Chapter 23, 118 verses
indeed are the believers,
অবশ্যই হইয়াছে মু’মিনগণ,
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. indeed are the believers
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Who are humble in their prayers,
যাহারা বিনয় - নম্র নিজেদের সালাতে,
Who are humble in their prayers,
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَٰشِعُونَ
And who keep aloof from what is vain,
যাহারা অসার ক্রিয়াকলাপ হইতে বিরত থাকে,
And who shun vain conversation,
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
And who are givers of poor - rate,
যাহারা যাকাতদানে সক্রিয়,
And who are payers of the poor - due;
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَٰعِلُونَ
And who guard their private parts,
যাহারা নিজেদের যৌন অঙ্গকে সংযত রাখে,
And who guard their modesty -
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ
Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable,
নিজেদের পত্নী অথবা অধিকারভুক্ত দাসিগণ ব্যতীত, ইহাতে তাহারা নিন্দনীয় হইবে না,
Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy,
إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits;
এবং কেহ ইহাদেরকে ছাড়া অন্যকে কামনা করিলে তাহারা হইবে সীমালংঘনকারী,
But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors -
فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ
And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant,
এবং যাহারা নিজেদের আমানত ও প্রতিশ্রুতি রক্ষা করে,
And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant,
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ
And those who keep a guard on their prayers;
এবং যাহারা নিজেদের সালাতসমূহে যত্নবান থাকে,
And who pay heed to their prayers.
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
These are they who are the heirs,
তাহারাই হইবে অধিকারী -
These are the heirs
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein.
অধিকারী হইবে ফিরদাওসের যাহাতে উহারা স্থায়ী হইবে।
Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide.
ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
And certainly We created man of an extract of clay,
আমি তো মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছি মৃত্তিকার উপাদান হইতে,
Verily We created man from a product of wet earth;
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ
Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting - place,
অতঃপর আমি উহাকে শুক্রবিন্দুরূপে স্থাপন করি এক নিরাপদ আধারে;
Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging;
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators.
পরে আমি শুক্রবিন্দুকে পরিণত করি আলাক - এ, অতঃপর আলাক্কে পরিণত করি পিণ্ডে এবং পিণ্ডকে পরিণত করি অস্থি - পঞ্জরে ; অতঃপর অস্থি - পঞ্জরকে ঢাকিয়া দেই গোশ্ত দ্বারা; অবশেষে উহাকে গড়িয়া তুলি অন্য এক সৃষ্টিরূপে। অতএব সর্বোত্তম স্রষ্টা কত মহান!
Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators!
ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ
Then after that you will most surely die.
ইহার পর তোমরা অবশ্যই মরিবে,
Then lo! after that ye surely die.
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised.
অতঃপর কিয়ামতের দিন অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে উত্থিত করা হইবে।
Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again).
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation.
আমি তো তোমাদের ঊর্ধ্বে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছি সপ্তস্তর এবং আমি সৃষ্টি বিষয়ে অসতর্ক নই,
And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَٰفِلِينَ
And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away.
এবং আমি আকাশ হইতে বারি বর্ষণ করি পরিমিতভাবে; অতঃপর আমি উহা মৃত্তিকায় সংরক্ষণ করি; আমি উহাকে অপসারিত করিতেও সক্ষম।
And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it.
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat;
অতঃপর আমি উহা দ্বারা তোমাদের জন্য খর্জুর ও আংগুরের বাগান সৃষ্টি করি; ইহাতে তোমাদের জন্য আছে প্রচুর ফল; আর উহা হইতে তোমরা আহার করিয়া থাক;
Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date - palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat;
فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat.
এবং সৃষ্টি করি এক বৃক্ষ যাহা জন্মায় সিনাই পর্বতে, ইহাতে উৎপন্ন হয় তৈল এবং আহারকারীদের জন্য ব্যঞ্জন।
And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters.
وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْءَاكِلِينَ
And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat,
এবং তোমাদের জন্য অবশ্যই শিক্ষণীয় বিষয় আছে আন‘আম - এ; তোমাদেরকে আমি পান করাই উহাদের উদরে যাহা আছে তাহা হইতে এবং উহাতে তোমাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে প্রচুর উপকারিতা; তোমরা উহা হইতে আহার কর,
And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat;
وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
And on them and on the ships you are borne.
এবং তোমরা উহাতে ও নৌযানে আরোহণও করিয়া থাক।
And on them and on the ship ye are carried.
وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
And certainly We sent Nuh to his people, and he said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)?
আমি তো নূহকে পাঠাইয়াছিলাম তাহার সম্প্রদায়ের নিকট। সে বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমার সম্প্রদায়! র ‘ইবাদত কর, তিনি ব্যতীত তোমাদের অন্য কোন ইলাহ্ নাই, তবুও কি তোমরা সাবধান হইবে না?’
And We verily sent Noah unto his folk, and he said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other God save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
And the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves who desires that he may have superiority over you, and if Allah had pleased, He could certainly have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our fathers of yore:
তাহার সম্প্রদায়ের প্রধানরা, যাহারা করিয়াছিল, তাহারা বলিল, ‘এ তো তোমাদের মত একজন মানুষই, তোমাদের উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব লাভ করিতে চাহিতেছে, ইচ্ছা করিলে ফিরিশ্তাই পাঠাইতেন; আমরা তো আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষগণের কালে এইরূপ ঘটিয়াছে, একথা শুনি নাই।
But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: This is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. We heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old.
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَا
He is only a madman, so bear with him for a time.
‘এ তো এমন লোক যাহাকে উন্মত্ততা পাইয়া বসিয়াছে; সুতরাং তোমরা ইহার সম্পর্কে কিছুকাল অপেক্ষা কর।’
He is only a man in whom is a madness, so watch him for a while.
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar.
নূহ্ বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমাকে সাহায্য কর, কারণ উহারা আমাকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলিতেছে।’
He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me.
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
So We revealed to him, saying: Make the ark before Our eyes and (according to) Our revelation; and when Our command is given and the valley overflows, take into it of every kind a pair, two, and your followers, except those among them against whom the word has gone forth, and do not speak to Me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned.
অতঃপর আমি তাহার নিকট ওহী পাঠাইলাম, ‘তুমি আমার তত্ত্বাবধানে ও আমার ওহী অনুযায়ী নৌযান নির্মাণ কর, অতঃপর যখন আমার আদেশ আসিবে ও উনুন উথলিয়া উঠিবে তখন উঠাইয়া লইও প্রত্যেক জীবের এক এক জোড়া এবং তোমার পরিবার - পরিজনকে, তাহাদেরকে ছাড়া তাহাদের মধ্যে যাহাদের বিরুদ্ধে পূর্বে সিদ্ধান্ত হইয়াছে। আর তাহাদের সম্পর্কে তুমি আমাকে কিছু বলিও না যাহারা জুলুম করিয়াছে। তাহারা তো নিমজ্জিত হইবে।
Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong. Lo! they will be drowned.
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَ
And when you are firmly seated, you and those with you, in the ark, say: All praise is due to Allah who delivered us from the unjust people:
যখন তুমি ও তোমার সঙ্গীরা নৌযানে আসন গ্রহণ করিবে তখন বলিও, ‘সমস্ত প্রশংসা রই, যিনি আমাদেরকে উদ্বার করিয়াছেন সম্প্রদায় হইতে।’
And when thou art on board the ship, thou and whoso is with thee, then say: Praise be to Allah Who hath saved us from the wrongdoing folk!
فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And say: O my Lord! cause me to disembark a blessed alighting, and Thou art the best to cause to alight.
আরও বলিও, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমাকে এমনভাবে অবতরণ করাও যাহা হইবে কল্যাণকর; আর তুমিই শ্রেষ্ঠ অবতরণকারী।’
And say: My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing - place, for Thou art Best of all who bring to land.
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
Most surely there are signs in this, and most surely We are ever trying (men).
