Hilali & Muhsin Khan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Indeed Allah has heard the statement of her (Khaulah bint Tha'labah) that disputes with you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) concerning her husband (Aus bin As-Samit), and complains to Allah. And Allah hears the argument between you both. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قد سمع الله قول التي تجادلك في زوجها وتشتكي إلى الله والله يسمع تحاوركما ۚ إن الله سميع بصير

শুনেছেন সেই নারীর কথা, যে তার স্বামীর বিষয়ে বিতর্ক করছে তোমার সাথে এবং শেকায়েত (অভিযোগ, ফরিয়াদ) করছে আল্লাহর কাছে। তোমাদের কথোপকথন শুনেছেন। সব শুনেন, সব দেখেন।

Those among you who make their wives unlawful to them by (Zihar الظهار) (i.e. by saying to them "You are like my mother's back,") they cannot be their mothers. None can be their mothers except those who gave them birth. And verily, they utter an ill word and a lie. And verily, Allah is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.

الذين يظاهرون منكم من نسائهم ما هن أمهاتهم ۖ إن أمهاتهم إلا اللائي ولدنهم ۚ وإنهم ليقولون منكرا من القول وزورا ۚ وإن الله لعفو غفور

তোমাদের যারা নিজেদের স্ত্রীদের সাথে যিহার করে তারা জেনে রাখুক তাদের স্ত্রীরা তাদের মা নয়। তাদের মা তো তারাই যারা তাদের জন্ম দিয়েছে। (যারা যিহার করে) তারা একটি অন্যায়, অসংগত ও অসত্য কথাই বলে। নিশ্চয়ই দয়াময় ক্ষমাশীল।

And those who make unlawful to them their wives by Zihar and wish to free themselves from what they uttered, (the penalty) in that case is the freeing of a slave before they touch each other. That is an admonition to you (so that you may not repeat such an ill thing). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

والذين يظاهرون من نسائهم ثم يعودون لما قالوا فتحرير رقبة من قبل أن يتماسا ۚ ذلكم توعظون به ۚ والله بما تعملون خبير

যারা নিজেদের স্ত্রীদের সাথে যিহার করে, তারপর নিজেদের বক্তব্য প্রত্যাহার করে নেয়, তাদের জন্যে বিধান হলো, তারা পরস্পরকে স্পর্শ করার আগে একটি দাসমুক্ত করবে। এভাবেই তোমাদের উপদেশ দেয়া হলো। তোমরা যা করো সে বিষয়ে খবর রাখেন।

And he who finds not (the money for freeing a slave) must fast two successive months before they both touch each other. And he who is unable to do so, should feed sixty Miskins (poor). That is in order that you may have perfect Faith in Allah and His Messenger. These are the limits set by Allah. And for disbelievers, there is a painful torment.

فمن لم يجد فصيام شهرين متتابعين من قبل أن يتماسا ۖ فمن لم يستطع فإطعام ستين مسكينا ۚ ذلك لتؤمنوا بالله ورسوله ۚ وتلك حدود الله ۗ وللكافرين عذاب أليم

এই সামর্থ্য যার নেই, পরস্পরকে স্পর্শ করার আগে সে অবিরাম দুই মাস সিয়াম পালন করবে (রোযা রাখবে)। যে এটা করতেও অসমর্থ হবে, সে ষাটজন মিসকিনকে (অভাবীকে) খাবার খাওয়াবে। এ বিধান দেয়া হলো, যেনো তোমরা ও তাঁর রসূলের প্রতি ঈমান রাখো, এটাই আল্লাহর বিধান। আল্লাহর বিধান অমান্যকারীদের জন্যে রয়েছে বেদনাদায়ক আযাব।

Verily, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) will be disgraced, as those before them (among the past nation) were disgraced. And We have sent down clear Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). And for the disbelievers is a disgracing torment.

إن الذين يحادون الله ورسوله كبتوا كما كبت الذين من قبلهم ۚ وقد أنزلنا آيات بينات ۚ وللكافرين عذاب مهين
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
যারা ও তাঁর রসূলের বিরোধিতা করে, তাদের অপদস্থ করা হবে, যেমন অপদস্থ করা হয়েছে তাদের আগের লোকদের। আমরা তো সুস্পষ্ট আয়াত নাযিল করেছি। অমান্যকারীদের জন্যে রয়েছে অপমানকর আযাব।

On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all together (i.e. on the Day of Resurrection) and inform them of what they did. Allah has kept account of it, while they have forgotten it. And Allah is Witness over all things.

