In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour (of Judgement) is a terrible thing.
Arabic
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم يا أيها الناس اتقوا ربكم ۚ إن زلزلة الساعة شيء عظيم
The Day you shall see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant one will drop her load, and you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet they will not be drunken, but severe will be the Torment of Allah.

يوم ترونها تذهل كل مرضعة عما أرضعت وتضع كل ذات حمل حملها وترى الناس سكارى وما هم بسكارى ولكن عذاب الله شديد

যেদিন তোমরা উহা প্রত্যক্ষ করিবে সেই দিন প্রত্যেক স্তন্যদাত্রী বিস্মৃত হইবে তাহার দুগ্ধপোষ্য শিশুকে এবং প্রত্যেক গর্ভবতী তাহার গর্ভপাত করিয়া ফেলিবে ; মানুষকে দেখিবে নেশাগ্রস্তসদৃশ, যদিও উহারা নেশাগ্রস্ত নয়। বস্তুত র শাস্তি কঠিন।
And among mankind is he who disputes concerning Allah, without knowledge, and follows every rebellious (disobedient to Allah) Shaitan (devil) (devoid of every kind of good).

ومن الناس من يجادل في الله بغير علم ويتبع كل شيطان مريد

মানুষের মধ্যে কতক অজ্ঞানতাবশত সম্বন্ধে বিতণ্ডা করে এবং অনুসরণ করে প্রত্যেক বিদ্রোহী শয়তানের,
For him (the devil) it is decreed that whosoever follows him, he will mislead him, and will drive him to the torment of the Fire. [Tafsir At-Tabari]

كتب عليه أنه من تولاه فأنه يضله ويهديه إلى عذاب السعير

তাহার সম্বন্ধে এই নিয়ম করিয়া দেওয়া হইয়াছে যে, যে কেহ তাহার সঙ্গে বন্ধুত্ব করিবে সে তাহাকে পথভ্রষ্ট করিবে এবং তাহাকে পরিচালিত করিবে অগ্নির শাস্তির দিকে।
O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. the offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh - some formed and some unformed (as in the case of miscarriage) - that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life), and it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth).

يا أيها الناس إن كنتم في ريب من البعث فإنا خلقناكم من تراب ثم من نطفة ثم من علقة ثم من مضغة مخلقة وغير مخلقة لنبين لكم ۚ ونقر في الأرحام ما نشاء إلى أجل مسمى ثم نخرجكم طفلا ثم لتبلغوا أشدكم ۖ ومنكم من يتوفى ومنكم من يرد إلى أرذل العمر لكيلا يعلم من بعد علم شيئا ۚ وترى الأرض هامدة فإذا أنزلنا عليها الماء اهتزت وربت وأنبتت من كل زوج بهيج

হে মানুষ ! পুনরুত্থান সম্বন্ধে যদি তোমরা সন্দিগ্ধ হও তবে অবধান কর - আমি তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছি মৃত্তিকা হইতে, তাহার পর শুক্র হইতে, তাহার পর ‘আলাকা’ হইতে, তাহার পর পূর্ণাকৃতি অথবা অপূর্ণাকৃতি গোশত্পিণ্ড হইতে - তোমাদের নিকট ব্যক্ত করিবার জন্য, আমি যাহা ইচ্ছা করি তাহা এক নির্দিষ্ট কালের জন্য মাতৃগর্ভে স্থিত রাখি, তাহার পর আমি তোমাদেরকে শিশুরূপে বাহির করি, পরে যাহাতে তোমরা পরিণত বয়সে উপনীত হও। তোমাদের মধ্যে কাহারও কাহারও মৃত্যু ঘটান হয় এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে কাহাকেও কাহাকেও প্রত্যাবৃত্ত করা হয় হীনতম বয়সে, যাহার ফলে উহারা যাহা কিছু জানিত সে সম্বন্ধে উহারা সজ্ঞান থাকে না। তুমি ভূমিকে দেখ শুষ্ক, অতঃপর উহাতে আমি বারি বর্ষণ করিলে উহা শস্য - শ্যামলা হইয়া আন্দোলিত ও স্ফীত হয় এবং উদ্গত করে সর্বপ্রকার নয়নাভিরাম উদ্ভিদ;
Bending his neck in pride (far astray from the Path of Allah), and leading (others) too (far) astray from the Path of Allah. For him there is disgrace in this worldly life, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall make him taste the torment of burning (Fire).

ثاني عطفه ليضل عن سبيل الله ۖ له في الدنيا خزي ۖ ونذيقه يوم القيامة عذاب الحريق

সে বিতণ্ডা করে ঘাড় বাঁকাইয়া লোকদেরকে র পথ হইতে ভ্রষ্ট করিবার জন্য। তাহার জন্য লাঞ্ছনা আছে ইহলোকে এবং কিয়ামত দিবসে আমি তাহাকে আস্বাদ করাইব দহন - যন্ত্রণা।
And among mankind is he who worships Allah as it were, upon the edge (i.e. in doubt): if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts to disbelief after embracing Islam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss.

