Chapter 23, 118 verses
indeed are the believers,
সফল হয়েছে মুমিনরা,
The believers must (eventually) win through, -
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Who are humble in their prayers,
যারা তাদের সালাতে হয় বিনীত,
Those who humble themselves in their prayers;
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَٰشِعُونَ
And who keep aloof from what is vain,
যারা অর্থহীন কথাবার্তা থেকে থাকে বিরত,
Who avoid vain talk;
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
And who are givers of poor - rate,
যারা আত্মোন্নয়নে থাকে সক্রিয়,
Who are active in deeds of charity;
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَٰعِلُونَ
And who guard their private parts,
যারা নিজেদের যৌন জীবনকে করে হিফাযত,
Who abstain from sex,
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ
Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable,
নিজেদের স্ত্রী এবং অধিকারভুক্ত দাসীদের ছাড়া, তাতে তারা হবেনা তিরস্কৃত।
Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess, - for (in their case) they are free from blame,
إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits;
কিন্তু যারা এ ছাড়া অন্য কাউকেও কামনা করবে, তারা অবশ্যি গণ্য হবে সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী বলে।
But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors; -
فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ
And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant,
আর তারা রক্ষা করে নিজেদের আমানত ও অংগীকার,
Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants;
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ
And those who keep a guard on their prayers;
তাছাড়া তারা যত্নবান থাকে তাদের সালাতের প্রতি,
And who (strictly) guard their prayers; -
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
These are they who are the heirs,
এরাই হবে ওয়ারিশ।
These will be the heirs,
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein.
তারা ওয়ারিশ হবে ফেরদাউসের এবং সেখানেই হবে তারা চিরস্থায়ী।
Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever).
ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
And certainly We created man of an extract of clay,
আমরা মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করেছি মাটির উপাদান থেকে,
Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay);
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ
Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting - place,
তারপর তাকে আমরা নোতফা (শুক্রবিন্দু) হিসেবে স্থাপন করি এক নিরাপদ দুর্গে।
Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed;
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators.
তারপর আমরা নোতফাকে রূপান্তরিত করি আলাকা - তে (শক্তভাবে আঁটকে থাকা জিনিসে), তারপর আলাকা - কে রূপান্তরিত করি মুদগায় (পিন্ডতে), তারপর মুদগাকে রূপান্তরিত করি হাড় - অস্থিতে, তারপর হাড় - অস্থিকে ঢেকে দেই গোশ্ত দিয়ে, তারপর আমরা তাকে বানিয়ে নিই অন্য এক সৃষ্টি। সুতরাং সর্বোত্তম স্রষ্টা কতো যে বরকতওয়ালা!
Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create!
ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ
Then after that you will most surely die.
এরপর অবশ্যি তোমাদের মৃত্যু হবে।
After that, at length ye will die
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised.
তারপর তোমরা পুনরুত্থিত হবে কিয়ামতের দিন।
Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up.
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation.
আমরা তোমাদের উপরে সৃষ্টি করেছি সাতটি স্তর (আকাশ), সৃষ্টি সম্পর্কে আমরা গাফিল নই।
And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَٰفِلِينَ
And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away.
আর আমরা নাযিল করেছি আসমান থেকে পানি পরিমাণ মাফিক। সেই পানিকে আমরা সংরক্ষণ করেছি মাটিতে। আবার সে পানি আমরা নিয়ে যেতেও সক্ষম।
And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease).
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat;
অত:পর সেই পানি দিয়ে আমরা তোমাদের জন্যে সৃষ্টি করি খেজুর ও আঙ্গুরের বাগান, তাতে তোমাদের জন্যে হয় প্রচুর ফলন। তা থেকেই তোমরা খাও।
With it We grow for you gardens of date - palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment), -
فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat.
আমরা এক ধরনের গাছ সৃষ্টি করেছি, তা জন্মায় সিনাই পর্বতে। তাতে উৎপন্ন হয় তেল এবং ভোক্তাদের জন্যে ব্যঞ্জন।
Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food.
وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْءَاكِلِينَ
And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat,
তোমাদের জন্যে গবাদি পশুতে রয়েছে শিক্ষার বিষয়। তাদের পেটে যা (যে দুধ) আছে তা থেকে আমরা তোমাদের পান করাই। তা ছাড়া সেগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে তোমাদের জন্যে অনেক রকম উপকারিতা। আর তোমরা খেয়ে থাকো সেগুলো থেকে (সেগুলোর গোশত)।
And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat;
وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
And on them and on the ships you are borne.
সেগুলোতে এবং নৌযানে তোমরা আরোহন করে থাকো।
And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride.
وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
And certainly We sent Nuh to his people, and he said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)?
আমরা নূহকে পাঠিয়েছিলাম তার কওমের কাছে। সে তাদের বলেছিল: ‘হে আমার কওম! তোমরা এক আল্লাহর দাসত্ব করো, তোমাদের জন্যে তিনি ছাড়া আর কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই। তবু কি তোমরা সতর্ক হবেনা?’
(Further, We sent a long line of prophets for your instruction). We sent Noah to his people: He said, "O my people! worship Allah! Ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?"
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
And the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves who desires that he may have superiority over you, and if Allah had pleased, He could certainly have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our fathers of yore:
তখন তার কওমের নেতারা বলেছিল: ‘‘এ তো তোমাদেরই মতো একজন মানুষ ছাড়া কিছু নয়। সে তোমাদের উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব পেতে চায়। (রসূল পাঠাতে) চাইলে অবশ্যি ফেরেশতা পাঠাতেন। আমাদের আগেকার লোকদের সময় এ রকম ঘটনা ঘটেছে বলে তো আমরা শুনিনি।
The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old."
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَا
He is only a madman, so bear with him for a time.
সে আসলে একজন জিনে ধরা লোক। তোমরা এ ব্যাপারে কিছুদিন অপেক্ষা করো।’’
(And some said): "He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time."
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar.
তখন সে বলেছিল: ‘আমার প্রভু! আমাকে সাহায্য করো, কারণ তারা তো আমাকে মিথ্যা বলে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছে।’
(Noah) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!"
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
So We revealed to him, saying: Make the ark before Our eyes and (according to) Our revelation; and when Our command is given and the valley overflows, take into it of every kind a pair, two, and your followers, except those among them against whom the word has gone forth, and do not speak to Me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned.
তখন আমরা তাকে অহি পাঠিয়ে নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলাম, আমাদের তত্ত্বাবধানে আমাদের অহি অনুযায়ী একটি নৌযান তৈরি করো। যখন আমাদের নির্দেশ এসে যাবে এবং চুলা উথলে পানি উঠবে, তখন প্রত্যেক ধরনের জীব জানোয়ার একেক জোড়া উঠিয়ে নিয়ো এবং তোমার পরিবার পরিজনকেও নিয়ো, তাদেরকে ছাড়া, যাদের বিরুদ্ধে পূর্ব সিদ্ধান্ত রয়েছে। যারা যুলুম করেছে তাদের ব্যাপারে আমার কাছে সুপারিশ করোনা, কারণ তারা নিমজ্জিত হবেই।
So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family - except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong - doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood).
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَ
And when you are firmly seated, you and those with you, in the ark, say: All praise is due to Allah who delivered us from the unjust people:
অত:পর তুমি এবং তোমার সাথিরা যখন নৌযানে উঠে আসন গ্রহণ করবে, তখন বলবে: ‘সমস্ত প্রশংসা আল্লাহর, যিনি আমাদের নাজাত দিয়েছেন যালিম কওম থেকে!’
And when thou hast embarked on the Ark - thou and those with thee, - say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong."
فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And say: O my Lord! cause me to disembark a blessed alighting, and Thou art the best to cause to alight.
আরো বলবে: ‘আমার প্রভু! আমাকে অবতরণ করাও বরকতময় অবতরণের স্থানে, তুমিই তো অবতরণের জন্যে সর্বোত্তম স্থানদানকারী।’
And say: "O my Lord! enable me to disembark with thy blessing: for Thou art the Best to enable (us) to disembark."
