Chapter 46, 35 verses
Ha Mim.
Ha, Meem.
হা মিম।
حمٓ
The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.
The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
এ কিতাব নাযিল হচ্ছে মহাশক্তিধর মহাপ্রজ্ঞাবান আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে।
تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two save with truth and (for) an appointed term; and those who disbelieve turn aside from what they are warned of.
We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away.
মহাকাশ, পৃথিবী এবং এ দুয়ের মধ্যবর্তী যা কিছু আছে সবই আমরা বাস্তবভাবে এবং নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের জন্যে সৃষ্টি করেছি। কিন্তু কাফিররা উপেক্ষা করে চলছে, যে বিষয়ে তাদের সতর্ক করা হয়েছে।
مَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَمَّآ أُنذِرُوا۟ مُعْرِضُونَ
Say: Have you considered what you call upon besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth, or have they a share in the heavens? Bring me a book before this or traces of knowledge, if you are truthful.
Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful."
হে নবী! বলো: ‘তোমরা ভেবে দেখেছো কি, তোমরা আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যাদের ডাকো, তারা পৃথিবীতে কী সৃষ্টি করেছে? আমাকে দেখাও। নাকি আকাশ সৃষ্টিতে তাদের কোনো অংশীদারিত্ব আছে? পূর্বের কোনো কিতাব কিংবা সূত্রভিত্তিক কোনো জ্ঞান এ বিষয়ের থাকলে তোমরা তা হাজির করো, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকো।’
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِى مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱئْتُونِى بِكِتَٰبٍ مِّن قَبْلِ هَٰذَآ أَوْ أَثَٰرَةٍ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ إِن ك
And who is in greater error than he who calls besides Allah upon those that will not answer him till the day of resurrection and they are heedless of their call?
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware.
ঐ ব্যক্তির চাইতে বড় বিভ্রান্ত আর কে, যে আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যাদেরকে ডাকে, তারা কিয়ামত পর্যন্ত তার ডাকে সাড়া দেবে না? তারা তার ডাক শুনবে কী করে? তারা তো অচেতন।
وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَآئِهِمْ غَٰفِلُونَ
And when men are gathered together they shall be their enemies, and shall be deniers of their worshipping (them).
And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.
যেদিন মানুষকে হাশর করা হবে (বিচারের জন্যে), সেদিন তারা এদের শত্রু হয়ে যাবে এবং এরা তাদের ইবাদত (পূজা উপাসনা) করেছে বলে তারা অস্বীকার করবে।
وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُوا۟ لَهُمْ أَعْدَآءً وَكَانُوا۟ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ كَٰفِرِينَ
And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who disbelieve say with regard to the truth when it comes to them: This is clear magic.
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic."
আমাদের স্পষ্ট আয়াতসমূহ যখন তাদের সামনে তিলাওয়াত করা হয়, তখন মহাসত্য তাদের কাছে পৌঁছার পর কাফিররা বলে: ‘এতো এক সুস্পষ্ট ম্যাজিক।’
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Nay! they say: He has forged it. Say: If I have forged it, you do not control anything for me from Allah; He knows best what you utter concerning it; He is enough as a witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Or do they say, "He has invented it?" Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allah at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved. Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving the Merciful."
নাকি তারা বলে: ‘মুহাম্মদ এ কুরআন রচনা করেছে?’ তুমি বলো: ‘আমি যদি এটি রচনা করে আল্লাহর নামে চালাতাম, তবে তোমরা সবাই মিলেও কিছুতেই আমাকে আল্লাহর শাস্তি থেকে রক্ষা করতে পারতেনা। তোমরা যে বিষয়ে বিতর্কে লিপ্ত হচ্ছো সে বিষয়ে আল্লাহ্ই অধিক জানেন। এ বিষয়ে আমার এবং তোমাদের মাঝে সাক্ষী হিসেবে তিনিই যথেষ্ট। আর তিনি মহাক্ষমাশীল মহাদয়াবান।
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِيدًۢا بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Say: I am not the first of the apostles, and I do not know what will be done with me or with you: I do not follow anything but that which is revealed to me, and I am nothing but a plain warner.
Say, "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."
