আর তোমরা তোমাদের রবের কাছে ক্ষমা চাও। তারপর তার কাছে ফিরে যাও, (তাহলে) তিনি তোমাদেরকে নির্ধারিত সময় পর্যন্ত উত্তম ভোগ-উপকরণ দেবেন এবং প্রর্তেক আনুগত্যশীলকে তাঁর আনুগত্য মুতাবিক দান করবেন। আর যদি তারা ফিরে যায়, তবে আমি নিশ্চয় তোমাদের উপর বড় এক দিনের আযাবের
Shakir
And you that ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn to Him; He will provide you with a goodly provision to an appointed term and bestow His grace on every one endowed with grace, and if you turn back, then surely I fear for you the chastisement of a great day.
Transliteration
Ila Allahi marjiAAukum wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

আল্লাহর নিকটই তোমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তন এবং তিনি সব কিছুর উপর ক্ষমতাশীল।

To Allah is your return, and He has power over all things.
Transliteration
Ala innahum yathnoona sudoorahum liyastakhfoo minhu alaheena yastaghshoona thiyabahum yaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

জেনে রাখ, নিশ্চয় তারা তাদের বুক ফিরিয়ে নেয়, যাতে তারা তার থেকে আত্মগোপন করতে পারে। জেনে রাখ, যখন তারা কাপড় আবৃত হয়, তখন তিনি জানেন যা তারা গোপন করে এবং যা তারা প্রকাশ করে। নিশ্চয় তিনি অন্তর্যামী।

Now surely they fold up their breasts that they may conceal (their enmity) from Him; now surely, when they use their garments as a covering, He knows what they conceal and what they make public; surely He knows what is in the breasts.
Transliteration
Wama min dabbatin fee alardi illa AAala Allahi rizquha wayaAAlamu mustaqarraha wamustawdaAAaha kullun fee kitabin mubeenin

And there is no animal in the earth but on Allah is the sustenance of it, and He knows its resting place and its depository all (things) are in a manifest book.
আর তিনিই আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন সৃষ্টি করেছেন ছয় দিনে, আর তাঁর আরশ ছিল পানির উপর, যাতে তিনি পরীক্ষা করেন, কে তোমাদের মধ্যে আমলে সর্বোত্তম। আর তুমি যদি বল, ‘মৃত্যুর পর নিশ্চয় তোমাদেরকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করা হবে’, তবে কাফিররা অবশ্যই বলবে, ‘এতো শুধুই স্পষ্ট যাদু’।
Shakir
And He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods - - and His dominion (extends) on the water - - that He might manifest to you, which of you is best in action, and if you say, surely you shall be raised up after death, those who disbelieve would certainly say: This is nothing but clear magic.
Transliteration
Walain akhkharna AAanhumu alAAathaba ila ommatin maAAdoodatin layaqoolunna ma yahbisuhu ala yawma yateehim laysa masroofan AAanhum wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

আর যদি আমি নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর্যন্ত তাদের থেকে আযাব বিলম্বিত করি, তবে তারা অবশ্যই বলবে, ‘কোন্ বস্তু তাকে ঠেকিয়ে রাখল’? সাবধান ! যেদিন তাদের উপর তা নেমে আসবে, সেদিন তাদের থেকে তা ফেরানো হবে না এবং তারা যা নিয়ে উপহাস করত, তাদেরকে তা ঘিরে ফেলবে।
Shakir
And if We hold back from them the punishment until a stated period of time, they will certainly say: What prevents it? Now surely on the day when it will come to them, it shall not be averted from them and that which they scoffed at shall beset them.
আর দুঃখ-দুর্দশা স্পর্শ করার পর যদি আমি তাকে নিআমত আস্বাদন করাই, তাহলে সে অবশ্যই বলবে, ‘আমার থেকে বিপদ-আপদ দূর হয়ে গেছে, আর সে হবে অতি উৎফুল্ল, অহঙ্কারী।
Shakir
And if We make him taste a favor after distress has afflicted him, he will certainly say: The evils are gone away from me. Most surely he is exulting, boasting;

Illa allatheena sabaroo waAAamiloo alssalihati olaika lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun

তবে যারা সবর করেছে এবং সৎকর্ম করেছে, তাদের জন্যই রয়েছে ক্ষমা ও মহা প্রতিদান।

Except those who are patient and do good, they shall have forgiveness and a great reward.
Transliteration
FalaAAallaka tarikun baAAda ma yooha ilayka wadaiqun bihi sadruka an yaqooloo lawla onzila AAalayhi kanzun aw jaa maAAahu malakun innama anta natheerun waAllahu AAala kulli shayin wakeelun

তাহলে সম্ভবত তুমি তোমার উপর অবতীর্ণ ওহীর কিছু বিষয় ছেড়ে দেবে এবং তোমার বুক সঙ্কুচিত হবে এ কারণে যে, তারা বলে, ‘কেন তার উপর ধন-ভান্ডার অবতীর্ণ হয়নি, কিংবা তার সাথে ফেরেশতা আসেনি’? তুমি তো শুধু সতর্ককারী আর সব কিছুর তত্ত্বাবধায়ক।
Shakir
Then, it may be that you will give up part of what is revealed to you and your breast will become straitened by it because they say: Why has not a treasure been sent down upon him or an angel come with him? You are only a warner; and Allah is custodian over all things.
Transliteration
Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul fatoo biAAashri suwarin mithlihi muftarayatin waodAAoo mani istataAAtum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena

নাকি তারা বলে, ‘সে এটা রটনা করেছে’? বল, ‘তাহলে তোমরা এর অনুরূপ দশটি সূরা বানিয়ে নিয়ে আস এবং ছাড়া যাকে পার ডেকে আন, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও’।

Or, do they say: He has forged it. Say: Then bring ten forged chapters like it and call upon whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful.
Transliteration
Fai llam yastajeeboo lakum faiAAlamoo annama onzila biAAilmi Allahi waan la ilaha illa huwa fahal antum muslimoona

অতঃপর তারা যদি তোমাদের আহবানে সাড়া না দেয়, তাহলে জেনে রাখ, এটা আল্লাহর জ্ঞান অনুসারেই নাযিল করা হয়েছে এবং তিনি ছাড়া কোন (সত্য) ইলাহ্ নেই। অতঃপর তোমরা কি অনুগত হবে?

But if they do not answer you, then know that it is revealed by Allah's knowledge and that there is no god but He; will you then submit?
Transliteration
Man kana yureedu alhayata alddunya wazeenataha nuwaffi ilayhim aAAmalahum feeha wahum feeha la yubkhasoona

যে ব্যক্তি দুনিয়ার জীবন ও তার জৌলুস কামনা করে, আমি সেখানে তাদেরকে তাদের আমলের ফল পুরোপুরি দিয়ে দেই এবং সেখানে তাদেরকে কম দেয়া হবে না।

Whoever desires this world's life and its finery, We will pay them in full their deeds therein, and they shall not be made to. suffer loss in respect of them.
Transliteration
Olaika allatheena laysa lahum fee alakhirati illa alnnaru wahabita masanaAAoo feeha wabatilun ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

এরাই তারা, আখিরাতে যাদের জন্য আগুন ছাড়া আর কিছুই নেই এবং তারা সেখানে যা করে তা বরবাদ হয়ে যাবে আর তারা যা করত, তা সম্পূর্ণ বাতিল।

These are they for whom there is nothing but fire in the hereafter, and what they wrought in it shall go for nothing, and vain is what they do.
Transliteration
Afaman kana AAala bayyinatin min rabbihi wayatloohu shahidun minhu wamin qablihi kitabu moosa imaman warahmatan olaika yuminoona bihi waman yakfur bihi mina alahzabi faalnnaru mawAAiduhu fala taku fee miryatin minhu innahu alhaqqu min rabbika walakinna akthara alnnasi la yuminoona