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
Most surely there are signs in this, and most surely We are ever trying (men).
এর মধ্যে রয়েছে অনেক নিদর্শন। আমরা তো কেবল তাদের পরীক্ষা করেছিলাম।
Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (thus) do We try (men).
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ
Then We raised up after them another generation.
তাদের পর আমরা অন্য একটি প্রজন্মকে সৃষ্টি করেছিলাম।
Then We raised after them another generation.
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ
So We sent among them an apostle from among them, saying: Serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)?
আমরা তাদের মধ্য থেকেই তাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলাম একজন রসূল। সে তাদের বলেছিল: ‘তোমরা এক আল্লাহর দাসত্ব করো। তিনি ছাড়া তোমাদের আর কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই। তবু কি তোমরা সতর্ক হবেনা?’
And We sent to them a messenger from among themselves, (saying), "Worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?"
فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink.
তখন তার কওমের সেইসব প্রধানরা বলেছিল যারা আখিরাতের সাক্ষাতকে অস্বীকার করেছিল এবং যাদেরকে আমরা দিয়েছিলাম পার্থিব জীবনে প্রচুর ভোগের সামগ্রী: ‘‘এতো তোমাদের মতোই একজন মানুষ ছাড়া আর কিছু নয়। সে তো তাই খায়, তোমরা যা খাও এবং তাই পান করে, তোমরা যা পান করো।
And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink.
وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَش
And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers:
তোমরা যদি তোমাদের মতো মানুষের আনুগত্য করো, তবে অবশ্যি তোমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবে।
"If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost.
وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ
What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth?
সে কি তোমাদের এই ওয়াদা দেয় যে, তোমরা যখন মরে যাবে এবং মাটি ও হাড় - অস্থিতে পরিণত হবে তখনো তোমাদের বের করে আনা হবে?
"Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)?
أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ
Far, far is that which you are threatened with.
অবসম্ভব, তোমাদের যে ওয়াদা দেয়া হয়েছে তা অসম্ভব।
"Far, very far is that which ye are promised!
هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again.
আমাদের দুনিয়ার হায়াতই একমাত্র হায়াত, এখানেই আমরা মরি এবং বাঁচি এবং আমরা কখনো পুনরুত্থিত হবোনা।
"There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again!
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him.
সে তো এমন একজন ব্যক্তি, যে মিথ্যা রচনা করে নিয়ে আল্লাহর নামে চালায়। আমরা তাকে বিশ্বাস করবোনা।’’
"He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!"
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar.
(তখন) সে বললো: ‘প্রভু! আমাকে সাহায্য করো, তারা আমাকে মিথ্যা বলে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছে।’
(The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood."
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting.
() বললেন: ‘অল্প কিছুদিন পরেই তারা অনুতপ্ত হবে।’
(Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!"
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَٰدِمِينَ
So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people.
পরে বাস্তবিকই এক প্রচন্ড শব্দ আঘাত হানে তাদের উপর। ফলে আমরা তাদের বানিয়ে দিলাম তরঙ্গ বিধ্বস্ত আবর্জনার স্তূপের মতো। এভাবেই দূর হয়ে গেলো যালিম কওম।
Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong!
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ غُثَآءً فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Then We raised after them other generations.
তাদের পরে আমরা সৃষ্টি করেছি আরো অনেক প্রজন্ম।
Then We raised after them other generations.
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ
No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it).
কোনো উম্মতই তাদের জন্যে নির্ধারিত সময়কে ত্বরান্বিতও করতে পারেনা এবং অতিক্রমও করতে পারেনা।
No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it).
مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe!
তারপর আমরা একের পর এক রসূল পাঠিয়েছি। যখনই কোনো উম্মতের কাছে তাদের রসূল এসেছিল, তারা তাকে মিথ্যা বলে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছে। ফলে আমরা তাদের ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি একের পর এক এবং তাদের বানিয়ে দিয়েছি ইতিহাসের আলোচ্য বিষয়। ধ্বংস হোক সেইসব লোক যারা ঈমান আনেনা।
Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe!