يوم يبعثهم الله جميعا فينبئهم بما عملوا ۚ أحصاه الله ونسوه ۚ والله على كل شيء شهيد
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
যেদিন তাদের সবাইকে পুনরুত্থিত করবেন, সেদিন তাদের কৃতকর্ম সম্পর্কে তাদের অবহিত করবেন। তার (তাদের কৃতকর্মের) হিসাব রেখেছেন, কিন্তু তারা তা ভুলে গেছে। প্রতিটি বিষয়ের প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী।

Have you not seen that Allah knows whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth? There is no Najwa (secret counsel) of three but He is their fourth (with His Knowledge, while He Himself is over the Throne, over the seventh heaven), nor of five but He is their sixth (with His Knowledge), nor of less than that or more but He is with them (with His Knowledge) wheresoever they may be. And afterwards on the Day of Resurrection He will inform them of what they did. Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything.

ألم تر أن الله يعلم ما في السماوات وما في الأرض ۖ ما يكون من نجوى ثلاثة إلا هو رابعهم ولا خمسة إلا هو سادسهم ولا أدنى من ذلك ولا أكثر إلا هو معهم أين ما كانوا ۖ ثم ينبئهم بما عملوا يوم القيامة ۚ إن الله بكل شيء عليم

তুমি কি দেখোনা যে, জানেন মহাকাশ এবং পৃথিবীতে যা কিছু আছে? তিন ব্যক্তির মধ্যে কোনো গোপন সলাপরামর্শ হয়না যেখানে চতুর্থজন হিসেবে তিনি উপস্থিত থাকেননা। পাঁচ ব্যক্তির মধ্যেও হয়না, যেখানে ষষ্ঠজন হিসেবে তিনি হাজির থাকেন না। তারা এর চাইতে কম হোক কিংবা বেশি, তিনি তাদের সাথেই থাকেন যেখানেই তারা থাকুক। তারপর কিয়ামতের দিন তিনি তাদের অবহিত করবেন - তারা কী করেছিল? নিশ্চয়ই প্রতিটি বিষয়ে জ্ঞানী।

Have you not seen those who were forbidden to hold secret counsels, and afterwards returned to that which they had been forbidden, and conspired together for sin and wrong doing and disobedience to the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). And when they come to you, they greet you with a greeting wherewith Allah greets you not, and say within themselves: "Why should Allah punish us not for what we say?" Hell will be sufficient for them; they will burn therein. And worst indeed is that destination!

ألم تر إلى الذين نهوا عن النجوى ثم يعودون لما نهوا عنه ويتناجون بالإثم والعدوان ومعصيت الرسول وإذا جاءوك حيوك بما لم يحيك به الله ويقولون في أنفسهم لولا يعذبنا الله بما نقول ۚ حسبهم جهنم يصلونها ۖ فبئس المصير

তুমি কি তাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য করছো না, যাদের গোপন সলাপরামর্শ করতে নিষেধ করা হয়েছিল; কিন্তু নিষেধ করার পরও তারা সেটার পুনরাবৃত্তি করে এবং পাপ কাজ, সীমালংঘন ও রসূলের বিরুদ্ধাচরণের জন্যে গোপন সলাপরামর্শ করে? তারা যখন তোমার কাছে আসে, এমন ভাষায় তোমাকে অভিবাদন করে, যে ভাষায় তোমাকে অভিবাদন করেননি। তারা মনে মনে বলে: ‘আমরা যা বলি, তার জন্যে আমাদের শাস্তি দেন না কেন?’ তাদের জন্যে জাহান্নামই যথেষ্ট। তাতেই তারা দগ্ধ হবে, আর সেটা কতো যে নিকৃষ্ট আবাস!

O you who believe! When you hold secret counsel, do it not for sin and wrong-doing, and disobedience towards the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), but do it for Al-Birr (righteousness) and Taqwa (virtues and piety); and fear Allah unto Whom you shall be gathered.

يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا تناجيتم فلا تتناجوا بالإثم والعدوان ومعصيت الرسول وتناجوا بالبر والتقوى ۖ واتقوا الله الذي إليه تحشرون

হে লোকেরা! তোমরা যখন গোপন পরামর্শ করো, সেটা যেনো পাপালাপ, সীমালংঘন এবং রসূলের বিরুদ্ধাচরণের জন্যে না হয়। তোমরা গোপন পরামর্শ করলে তা করবে কল্যাণকর কাজ ও তাকওয়া অবলম্বনের উদ্দেশ্যে। তোমরা সেই আল্লাহকে ভয় করো, যাঁর কাছে তোমাদের হাশর করা হবে।

Secret counsels (conspiracies) are only from Shaitan (Satan), in order that he may cause grief to the believers. But he cannot harm them in the least, except as Allah permits. And in Allah let the believers put their trust .

