Chapter 7, 206 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.]
Aliflammeemsad
আলিফ লাম মিম সোয়াদ।
(This is the) Book (the Qur'an) sent down unto you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby; and a reminder unto the believers.
Kitabun onzila ilayka fala yakun fee sadrika harajun minhu litunthira bihi wathikra lilmumineena
এটি একটি কিতাব তোমার প্রতি নাযিল করা হচ্ছে। সুতরাং এর ব্যাপারে যেনো তোমার মনে কোনো প্রকার সংকোচ না থাকে। এটি নাযিল করার উদ্দেশ্য হলো, তুমি এর মাধ্যমে মানুষকে সতর্ক করবে আর এটি একটি উপদেশ মুমিনদের জন্যে।
[Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember!
IttabiAAoo ma onzila ilaykum min rabbikum wala tattabiAAoo min doonihi awliyaa qaleelan ma tathakkaroona
তোমাদের রবের পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের কাছে যা নাযিল করা হচ্ছে তোমরা কেবল তারই ইত্তেবা (অনুসরণ) করো। তাঁকে (আল্লাহকে) ছাড়া অন্য অলিদের অনুসরণ করোনা। তবে তোমরা খুব কমই উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে থাকো।
And a great number of towns (their population) We destroyed (for their crimes). Our torment came upon them (suddenly) by night or while they were taking their midday nap.
Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknaha fajaaha basuna bayatan aw hum qailoona
কতো যে জনপদ আমরা হালাক করে দিয়েছি। আমাদের শাস্তি সে জনপদে এসে পড়েছিল রাতের বেলা অথবা দুপুরে যখন তারা ছিলো বিশ্রামরত।
No cry did they utter when Our Torment came upon them but this: "Verily, we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)".
Fama kana daAAwahum ith jaahum basuna illa an qaloo inna kunna thalimeena
আমাদের শাস্তি যখন তাদের উপর এসে পড়েছিল, তখন তাদের মুখে শুধু একটি কথাই ছিলো: ‘অবশ্যি আমরা যালিম।’
Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers.
Falanasalanna allatheena orsila ilayhim walanasalanna almursaleena
যাদের কাছে রসূল পাঠানো হয়েছে তাদেরকে অবশ্যি আমরা জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করবো এবং জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করবো রসূলদেরও।
Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We have not been absent.
Falanaqussanna AAalayhim biAAilmin wama kunna ghaibeena
তারপর পূর্ণ জ্ঞানের ভিত্তিতে তাদের কর্মকান্ডের বিবরণ তাদের সামনে তুলে ধরবো, আমরা তো আর (তাদের থেকে) ছিলাম না।
And the weighing on that day (Day of Resurrection) will be the true (weighing) . So as for those whose scale (of good deeds) will be heavy, they will be the (by entering Paradise).
Waalwaznu yawmaithini alhaqqu faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faolaika humu almuflihoona
সেদিনকার ওজন (ন্যায়বিচার) মহাসত্য ও বাস্তব। তারপর যাদের (নেক আমলের) পাল্লা ভারি হবে তারাই হবে ।
And as for those whose scale will be light, they are those who will lose their ownselves (by entering Hell) because they denied and rejected Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
Waman khaffat mawazeenuhu faolaika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum bima kanoo biayatina yathlimoona
আর যাদের (ভালো কাজের) পাল্লা হবে হালকা, তারা হবে ঐসব লোক যারা নিজেদের ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত করেছে আমাদের আয়াতের প্রতি যুলুম করার মাধ্যমে।
And surely, We gave you authority on the earth and appointed for you therein provisions (for your life). Little thanks do you give.
Walaqad makkannakum fee alardi wajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha qaleelan ma tashkuroona
আমরা তোমাদের এই পৃথিবীতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছি আর এখানেই তোমাদের জন্যে ব্যবস্থা করে দিয়েছি জীবিকার। খুব কমই তোমরা শোকর আদায় করো।
And surely, We created you (your father Adam) and then gave you shape (the noble shape of a human being); then We told the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam", and they prostrated themselves, except Iblis (Satan), he refused to be of those who prostrated themselves.
Walaqad khalaqnakum thumma sawwarnakum thumma qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa lam yakun mina alssajideena
আমরা তোমাদের সৃষ্টি করেছি, তারপর তোমাদের আকৃতি দান করেছি, তারপর ফেরেশতাদের বলেছি, সাজদা করো আদমের প্রতি। তখন তারা সবাই সাজদা করেছিল ইবলিস ছাড়া। সে সাজদাকারীদের সাথে শামিল হয়নি।
(Allah) said: "What prevented you (O Iblis) that you did not prostrate yourself, when I commanded you?" Iblis said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay."
