Chapter 42, 53 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Ha-Mim.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم حم
হা - মীম।
'Ain-Sin-Qaf. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
عسق
‘আইন - সীন - কাফ।
Likewise Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise sends Revelation to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) as (He sent Revelation to) those before you.
كذلك يوحي إليك وإلى الذين من قبلك الله العزيز الحكيم
এইভাবেই তোমার প্রতি এবং তোমার পূর্ববর্তীদের প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ করেন পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময় ।
To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.
له ما في السماوات وما في الأرض ۖ وهو العلي العظيم
আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীতে যাহা কিছু আছে তাহা তাঁহারই। তিনি সম্মুন্নত, মহান।
Nearly the heavens might be rent asunder from above them (by His Majesty): and the angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth. Verily, Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
تكاد السماوات يتفطرن من فوقهن ۚ والملائكة يسبحون بحمد ربهم ويستغفرون لمن في الأرض ۗ ألا إن الله هو الغفور الرحيم
আকাশমণ্ডলী ঊর্ধ্বদেশ হইতে ভাঙ্গিয়া পড়িবার উপক্রম হয় এবং ফিরিশ্তাগণ তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের সপ্রশংস পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করে এবং মর্ত্যবাসীদের জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করে। জানিয়া রাখ, , তিনি তো ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
And as for those who take as Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, lords, gods, protectors) others besides Him [i.e. they take false deities other than Allah as protectors, and they worship them] - Allah is Hafiz (Protector, Watcher) over them (i.e. takes care of their deeds and will recompense them), and you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them (to protect their deeds).
والذين اتخذوا من دونه أولياء الله حفيظ عليهم وما أنت عليهم بوكيل
যাহারা র পরিবর্তে অপরকে অভিভাবকরূপে গ্রহণ করে, তাহাদের প্রতি সম্যক দৃষ্টি রাখেন। তুমি তাহাদের কর্মবিধায়ক নও।
And thus We have revealed to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) a Qur'an in Arabic that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makkah) and all around it, and warn (them) of the Day of Assembling of which there is no doubt: when a party will be in Paradise (those who believed in Allah and followed what Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم brought them) and a party in the blazing Fire (Hell) (those who disbelieved in Allah and followed not what Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم brought them).
وكذلك أوحينا إليك قرآنا عربيا لتنذر أم القرى ومن حولها وتنذر يوم الجمع لا ريب فيه ۚ فريق في الجنة وفريق في السعير
এইভাবে আমি তোমার প্রতি কুরআন অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছি আরবী ভাষায়, যাহাতে তুমি সতর্ক করিতে পার মক্কা ও উহার চতুর্দিকের জনগণকে এবং সতর্ক করিতে পার কিয়ামত দিবস সম্পর্কে, যাহাতে কোন সন্দেহ নাই। সেদিন একদল জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করিবে এবং একদল জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ করিবে।
And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) will have neither a Wali (protector or guardian) nor a helper.
ولو شاء الله لجعلهم أمة واحدة ولكن يدخل من يشاء في رحمته ۚ والظالمون ما لهم من ولي ولا نصير
ইচ্ছা করিলে মানুষকে একই উম্মত করিতে পারিতেন; বস্তুত তিনি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তাহাকে স্বীয় অনুগ্রহের অধিকারী করেন; আর জালিমরা, উহাদের কোন অভিভাবক নাই, কোন সাহায্যকারীও নাই।
Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, lords, gods) besides Him? But Allah - He Alone is the Wali (Lord, God, Protector). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.
أم اتخذوا من دونه أولياء ۖ فالله هو الولي وهو يحيي الموتى وهو على كل شيء قدير
উহারা কি র পরিবর্তে অপরকে অভিভাবকরূপে গ্রহণ করিয়াছে, কিন্তু , অভিভাবক তো তিনিই, এবং তিনি মৃতকে জীবিত করেন। তিনি সর্ববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge). (And say O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم to these polytheists:) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him I turn (in all of my affairs and) in repentance.
وما اختلفتم فيه من شيء فحكمه إلى الله ۚ ذلكم الله ربي عليه توكلت وإليه أنيب
তোমরা যে বিষয়েই মতভেদ কর না কেন - উহার মীমাংসা তো রই নিকট। তিনিই - আমার পালনর্কতা; তাঁহারই উপর আমি নির্ভর করি আর তাঁহারই অভিমুখী আমি।
The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like Him; and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.
