(All) praise is due to Allah, Whose is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, and to Him is due (all) praise in the hereafter; and He is the Wise, the Aware.

পরম দয়ালু, পরম ক্ষমাশীল আল্লাহর নামে; সকল প্রশংসা যিনি আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীতে যাহা কিছু আছে সমস্তকিছুরই মালিক এবং আখিরাতেও প্রশংসা তাঁহারই। তিনি প্রজ্ঞাময়, সর্ববিষয়ে অবহিত।
Transliteration
YaAAlamu ma yaliju fee alardi wama yakhruju minha wama yanzilu mina alssamai wama yaAAruju feeha wahuwa alrraheemu alghafooru
Shakir
He knows that which goes down into the earth and that which comes out of it, and that which comes down from the heaven and that which goes up to it; and He is the Merciful, the Forgiving.

তিনি জানেন যাহা ভূমিতে প্রবেশ করে, যাহা উহা হইতে নির্গত হয় এবং যাহা আকাশ হইতে নাযিল হয় এবং যাহা কিছু উহাতে উত্থিত হয়। তিনিই পপরম দয়ালু, অতিশয় ক্ষমাশীল।
Transliteration
Waqala allatheena kafaroo la tateena alssaAAatu qul bala warabbee latatiyannakum AAalimi alghaybi la yaAAzubu AAanhu mithqalu tharratin fee alssamawati wala fee alardi wala asgharu min thalika wala akbaru illa fee kitabin mubeenin
Shakir
And those who disbelieve say: The hour shall not come upon us. Say: Yea! by my Lord, the Knower of the unseen, it shall certainly come upon you; not the weight of an atom becomes absent from Him, in the heavens or in the earth, and neither less than that nor greater, but (all) is in a clear book

কাফিররা বলে, ‘আমাদের নিকট কিয়ামত আসিবে না।’ বল, ‘আসিবেই, শপথ আমার প্রতিপালকের, নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের নিকট উহা আসিবে।’ তিনি সম্বন্ধে সম্যক পরিজ্ঞাত; আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীতে তাঁহার অগোচর নয় অণু পরিমাণ কিছু কিংবা তদপেক্ষা ক্ষুদ্র অথবা বৃহৎ কিছু ; ইহার প্রত্যেকটি আছে সুস্পষ্ট কিতাবে।
And (as for) those who strive hard in opposing Our communications, these it is for whom is a painful chastisement of an evil kind.

যাহারা আমার আয়াতকে ব্যর্থ করিবার চেষ্টা করে তাহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে ভয়ংকর মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
Transliteration
Wayara allatheena ootoo alAAilma allathee onzila ilayka min rabbika huwa alhaqqa wayahdee ilasirati alAAazeezi alhameedi
Shakir
And those to whom the knowledge has been given see that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, that is the truth, and it guides into the path of the Mighty, the Praised.

যাহাদেরকে জ্ঞান দেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহারা জানে যে, তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে তোমার প্রতি যাহা অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছে তাহাই সত্য; ইহা পরাক্রমশালী প্রশংসার্হ পথনির্দেশ করে।
And those who disbelieve say: Shall we point out to you a man who informs you that when you are scattered the utmost scattering you shall then be most surely (raised) in (to) a new creation?

কাফিররা বলে, আমরা কি তোমাদেরকে এমন ব্যক্তির সন্ধান দিব যে তোমাদেরকে বলে, ‘তোমাদের দেহ সম্পূর্ণ ছিন্নভিন্ন হইয়া পড়িলেও তোমরা নূতন সৃষ্টিরূপে উত্থিত হইবেই?’
Transliteration
Aftara AAala Allahi kathiban am bihi jinnatun bali allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati fee alAAathabi waalddalali albaAAeedi

He has forged a lie against Allah or there is madness in him. Nay! those who do not believe in the hereafter are in torment and in great error.