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority,
এর পরে পাঠিয়েছি আমরা মূসা এবং তার ভাই হারূণকে আমাদের আয়াত এবং সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ নিয়ে,
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest,
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people.
ফেরাউন এবং তার (জাতির) নেতাদের কাছে। কিন্তু তারা অহংকার করে। আর তারা ছিলো একটি উদ্ধত কওম।
To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people.
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ
And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us?
তারা বলেছিল: ‘আমরা কি আমাদের মতোই দু’জন মানুষের প্রতি ঈমান আনবো যেখানে তাদের সম্প্রদায় (বনি ইসরাঈল) আমাদেরই দাসত্ব করে?’
They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!"
فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَٰبِدُونَ
So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed.
তারা তাদের দু’জনকেই প্রত্যাখ্যান করে, ফলে তারা হয়ে গেলো ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্তদের অন্তরভুক্ত।
So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed.
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ
And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction.
আমরা মূসাকে কিতাব দিয়েছিলাম, যাতে করে তারা সঠিক পথ পায়।
And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs.
আমরা মরিয়মের পুত্র (ঈসা) এবং তার মাকে বানিয়েছিলাম একটি নিদর্শন। আমরা তাদের আশ্রয় দিয়েছিলাম এক নিরাপদ ও ঝরণা বিশিষ্ট টিলায়।
And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs.
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ
O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do.
হে রসূলরা! তোমরা উত্তম - পবিত্র জিনিস খাও এবং আমলে সালেহ্ করো। তোমরা যা করো সে সম্পর্কে আমি জ্ঞাত।
O ye messengers! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well - acquainted with (all) that ye do.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَٰلِحًا إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me.
তোমাদের এই উম্মত মূলত একটিই উম্মত এবং আমিই তোমাদের রব। সুতরাং তোমরা আমাকেই ভয় করো।
And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other).
وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ
But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them.
কিন্তু তারা নিজেদের মধ্যে তাদের দীনকে বহুধা বিভক্ত করে ফেলেছে, প্রত্যেক উপদলই তাদের কাছে যা আছে, তাই নিয়ে সন্তুষ্ট।
But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself.
فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till
সুতরাং কিছুকালের জন্যে তাদেরকে তাদের বিভ্রান্তিতে পড়ে থাকতে দাও।
But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time.
فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children,
তারা কি মনে করে যে, আমরা তাদের যে ধনমাল ও সন্তান সন্ততি দিয়ে সাহায্য করছি,
Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons,
أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ
We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive.
তা দিয়ে তাদের কল্যাণ ত্বরান্বিত করছি? না, তারা বুঝেনা।
We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand.
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious,
নিশ্চয়ই যারা ভীত সন্ত্রস্ত থাকে তাদের প্রভুর ভয়ে,
Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord;
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ
And those who believe in the communications of their Lord,
যারা ঈমান রাখে তাদের প্রভুর আয়াতের প্রতি,
Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord;
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord,
যারা শিরক করেনা তাদের প্রভুর সাথে,
Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord;
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return,
এবং তাদেরকে যা দান করা হয়েছে, তাদের প্রভুর কাছে ফিরে আসতে হবে এই বিশ্বাসে তা থেকে দান করে ভীত কম্পিত মনে,
And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord; -
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ
These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them.
এরাই তৎপর কল্যাণকর কাজে এবং এরাই তাতে অগ্রগামী।
It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ
And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.
আমরা কোনো ব্যক্তির উপরই তার সাধ্যের বাইরে দায়িত্বের বোঝা চাপাইনা। আমাদের কাছে রয়েছে একটি কিতাব যা সত্য বলে দেয়। আর তাদের প্রতি কোনো প্রকার যুলুম করা হবেনা।
On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged.
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do.
বরং এ বিষয়ে তাদের কলবগুলো হয়ে রয়েছে অজ্ঞতায় আচ্ছন্ন। এ ছাড়া তাদের আরো অনেক (মন্দ) কাজ আছে, সেগুলো তারা করে থাকে,
But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do, -
بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰمِلُونَ
Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor.