বলো: ‘আমি কোনো নতুন - অভিনব রসূল নই। আমার ও তোমাদের ব্যাপারে কী করা হবে তা আমি জানি না। আমি কেবল তারই অনুসরণ করি, যা অহি করা হয় আমার কাছে। আমি একজন সুস্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী ছাড়া আর কিছুই নই।
قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَآ أَدْرِى مَا يُفْعَلُ بِى وَلَا بِكُمْ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Say: Have you considered if it is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from among the children of Israel has borne witness of one like it, so he believed, while you are big with pride; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
বলো: তোমরা ভেবে দেখেছো কি, এ কুরআন যদি আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে এসে থাকে আর তোমরা তা অস্বীকার করো, অথচ বনি ইসরাঈলের একজন (আবদুল্লাহ ইবনে সালাম) এ কিতাবের প্রতি সাক্ষ্য দিয়েছে যে, এটি (তাওয়াতেরই অনুরূপ) এবং সে ঈমান এনেছে, আর তোমরা হঠকারিতা প্রদর্শন করো, তাহলে তোমাদের পরিণাম কী হবে? নিশ্চয়ই কখনো যালিমদের সঠিক পথ দেখান না।
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَرْتُم بِهِۦ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّنۢ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ عَلَىٰ مِثْلِهِۦ فَـَٔامَنَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And those who disbelieve say concerning those who believe: If it had been a good, they would not have gone ahead of us therein. And as they do not seek to be rightly directed thereby, they say: It is an old lie.
And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood."
কাফিররা মুমিনদের বলে: ‘এটা (এই কুরআন) যদি ভালো হতো, তবে তারা আমাদের আগে তা গ্রহণ করতে পারতো না।’ আর যেহেতু তারা এর দ্বারা সঠিক পথ লাভ করেনি, তাই তারা বলে, ‘এটা পুরানো মিথ্যা।’
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُونَآ إِلَيْهِ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَٰذَآ إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ
And before it the Book of Musa was a guide and a mercy: and this is a Book verifying (it) in the Arabic language that it may warn those who are unjust and as good news for the doers of good.
And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.
এর আগে ছিলো মূসার কিতাব পথ প্রদর্শক ও রহমত। আর এই কিতাব (কুরআন) সেটার সত্যায়নকারী, আরবি ভাষায়। এটি নাযিল করা হয়েছে যালিমদের সতর্ক করার উদ্দেশ্যে এবং কল্যাণপরায়ণদের জন্যে এটি সুসংবাদ।
وَمِن قَبْلِهِۦ كِتَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً وَهَٰذَا كِتَٰبٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Surely those who say, Our Lord is Allah, then they continue on the right way, they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
নিশ্চয়ই যারা বলে: ‘ আমাদের রব’, তারপর একথার উপর অটল অবিচল হয়ে থাকে, তাদের কোনো ভয় নেই এবং তারা চিন্তিতও হবেনা।
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
These are the dwellers of the garden, abiding therein: a reward for what they did.
Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do.
তারা হবে জান্নাতের অধিবাসী, চিরদিন থাকবে তারা সেখানে, তাদের কৃতকর্মের প্রতিদান হিসেবে।
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
And We have enjoined on man doing of good to his parents; with trouble did his mother bear him and with trouble did she bring him forth; and the bearing of him and the weaning of him was thirty months; until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years, he says: My Lord! grant me that I may give thanks for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good which pleases Thee and do good to me in respect of my offspring; surely I turn to Thee, and surely I am of those who submit.
And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."
আমরা মানুষকে অসিয়ত (নির্দেশ) করেছি তার মাতা - পিতার প্রতি সদয় আচরণ করতে। তার মা তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করেছে কষ্টের সাথে, প্রসব করেছে কষ্টের সাথে। তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করতে এবং তার বুকের দুধ ছাড়াতে লেগেছে ত্রিশ মাস। তারপর সে যখন সুঠাম দেহে পৌঁছে এবং উপনীত হয় চল্লিশ বছরে, তখন সে বলে: ‘আমার প্রভু! আমাকে তৌফিক দাও, আমি যেনো তোমার অনুগ্রহের কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করতে পারি, যে অনুগ্রহ তুমি করেছো আমার প্রতি এবং আমার পিতা - মাতার প্রতি। আমাকে এমন আমলে সালেহ্ করার তৌফিক দাও যাতে তুমি সন্তুষ্ট হবে, আর আমার জন্যে আমার সন্তানদের সৎ ও যোগ্য করে গড়ে তোলো। আমি তোমার দিকে মুখ ফেরালাম এবং অবশ্যি আমি আত্মসমর্পণকারীদের অন্তরভুক্ত হলাম।’
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ إِحْسَٰنًا حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرْهًا وَوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْهًا وَحَمْلُهُۥ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ ثَلَٰثُونَ شَهْرًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ رَب
These are they from whom We accept the best of what they have done and pass over their evil deeds, among the dwellers of the garden; the promise of truth which they were promised.
Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.
এরাই সেইসব লোক আমরা যাদের উত্তম আমলসমূহ কবুল করবো এবং তাদের মন্দ কাজগুলো ক্ষমা করে দেবো এবং তাদের অন্তরভুক্ত করবো জান্নাতের অধিবাসীদের। তাদের যে ওয়াদা দেয়া হলো তা সত্য ওয়াদা।
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ فِىٓ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَعْدَ ٱلصِّدْقِ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
And he who says to his parents: Fie on you! do you threaten me that I shall be brought forth when generations have already passed away before me? And they both call for Allah's aid: Woe to you! believe, surely the promise of Allah is true. But he says: This is nothing but stories of the ancients.
But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allah for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former people" -
আর এমন লোকও আছে, যে তার মাতা - পিতাকে বলে: ‘উহ্, তোমাদের জ্বালাতনে আর বাঁচলাম না। তোমরা কি আমাকে এই ভয় দেখাতে চাও যে, আমি পুনরুত্থিত হবো, যদিও আমার আগে বহু প্রজন্ম গত হয়েছে?’ তখন তার মাতা - পিতা আল্লাহর কাছে ফরিয়াদ করে বলে: ‘দুর্ভোগ তোমার! তুমি ঈমান আনো। আল্লাহর ওয়াদা সত্য।’ তখন সে বলে: ‘এতো আগেকার কালের কাহিনী ছাড়া কিছু নয়।’
وَٱلَّذِى قَالَ لِوَٰلِدَيْهِ أُفٍّ لَّكُمَآ أَتَعِدَانِنِىٓ أَنْ أُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ ٱلْقُرُونُ مِن قَبْلِى وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيثَانِ ٱللَّهَ وَيْلَكَ ءَامِنْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَٰذَ
These are they against whom the word has proved true among nations of the jinn and the men that have already passed away before them; surely they are losers.
Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
এদের আগে যে জিন ও মানবগোষ্ঠী গত হয়েছে তাদের মতো এদের প্রতিও আল্লাহর বাণী সত্য হয়েছে, নিশ্চয়ই এরা হবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَوْلُ فِىٓ أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ خَٰسِرِينَ
And for all are degrees according to what they did, and that He may pay them back fully their deeds and they shall not be wronged.
And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.
প্রত্যেকের মর্যাদা নির্ধারিত হবে তার আমল অনুযায়ী। প্রত্যেকের আমলেরই পূর্ণ প্রতিফল দেয়া হবে এবং তাদের প্রতি করা হবেনা কোনো প্রকার যুলুম।
وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَٰتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا۟ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: You did away with your good things in your life of the world and you enjoyed them for a while, so today you shall be rewarded with the punishment of abasement because you were unjustly proud in the land and because you transgressed.
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."
যেদিন কাফিরদের উপস্থিত করা হবে জাহান্নামের কিনারে, সেদিন তাদের বলা হবে: তোমরা তোমাদের পৃথিবীর জীবনেই যাবতীয় সুখ সম্ভোগ করে নিয়েছো। সুতরাং আজ তোমাদের প্রতিদান দেয়া হবে অপমানকর আযাব, কারণ তোমরা পৃথিবীতে অন্যায়ভাবে দাম্ভিকতা প্রকাশ করেছিলে এবং সীমালংঘন করেছিলে।
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَٰتِكُمْ فِى حَيَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْض
And mention the brother of Ad; when he warned his people in the sandy plains, - - and indeed warners came before him and after him - - saying Serve none but Allah; surely I fear for you the punishment of a grievous day.
And mention, [O Muhammad], the brother of 'Aad, when he warned his people in the [region of] al - Ahqaf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not worship except Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."
স্মরণ করো, আদ জাতির ভাই (হুদের) কথা, সে তার আহকাফবাসী জাতিকে সতর্ক করেছিল। তার আগে পরেও সতর্ককারীরা বিগত হয়েছিল। সে তাদের বলেছিল: ‘তোমরা ছাড়া আর কারো ইবাদত করোনা। আমি তোমাদের উপর এক কঠিন দিনের আযাবের আশংকা করছি।’
وَٱذْكُرْ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُۥ بِٱلْأَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦٓ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
They said: Have you come to us to turn us away from our gods; then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful ones.
They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."