فاطر السماوات والأرض ۚ جعل لكم من أنفسكم أزواجا ومن الأنعام أزواجا ۖ يذرؤكم فيه ۚ ليس كمثله شيء ۖ وهو السميع البصير
তিনি আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টিকর্তা, তিনি তোমাদের মধ্য হইতে তোমাদের জোড়া সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন এবং আন‘আমের মধ্য হইতে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন উহাদের জোড়া। এইভাবে তিনি তোমাদের বংশবিস্তার করেন; কোন কিছুই তাঁহার সদৃশ নয়, তিনি সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বদ্রষ্টা।
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He enlarges provision for whom He wills, and straitens (it for whom He wills). Verily He is the All-Knower of everything.
له مقاليد السماوات والأرض ۖ يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر ۚ إنه بكل شيء عليم
আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর কুঞ্জি তাঁহারই নিকট। তিনি যাহার জন্য ইচ্ছা তাহার রিযিক বর্ধিত করেন এবং সংকুচিত করেন। তিনি সর্ববিষয়ে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islamic Monotheism) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have revealed to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and 'Îsa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion). Intolerable for the Mushrikun, is that (Islamic Monotheism) to which you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience.
۞ شرع لكم من الدين ما وصى به نوحا والذي أوحينا إليك وما وصينا به إبراهيم وموسى وعيسى ۖ أن أقيموا الدين ولا تتفرقوا فيه ۚ كبر على المشركين ما تدعوهم إليه ۚ الله يجتبي إليه من يشاء ويهدي إليه من ينيب
তিনি তোমাদের জন্য বিধিবদ্ধ করিয়াছেন দীন যাহার নির্দেশ দিয়াছিলেন তিনি নূহ্কে, আর যাহা আমি ওহী করিয়াছি তোমাকে এবং যাহার নির্দেশ দিয়াছিলাম ইব্রাহীম, মূসা ও ঈসাকে, এই বলিয়া যে, তোমরা দীনকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত কর এবং উহাতে মতভেদ করিও না। তুমি মুশরিকদেরকে যাহার প্রতি আহ্বান করিতেছ তাহা উহাদের নিকট দুর্বহ মনে হয়। যাহাকে ইচ্ছা দীনের প্রতি আকৃষ্ট করেন এবং যে তাঁহার অভিমুখী, তাহাকে দীনের দিকে পরিচালিত করেন।
And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them, through (selfish) transgression between themselves. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term, the matter would have been settled between them. And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture [i.e. the Taurah (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] after them (i.e. Jews and Christians) are in grave doubt concerning it (i.e. Allah's true religion - Islam or the Qur'an).
وما تفرقوا إلا من بعد ما جاءهم العلم بغيا بينهم ۚ ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك إلى أجل مسمى لقضي بينهم ۚ وإن الذين أورثوا الكتاب من بعدهم لفي شك منه مريب
উহাদের নিকট জ্ঞান আসিবার পর কেবল পারস্পরিক বিদ্বেষবশত উহারা নিজেদের মধ্যে মতভেদ ঘটায়। এক নির্ধারিত কাল পর্যন্ত অবকাশ সম্পর্কে তোমার প্রতিপালকের পূর্ব সিদ্ধান্ত না থাকিলে উহাদের বিষয়ে ফয়সালা হইয়া যাইত। উহাদের পর যাহারা কিতাবের উত্তরাধিকারী হইয়াছে তাহারা তো সেই সম্পর্কে বিভ্রান্তিকর সন্দেহে রহিয়াছে।
So unto this (religion of Islam alone and this Qur'an) then invite (people) (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), and stand firm [on Islamic Monotheism by performing all that is ordained by Allah (good deeds), and by abstaining from all that is forbidden by Allah (sins and evil deeds)], as you are commanded, and follow not their desires but say: "I believe in whatsoever Allah has sent down of the Book [all the holy Books, - this Qur'an and the Books of the old from the Taurat (Torah), or the Injeel (Gospel) or the Pages of Ibrahim (Abraham)] and I am commanded to do justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return."