সে কি আল্লাহর সম্বন্ধে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করে অথবা সে কি উন্মাদ? বস্তুত যাহারা আখিরাতে বিশ্বাস করে না তাহারা শাস্তি ও ঘোর বিভ্রান্তিতে রহিয়াছে।
Transliteration
Afalam yaraw ila ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum mina alssamai waalardi in nasha nakhsif bihimu alarda aw nusqit AAalayhim kisafan mina alssamai inna fee thalika laayatan likulli AAabdin muneebin
Shakir
Do they not then consider what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and the earth? If We please We will make them disappear in the land or bring down upon them a portion from the heaven; most surely there is a sign in this for every servant turning (to Allah).

উহারা কি উহাদের সম্মুখে ও পশ্চাতে আসমান ও যমীনে যাহা আছে তাহার প্রতি লক্ষ্য করে না? আমি ইচ্ছা করিলে উহাদেরকেসহ ভূমি ধসাইয়া দিব অথবা উহাদের উপর আকাশখণ্ডের পততি করব। অভিমুখী প্রত্যকে বান্দার জন্য এতে অবশ্যই নর্দিশন রয়ছে।
Transliteration
Walaqad atayna dawooda minna fadlan ya jibalu awwibee maAAahu waalttayra waalanna lahu alhadeeda
Shakir
And certainly We gave to Dawood excellence from Us: O mountains! sing praises with him, and the birds; and We made the iron pliant to him,

আমি নিশ্চয়ই দাঊদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করিয়াছিলাম এবং আদেশ করিয়াছিলাম, ‘হে পর্বতমালা ! তোমরা দাঊদের সঙ্গে আমার পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা কর’ এবং বিহঙ্গকুলকেও, তাহার জন্য নমনীয় করিয়াছিলাম লৌহ -
And (We made) the wind (subservient) to Sulaiman, which made a month's journey in the morning and a month's journey in the evening, and We made a fountain of molten copper to flow out for him, and of the jinn there were those who worked before him by the command of his Lord; and whoever turned aside from Our command from among them, We made him taste of the punishment of burning.

আমি সুলায়মানের অধীন করিয়াছিলাম বায়ুকে যাহা প্রভাতে এক মাসের পথ অতিক্রম করিত এবং সন্ধ্যায় এক মাসের পথ অতিক্রম করিত। আমি তাহার জন্য গলিত তাম্রের এক প্রস্রবণ প্রবাহিত করিয়াছিলাম। তাহার প্রতিপালকের অনুমতিক্রমে জিনদের কতক তাহার সম্মুখে কাজ করিত। উহাদের মধ্যে যে আমার নির্দেশ অমান্য করে তাহাকে আমি জ্বলন্ত অগ্নি - শাস্তি আস্বাদন করাইব।
Transliteration
YaAAmaloona lahu ma yashao min mahareeba watamatheela wajifanin kaaljawabi waqudoorin rasiyatin iAAmaloo ala dawooda shukran waqaleelun min AAibadiya alshshakooru
Shakir
They made for him what he pleased of fortresses and images, and bowls (large) as watering - troughs and cooking - pots that will not move from their place; give thanks, O family of Dawood! and very few of My servants are grateful.

উহারা সুলায়মানের ইচ্ছানুযায়ী প্রাসাদ, ভাস্কর্য, হাওযসদৃশ বৃহদাকার পাত্র এবং সুদৃঢ়ভাবে স্থাপিত ডেগ নির্মাণ করিত। আমি বলিয়াছিলাম, ‘হে দাঊদ - পরিবার! কৃতজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে তোমরা কাজ করিতে থাক। আমার বান্দাদের মধ্যে অল্পই কৃতজ্ঞ!’
Transliteration
Falamma qadayna AAalayhi almawta ma dallahum AAala mawtihi illa dabbatu alardi takulu minsaatahu falamma kharra tabayyanati aljinnu an law kanoo yaAAlamoona alghayba ma labithoo fee alAAathabi almuheeni

But when We decreed death for him, naught showed them his death but a creature of the earth that ate away his staff; and when it fell down, the jinn came to know plainly that if they had known the unseen, they would not have tarried in abasing torment.

