Chapter 43, 89 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
Hameem
হা-মীম।
By the manifest Book (i.e. this Qur'an that makes things clear).
Waalkitabi almubeeni
সুস্পষ্ট কিতাবের কসম!
Verily, We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions).
Inna jaAAalnahu quranan AAarabiyyan laAAallakum taAAqiloona
নিশ্চয় আমি তো একে আরবী কুরআন বানিয়েছি, যাতে তোমরা বুঝতে পার।
And verily, it (this Qur'an) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom.
Wainnahu fee ommi alkitabi ladayna laAAaliyyun hakeemun
আর নিশ্চয় তা আমার কাছে উম্মুল কিতাবে সুউচ্চ মর্যাদাসম্পন্ন, প্রজ্ঞাপূর্ণ।
Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Qur'an) from you, because you are a people Musrifun.
Afanadribu AAankumu alththikra safhan an kuntum qawman musrifeena
তোমরা সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী জাতি, এ কারণে কি আমি তোমাদের কাছ থেকে এ উপদেশবাণী সম্পূর্ণরূপে প্রত্যাহার করে নেব?
And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old.
Wakam arsalna min nabiyyin fee alawwaleena
আর পূর্ববর্তীদের মধ্যে আমি বহু নবী পাঠিয়েছিলাম।
And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him.
Wama yateehim min nabiyyin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona
আর যখনই তাদের কাছে কোন নবী এসেছে তারা তাকে নিয়ে ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রূপ করেছে।
Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these - and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them).
Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshan wamada mathalu alawwaleena
ফলে তাদের চেয়েও শক্তিতে প্রবলদেরকে আমি ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছিলাম। আর পূর্ববর্তীদের দৃষ্টান্ত অতীত হয়ে গেছে।
And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them."
Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna khalaqahunna alAAazeezu alAAaleemu
আর তুমি যদি জিজ্ঞাসা কর, আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন কে সৃষ্টি করেছেন? তারা অবশ্যই বলবে, মহাপরাক্রমশালী সর্বজ্ঞই কেবল এগুলো সৃষ্টি করেছেন।
Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way.
Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wajaAAala lakum feeha subulan laAAallakum tahtadoona
যিনি যমীনকে তোমাদের জন্য শয্যা বানিয়েছেন এবং তাতে তোমাদের জন্য বানিয়েছেন চলার পথ, যাতে তোমরা সঠিক পথ পেতে পার।
And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure, then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the graves).
Waallathee nazzala mina alssamai maan biqadarin faansharna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika tukhrajoona
আর যিনি আসমান থেকে পরিমিতভাবে পানি বর্ষণ করেন। অতঃপর আমি তা দ্বারা মৃত জনপদকে সঞ্জীবিত করি। এভাবেই তোমাদেরকে বের করা হবে।
And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride:
Waallathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha wajaAAala lakum mina alfulki waalanAAami ma tarkaboona
আর যিনি সব কিছুই জোড়া জোড়া সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তিনি তোমাদের জন্য নৌযান ও গৃহপালিত জন্তু সৃষ্টি করেছেন, যাতে তোমরা আরোহণ কর,
In order that you may mount on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts).
Litastawoo AAala thuhoorihi thumma tathkuroo niAAmata rabbikum itha istawaytum AAalayhi wataqooloo subhana allathee sakhkhara lana hatha wama kunna lahu muqrineena
যাতে তোমরা এর পিঠে স্থির থাকতে পার তারপর তোমাদের রবের অনুগ্রহ স্মরণ করবে, যখন তোমরা এর উপর স্থির হয়ে বসবে আর বলবে, ‘পবিত্র-মহান সেই সত্তা যিনি এগুলোকে আমাদের বশীভূত করে দিয়েছেন। আর আমরা এগুলোকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে সক্ষম ছিলাম না’।
And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!"
Wainna ila rabbina lamunqaliboona
আর নিশ্চয় আমরা আমাদের রবের কাছেই প্রত্যাবর্তনকারী।
Yet, they assign to some of His slaves a share with Him (by pretending that He has children, and considering them as equals or co-partners in worship with Him). Verily, man is indeed a manifest ingrate!