ومن الناس من يعبد الله على حرف ۖ فإن أصابه خير اطمأن به ۖ وإن أصابته فتنة انقلب على وجهه خسر الدنيا والآخرة ۚ ذلك هو الخسران المبين

মানুষের মধ্যে কেহ কেহ র ‘ইবাদত করে দ্বিধার সঙ্গে; তাহার মঙ্গল হইলে তাহাতে তাহার চিত্ত প্রশান্ত হয় এবং কোন বিপর্যয় ঘটিলে সে তাহার পূর্বাবস্থায় ফিরিয়া যায়। সে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয় দুনিয়াতে ও আখিরাতে ; ইহাই তো সুস্পষ্ট ক্ষতি।
Truly, Allah will admit those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds (according to the Qur'an and the Sunnah) to Gardens underneath which rivers flow (in Paradise). Verily, Allah does what He wills.

إن الله يدخل الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات جنات تجري من تحتها الأنهار ۚ إن الله يفعل ما يريد

যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে অবশ্যই তাহাদেরকে দাখিল করিবেন জান্নাতে, যাহার নিম্নদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত। যাহা ইচ্ছা তাহাই করেন।
Whoever thinks that Allah will not help him (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) in this world and in the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and let him strangle himself. Then let him see whether his plan will remove that whereat he rages!

من كان يظن أن لن ينصره الله في الدنيا والآخرة فليمدد بسبب إلى السماء ثم ليقطع فلينظر هل يذهبن كيده ما يغيظ

যে কেহ মনে করে, তাহাকে কখনই দুনিয়া ও আখিরাতে সাহায্য করিবেন না, সে আকাশের দিকে একটি রজ্জু বিলম্বিত করুক, পরে উহা বিচ্ছিন্ন করুক; অতঃপর দেখুক তাহার প্রচেষ্টা তাহার আক্রোশের হেতু দূর করে কি না।
Verily, those who believe (in Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those who are Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians, and the Majus, and those who worship others besides Allah, truly, Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Verily! Allah is over all things a Witness.

إن الذين آمنوا والذين هادوا والصابئين والنصارى والمجوس والذين أشركوا إن الله يفصل بينهم يوم القيامة ۚ إن الله على كل شيء شهيد

নিশ্চয়ই যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে এবং যাহারা ইয়াহূদী হইয়াছে, যাহারা সাবিয়ী, খ্রিস্টান ও অগ্নিপূজক এবং যাহারা মুশরিক হইয়াছে কিয়ামতের দিন তাহাদের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করিয়া দিবেন। তো সব কিছুর সম্যক প্রত্যক্ষকারী।
See you not that whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and Ad-Dawabb [moving (living) creatures, beasts], and many of mankind prostrate themselves to Allah. But there are many (men) on whom the punishment is justified. And whomsoever Allah disgraces, none can honour him. Verily, Allah does what He wills.

ألم تر أن الله يسجد له من في السماوات ومن في الأرض والشمس والقمر والنجوم والجبال والشجر والدواب وكثير من الناس ۖ وكثير حق عليه العذاب ۗ ومن يهن الله فما له من مكرم ۚ إن الله يفعل ما يشاء ۩

তুমি কি দেখ না যে, কে সিজ্দা করে যাহা কিছু আছে আকাশমণ্ডলীতে ও পৃথিবীতে, সূর্য, চন্দ্র, নক্ষত্রমণ্ডলী, পর্বতরাজি, বৃক্ষলতা, জীবজন্তু এবং সিজ্দা করে মানুষের মধ্যে অনেকে? আবার অনেকের প্রতি অবধারিত হইয়াছে শাস্তি। যাহাকে হেয় করেন তাহার সম্মানদাতা কেহই নাই; যাহা ইচ্ছা তাহা করেন।
These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each other about their Lord: then as for those who disbelieved, garments of fire will be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads.

۞ هذان خصمان اختصموا في ربهم ۖ فالذين كفروا قطعت لهم ثياب من نار يصب من فوق رءوسهم الحميم

ইহারা দুইটি বিবদমান পক্ষ, তাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালক সম্বন্ধে বিতর্ক করে ; যাহারা করে তাহাদের জন্য প্রস্তুত করা হইয়াছে আগুনের পোশাক, তাহাদের মাথার উপর ঢালিয়া দেওয়া হইবে ফুটন্ত পানি,
With it will melt (or vanish away) what is within their bellies, as well as (their) skins.

وَلَهُم مَّقَٰمِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ
Hilali & Muhsin Khan
Every time they seek to get away therefrom, from anguish, they will be driven back therein, and (it will be) said to them: "Taste the torment of burning!"
Arabic
كلما أرادوا أن يخرجوا منها من غم أعيدوا فيها وذوقوا عذاب الحريق
Truly, Allah will admit those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to Gardens underneath which rivers flow (in Paradise), wherein they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls and their garments therein will be of silk.