ইহাতে অবশ্যই নিদর্শন রহিয়াছে। আর আমি তো উহাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করিয়াছিলাম।
Lo! herein verily are portents, for lo! We are ever putting (mankind) to the test.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ
Then We raised up after them another generation.
অতঃপর তাহাদের পরে অন্য এক সম্প্রদায় সৃষ্টি করিয়াছিলাম;
Then, after them, We brought forth another generation;
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ
So We sent among them an apostle from among them, saying: Serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)?
এবং উহাদেরই একজনকে উহাদের নিকট রাসূল করিয়া পাঠাইয়াছিলাম! সে বলিয়াছিল, ‘তোমরা র ‘ইবাদত কর, তিনি ব্যতীত তোমাদের অন্য কোন ইলাহ্ নাই, তবুও কি তোমরা সাবধান হইবে না?’
And we sent among them a messenger of their own, saying: Serve Allah, Ye have no other God save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink.
তাহার সম্প্রদায়ের প্রধানগণ, যাহারা করিয়াছিল ও আখিরাতের সাক্ষাতকারকে অস্বীকার করিয়াছিল এবং যাহাদেরকে আমি দিয়াছিলাম পার্থিব জীবনে প্রচুর ভোগসম্ভার, তাহারা বলিয়াছিল, ‘এ তো তোমাদের মতই একজন মানুষ; তোমরা যাহা আহার কর, সে তাহাই আহার করে এবং তোমরা যাহা পান কর, সেও তাহাই পান করে;
And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink.
وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَش
And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers:
‘যদি তোমরা তোমাদেরই মত একজন মানুষের আনুগত্য কর তবে তোমরা অবশ্যই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হইবে;
If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers.
وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ
What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth?
‘সে কি তোমাদেরকে এই প্রতিশ্রুতিই দেয় যে, তোমাদের মৃত্যু হইলে এবং তোমরা মৃত্তিকা ও অস্থিতে পরিণত হইলেও তোমাদেরকে উত্থিত করা হইবে?
Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth ?
أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ
Far, far is that which you are threatened with.
‘অসম্ভব, তোমাদেরকে যে বিষয়ে প্রতিশ্রুতি দেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহা অসম্ভব।
Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised!
هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again.
‘একমাত্র পার্থিব জীবনই আমাদের জীবন, আমরা মরি বাঁচি এইখানেই এবং আমরা উত্থিত হইব না।
There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again).
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him.
‘সে তো এমন ব্যক্তি যে সম্বন্ধে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করিয়াছে এবং আমরা তাহাকে বিশ্বাস করিবার নই।’
He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him.
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar.
সে বলিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমাকে সাহায্য কর; কারণ উহারা আমাকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলে।’
He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me.
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting.
বলিলেন, অচিরে উহারা তো অনুতপ্ত হইবে।
He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant.
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَٰدِمِينَ
So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people.
অতঃপর সত্য সত্যই এক বিকট আওয়াজ উহাদেরকে আঘাত করিল এবং আমি উহাদেরকে তরঙ্গ - তাড়িত আবর্জনাসদৃশ করিয়া দিলাম। সুতরাং ধ্বংস হইয়া গেল সম্প্রদায়।
So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk!
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ غُثَآءً فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Then We raised after them other generations.
অতঃপর তাহাদের পরে আমি বহু জাতি সৃষ্টি করিয়াছি।
Then after them We brought forth other generations.
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ
No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it).
কোন জাতিই তাহার নির্ধারিত কালকে ত্বরান্বিত করিতে পারে না, বিলম্বিতও করিতে পারে না।
No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it.
مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe!
অতঃপর আমি একের পর এক আমার রাসূল প্রেরণ করিয়াছি। যখনই কোন জাতির নিকট তাহার রাসূল আসিয়াছে তখনই উহারা তাহাকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলিয়াছে। অতঃপর আমি উহাদের একের পর এককে ধ্বংস করিলাম। আমি উহাদেরকে কাহিনীর বিষয় করিয়াছি। সুতরাং ধ্বংস হউক অবিশ্বাসীরা!
Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not!
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority,
অতঃপর আমি আমার নিদর্শন ও সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণসহ মূসা ও তাহার ভ্রাতা হারূনকে পাঠাইলাম,
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people.
ফির‘আওন ও তাহার পারিষদবর্গের নিকট। কিন্তু উহারা অহংকার করিল; উহারা ছিল উদ্ধত সম্প্রদায়।
Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk.
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ
And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us?
উহারা বলিল, ‘আমরা কি এমন দুই ব্যক্তিতে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করিব যাহারা আমাদেরই মত এবং যাহাদের সম্প্রদায় আমাদের দাসত্ব করে?’
And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us ?
فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَٰبِدُونَ
So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed.
অতঃপর উহারা তাহাদেরকে অস্বীকার করিল, ফলে উহারা ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত হইল।
So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed.
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ
And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction.
আমি তো মূসাকে কিতাব দিয়াছিলাম যাহাতে উহারা সৎপথ পায়।
And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs.
এবং আমি মার্ইয়াম - তনয় ও তাহার জননীকে করিয়াছিলাম এক নিদর্শন, তাহাদেরকে আশ্রয় দিয়াছিলাম এক নিরাপদ ও প্রস্রবণবিশিষ্ট উচ্চ ভূমিতে।
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings.
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ
O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do.
‘হে রাসূলগণ! তোমরা পবিত্র বস্তু হইতে আহার কর ও সৎকর্ম কর; তোমরা যাহা কর সে সম্বন্ধে আমি সবিশেষ অবহিত।
O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَٰلِحًا إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me.
‘এবং তোমাদের এই যে জাতি ইহা তো একই জাতি এবং আমিই তোমাদের প্রতিপালক; অতএব আমাকে ভয় কর।’
And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me.
وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ
But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them.
কিন্তু তাহারা নিজেদের মধ্যে তাহাদের দীনকে বহুধা বিভক্ত করিয়াছে। প্রত্যেক দলই তাহাদের নিকট যাহা আছে তাহা লইয়া আনন্দিত।
But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets.
فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till
সুতরাং কিছুকালের জন্য উহাদেরকে স্বীয় বিভ্রান্তিতে থাকিতে দাও।
So leave them in their error till a time.
فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children,
উহারা কি মনে করে যে, আমি উহাদেরকে সাহায্যস্বরূপ যে ধনৈশ্বর্য ও সন্তান - সন্ততি দান করি, তদ্দারা
Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them
أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ
We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive.
উহাদের জন্য সকল প্রকার মঙ্গল ত্বরান্বিত করিতেছি? না, উহারা বুঝে না।
We hasten unto them with good things ? Nay, but they perceive not.
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious,
নিশ্চয় যাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের ভয়ে সন্ত্রস্ত,
Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ
And those who believe in the communications of their Lord,
যাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিদর্শনাবলীতে ঈমান আনে,
And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord,
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord,
যাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের সঙ্গে শরীক করে না,
And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord,
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return,
এবং যাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তন করিবে এই বিশ্বাসে তাহাদের যাহা দান করিবার তাহা দান করে ভীত - কম্পিত হৃদয়ে,
And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord,
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ
These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them.
তাহারাই দ্রুত সম্পাদন করে কল্যাণকর কাজ এবং তাহারা উহাতে অগ্রগামী হয়।
These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ
And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.
আমি কাহাকেও তাহার সাধ্যাতীত দায়িত্ব অর্পণ করি না এবং আমার নিকট আছে এক কিতাব যাহা সত্য ব্যক্ত করে এবং উহাদের প্রতি জুলুম করা হইবে না।
And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged.
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do.
বরং এই বিষয়ে উহাদের অন্তর অজ্ঞানতায় আচ্ছন্ন, এতদ্ব্যতীত তাহাদের আরও কাজ আছে যাহা উহারা করিয়া থাকে।
Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing;
بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰمِلُونَ
Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor.
