল এক ‘উম্মত’, র অনুগত, একনিষ্ঠ এবং সে ছিল না মুশরিকদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত;

Grateful for His favors; He chose him and guided him on the right path.
আমি তাহাকে দুনিয়ায় দিয়াছিলাম মঙ্গল এবং আখিরাতেও, সে নিশ্চয়ই সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের অন্যতম।

Then We revealed to you: Follow the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists.
Transliteration
Thumma awhayna ilayka ani ittabiAA millata ibraheema haneefan wama kana mina almushrikeena

এখন আমি তোমাদের প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ করিলাম, ‘তুমি একনিষ্ঠ ইব্রাহীমের ধর্মাদর্শ অনুসরণ কর; এবং সে মুশরিকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল না।

The Sabbath was ordained only for those who differed about it, and most surely your Lord will judge between them on the resurrection day concerning that about which they differed.
শনিবার পালন তো কেবল তাহাদের জন্য বাধ্যতামূলক করা হইয়াছিল, যাহারা এ সম্বন্ধে মতভেদ করিত। যে বিষয়ে উহারা মতভেদ করিত তোমার প্রতিপালক তো অবশ্যই কিয়ামতের দিন সে বিষয়ে উহাদের বিচার - মীমাংসা করিয়া দিবেন।
Shakir
Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and have disputations with them in the best manner; surely your Lord best knows those who go astray from His path, and He knows best those who follow the right way.
Transliteration
OdAAu ila sabeeli rabbika bialhikmati waalmawAAithati alhasanati wajadilhum biallatee hiya ahsanu inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena

তুমি মানুষকে তোমার প্রতিপালকের পথে আহ্বান কর হিকমত ও সদুপদেশ দ্বারা এবং উহাদের সঙ্গে তর্ক করিবে উত্তম পন্থায়। তোমার প্রতিপালক, তাঁহার পথ ছাড়িয়া কে বিপথগামী হয়, সে সম্বন্ধে সবিশেষ অবহিত এবং কাহারা সৎপথে আছে তাহাও তিনি সবিশেষ অবহিত।

And if you take your turn, then retaliate with the like of that with which you were afflicted; but if you are patient, it will certainly be best for those who are patient.