যখন আমি সুলায়মানের মৃত্যু ঘটাইলাম তখন জিনদেরকে তাহার মৃত্যু বিষয় জানাইল কেবল মাটির পোকা যাহা তাহার লাঠি খাইতেছিল। যখন সে পড়িয়া গেল তখন জিনেরা বুঝিতে পারিল যে, উহারা যদি বিষয় অবগত থাকিত তাহা হইলে উহারা লাঞ্ছনাদায়ক শাস্তিতে আবদ্ধ থাকিত না।

Laqad kana lisabain fee maskanihim ayatun jannatani AAan yameenin washimalin kuloo min rizqi rabbikum waoshkuroo lahu baldatun tayyibatun warabbun ghafoorun

Certainly there was a sign for Saba in their abode; two gardens on the right and the left; eat of the sustenance of your Lord and give thanks to Him: a good land and a Forgiving Lord!

সাবাবাসীদের জন্য তো উহাদের বাসভূমিতে ছিল এক নিদর্শন : দুইটি উদ্যান, একটি ডান দিকে, অপরটি বাম দিকে, উহাদেরকে বলা হইয়াছিল, ‘তোমরা তোমাদের প্রতিপালক - প্রদত্ত রিযিক ভোগ কর এবং তাঁহার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর। উত্তম নগরী এবং ক্ষমাশীল প্রতিপালক।’
But they turned aside, so We sent upon them a torrent of which the rush could not be withstood, and in place of their two gardens We gave to them two gardens yielding bitter fruit and (growing) tamarisk and a few lote - trees.

পরে উহারা অবাধ্য হইল। ফলে আমি উহাদের উপর প্রবাহিত করিলাম বাঁধভাঙ্গা বন্যা এবং উহাদের উদ্যান দুইটিকে পরিবর্তন করিয়া দিলাম এমন দুইটি উদ্যানে যাহাতে উৎপন্ন হয় বিস্বাদ ফলমূল, ঝাউ গাছ এবং কিছু কুল গাছ।

Thalika jazaynahum bima kafaroo wahal nujazee illa alkafoora

This We requited them with because they disbelieved; and We do not punish any but the ungrateful.

আমি উহাদেরকে এই শাস্তি দিয়াছিলাম উহাদের কুফরীর জন্য। আমি কৃতঘ্ন ব্যতীত আর কাহাকেও এমন শাস্তি দেই না।
And We made between them and the towns which We had blessed (other) towns to be easily seen, and We apportioned the journey therein: Travel through them nights and days, secure.

উহাদের ও যেসব জনপদের প্রতি আমি অনুগ্রহ করিয়াছিলাম সেইগুলির মধ্যবর্তী স্থানে দৃশ্যমান বহু জনপদ স্থাপন করিয়াছিলাম এবং ঐসব জনপদে ভ্রমণের যথাযথ ব্যবস্থা করিয়াছিলাম এবং উহাদেরকে বলিয়াছিলাম, ‘তোমরা এইসব জনপদে নিরাপদে ভ্রমণ কর দিবস ও রজনীতে।’
And they said: O our Lord! make spaces to be longer between our journeys; and they were unjust to themselves so We made them stories and scattered them with an utter scattering; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one

কিন্তু উহারা বলিল, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক ! আমাদের সফরের মন্যিলের ব্যবধান বর্ধিত কর।’ উহারা নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করিয়াছিল। ফলে আমি উহাদেরকে কাহিনীর বিষয়বস্তুতে পরিণত করিলাম এবং উহাদেরকে ছিন্নভিন্ন করিয়া দিলাম। ইহাতে প্রত্যেক ধৈর্যশীল, কৃতজ্ঞ ব্যক্তির জন্য নিদর্শন রহিয়াছে।
Transliteration
Walaqad saddaqa AAalayhim ibleesu thannahu faittabaAAoohu illa fareeqan mina almumineena

And certainly the Shaitan found true his conjecture concerning them, so they follow him, except a party of the believers.