আর আমি যখন উহাদের ঐশ্বর্যশালী ব্যক্তিদেরকে শাস্তি দ্বারা ধৃত করি তখনই উহারা আর্তনাদ করিয়া উঠে।
Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ
Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us.
তাহাদেরকে বলা হইবে, ‘আজ আর্তনাদ করিও না, তোমরা আমার সাহায্য পাইবে না।’
Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us.
لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ
My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels,
আমার আয়াত তো তোমাদের নিকট আবৃত্তি করা হইত, কিন্তু তোমরা পিছনে ফিরিয়া সরিয়া পড়িতে -
My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels,
قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ
In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night.
দম্ভভরে, এই বিষয়ে অর্থহীন গল্প - গুজব করিতে করিতে।
In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together.
مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَٰمِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old?
তবে কি উহারা এই বাণী অনুধাবন করে না? অথবা উহাদের নিকট কি এমন কিছু আসিয়াছে যাহা উহাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের নিকট আসে নাই?
Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old ?
أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him?
অথবা উহারা কি উহাদের রাসূলকে চিনে না বলিয়া তাহাকে অস্বীকার করে?
Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him ?
أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth.
অথবা উহারা কি বলে যে, সে উন্মাদনাগ্রস্ত, বস্তুত সে উহাদের নিকট সত্য আনিয়াছে এবং উহাদের অধিকাংশ সত্যকে অপসন্দ করে।
Or say they: There is a madness in him ? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ
And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside.
সত্য যদি উহাদের কামনা - বাসনার অনুগামী হইত তবে বিশৃংখল হইয়া পড়িত আকাশমণ্ডলী, পৃথিবী এবং উহাদের মধ্যবর্তী সমস্ত কিছুই। পক্ষান্তরে আমি উহাদেরকে দিয়াছি উপদেশ, কিন্তু উহারা উপদেশ হইতে মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয়।
And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away.
وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance.
অথবা তুমি কি উহাদের নিকট কোন প্রতিদান চাও? তোমার প্রতিপালকের প্রতিদানই শ্রেষ্ঠ এবং তিনিই শ্রেষ্ঠ রিযিকদাতা।
Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute ? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision.
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
And most surely you invite them to a right way.
তুমি তো উহাদেরকে সরল পথে আহ্বান করিতেছ।
And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path.
وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way.
যাহারা আখিরাতে বিশ্বাস করে না তাহারা তো সরল পথ হইতে বিচ্যুত,
And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path.
وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَٰكِبُونَ
And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.
আমি উহাদেরকে দয়া করিলেও এবং উহাদের দুঃখ - দৈন্য দূর করিলেও উহারা অবাধ্যতায় বিভ্রান্তের ন্যায় ঘুরিতে থাকিবে।
Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy.
وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves.
আমি তো উহাদেরকে শাস্তি দ্বারা ধৃত করিলাম, কিন্তু উহারা উহাদের প্রতিপালকের প্রতি বিনত হইল না এবং কাতর প্রার্থনাও করে না।
Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray,
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it.
অবশেষে যখন আমি উহাদের জন্য কঠিন শাস্তির দুয়ার খুলিয়া দেই তখনই উহারা ইহাতে হতাশ হইয়া পড়ে।
Until, when We open for them the gate of extreme punishment, behold! they are aghast thereat.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
And He it is Who made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts; little is it that you give thanks.
তিনিই তোমাদের জন্য কর্ণ, চক্ষু ও অন্তঃকরণ সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন; তোমরা অল্পই কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করিয়া থাক।
He it is Who hath created for you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give ye!
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
And He it is Who multiplied you in the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered.
তিনিই তোমাদেরকে পৃথিবীতে বিস্তৃত করিয়াছেন এবং তোমাদেরকে তাঁহারই নিকট একত্র করা হইবে।
And He it is Who hath sown you broadcast in the earth, and unto Him ye will be gathered.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
And He it is Who gives life and causes death, and (in) His (control) is the alternation of the night and the day; do you not then understand?