Is he then who has with him clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it and before it (is) the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy? These believe in it; and whoever of the (different) parties disbelieves in it, surely it is the truth from your Lord, but most men do not believe.
যারা আল্লাহর ব্যাপারে মিথ্যা রটনা করে, তাদের চেয়ে অধিক যালিম কে? তাদেরকে তাদের রবের সামনে উপস্থিত করা হবে এবং সাক্ষীগণ বলবে, ‘এরাই তাদের রবের ব্যাপারে মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল’। সাবধান, যালিমদের উপর আল্লাহর লা‘নত।
Shakir
And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah? These shall be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses shall say: These are they who lied against their Lord. Now surely the curse of Allah is on the unjust.
যারা আল্লাহর পথ থেকে মানুষকে বাধা দেয় এবং তাকে বক্র করতে চায়। আর এরাই তো অস্বীকারকারী।
Shakir
Who turn away from the path of Allah and desire to make it crooked; and they are disbelievers in the hereafter.
Transliteration
Olaika lam yakoonoo muAAjizeena fee alardi wama kana lahum min dooni Allahi min awliyaa yudaAAafu lahumu alAAathabu ma kanoo yastateeAAoona alssamAAa wama kanoo yubsiroona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তারা যমীনে (আল্লাহকে) অক্ষম করতে পারত না এবং ছাড়া তাদের কোন সাহায্যকারী ছিল না, তাদের জন্য আযাব দ্বিগুণ করা হবে। তারা শুনতে সক্ষম ছিল না এবং দেখতেও পেত না।
Shakir
These shall not escape in the earth, nor shall they have any guardians besides Allah; the punishment shall be doubled for them, they could not bear to hear and they did not see.
Transliteration
Olaika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona

এরা তো নিজদেরই ক্ষতি করেছে, আর তারা যা রটিয়ে বেড়াত, তাদের থেকে তা হারিয়ে গেছে।

These are they who have lost their souls, and what they forged is gone from them.

La jarama annahum fee alakhirati humu alakhsaroona

নিঃসন্দেহে তারাই আখিরাতে সর্বাধিক ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।

Truly in the hereafter they are the greatest losers.
দল দু’টির উপমা হচ্ছে অন্ধ ও বধির এবং চক্ষুষ্মান ও শ্রবণশক্তিসম্পন্নের মত, তুলনায় উভয় দল কি সমান? এরপরও কি তোমরা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করবে না?

The likeness of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf and the seeing and the hearing: are they equal in condition? Will you not then mind?
Transliteration
Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi innee lakum natheerun mubeenun

আর অবশ্যই আমি নূহকে প্রেরণ করেছিলাম তার কওমের কাছে (এই বার্তা দিয়ে) যে, ‘আমি তোমাদের জন্য স্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী’।

And certainly We sent Nuh to his people: Surely I am a plain warner for you:
Transliteration
An la taAAbudoo illa Allaha innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin aleemin

‘যেন তোমরা ছাড়া কারো ইবাদাত না কর। নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের উপর যন্ত্রণাদায়ক দিবসের আযাবের ভয় করছি’।
Shakir
That you shall not serve any but Allah, surely I fear for you the punishment of a painful day.
Transliteration
Faqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi ma naraka illa basharan mithlana wama naraka ittabaAAaka illa allatheena hum arathiluna badiya alrrayi wama nara lakum AAalayna min fadlin bal nathunnukum kathibeena

অতঃপর তার কওমের নেতৃস্থানীয়রা, যারা করেছিল, তারা বলল, ‘আমরা তো তোমাকে আমাদের মত একজন মানুষ ছাড়া আর কিছু দেখছি না এবং আমরা দেখছি যে, কেবল আমাদের নীচু শ্রেণীর লোকেরাই বিবেচনাহীনভাবে তোমার অনুসরণ করেছে। আর আমাদের উপর তোমাদের কোন শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব আমরা দেখছি ন

But the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: We do not consider you but a mortal like ourselves, and we do not see any have followed you but those who are the meanest of us at first thought and we do not see in you any excellence over us; nay, we deem you liars.
Transliteration
Qala ya qawmi araaytum in kuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee waatanee rahmatan min AAindihi faAAummiyat AAalaykum anulzimukumooha waantum laha karihoona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সে বলল, ‘হে আমার কওম, তোমরা কি মনে কর, যদি আমি আমার রবের পক্ষ থেকে প্রেরিত প্রমাণের উপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত হই এবং তিনি আমাকে তাঁর পক্ষ থেকে রহমত দিয়ে থাকেন, আর তা তোমাদের কাছে গোপন রাখা হয়, তবে কি আমি তোমাদের উপর তোমাদের অপছন্দ হওয়া সত্ত্বেও তা চাপিয়ে দেব’?
Shakir
He said: O my people! tell me if I have with me clear proof from my Lord, and He has granted me mercy from Himself and it has been made obscure to you; shall we constrain you to (accept) it while you are averse from it?
Transliteration
Waya qawmi la asalukum AAalayhi malan in ajriya illa AAala Allahi wama ana bitaridi allatheena amanoo innahum mulaqoo rabbihim walakinnee arakum qawman tajhaloona

‘আর হে আমার কওম, এর বিনিময়ে আমি তোমাদের কাছে কোন সম্পদ চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান শুধু আল্লাহর কাছে। যারা ঈমান এনেছে, আমি তাদের তাড়িয়ে দিতে পারি না। নিশ্চয় তারা তাদের রবের সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করবে। কিন্তু আমি তো দেখছি তোমরা এক অজ্ঞ জাতি’।

And, O my people! I ask you not for wealth in return for it; my reward is only with Allah and I am not going to drive away those who believe; surely they shall meet their Lord, but I consider you a people who are ignorant:
Transliteration
Waya qawmi man yansurunee mina Allahi in taradtuhum afala tathakkaroona

‘হে আমার কওম, যদি আমি তাদেরকে তাড়িয়ে দেই, তবে আল্লাহর আযাব থেকে কে আমাকে সাহায্য করবে? এরপরও কি তোমরা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করবে না’?

And, O my people! who will help me against Allah if I drive them away? Will you not then mind?
‘আর আমি তোমাদের বলছি না যে, ‘আমার কাছে আল্লাহর ভান্ডারসমূহ আছে’ এবং আমি জানি না আর আমি এও বলছি না যে, ‘আমি ফেরেশতা’। তোমাদের চোখে যারা হীন, তাদের সম্পর্কে আমি বলছি না যে, ‘ তাদেরকে কখনো কোন কল্যাণ দান করবেন না’। তাদের অন্তরে যা আছে, সে সম্পর্ক

And I do not say to you that I have the treasures of Allah and I do not know the unseen, nor do I say that I am an angel, nor do I say about those whom your eyes hold in mean estimation (that) Allah will never grant them (any) good - - Allah knows best what is in their souls - - for then most surely I should be of the unjust.
Transliteration
Qaloo ya noohu qad jadaltana faaktharta jidalana fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তারা বলল, ‘হে নূহ, তুমি আমাদের সাথে বাদানুবাদ করছ এবং আমাদের সাথে অতিমাত্রায় বিবাদ করেছ। অতএব যার প্রতিশ্রুতি তুমি আমাদেরকে দিচ্ছ, তা আমাদের কাছে নিয়ে আস, যদি তুমি সত্যবাদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হও’।

They said: O Nuh! indeed you have disputed with us and lengthened dispute with us, therefore bring to us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful ones.
Transliteration
Qala innama yateekum bihi Allahu in shaa wama antum bimuAAjizeena

সে বলল, ‘আল্লাহই তো তোমাদের কাছে তা হাজির করবেন, যদি তিনি চান। আর তোমরা তাকে অক্ষম করতে পারবে না’।