উহাদের সম্বন্ধে ইব্লীস তাহার ধারণা সত্য প্রমাণ করিল, ফলে উহাদের মধ্যে একটি দল ব্যতীত সকলেই তাহার অনুসরণ করিল ;

Wama kana lahu AAalayhim min sultanin illa linaAAlama man yuminu bialakhirati mimman huwa minha fee shakkin warabbuka AAala kulli shayin hafeethun
Shakir
And he has no authority over them, but that We may distinguish him who believes in the hereafter from him who is in doubt concerning it; and your Lord is the Preserver of all things

উহাদের উপর শয়তানের কোন আধিপত্য ছিল না। কাহারা আখিরাতে এবং কাহারা উহাতে সন্দিহান তাহা প্রকাশ করিয়া দেওয়াই ছিল আমার উদ্দেশ্য। তোমার প্রতিপালক সর্ববিষয়ে হিফাযতকারী।
Transliteration
Quli odAAoo allatheena zaAAamtum min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona mithqala tharratin fee alssamawati wala fee alardi wama lahum feehima min shirkin wama lahu minhum min thaheerin
Shakir
Say: Call upon those whom you assert besides Allah; they do not control the weight of an atom in the heavens or in the earth nor have they any partnership in either, nor has He among them any one to back (Him) up.

বল, ‘তোমরা আহ্বান কর উহাদেরকে যাহাদেরকে তোমরা পরিবর্তে ইলাহ্ মনে করিতে। উহারা আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীতে অণু পরিমাণ কিছুর মালিক নয় এবং এতদুভয়ে উহাদের কোন অংশও নাই এবং উহাদের কেউ তাঁহার সহায়কও নয়।’
Transliteration
Wala tanfaAAu alshshafaAAatu AAindahu illa liman athina lahu hatta itha fuzziAAa AAan quloobihim qaloo matha qala rabbukum qaloo alhaqqa wahuwa alAAaliyyu alkabeeru
Shakir
And intercession will not avail aught with Him save of him whom He permits. Until when fear shall be removed from their hearts, They shall say: What is it that your Lord said? They shall say: The truth. And He is the Most High, the Great.

যাহাকে অনুমতি দেওয়া হয় সে ব্যতীত নিকট কাহারও সুপারিশ ফলপ্রসূ হইবে না। পরে যখন উহাদের অন্তর হইতে ভয় বিদূরিত হইবে তখন উহারা পরস্পরের মধ্যে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করিবে, ‘তোমাদের প্রতিপালক কী বলিলেন?’ তদুত্তরে তাহারা বলিবে, ‘যাহা সত্য তিনি তাহাই বলিয়াছেন।’ তিনি সমুচ্চ, মহান।

Qul man yarzuqukum mina alssamawati waalardi quli Allahu wainna aw iyyakum laAAala hudan aw fee dalalin mubeenin

Say: Who gives you the sustenance from the heavens and the earth? Say: Allah. And most surely we or you are on a right way or in manifest error

বল, ‘আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবী হইতে কে তোমাদেরকে রিযিক প্রদান করেন?’ বল, হয় আমরা না হয় তোমরা সৎপথে স্থিত অথবা স্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতে পতিত।’
Transliteration
Qul la tusaloona AAamma ajramna wala nusalu AAamma taAAmaloona
Shakir
Say: You will not be questioned as to what we are guilty of, nor shall we be questioned as to what you do.