তিনিই জীবন দান করেন এবং মৃত্যু ঘটান এবং তাঁহারই অধিকারে রাত্রি ও দিবসের পরিবর্তন। তবুও কি তোমরা বুঝিবে না?
And He it is Who giveth life and causeth death, and His is the difference of night and day. Have ye then no sense ?
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Nay, they say the like of what the ancients said:
এতদসত্ত্বেও উহারা বলে, যেমন বলিয়াছিল পূর্ববর্তীরা।
Nay, but they say the like of that which said the men of old;
بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
They say: What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be raised?
উহারা বলে, ‘আমাদের মৃত্যু ঘটিলে ও আমরা মৃত্তিকা ও অস্থিতে পরিণত হইলেও কি আমরা উত্থিত হইব?
They say: When we are dead and have become (mere) dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again ?
قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Certainly we are promised this, and (so were) our fathers aforetime; this is naught but stories of those of old.
‘আমাদেরকে তো এই বিষয়েই প্রতিশ্রুতি প্রদান করা হইয়াছে এবং অতীতে আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষগণকেও। ইহা তো সে কালের উপকথা ব্যতীত আর কিছুই নয়।’
We were already promised this, we and our forefathers. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old.
لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Say: Whose is the earth, and whoever is therein, if you know?
জিজ্ঞাসা কর, ‘এই পৃথিবী এবং ইহাতে যাহারা আছে তাহারা কাহার, যদি তোমরা জান?’
Say: Unto Whom (belongeth) the earth and whosoever is therein, if ye have knowledge ?
قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
They will say: Allah's. Say: Will you not then mind?
উহারা বলিবে, ‘র’। বল, ‘তবুও কি তোমরা শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করিবে না?’
They will say: Unto Allah. Say: Will ye not then remember ?
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Say: Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the mighty dominion?
জিজ্ঞাসা কর, ‘কে সপ্ত আকাশ এবং মহা‘আর্শের অধিপতি?’
Say: Who is Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Tremendous Throne ?
قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)?
উহারা বলিবে, ‘’। বল, ‘তবুও কি তোমরা সাবধান হইবে না?’
They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: Will ye not then keep duty (unto Him) ?
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Say: Who is it in Whose hand is the kingdom of all things and Who gives succor, but against Him Succor is not given, if you do but know?
জিজ্ঞাসা কর, ‘সকল কিছুর কর্তৃত্ব কাহার হাতে, যিনি আশ্রয় দান করেন এবং যাঁহার উপর আশ্রয়দাতা নাই, যদি তোমরা জান?’
Say: In Whose hand is the dominion over all things and He protecteth, while against Him there is no protection, if ye have knowledge ?
قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: From whence are you then deceived?
উহারা বলিবে, ‘র’। বল, ‘তবুও তোমরা কেমন করিয়া মোহগ্রস্ত হইতেছ?’
They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: How then are ye bewitched ?
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ
Nay! We have brought to them the truth, and most surely they are liars.
বরং আমি তো উহাদের নিকট সত্য পৌঁছাইয়াছি; কিন্তু উহারা তো নিশ্চিত মিথ্যাবাদী।
Nay, but We have brought them the Truth, and lo! they are liars.
بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other) god - - in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe!
কোন সন্তান গ্রহণ করেন নাই এবং তাঁহার সঙ্গে অপর কোন ইলাহ্ নাই; যদি থাকিত তবে প্রত্যেক ইলাহ্ স্বীয় সৃষ্টি লইয়া পৃথক হইয়া যাইত এবং একে অপরের উপর প্রাধান্য বিস্তার করিত। উহারা যাহা বলে তাহা হইতে কত পবিত্র!
Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any god along with Him; else would each god have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege.
مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
The Knower of the unseen and the seen, so may He be exalted above what they associate (with Him).
তিনি দৃশ্য ও অদৃশ্যের পরিজ্ঞাতা, উহারা যাহাকে শরীক করে তিনি তাহার ঊর্ধ্বে।
Knower of the Invisible and the Visible! and Exalted be He over all that they ascribe as partners (unto Him)!
عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ فَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Say: O my Lord! if Thou shouldst make me see what they are threatened with:
বল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! যে বিষয়ে তাহাদেরকে প্রতিশ্রুতি প্রদান করা হইতেছে, তুমি যদি তাহা আমাকে দেখাইতে চাও,
Say: My Lord! If Thou shouldst show me that which they are promised.
قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ
My Lord! then place me not with the unjust.
‘তবে, হে আমার প্রতিপালক! তুমি আমাকে সম্প্রদায়ের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করিও না।’
My Lord! then set me not among the wrongdoing folk.
رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And most surely We are well able to make you see what We threaten them with.
আমি তাহাদেরকে যে বিষয়ে প্রতিশ্রুতি প্রদান করিতেছি আমি তাহা তোমাকে দেখাইতে অবশ্যই সক্ষম।
And verily We are Able to show thee that which We have promised them.
وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe.
মন্দের মুকাবিলা কর যাহা উত্তম তাহা দ্বারা; উহারা যাহা বলে আমি সে সম্বন্ধে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best Aware of that which they allege.
ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ
And say: O my Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Shaitans;
বল, ‘হে আমার প্রতি - পালক! আমি তোমার আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করি শয়তানের প্ররোচনা হইতে,
And say: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from suggestions of the evil ones,
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
And I seek refuge in Thee! O my Lord! from their presence.
‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমি তোমার আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করি আমার নিকট উহাদের উপস্থিতি হইতে।’
And I seek refuge in Thee, my Lord, lest they be present with me,
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
Until when death overtakes one of them, he says: Send me back, my Lord, send me back;
যখন উহাদের কাহারও মৃত্যু উপস্থিত হয় তখন সে বলে, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমাকে পুনরায় প্রেরণ কর,
Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back,
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرْجِعُونِ
Haply I may do good in that which I have left. By no means! it is a (mere) word that he speaks; and before them is a barrier until the day they are raised.
‘যাহাতে আমি সৎকর্ম করিতে পারি যাহা আমি পূর্বে করি নাই।’ না, ইহা হইবার নয়। ইহা তো উহার একটি উক্তি মাত্র। উহাদের সম্মুখে বারযাখ থাকিবে উত্থান দিবস পর্যন্ত।
That I may do right in that which I have left behind! But nay! It is but a word that he speaketh; and behind them is a barrier until the day when they are raised.
لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other.
এবং যেদিন শিংগায় ফুৎকার দেওয়া হইবে সেদিন পরস্পরের মধ্যে আত্মীয়তার বন্ধন থাকিবে না, এবং একে অপরের খোঁজ - খবর লইবে না,
And when the trumpet is blown there will be no kinship among them that day, nor will they ask of one another.
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Then as for him whose good deeds are preponderant, these are the .
এবং যাহাদের পাল্লা ভারী হইবে তাহারাই হইবে ,
Then those whose scales are heavy, they are the .
فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
And as for him whose good deeds are light, these are they who shall have lost their souls, abiding in hell
এবং যাহাদের পাল্লা হাল্কা হইবে তাহারাই নিজেদের ক্ষতি করিয়াছে; উহারা জাহান্নামে স্থায়ী হইবে।
And those whose scales are light are those who lose their souls, in hell abiding.
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدُونَ
The fire shall scorch their faces, and they therein shall be in severe affliction.
অগ্নি উহাদের মুখমণ্ডল দগ্ধ করিবে এবং উহারা সেখানে থাকিবে বীভৎস চেহারায়;
The fire burneth their faces, and they are glum therein.
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَٰلِحُونَ
Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them.
তোমাদের নিকট কি আমার আয়াতসমূহ আবৃত্তি করা হইত না? অথচ তোমরা সেই সকল অস্বীকার করিতে।
(It will be said): Were not My revelations recited unto you, and then ye used to deny them ?
أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
They shall say: O our Lord! our adversity overcame us and we were an erring people:
উহারা বলিবে, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! দুর্ভাগ্য আমাদেরকে পাইয়া বসিয়াছিল এবং আমরা ছিলাম এক বিভ্রান্ত সম্প্রদায়;
They will say: Our Lord! Our evil fortune conquered us, and we were erring folk.