إن الله يدخل الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات جنات تجري من تحتها الأنهار يحلون فيها من أساور من ذهب ولؤلؤا ۖ ولباسهم فيها حرير

যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে তাহাদেরকে দাখিল করিবেন জান্নাতে যাহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত, সেখানে তাহাদেরকে অলঙ্কৃত করা হইবে স্বর্ণ - কঙ্কন ও মুক্তা দ্বারা এবং সেখানে তাহাদের পোশাক - পরিচ্ছদ হইবে রেশমের।
And they are guided (in this world) unto goodly speech (i.e. La ilaha illallah, Alhamdu lillah, recitation of the Qur'an, etc.) and they are guided to the Path of Him (i.e. Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism), Who is Worthy of all praises.

وهدوا إلى الطيب من القول وهدوا إلى صراط الحميد

তাহাদেরকে পবিত্র বাক্যের অনুগামী করা হইয়াছিল এবং তাহারা পরিচালিত হইয়াছিল পরম প্রশংসাভাজন র পথে।
Verily, those who disbelieved and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) which We have made (open) to (all) men, the dweller in it and the visitor from the country are equal there [as regards its sanctity and pilgrimage (Hajj and 'Umrah)] - and whoever inclines to evil actions therein or to do wrong (i.e. practise polytheism and leave Islamic Monotheism), him We shall cause to taste from a painful torment.

إن الذين كفروا ويصدون عن سبيل الله والمسجد الحرام الذي جعلناه للناس سواء العاكف فيه والباد ۚ ومن يرد فيه بإلحاد بظلم نذقه من عذاب أليم

যাহারা করে এবং মানুষকে নিবৃত্ত করে র পথ হইতে ও মসজিদুল হারাম হইতে, যাহা আমি করিয়াছি স্থানীয় ও বহিরাগত সকলের জন্য সমান, আর যে ইচ্ছা করে সীমালংঘন করিয়া উহাতে পাপ কার্যের, তাহাকে আমি আস্বাদন করাইব মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তির।
And (remember) when We showed Ibrahim (Abraham) the site of the (Sacred) House (the Ka'bah at Makkah) (saying): "Associate not anything (in worship) with Me, [La ilaha illallah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) - Islamic Monotheism], and sanctify My House for those who circumambulate it, and those who stand up (for prayer), and those who bow (submit themselves with humility and obedience to Allah), and make prostration (in prayer);"

وإذ بوأنا لإبراهيم مكان البيت أن لا تشرك بي شيئا وطهر بيتي للطائفين والقائمين والركع السجود

এবং স্মরণ কর, যখন আমি ইব্রাহীমের জন্য নির্ধারণ করিয়া দিয়াছিলাম সেই গৃহের স্থান, তখন বলিয়াছিলাম, ‘আমার সঙ্গে কোন শরীক স্থির করিও না এবং আমার গৃহকে পবিত্র রাখিও তাহাদের জন্য যাহারা তাওয়াফ করে এবং যাহারা সালাতে দাঁড়ায়, রুকূ‘ করে ও সিজ্দা করে।
And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj ).

وأذن في الناس بالحج يأتوك رجالا وعلى كل ضامر يأتين من كل فج عميق

এবং মানুষের নিকট হজ্জ - এর ঘোষণা করিয়া দাও, উহারা তোমার নিকট আসিবে পদব্রজে ও সর্বপ্রকার ক্ষীণকায় উষ্ট্রের পিঠে, ইহারা আসিবে দূর - দূরান্তর পথ অতিক্রম করিয়া,
That they may witness things that are of benefit to them (i.e. reward of Hajj in the Hereafter, and also some worldly gain from trade), and mention the Name of Allah on appointed days (i.e. 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th day of Dhul-Hijjah), over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them (for sacrifice), [at the time of their slaughtering by saying: (Bismillah, Wallahu-Akbar, Allahumma Minka wa Ilaik).] Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor having a hard time.

ليشهدوا منافع لهم ويذكروا اسم الله في أيام معلومات على ما رزقهم من بهيمة الأنعام ۖ فكلوا منها وأطعموا البائس الفقير

যাহাতে তাহারা তাহাদের কল্যাণময় স্থানগুলিতে উপস্থিত হইতে পারে এবং তিনি তাহাদেরকে চতুষ্পদ জন্তু হইতে যাহা রিযিক হিসাবে দান করিয়াছেন উহার উপর নিদির্ষ্ট দিনগুলিতে র নাম উচ্চারণ করিতে পারে। অতঃপর তোমরা উহা হইতে আহার কর এবং দুস্থ, অভাবগ্রস্তকে আহার করাও।
That (Manasik- prescribed duties of Hajj is the obligation that mankind owes to Allah), and whoever honours the sacred things of Allah, then that is better for him with his Lord. The cattle are lawful to you, except those (that will be) mentioned to you (as exceptions). So shun the abomination (worshipping) of idol, and shun lying speech (false statements) -