فلذلك فادع ۖ واستقم كما أمرت ۖ ولا تتبع أهواءهم ۖ وقل آمنت بما أنزل الله من كتاب ۖ وأمرت لأعدل بينكم ۖ الله ربنا وربكم ۖ لنا أعمالنا ولكم أعمالكم ۖ لا حجة بيننا وبينكم ۖ الله يجمع بيننا ۖ وإليه المصير
সুতরাং তুমি উহার দিকে আহ্বান কর ও উহাতেই দৃঢ় প্রতিষ্ঠিত থাক যেইভাবে তুমি আদিষ্ট হইয়াছ এবং উহাদের খেয়াল - খুশির অনুসরণ করিও না। বল, ‘ যে কিতাব অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছেন আমি তাহাতে বিশ্বাস করি এবং আমি আদিষ্ট হইয়াছি তোমাদের মধ্যে ন্যায়বিচার করিতে। ই আমাদের প্রতিপালক এবং তোমাদেরও প্রতিপালক। আমাদের কর্ম আমাদের এবং তোমাদের কর্ম তোমাদের; আমাদের ও তোমাদের মধ্যে বিবাদ - বিসম্বাদ নাই। ই আমাদেরকে একত্র করিবেন এবং প্রত্যাবর্তন তাঁহারই নিকট।’
And those who dispute concerning Allah (His religion of Islamic Monotheism with which Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم has been sent), after it has been accepted (by the people), of no use is their dispute before their Lord and on them is wrath, and for them will be a severe torment.
والذين يحاجون في الله من بعد ما استجيب له حجتهم داحضة عند ربهم وعليهم غضب ولهم عذاب شديد
কে স্বীকার করিবার পর যাহারা সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে তাহাদের যুক্তি - তর্ক তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের দৃষ্টিতে অসার এবং উহারা তাঁহার ক্রোধের পাত্র এবং উহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে কঠিন শাস্তি।
It is Allah Who has sent down the Book (the Qur'an) in truth, and the Balance (i.e. to act justly). And what can make you know that perhaps the Hour is close at hand?
الله الذي أنزل الكتاب بالحق والميزان ۗ وما يدريك لعل الساعة قريب
ই অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছেন সত্যসহ কিতাব এবং তুলাদণ্ড। তুমি কি জান, সম্ভবত কিয়ামত আসন্ন?
Those who believe not therein seek to hasten it, while those who believe are fearful of it, and know that it is the very truth. Verily, those who dispute concerning the Hour are certainly in error far away.
يستعجل بها الذين لا يؤمنون بها ۖ والذين آمنوا مشفقون منها ويعلمون أنها الحق ۗ ألا إن الذين يمارون في الساعة لفي ضلال بعيد
যাহারা ইহা বিশ্বাস করে না তাহারাই ইহা ত্বরান্বিত করিতে চায়। আর যাহারা তাহারা উহাকে ভয় করে এবং জানে উহাই সত্য। জানিয়া রাখ, কিয়ামত সম্পর্কে যাহারা বাক - বিতণ্ডা করে তাহারা ঘোর বিভ্রান্তিতে রহিয়াছে।
Allah is very Gracious and Kind to His slaves. He gives provisions to whom He wills. And He is the All-Strong, the All-Mighty.
الله لطيف بعباده يرزق من يشاء ۖ وهو القوي العزيز
তাঁহার বান্দাদের প্রতি অতি দয়ালু; তিনি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা রিযিক দান করেন। তিনি প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী।
Whosoever desires (by his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (by his deeds), We give him thereof (what is decreed for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.
من كان يريد حرث الآخرة نزد له في حرثه ۖ ومن كان يريد حرث الدنيا نؤته منها وما له في الآخرة من نصيب
যে কেহ আখিরাতের ফসল কামনা করে তাহার জন্য আমি তাহার ফসল বর্ধিত করিয়া দেই এবং যে কেহ দুনিয়ার ফসল কামনা করে আমি তাহাকে উহারই কিছু দেই, আখিরাতে তাহার জন্য কিছুই থাকিবে না।
Or have they partners with Allah (false gods) who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not ordained? And had it not been for a decisive Word (gone forth already), the matter would have been judged between them. And verily, for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) there is a painful torment.
أم لهم شركاء شرعوا لهم من الدين ما لم يأذن به الله ۚ ولولا كلمة الفصل لقضي بينهم ۗ وإن الظالمين لهم عذاب أليم
ইহাদের কি এমন কতকগুলি দেবতা আছে যাহারা ইহাদের জন্য বিধান দিয়াছে এমন দীনের, যাহার অনুমতি দেন নাই? ফয়সালার ঘোষণা না থাকিলে ইহাদের বিষয়ে তো সিদ্ধান্ত হইয়াই যাইত। নিশ্চয়ই জালিমদের জন্য রহিয়াছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
You will see (on the Day of Resurrection), the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) fearful of that which they have earned, and it (Allah's Torment) will surely befall them. But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds (will be) in the flowering meadows of the Gardens (Paradise). They shall have whatsoever they desire with their Lord. That is the supreme Grace, (Paradise).