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ
O our Lord! Take us out of it; then if we return (to evil) surely we shall be unjust.
‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! এই অগ্নি হইতে আমাদেরকে উদ্ধার কর; অতঃপর আমরা যদি পুনরায় করি তবে তো আমরা অবশ্যই সীমালংঘনকারী হইব।’
Our Lord! Oh, bring us forth from hence! If we return (to evil) then indeed we shall be wrong - doers.
رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَٰلِمُونَ
He shall say: Go away into it and speak not to Me;
বলিবেন, ‘তোরা হীন অবস্থায় এইখানে থাক্ এবং আমার সহিত কোন কথা বলিস্ না।’
He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me.
قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
Surely there was a party of My servants who said: O our Lord! we believe, so do Thou forgive us and have mercy on us, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones.
আমার বান্দাগণের মধ্যে একদল ছিল যাহারা বলিত, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমরা ঈমান আনিয়াছি, তুমি আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা কর ও দয়া কর, তুমি তো সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ দয়ালু।’
Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy;
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
But you took them for a mockery until they made you forget My remembrance and you used to laugh at them.
‘কিন্তু তাহাদেরকে লইয়া তোমরা এতো ঠাট্টা - বিদ্রপ করিতে যে, উহা তোমাদেরকে আমার কথা ভুলাইয়া দিয়াছিল। তোমরা তো তাহাদেরকে লইয়া হাসি - ঠাট্টাই করিতে।’
But ye chose them for a laughing - stock until they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, while ye laughed at them.
فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
Surely I have rewarded them this day because they were patient, that they are the achievers.
‘আমি আজ তাহাদেরকে তাহাদের ধৈর্যের কারণে এমনভাবে পুরস্কৃত করিলাম যে, তাহারাই হইল ।’
Lo! I have rewarded them this day forasmuch as they were steadfast in that they, even they, are the triumphant.
إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
He will say: How many years did you tarry in the earth?
বলিবেন, ‘তােমরা পৃথিবীতে কত বৎসর অবস্থান করিয়াছিলে?’
He will say: How long tarried ye in the earth, counting by years ?
قَٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
They will say: We tarried a day or part of a day, but ask those who keep account.
উহারা বলিবে, ‘আমরা অবস্থান করিয়াছিলাম একদিন অথবা দিনের কিছু অংশ; আপনি না হয়, গণনাকারীদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করুন।’
They will say: We tarried by a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep count!
قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
He will say: You did tarry but a little - - had you but known (it):
তিনি বলিবেন, ‘তোমরা অল্প কালই অবস্থান করিয়াছিলে, যদি তোমরা জানিতে!
He will say: Ye tarried but a little if ye only knew.
قَٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
What! did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us?
‘তোমরা কি মনে করিয়াছিলে যে, আমি তোমাদেরকে অনর্থক সৃষ্টি করিয়াছি এবং তোমরা আমার নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইবে না?’
Deemed ye then that We had created you for naught, and that ye would not be returned unto Us ?
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion.
মহিমান্বিত যিনি প্রকৃত মালিক, তিনি ব্যতীত কোন ইলাহ্ নাই; সম্মানিত আর্শের তিনি অধিপতি।
Now Allah be Exalted, the True King! There is no God save Him, the Lord of the Throne of Grace.
فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
And whoever invokes with Allah another god - - he has no proof of this - - his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be .
যে ব্যক্তি র সঙ্গে ডাকে অন্য ইলাহ্কে, এই বিষয়ে তাহার নিকট কোন সনদ নাই; তাহার হিসাব তাহার প্রতিপালকের নিকট আছে; নিশ্চয়ই কাফিররা হইবে না।
He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not be .
وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones.
বল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! ক্ষমা কর ও দয়া কর, তুমিই তো সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ দয়ালু।’
And (O Muhammad) say: My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for Thou art Best of all who show mercy.
وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