WajaAAaloo lahu min AAibadihi juzan inna alinsana lakafoorun mubeenun
আর তারা তাঁর বান্দাদের মধ্য থেকে তাঁর অংশ সাব্যস্ত করেছে। নিশ্চয়ই মানুষ স্পষ্ট অকৃতজ্ঞ।
Or has He taken daughters out of what He has created, and He has selected for you sons?
Ami ittakhatha mimma yakhluqu banatin waasfakum bialbaneena
তিনি কি যা সৃষ্টি করেছেন তা থেকে কন্যা সন্তান গ্রহণ করেছেন, আর তোমাদেরকে বিশিষ্ট করেছেন পুত্র সন্তান দ্বারা?
And if one of them is of the news of (the birth of a girl) that which he sets forth as a parable to the Most Gracious (Allah), his face becomes dark, and he is filled with grief!
Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bima daraba lilrrahmani mathalan thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun
আর যখন তাদের কাউকে সুসংবাদ দেয়া হয়, যা রহমানের প্রতি তারা দৃষ্টান্ত পেশ করে, তখন তার মুখমন্ডল মলিন হয়ে যায়। এমতাবস্থায় যে, সে দুঃসহ যাতনাপিষ্ট।
(Like they then for Allah) a creature who is brought up in adornments (wearing silk and gold ornaments, i.e. women), and who in dispute cannot make herself clear?
Awaman yunashshao fee alhilyati wahuwa fee alkhisami ghayru mubeenin
আর যে অলংকারে লালিত পালিত হয়; এবং বিতর্ককালে সুস্পষ্ট বক্তব্য প্রদানে অক্ষম।
And they make the angels who themselves are slaves of the Most Gracious (Allah) females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned!
WajaAAaloo almalaikata allatheena hum AAibadu alrrahmani inathan ashahidoo khalqahum satuktabu shahadatuhum wayusaloona
আর তারা গণ্য করেছে রহমানের বান্দা ফেরেশতাদেরকে নারী। তারা কি তাদের সৃষ্টি প্রত্যক্ষ করেছে? তাদের সাক্ষ্য অবশ্যই লিখে রাখা হবে এবং তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হবে।
And they said: "If it had been the Will of the Most Gracious (Allah), we should not have worshipped them (false deities)." They have no knowledge whatsoever of that. They do nothing but lie!
Waqaloo law shaa alrrahmanu ma AAabadnahum ma lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yakhrusoona
তারা আর বলে, ‘পরম করুণাময় ইচ্ছা করলে আমরা এদের ইবাদাত করতাম না’, এ বিষয়ে তাদের কোন জ্ঞান নেই। তারা শুধু মনগড়া কথা বলছে।
Or have We given them any Book before this (the Qur'an) to which they are holding fast?
Am ataynahum kitaban min qablihi fahum bihi mustamsikoona
আমি কি তাদেরকে কুরআনের পূর্বে কোন কিতাব দিয়েছি, অতঃপর তারা তা দৃঢ়ভাবে ধারণ করে আছে?
Nay! They say: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we guide ourselves by their footsteps."
Bal qaloo inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muhtadoona
বরং তারা বলে, ‘আমরা নিশ্চয় আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে এক মতাদর্শের উপর পেয়েছি, আর নিশ্চয় আমরা তাদের পদাঙ্ক অনুসরণে হিদায়াতপ্রাপ্ত হব’।
And similarly, We sent not a warner before you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) to any town (people) but the luxurious ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we will indeed follow their footsteps."
Wakathalika ma arsalna min qablika fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muqtadoona
আর এভাবেই তোমাদের পূর্বে যখনই আমি কোন জনপদে সতর্ককারী পাঠিয়েছি, তখনই সেখানকার বিলাসপ্রিয়রা বলেছে, ‘নিশ্চয় আমরা আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে এক মতাদর্শের উপর পেয়েছি এবং নিশ্চয় আমরা তাদের পদাঙ্ক অনুসরণ করব’।
(The warner) said: "Even if I bring you better guidance than that which you found your fathers following?" They said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent."
