বিচারকচরিত - 3প্রভু ইস্রায়েল থেকে অন্যান্য জাতির সমস্ত লোকদের সরিয়ে দিলেন না। তিনি ইস্রায়েলীয়দের পরীক্ষা করতে চেয়েছিলেন। এই সময়, কোন ইস্রায়েলবাসী কনান দেশ দখল করতে কোন যুদ্ধ করে নি। প্রভু এদেশে অন্যান্য বিদেশীদের থাকতে অনুমতি দিয়েছিলেন। (যারা কনান দখলের যুদ্ধগুলিতে ভাগ নেযনি সেই ইস্রায়েলবাসীদের তিনি কেমন করে যুদ্ধ করতে হয় শিক্ষা দেবার জন্যই এরকম ব্যবস্থা করেছিলেন।) এদেশে তিনি যেসব জাতিকে থাকতে দিয়েছিলেন তাদের মধ্যে ছিল:

Judges 3:1Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

Judges 3:3Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.

বিচারকচরিত - 3ইস্রায়েলবাসীদের পরীক্ষা করার জন্য প্রভু তাদের থাকতে দিয়েছিলেন। তারা তাঁর আদেশ পালন করে কি না তিনি তা দেখতে চেয়েছিলেন। মোশির মাধ্যমে প্রভু সেইসব আজ্ঞা তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের দিয়েছিলেন।

Judges 3:4And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

Judges 3:5And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:

বিচারকচরিত - 3তারা এইসব সম্প্রদাযের মেয়েদের বিয়ে করত। তাদের মেয়েরা তাদের ছেলেদের বিয়ে করতে শুরু করল। ইস্রায়েলীয়রা ঐ সমস্ত লোকদের দেবতাদের পূজা করতে শুরু করল।

Judges 3:6And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

Judges 3:7And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

Judges 3:8Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.

Judges 3:9And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.

বিচারকচরিত - 3প্রভুর আত্মা অত্নীয়েলের ওপর এল। তিনি ইস্রায়েলীয়দের বিচারক হলেন। যুদ্ধে তাদের নেতৃত্ব দিলেন। প্রভুর সাহায্যে অত্নীয়েল অরামের রাজা কুশন-রিশিযাথযিমকে পরাজিত করলেন।

Judges 3:10And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.

Judges 3:11And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

Judges 3:12And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

বিচারকচরিত - 3ইগ্লোন অম্মোন এবং অমালেক সম্প্রদাযের লোকদের কাছ থেকে সাহায্য পেল। তাদের নিয়ে ইগ্লোন ইস্রায়েলীয়দের আক্রমণ করল। ইগ্লোন তাদের হারিযে ‘খেজুর গাছের শহর’ বা জেরিকো থেকে তাড়িয়ে দিল।

Judges 3:13And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.

বিচারকচরিত - 3ইস্রায়েলীয়রা প্রভুর কাছে কেঁদে পড়ল। তিনি তখন তাদের বাঁচানোর জন্য এহূদ নামে একজন লোককে পাঠালেন। এহূদ ছিল বাঁহাতি। তার পিতার নাম ছিল গেরা, বিন্যামীন বংশীয় লোক। ইস্রায়েলবাসীরা মোয়াবের রাজা ইগ্লোনকে উপহার দেবার জন্য এহূদকে পাঠালেন।

Judges 3:15But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

Judges 3:16But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.

Judges 3:18And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.

বিচারকচরিত - 3তারা রাজার প্রাসাদ ছেড়ে চলে গেল। এহূদ গিল্গল শহরে শিলা মূর্ত্তিগুলোর কাছ থেকে ফিরে এসে ইগ্লোনকে বলল, “রাজা তোমার জন্য একটা গোপন খবর আছে।”রাজা বলল “চুপ।” তারপর সে ঘর থেকে ভৃত্যদের সরিয়ে দিল।

Judges 3:19But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.

বিচারকচরিত - 3এহূদ রাজা ইগ্লোনের কাছে এসেছিল। ইগ্লোন তখন গ্রীষ্মকালীন প্রাসাদের উঁচুতলার একটা ঘরে একেবারে একা।তারপর এহূদ রাজাকে বলল, “তোমার জন্য ঈশ্বরের একটা বার্তা আছে।” শুনেই রাজা সিংহাসন থেকে উঠে এহূদের কাছ ঘেঁষে দাঁড়াল।

Judges 3:20And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlor, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

Judges 3:21And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:

বিচারকচরিত - 3রাজার পেটের ভেতর তরবারির বাঁট শুদ্ধ ঢুকে গেল। রাজার চর্বিতে সেটা পুরোপুরি ঢুকে গেল। এহূদ রাজার পেটেই তরবারিটা রেখে দিল। তরবারি বিদ্ধ হয়ে রাজা ইগ্লোন মলত্যাগের উপর নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিযে ফেলল এবং মল নির্গত হলো।

Judges 3:22And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.

Judges 3:23Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlor upon him, and locked them.

বিচারকচরিত - 3এহূদ চলে যাবার পর ভৃত্যরা ফিরে এলো। তারা দেখল ঘরের দরজা বন্ধ। তাই তারা নিজেরা বলাবলি করল, “রাজা নিশ্চয়ই ঘরের মধ্যে মলমূত্র ত্যাগ করছেন।”

Judges 3:24When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlor were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.

বিচারকচরিত - 3তারা অনেকক্ষণ অপেক্ষা করল। কিন্তু রাজা উপরের ঘরের দরজা খুললেন না। এবং শেষ পর্য়ন্ত তারা ভয় পেয়ে গেল। চাবি নিয়ে তারা দরজা খুলে দেখল রাজা মেঝের উপর মরে পড়ে রযেছেন।

Judges 3:25And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlor; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

বিচারকচরিত - 3ভৃত্যরা যখন রাজার জন্য অপেক্ষা করছিল, তখন এহূদ পালিয়ে যাবার য়থেষ্ট সময় পেয়েছিল। সে মূর্ত্তিগুলোর পাশ দিয়ে যেতে যেতে সিযীরার দিকে পালিয়ে গেল।

Judges 3:26And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.

বিচারকচরিত - 3সে সিযীরায পৌঁছে ইফ্রয়িমের পাহাড়ী অঞ্চলে গিয়ে শিঙা বাজাল। ইস্রায়েলবাসীরা শিঙার শব্দ শুনে পাহাড় থেকে নেমে এল। এহূদ তাদের নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছিল।

Judges 3:27And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.

বিচারকচরিত - 3এহূদ বলল, “আমাকে অনুসরণ কর। প্রভু আমাদের শত্রু মোয়াবের লোকদের পরাজিত করতে শক্তি দিয়েছেন।”তাই ইস্রায়েলবাসীরা এহূদকে অনুসরণ করল। তারা সেইসব জায়গা দখল করল যেখান থেকে সহজেই যর্দন নদী পেরনো যায়। সেই সব জায়গা মোয়াবের দিকে গিয়েছে। তারা কাউকে যর্দন নদী পেরোতে দিল না।

Judges 3:28And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

Judges 3:29And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valor; and there escaped not a man.

Judges 3:30So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.

Judges 3:31And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.