He said: Allah only will bring it to you if He please, and you will not escape:
Transliteration
Wala yanfaAAukum nushee in aradtu an ansaha lakum in kana Allahu yureedu an yughwiyakum huwa rabbukum wailayhi turjaAAoona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
‘আর আমি তোমাদেরকে উপদেশ দিতে চাইলেও আমার উপদেশ তোমাদের কোন উপকারে আসবে না, যদি তোমাদের বিভ্রান্ত করতে চান। তিনি তোমাদের রব এবং তাঁর কাছেই তোমাদেরকে ফিরিয়ে নেয়া হবে’।

And if I intend to give you good advice, my advice will not profit you if Allah intended that He should leave you to go astray; He is your Lord, and to Him shall you be returned.
Transliteration
Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul ini iftaraytuhu faAAalayya ijramee waana bareeon mimma tujrimoona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
নাকি তারা বলে, ‘সে এটা রচনা করেছে’। বল, ‘যদি আমি তা রচনা করে থাকি, তবে আমার অপরাধ আমার উপরই বর্তাবে এবং তোমরা যে অপরাধ করছ, আমি তা থেকে মুক্ত’।

Or do they say: He has forged it? Say: If I have forged it, on me is my guilt, and I am clear of that of which you are guilty.
Transliteration
Waoohiya ila noohin annahu lan yumina min qawmika illa man qad amana fala tabtais bima kanoo yafAAaloona

আর নূহের কাছে ওহী পাঠানো হল যে, ‘যারা ঈমান এনেছে, তারা ছাড়া তোমার কওমের আর কেউ ঈমান আনবে না। সুতরাং তারা যা করে সে জন্য তুমি দুঃখিত হয়ো না’।

And it was revealed to Nuh: That none of your people will believe except those who have already believed, therefore do not grieve at what they do:
‘আর তুমি আমার চোখের সামনে ও আমার ওহী অনুসারে নৌকা তৈরী কর। আর যারা যুলম করেছে, তাদের ব্যাপারে তুমি আমার কাছে কোন আবেদন করো না। নিশ্চয় তাদেরকে ডুবানো হবে’।
Shakir
And make the ark before Our eyes and (according to) Our revelation, and do not speak to Me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned.
Transliteration
WayasnaAAu alfulka wakullama marra AAalayhi malaon min qawmihi sakhiroo minhu qala in taskharoo minna fainna naskharu minkum kama taskharoona

আর সে নৌকা তৈরী করতে লাগল এবং যখনই তার কওমের নেতৃস্থানীয় কোন ব্যক্তি তার পাশ দিয়ে যেত, তাকে নিয়ে উপহাস করত। সে বলল, ‘যদি তোমরা আমাদের নিয়ে উপহাস কর, তবে আমরাও তোমাদের নিয়ে উপহাস করব, যেমন তোমরা উপহাস করছ’।

And he began to make the ark; and whenever the chiefs from among his people passed by him they laughed at him. He said: If you laugh at us, surely we too laugh at you as you laugh (at us).
Transliteration
Fasawfa taAAlamoona man yateehi AAathabun yukhzeehi wayahillu AAalayhi AAathabun muqeemun

অতএব, শীঘ্রই তোমরা জানতে পারবে, কার উপর সে আযাব আসবে যা তাকে লাঞ্ছিত করবে এবং কার উপর আপতিত হবে স্থায়ী আযাব।

So shall you know who it is on whom will come a chastisement which will disgrace him, and on whom will lasting chastisement come down.
Transliteration
Hatta itha jaa amruna wafara alttannooru qulna ihmil feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu waman amana wamaamana maAAahu illa qaleelun

Until when Our command came and water came forth from the valley, We said: Carry in it two of all things, a pair, and your own family - - except those against whom the word has already gone forth, and those who believe. And there believed not with him but a few.
আর তা পাহাড়সম ঢেউয়ের মধ্যে তাদেরকে নিয়ে চলছিল এবং নূহ তার পুত্রকে ডাক দিল, আর সে ছিল আলাদা স্থানে- ‘হে আমার পুত্র, আমাদের সাথে আরোহণ কর এবং কাফিরদের সাথে থেকো না’।

And it moved on with them amid waves like mountains; and Nuh called out to his son, and he was aloof: O my son! embark with us and be not with the unbelievers.
Transliteration
Qala saawee ila jabalin yaAAsimunee mina almai qala la AAasima alyawma min amri Allahi illa man rahima wahala baynahuma almawju fakana mina almughraqeena

সে বলল, ‘অচিরেই আমি একটি পাহাড়ে আশ্রয় নেব, যা আমাকে পানি থেকে রক্ষা করবে’। সে (নূহ) বলল, ‘যার প্রতি দয়া করেছেন সে ছাড়া আজ আল্লাহর আদেশ থেকে কোন রক্ষাকারী নেই’। এরপর তাদের উভয়ের মধ্যে ঢেউ অন্তরায় হয়ে গেল। অতঃপর সে নিমজ্জিতদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে গেল ।

He said: I will betake myself for refuge to a mountain that shall protect me from the water. Nuh said: There is no protector today from Allah's punishment but He Who has mercy; and a wave intervened between them, so he was of the drowned.
আর বলা হল, ‘হে যমীন, তুমি তোমার পানি চুষে নাও, আর হে আসমান, বিরত হও’। অতঃপর পানি কমে গেল এবং (আল্লাহর) সিদ্ধান্ত বাস্তবায়িত হল, আর নৌকা জুদী পর্বতের উপর উঠল এবং ঘোষণা করা হল, ‘ধ্বংস যালিম কওমের জন্য’।
Shakir
And it was said: O earth, swallow down your water, and O cloud, clear away; and the water was made to abate and the affair was decided, and the ark rested on the Judi, and it was said: Away with the unjust people.
আর নূহ তার রবকে ডাকল এবং বলল, ‘হে আমার রব, নিশ্চয় আমার সন্তান আমার পরিবারভুক্ত এবং আপনার ওয়াদা নিশ্চয় সত্য। আর আপনি বিচারকদের মধ্যে শ্রেষ্ঠ বিচারক’।
Shakir
And Nuh cried out to his Lord and said: My Lord! surely my son is of my family, and Thy promise is surely true, and Thou art the most just of the judges.
Transliteration
Qala ya noohu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu AAamalun ghayru salihin fala tasalni ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun innee aAAithuka an takoona mina aljahileena
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তিনি বললেন, ‘হে নূহ, সে নিশ্চয় তোমার পরিবারভুক্ত নয়। সে অবশ্যই অসৎ কর্মপরায়ণ। সুতরাং যে বিষয়ে তোমার কোন জ্ঞান নেই, আমার কাছে তা চেয়ো না। আমি তোমাকে উপদেশ দিচ্ছি, যেন মূর্খদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত না হও’।
Shakir
He said: O Nuh! surely he is not of your family; surely he is (the doer of) other than good deeds, therefore ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge; surely I admonish you lest you may be of the ignorant
Transliteration
Qala rabbi innee aAAoothu bika an asalaka ma laysa lee bihi AAilmun wailla taghfir lee watarhamnee akun mina alkhasireena
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সে বলল, ‘হে আমার রব, যে বিষয়ে আমার জ্ঞান নেই তা চাওয়া থেকে আমি অবশ্যই আপনার আশ্রয় চাই। আর যদি আপনি আমাকে মাফ না করেন এবং আমার প্রতি দয়া না করেন, তবে আমি ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যাব’।
Shakir
He said: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from asking Thee that of which I have no knowledge; and if Thou shouldst not forgive me and have mercy on me, I should be of the losers.
Transliteration
Qeela ya noohu ihbit bisalamin minna wabarakatin AAalayka waAAala omamin mimman maAAaka waomamun sanumattiAAuhum thumma yamassuhum minna AAathabun aleemun
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
বলা হল, ‘হে নূহ, তোমার ও তোমার সাথে যে উম্মত রয়েছে তাদের উপর আমার পক্ষ থেকে শান্তি ও বরকতসহ অবতরণ কর। আর আরো অনেক উম্মতকে আমি জীবন উপভোগ করতে দেব, তারপর আমার পক্ষ থেকে তাদেরকে স্পর্শ করবে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব’।
Shakir
It was said: O Nuh! descend with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the people from among those who are with you, and there shall be nations whom We will afford provisions, then a painful punishment from Us shall afflict them.
Transliteration
Tilka min anbai alghaybi nooheeha ilayka ma kunta taAAlamuha anta wala qawmuka min qabli hatha faisbir inna alAAaqibata lilmuttaqeena

