আর যারা ঈমান এনেছে ও সৎকর্ম করছে, আর বিশ্বাস করছে তাতে যা মুহাম্মদের কাছে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে - - আর সেটিই হচ্ছে তাদের প্রভুর কাছ থেকে আগত মহাসত্য - - তিনি তাদের মন্দ কার্যাবলী তাদের থেকে দূর করে দেবেন, আর ভাল করে দেবেন তাদের অবস্থা।

And those who believe and do good works and believe in that which is revealed unto Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He riddeth them of their ill - deeds and improveth their state.
এইটিই, কেননা নিঃসন্দেহ যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তারা মিথ্যার অনুসরণ করে, আর যেহেতু যারা ঈমান এনেছে তারা তাদের প্রভুর কাছ থেকে আসা সত্যের অনুগমন করে। এইভাবে লোকেদের জন্য তাদের দৃষ্টান্তগুলো স্থাপন করেন।

That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood and because those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus Allah coineth their similitudes for mankind.
সেজন্য যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তাদের সাথে যখন তোমরা মোকাবিলা কর তখন গর্দান মারা, পরিশেষে যখন তোমরা তাদের পরাজিত করবে তখন মজবুত করে বাঁধবে, তখন এরপরে হয় সদয়ভাবে মুক্তিদান, না হয় মুক্তিপণ গ্রহণ - - যতক্ষণ না যুদ্ধ তার অস্ত্রভার নামিয়ে দেয়, এমনটাই। আর যদি চাইতেন তাহলে তিনিই তাদের থেকে প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করতে পারতেন, কিন্ত এইজন্য যে তোমাদের কারোকে যেন অপরের দ্বারা তিনি সুনিয়ন্ত্রিত করতে পারেন। আর যাদের র পথে শহীদ করা হয় তাদের ক্রিয়াকর্মকে তিনি কখনো লক্ষ্যহারা হতে দেবেন না।

Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain.

Sayahdeehim wayuslihu balahum

তিনি তাদের পথপ্রদর্শন করবেন এবং তাদের অবস্থা ভালো করবেন।

He will guide them and improve their state,
Transliteration
Wayudkhiluhumu aljannata AAarrafaha lahum
জহুরুল হক
আর তাদের প্রবেশ করাবেন স্বর্গোদ্যানসমূহে, তিনি তাদের কাছে এটি পরিচয় করিয়ে দিয়েছেন।

And bring them in unto the Garden which He hath made known to them.
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tansuroo Allaha yansurkum wayuthabbit aqdamakum
জহুরুল হক
ওহে যারা ঈমান এনেছ! যদি তোমরা আল্লাহকে সাহায্য কর তবে তিনিও তোমাদের সাহায্য করবেন, আর তিনি তোমাদের পদক্ষেপ সুদৃঢ় করবেন।

O ye who believe! If ye help Allah, He will help you and will make your foothold firm.
আর যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তাদের জন্য দুর্ভোগ রয়েছে, আর তাদের ক্রিয়া - কলাপকে তিনি ব্যর্থ করে দেবেন।

And those who disbelieve, perdition is for them, and He will make their actions vain.
Transliteration
Thalika biannahum karihoo ma anzala Allahu faahbata aAAmalahum

এমনটাই, কেননা যা অবতারণ করেছেন তারা তা বিতৃষ্ণার সাথে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে, কাজেই তিনি তাদের ক্রিয়াকলাপ নিষ্ফল করে দিয়েছেন।

That is because they are averse to that which Allah hath revealed, therefor maketh He their actions fruitless.
Transliteration
Afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim dammara Allahu AAalayhim walilkafireena amthaluha
জহুরুল হক
তারা কি তবে পৃথিবীতে পরিভ্রমণ করে নি? তাহলে তারা দেখতে পেত কেমন হয়েছিল তাদের পরিণাম যারা এদের আগে ছিল। তাদের ঘায়েল করেছিলেন, আর অবিশ্বাসীদের জন্য রয়েছে এর অনুরূপ।

Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those who were before them ? Allah wiped them out. And for the disbelievers there will be the like thereof.
Transliteration
Thalika bianna Allaha mawla allatheena amanoo waanna alkafireena la mawla lahum

এমনটাই, কেননা যারা ঈমান এনেছে তাদের অভিভাবক নিশ্চয়ই , আর অবিশ্বাসীদের ক্ষেত্রে তো - - তাদের জন্য কোনো মুরব্বী নেই।