বল, ‘আমাদের অপরাধের জন্য তোমাদেরকে জবাবদিহি করিতে হইবে না এবং তোমরা যাহা কর সে সম্পর্কে আমাদেরকেও জবাবদিহি করিতে হইবে না।’
And those who disbelieve say: By no means will we believe in this Quran, nor in that which is before it; and could you see when the unjust shall be made to stand before their Lord, bandying words one with another! Those who were reckoned weak shall say to those who were proud: Had it not been for you we would certainly have been believers.

কাফিররা বলে, ‘আমরা এই কুরআনে কখনও বিশ্বাস করিব না, ইহার পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবসমূহেও নয়। হায়! তুমি যদি দেখিতে জালিমদেরকে যখন তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের সম্মুখে দণ্ডায়মান করা হইবে তখন উহারা পরস্পর বাদ - প্রতিবাদ করিতে থাকিবে, যাহাদেরকে দুর্বল মনে করা হইত তাহারা ক্ষমতাদর্পীদেরকে বলিবে, ‘তোমরা না থাকিলে আমরা অবশ্যই হইতাম।’

Qala allatheena istakbaroo lillatheena istudAAifoo anahnu sadadnakum AAani alhuda baAAda ith jaakum bal kuntum mujrimeena
Shakir
Those who were proud shall say to those who were deemed weak: Did we turn you away from the guidance after it had come to you? Nay, you (yourselves) were guilty

যাহারা ক্ষমতাদর্পী ছিল তাহারা, যাহাদেরকে দুর্বল মনে করা হইত তাহাদেরকে বলিবে, ‘তোমাদের নিকট সৎপথের দিশা আসিবার পর আমরা কি তোমাদেরকে উহা হইতে নিবৃত্ত করিয়াছিলাম? বস্তুত তোমরাই তো ছিলে অপরাধী ।’
Transliteration
Waqala allatheena istudAAifoo lillatheena istakbaroo bal makru allayli waalnnahari ith tamuroonana an nakfura biAllahi wanajAAala lahu andadan waasarroo alnnadamata lamma raawoo alAAathaba wajaAAalna alaghlala fee aAAnaqi allatheena kafaroo hal yujzawna illa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Shakir
And those who were deemed weak shall say to those who were proud. Nay, (it was) planning by night and day when you told us to disbelieve in Allah and to set up likes with Him. And they shall conceal regret when they shall see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved; they shall not be requited but what they did.

যাহাদেরকে দুর্বল মনে করা হইত তাহারা ক্ষমতাদর্পীদেরকে বলিবে, ‘প্রকৃতপক্ষে তোমরাই তো দিবারাত্র চক্রান্তের লিপ্ত ছিলে, আমাদেরকে নির্দেশ দিয়াছিলে যেন আমরা অমান্য করি এবং তাঁহার শরীক স্থাপন করি।’ যখন তাহারা শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করিবে তখন তাহারা অনুতাপ গোপন রাখিবে এবং আমি কাফিরদের গলদেশে শৃংখল পরাইব। উহাদেরকে উহারা যাহা করিত তাহারই প্রতিফল দেওয়া হইবে।
Transliteration
Wama arsalna fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona
Shakir
And We never sent a warner to a town but those who led lives in ease in it said: We are surely disbelievers in what you are sent with.

যখনই আমি কোন জনপদে সতর্ককারী প্রেরণ করিয়াছি উহার বিত্তশালী অধিবাসীরা বলিয়াছে, ‘তোমরা যাহাসহ প্রেরিত হইয়াছ আমরা তাহা প্রত্যাখ্যান করি।’
And not your wealth nor your children, are the things which bring you near Us in station, but whoever believes and does good, these it is for whom is a double reward for what they do, and they shall be secure in the highest places.

তোমাদের ধন - সম্পদ ও সন্তান - সন্ততি এমন কিছু নয় যাহা তোমাদেরকে আমার নিকটবর্তী করিয়া দিবে ; তবে যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে, তাহারাই তাহাদের কর্মের জন্য পাইবে বহুগুণ পুরস্কার; আর তাহারা প্রাসাদে নিরাপদে থাকিবে।
And (as for) those who strive in opposing Our communications, they shall be caused to be brought to the chastisement.

