Isaiah 42:1Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Isaiah 42:2He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

ইসাইয়া - 42পথে-ঘাটে সে চিত্কার করবে না। সে তীব্র চিত্কার করবে না অথবা তার গলা লোকদের মধ্যে শোনা যাবে এমন করবে না।

Isaiah 42:3A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

ইসাইয়া - 42সে ভদ্র হবে। জলাশযের ধারে গজিযে ওঠা আগাছা সে কখনও ভাঙবে না। দুর্বল আগুনকেও সে কখনও নিভিযে দেবে না। সে ন্যায় ভাবে বিচার করবে এবং সত্যকে বের করবে।

Isaiah 42:4He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

ইসাইয়া - 42পৃথিবীতে ন্যায় বিচার না আনা পর্য়ন্ত সে দুর্বল হবে না, অথবা নিষ্পেষিত হবে না। দূরবর্তী স্থানের লোকরা তার শিক্ষামালায় আস্থাবান হবে।”

Isaiah 42:5Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

ইসাইয়া - 42প্রভু প্রকৃত ঈশ্বর, তিনিই এই সব বলেছেন। প্রভু আকাশ বানিয়েছেন। তিনি আকাশকে সারা বিশ্বের ওপর ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন। তিনি পৃথিবীর সব কিছুর সৃষ্টিকর্তা। তিনি পৃথিবীর প্রতিটি মানুষকে শ্বাস-প্রশ্বাস দিয়ে বাঁচিয়ে রেখেছেন। পৃথিবীর ওপর যারা হেঁটে বেড়ায তাদের প্রত্যেক লোককে তিনি একটি আত্মা দেন।

Isaiah 42:6I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Isaiah 42:7To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Isaiah 42:9Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Isaiah 42:10Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

Isaiah 42:11Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Isaiah 42:12Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
Isaiah 42:13The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

Isaiah 42:14I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

Isaiah 42:15I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.

Isaiah 42:16And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

Isaiah 42:17They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

ইসাইয়া - 42কিন্তু কেউ কেউ আমাকে মেনে চলা বন্ধ করেছে। ঐসব লোকদের সোনায বাঁধানো মূর্ত্তি আছে। তারা ঐসব মূর্ত্তিদের বলে, ‘তোমরাই আমাদের দেবতা।’ যে লোকরা তাদের মূর্ত্তিগুলিতে আস্থা রাখে, তারা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেবে এবং লজ্জা পাবে।

Isaiah 42:19Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant?

Isaiah 42:20Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.

Isaiah 42:21The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

Isaiah 42:22But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

Isaiah 42:24Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.

ইসাইয়া - 42যাকোব ও ইস্রায়েল থেকে লোকদের ধনসম্পদ নিতে কে দিয়েছিল? প্রভুই তাদের এসব কাজ করার অনুমতি দিয়েছিলেন। আমরা প্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ কাজ করেছিলাম। তাই প্রভু আমাদের ধনসম্পদ নিয়ে নিতে লোকদের অনুমতি দিয়েছিলেন। ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা প্রভুর বিধির প্রতি মনোযোগ দেয় নি। প্রভু যে ভাবে চেয়ে ছিলেন সে ভাবে ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা জীবনযাপন করেনি।

Isaiah 42:25Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

ইসাইয়া - 42তাই প্রভু তাদের ওপর রুদ্ধ হন। তিনি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে শক্তিশালী যুদ্ধ ঘটিযেছিলেন। এমন হয়েছিল ঠিক যেন ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা আগুন দিয়ে ঘেরা ছিল। কিন্তু তারা কি ঘটছিল তা জানত না। ঘটনাটা ছিল তাদের পুড়ে যাওয়ার মতোই। কিন্তু যা ঘটছিল তারা তা বোঝার চেষ্টা করেনি।