That is because Allah is patron of those who believe, and because the disbelievers have no patron.
Transliteration
Inna Allaha yudkhilu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu waallatheena kafaroo yatamattaAAoona wayakuloona kama takulu alanAAamu waalnnaru mathwan lahum
জহুরুল হক
নিঃসন্দেহ যারা ঈমান এনেছে ও সৎকাজে করছে তাদের প্রবেশ করাবেন স্বর্গোউদ্যানসমূহে যাদের নিচে দিয়ে বয়ে চলছে ঝরনারাজি। আর যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তারা ভোগ - বিলাস করে ও খায়দায় যেমন জন্তু জানোয়াররা খেয়ে থাকে, আর আগুনই তাদের আবাসস্থল।

Lo! Allah will cause those who believe and do good works to enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; while those who disbelieve take their comfort in this life and eat even as the cattle eat, and the Fire is their habitation.
Transliteration
Wakaayyin min qaryatin hiya ashaddu quwwatan min qaryatika allatee akhrajatka ahlaknahum fala nasira lahum
জহুরুল হক
আর জনপদগুলোর কতটা যে - - যা ছিল আরো বেশি শক্তিশালী তোমার জনবসতির চাইতে যেটি তোমাকে বহিস্কার করেছে - - আমরা তাদের ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছিলাম, আর তাদের জন্য কোনো সাহায্যকারী ছিল না।

And how many a township stronger than thy township (O Muhammad) which hath cast thee out, have We destroyed, and they had no helper!
Transliteration
Afaman kana AAala bayyinatin min rabbihi kaman zuyyina lahu sooo AAamalihi waittabaAAoo ahwaahum
জহুরুল হক
যে তার প্রভুর কাছ থেকে এক স্পষ্ট প্রমাণের উপরে রয়েছে সে কি তবে তার মতো যার কাছে তার মন্দ কার্যকলাপকে চিত্তাকর্ষক করা হয়েছে? ফলে তারা নিজেদের কামনা - বাসনারই অনুসরণ করে।

Is he who relieth on a clear proof from his Lord like those for whom the evil that they do is beautified while they follow their own lusts ?
Transliteration
Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona feeha anharun min main ghayri asinin waanharun min labanin lam yataghayyar taAAmuhu waanharun min khamrin laththatin lilshsharibeena waanharun min AAasalin musaffan walahum feeha min kulli alththamarati wamaghfiratun min rabbihim kaman huwa khalidun fee alnnari wasuqoo maan hameeman faqattaAAa amAAaahum

ধর্মভীরুদের জন্য যে জান্নাতের ওয়াদা করা হয়েছে তার উপমা হচ্ছে - - তাতে রয়েছে ঝরনারাজি এমন পানির যা পরিবর্তিত হয় না, আর দুধের নদীসমূহ যার স্বাদ বদলায় না, আর সুরার স্রোত যা পানকারীদের জন্য সুস্বাদু, আর ছাঁকা মধুর নদীগুলো। আর তাদের জন্য সে - সবে রয়েছে সব রকমের ফলফসল, আর তাদের প্রভুর কাছ থেকে রয়েছে পরিত্রাণ। তার মতো যে আগুনের মধ্যে অবস্থানকারী, অথবা যাদের পান করানো হবে ফুটন্ত পানি, ফলে তাদের নাড়িভুঁড়ি তা ছিড়ে ফেলবে?

A similitude of the Garden which those who keep their duty (to Allah) are promised: Therein are rivers of water unpolluted, and rivers of milk whereof the flavour changeth not, and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers, and rivers of clear - run honey; therein for them is every kind of fruit, with pardon from their Lord. (Are those who enjoy all this) like those who are immortal in the Fire and are given boiling water to drink so that it teareth their bowels ?

Waminhum man yastamiAAu ilayka hatta itha kharajoo min AAindika qaloo lillatheena ootoo alAAilma matha qala anifan olaika allatheena tabaAAa Allahu AAala quloobihim waittabaAAoo ahwaahum
জহুরুল হক
আর তাদের মধ্যে কিছু লোক আছে যারা তোমার কথা শোনে, তারপর তারা যখন তোমার কাছ থেকে বেরিয়ে যায় তখন যাদের জ্ঞান দেওয়া হয়েছে তাদের বলে, ''সে এইমাত্র কী বললে!’’ এরাই তারা যাদের হৃদয়ের উপরে মোহর মেরে দিয়েছেন, আর তারা নিজেদের খেয়ালখুশিরই অনুসরণ করে।