যতোদিন না আমরা তাদের বিলাসী প্রতিপত্তিশালীদেরকে আযাবের আঘাতে পাকড়াও করি। যখন তা করি তখন তারা আর্তনাদ করতে থাকে।
Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication!
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ
Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us.
(কিয়ামতের দিন তাদের বলা হবে:) আজ আর্তনাদ করোনা। তোমরা কিছুতেই আজ আমাদের সাহায্য পাবেনা।
(It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us.
لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ
My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels,
তোমাদের কাছে তো আমাদের আয়াত তিলাওয়াত করা হতো, তখন তোমরা পেছনে ফিরে কেটে পড়তে,
"My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels -
قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ
In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night.
দাম্ভিকের মতো - এ সম্পর্কে রাত্রে নিরর্থক কল্পকথা বলতে বলতে।
"In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night."
مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَٰمِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old?
তারা কি এ বাণী অনুধাবন করার চেষ্টা করেনা, না কি তাদের কাছে এমন কিছু এসেছে যা তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের কাছে আসেনি?
Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old?
أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him?
না কি তারা তাদের রসূলকে চিনতে পারেনা বলে তাকে অস্বীকার করে?
Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him?
أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth.
না কি তারা বলে: ‘সে তো একজন জিনে ধরা লোক?’ না, বরং সে তাদের কাছে ‘হক’ (মহাসত্য) নিয়ে এসেছে এবং তাদের অধিকাংশ লোকই সত্যকে অপছন্দ করে।
Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ
And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside.
সত্য যদি তাদের প্রবৃত্তির অনুসরণ করতো, তাহলে মহাকাশ, পৃথিবী এবং এ দুয়ের মাঝে যা কিছু আছে সর্বত্র ফাসাদ সৃষ্টি হয়ে যেতো। বরং আমরা তাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছি তাদের উপদেশ, আর তারা তাদের উপদেশ থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়েছে।
If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition.
وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance.
তুমি কি তাদের কাছে পারিশ্রমিক চাইছো? তোমার প্রভুর প্রতিদানই তোমার জন্যে উত্তম। তিনিই সর্বোত্তম রিযিকদাতা।
Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance.
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
And most surely you invite them to a right way.
তুমি তো তাদের আহবান করছো সিরাতুল মুস্তাকিমের দিকে।
But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way;
وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way.
যারা আখিরাতের প্রতি ঈমান আনেনা তারা সেই সিরাত (পথ) থেকে বিচ্যুত।
And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way.
وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَٰكِبُونَ
And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.
আমরা যদি তাদের প্রতি রহমত করতাম এবং তাদের দুঃখ দুর্দশাও দূর করে দিতাম, তবু তারা তাদের অবাধ্যতা নিয়েই বিভ্রান্তের মতো ঘুরে বেড়াতো।
If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro.
وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves.
আমরা তাদের আযাব দিয়ে পাকড়াও করেছি, কিন্তু তখনো তারা তাদের প্রভুর প্রতি বিনত হয়নি এবং বিনয়ের সাথে ফরিয়াদও করেনি তাঁর কাছে।
We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)! -
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it.
অবশেষে যখন আমরা তাদের জন্যে কঠিন আযাবের দুয়ার খুলে দেই, তখন তাতে তারা হতাশ হয়ে পড়ে থাকে।
Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein!
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
And He it is Who made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts; little is it that you give thanks.
তিনিই তো তোমাদের জন্যে সৃষ্টি করে দিয়েছেন কান, চোখ এবং হৃদয়। কিন্তু তোমরা খুব কমই শোকর আদায় করো।
It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of) hearing, sight, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give!
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
And He it is Who multiplied you in the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered.
তিনিই পৃথিবীতে তোমাদের বংশ বিস্তার করে দিয়েছেন এবং তাঁর দিকেই তোমাদের হাশর (সমবেত) করা হবে।
And He has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered back.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
And He it is Who gives life and causes death, and (in) His (control) is the alternation of the night and the day; do you not then understand?