ذلك ومن يعظم حرمات الله فهو خير له عند ربه ۗ وأحلت لكم الأنعام إلا ما يتلى عليكم ۖ فاجتنبوا الرجس من الأوثان واجتنبوا قول الزور

ইহাই বিধান এবং কেহ কর্তৃক নির্ধারিত পবিত্র অনুষ্ঠানগুলির সম্মান করিলে তাহার প্রতিপালকের নিকট তাহার জন্য ইহাই উত্তম। তোমাদের জন্য হালাল করা হইয়াছে গবাদিপশু জন্তু - এইগুলি ব্যতীত যাহা তোমাদেরকে শোনান হইয়াছে। সুতরাং তোমরা বর্জন কর মূর্তিপূজার অপবিত্রতা এবং দূরে থাক মিথ্যা কথন হইতে,
Hunafa' Lillah (i.e. worshiping none but Allah), not associating partners (in worship) unto Him; and whoever assigns partners to Allah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place.

حنفاء لله غير مشركين به ۚ ومن يشرك بالله فكأنما خر من السماء فتخطفه الطير أو تهوي به الريح في مكان سحيق

র প্রতি একনিষ্ঠ হইয়া এবং তাঁহার কোন শরীক না করিয়া ; এবং যে কেহ র শরীক করে সে যেন আকাশ হইতে পড়িল, অতঃপর পাখি তাহাকে ছোঁ মারিয়া লইয়া গেল, কিংবা বায়ু তাহাকে উড়াইয়া লইয়া গিয়া এক দূরবর্তী স্থানে নিক্ষেপ করিল।
Thus it is [what has been mentioned in the above said Verses (27, 28, 29, 30, 31) is an obligation that mankind owes to Allah] and whosoever honours the Symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the hearts.
In them (cattle offered for sacrifice) are benefits for you for an appointed term, and afterwards they are brought for sacrifice unto the ancient House (the Haram - sacred territory of Makkah).

لكم فيها منافع إلى أجل مسمى ثم محلها إلى البيت العتيق

এই সমস্ত আন‘আমে তোমাদের জন্য নানাবিধ উপকার রহিয়াছে এক নির্দিষ্ট কালের জন্য; অতঃপর উহাদের কুরবানীর স্থান প্রাচীন গৃহের নিকট।
And for every nation We have appointed religious ceremonies, that they may mention the Name of Allah over the beast of cattle that He has given them for food. And your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God - Allah), so you must submit to Him Alone (in Islam). And (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) give glad tidings to the Mukhbitun (those who obey Allah with humility and are humble from among the true believers of Islamic Monotheism),

ولكل أمة جعلنا منسكا ليذكروا اسم الله على ما رزقهم من بهيمة الأنعام ۗ فإلهكم إله واحد فله أسلموا ۗ وبشر المخبتين

আমি প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য কুরবানীর নিয়ম করিয়া দিয়াছি; তিনি তাহাদেরকে জীবনোপকরণস্বরূপ যে সকল চতুষ্পদ জন্তু দিয়াছেন, সেগুলির উপর যেন তাহারা র নাম উচ্চারণ করে। তোমাদের ইলাহ্ এক ইলাহ্, সুতরাং তাহারই নিকট আত্মসমর্পণ কর এবং সুসংবাদ দাও বিনীতগণকে -
Whose hearts are filled with fear when Allah is mentioned and As-Sabirun [who patiently bear whatever may befall them (of calamities)]; and who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who spend (in Allah's Cause) out of what We have provided them.

الذين إذا ذكر الله وجلت قلوبهم والصابرين على ما أصابهم والمقيمي الصلاة ومما رزقناهم ينفقون

যাহাদের হৃদয় ভয়ে কম্পিত হয় র নাম স্মরণ করা হইলে, যাহারা তাহাদের বিপদ - আপদে ধৈর্য ধারণ করে এবং কায়েম করে এবং আমি তাহাদেরকে যে রিযিক দিয়াছি তাহা হইতে ব্যয় করে।
And the Budn (cows, oxen, or camels driven to be offered as sacrifices by the pilgrims at the sanctuary of Makkah) We have made them for you as among the Symbols of Allah, wherein you have much good. So mention the Name of Allah over them when they are drawn up in lines (for sacrifice). Then, when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat thereof, and feed the poor who does not ask (men), and the beggar who asks (men). Thus have We made them subject to you that you may be grateful.

والبدن جعلناها لكم من شعائر الله لكم فيها خير ۖ فاذكروا اسم الله عليها صواف ۖ فإذا وجبت جنوبها فكلوا منها وأطعموا القانع والمعتر ۚ كذلك سخرناها لكم لعلكم تشكرون

এবং উষ্ট্রকে করিয়াছি র নিদর্শনগুলির অন্যতম; তোমাদের জন্য উহাতে মঙ্গল রহিয়াছে। সুতরাং সারিবদ্ধভাবে দণ্ডায়মান অবস্থায় উহাদের উপর তোমরা র নাম উচ্চারণ কর। যখন উহারা কাত হইয়া পড়িয়া যায় তখন তোমরা উহা হইতে আহার কর এবং আহার করাও ধৈর্যশীল অভাবগ্রস্তকে ও যাচ্ঞাকারী অভাবগ্রস্তকে ; এইভাবে আমি উহাদেরকে তোমাদের অধীন করিয়া দিয়াছি যাহাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর।
It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. Thus have We made them subject to you that you may magnify Allah for His Guidance to you. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to the Muhsinun (doers of good).