ترى الظالمين مشفقين مما كسبوا وهو واقع بهم ۗ والذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات في روضات الجنات ۖ لهم ما يشاءون عند ربهم ۚ ذلك هو الفضل الكبير
তুমি জালিমদেরকে ভীত - সন্ত্রস্ত দেখিবে উহাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য; আর ইহা আপতিত হইবেই উহাদের উপর। যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে তাহারা থাকিবে জান্নাতের মনোরম স্থানে। তাহারা যাহা কিছু চাহিবে তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট তাহাই পাইবে। ইহাই তো মহাঅনুগ্রহ।
That is (the Paradise) whereof Allah gives glad tidings to His slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds. Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم): "No reward do I ask of you for this except to be kind to me for my kinship with you." And whoever earns a good righteous deed, We shall give him an increase of good in respect thereof. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (the deeds of those who are obedient to Him).
ذلك الذي يبشر الله عباده الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات ۗ قل لا أسألكم عليه أجرا إلا المودة في القربى ۗ ومن يقترف حسنة نزد له فيها حسنا ۚ إن الله غفور شكور
এই সুসংবাদই দেন তাঁহার বান্দাদেরকে যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে। বল, ‘আমি ইহার বিনিময়ে তোমাদের নিকট হইতে আত্মীয়ের সৌহার্দ্য ব্যতীত অন্য কোন প্রতিদান চাই না।’ যে উত্তম কাজ করে আমি তাহার জন্য ইহাতে কল্যাণ বর্ধিত করি। ক্ষমাশীল, গুণগ্রাহী।
Or say they: "He has invented a lie against Allah?" If Allah willed, He could have sealed up your heart (so that you forget all that you know of the Qur'an). And Allah wipes out falsehood, and establishes the truth (Islam) by His Word (this Qur'an). Verily, He knows well what (secrets) are in the breasts (of mankind).
أم يقولون افترى على الله كذبا ۖ فإن يشإ الله يختم على قلبك ۗ ويمح الله الباطل ويحق الحق بكلماته ۚ إنه عليم بذات الصدور
উহারা কি বলে যে, সে সম্পর্কে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করিয়াছে ? যদি তাহাই হইত তবে ইচ্ছা করিলে তোমার হৃদয় মোহর করিয়া দিতেন। মিথ্যাকে মুছিয়া দেন এবং নিজ বাণী দ্বারা সত্যকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন। অন্তরে যাহা আছে সে বিষয়ে তিনি তো সবিশেষ অবহিত।
And He it is Who accepts repentance from His slaves, and forgives sins, and He knows what you do.
وهو الذي يقبل التوبة عن عباده ويعفو عن السيئات ويعلم ما تفعلون
তিনিই তাঁহার বান্দাদের তওবা কবূল করেন ও পাপ মোচন করেন এবং তোমরা যাহা কর তিনি তাহা জানেন।
And He answers (the invocation of) those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and gives them increase of His Bounty. And as for the disbelievers, theirs will be a severe torment.
ويستجيب الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات ويزيدهم من فضله ۚ والكافرون لهم عذاب شديد
তিনি ও সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের আহ্বানে সাড়া দেন এবং তাহাদের প্রতি তাঁহার অনুগ্রহ বর্ধিত করেন; কাফিরদের জন্য রহিয়াছে কঠিন শাস্তি।
And if Allah were to enlarge the provision for His slaves, they would surely rebel in the earth, but He sends down by measure as He wills. Verily! He is, in respect of His slaves, the Well-Aware, the All-Seer (of things that benefit them).
۞ ولو بسط الله الرزق لعباده لبغوا في الأرض ولكن ينزل بقدر ما يشاء ۚ إنه بعباده خبير بصير
তাঁহার সকল বান্দাকে জীবনোপকরণে প্রাচুর্য দিলে তাহারা পৃথিবীতে অবশ্যই বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টি করিত; কিন্তু তিনি তাঁহার ইচ্ছামত পরিমাণেই নাযিল করিয়া থাকেন। তিনি তাঁহার বান্দাদেরকে সম্যক জানেন ও দেখেন।
And He it is Who sends down the rain after they have despaired, and spreads His Mercy. And He is the Wali (Helper, Supporter, Protector, Lord), Worthy of all Praise.