Qala ma manaAAaka alla tasjuda ith amartuka qala ana khayrun minhu khalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu min teenin
তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন: ‘আমার নির্দেশ সত্ত্বেও কোন্ জিনিস তোমাকে বিরত রাখলো সাজদা করা থেকে?’ সে জবাব দেয়: ‘আমি তার (আদমের) চাইতে উত্তম। তুমি আমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছো আগুন থেকে আর তাকে সৃষ্টি করেছো মাটি থেকে।’
(Allah) said: "(O Iblis) get down from this (Paradise), it is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out, for you are of those humiliated and disgraced."
Qala faihbit minha fama yakoonu laka an tatakabbara feeha faokhruj innaka mina alssaghireena
তিনি বললেন: ‘বেরিয়ে যা এখান থেকে। এখানে থেকে অহংকার করার কোনো অধিকার তোর নেই। বেরিয়ে যা, নিশ্চয়ই তুই নিচু ও হীনদের একজন।’
(Iblis) said: "Allow me respite till the Day they are raised up (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."
Qala anthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona
সে বললো: ‘আমাকে পুনরুত্থানকাল পর্যন্ত অবকাশ দিন।’
(Allah) said: "You are of those respited."
Qala innaka mina almunthareena
তিনি বললেন: ‘যা, তুই অবকাশপ্রাপ্তদের অন্তরভুক্ত।’
(Iblis) said: "Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path.
Qala fabima aghwaytanee laaqAAudanna lahum sirataka almustaqeema
তখন সে বললো: ‘‘যেহেতু তুমি আমাকে বিপথগামী করলে, তাই আমি তাদের (আদম সন্তানদের বিপথগামী করার) জন্যে তোমার সরল সঠিক পথে ওঁৎ পেতে থাকবো।
"Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You)."
Thumma laatiyannahum min bayni aydeehim wamin khalfihim waAAan aymanihim waAAan shamailihim wala tajidu aktharahum shakireena
তারপর আমি আসবো তাদের সামনে থেকে, তাদের পেছন থেকে, তাদের ডানে থেকে এবং তাদের বামে থেকে। ফলে তুমি তাদের অধিকাংশকেই পাবেনা শোকর গুজার।’’
(Allah) said (to Iblis): "Get out from this (Paradise), disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them (mankind) will follow you, then surely I will fill Hell with you all."
Qala okhruj minha mathooman madhooran laman tabiAAaka minhum laamlaanna jahannama minkum ajmaAAeena
তিনি বললেন: ‘‘তুই বেরিয়ে যা ওখান থেকে ধিকৃত ও বিতাড়িত হয়ে। তাদের যে কেউ তোর অনুসরণ করবে, আমি অবশ্যি তোদের সবাইকে দিয়ে পূর্ণ করবো জাহান্নাম।
"And O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in Paradise, and eat thereof as you both wish, but approach not this tree otherwise you both will be of the Zalimun (unjust and wrong-doers)."
Waya adamu oskun anta wazawjuka aljannata fakula min haythu shituma wala taqraba hathihi alshshajarata fatakoona mina alththalimeena
আর হে আদম! তুমি এবং তোমার স্ত্রী বসবাস করো জান্নাতে। খাও যেখান থেকে ইচ্ছা। তবে তোমরা এই গাছটির কাছেও যেয়োনা, গেলে তোমরা যালিমদের মধ্যে শামিল হয়ে পড়বে।’’
Then Shaitan (Satan) whispered suggestions to them both in order to uncover that which was hidden from them of their private parts (before); he said: "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree save that you should become angels or become of the immortals."
Fawaswasa lahuma alshshaytanu liyubdiya lahuma ma wooriya AAanhuma min sawatihima waqala ma nahakuma rabbukuma AAan hathihi alshshajarati illa an takoona malakayni aw takoona mina alkhalideena
তারপর শয়তান অস্অসা দিলো তাদের দুজনকে যাতে করে তাদের লজ্জাস্থান যা গোপন রাখা হয়েছিল তাদের কাছে, তা তাদের জন্যে প্রকাশ হয়ে পড়ে। সে তাদের বললো: ‘তোমাদের প্রভু যে তোমাদেরকে এই গাছের ব্যাপারে নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ করেছেন তার কারণ, পাছে তোমরা ফেরেশতা হয়ে না পড়ো, কিংবা তোমরা (এখানে) স্থায়ী হয়ে না যাও।’
And he [Shaitan (Satan)] swore by Allah to them both (saying): "Verily, I am one of the sincere well-wishers for you both."