Qala awalaw jitukum biahda mimma wajadtum AAalayhi abaakum qaloo inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona
তখন সে (সতর্ককারী) বলেছে, ‘তোমরা তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে যে মতাদর্শে পেয়েছ, আমি যদি তোমাদের কাছে তার চেয়ে উৎকৃষ্ট পথে নিয়ে আসি তবুও কি’? (তোমরা তাদের অনুসরণ করবে?) তারা বলেছে, ‘নিশ্চয় তোমাদেরকে যা দিয়ে পাঠানো হয়েছে আমরা তার অস্বীকারকারী’।
So We took revenge on them, then see what was the end of those who denied (Islamic Monotheism).
Faintaqamna minhum faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena
ফলে আমি তাদের থেকে প্রতিশোধ নিলাম। অতএব দেখ, মিথ্যারোপকারীদের পরিণতি কেমন হয়েছিল?
And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father and his people: "Verily, I am innocent of what you worship,
Waith qala ibraheemu liabeehi waqawmihi innanee baraon mimma taAAbudoona
আর স্মরণ কর, যখন ইবরাহীম স্বীয় পিতা ও তার কওমকে বলেছিল, ‘তোমরা যেগুলোর ইবাদাত কর, নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের থেকে সম্পর্কমুক্ত’।
"Except Him (i.e. I worship none but Allah Alone) Who did create me; and verily He will guide me."
Illa allathee fataranee fainnahu sayahdeeni
‘তবে (তিনি ছাড়া) যিনি আমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। অতঃপর নিশ্চয় তিনি আমাকে শীঘ্রই হিদায়াত দিবেন।’
And he made it [i.e. La ilaha illallah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone)] a Word lasting among his offspring, (True Monotheism), that they may turn back (i.e. to repent to Allah or receive admonition).
WajaAAalaha kalimatan baqiyatan fee AAaqibihi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
আর এটিকে সে তার উত্তরসূরীদের মধ্যে এক চিরন্তন বাণী বানিয়ে রেখে গেল, যাতে তারা প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে পারে।
Nay, but I gave (the good things of this life) to these (polytheists) and their fathers to enjoy, till there came to them the truth (the Qur'an), and a Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) making things clear.
Bal mattaAAtu haolai waabaahum hatta jaahumu alhaqqu warasoolun mubeenun
বরং তাদের কাছে সত্য ও স্পষ্ট বর্ণনাকারী রাসূল আগমন না করা পর্যন্ত আমি তাদের এবং তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের ভোগ করার সুযোগ দিয়েছিলাম।
And when the truth (this Qur'an) came to them, they (the disbelievers in this Qur'an) said: "This is magic, and we disbelieve therein."
Walamma jaahumu alhaqqu qaloo hatha sihrun wainna bihi kafiroona
অথচ যখন সত্য তাদের কাছে আসল তখন তারা বলল, ‘এতো যাদু এবং নিশ্চয় আমরা তা অস্বীকার করছি।’
And they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Ta'if)?"
Waqaloo lawla nuzzila hatha alquranu AAala rajulin mina alqaryatayni AAatheemun
আর তারা বলল, ‘এ কুরআন কেন দুই জনপদের মধ্যকার কোন মহান ব্যক্তির উপর নাযিল করা হল না’?।
Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of your Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in this world, and We raised some of them above others in ranks, so that some may employ others in their work. But the Mercy (Paradise) of your Lord (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) is better than the (wealth of this world) which they amass.
Ahum yaqsimoona rahmata rabbika nahnu qasamna baynahum maAAeeshatahum fee alhayati alddunya warafaAAna baAAdahum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyattakhitha baAAduhum baAAdan sukhriyyan warahmatu rabbika khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona
তারা কি তোমার রবের রহমত ভাগ-বণ্টন করে? আমিই দুনিয়ার জীবনে তাদের মধ্যে তাদের জীবিকা বণ্টন করে দেই এবং তাদের একজনকে অপর জনের উপর মর্যাদায় উন্নীত করি যাতে একে অপরকে অধিনস্থ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করতে পারে। আর তারা যা সঞ্চয় করে তোমার রবের রহমত তা অপেক্ষা উৎকৃষ্ট।
And were it not that mankind would have become of one community (all disbelievers, desiring worldly life only), We would have provided for those who disbelieve in the Most Gracious (Allah), silver roofs for their houses, and elevators whereby they ascend,
Walawla an yakoona alnnasu ommatan wahidatan lajaAAalna liman yakfuru bialrrahmani libuyootihim suqufan min fiddatin wamaAAarija AAalayha yathharoona
যদি সব মানুষ একই জাতিতে পরিণত হয়ে যাওয়ার আশঙ্কা না থাকত, তবে যারা পরম করুণাময়ের প্রতি করে আমি তাদের গৃহসমূহের জন্য রৌপ্যনির্মিত ছাদ ও ঊর্ধ্বে আরোহণের সিঁড়ি তৈরী করে দিতাম।
And for their houses, doors (of silver), and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline,
Walibuyootihim abwaban wasururan AAalayha yattakioona
আর তাদের গৃহসমূহের জন্য দরজা ও পালঙ্ক, যাতে তারা হেলান দেয়।
And adornments of gold. Yet all this (i.e. the roofs, doors, stairs, elevators, thrones of their houses) would have been nothing but an enjoyment of this world. And the Hereafter with your Lord is (only) for the Muttaqun.