وهو الذي ينزل الغيث من بعد ما قنطوا وينشر رحمته ۚ وهو الولي الحميد
উহারা যখন হতাশাগ্রস্ত হইয়া পড়ে তখনই তিনি বৃষ্টি প্রেরণ করেন এবং তাঁহার করুণা বিস্তার করেন। তিনিই তো অভিভাবক, প্রশংসার্হ।
And among His Ayat (proofs, evidence, lessons, signs, etc.) is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever moving (living) creatures He has dispersed in them both. And He is All-Potent over their assembling (i.e. resurrecting them on the Day of Resurrection after their death, and dispersion of their bodies) whenever He wills.
ومن آياته خلق السماوات والأرض وما بث فيهما من دابة ۚ وهو على جمعهم إذا يشاء قدير
তাঁহার অন্যতম নিদর্শন আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টি এবং এই দুইয়ের মধ্যে তিনি যে সকল জীবজন্তু ছড়াইয়া দিয়াছেন সেইগুলি। তিনি যখন ইচ্ছা তখনই উহাদেরকে সমবেত করিতে সক্ষম।
And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Qur'an Verse 35:45).
وما أصابكم من مصيبة فبما كسبت أيديكم ويعفو عن كثير
তোমাদের যে বিপদ - আপদ ঘটে তাহা তো তোমাদের কৃতকর্মেরই ফল এবং তোমাদের অনেক অপরাধ তো তিনি ক্ষমা করিয়া দেন।
And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector, helper) nor any helper.
وما أنتم بمعجزين في الأرض ۖ وما لكم من دون الله من ولي ولا نصير
তোমরা পৃথিবীতে র অভিপ্রায়কে ব্যর্থ করিতে পারিবে না এবং ব্যতীত তোমাদের কোন অভিভাবক নাই, সাহায্যকারীও নাই।
And among His Signs are the ships in the sea like mountains.
ومن آياته الجوار في البحر كالأعلام
তাঁহার অন্যতম নিদর্শন পর্বতসদৃশ সমুদ্রে চলমান নৌযানসমূহ।
If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
إن يشأ يسكن الريح فيظللن رواكد على ظهره ۚ إن في ذلك لآيات لكل صبار شكور
তিনি ইচ্ছা করিলে বায়ুকে স্তব্ধ করিয়া দিতে পারেন; ফলে নৌযানসমূহ নিশ্চল হইয়া পড়িবে সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠে। নিশ্চয়ই ইহাতে নিদর্শন রহিয়াছ ধৈর্যশীল ও কৃতজ্ঞ ব্যক্তির জন্য।
Or He may destroy them (by shipwreck) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much.
أو يوبقهن بما كسبوا ويعف عن كثير
অথবা তিনি তাহাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য সেইগুলিকে বিধ্বস্ত করিয়া দিতে পারেন এবং অনেককে তিনি ক্ষমাও করেন;
And those who dispute (polytheists with Our Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment) [Tafsir At-Tabari].
ويعلم الذين يجادلون في آياتنا ما لهم من محيص
আর আমার নিদর্শন সম্পর্কে যাহারা বিতর্ক করে তাহারা যেন জানিতে পারে যে, তাহাদের কোন নিষ্কৃতি নাই।
So whatever you have been given is but (a passing) enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs).
فما أوتيتم من شيء فمتاع الحياة الدنيا ۖ وما عند الله خير وأبقى للذين آمنوا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون
বস্তুত তোমাদেরকে যাহা কিছু দেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহা পার্থিব জীবনের ভোগ, কিন্তু র নিকট যাহা আছে তাহা উত্তম ও স্থায়ী তাহাদের জন্য, যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের উপর নির্ভর করে,
And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse), and when they are angry, forgive.
والذين يجتنبون كبائر الإثم والفواحش وإذا ما غضبوا هم يغفرون
যাহারা গুরুতর পাপ ও অশ্লীল কার্য হইতে বাঁচিয়া থাকে এবং ক্রোধাবিষ্ট হইলে ক্ষমা করিয়া দেয়,
And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them.