Waqasamahuma innee lakuma lamina alnnasiheena
সে তাদের কাছে কসম খেয়ে বললো: ‘অবশ্যি আমি তোমাদের একজন কল্যাণকামী।’
So he misled them with deception. Then when they tasted of the tree, that which was hidden from them of their shame (private parts) became manifest to them and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise (in order to cover their shame). And their Lord called out to them (saying): "Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily, Shaitan (Satan) is an open enemy unto you?"
Fadallahuma bighuroorin falamma thaqa alshshajarata badat lahuma sawatuhuma watafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhima min waraqi aljannati wanadahuma rabbuhuma alam anhakuma AAan tilkuma alshshajarati waaqul lakuma inna alshshaytana lakuma AAaduwwun mubeenun
এভাবে সে তাদের প্রতারিত করে অধপতিত করলো। তারপর যখন তারা সেই গাছের (ফল) আস্বাদন করলো, তখন তাদের লজ্জাস্থান তাদের কাছে প্রকাশ হয়ে পড়লো এবং জান্নাতের পাতা দিয়ে তারা নিজেদের ঢেকে নিতে থাকলো। এসময় তাদের প্রভু তাদের ডেকে বললেন: ‘আমি কি তোমাদেরকে এই গাছটির কাছে যেতে নিষেধ করিনি? আমি কি বলিনি শয়তান তোমাদের সুস্পষ্ট দুশমন?’
They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers."
Qala rabbana thalamna anfusana wain lam taghfir lana watarhamna lanakoonanna mina alkhasireena
তখন তারা ফরিয়াদ করলো: ‘আমাদের প্রভু! আমরা নিজেদের প্রতি যুলুম করেছি। এখন তুমি যদি আমাদের ক্ষমা না করো এবং আমাদের দয়া না করো, তাহলে তো আমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের মধ্যে শামিল হয়ে পড়বো।’
(Allah) said: "Get down, one of you is an enemy to the other [i.e. Adam, Hawwa' (Eve), and Shaitan (Satan)]. On earth will be a dwelling-place for you and an enjoyment for a time."
Qala ihbitoo baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun walakum fee alardi mustaqarrun wamataAAun ila heenin
তিনি বললেন: ‘নেমে যাও, তোমরা পরস্পরের শত্রু। পৃথিবীতে একটা নির্দিষ্টকাল তোমরা অবস্থান করবে এবং ওখানেই তোমাদের জীবিকার ব্যবস্থা থাকবে।’
He said: "Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out (i.e. resurrected)."
Qala feeha tahyawna wafeeha tamootoona waminha tukhrajoona
তিনি আরো বললেন: ‘সেখানেই তোমরা জীবন যাপন করবে এবং সেখানেই তোমাদের মৃত্যু হবে আর সেখান থেকেই তোমাদের খারিজ (বের) করে আনা হবে।’
O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts) and as an adornment; and the raiment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, that they may remember (i.e. leave falsehood and follow truth ).
Ya banee adama qad anzalna AAalaykum libasan yuwaree sawatikum wareeshan walibasu alttaqwa thalika khayrun thalika min ayati Allahi laAAallahum yaththakkaroona
হে আদম সন্তান! আমরা তোমাদের জন্যে এক ধরণের পোশাক নাযিল করেছি তোমাদের লজ্জাস্থান ঢাকার জন্যে আচ্ছাদন হিসেবে এবং শোভাবর্ধক হিসেবে, আর রয়েছে ‘তাকওয়ার পোশাক’, এ পোশাকই উত্তম। এ হলো আল্লাহর আয়াত, যাতে করে তারা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে।
O Children of Adam! Let not Shaitan (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Hawwa' (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiments, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and Qabiluhu (his soldiers from the jinn or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shayatin (devils) Auliya' (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not.
Ya banee adama la yaftinannakumu alshshaytanu kama akhraja abawaykum mina aljannati yanziAAu AAanhuma libasahuma liyuriyahuma sawatihima innahu yarakum huwa waqabeeluhu min haythu la tarawnahum inna jaAAalna alshshayateena awliyaa lillatheena la yuminoona
হে বনি আদম! শয়তান যেনো তোমাদের ফিতনায় না ফেলে যেভাবে (ফিতনায় ফেলে) তোমাদের (আদি) পিতা মাতাকে বের করে দিয়েছিল জান্নাত থেকে। সে তাদেরকে তাদের লজ্জাস্থান দেখাবার জন্যে তাদের লেবাস খসিয়ে দিয়েছিল। সে এবং তার দলবল তোমাদেরকে এমনভাবে দেখে, যেভাবে তোমরা তাদের দেখোনা। যারা ঈমান আনেনা তাদের জন্যে আমরা অলি বানিয়ে দিয়েছি শয়তানদের।
And when they commit a Fahishah (evil deed, going round the Ka'bah in naked state, and every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse), they say: "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has commanded it on us." Say: "Nay, Allah never commands Fahishah. Do you say of Allah what you know not?"