যাহারা আমার আয়াতকে ব্যর্থ করিবার চেষ্টা করিবে তাহারা শাস্তি ভোগ করিতে থাকিবে।
Transliteration
Qul inna rabbee yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu wama anfaqtum min shayin fahuwa yukhlifuhu wahuwa khayru alrraziqeena
Shakir
Say: Surely my Lord amplifies the means of subsistence for whom He pleases of His servants and straitens (them) for whom (He pleases), and whatever thing you spend, He exceeds it in reward, and He is the best of Sustainers.

বল, ‘আমার প্রতিপালক তো তাঁহার বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাহার প্রতি ইচ্ছা রিযিক বর্ধিত করেন এবং যাহার প্রতি ইচ্ছা সীমিত করেন। তোমরা যাহা কিছু ব্যয় করিবে তিনি তাহার প্রতিদান দিবেন। তিনিই শ্রেষ্ঠ রিযিকদাতা।’
So on that day one of you shall not control profit or harm for another, and We will say to those who were unjust: Taste the chastisement of the fire which you called a lie.

আজ তোমাদের একে অন্যের উপকারে কিংবা অপকার করিবার ক্ষমতা নাই। যাহারা জুলুম করিয়াছিল তাহাদের কে বলিব, তোমারা যে অগ্নি শাস্তি অস্বীকার করিতে তাহা আস্বাদন কর।
Transliteration
Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin qaloo ma hatha illa rajulun yureedu an yasuddakum AAamma kana yaAAbudu abaokum waqaloo ma hatha illa ifkun muftaran waqala allatheena kafaroo lilhaqqi lamma jaahum in hatha illa sihrun mubeenun

And when Our clear communications are recited to them, they say: This is naught but a man who desires to turn you away from that which your fathers worshipped. And they say: This is naught but a lie that is forged. And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it comes to them: This is only clear enchantment.

ইহাদের নিকট যখন আমার সুস্পষ্ট আয়াতসমূহ তিলাওয়াত করা হয় তখন ইহারা বলে, ‘তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষ যাহার ‘ইবাদত করিত এই ব্যক্তিই তো তাহার ‘ইবাদতে তোমাদেরকে বাধা দিতে চায়।’ ইহারা আরও বলে, ‘ইহা তো মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন ব্যতীত কিছু নয়,’ এবং কাফিরদের নিকট যখন সত্য আসে তখন উহারা বলে, ‘ইহা তো এক সুস্পষ্ট জাদু।’
Transliteration
Wamaataynahum min kutubin yadrusoonaha wama arsalna ilayhim qablaka min natheerin
Shakir
And We have not given them any books which they read, nor did We send to them before you a warner.

আমি ইহাদেরকে পূর্বে কোন কিতাব দেই নাই যাহা ইহারা অধ্যয়ন করিত এবং তোমার পূর্বে ইহাদের নিকট কোন সতর্ককারীও প্রেরণ করি নাই।

Wakaththaba allatheena min qablihim wama balaghoo miAAshara maataynahum fakaththaboo rusulee fakayfa kana nakeeri
Shakir
And those before them rejected (the truth), and these have not yet attained a tenth of what We gave them, but they gave the lie to My apostles, then how was the manifestation of My disapproval?

ইহাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও মিথ্যা আরোপ করিয়াছিল। উহাদেরকে আমি যাহা দিয়াছিলাম, ইহারা তাহার এক - দশমাংশও পায় নাই, তবুও উহারা আমার রাসূলদেরকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলিয়াছিল। ফলে কত ভয়ংকর হইয়াছিল আমার শাস্তি।
Transliteration
Qul innama aAAithukum biwahidatin an taqoomoo lillahi mathna wafurada thumma tatafakkaroo ma bisahibikum min jinnatin in huwa illa natheerun lakum bayna yaday AAathabin shadeedin
Shakir
Say: I exhort you only to one thing, that rise up for Allah's sake in twos and singly, then ponder: there is no madness in your fellow - citizen; he is only a warner to you before a severe chastisement.