والذين استجابوا لربهم وأقاموا الصلاة وأمرهم شورى بينهم ومما رزقناهم ينفقون
যাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের আহ্বানে সাড়া দেয়, কায়েম করে, নিজেদের মধ্যে পরামর্শের মাধ্যমে নিজেদের কর্ম সম্পাদন করে এবং তাহাদেরকে আমি যে রিযিক দিয়াছি তাহা হইতে ব্যয় করে।
And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, take revenge.
والذين إذا أصابهم البغي هم ينتصرون
এবং যাহারা অত্যাচারিত হইলে প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করে।
The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof; but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is with Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers).
وجزاء سيئة سيئة مثلها ۖ فمن عفا وأصلح فأجره على الله ۚ إنه لا يحب الظالمين
মন্দের প্রতিফল অনুরূপ মন্দ এবং যে ক্ষমা করিয়া দেয় ও আপোস - নিষ্পত্তি করে তাহার পুরস্কার র নিকট আছে। জালিমদেরকে পসন্দ করেন না।
And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them.
ولمن انتصر بعد ظلمه فأولئك ما عليهم من سبيل
তবে অত্যাচারিত হইবার পর যাহারা প্রতিবিধান করে তাহাদের বিরুদ্ধে কোন ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হইবে না;
The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and rebel in the earth without justification; for such there will be a painful torment.
إنما السبيل على الذين يظلمون الناس ويبغون في الأرض بغير الحق ۚ أولئك لهم عذاب أليم
কেবল তাহাদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা অবলম্বন করা হইবে যাহারা মানুষের উপর অত্যাচার করে এবং পৃথিবীতে অন্যায়ভাবে বিদ্রোহাচরণ করিয়া বেড়ায়, উহাদের জন্য মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives, that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah.
ولمن صبر وغفر إن ذلك لمن عزم الأمور
অবশ্য যে ধৈর্য ধারণ করে এবং ক্ষমা করিয়া দেয়, উহা তো হইবে দৃঢ় সংকল্পেরই কাজ।
And whomsoever Allah sends astray, for him there is no Wali (protector, helper, guardian) after Him. And you will see the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, oppressors): when they behold the torment, they will say: "Is there any way of return (to the world)?"
ومن يضلل الله فما له من ولي من بعده ۗ وترى الظالمين لما رأوا العذاب يقولون هل إلى مرد من سبيل
যাহাকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেন তৎপর তাহার জন্য কোন অভিভাবক নাই। জালিমরা যখন শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করিবে তখন তুমি উহাদেরকে বলিতে শুনিবে, ‘প্রত্যাবর্তনের কোন উপায় আছে কি?’
And you will see them brought forward to it (Hell) made humble by disgrace, (and) looking with stealthy glance. And those who believe will say: "Verily, the losers are they who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Verily, the Zalimun [i.e. Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness and in His Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم, polytheists, wrong-doers)] will be in a lasting torment. (Tafsir At-Tabari).
وتراهم يعرضون عليها خاشعين من الذل ينظرون من طرف خفي ۗ وقال الذين آمنوا إن الخاسرين الذين خسروا أنفسهم وأهليهم يوم القيامة ۗ ألا إن الظالمين في عذاب مقيم
তুমি উহাদেরকে দেখিতে পাইবে যে, উহাদেরকে জাহান্নামের সম্মুখে উপস্থিত করা হইতেছে; তাহারা অপমানে অবনত অবস্থায় অর্ধনিমীলিত নেত্রে তাকাইতেছে। মু’মিনরা কিয়ামতের দিন বলিবে, ‘ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত তাহারাই যাহারা নিজেদের ও নিজেদের পরিজনবর্গের ক্ষতিসাধন করিয়াছে।’ জানিয়া রাখ, জালিমরা অবশ্যই ভোগ করিবে স্থায়ী শাস্তি।
And they will have no Auliya' (protectors, helpers, guardians, lords) to help them other than Allah. And he whom Allah sends astray, for him there is no way.
وما كان لهم من أولياء ينصرونهم من دون الله ۗ ومن يضلل الله فما له من سبيل
ব্যতীত উহাদেরকে সাহায্য করিবার জন্য উহাদের কোন অভিভাবক থাকিবে না এবং যাহাকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেন তাহার কােন গতি নাই।
Answer the Call of your Lord (i.e. accept the Islamic Monotheism, O mankind, and jinn) before there comes from Allah a Day which cannot be averted (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). You will have no refuge on that Day nor there will be for you any denying (of your crimes as they are all recorded in the Book of your deeds).