Waitha faAAaloo fahishatan qaloo wajadna AAalayha abaana waAllahu amarana biha qul inna Allaha la yamuru bialfahshai ataqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
তারা যখন কোনো ফাহেশা কাজ করে, তখন বলে: ‘আমরা আমাদের পূর্ব পুরুষদের এরকম করতে দেখেছি। আল্লাহ্ই আমাদেরকে এর নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।’ বলো: ‘ ফাহেশা কাজের নির্দেশ দেননা। কেন তোমরা আল্লাহর প্রতি এমন কথা আরোপ করছো যা তোমরা জানোনা?’
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): My Lord has commanded justice and (said) that you should face Him only (i.e. worship none but Allah and face the Qiblah, i.e. the Ka'bah at Makkah during prayers) in every place of worship, in prayers (and not to face other false deities and idols), and invoke Him only making your religion sincere to Him (by not joining in worship any partner with Him and with the intention that you are doing your deeds for Allah's sake only). As He brought you (into being) in the beginning, so shall you be brought into being [on the Day of Resurrection in two groups, one as a blessed one (believers), and the other as a wretched one (disbelievers)].
Qul amara rabbee bialqisti waaqeemoo wujoohakum AAinda kulli masjidin waodAAoohu mukhliseena lahu alddeena kama badaakum taAAoodoona
বলো: আমার প্রভু ইনসাফের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। প্রত্যেক মসজিদে (সালাতে) তোমরা তোমাদের লক্ষ্য স্থির করবে এবং আল্লাহর জন্যে আনুগত্য একনিষ্ঠ করে তাঁকে ডাকবে। তিনি তোমাদের প্রথম যেভাবে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তোমরা ঠিক সেভাবেই ফিরে আসবে।
A group He has guided, and a group deserved to be in error; (because) surely they took the Shayatin (devils) as Auliya' (protectors and helpers) instead of Allah, and think that they are guided.
Fareeqan hada wafareeqan haqqa AAalayhimu alddalalatu innahumu ittakhathoo alshshayateena awliyaa min dooni Allahi wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona
একদলকে তিনি হিদায়াত দান করেছেন, আরেক দলের উপর গোমরাহি নির্ধারিত হয়ে গেছে। কারণ, তারা আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে শয়তানদের অলি বানিয়ে নিয়েছে এবং ধারণা করছে তারা হিদায়াতপ্রাপ্ত।
O Children of Adam! Take your adornment (by wearing your clean clothes), while praying and going round (the Tawaf of) the Ka'bah, and eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allah) likes not Al-Musrifun (those who waste by extravagance).
Ya banee adama khuthoo zeenatakum AAinda kulli masjidin wakuloo waishraboo wala tusrifoo innahu la yuhibbu almusrifeena
হে আদম সন্তান! প্রত্যেক মসজিদের (সালাতের) সময় তোমরা তোমাদের সুন্দর পোশাক পরবে। আর আহার করবে, পান করবে, কিন্তু অপচয় করবেনা, কারণ তিনি অপচয়কারীদের পছন্দ করেননা।
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Who has forbidden the adornment with clothes given by Allah, which He has produced for His slaves, and At-Taiyyibat [all kinds of Halal (lawful) things] of food?" Say: "They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) exclusively for them (believers) on the Day of Resurrection (the disbelievers will not share them)." Thus We explain the Ayat (Islamic laws) in detail for people who have knowledge.
Qul man harrama zeenata Allahi allatee akhraja liAAibadihi waalttayyibati mina alrrizqi qul hiya lillatheena amanoo fee alhayati alddunya khalisatan yawma alqiyamati kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona
হে নবী! বলো: ‘ তাঁর বান্দাদের জন্যে যেসব সুন্দর বস্ত্ত আর উত্তম জীবিকা সৃষ্টি করেছেন, সেগুলো হারাম করলো কে?’ বলো: ‘সেগুলো তো মুমিনদেরই জন্যে এই দুনিয়ার জীবনে, বিশেষ করে কিয়ামত কালে।’ এভাবেই আমরা সুস্পষ্টভাবে বর্ণনা করি আয়াত যারা জ্ঞান রাখে তাদের জন্যে।
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "(But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawahish (great evil sins and every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allah for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allah of which you have no knowledge."
