Chapter 221, 17 verses
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তোমাদের মধ্যে ঝগড়া-বিবাদ কোথা থেকে আসে তা কি তোমরা জান? তোমাদের দেহের মধ্যে য়ে সব স্বার্থপর লালসা যুদ্ধ করছে, সেই সবের মধ্য থেকেই আসে৷
James 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তোমরা কিছু চাও কিন্তু তা পাও না, তখন খুন কর ও অপরকে হিংসা কর৷ কিন্তু তবুও তা পেতে পারো না, তাই তোমরা ঝগড়া কর, মারামারি কর৷ তোমরা যা চাও, তা পাও না, কারণ তোমরা ঈশ্বরের কাছে চাও না৷
James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 অথবা চাইলেও পাও না কারণ তোমরা অসত্ উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে চাও৷ তোমরা কেবল নিজেদের ভোগ বিলাসে ব্যবহারের জন্য জিনিস চাও৷
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 সুতরাং তোমরা ঈশ্বরের প্রতি বিশ্বস্ত নও৷ তোমাদের উচিত য়ে জাগতিক বস্তুগুলিকে ভালবাসার অর্থ হল ঈশ্বরকে ঘৃণা করা৷ তাই য়ে কেউ জগতের বন্ধু হতে চায় সে ঈশ্বরের শত্রু হয়ে ওঠে৷
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তোমরা কি মনে কর য়ে শাস্ত্রের এইসব কথা অর্থহীন? শাস্ত্র বলে, ‘ঈশ্বর য়ে আত্মাকে আমাদের অন্তরে বাস করতে দিয়েছেন, তা চায় য়েন আমরা শুধু তাঁরই হই৷’
James 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহদান তার থেকেও বড় বিষয়৷ তাই শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে: ‘ঈশ্বর অহঙ্কারীদের প্রতিরোধ করেন, কিন্তু যাঁরা নম্র তিনি তাদের অনুগ্রহ প্রদান করেন৷’
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তাই তোমরা নিজেদের ঈশ্বরের কাছে সঁপে দাও৷ দিয়াবলের বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়াও, তাহলে সে তোমাদের ছেড়ে পালিয়ে যাবে৷
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তোমরা ঈশ্বরের নিকটবর্তী হও, তাতে তিনিও তোমাদের নিকটবর্তী হবেন৷ পাপীরা, তোমাদের জীবন থেকে পাপ দূর করো৷ তোমরা একই সাথে ঈশ্বরের ও জগতের সেবা করতে চেষ্টা করছ৷ তোমাদের অন্তঃকরণ পবিত্র কর৷
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তোমরা শোক কর, দুঃখে ভেঙ্গে পড় ও কাঁদ, তোমাদের হাসি কান্নায় পরিণত হোক্, আর আনন্দ, বিষাদে পরিণত হোক্৷
James 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তোমরা প্রভুর সামনে নত হও, তাহলে তিনি তোমাদের উন্নীত করবেন৷
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 ভাই ও বোনেরা, তোমরা পরস্পরের বিরুদ্ধে নিন্দা করা বন্ধ কর৷ যদি কেউ তার ভাইয়ের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলে অথবা তার ভাইয়ের বিচার করে, সে বিধি-ব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধেই কথা বলে এবং ব্যবস্থার বিচার করে৷ যদি তুমি বিধি-ব্যবস্থার বিচার কর, তাহলে তুমি আর তার পালনকারী হলে না বরং বিধি-ব্যবস্থার বিচারক হলে৷
James 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 একমাত্র ঈশ্বরই বিধি-ব্যবস্থা দিতে পারেন ও বিচার করতে পারেন৷ একমাত্র তিনিই বিচারকর্তা, কেবল তিনিই আমাদের রক্ষা করতে বা বিনষ্ট করতে পারেন৷ তাই অন্য কারুরই বিচার করা তোমার অধিকারে নেই৷
James 4:12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ বলে, ‘আজ বা কাল আমরা এমন শহরে যাব, য়েখানে গিয়ে এক বছর থাকব আর ব্যবসা করে লাভ করব৷’
James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 একটু ভেবে দেখ, কাল কি হবে তা তুমি জান না৷ তোমাদের প্রাণ তো কুয়াশার মতো, ক্ষণকালের জন্য তা দৃষ্টিগোচর হয়, তারপর উবে যায়৷
James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 তাই তোমাদের বলা উচিত, ‘প্রভুর ইচ্ছা হলে, আমরা বেঁচে থাকব আর এটা ওটা করব৷’
James 4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 কিন্তু এখন তোমরা নিজেদের বিষয়ে নিজেরাই অহঙ্কার ও দর্প করছ; আর এই প্রকারের সব অহঙ্কার অন্যায়৷
James 4:16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
যাকোবের পত্র - 4 মনে রেখো, য়ে সত্ কর্ম করতে জানে অথচ তা না করে, সে পাপ করে৷
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