لن ينال الله لحومها ولا دماؤها ولكن يناله التقوى منكم ۚ كذلك سخرها لكم لتكبروا الله على ما هداكم ۗ وبشر المحسنين

কখনই র নিকট পৌঁছায় না উহাদের গোশত্ এবং রক্ত, বরং পৌঁছায় তোমাদের তাক্ওয়া। এইভাবে তিনি ইহাদেরকে তোমাদের অধীন করিয়া দিয়াছেন যাহাতে তোমরা র শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব ঘোষণা কর এইজন্য যে, তিনি তোমাদেরকে পথপ্রদর্শন করিয়াছেন; সুতরাং তুমি সুসংবাদ দাও সৎকর্মপরায়ণ - দেরকে।
Permission to fight (against disbelievers) is given to those (believers) who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is Able to give them (believers) victory -
Arabic
أذن للذين يقاتلون بأنهم ظلموا ۚ وإن الله على نصرهم لقدير

যুদ্ধের অনুমতি দেওয়া হইল তাহাদেরকে যাহারা আক্রান্ত হইয়াছে; কারণ তাহাদের প্রতি অত্যাচার করা হইয়াছে। নিশ্চয়ই তাহাদেরকে সাহায্য করিতে সম্যক সক্ষম;
Those who have been expelled from their homes unjustly only because they said: "Our Lord is Allah." For had it not been that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the Name of Allah is mentioned much would surely have been pulled down. Verily, Allah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.

الذين أخرجوا من ديارهم بغير حق إلا أن يقولوا ربنا الله ۗ ولولا دفع الله الناس بعضهم ببعض لهدمت صوامع وبيع وصلوات ومساجد يذكر فيها اسم الله كثيرا ۗ ولينصرن الله من ينصره ۗ إن الله لقوي عزيز

তাহাদেরকে তাহাদের ঘর - বাড়ি হইতে অন্যায়ভাবে বহিষ্কার করা হইয়াছে শুধু এই কারণে যে, তাহারা বলে, ‘আমাদের প্রতিপালক ।’ যদি মানব জাতির এক দলকে অন্য দল দ্বারা প্রতিহত না করিতেন, তাহা হইলে বিধ্বস্ত হইয়া যাইত খ্রিস্টান সংসারবিরাগীদের উপাসনাস্থান, গির্জা, ইয়াহূদীদের উপাসনালয় এবং মসজিদসমূহ - যাহাতে অধিক স্মরণ করা হয় র নাম। নিশ্চয়ই তাহাকে সাহায্য করেন যে তাঁহাকে সাহায্য করে। নিশ্চয়ই শক্তিমান, পরাক্রমশালী।
Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) enjoin Iqamat-as-Salat [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakat and they enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur'an as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allah rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures).

الذين إن مكناهم في الأرض أقاموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وأمروا بالمعروف ونهوا عن المنكر ۗ ولله عاقبة الأمور

وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ
Hilali & Muhsin Khan
And the dwellers of Madyan (Midian); and belied was Musa (Moses). But I granted respite to the disbelievers for a while, then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My punishment (against their wrong-doing)!

وأصحاب مدين ۖ وكذب موسى فأمليت للكافرين ثم أخذتهم ۖ فكيف كان نكير

এবং মাদ্ইয়ানবাসীরা আর অস্বীকার করা হইয়াছিল মূসাকেও। আমি কাফিরদেরকে অবকাশ দিয়াছিলাম, অতঃপর তাহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিয়াছিলাম। অতএব কেমন ছিল শাস্তি!
And many a township did We destroy while it was given to wrong-doing, so that it lies in ruins (up to this day), and (many) a deserted well and lofty castle!

فكأين من قرية أهلكناها وهي ظالمة فهي خاوية على عروشها وبئر معطلة وقصر مشيد

আমি ধ্বংস করিয়াছি কত জনপদ যেইগুলির বাসিন্দা ছিল । এইসব জনপদ তাহাদের ঘরের ছাদসহ ধ্বংসস্তূপে পরিণত হইয়াছিল এবং কত কূপ পরিত্যক্ত হইয়াছিল ও কত সুদৃঢ় প্রাসাদও।
Have they not travelled through the land, and have they hearts wherewith to understand and ears wherewith to hear? Verily, it is not the eyes that grow blind, but it is the hearts which are in the breasts that grow blind.