তিনিই তো হায়াত দান করেন এবং মউত ঘটান। রাত এবং দিনের আবর্তন তাঁরই কর্তৃত্বে। তবু কি তোমরা আকল খাটাবেনা?
It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of Night and Day: will ye not then understand?
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Nay, they say the like of what the ancients said:
বরং তারা সে রকমই বলে, যে রকম বলেছে তাদের আগেকার লোকেরা।
On the contrary they say things similar to what the ancients said.
بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
They say: What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be raised?
তারা বলে: ‘‘আমরা যখন মরে যাবো এবং মাটি আর হাড়ে পরিণত হবো, তখন কি আমাদের পুনর্জীবিত করা হবে?
They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again?
قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Certainly we are promised this, and (so were) our fathers aforetime; this is naught but stories of those of old.
আমাদেরকে তো এর ওয়াদা দেয়া হয়েছে এবং এর আগে দেয়া হয়েছে আমাদের পূর্ব পুরুষদেরকেও। আসলে এতো সেকালের কাহিনী ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়।’’
"Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!"
لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Say: Whose is the earth, and whoever is therein, if you know?
হে নবী! তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করো! পৃথিবী এবং তার মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে সেগুলো কার, যদি তোমরা জানো, তবে বলো?
Say: "To whom belong the earth and all beings therein? (say) if ye know!"
قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
They will say: Allah's. Say: Will you not then mind?
অবশ্যি তারা বলবে: ‘আল্লাহর।’ বলো: ‘তবে কেন শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করোনা?’
They will say, "To Allah!" say: "Yet will ye not receive admonition?"
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Say: Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the mighty dominion?
হে নবী! তাদের জিজ্ঞেস করো: ‘সাত আকাশ এবং আরশে আযিমের রব কে?’
Say: "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme?"
قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)?
অবিলম্বেই তারা বলবে: ‘ ।’ বলো: ‘তবে কেন তোমরা সতর্ক হওনা?’
They will say, "(They belong) to Allah." Say: "Will ye not then be filled with awe?"
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Say: Who is it in Whose hand is the kingdom of all things and Who gives succor, but against Him Succor is not given, if you do but know?
হে নবী! তাদের জিজ্ঞেস করো: কার মুষ্টিবদ্ধ রয়েছে সবকিছুর কর্তৃত্ব, যিনি সবাইকে আশ্রয় দেন এবং যাঁর উপর কোনো আশ্রয়দাতা নেই? যদি তোমরা জানো, বলো।
Say: "Who is it in whose hands is the governance of all things, - who protects (all), but is not protected (of any)? (say) if ye know."
قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: From whence are you then deceived?
অবিলম্বেই তারা বলবে: ‘।’ বলো: ‘তবে কোন্ দিকে তোমরা মোহগ্রস্ত হচ্ছো?’
They will say, "(It belongs) to Allah." Say: "Then how are ye deluded?"
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ
Nay! We have brought to them the truth, and most surely they are liars.
বরং আমরা তাদের কাছে সত্য পৌঁছে দিয়েছি, কিন্তু তারা অবশ্য অবশ্যি মিথ্যাবাদী।
We have sent them the Truth: but they indeed practise falsehood!
بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other) god - - in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe!
কোনো সন্তান গ্রহণ করেননি, তাঁর সাথে আর কোনো ইলাহ্ও নেই। যদি থাকতোই, তবে তো প্রত্যেক ইলাহ্ নিজ নিজ সৃষ্টি নিয়ে আলাদা হয়ে যেতো এবং তারা একে অপরের উপর প্রাধান্য বিস্তারে উঠে পড়ে লাগতো। তারা যা আরোপ করে, তা থেকে সম্পূর্ণ পবিত্র ও মহান।
No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him!
مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
The Knower of the unseen and the seen, so may He be exalted above what they associate (with Him).
তিনি গায়েবের জ্ঞানী এবং দৃশ্যেরও। তারা তাঁর সাথে যা শরিক করে তিনি তা থেকে অনেক উপরে।
He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him!
عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ فَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Say: O my Lord! if Thou shouldst make me see what they are threatened with:
(হে নবী!) বলো: ‘‘আমার প্রভু! যে (আযাবের) বিষয়ে তাদের ওয়াদা দেয়া হচ্ছে, তা যদি তুমি আমার জীবদ্দশায় সংঘটিত করো,
Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against, -
قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ
My Lord! then place me not with the unjust.
তবে, হে প্রভু! আমাকে যালিম লোকদের অন্তরভুক্ত করোনা।’’
"Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!"
رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And most surely We are well able to make you see what We threaten them with.
আমরা তাদের যে বিষয়ের ওয়াদা দিচ্ছি, তা (তোমার জীবদ্দশায়ই) তোমাকে দেখাতে অবশ্যি আমরা সক্ষম।
And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned.
وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe.
মন্দের মুকাবেলায় তাই করো যা সর্বোত্তম। তারা যা আরোপ করে সে বিষয়ে আমরা অধিক জানি।
Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say.
ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ
And say: O my Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Shaitans;
হে নবী! বলো: ‘‘আমার প্রভু! আমি তোমার কাছে পানাহ চাই শয়তানের কুপ্ররোচনা থেকে।
And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones.
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
And I seek refuge in Thee! O my Lord! from their presence.
আমি তোমার কাছে আরো পানাহ্ চাই আমার কাছে তাদের (শয়তানদের) হাজির হওয়া থেকে।’’
"And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me."
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
Until when death overtakes one of them, he says: Send me back, my Lord, send me back;
যখন তাদের কারো মউতের সময় এসে পড়ে, তখন সে বলে: ‘‘প্রভু! আমাকে পুনরায় (পৃথিবীতে) পাঠাও।
(In Falsehood will they be) Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life), -
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرْجِعُونِ
Haply I may do good in that which I have left. By no means! it is a (mere) word that he speaks; and before them is a barrier until the day they are raised.
যাতে আমি ভালো কাজ করতে পারি, যা আমি আগে করিনি।’’ কখনো নয়, এতো কথার কথা মাত্র। আর তাদের সামনেই আছে বরযখ পুনরুত্থান কাল পর্যন্ত।
"In order that I may work righteousness in the things I neglected." - "By no means! It is but a word he says." - Before them is a Partition till the Day they are raised up.
لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other.
যখন ফুঁ দেয়া হবে শিঙ্গায়, সেদিন তাদের মাঝে আর কোনো বংশীয় বন্ধন থাকবেনা এবং কেউ কারো কথা জিজ্ঞাসাও করবেনা।
Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no more relationships between them that Day, nor will one ask after another!
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Then as for him whose good deeds are preponderant, these are the .
তখন ভারি হবে যাদের (নেকীর) পাল্লা, তারাই হবে সাফল্য অর্জনকারী।
Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy, - they will attain salvation:
فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
And as for him whose good deeds are light, these are they who shall have lost their souls, abiding in hell
এবং হালকা হবে যাদের (নেকীর) পাল্লা, তারা হলো সেইসব লোক যারা নিজেদের ক্ষতি করেছে, চিরকাল থাকবে তারা জাহান্নামে।
But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide.
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدُونَ
The fire shall scorch their faces, and they therein shall be in severe affliction.
আগুন দগ্ধ করতে থাকবে তাদের চেহারা এবং তারা সেখানে থাকবে বীভৎস চেহারা নিয়ে।
The Fire will burn their faces, and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced.
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَٰلِحُونَ
Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them.
(তাদের বলা হবে:) ‘তোমাদের কাছে কি আমাদের আয়াতসমূহ তিলাওয়াত করা হতোনা? এবং তোমরা সেটাকে মিথ্যা বলে প্রত্যাখ্যান করতে না?’
"Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?"
أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
They shall say: O our Lord! our adversity overcame us and we were an erring people:
তারা বলবে: ‘‘আমাদের প্রভু! আমাদের বদ নসিব আমাদের উপর বিজয়ী হয়েছে আর মূলতই আমরা ছিলাম একটি বিপথগামী কওম।
They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray!