বল, ‘আমি তোমাদেরকে একটি বিষয়ে উপদেশ দিতেছি : তোমরা উদ্দেশ্যে দুই - দুইজন অথবা এক - একজন করিয়া দাঁড়াও, অতঃপর তোমরা চিন্তা করিয়া দেখ - তোমাদের সঙ্গী আদৌ উন্মাদ নয়। সে তো আসন্ন কঠিন শাস্তি সম্পর্কে তোমাদের সতর্ককারী মাত্র।বল, ‘আমি তোমাদেরকে একটি বিষয়ে উপদেশ দিতেছি : তোমরা উদ্দেশ্যে দুই - দুইজন অথবা এক - একজন করিয়া দাঁড়াও, অতঃপর তোমরা চিন্তা করিয়া দেখ - তোমাদের সঙ্গী আদৌ উন্মাদ নয়। সে তো আসন্ন কঠিন শাস্তি সম্পর্কে তোমাদের সতর্ককারী মাত্র।
Transliteration
Qul ma saaltukum min ajrin fahuwa lakum in ajriya illa AAala Allahi wahuwa AAala kulli shayin shaheedun
Shakir
Say: Whatever reward I have asked of you, that is only for yourselves; my reward is only with Allah, and He is a witness of all things.

বল, ‘আমি তোমাদের নিকট কোন পারিশ্রমিক চাই না, তাহা তো তোমাদেরই ; আমার পুরস্কার তাে আল্লাহর কাছে রয়েছে। প্রত্যকে বস্তুই তাঁর সামন।
Say: If I err, I err only against my own soul, and if I follow a right direction, it is because of what my Lord reveals to me; surely He is Hearing, Nigh.

বল, ‘আমি বিভ্রান্তহইলে বিভ্রান্তির পরিণাম আমারই এবং যদি আমি সৎপথে থাকি তবে তাহা এইজন্য যে, আমার প্রতি আমার প্রতিপালক ওহী প্রেরণ করেন। তিনি সর্বশ্রোতা, সন্নিকট।’
Transliteration
Walaw tara ith faziAAoo fala fawta waokhithoo min makanin qareebin
Shakir
And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place

তুমি যদি দেখিতে যখন ইহারা ভীত - বিহ্বল হইয়া পড়িবে, তখন ইহারা অব্যাহতি পাইবে না এবং ইহারা নিকটস্থ স্থান হইতে ধৃত হইবে,
Transliteration
Waqaloo amanna bihi waanna lahumu alttanawushu min makanin baAAeedin
Shakir
And they shall say: We believe in it. And how shall the attaining (of faith) be possible to them from a distant place?

এবং ইহারা বলিবে, ‘আমরা তাহাতে ঈমান আনিলাম।’ কিন্তু এত দূরবর্তী স্থান হইতে উহারা নাগাল পাইবে কিরূপে?
Transliteration
Waqad kafaroo bihi min qablu wayaqthifoona bialghaybi min makanin baAAeedin
Shakir
And they disbelieved in it before, and they utter conjectures with regard to the unseen from a distant place.

উহারা তো পূর্বে তাহা প্রত্যাখ্যান করিয়াছিল ; উহারা দূরবর্তী স্থান হইতে বিষয়ে বাক্য ছুঁড়িয়া মারিত।
Transliteration
Waheela baynahum wabayna ma yashtahoona kama fuAAila biashyaAAihim min qablu innahum kanoo fee shakkin mureebin
Shakir
And a barrier shall be placed between them and that which they desire, as was done with the likes of them before: surely they are in a disquieting doubt.