এগুলো গায়েবের সংবাদ, আমি তোমাকে ওহীর মাধ্যমে তা জানাচ্ছি। ইতঃপূর্বে তা না তুমি জানতে এবং না তোমার কওম। সুতরাং তুমি সবর কর। নিশ্চয় শুভ পরিণাম কেবল মুত্তাকীদের জন্য।

These are announcements relating to the unseen which We reveal to you, you did not know them - - (neither) you nor your people - - before this; therefore be patient; surely the end is for those who guard (against evil).
Transliteration
Waila AAadin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu in antum illa muftaroona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর আদ জাতির কাছে (প্রেরণ করেছিলাম) তাদের ভাই হূদকে। সে বলেছিল, ‘হে আমার কওম, তোমরা আল্লাহর ইবাদাত কর। তিনি ছাড়া তোমাদের জন্য কোন (সত্য) নেই। তোমরা তো কেবল মিথ্যা রটনাকারী’।
Shakir
And to Ad (We sent) their brother Hud. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He; you are nothing but forgers (of lies).
Transliteration
Ya qawmi la asalukum AAalayhi ajran in ajriya illa AAala allathee fataranee afala taAAqiloona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
‘হে আমার কওম, আমি তোমাদের কাছে এর বিনিময়ে কোন প্রতিদান চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান তো কেবল তাঁরই কাছে যিনি আমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। এরপরও কি তোমরা বুঝবে না’?
Shakir
O my people! I do not ask of you any reward for it; my reward is only with Him Who created me; do you not then understand?
‘হে আমার কওম, তোমরা তোমাদের রবের কাছে ক্ষমা চাও অতঃপর তার কাছে তাওবা কর, তাহলে তিনি তোমাদের উপর মুষলধারে বৃষ্টি পাঠাবেন এবং তোমাদের শক্তির সাথে আরো শক্তি বৃদ্ধি করবেন। আর তোমরা অপরাধী হয়ে বিমুখ হয়ো না’।
Shakir
And, O my people! ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn to Him; He will send on you clouds pouring down abundance of rain and add strength to your strength, and do not turn back guilty.
Transliteration
Qaloo ya hoodu ma jitana bibayyinatin wama nahnu bitarikee alihatina AAan qawlika wama nahnu laka bimumineena
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তারা বলল, ‘হে হূদ, তুমি আমাদের কাছে কোন স্পষ্ট প্রমাণ নিয়ে আসনি, আর তোমার কথায় আমরা আমাদের উপাস্যদের ত্যাগ করব না এবং আমরা তোমার প্রতি বিশ্বাসীও নই’।
Shakir
They said: O Hud! you have not brought to us any clear argument and we are not going to desert our gods for your word, and we are not believers in you:
Transliteration
In naqoolu illa iAAtaraka baAAdu alihatina bisooin qala innee oshhidu Allaha waishhadoo annee bareeon mimma tushrikoona

‘আমরা তো কেবল বলছি যে, ‘আমাদের কোন কোন উপাস্য তোমাকে অমঙ্গল দ্বারা আক্রান্ত করেছে’। সে বলল, ‘নিশ্চয় আমি আল্লাহকে সাক্ষী রাখছি আর তোমরা সাক্ষী থাক যে, আমি অবশ্যই তা থেকে মুক্ত যাকে তোমরা শরীক কর,
Shakir
We cannot say aught but that some of our gods have smitten you with evil. He said: Surely I call Allah to witness, and do you bear witness too, that I am clear of what you associate (with Allah).
Transliteration
Min doonihi fakeedoonee jameeAAan thumma la tunthirooni
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
ছাড়া। সুতরাং তোমরা সকলে আমার বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র কর তারপর আমাকে অবকাশ দিও না’।
Shakir
Besides Him, therefore scheme against me all together; then give me no respite:
Transliteration
Innee tawakkaltu AAala Allahi rabbee warabbikum ma min dabbatin illa huwa akhithun binasiyatiha inna rabbee AAalasiratin mustaqeemin

‘আমি অবশ্যই তাওয়াক্কুল করেছি আমার রব ও তোমাদের রব আল্লাহর উপর, প্রতিটি বিচরণশীল প্রাণীরই তিনি নিয়ন্ত্রণকারী। নিশ্চয় আমার রব সরল পথে আছেন’।
Shakir
Surely I rely on Allah, my Lord and your Lord; there is no living creature but He holds it by its forelock; surely my Lord is on the right path.
‘অতঃপর তোমরা যদি বিমুখ হও, তবে যা নিয়ে আমি তোমাদের কাছে প্রেরিত হয়েছি তা তো তোমাদের কাছে পৌঁছে দিয়েছি। আর আমার রব তোমাদেরকে ছাড়া অন্য এক জাতিকে স্থলাভিষিক্ত করবেন। আর তোমরা তাঁর কোন ক্ষতি করতে পারবে না। নিশ্চয় আমার রব সব কিছুর হেফাযতকারী’।
Shakir
But if you turn back, then indeed I have delivered to you the message with which I have been sent to you, and my Lord will bring another people in your place, and you cannot do Him any harm; surely my Lord is the Preserver of all things.
Transliteration
Walamma jaa amruna najjayna hoodan waallatheena amanoo maAAahu birahmatin minna wanajjaynahum min AAathabin ghaleethin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর যখন আমার আদেশ আসল, আমি হূদকে ও যারা তার সাথে ঈমান এনেছিল তাদেরকে আমার পক্ষ থেকে রহমত দ্বারা রক্ষা করলাম এবং আমি কঠোর আযাব থেকে তাদেরকে নাজাত দিলাম।
Shakir
And when Our decree came to pass, We delivered Hud and those who believed with him with mercy from Us, and We delivered them from a hard chastisement.
এই আদ জাতি, তারা তাদের রবের আয়াতসমূহ অস্বীকার করেছিল এবং অমান্য করেছিল তাঁর রাসূলদের, আর তারা অনুসরণ করেছিল প্রত্যেক উদ্ধত, হঠকারীর নির্দেশ।

And this was Ad; they denied the communications of their Lord, and disobeyed His apostles and followed the bidding of every insolent opposer (of truth).
Transliteration
WaotbiAAoo fee hathihi alddunya laAAnatan wayawma alqiyamati ala inna AAadan kafaroo rabbahum ala buAAdan liAAadin qawmi hoodin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর এই দুনিয়াতে লা‘নত তাদের পেছনে লাগিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছে এবং কিয়ামত দিবসেও। জেনে রাখ, নিশ্চয় আদ জাতি তাদের রবের সাথে করেছে। জেনে রাখ, হূদের কওম আদ জাতির জন্য রয়েছে ধ্বংস।
Shakir
And they were overtaken by curse in this world and on the resurrection day; now surely Ad disbelieved in their Lord; now surely, away with Ad, the people of Hud.
Transliteration
Waila thamooda akhahum salihan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu huwa anshaakum mina alardi waistaAAmarakum feeha faistaghfiroohu thumma tooboo ilayhi inna rabbee qareebun mujeebun