أفلم يسيروا في الأرض فتكون لهم قلوب يعقلون بها أو آذان يسمعون بها ۖ فإنها لا تعمى الأبصار ولكن تعمى القلوب التي في الصدور

তাহারা কি দেশ ভ্রমণ করে নাই? তাহা হইলে তাহারা জ্ঞানবুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন হৃদয় ও শ্রুতিশক্তিসম্পন্ন শ্রবণের অধিকারী হইতে পারিত। বস্তুত চক্ষু তো অন্ধ নয়, বরং অন্ধ হইতেছে বক্ষস্থিত হৃদয়।
And they ask you to hasten on the torment! And Allah fails not His Promise. And verily, a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you reckon.

ويستعجلونك بالعذاب ولن يخلف الله وعده ۚ وإن يوما عند ربك كألف سنة مما تعدون

তাহারা তোমাকে শাস্তি ত্বরান্বিত করিতে বলে, অথচ তাহার প্রতিশ্রুতি কখনও ভঙ্গ করেন না। তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট একদিন তোমাদের গণনার সহস্র বৎসরের সমান;
And many a township did I give respite while it was given to wrong-doing. Then (in the end) I seized it (with punishment). And to Me is the (final) return (of all).

وكأين من قرية أمليت لها وهي ظالمة ثم أخذتها وإلي المصير

এবং আমি অবকাশ দিয়াছি কত জনপদকে যখন উহারা ছিল ; অতঃপর উহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিয়াছি এবং প্রত্যাবর্তন আমারই নিকট।
So those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them is forgiveness and Rizqun Karim (generous provision, i.e. Paradise).

فالذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات لهم مغفرة ورزق كريم

সুতরাং যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে তাহাদের জন্য আছে ক্ষমা ও সম্মানজনক জীবিকা;
But those who strive against Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), to frustrate them, they will be dwellers of the Hell-fire.

والذين سعوا في آياتنا معاجزين أولئك أصحاب الجحيم

এবং যাহারা আমার আয়াতকে ব্যর্থ করিবার চেষ্টা করে তাহারাই হইবে জাহান্নামের অধিবাসী।
Never did We send a Messenger or a Prophet before you but when he did recite the revelation or narrated or spoke, Shaitan (Satan) threw (some falsehood) in it. But Allah abolishes that which Shaitan (Satan) throws in. Then Allah establishes His Revelations. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise:

وما أرسلنا من قبلك من رسول ولا نبي إلا إذا تمنى ألقى الشيطان في أمنيته فينسخ الله ما يلقي الشيطان ثم يحكم الله آياته ۗ والله عليم حكيم

আমি তোমার পূর্বে যে সমস্ত রাসূল কিংবা নবী প্রেরণ করিয়াছি তাহাদের কেহ যখনই কিছু আকাঙ্খা করিয়াছে, তখনই শয়তান তাহার আকাঙ্খায় কিছু প্রক্ষিপ্ত করিয়াছে, কিন্তু শয়তান যাহা প্রক্ষিপ্ত করে তাহা বিদূরিত করেন। অতঃপর তাঁহার আয়াতসমূহকে সু - প্রতষ্ঠিতি করেন এবং সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়;
That He (Allah) may make what is thrown in by Shaitan (Satan) a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy and disbelief) and whose hearts are hardened. And certainly, the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) are in an opposition far-off (from the truth against Allah's Messenger and the believers).

ليجعل ما يلقي الشيطان فتنة للذين في قلوبهم مرض والقاسية قلوبهم ۗ وإن الظالمين لفي شقاق بعيد

ইহা এইজন্য যে, শয়তান যাহা প্রক্ষিপ্ত করে তিনি উহাকে পরীক্ষাস্বরূপ করেন তাহাদের জন্য যাহাদের অন্তরে ব্যাধি রহিয়াছে ও যাহারা পাষাণ হৃদয়। নিশ্চয়ই জালিমরা দুস্তর মতভেদে রহিয়াছে।
And that those who have been given knowledge may know that it (this Qur'an) is the truth from your Lord, so that they may believe therein, and their hearts may submit to it with humility. And verily, Allah is the Guide of those who believe, to the Straight Path.

وليعلم الذين أوتوا العلم أنه الحق من ربك فيؤمنوا به فتخبت له قلوبهم ۗ وإن الله لهاد الذين آمنوا إلى صراط مستقيم

এবং এইজন্যও যে, যাহাদেরকে জ্ঞান দেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহারা যেন জানিতে পারে যে, ইহা তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে প্রেরিত সত্য; অতঃপর তাহারা যেন উহাতে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে এবং তাহাদের অন্তর যেন উহার প্রতি অনুগত হয়। যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে তাহাদেরকে অবশ্যই সরল পথে পরিচালিত করেন।
And those who disbelieved will not cease to be in doubt about it (this Qur'an) until the Hour comes suddenly upon them, or there comes to them the torment of the Day after which there will be no night (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).

ولا يزال الذين كفروا في مرية منه حتى تأتيهم الساعة بغتة أو يأتيهم عذاب يوم عقيم

যাহারা করিয়াছে তাহারা উহাতে সন্দেহ পোষণ হইতে বিরত হইবে না, যতক্ষণ না উহাদের নিকট কিয়ামত আসিয়া পড়িবে আকস্মিকভাবে, অথবা আসিয়া পড়িবে এক বন্ধ্যা দিনের শাস্তি।
The sovereignty on that Day will be that of Allah (the One Who has no partners). He will judge between them. So those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and did righteous good deeds will be in Gardens of delight (Paradise).

الملك يومئذ لله يحكم بينهم ۚ فالذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات في جنات النعيم

সেই দিন রই আধিপত্য; তিনিই তাহাদের বিচার করিবেন। সুতরাং যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে তাহারা অবস্থান করিবে সুখদ কাননে।
Those who emigrated in the Cause of Allah and after that were killed or died, surely, Allah will provide a good provision for them. And verily, it is Allah Who indeed is the Best of those who make provision.

والذين هاجروا في سبيل الله ثم قتلوا أو ماتوا ليرزقنهم الله رزقا حسنا ۚ وإن الله لهو خير الرازقين

এবং যাহারা হিজরত করিয়াছে র পথে, অতঃপর নিহত হইয়াছে অথবা মারা গিয়াছে তাহাদেরকে অবশ্যই উৎকৃষ্ট জীবিকা দান করিবেন; আর নিশ্চয়ই , তিনি তো সর্বোৎকৃষ্ট রিযিকদাতা।
That is so. And whoever has retaliated with the like of that which he was made to suffer, and then has again been wronged, Allah will surely help him. Verily Allah indeed is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.

۞ ذلك ومن عاقب بمثل ما عوقب به ثم بغي عليه لينصرنه الله ۗ إن الله لعفو غفور

ইহাই হইয়া থাকে, কোন ব্যক্তি নিপীড়িত হইয়া তুল্য প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করিলে ও পুনরায় সে অত্যাচারিত হইলে তাহাকে অবশ্যই সাহায্য করিবেন ; নিশ্চয়ই পাপ মোচনকারী, ক্ষমাশীল।
That is because Allah - He is the Truth (the only True God of all that exists, Who has no partners or rivals with Him), and what they (the polytheists) invoke besides Him, it is Batil (falsehood). And verily, Allah - He is the Most High, the Most Great.

ذلك بأن الله هو الحق وأن ما يدعون من دونه هو الباطل وأن الله هو العلي الكبير

See you not that Allah sends down water (rain) from the sky, and then the earth becomes green? Verily, Allah is the Most Kind and Courteous, Well-Acquainted with all things.

ألم تر أن الله أنزل من السماء ماء فتصبح الأرض مخضرة ۗ إن الله لطيف خبير

তুমি কি লক্ষ্য কর না যে, বারি বর্ষণ করেন আকাশ হইতে যাহাতে সবুজ শ্যামল হইয়া উঠে পৃথিবী? নিশ্চয়ই সম্যক সূক্ষ্মদর্শী, পরিজ্ঞাত।
See you not that Allah has subjected to you (mankind) all that is on the earth, and the ships that sail through the sea by His Command? He withholds the heaven from falling on the earth except by His Leave. Verily, Allah is, for mankind, Full of Kindness, Most Merciful.

ألم تر أن الله سخر لكم ما في الأرض والفلك تجري في البحر بأمره ويمسك السماء أن تقع على الأرض إلا بإذنه ۗ إن الله بالناس لرءوف رحيم

তুমি কি লক্ষ্য কর না যে, তোমাদের কল্যাণে নিয়োজিত করিয়াছেন পৃথিবীতে যাহা কিছু আছে তৎসমুদয়কে এবং তাঁহার নির্দেশে সমুদ্রে বিচরণশীল নৌযানসমূহকে? আর তিনিই আকাশকে স্থির রাখেন যাহাতে উহা পতিত না হয় পৃথিবীর উপর তাঁহার অনুমতি ব্যতীত। নিশ্চয়ই মানুষের প্রতি দয়ার্দ্র, পরম দয়ালু।
It is He, Who gave you life, and then will cause you to die, and will again give you life (on the Day of Resurrection). Verily man is indeed an ingrate.

وهو الذي أحياكم ثم يميتكم ثم يحييكم ۗ إن الإنسان لكفور

এবং তিনিই তোমাদেরকে জীবন দান করিয়াছেন ; অতঃপর তিনিই তোমাদের মৃত্যু ঘটাইবেন, পুনরায় তোমাদেরকে জীবন দান করিবেন। মানুষ তো অতি মাত্রায় অকৃতজ্ঞ।
For every nation We have ordained religious ceremonies [e.g. slaughtering of the cattle during the three days of stay at Mina (Makkah) during the Hajj (pilgrimage)] which they must follow; so let them (the pagans) not dispute with you on the matter (i.e. to eat of the cattle which you slaughter, and not to eat of the cattle which Allah kills by its natural death), but invite them to your Lord. Verily you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) indeed are on the (true) straight guidance (i.e. the true religion of Islamic Monotheism).