Wazukhrufan wain kullu thalika lamma mataAAu alhayati alddunya waalakhiratu AAinda rabbika lilmuttaqeena
আর তাদের জন্য স্বর্ণনির্মিত এর সব কয়টিই দুনিয়ার জীবনের ভোগ-সামগ্রী। আর তো তোমার রবের কাছে মুত্তাকীদের জন্য ।
And whosoever turns away blindly from the remembrance of the Most Gracious (Allah) (i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (a companion) to him.
Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun
আর যে পরম করুণাময়ের যিকির থেকে বিমুখ থাকে আমি তার জন্য এক শয়তানকে নিয়োজিত করি, ফলে সে হয়ে যায় তার সঙ্গী।
And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright!
Wainnahum layasuddoonahum AAani alssabeeli wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona
আর নিশ্চয় তারাই (শয়তান) মানুষদেরকে আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বাধা দেয়। অথচ মানুষ মনে করে তারা হিদায়াতপ্রাপ্ত।
Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" - a worst (type of) companion (indeed)!
Hatta itha jaana qala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqayni fabisa alqareenu
অবশেষে যখন সে আমার নিকট আসবে তখন সে [তার শয়তান সংগীকে উদ্দেশ্য করে] বলবে, ‘হায়, আমার ও তোমার মধ্যে যদি পূর্ব-পশ্চিমের ব্যবধান থাকত’ সুতরাং কতইনা নিকৃষ্ট সে সঙ্গী!
It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin ) in the punishment.
Walan yanfaAAakumu alyawma ith thalamtum annakum fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona
আর আজ তা [তোমাদের এই অনুতাপ] তোমাদের কোন উপকারেই আসবে না। যেহেতু তোমরা যুলম করেছিলে। নিশ্চয় তোমরা আযাবে পরস্পর অংশীদার হয়ে থাকবে।
Can you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error?
Afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma aw tahdee alAAumya waman kana fee dalalin mubeenin
তুমি কি বধিরকে শুনাতে পারবে অথবা হিদায়াত করতে পারবে অন্ধকে এবং তাকে যে স্পষ্ট পথভ্রষ্টতায় রয়েছে?
And even if We take you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) away, We shall indeed take vengeance on them.
Faimma nathhabanna bika fainna minhum muntaqimoona
অতঃপর যদি আমি তোমাকে নিয়ে যাই, তবে নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের থেকে প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করব।
Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them: then verily We have perfect command over them.
Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahum fainna AAalayhim muqtadiroona
অথবা আমি তাদের যে শাস্তির ওয়াদা দিয়েছি তা যদি তোমাকে প্রত্যক্ষ করাই, তবে নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের উপর পূর্ণ ক্ষমতাবান থাকব।
So hold you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) fast to that which is revealed to you. Verily you are on the Straight Path.
Faistamsik biallathee oohiya ilayka innaka AAala siratin mustaqeemin
অতএব তোমার প্রতি যা ওহী করা হয়েছে তাকে তুমি সুদৃঢ়ভাবে ধারণ কর। নিশ্চয় তুমি সরল পথের উপর রয়েছ।
And verily this (the Qur'an) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it).
Wainnahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tusaloona
নিশ্চয় এ কুরআন তোমার জন্য এবং তোমার কওমের জন্য উপদেশ। আর অচিরেই তোমাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে।
And ask (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint alihah (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Gracious (Allah)?"
