শিষ্যচরিত - 6বহুলোক দলে দলে খ্রীষ্টের অনুগামী হতে লাগল৷ সেই সময় গ্রীক ভাষাভাষী বিশ্বাসীরা অপর ইহুদী বিশ্বাসীদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ করল, য়ে দৈনিক প্রযোজনীয় সামগ্রী বিতরণের সময়ে তাদের বিধবাদের প্রতি পক্ষপাতিত্ব করা হচ্ছে৷

Acts 6:1And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

শিষ্যচরিত - 6তখন সেই বারোজন প্রেরিত সমস্ত অনুগামীদের ডেকে বললেন, ‘লোকদের খাদ্য পরিবেশন করার জন্যে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য প্রচারের কাজ বন্ধ করা ঠিক নয়৷

Acts 6:2Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Acts 6:3Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Acts 6:5And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

Acts 6:7And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

শিষ্যচরিত - 6কিন্তু ইহুদীদের মধ্যে কিছু লোক এসে স্তিফানেব সঙ্গে তর্ক শুরু করল৷ তাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ সমাজ-গৃহ থেকে এসেছিল যাদের নাম ছিল লিবর্ত্তীনদের সমাজ-গৃহ, আলেকসান্দ্রীয় ও কুরীনীয় কিছু ইহুদীরা এই সমাজ-গৃহে য়েত৷ অন্য ইহুদীরা কিলিকিযা ও এশিযা থেকে এসেছিল৷

Acts 6:9Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

শিষ্যচরিত - 6তাদের সঙ্গে বিজ্ঞতায় কথা বলতে পবিত্র আত্মা স্তিফানকে সাহায্য করেছিলেন৷ তাঁর কথা এতো শক্তিশালী ছিল য়ে তারা কেউ তাঁর সামনে দাঁড়াতে পারল না৷

Acts 6:10And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

Acts 6:11Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

Acts 6:13And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

Acts 6:14For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

Acts 6:15And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