إنما النجوى من الشيطان ليحزن الذين آمنوا وليس بضارهم شيئا إلا بإذن الله ۚ وعلى الله فليتوكل المؤمنون
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
গোপন সলাপরামর্শ হয় শয়তানের প্ররোচণায় মুমিনদের মনে কষ্ট দেয়ার জন্যে। আল্লাহর ইচ্ছা ছাড়া সে তাদের সামান্যতম ক্ষতি করতেও সক্ষম নয়। মুমিনরা আল্লাহর উপরই তাওয়াক্কুল করুক।

O you who believe! When you are told to make room in the assemblies, (spread out and) make room. Allah will give you (ample) room (from His Mercy). And when you are told to rise up [for prayers, or Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's cause), or for any other good deed], rise up. Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge. And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا قيل لكم تفسحوا في المجالس فافسحوا يفسح الله لكم ۖ وإذا قيل انشزوا فانشزوا يرفع الله الذين آمنوا منكم والذين أوتوا العلم درجات ۚ والله بما تعملون خبير

হে লোকেরা! তোমাদের যখন বলা হয়: মজলিসে স্থান প্রশস্ত করে দাও, তখন তোমরা (অপরের জন্য) স্থান করে দিও, তাহলে আল্লাহ্ও তোমাদের জন্যে প্রশস্ত করে দেবেন। আর যখন তোমাদের বলা হয়: ‘উঠে যাও’, তখন তোমরা উঠে যেয়ো। তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা ঈমান এনেছে এবং যাদের জ্ঞান দান করা হয়েছে তাদের উচ্চ মর্যাদায় অধিষ্ঠিত করবেন। তোমরা যা করো, সে বিষয়ে অবহিত।

O you who believe! When you (want to) consult the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) in private, spend something in charity before your private consultation. That will be better and purer for you. But if you find not (the means for it), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا ناجيتم الرسول فقدموا بين يدي نجواكم صدقة ۚ ذلك خير لكم وأطهر ۚ فإن لم تجدوا فإن الله غفور رحيم
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
হে লোকেরা! তোমরা রসূলের সাথে চুপে চুপে কথা বলতে চাইলে তার আগে হাদিয়া প্রদান করবে। এটা উত্তম এবং পবিত্র। যদি তা করতে তোমরা সমর্থ না হও, তবে ক্ষমাশীল, দয়াময়।

Are you afraid of spending in charity before your private consultation (with him)? If then you do it not, and Allah has forgiven you, then (at least) perform Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat ) and give Zakat and obey Allah (i.e. do all that Allah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم order you to do). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

أأشفقتم أن تقدموا بين يدي نجواكم صدقات ۚ فإذ لم تفعلوا وتاب الله عليكم فأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وأطيعوا الله ورسوله ۚ والله خبير بما تعملون

তোমরা কি চুপে চুপে কথা বলার আগে হাদিয়া প্রদানকে কষ্টকর মনে করো? যদি তোমরা হাদিয়া না দাও, তোমাদের ক্ষমা করে দিয়েছেন। সুতরাং তোমরা কায়েম করো, যাকাত প্রদান করো এবং ও তাঁর রসূলের আনুগত্য করো। তোমরা যা করো, সে বিষয়ে খবর রাখেন।

Have you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) not seen those (hypocrites) who take as friends a people upon whom is the Wrath of Allah (i.e. Jews)? They are neither of you (Muslims) nor of them (Jews), and they swear to a lie while they know.

۞ ألم تر إلى الذين تولوا قوما غضب الله عليهم ما هم منكم ولا منهم ويحلفون على الكذب وهم يعلمون
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
তুমি কি তাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য করোনি, যারা সেই সম্প্রদায়ের সাথে (মুনাফিকদের সাথে) বন্ধুতা করে, যাদের প্রতি ক্ষুব্ধ। তারা তোমাদের লোক নয়, তোমরাও তাদের লোক নও। তারা জেনে শুনে মিথ্যা হলফ করে।

Allah has prepared for them a severe torment. Evil indeed is that which they used to do.

أعد الله لهم عذابا شديدا ۖ إنهم ساء ما كانوا يعملون

তাদের জন্যে প্রস্ত্তত রেখেছেন কঠোর আযাব। তারা যা করে তা চরম নিকৃষ্ট।

They have made their oaths a screen (for their evil actions). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allah: so they shall have a humiliating torment.