Waisal man arsalna min qablika min rusulina ajaAAalna min dooni alrrahmani alihatan yuAAbadoona
আর তোমার পূর্বে আমি রাসূলগণ থেকে যাদের প্রেরণ করেছিলাম তুমি তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করে দেখ, আমি কি রহমানের পরিবর্তে অন্য কোন উপাস্য নির্ধারণ করে দিয়েছিলাম, যাদের ইবাদাত করা যাবে?
And indeed We did send Musa (Moses) with Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs (inviting them to Allah's religion of Islam) He said: "Verily, I am a Messenger of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)."
Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina ila firAAawna wamalaihi faqala innee rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena
আর অবশ্যই আমি মূসাকে আমার নিদর্শনাবলী দিয়ে ফির‘আউন ও তার নেতৃবর্গের নিকট প্রেরণ করেছিলাম। সে বলেছিল, ‘নিশ্চয় আমি সৃষ্টিকুলের রবের একজন রাসূল’।
But when he came to them with Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) behold, they laughed at them.
Falamma jaahum biayatina itha hum minha yadhakoona
অতঃপর যখন সে আমার নিদর্শনাবলী নিয়ে তাদের কাছে আসল, তখন তারা তা নিয়ে হাসি-ঠাট্টা করতে লাগল।
And not an Ayah (sign, etc.) We showed them but it was greater than its fellow , and We seized them with torment, in order that they might turn [from their polytheism to Allah's religion (Islamic Monotheism)].
Wama nureehim min ayatin illa hiya akbaru min okhtiha waakhathnahum bialAAathabi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
আমি তাদের যে নিদর্শনই দেখাইনা কেন তা ছিল তার অনুরূপ নিদর্শন অপেক্ষা শ্রেষ্ঠতর। আর আমি তাদেরকে আযাবের মাধ্যমে পাকড়াও করলাম, যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।
And they said [to Musa (Moses)]: "O you sorcerer! Invoke your Lord for us according to what He has covenanted with you. Verily, We shall guide ourselves (aright)."
Waqaloo ya ayyuha alsahiru odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka innana lamuhtadoona
আর তারা বলল, ‘হে যাদুকর, তোমার রবের কাছে তুমি আমাদের জন্য তাই প্রার্থনা কর, যার ওয়াদা তিনি তোমার সাথে করেছেন। নিশ্চয় আমরা হিদায়াতের পথে আসব।’
But when We removed the torment from them, behold, they broke their covenant (that they will believe if We remove the torment from them).
Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alAAathaba itha hum yankuthoona
অতঃপর যখন আমি তাদের থেকে আযাব সরিয়ে নিলাম, তখনই তারা অঙ্গীকার ভঙ্গ করে বসল।
And Fir'aun (Pharaoh) proclaimed among his people (saying): "O my people! Is not mine the dominion of Egypt, and these rivers flowing underneath me. See you not then?
Wanada firAAawnu fee qawmihi qala ya qawmi alaysa lee mulku misra wahathihi alanharu tajree min tahtee afala tubsiroona
আর ফির‘আউন তার কওমের মধ্যে ঘোষণা দিয়ে বলল, ‘হে আমার কওম, মিসরের রাজত্ব কি আমার নয়? আর এ সব নদ-নদী কি আমার পাদদেশ দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হচ্ছে না, তোমরা কি দেখছ না’?
"Am I not better than this one [Musa (Moses)] who is despicable and can scarcely express himself clearly?
Am ana khayrun min hatha allathee huwa maheenun wala yakadu yubeenu
‘আমি কি এই ব্যক্তি থেকে শ্রেষ্ঠ নই, যে হীন এবং স্পষ্ট বর্ণনা করতে প্রায় অক্ষম’?
"Why then are not golden bracelets bestowed on him, or angels sent along with him?"
Falawla olqiya AAalayhi aswiratun min thahabin aw jaa maAAahu almalaikatu muqtarineena
‘তবে তাকে কেন স্বর্ণবলয় প্রদান করা হল না অথবা দলবদ্ধভাবে ফেরেশতাগণ তার সাথে কেন আসল না?’