আর সামূদ জাতির প্রতি (পাঠিয়েছিলাম)তাদের ভাই সালিহকে। সে বলল,‘হে আমার কওম, তোমরা আল্লাহর ইবাদাত কর, তিনি ছাড়া তোমাদের কোন (সত্য) নেই, তিনি তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন মাটি থেকে এবং সেখানে তোমাদের জন্য আবাদের* ব্যবস্থা করেছেন । সুতরাং তোমরা তাঁর কাছে ক্ষমা
Shakir
And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He; He brought you into being from the earth, and made you dwell in it, therefore ask forgiveness of Him, then turn to Him; surely my Lord is Nigh, Answering.
Transliteration
Qaloo yasalihu qad kunta feena marjuwwan qabla hatha atanhana an naAAbuda ma yaAAbudu abaona wainnana lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoona ilayhi mureebun
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তারা বলল, ‘হে সালিহ, তুমি তো ইতঃপূর্বে আমাদের মধ্যে ছিলে প্রত্যাশিত। তুমি কি আমাদেরকে নিষেধ করছ তাদের ইবাদাত করতে আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষরা যাদের ইবাদাত করত? তুমি আমাদেরকে যার দিকে আহবান করছ, সে ব্যাপারে নিশ্চয় আমরা ঘোর সন্দেহের মধ্যে আছি’।
Shakir
They said: O Salih! surely you were one amongst us in whom great expectations were placed before this; do you (now) forbid us from worshipping what our fathers worshipped? And as to that which you call us to, most surely we are in disquieting doubt.
Transliteration
Qala ya qawmi araaytum in kuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee waatanee minhu rahmatan faman yansurunee mina Allahi in AAasaytuhu fama tazeedoonanee ghayra takhseerin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সে বলল, ‘হে আমার কওম, তোমরা কী মনে কর, যদি আমি আমার রবের পক্ষ থেকে স্পষ্ট প্রমাণের উপর থাকি এবং তিনি আমাকে তাঁর পক্ষ থেকে রহমত দান করেন, তাহলে কে আমাকে আল্লাহর (আযাব) থেকে সাহায্য করবে, যদি আমি তাঁর অবাধ্য হই? সুতরাং তোমরা তো কেবল আমার ক্ষতিই বৃদ্ধি করছ’।
Shakir
He said: O my people! tell me if I have clear proof from my Lord and He has granted to me mercy from Himself - - who will then help me against Allah if I disobey Him? Therefore you do not add to me other than loss:
‘আর হে আমার কওম, এটি আল্লাহর উট, তোমাদের জন্য নিদর্শনস্বরূপ। তাই তোমরা একে ছেড়ে দাও, সে আল্লাহর যমীনে (বিচরণ করে) খাবে এবং কোনরূপ মন্দভাবে তাকে স্পর্শ করো না, তাহলে তোমাদেরকে আশু আযাব পাকড়াও করবে’।
Shakir
And, O my people! this will be (as) Allah's she - camel for you, a sign; therefore leave her to pasture on Allah's earth and do not touch her with evil, for then a near chastisement will overtake you.
অতঃপর তারা তাকে হত্যা করল। তাই সে বলল, ‘তোমরা তিন দিন নিজ নিজ গৃহে আনন্দে কাটাও। এ এমন এক ওয়াদা, যা মিথ্যা হবার নয়’।
Shakir
But they slew her, so he said: Enjoy yourselves in your abode for three days, that is a promise not to be belied.
Transliteration
Falamma jaa amruna najjaynasalihan waallatheena amanoo maAAahu birahmatin minna wamin khizyi yawmiithin inna rabbaka huwa alqawiyyu alAAazeezu
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
অতঃপর যখন আমার আদেশ এল, তখন সালিহ ও তার সাথে যারা ঈমান এনেছিল তাদেরকে আমার পক্ষ থেকে রহমত দ্বারা নাজাত দিলাম এবং (নাজাত দিলাম) সেই দিনের লাঞ্ছনা থেকে। নিশ্চয় তোমার রব, তিনি শক্তিশালী, পরাক্রমশালী।
Shakir
So when Our decree came to pass, We delivered Salih and those who believed with him by mercy from Us, and (We saved them) from the disgrace of that day; surely your Lord is the Strong, the Mighty.
আর যারা যুলম করেছিল, বিকট আওয়াজ তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করল, ফলে তারা নিজদের গৃহে মুখ থুবড়ে পড়ে থাকল।
Shakir
And the rumbling overtook those who were unjust, so they became motionless bodies in their abodes,
Transliteration
Kaan lam yaghnaw feeha ala inna thamooda kafaroo rabbahum ala buAAdan lithamooda
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
যেন তারা সেগুলোতে বসবাসই করেনি। জেনে রাখ, নিশ্চয় সামূদ জাতি তাদের রবের সাথে করেছে। জেনে রাখ, সামূদ জাতির জন্য রয়েছে ধ্বংস।

As though they had never dwelt in them; now surely did Samood disbelieve in their Lord; now surely, away with Samood.
Transliteration
Walaqad jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo salaman qala salamun fama labitha an jaa biAAijlin haneethin

আর অবশ্যই আমার ফেরেশতারা সুসংবাদ নিয়ে ইবরাহীমের কাছে আসল, তারা বলল, ‘সালাম’। সেও বলল, ‘সালাম’। বিলম্ব না করে সে একটি ভুনা গো নিয়ে আসল।

And certainly Our apostles came to Ibrahim with good news. They said: Peace. Peace, said he, and he made no delay in bringing a roasted calf.
Transliteration
Falamma raa aydiyahum la tasilu ilayhi nakirahum waawjasa minhum kheefatan qaloo la takhaf inna orsilna ila qawmi lootin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
অতঃপর যখন সে দেখতে পেল, তাদের হাত এর প্রতি পৌঁছছে না, তখন তাদেরকে অস্বাভাবিক মনে করল এবং সে তাদের থেকে ভীতি অনুভব করল। তারা বলল, ‘ভয় করো না, নিশ্চয় আমরা লূতের কওমের কাছে প্রেরিত হয়েছি’।
Shakir
But when he saw that their hands were not extended towards it, he deemed them strange and conceived fear of them. They said: Fear not, surely we are sent to Lut's people.
সে বলল, ‘হায়, কী আশ্চর্য! আমি সন্তান প্রসব করব, অথচ আমি বৃদ্ধা, আর এ আমার স্বামী, বৃদ্ধ? এটা তো অবশ্যই এক আশ্চর্যজনক ব্যাপার’!
Shakir
She said: O wonder! shall I bear a son when I am an extremely old woman and this my husband an extremely old man? Most surely this is a wonderful thing.
আর যখন লূতের কাছে আমার ফেরেশতা আসল, তখন তাদের (আগমনের) কারণে তার অস্বস্তিবোধ হল এবং তার অন্তর খুব সঙ্কুচিত হয়ে গেল। আর সে বলল, ‘এ তো কঠিন দিন’।
Shakir
And when Our apostles came to Lut, he was grieved for them, and he lacked strength to protect them, and said: This is a hard day.
Transliteration
Wajaahu qawmuhu yuhraAAoona ilayhi wamin qablu kanoo yaAAmaloona alssayyiati qala ya qawmi haolai banatee hunna atharu lakum faittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni fee dayfee alaysa minkum rajulun rasheedun

আর তার কওম তার কাছে ছুটে আসল এবং ইতঃপূর্বে তারা মন্দ কাজ করত। সে বলল, ‘হে আমার কওম, এরা আমার মেয়ে, তারা তোমাদের জন্য পবিত্র। সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার মেহমানদের ব্যাপারে তোমরা আমাকে অপমানিত করো না। তোমাদের মধ্যে কি কোন সুবোধ ব্যক্তি নেই’?
Shakir
And his people came to him, (as if) rushed on towards him, and already they did evil deeds. He said: O my people! these are my daughters - - they are purer for you, so guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not disgrace me with regard to my guests; is there not among you one right - minded man?
Transliteration
Qaloo laqad AAalimta ma lana fee banatika min haqqin wainnaka lataAAlamu ma nureedu
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তারা বলল, ‘তুমি অবশ্যই জান, তোমার মেয়েদের ব্যাপারে আমাদের কোন প্রয়োজন নেই। আর আমরা কী চাই, তা তুমি নিশ্চয় জান’।

