Transliteration

1 Waaltteeni waalzzaytooni

1 By the Fig and the Olive,

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

1 In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. By the fig, and the olive.

Transliteration

2 Watoori seeneena

Yusuf Ali

2 And the Mount of Sinai,

2 By Mount Sinai.

Transliteration

3 Wahatha albaladi alameeni

Yusuf Ali

3 And this City of security, -

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

3 By this city of security (Makkah).

Transliteration

4 Laqad khalaqna alinsana fee ahsani taqweemin

Yusuf Ali

4 We have indeed created man in the best of moulds,

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

4 Verily, We created man in the best stature (mould).

Transliteration

5 Thumma radadnahu asfala safileena

Yusuf Ali

5 Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low, -

5 Then We reduced him to the lowest of the low.

Transliteration

6 Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati falahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin

Yusuf Ali

6 Except such as believe and do righteous deeds: For they shall have a reward unfailing.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

6 Save those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds. Then they shall have a reward without end (Paradise).

Transliteration

7 Fama yukaththibuka baAAdu bialddeeni

7 Then what can, after this, contradict thee, as to the judgment (to come)?

7 Then what (or who) causes you (O disbelievers) to deny the Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?

8 Alaysa Allahu biahkami alhakimeena

8 Is not Allah the wisest of judges?

8 Is not Allah the Best of judges?
