Chapter 100, 11 verses

  • Shakir
  • Yusuf Ali
Shakir

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly,

Yusuf Ali

By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath),

Shakir

Then those that produce fire striking,

Yusuf Ali

And strike sparks of fire,

Shakir

Then those that make raids at morn,

Yusuf Ali

And push home the charge in the morning,

Shakir

Then thereby raise dust,

Yusuf Ali

And raise the dust in clouds the while,

Shakir

Then rush thereby upon an assembly:

Yusuf Ali

And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse; -

Shakir

Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord.

Yusuf Ali

Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful;

Shakir

And most surely he is a witness of that.

Yusuf Ali

And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds);

Shakir

And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth.

Yusuf Ali

And violent is he in his love of wealth.

Shakir

Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised,

Yusuf Ali

Does he not know, - when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad

Shakir

And what is in the breasts is made apparent?

Yusuf Ali

And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest -

Shakir

Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them.

Yusuf Ali

That their Lord had been Well - acquainted with them, (even to) that Day?