Among them are some who give ear unto thee (Muhammad) till, when they go forth from thy presence they say unto those who have been given knowledge: What was that he said just now ? Those are they whose hearts Allah hath sealed, and they follow their own lusts.
আর যারা সৎপথে চলে, তিনি তাদের জন্য পথ প্রদর্শন করা বাড়িয়ে দেন, আর তাদের প্রদান করেন তাদের ধর্মনিষ্ঠা।

While as for those who walk aright, He addeth to their guidance, and giveth them their protection (against evil).
Transliteration
Fahal yanthuroona illa alssaAAata an tatiyahum baghtatan faqad jaa ashratuha faanna lahum itha jaathum thikrahum
জহুরুল হক
তারা কি তবে তাকিয়ে রয়েছে শুধু ঘড়ির জন্য যাতে এটি তাদের উপরে এসে পড়ে অতর্কিতভাবে? তবে তো এর লক্ষণগুলো এসেই পড়েছে। সুতরাং কেমন হবে তাদের ব্যাপার যখন তাদের স্মরণ করিয়ে দেওয়া হবে?

Await they aught save the Hour, that it should come upon them unawares ? And the beginnings thereof have already come. But how, when it hath come upon them, can they take their warning ?
Transliteration
FaiAAlam annahu la ilaha illa Allahu waistaghfir lithanbika walilmumineena waalmuminati waAllahu yaAAlamu mutaqallabakum wamathwakum
জহুরুল হক
অতএব তুমি জেনে রাখ যে ব্যতীত অন্য উপাস্য নেই, আর তোমার ভুল - ভ্রান্তির জন্যে তুমি পরিত্রাণ খোঁজো, আর পুরুষ ও নারীদের জন্যেও। আর জানেন তোমাদের গতিবিধি এবং তোমাদের অবস্থান।

So know (O Muhammad) that there is no God save Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy sin and for believing men and believing women. Allah knoweth (both) your place of turmoil and your place of rest.
আর যারা ঈমান এনেছে তারা বলে - - ''একটি সূরা কেন অবতীর্ণ হয় না?’’ কিন্ত যখন একটি সিদ্ধান্তমূলক সূরা অবতীর্ণ হয় আর তাতে যুদ্ধের উল্লেখ থাকে তখন যাদের হৃদয়ে ব্যাধি রয়েছে তাদের তুমি দেখতে পাবে তোমার দিকে তাকাচ্ছে মৃত্যুর কারণে মুর্চ্ছিত লোকের দৃষ্টির ন্যায়। সুতরাং ধিক্ তাদের জন্য!

And those who believe say: If only a surah were revealed! But when a decisive surah is revealed and war is mentioned therein, thou seest those in whose hearts is a disease looking at thee with the look of men fainting unto death. Therefor woe unto them!
আনুগত্য ও সদয়বাক্য! অতএব যখন ব্যাপারটি সন্বন্ধে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়ে যায় তখন তারা যদি র প্রতি সত্যনিষ্ঠ থাকে তাহলে সেটিই তো তাদের জন্য মঙ্গলজনক।

Obedience and a civil word. Then, when the matter is determined, if they are loyal to Allah it will be well for them.
Transliteration
Fahal AAasaytum in tawallaytum an tufsidoo fee alardi watuqattiAAoo arhamakum
জহুরুল হক
কিন্ত যদি তোমাদের শাসনভার দেওয়া যায় তাহলে তোমাদের থেকে তো আশা করা যাবে যে তোমরা অবশ্যই দেশে ফসাদ সৃষ্টি করবে এবং তোমাদের রক্ত - সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করবে।

Would ye then, if ye were given the command, work corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship ?
আর আমরা যদি চাইতাম তবে আমরা নিশ্চয়ই তোমাকে তাদের দেখাতাম, তখন তুমি আলবৎ তাদের চিনতে পারতে তাদের চেহারার দ্বারা। আর তুমি তো অবশ্যই তাদের চিনতে পারবে তাদের কথার ধরনে। আর জানেন তোমাদের কাজকর্ম।

And if We would, We could show them unto thee (Muhammad) so that thou shouldst know them surely by their marks. And thou shalt know them by the burden of their talk. And Allah knoweth your deeds.
Transliteration
Walanabluwannakum hatta naAAlama almujahideena minkum waalssabireena wanabluwa akhbarakum
জহুরুল হক
আর আমরা নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের যাচাই করব যতক্ষণ না আমরা জানতে পারি তোমাদের মধ্যের কঠোর সংগ্রামশীলদের ও অধ্যবসায়ীদের, আর তোমাদের খবর আমরা পরীক্ষা করেছি।