They said: Certainly you know that we have no claim on your daughters, and most surely you know what we desire.
Transliteration
Qala law anna lee bikum quwwatan aw awee ila ruknin shadeedin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সে বলল, ‘তোমাদের প্রতিরোধে যদি আমার কোন শক্তি থাকত অথবা আমি কোন সুদৃঢ় স্তম্ভের আশ্রয় নিতে পারতাম’*! *‘সুদৃঢ় স্তম্ভ’ বলতে শক্তিশালী সৈন্যসামন্ত কিংবা কওম অথবা গোত্র বুঝানো হয়েছে।
Shakir
He said: Ah! that I had power to suppress you, rather I shall have recourse to a strong support.
Transliteration
Qaloo ya lootu inna rusulu rabbika lan yasiloo ilayka faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli wala yaltafit minkum ahadun illa imraataka innahu museebuha ma asabahum inna mawAAidahumu alssubhu alaysa alssubhu biqareebin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তারা বলল, ‘হে লূত, আমরা তোমার রবের প্রেরিত ফেরেশতা, তারা কখনো তোমার কাছে পৌঁছতে পারবে না। সুতরাং তুমি তোমার পরিবার নিয়ে রাতের কোন এক অংশে রওয়ানা হও, আর তোমাদের কেউ পিছে তাকাবে না। তবে তোমার স্ত্রী (রওয়ানা হবে না), কেননা তাকে তা-ই আক্রান্ত করবে যা তাদেরকে

They said: O Lut! we are the apostles of your Lord; they shall by no means reach you; so remove your followers in a part of the night - - and let none of you turn back - - except your wife, for surely whatsoever befalls them shall befall her; surely their appointed time is the morning; is not the morning nigh?
অতঃপর যখন আমার আদেশ এসে গেল, তখন আমি জনপদের উপরকে নীচে উল্টে দিলাম এবং ক্রমাগত পোড়ামাটির পাথর বর্ষণ করলাম,
Shakir
So when Our decree came to pass, We turned them upside down and rained down upon them stones, of what had been decreed, one after another.
Transliteration
Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika wama hiya mina alththalimeena bibaAAeedin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
যা চিহ্নত ছিল তোমার রবের কাছে। আর তা যালিমদের থেকে দূরে নয়।
Shakir
Marked (for punishment) with your Lord and it is not far off from the unjust.
Transliteration
Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu wala tanqusoo almikyala waalmeezana innee arakum bikhayrin wainnee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin muheetin
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর মাদইয়ানে আমি (পাঠিয়েছিলাম) তাদের ভাই শু‘আইবকে। সে বলল, ‘হে আমার কওম, তোমরা আল্লাহর ইবাদাত কর, তিনি ছাড়া তোমাদের কোন (সত্য) নেই এবং মাপ ও ওযন কম করো না; আমি তো তোমাদের প্রাচুর্যশীল দেখছি, কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের উপর এক সর্বগ্রাসী দিনের আযাবের ভয় করছি’।
Shakir
And to Madyan (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He, and do not give short measure and weight: surely I see you in prosperity and surely I fear for you the punishment of an all - encompassing day.
‘আর হে আমার কওম, মাপ ও ওযন পূর্ণ কর ইনসাফের সাথে এবং মানুষকে তাদের পণ্য কম দিও না; আর যমীনে ফাসাদ সৃষ্টি করে বেড়িও না,
Shakir
And, O my people! give full measure and weight fairly, and defraud not men their things, and do not act corruptly in the land, making mischief:
Transliteration
Baqiyyatu Allahi khayrun lakum in kuntum mumineena wama ana AAalaykum bihafeethin

‘আল্লাহর দেয়া উদ্বৃত্ত লাভ তোমাদের জন্য কল্যাণকর, যদি তোমরা হও। আর আমি তো তোমাদের হিফাযতকারী নই’।

What remains with Allah is better for you if you are believers, and I am not a keeper over you.
Transliteration
Qaloo ya shuAAaybu asalatuka tamuruka an natruka ma yaAAbudu abaona aw an nafAAala fee amwalina ma nashao innaka laanta alhaleemu alrrasheedu

তারা বলল, ‘হে শু‘আইব, তোমার কি তোমাকে এই নির্দেশ প্রদান করে যে, আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষগণ যাদের ইবাদাত করত, আমরা তাদের ত্যাগ করি? অথবা আমাদের সম্পদে আমরা ইচ্ছামত যা করি তাও (ত্যাগ করি?) তুমি তো বেশ সহনশীল সুবোধ’!
Shakir
They said: O Shu'aib! does your prayer enjoin you that we should forsake what our fathers worshipped or that we should not do what we please with regard to our property? Forsooth you are the forbearing, the right - directing one.
Transliteration
Qala ya qawmi araaytum in kuntu AAala bayyinatin min rabbee warazaqanee minhu rizqan hasanan wama oreedu an okhalifakum ila ma anhakum AAanhu in oreedu illa alislaha ma istataAAtu wama tawfeeqee illa biAllahi AAalayhi tawakkaltu wailayhi oneebu

সে বলল, ‘হে আমার কওম, তোমরা কী মনে কর, আমি যদি আমার রবের পক্ষ থেকে স্পষ্ট প্রমাণের উপর থাকি এবং তিনি আমাকে তাঁর পক্ষ থেকে উত্তম রিয্ক দান করে থাকেন (তাহলে কী করে আমি আমার দায়িত্ব পরিত্যাগ করব)! যে কাজ থেকে আমি তোমাদেরকে নিষেধ করছি, তোমাদের বিরোধিতা করে সে
Shakir
He said: O my people! have you considered if I have a clear proof from my Lord and He has given me a goodly sustenance from Himself, and I do not desire that in opposition to you I should betake myself to that which I forbid you: I desire nothing but reform so far as I am able, and with none but Allah is the direction of my affair to a right issue; on Him do I rely and to Him do I turn:
Transliteration
Waya qawmi la yajrimannakum shiqaqee an yuseebakum mithlu ma asaba qawma noohin aw qawma hoodin aw qawma salihin wama qawmu lootin minkum bibaAAeedin

‘আর হে আমার কওম, আমার সাথে বৈরিতা তোমাদেরকে যেন এমন কাজে প্ররোচিত না করে যার ফলে তোমাদের সেরূপ আযাব আসবে যেরূপ এসেছিল নূহের কওমের উপর অথবা হূদের কওমের উপর অথবা সালিহের কওমের উপর। আর লূতের কওম তো তোমাদের থেকে দূরে নয়’।
Shakir
And, O my people! let not opposition to me make you guilty so that there may befall you the like of what befell the people of Nuh, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih, nor are the people of Lut far off from you;
‘আর তোমরা তোমাদের রবের কাছে ইস্তিগফার কর অতঃপর তাঁরই কাছে তাওবা কর। নিশ্চয় আমার রব পরম দয়ালু, অতীব ভালবাসা পোষণকারী’।
Shakir
And ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn to Him; surely my Lord is Merciful, Loving - kind.
Transliteration
Qaloo ya shuAAaybu ma nafqahu katheeran mimma taqoolu wainna lanaraka feenadaAAeefan walawla rahtuka larajamnaka wama anta AAalayna biAAazeezin

তারা বলল, ‘হে শু‘আইব, তুমি যা বল, তার অনেক কিছুই আমরা বুঝি না। আর তোমাকে তো আমরা আমাদের মধ্যে দুর্বলই দেখতে পাচ্ছি। যদি তোমার আত্মীয়-স্বজন না থাকত, তবে আমরা তোমাকে অবশ্যই পাথর মেরে হত্যা করতাম। আর আমাদের উপর তুমি শক্তিশালী নও’।
Shakir
They said: O Shu'aib! we do not understand much of what you say and most surely we see you to be weak among us, and were it not for your family we would surely stone you, and you are not mighty against us.
Transliteration
Qala ya qawmi arahtee aAAazzu AAalaykum mina Allahi waittakhathtumoohu waraakum thihriyyan inna rabbee bima taAAmaloona muheetun