استجيبوا لربكم من قبل أن يأتي يوم لا مرد له من الله ۚ ما لكم من ملجإ يومئذ وما لكم من نكير
তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের আহ্বানে সাড়া দাও র পক্ষ হইতে সেই দিবস আসিবার পূর্বে, যাহা অপ্রতিরোধ্য; যেদিন তোমাদের কোন আশ্রয়স্থল থাকিবে না এবং তোমাদের জন্য উহা নিরোধ করিবার কেহ থাকিবে না।
But if they turn away (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم from the Islamic Monotheism, which you have brought to them). We have not sent you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) as a Hafiz (watcher, protector) over them (i.e. to take care of their deeds and to recompense them). Your duty is to convey (the Message). And verily, when We cause man to taste of Mercy from Us, he rejoices thereat; but when some ill befalls them because of the deeds which their hands have sent forth, then verily, man (becomes) ingrate!
فإن أعرضوا فما أرسلناك عليهم حفيظا ۖ إن عليك إلا البلاغ ۗ وإنا إذا أذقنا الإنسان منا رحمة فرح بها ۖ وإن تصبهم سيئة بما قدمت أيديهم فإن الإنسان كفور
উহারা যদি মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয়, তবে তোমাকে তো আমি ইহাদের রক্ষক করিয়া পাঠাই নাই। তোমার কাজ তো কেবল বাণী পৌঁছাইয়া দেওয়া। আমি মানুষকে যখন অনুগ্রহ আস্বাদন করাই তখন সে ইহাতে উৎফুল্ল হয় এবং যখন উহাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য উহাদের বিপদ - আপদ ঘটে তখন মানুষ হইয়া পড়ে অকৃতজ্ঞ।
To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills.
لله ملك السماوات والأرض ۚ يخلق ما يشاء ۚ يهب لمن يشاء إناثا ويهب لمن يشاء الذكور
আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর আধিপত্য রই। তিনি যাহা ইচ্ছা তাহাই সৃষ্টি করেন। তিনি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা কন্যা সন্তান দান করেন এবং যাহাকে ইচ্ছা পুত্র সন্তান দান করেন,
Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able to do all things.
أو يزوجهم ذكرانا وإناثا ۖ ويجعل من يشاء عقيما ۚ إنه عليم قدير
অথবা দান করেন পুত্র ও কন্যা উভয়ই এবং যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তাহাকে করিয়া দেন বন্ধ্যা; তিনি সর্বজ্ঞ, সর্বশক্তিমান।
It is not given to any human being that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by Revelation, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise.
۞ وما كان لبشر أن يكلمه الله إلا وحيا أو من وراء حجاب أو يرسل رسولا فيوحي بإذنه ما يشاء ۚ إنه علي حكيم
মানুষের এমন মর্যাদা নাই যে, তাহার সঙ্গে কথা বলিবেন ওহীর মাধ্যম ব্যতিরেকে, অথবা পর্দার অন্তরাল ব্যতিরেকে, অথবা এমন দূত প্রেরণ ব্যতিরেকে, যেই দূত তাঁহার অনুমতিক্রমে তিনি যাহা চাহেন তাহা ব্যক্ত করেন, তিনি সমুন্নত, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) Ruh (a Revelation, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur'an) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah's Religion of Islamic Monotheism).
وكذلك أوحينا إليك روحا من أمرنا ۚ ما كنت تدري ما الكتاب ولا الإيمان ولكن جعلناه نورا نهدي به من نشاء من عبادنا ۚ وإنك لتهدي إلى صراط مستقيم
এইভাবে আমি তোমার প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ করিয়াছি রূহ্ তথা আমার নির্দেশ; তুমি তো জানিতে না কিতাব কি এবং ঈমান কি। পক্ষান্তরে আমি ইহাকে করিয়াছি আলো যাহা দ্বারা আমি আমার বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাহাকে ইচ্ছা পথনির্দেশ করি; তুমি তো প্রদর্শন কর কেবল সরল পথ -
The Path of Allah to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Verily, all matters at the end go to Allah (for decision).
صراط الله الذي له ما في السماوات وما في الأرض ۗ ألا إلى الله تصير الأمور
সেই র পথ যিনি আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীতে যাহা কিছু আছে তাহার মালিক। জানিয়া রাখ, সকল বিষয়ের পরিণাম রই দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করে।