لكل أمة جعلنا منسكا هم ناسكوه ۖ فلا ينازعنك في الأمر ۚ وادع إلى ربك ۖ إنك لعلى هدى مستقيم

আমি প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য নির্ধারিত করিয়া দিয়াছি ‘ইবাদত পদ্ধতি - যাহা উহারা অনুসরণ করে। সুতরাং উহারা যেন তোমার সঙ্গে বিতর্ক না করে এই ব্যাপারে। তুমি উহাদেরকে তোমার প্রতিপালকের দিকে আহ্বান কর, তুমি তো সরল পথেই প্রতিষ্ঠিত।
Know you not that Allah knows all that is in the heaven and on the earth? Verily, it is (all) in the Book (Al-Lauh-al-Mahfuz). Verily that is easy for Allah.

ألم تعلم أن الله يعلم ما في السماء والأرض ۗ إن ذلك في كتاب ۚ إن ذلك على الله يسير

তুমি কি জান না যে, আকাশ ও পৃথিবীতে যাহা কিছু রহিয়াছে তাহা জানেন ? এই সকলই আছে এক কিতাবে ; নিশ্চয়ই ইহা র নিকট সহজ।
And they worship besides Allah others for which He has sent down no authority, and of which they have no knowledge; and for the Zalimun (wrong-doers, polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) there is no helper.

ويعبدون من دون الله ما لم ينزل به سلطانا وما ليس لهم به علم ۗ وما للظالمين من نصير

এবং উহারা ‘ইবাদত করে র পরিবর্তে এমন কিছুর যাহার সম্পর্কে তিনি কোন দলীল প্রেরণ করেন নাই এবং যাহার সম্বন্ধে তাহাদের কোন জ্ঞান নাই। আর জালিমদের কোন সাহায্যকারী নাই।
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, you will notice a denial on the faces of the disbelievers! They are nearly ready to attack with violence those who recite Our Verses to them. Say: "Shall I tell you of something worse than that? The Fire (of Hell) which Allah has promised to those who disbelieved, and worst indeed is that destination!"

وإذا تتلى عليهم آياتنا بينات تعرف في وجوه الذين كفروا المنكر ۖ يكادون يسطون بالذين يتلون عليهم آياتنا ۗ قل أفأنبئكم بشر من ذلكم ۗ النار وعدها الله الذين كفروا ۖ وبئس المصير

এবং উহাদের নিকট আমার সুস্পষ্ট আয়াতসমূহ তিলাওয়াত করা হইলে তুমি কাফিরদের মুখমণ্ডলে অসন্তোষ লক্ষ্য করিবে। যাহারা উহাদের নিকট আমার আয়াত তিলাওয়াত করে তাহাদেরকে উহারা আক্রমণ করিতে উদ্যত হয়। বল, ‘তবে কি আমি তোমাদেরকে ইহা অপেক্ষা মন্দ কিছুর সংবাদ দিব? - ইহা আগুন। এই বিষয়ে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়াছেন কাফিরদেরকে এবং ইহা কত নিকৃষ্ট প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল।’
O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatches away a thing from them, they will have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought.

يا أيها الناس ضرب مثل فاستمعوا له ۚ إن الذين تدعون من دون الله لن يخلقوا ذبابا ولو اجتمعوا له ۖ وإن يسلبهم الذباب شيئا لا يستنقذوه منه ۚ ضعف الطالب والمطلوب

হে মানুষ ! একটি উপমা দেওয়া হইতেছে, মনোযোগ সহকারে উহা শ্রবণ কর : তোমরা র পরিবর্তে যাহাদেরকে ডাক তাহারা তো কখনও একটি মাছিও সৃষ্টি করিতে পারিবে না, এই উদ্দেশ্যে তাহারা সকলে একত্র হইলেও। এবং মাছি যদি কিছু ছিনাইয়া লইয়া যায় তাহাদের নিকট হইতে, ইহাও তাহারা উহার নিকট হইতে উদ্ধার করিতে পারিবে না। অন্বেষক ও অন্বেষিত কতই দুর্বল;
And strive hard in Allah's Cause as you ought to strive (with sincerity and with all your efforts that His Name should be superior). He has chosen you (to convey His Message of Islamic Monotheism to mankind by inviting them to His religion of Islam), and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship: it is the religion of your father Ibrahim (Abraham) (Islamic Monotheism). It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Qur'an), that the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), give Zakat and hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs]. He is your Maula (Patron, Lord), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord) and what an Excellent Helper!

وجاهدوا في الله حق جهاده ۚ هو اجتباكم وما جعل عليكم في الدين من حرج ۚ ملة أبيكم إبراهيم ۚ هو سماكم المسلمين من قبل وفي هذا ليكون الرسول شهيدا عليكم وتكونوا شهداء على الناس ۚ فأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة واعتصموا بالله هو مولاكم ۖ فنعم المولى ونعم النصير