সে বলল, ‘হে আমার কওম! আমার স্বজনরা কি তোমাদের কাছে অপেক্ষা অধিক সম্মানিত? আর তোমরা তাঁকে একেবারে পেছনে ঠেলে দিলে? তোমরা যা কর, নিশ্চয় আমার রব তা পরিবেষ্টন করে আছেন’।
Shakir
He said: O my people! is my family more esteemed by you than Allah? And you neglect Him as a thing cast behind your back; surely my Lord encompasses what you do:

Waya qawmi iAAmaloo AAala makanatikum innee AAamilun sawfa taAAlamoona man yateehi AAathabun yukhzeehi waman huwa kathibun wairtaqiboo inne maAAakum raqeebun

‘আর হে আমার কওম, তোমরা তোমাদের অবস্থানে কাজ করে যাও, আমিও কাজ করছি। অচিরেই তোমরা জানতে পারবে কার কাছে আসবে সে আযাব যা তাকে লাঞ্ছিত করবে এবং কে মিথ্যাবাদী। আর তোমরা অপেক্ষা কর, আমিও তোমাদের সাথে অপেক্ষমান।
Shakir
And, O my people! act according to your ability, I too am acting; you will come to know soon who it is on whom will light the punishment that will disgrace him and who it is that is a liar, and watch, surely I too am watching with you.
আর যখন আমার আদেশ আসল, তখন শু‘আইব ও তার সাথে যারা ঈমান এনেছে, তাদেরকে আমার পক্ষ থেকে রহমত দ্বারা নাজাত দিলাম এবং যারা যুলম করেছিল তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করল বিকট আওয়াজ। ফলে তারা নিজ নিজ গৃহে মুখ থুবড়ে পড়ে থাকল।

And when Our decree came to pass We delivered Shu'aib, and those who believed with him by mercy from Us, and the rumbling overtook those who were unjust so they became motionless bodies in their abodes,
Transliteration
Kaan lam yaghnaw feeha ala buAAdan limadyana kama baAAidat thamoodu

যেন তারা সেখানে বসবাসই করেনি। জেনে রাখ, ধ্বংস মাদইয়ানের জন্য, যেরূপ ধ্বংস হয়েছে সামূদ জাতি।

As though they had never dwelt in them; now surely perdition overtook Madyan as had perished Samood.
আর আমি মূসাকে আমার আয়াতসমূহ* ও স্পষ্ট প্রমাণ দিয়ে পাঠিয়েছি, * এখানে ‘আয়াত’ বলতে তাওরাতকে বুঝানো হয়েছে এবং স্পষ্ট প্রমাণ দ্বারা আল্লাহর দেয়া বিশেষ নিদর্শনসমূহ বুঝানো হয়েছে।
Shakir
And certainly We sent Musa with Our communications and a clear authority,
Transliteration
Ila firAAawna wamalaihi faittabaAAoo amra firAAawna wama amru firAAawna birasheedin

ফির‘আউন ও তার নেতৃবৃন্দের কাছে। অতঃপর তারা ফির‘আউনের নির্দেশের অনুসরণ করল। আর ফির‘আউনের নির্দেশ সঠিক ছিল না।

To Firon and his chiefs, but they followed the bidding of Firon, and Firon's bidding was not right - directing.
কিয়ামত দিবসে সে তার কওমের অগ্রভাগে থাকবে এবং তাদেরকে আগুনে উপনীত করে দেবে। যেখানে তারা উপনীত হবে সেটা উপনীত হওয়ার কতইনা নিকৃষ্ট স্থান!
Shakir
He shall lead his people on the resurrection day, and bring them down to the fire; and evil the place to which they are brought.
Transliteration
WaotbiAAoo fee hathihi laAAnatan wayawma alqiyamati bisa alrrifdu almarfoodu

আর এখানে (দুনিয়ায়) লা‘নত তাদের পেছনে লাগিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছে এবং কিয়ামত দিবসেও। কি নিকৃষ্ট প্রতিদান, যা তাদের দেয়া হবে।

And they are overtaken by curse in this (world), and on the resurrection day, evil the gift which shall be given.
Transliteration
Thalika min anbai alqura naqussuhu AAalayka minha qaimun wahaseedun

এ হচ্ছে জনপদসমূহের কিছু সংবাদ, যা আমি তোমার কাছে বর্ণনা করছি। তা থেকে কিছু আছে বিদ্যমান এবং কিছু হয়েছে বিলুপ্ত।

This is an account of (the fate of) the towns which We relate to you; of them are some that stand and (others) mown down.
Transliteration
Wamathalamnahum walakin thalamoo anfusahum fama aghnat AAanhum alihatuhumu allatee yadAAoona min dooni Allahi min shayin lamma jaa amru rabbika wama zadoohum ghayra tatbeebin

আর আমি তাদের উপর যুলম করিনি, বরং তারা নিজদের উপর যুলম করেছে। তারপর যখন তোমার রবের নির্দেশ আসল তখন ছাড়া যে সব উপাস্যকে তারা ডাকত, তারা তাদের কোন উপকার করেনি এবং তারা ধ্বংস ছাড়া তাদের আর কিছুই বৃদ্ধি করেনি।
Shakir
And We did not do them injustice, but they were unjust to themselves, so their gods whom they called upon besides Allah did not avail them aught when the decree of your Lord came to pass; and they added but to their ruin.
নিশ্চয় এতে রয়েছে নিদর্শন তার জন্য যে আখিরাতের আযাবকে ভয় করে। সেটি এমন একটি দিন, যেদিন সকল মানুষকে সমবেত করা হবে এবং সেটি এমন এক দিন, যেদিন সবাই হাযির হবে।
Shakir
Most surely there is a sign in this for him who fears the chastisement of the hereafter; this is a day on which the people shall be gathered together and this is a day that shall be witnessed.
Transliteration
Wama nuakhkhiruhu illa liajalin maAAdoodin

আর নির্দিষ্ট কিছুকালের জন্যই আমি তা বিলম্বিত করছি।
Shakir
And We do not delay it but to an appointed term.
Transliteration
Yawma yati la takallamu nafsun illa biithnihi faminhum shaqiyyun wasaAAeedin

যেদিন তা আসবে সেদিন তাঁর অনুমতি ছাড়া কেউ কথা বলবে না। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্য থেকে কেউ দুর্ভাগা, আর কেউ সৌভাগ্যবান।

On the day when it shall come, no soul shall speak except with His permission, then (some) of them shall be unhappy and (others) happy.
অতঃপর যারা হয়েছে দুর্ভাগা, তারা থাকবে আগুনে। সেখানে থাকবে তাদের চীৎকার ও আর্তনাদ।
Shakir
So as to those who are unhappy, they shall be in the fire; for them shall be sighing and groaning in it:
Transliteration
Khalideena feeha ma damati alssamawatu waalardu illa ma shaa rabbuka inna rabbaka faAAAAalun lima yureedu

সেখানে তারা স্থায়ী হবে, যতদিন পর্যন্ত আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন থাকবে*, অবশ্য তোমার রব যা চান**। নিশ্চয় তোমার রব তা-ই করে যা তিনি ইচ্ছা করেন। *‘যতদিন পর্যন্ত আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন থাকবে’- এ কথা দ্বারা আরবী ভাষায় চিরস্থায়ীত্বের উদাহরণ দেয়া হয়ে থাকে।
Shakir
Abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; surely your Lord is the mighty doer of what He intends.
Transliteration
Waamma allatheena suAAidoo fafee aljannati khalideena feeha ma damati alssamawatu waalardu illa ma shaa rabbuka AAataan ghayra majthoothin

আর যারা ভাগ্যবান হয়েছে, তারা জান্নাতে থাকবে, সেখানে তারা স্থায়ী হবে যতদিন পর্যন্ত আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন থাকবে, অবশ্য তোমার রব যা চান*, অব্যাহত প্রতিদানস্বরূপ। * অর্থাৎ ইচ্ছা করলে তাদেরকে জান্নাত থেকে বের করে দিতে পারেন। তবে তিনি তা করবেন না। কেননা তিনি