Thus he [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] befooled (and misled) his people, and they obeyed him. Verily, they were ever a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
Faistakhaffa qawmahu faataAAoohu innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena
এভাবেই সে তার কওমকে বোকা বানালো, ফলে তারা তার আনুগত্য করল। নিশ্চয় তারা ছিল এক ফাসিক কওম।
So when they angered Us, We punished them, and drowned them all.
Falamma asafoona intaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeena
তারপর যখন তারা আমাকে ক্রোধান্বিত করল, তখন আমি তাদের থেকে প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করলাম এবং তাদের সকলকে নিমজ্জিত করে দিলাম।
And We made them a precedent (as a lesson for those coming after them), and an example to later generations.
FajaAAalnahum salafan wamathalan lilakhireena
ফলে আমি তাদেরকে পরবর্তীদের জন্য অতীত ইতিহাস ও দৃষ্টান্ত বানালাম।
And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Îsa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols], behold, your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example).
Walamma duriba ibnu maryama mathalan itha qawmuka minhu yasiddoona
আর যখনই মারইয়াম পুত্রকে দৃষ্টান্তস্বরূপ পেশ করা হয়, তখন তোমার কওম শোরগোল শুরু করে দেয়।
And say: "Are our alihah (gods) better or is he ['Îsa (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. (See V. 21:98-101)
Waqaloo aalihatuna khayrun am huwa ma daraboohu laka illa jadalan bal hum qawmun khasimoona
আর তারা বলে, ‘আমাদের উপাস্যরা শ্রেষ্ঠ নাকি ঈসা’? তারা কেবল কূটতর্কের খাতিরেই তাকে তোমার সামনে পেশ করে। বরং এরাই এক ঝগড়াটে সম্প্রদায়।
He ['Îsa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father).
In huwa illa AAabdun anAAamna AAalayhi wajaAAalnahu mathalan libanee israeela
সে কেবল আমার এক বান্দা। আমি তার উপর অনুগ্রহ করেছিলাম এবং বনী ইসরাঈলের জন্য তাকে দৃষ্টান্ত বানিয়েছিলাম।
And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. [Tafsir At-Tabari].
Walaw nashao lajaAAalna minkum malaikatan fee alardi yakhlufoona
আর যদি আমি চাইতাম, তবে আমি তোমাদের পরিবর্তে ফেরেশতা সৃষ্টি করে পাঠাতাম যারা যমীনে তোমাদের উত্তরাধিকার হত।
And he ['Îsa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Isa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise).
Wainnahu laAAilmun lilssaAAati fala tamtarunna biha waittabiAAooni hatha siratun mustaqeemun
আর নিশ্চয় সে (ঈসা) হবে কিয়ামতের এক সুনিশ্চিত আলামত। সুতরাং তোমরা কিয়ামত সম্পর্কে সংশয় পোষণ করো না। তোমরা আমারই অনুসরণ কর। এটিই সরল পথ।
And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism). Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy.
Wala yasuddannakumu alshshaytanu innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun
শয়তান যেন তোমাদের কিছুতেই বাধা দিতে না পারে। নিশ্চয় সে তোমাদের প্রকাশ্য শত্রু।
And when 'Îsa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ. Therefore fear Allah and obey me.
Walamma jaa AAeesa bialbayyinati qala qad jitukum bialhikmati waliobayyina lakum baAAda allathee takhtalifoona feehi faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
আর যখন ঈসা সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণাদি নিয়ে আসল, তখন সে বলল, ‘আমি অবশ্যই তোমাদের কাছে হিকমত নিয়ে এসেছি এবং এসেছি তোমরা যে কতক বিষয়ে মতবিরোধে লিপ্ত তা স্পষ্ট করে দিতে। অতএব তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর’।
"Verily, Allah! He is my Lord (God) and your Lord (God). So worship Him (Alone). This is the (only) Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of true Islamic Monotheism)."
Inna Allaha huwa rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun
‘নিশ্চয় , তিনিই আমার রব ও তোমাদের রব। অতএব তাঁর ইবাদাত কর; এটিই সরল পথ’।
But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong [by ascribing things to 'Îsa (Jesus) that are not true] from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)!
Faikhtalafa alahzabu min baynihim fawaylun lillatheena thalamoo min AAathabi yawmin aleemin
অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যকার কতগুলি দল মতভেদ করেছিল। সুতরাং যালিমদের জন্য যন্ত্রণাদায়ক দিনের আযাবের দুর্ভোগ!
Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not?
Hal yanthuroona illa alssaAAata an tatiyahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
তারা তো তাদের অজ্ঞাতসারে অকস্মাৎ কিয়ামত আসার অপেক্ষা করছে।
Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (the pious. See V.2:2).
Alakhillao yawmaithin baAAduhum libaAAdin AAaduwwun illa almuttaqeena
সেদিন বন্ধুরা একে অন্যের শত্রু হবে, মুত্তাকীরা ছাড়া।
(It will be said to the true believers of Islamic Monotheism): My worshippers! No fear shall be on you this Day, nor shall you grieve,
Ya AAibadi la khawfun AAalaykumu alyawma wala antum tahzanoona
হে আমার বান্দাগণ, আজ তোমাদের কোন ভয় নেই এবং তোমরা চিন্তিতও হবে না।
(You) who believed in Our Ayat (proofs, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were Muslims (i.e. who submit totally to Allah's Will, and believe in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism).
Allatheena amanoo biayatina wakanoo muslimeena
যারা আমার আয়াতে ঈমান এনেছিল এবং যারা ছিল মুসলিম।
Enter Paradise, you and your wives, in happiness.
Odkhuloo aljannata antum waazwajukum tuhbaroona
তোমরা সস্ত্রীক সানন্দে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ কর।
Trays of gold and cups will be passed round them; (there will be) therein all that inner-selves could desire, and all that eyes could delight in and you will abide therein forever.
Yutafu AAalayhim bisihafin min thahabin waakwabin wafeeha ma tashtaheehi alanfusu watalaththu alaAAyunu waantum feeha khalidoona
স্বর্ণখচিত থালা ও পানপাত্র নিয়ে তাদেরকে প্রদক্ষিণ করা হবে, সেখানে মন যা চায় আর যাতে চোখ তৃপ্ত হয় তা-ই থাকবে এবং সেখানে তোমরা হবে স্থায়ী।
This is the Paradise which you have been made to inherit because of your deeds which you used to do (in the life of the world).
Watilka aljannatu allatee oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona
আর এটিই জান্নাত, নিজদের আমলের ফলস্বরূপ তোমাদেরকে এর অধিকারী করা হয়েছে।
Therein for you will be fruits in plenty, of which you will eat (as you desire).
Lakum feeha fakihatun katheeratun minha takuloona
সেখানে তোমাদের জন্য রয়েছে অনেক ফলমূল, যা থেকে তোমরা খাবে।
Verily, the Mujrimun (criminals, sinners, disbelievers) will be in the torment of Hell to abide therein forever.
Inna almujrimeena fee AAathabi jahannama khalidoona
নিশ্চয় অপরাধীরা জাহান্নামের আযাবে স্থায়ী হবে;
(The torment) will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein.
La yufattaru AAanhum wahum feehi mublisoona
তাদের থেকে আযাব কমানো হবে না এবং তাতে তারা হতাশ হয়ে পড়বে।
We wronged them not, but they were the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers).
Wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo humu alththalimeena
আর আমি তাদের উপর যুলম করিনি; কিন্তু তারাই ছিল যালিম।
And they will cry: "O Malik (Keeper of Hell)! Let your Lord make an end of us." He will say: "Verily, you shall abide forever."
Wanadaw ya maliku liyaqdi AAalayna rabbuka qala innakum makithoona
তারা চিৎকার করে বলবে, ‘হে মালিক, তোমার রব যেন আমাদেরকে শেষ করে দেন’। সে বলবে, ‘নিশ্চয় তোমরা অবস্থানকারী’।
Indeed We have brought the truth (Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم with the Qur'an) to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth.
Laqad jinakum bialhaqqi walakinna aktharakum lilhaqqi karihoona
‘অবশ্যই তোমাদের কাছে আমি সত্য নিয়ে এসেছিলাম; কিন্তু তোমাদের অধিকাংশই ছিলে সত্য অপছন্দকারী*। * কথাটি আল্লাহর। অর্থ আমিতো তোমাদের কাছে সত্যবাণী পৌঁছিয়েছিলাম।
Or have they plotted some plan? Then We too are planning.