اتخذوا أيمانهم جنة فصدوا عن سبيل الله فلهم عذاب مهين

তারা তাদের শপথকে ঢাল হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে এবং তারা আল্লাহর পথে বাধা সৃষ্টি করে। সুতরাং তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে অপমানকর আযাব।

Their children and their wealth will avail them nothing against Allah. They will be the dwellers of the Fire to dwell therein forever.

لن تغني عنهم أموالهم ولا أولادهم من الله شيئا ۚ أولئك أصحاب النار ۖ هم فيها خالدون

তাদের ধন - সম্পদ এবং সন্তান - সন্ততি আল্লাহর মোকাবেলায় তাদের কোনো কাজেই আসবেনা। তারা হবে আগুনের অধিবাসী, সেখানেই থাকবে তারা চিরকাল।

On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all together (for their account); then they will swear to Him as they swear to you (O Muslims). And they think that they have something (to stand upon). Verily, they are liars!

يوم يبعثهم الله جميعا فيحلفون له كما يحلفون لكم ۖ ويحسبون أنهم على شيء ۚ ألا إنهم هم الكاذبون

যেদিন তাদের সবাইকে পুনরুত্থিত করবেন, সেদিনও তারা আল্লাহর সাথে ঠিক সে রকম হলফই করবে, যে রকম হলফ করে তোমাদের সাথে। তারা মনে করে তারা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কিছুর উপর রয়েছে। জেনে রাখো, আসলে তারা মিথ্যাবাদী।

Shaitan (Satan) has overpowered them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah. They are the party of Shaitan (Satan). Verily, it is the party of Shaitan (Satan) that will be the losers!

استحوذ عليهم الشيطان فأنساهم ذكر الله ۚ أولئك حزب الشيطان ۚ ألا إن حزب الشيطان هم الخاسرون
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
শয়তান তাদের উপর প্রভাব বিস্তার করে আছে। ফলে সে তাদের ভুলিয়ে দিয়েছে আল্লাহর যিকির। মূলত তারা হলো শয়তানের দল। আর জেনে রাখো, শয়তানের দল অবশ্যি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবে।

Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) they will be among the lowest (most humiliated).

إن الذين يحادون الله ورسوله أولئك في الأذلين

যারা ও তাঁর রসূলের বিরোধিতা করে, তারাই হবে লাঞ্ছিতদের অন্তরভুক্ত।

Allah has decreed: "Verily, it is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious." Verily, Allah is All-Powerful, All-Mighty.

كتب الله لأغلبن أنا ورسلي ۚ إن الله قوي عزيز

লিখে রেখেছেন, আমি অবশ্যি বিজয়ী হবো এবং আমার রসূলরাও। নিশ্চয়ই শক্তিধর, পরাক্রমশালী।

You (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), even though they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow to dwell therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the .

لا تجد قوما يؤمنون بالله واليوم الآخر يوادون من حاد الله ورسوله ولو كانوا آباءهم أو أبناءهم أو إخوانهم أو عشيرتهم ۚ أولئك كتب في قلوبهم الإيمان وأيدهم بروح منه ۖ ويدخلهم جنات تجري من تحتها الأنهار خالدين فيها ۚ رضي الله عنهم ورضوا عنه ۚ أولئك حزب الله ۚ ألا إن حزب الله هم المفلحون

যারা আল্লাহর প্রতি এবং আখিরাতের প্রতি ঈমান রাখে তুমি তাদের কাউকেও এমন পাবেনা, যে ও তাঁর রসূলের বিরোধিতাকারীর সাথে বন্ধুতা ও ভালোবাসা রাখে, বিরোধিতাকারীরা তাদের বাবা - মা, ছেলে - মেয়ে, ভাই - বোন এবং আত্মীয় - স্বজন হলেও। এদের অন্তরে লিখে দিয়েছেন ঈমান এবং তাদের সাহায্য করেছেন তাঁর পক্ষ থেকে রূহ (অহির জ্ঞান, কুরআন) দিয়ে। তিনি তাদের দাখিল করবেন জান্নাতে, যার নিচে দিয়ে বহমান থাকবে নদ নদী নহর, চিরকাল থাকবে তারা সেখানে। তাদের প্রতি রাজি হয়ে গেছেন এবং তারাও তাঁর প্রতি রাজি হয়েছে। এরাই আল্লাহর দল। আর জেনে রাখো, আল্লাহর দলই হবে সফল।