And as to those who are made happy, they shall be in the garden, abiding in it as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; a gift which shall never be cut off.
Transliteration
Fala taku fee miryatin mimma yaAAbudu haolai ma yaAAbudoona illa kama yaAAbudu abaohum min qablu wainna lamuwaffoohum naseebahum ghayra manqoosin

সুতরাং এরা যাদের উপাসনা করে, তুমি তাদের ব্যাপারে সংশয়ে থেকো না। তারা তো ইবাদাত করে, যেমন ইতঃপূর্বে ইবাদাত করত তাদের পিতৃপুরুষগণ। নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের অংশ হ্রাস না করে তাদেরকে পুরোপুরি দেব।
Shakir
Therefore be not in doubt as to what these worship; they do not worship but as their fathers worshipped before; and most surely We will pay them back in full their portion undiminished.
আর অবশ্যই আমি মূসাকে কিতাব দিয়েছিলাম, অতঃপর তাতে মতবিরোধ করা হয়েছিল। যদি তোমার রবের পক্ষ থেকে পূর্ব সিদ্ধান্ত না থাকত*, তবে তাদের মধ্যে মীমাংসা হয়ে যেত। আর নিশ্চয় তারা এ ব্যাপারে ঘোর সন্দেহে রয়েছে। * অর্থাৎ অপরাধীকে শাস্তির ক্ষেত্রে তাড়াহুড়া করবেন
Shakir
And certainly We gave the book to Musa, but it was gone against; and had not a word gone forth from your Lord, the matter would surely have been decided between them; and surely they are in a disquieting doubt about it.
আর নিশ্চয় তোমার রব সবাইকে তাদের আমলের প্রতিদান পুরোপুরি দান করবেন। তারা যা আমল করে, অবশ্যই তিনি সে ব্যাপারে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Shakir
And your Lord will most surely pay back to all their deeds in full; surely He is aware of what they do.
Transliteration
Faistaqim kama omirta waman taba maAAaka wala tatghaw innahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun

সুতরাং যেভাবে তুমি নির্দেশিত হয়েছ সেভাবে তুমি ও তোমার সাথী যারা তাওবা করেছে, সকলে অবিচল থাক। আর সীমালঙ্ঘন করো না। তোমরা যা করছ নিশ্চয় তিনি তার সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।
Shakir
Continue then in the right way as you are commanded, as also he who has turned (to Allah) with you, and be not inordinate (O men!), surely He sees what you do.
Transliteration
Wala tarkanoo ila allatheena thalamoo fatamassakumu alnnaru wama lakum min dooni Allahi min awliyaa thumma la tunsaroona

আর যারা যুলম করেছে তোমরা তাদের প্রতি ঝুঁকে পড়ো না; অন্যথায় আগুন তোমাদেরকে স্পর্শ করবে এবং ছাড়া তোমাদের কোন অভিভাবক থাকবে না। অতঃপর তোমরা সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত হবে না।

And do not incline to those who are unjust, lest the fire touch you, and you have no guardians besides Allah, then you shall not be helped.
আর তুমি কায়েম কর দিবসের দু’প্রান্তে এবং রাতের প্রথম অংশে*। নিশ্চয়ই ভালকাজ মন্দকাজকে মিটিয়ে দেয়। এটি উপদেশ গ্রহণকারীদের জন্য উপদেশ। * দিনের প্রথম প্রান্তে ফজরের , দ্বিতীয় প্রান্তে যোহর ও আসরের আর রাতের প্রথম অংশে মাগরিব ও ইশার । [তাফ
Shakir
And keep up prayer in the two parts of the day and in the first hours of the night; surely good deeds take away evil deeds this is a reminder to the mindful.
Transliteration
Waisbir fainna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena

তুমি সবর কর, নিশ্চয়ই তাআলা ইহসানকারীদের প্রতিদান নষ্ট করেন না।
Shakir
And be patient, for surely Allah does not waste the reward of the good - doers.
Transliteration
Falawla kana mina alqurooni min qablikum oloo baqiyyatin yanhawna AAani alfasadi fee alardi illa qaleelan mimman anjayna minhum waittabaAAa allatheena thalamoo ma otrifoo feehi wakanoo mujrimeena

অতএব তোমাদের পূর্বের প্রজন্মসমূহের মধ্যে এমন প্রজ্ঞাবান কেন হয়নি, যারা যমীনে ফাসাদ করা থেকে নিষেধ করত? অল্প সংখ্যক ছাড়া, যাদেরকে আমি তাদের মধ্য থেকে নাজাত দিয়েছিলাম। আর যারা যুলম করেছে, তারা বিলাসিতার পেছনে পড়ে ছিল এবং তারা ছিল অপরাধী।
Shakir
But why were there not among the generations before you those possessing understanding, who should have forbidden the making of mischief in the earth, except a few of those whom We delivered from among them? And those who were unjust went after what they are made to enjoy of plenty, and they were guilty.
Transliteration
Wama kana rabbuka liyuhlika alqura bithulmin waahluha muslihoona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর তোমার রব এমন নন যে, তিনি অন্যায়ভাবে জনপদসমূহ ধ্বংস করে দেবেন, অথচ তার অধিবাসীরা সংশোধনকারী।
Shakir
And it did not beseem your Lord to have destroyed the towns tyrannously, while their people acted well.
যদি তোমার রব চাইতেন, তবে সকল মানুষকে এক উম্মতে পরিণত করতেন, কিন্তু তারা পরস্পর মতবিরোধকারী রয়ে গেছে,
Shakir
And if your Lord had pleased He would certainly have made people a single nation, and they shall continue to differ.
Transliteration
Illa man rahima rabbuka walithalika khalaqahum watammat kalimatu rabbika laamlaanna jahannama mina aljinnati waalnnasi ajmaAAeena

তবে যাদেরকে তোমার রব দয়া করেছেন, তারা ছাড়া। আর এজন্যই তিনি তাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তোমার রবের কথা চূড়ান্ত হয়েছে যে, ‘নিশ্চয়ই আমি জাহান্নাম ভরে দেব জিন ও মানুষ দ্বারা একত্রে’।

Except those on whom your Lord has mercy; and for this did He create them; and the word of your Lord is fulfilled: Certainly I will fill hell with the jinn and the men, all together.
Transliteration
Wakullan naqussu AAalayka min anbai alrrusuli ma nuthabbitu bihi fuadaka wajaaka fee hathihi alhaqqu wamawAAithatun wathikra lilmumineena

আর রাসূলদের এসকল সংবাদ আমি তোমার কাছে বর্ণনা করছি যার দ্বারা আমি তোমার মনকে স্থির করি আর এতে তোমার কাছে এসেছে সত্য এবং মুমিনদের জন্য উপদেশ ও স্মরণ।

And all we relate to you of the accounts of the apostles is to strengthen your heart therewith; and in this has come to you the truth and an admonition, and a reminder to the believers.
Transliteration
Waqul lillatheena la yuminoona iAAmaloo AAala makanatikum inna AAamiloona
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর যারা ঈমান আনছে না তাদেরকে বল, ‘তোমরা স্ব স্ব অবস্থানে কাজ কর আমরাও কাজ করছি।
Shakir
And say to those who do not believe: Act according to your state; surely we too are acting.
আসমানসমূহ ও যমীনের আল্লাহরই এবং তাঁরই কাছে সব বিষয় প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবে। সুতরাং তুমি তাঁর ইবাদাত কর এবং তাঁর উপর তাওয়াক্কুল কর। আর তোমরা যা কিছু কর সে ব্যাপারে তোমার রব গাফেল নন।
Shakir
And Allah's is the unseen in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is returned the whole of the affair; therefore serve Him and rely on Him, and your Lord is not heedless of what you do.