তারা বলেছিল: ‘তুমি কি আমাদেরকে আমাদের ইলাহ্দের (দেব - দেবীর) পূজা উপাসনা থেকে বারণ করতে এসেছো? তুমি যদি সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকো, তাহলে আমাদেরকে যে জিনিসের ভয় দেখাচ্ছো, তা এনে দেখাও।’
قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَأْفِكَنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
He said: The knowledge is only with Allah, and I deliver to you the message with which I am sent, but I see you are a people who are ignorant.
He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."
সে বলেছিল: ‘সে জিনিসের এলেম তো কেবল আল্লাহর কাছেই রয়েছে। আমাকে যে জিনিস নিয়ে পাঠানো হয়েছে আমি তোমাদেরকে কেবল সেই বার্তাই পৌঁছে দিচ্ছি। কিন্তু আমি দেখছি, তোমরা তো একটি জাহেল কওম।
قَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱلْعِلْمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
So when they saw it as a cloud appearing in the sky advancing towards their valleys, they said: This is a cloud which will give us rain. Nay! it is what you sought to hasten on, a blast of wind in which is a painful punishment,
And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment,
তারপর তারা যখন তাদের উপত্যকাসমূহের দিক থেকে মেঘ আসতে দেখলো, তখন তারা বললো: ‘এতো মেঘ, এখন আমাদের এখানে বৃষ্টিপাত হবে।’ হুদ বললো: ‘না, বরং এই তো সেই জিনিস, তোমরা যার ব্যাপারে তাড়াহুড়া করছিলে। এ হলো সেই ঝড় যাতে রয়েছে বেদনাদায়ক আযাব।’
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا بَلْ هُوَ مَا ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِۦ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Destroying everything by the command of its Lord, so they became such that naught could be seen except their dwellings. Thus do We reward the guilty people.
Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.
এ ঝড় আল্লাহর নির্দেশে ধ্বংস করে দেবে সবকিছুই। তারপর যখন সকাল হলো, তখন বসতি ছাড়া সেখানে আর কিছুই ছিলনা। এভাবেই আমরা শাস্তি দিয়ে থাকি অপরাধীদের।
تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۭ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ لَا يُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَسَٰكِنُهُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
And certainly We had established them in what We have not established you in, and We had given - - them ears and eyes and hearts, but neither their ears, nor their eyes, nor their hearts availed them aught, since they denied the communications of Allah, and that which they mocked encompassed them.
And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
আমরা তাদেরকে যতোটা প্রতিষ্ঠা দিয়েছিলাম, তোমাদের ততোটা প্রতিষ্ঠা দেইনি। আমরা তাদের দিয়েছিলাম শ্রবণশক্তি, দৃষ্টিশক্তি এবং অন্তর। কিন্তু তাদের শ্রবণশক্তি, দৃষ্টিশক্তি এবং অন্তর তাদের কোনো কাজেই আসেনি, যেহেতু তারা আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহকে করেছিল অস্বীকার। ফলে তাদের পরিবেষ্টন করে নিয়েছিল সেই জিনিস, যা নিয়ে তারা করতো বিদ্রুপ।
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِيمَآ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَأَبْصَٰرًا وَأَفْـِٔدَةً فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَآ أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ وَلَآ أَفْـِٔدَتُهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ إِذْ كَانُ
And certainly We destroyed the towns which are around you, and We repeat the communications that they might turn.
And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].
আমরা তোমাদের চারপাশের জনপদসমূহ ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছিলাম এবং বিভিন্ন পদ্ধতিতে আমাদের নিদর্শনাবলি বর্ণনা করেছিলাম, যাতে করে তারা ফিরে আসে।
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفْنَا ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Why did not then those help them whom they took for gods besides Allah to draw (them) nigh (to Him)? Nay! they were lost to them; and this was their lie and what they forged.
Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.
তারা আল্লাহর সান্নিধ্য লাভের উদ্দেশ্যে, আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যেসব ইলাহ্ গ্রহণ করেছিল, তারা (সেসব ইলাহ্) তাদের সাহায্য করলোনা কেন? বরং তখন তারা তাদের থেকে উধাও হয়ে গিয়েছিল। তাদের মিথ্যা ও মনগড়া খোদাদের অবস্থা এ রকমই।
فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرْبَانًا ءَالِهَةًۢ بَلْ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنْهُمْ وَذَٰلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
And when We turned towards you a party of the jinn who listened to the Quran; so when they came to it, they said: Be silent; then when it was finished, they turned back to their people warning (them).