And verily We shall try you till We know those of you who strive hard (for the cause of Allah) and the steadfast, and till We test your record.
Transliteration
Inna allatheena kafaroo wasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi washaqqoo alrrasoola min baAAdi ma tabayyana lahumu alhuda lan yaduroo Allaha shayan wasayuhbitu aAAmalahum
জহুরুল হক
নিঃসন্দেহ যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে ও র পথ থেকে সরিয়ে রাখে এবং রসূলের বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করে তাদের কাছে সৎপথ সুস্পষ্ট হবার পরেও, তারা কখনো র কোনো ক্ষতি করতে পারবে না। আর অচিরেই তিনি তাদের ক্রিয়াকলাপ নিষ্ফল করে দেবেন।

Lo! those who disbelieve and turn from the way of Allah and oppose the messenger after the guidance hath been manifested unto them, they hurt Allah not a jot, and He will make their actions fruitless.
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoola wala tubtiloo aAAmalakum
জহুরুল হক
ওহে যারা ঈমান এনেছ! কে মেনে চলো ও রসূলের আজ্ঞা পালন করো, আর তোমাদের ক্রিয়াকর্ম বিফল করো না।

O ye who believe! Obey Allah and obey the messenger, and render not your actions vain.
নিঃসন্দেহ যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে ও র পথ থেকে সরিয়ে রাখে, তারপর মারা যায় অথচ তারা অবিশ্বাসী থাকে, সে - ক্ষেত্রে কখনো তাদের পরিত্রাণ করবেন না।

Lo! those who disbelieve and turn from the way of Allah and then die disbelievers, Allah surely will not pardon them.
Transliteration
Fala tahinoo watadAAoo ila alssalmi waantumu alaAAlawna waAllahu maAAakum walan yatirakum aAAmalakum
জহুরুল হক
অতএব তোমরা ঢিলেমি করো না এবং শান্তির প্রতি আহ্বান করো, আর তোমরাই তো উপরহাত হবে, আর তোমাদের সঙ্গে রয়েছেন, আর তিনি কখনো তোমাদের কার্যাবলী তোমাদের জন্য ব্যাহত করবেন না।

So do not falter and cry out for peace when ye (will be) the uppermost, and Allah is with you, and He will not grudge (the reward of) your actions.
নিঃসন্দেহ এই দুনিয়ার জীবন শুধু খেলাধূলা ও আমোদ - প্রমোদ। আর যদি তোমরা ঈমান আনো ও ধর্মভীরুতা অবলন্বন কর তবে তিনি তোমাদের প্রদান করবেন তোমাদের পুরস্কার, আর তিনি তোমাদের থেকে তোমাদের ধনসম্পদ চাইবেন না।

The life of the world is but a sport and a pastime. And if ye believe and ward off (evil). He will give you your wages, and will not ask of you your wordly wealth.
Transliteration
In yasalkumooha fayuhfikum tabkhaloo wayukhrij adghanakum
জহুরুল হক
যদি তিনি তোমাদের কাছ থেকে তা চাইতেন এবং তোমাদের চাপ দিতেন, তাহলে তোমরা কার্পণ্য করবে, আর তিনি প্রকাশ করে দিচ্ছেন তোমাদের বিদ্বেষ।

If He should ask it of you and importune you, ye would hoard it, and He would bring to light your (secret) hates.
দেখো, তোমরাই তো তারা যাদের আহ্বান করা হচ্ছে যেন তোমরা র পথে ব্যয় কর, কিন্ত তোমাদের মধ্যে রয়েছে তারা যারা কৃপণতা করছে, বস্তুতঃ যে কার্পণ্য করে সে তো বখিলি করছে তার নিজেরই বিরুদ্ধে। আর ধনবান, এবং তোমরা অভাবগ্রস্ত। আর তোমরা যদি ফিরে যাও তবে তিনি তোমাদের স্থলে অন্য লোকদের বদলে আনবেন, তখন তারা তোমাদের মতন হবে না।

Lo! ye are those who are called to spend in the way of Allah, yet among you there are some who hoard. And as for him who hoardeth, he hoardeth only from his soul. And Allah is the Rich, and ye are the poor. And if ye turn away He will exchange you for some other folk, and they will not be the likes of you.