Am abramoo amran fainna mubrimoona
না কি তারা কোন ব্যাপারে পাকা সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে? নিশ্চয় আমি চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্তকারী।
Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private counsel? (Yes We do) and Our messengers (appointed angels in charge of mankind) are by them, to record.
Am yahsaboona anna la nasmaAAu sirrahum wanajwahum bala warusuluna ladayhim yaktuboona
না কি তারা মনে করে, আমি তাদের গোপনীয় বিষয় ও নিভৃত সলাপরামর্শ শুনতে পাই না? অবশ্যই হ্যাঁ, আর আমার ফেরেশতাগণ তাদের কাছে থেকে লিখছে।
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم): "If the Most Gracious (Allah) had a son (or children as you pretend), then I am the first of Allah's worshippers [who deny and refute this claim of yours (and the first to believe in Allah Alone and testify that He has no children)]." [Tafsir At-Tabari].
Qul in kana lilrrahmani waladun faana awwalu alAAabideena
বল, ‘রহমানের যদি সন্তান থাকত তবে আমি প্রথম তাঁর ইবাদাতকারী হতাম।
Glorified be the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne! Exalted be He from all that they ascribe (to Him).
Subhana rabbi alssamawati waalardi rabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoona
তারা যা আরোপ করে, আসমানসমূহ ও যমীনের রব এবং আরশের রব তা থেকে পবিত্র-মহান।
So leave them (alone) to speak nonsense and play until they meet the Day of theirs which they have been promised.
Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona
অতএব তাদেরকে ছেড়ে দাও, তারা মগ্ন থাকুক বেহুদা কথায় আর খেল-তামাশায় মত্ত থাকুক যতক্ষণ না সেদিনের সাথে তারা সাক্ষাৎ করে যার প্রতিশ্রুতি তাদেরকে দেয়া হয়েছে।
It is He (Allah) Who is the only Ilah (God to be worshipped) in the heaven and the only Ilah (God to be worshipped) on the earth. And He be the All-Wise, the All-Knower.
Wahuwa allathee fee alssamai ilahun wafee alardi ilahun wahuwa alhakeemu alAAaleemu
আর তিনিই আসমানে এবং তিনিই যমীনে ; আর তিনি প্রজ্ঞাময়, সর্বজ্ঞ।
And Blessed be He to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, and with Whom is the knowledge of the Hour, and to Whom you (all) will be returned.
Watabaraka allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma waAAindahu AAilmu alssaAAati wailayhi turjaAAoona
আর তিনি বরকতময়, যার কর্তৃত্বে রয়েছে আসমানসমূহ, যমীন ও এ দু’য়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছু; আর কিয়ামতের জ্ঞান কেবল তাঁরই আছে এবং তাঁরই নিকট তোমাদেরকে ফিরিয়ে নেয়া হবে।
And those whom they invoke instead of Him have no power of intercession - except for those who bear witness to the truth knowingly (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allah, and obeyed His Orders), and they know (the facts about the Oneness of Allah).
Wala yamliku allatheena yadAAoona min doonihi alshshafaAAata illa man shahida bialhaqqi wahum yaAAlamoona
আর তিনি ছাড়া যাদেরকে তারা আহবান করে তারা সুপারিশের মালিক হবে না; তবে তারা ছাড়া যারা জেনে-শুনে সত্য সাক্ষ্য দেয় ।
And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say: "Allah." How then are they turned away (from the worship of Allah, Who created them)?
Walain saaltahum man khalaqahum layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona
আর তুমি যদি তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর, কে তাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছে? তারা অবশ্যই বলবে, ‘।’ তবু তারা কীভাবে বিমুখ হয়?
(And Allah has the knowledge) of (Prophet Muhammad's) saying: "O my Lord! Verily, these are a people who believe not!"
Waqeelihi yarabbi inna haolai qawmun la yuminoona
আর তার (রাসূলের) বাণী ‘হে আমার রব, নিশ্চয় এরা এমন কওম যারা ঈমান আনবে না।’
So turn away from them (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), and say: Salam (peace)! But they will come to know.
Faisfah AAanhum waqul salamun fasawfa yaAAlamoona
অতএব তুমি তাদেরকে এড়িয়ে চল এবং বল, ‘সালাম’; তবে তারা শীঘ্রই জানতে পারবে।