And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur'an. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.
স্মরণ করো, আমরা একদল জিনকে তোমার প্রতি আকৃষ্ট করেছিলাম। তারা কুরআন শুনছিল। যখন তারা সেখানে হাজির হয়েছিল, তারা বলেছিল: ‘নীরব থাকো, শুনো।’ যখন কুরআন পাঠ শেষ হলো, তখন তারা ফিরে গেলো তাদের কওমের কাছে সতর্ককারী হিসেবে।
وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَآ إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنصِتُوا۟ فَلَمَّا قُضِىَ وَلَّوْا۟ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
They said: O our people! we have listened to a Book revealed after Musa verifying that which is before it, guiding to the truth and to a right path:
They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.
তারা গিয়ে বলেছিল: ‘‘হে আমাদের কওম! আমরা এমন একটি কিতাবের (কুরআনের) পাঠ শুনেছি, যা নাযিল হয়েছে মূসার পরে, এ কিতাব তার পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবকে সত্যায়ন করে এবং পথ দেখায় সত্যের দিকে ও সরল সঠিক পথের দিকে।
قَالُوا۟ يَٰقَوْمَنَآ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
O our people! accept the Divine caller and believe in Him, He will forgive you of your faults and protect you from a painful punishment.
O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah and believe in him; Allah will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.
হে আমাদের কওম! আল্লাহর দিকে আহবানকারীর ডাকে সাড়া দাও এবং ঈমান আনো তার প্রতি, তিনি ক্ষমা করে দেবেন তোমাদের পাপসমূহ এবং তোমাদের রক্ষা করবেন বেদনাদায়ক আযাব থেকে।’’
يَٰقَوْمَنَآ أَجِيبُوا۟ دَاعِىَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
And whoever does not accept the - Divine caller, he shall not escape in the earth and he shall not have guardians besides Him, these are in manifest error.
But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allah will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error."
যে আল্লাহর দিকে আহবানকারীর ডাকে সাড়া দেবে না, সে পৃথিবীতে আল্লাহর সিদ্ধান্ত ব্যর্থ করতে পারবে না। তার জন্যে আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে কোনো সাহায্যকারীও থাকবে না। এরাই রয়েছে সুস্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতে।
وَمَن لَّا يُجِبْ دَاعِىَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءُ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
Have they not considered that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and was not tired by their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Aye! He has surely power over all things.
Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.
তারা কি দেখেনা যে, আল্লাহ্ই সৃষ্টি করেছেন মহাকাশ এবং পৃথিবী এবং এসবের সৃষ্টিতে তিনি কোনো প্রকার ক্লান্তিবোধ করেননি, তিনি মৃতকে জীবিত করতেও সক্ষম। হাঁ, তিনি প্রতিটি বিষয়েই সর্বশক্তিমান।
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْىَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: Is it not true? They shall say: Aye! by our Lord! He will say: Then taste the punishment, because you disbelieved.
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve."
যেদিন কাফিরদের উপস্থিত করা হবে জাহান্নামের কিনারে, তখন তাদের বলা হবে: ‘এ (জাহান্নাম) কি সত্য নয়?’ তারা বলবে: ‘হাঁ, আমাদের প্রভুর শপথ, এটা সত্য।’ বলবেন: ‘তোমাদের কুফুরি করার কারণে তোমরা আস্বাদন করো আযাব।’
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
Therefore bear up patiently as did the apostles endowed with constancy bear up with patience and do not seek to hasten for them (their doom). On the day that they shall see what they are promised they shall be as if they had not tarried save an hour of the day. A sufficient exposition! Shall then any be destroyed save the transgressing people?
So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?
তুমি সবর অবলম্বন করো, যেমন সবর অবলম্বন করেছিল দৃঢ়তা অবলম্বনকারী রসূলরা। তুমি তাদের (কাফিরদের) ব্যাপারে তাড়াহুড়া করোনা। তাদেরকে যে বিষয়ে সতর্ক করা হয়েছে সে জিনিসটা যেদিন তারা দেখবে, সেদিন তাদের মনে হবে, তারা যেনো দিনের ঘণ্টাখানেকের বেশি পৃথিবীতে অবস্থান করেনি। এটি (এই কুরআন) একটি সুস্পষ্ট বার্তা। ফাসিকদের (সীমালংঘনকারীদের) ছাড়া কাউকেও কি ধ্বংস করা হবে?
فَٱصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعَزْمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِل لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّن نَّهَارٍۭ بَلَٰغٌ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا
