In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Have We not opened your breast for you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)?
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate,
Alam nashrah laka sadraka
Chapter 94, 8 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Have We not opened your breast for you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)?
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate,
Alam nashrah laka sadraka
And removed from you your burden.
And eased thee of the burden
WawadaAAna AAanka wizraka
Which weighed down your back?
Which weighed down thy back;
Allathee anqada thahraka
And have We not raised high your fame?
And exalted thy fame ?
WarafaAAna laka thikraka
Verily, along with every hardship is relief,
But lo! with hardship goeth ease,
Fainna maAAa alAAusri yusran
Verily, along with every hardship is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs).
Lo! with hardship goeth ease;
Inna maAAa alAAusri yusran
So when you have finished (your occupation), devote yourself for Allah's worship.
So when thou art relieved, still toil
Faitha faraghta fainsab
And to your Lord (Alone) turn (all your) intentions and hopes.
And strive to please thy Lord.