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ
O our Lord! Take us out of it; then if we return (to evil) surely we shall be unjust.
আমাদের প্রভু! এখন আমাদেরকে এখান থেকে বের করে দাও। এরপরও যদি আমরা কুফুরিতে ফিরে যাই, তবে অবশ্যি আমরা যালিম হিসেবেই গণ্য হবো।’’
"Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong - doers indeed!"
رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَٰلِمُونَ
He shall say: Go away into it and speak not to Me;
তিনি বলবেন: ‘তোমরা এখানেই নিকৃষ্ট অবস্থায় পড়ে থাকো এবং আমার সাথে তোমরা আর কথা বলোনা।’
He will say: "Be ye driven into it (with ignominy)! And speak ye not to Me!
قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
Surely there was a party of My servants who said: O our Lord! we believe, so do Thou forgive us and have mercy on us, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones.
আমার একদল বান্দা বলতো: ‘আমাদের প্রভু! আমরা ঈমান এনেছি, তাই তুমি আমাদের ক্ষমা করে দাও এবং আমাদের প্রতি রহম করো, আর তুমিই তো সর্বোত্তম রহমওয়ালা।’
"A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!"
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
But you took them for a mockery until they made you forget My remembrance and you used to laugh at them.
কিন্তু তোমরা তাদের নিয়ে বিদ্রুপ করতে আর সেই বিদ্রুপ তোমাদেরকে আমার কথা ভুলিয়ে দিয়েছিল। তোমরা তো তাদের নিয়ে হাসি ঠাট্টাই করছিলে।
"But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them!
فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
Surely I have rewarded them this day because they were patient, that they are the achievers.
তাদের সবর অবলম্বনের কারণে আমি তাদের এমন জেযা (প্রতিদান) দিয়েছি যে, আজ তারাই ।
"I have rewarded them this Day for their patience and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have achieved Bliss..."
إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
He will say: How many years did you tarry in the earth?
তিনি জিজ্ঞেস করবেন: ‘তোমরা পৃথিবীতে কয় বছর অবস্থান করেছিলে?’
He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?"
قَٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
They will say: We tarried a day or part of a day, but ask those who keep account.
তারা বলবে: ‘আমরা সেখানে অবস্থান করেছিলাম একদিন কিংবা দিনের কিছু অংশ। গণনাকারীদের জিজ্ঞাসা করে দেখুন।’
They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account."
قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
He will say: You did tarry but a little - - had you but known (it):
তিনি বলবেন: তোমরা অল্পকালই সেখানে অবস্থান করেছিলে, যদি তোমরা জানতে!
He will say: "Ye stayed not but a little, - if ye had only known!
قَٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
What! did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us?
তোমরা কি ধরে নিয়েছিলে যে, আমরা বিনা কারণেই তোমাদের সৃষ্টি করেছিলাম? আর তোমাদেরকে আমাদের কাছে ফিরিয়ে আনা হবেনা ?
"Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?"
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion.
অতীব মহান প্রকৃত সম্রাট, কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই তিনি ছাড়া। সম্মানিত আরশের তিনি মালিক।
Therefore exalted be Allah, the King, the Reality: there is no god but He, the Lord of the Throne of Honour!
فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
And whoever invokes with Allah another god - - he has no proof of this - - his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be .
যে কেউ আল্লাহর সাথে অন্য কাউকে ইলাহ্ ডাকে, এ বিষয়ে তার কাছে কোনো সত্যায়নপত্র নেই। তার হিসাব হবে তার প্রভুর কাছে। কাফিররা কখনো সফলতা অর্জন করেনা।
If anyone invokes, besides Allah, Any other god, he has no authority therefor; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord! and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through!
وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones.
হে নবী! তুমি বলো: ‘আমার প্রভু!, ক্ষমা করো এবং রহম করো, আর তুমিই তো সর্বোত্তম রহমওয়ালা।’
So say: "O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!"
وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