Qul innama harrama rabbiya alfawahisha ma thahara minha wama batana waalithma waalbaghya bighayri alhaqqi waan tushrikoo biAllahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan waan taqooloo AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
বলো: ‘আমার প্রভু হারাম করে দিয়েছেন গোপন ও প্রকাশ্য ফাহেশা (অশ্লীল) কাজ, পাপকাজ, না হক বিদ্রোহ, তোমাদের আল্লাহর সাথে শিরক করা যার সপক্ষে কোনো প্রমাণ নাযিল করেননি, এবং না জেনে বুঝে তোমাদের আল্লাহর সম্পর্কে কথা বলা।
And every nation has its appointed term; when their term comes, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment).
Walikulli ommatin ajalun faitha jaa ajaluhum la yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona
প্রত্যেক উম্মতের একটি কাল - সীমা রয়েছে, যখন তাদের সেই সময়টি এসে পড়বে, তখন তারা মুহূর্তকাল বিলম্বও করতে পারবেনা এবং তার পূর্বেও সে কালটি শেষ করতে পারবেনা।
O Children of Adam! If there come to you Messengers from amongst you, reciting to you My Verses, then whosoever becomes pious and righteous, on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.
Ya banee adama imma yatiyannakum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayatee famani ittaqa waaslaha fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona
হে বনি আদম! যখন তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে তোমাদের কাছে রসূলরা এসে আমার আয়াত পেশ করবে, তখন যারা সতর্ক হবে এবং নিজেদের এসলাহ (সংশোধন) করে নেবে, তাদের কোনো ভয় ভীতিও থাকবেনা, দুঃখ দুশ্চিন্তাও থাকবেনা।
But those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) and treat them with arrogance, they are the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire, they will abide therein forever.
Waallatheena kaththaboo biayatina waistakbaroo AAanha olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
আর যারা প্রত্যাখ্যান করবে আমার আয়াত এবং তার বিরুদ্ধে প্রকাশ করবে দাম্ভিকতা, তারা হবে আগুনের অধিবাসী এবং চিরকাল থাকবে তারা সেখানে।
Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or rejects His Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations)? For such their appointed portion (good things of this worldly life and their period of stay therein) will reach them from the Book (of Decrees) until when Our Messengers (the angel of death and his assistants) come to them to take their souls, they (the angels) will say: "Where are those whom you used to invoke and worship besides Allah," they will reply, "They have vanished and deserted us." And they will bear witness against themselves, that they were disbelievers.
Faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba biayatihi olaika yanaluhum naseebuhum mina alkitabi hatta itha jaathum rusuluna yatawaffawnahum qaloo ayna ma kuntum tadAAoona min dooni Allahi qaloo dalloo AAanna washahidoo AAala anfusihim annahum kanoo kafireena
ঐ ব্যক্তির চাইতে বড় যালিম আর কে, যে মিথ্যা রচনা করে আল্লাহর উপর আরোপ করে, কিংবা মিথ্যা বলে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে তাঁর আয়াতকে? তাদের নসিবে যা লেখা আছে তা তাদের কাছে পৌঁছুবেই। অবশেষে তাদের কাছে পৌঁছে যাবে আমাদের নির্দেশ বাহকরা (ফেরেশতারা) তাদেরকে ওফাত (মৃত্যু) দেয়ার জন্যে। তারা তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করবে: ‘তোমরা ছাড়া যাদের ডাকতে তারা কোথায়? তারা বলবে: ‘ওরা আমাদের থেকে উধাও হয়ে গেছে।’ তখন তারা তাদের নিজেদের বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষ্য দেবে যে, তারা সত্যি ছিলো।
(Allah) will say: "Enter you in the company of nations who passed away before you, of men and jinn, into the Fire." Every time a new nation enters, it curses its sister nation (that went before) until they will be gathered all together in the Fire. The last of them will say to the first of them: "Our Lord! These misled us, so give them a double torment of the Fire." He will say: "For each one there is double (torment), but you know not."
Qala odkhuloo fee omamin qad khalat min qablikum mina aljinni waalinsi fee alnnari kullama dakhalat ommatun laAAanat okhtaha hatta itha iddarakoo feeha jameeAAan qalat okhrahum lioolahum rabbana haolai adalloona faatihim AAathaban diAAfan mina alnnari qala likullin diAAfun walakin la taAAlamoona
বলবেন: ‘তোমাদের আগে যেসব জিন ও মানব সম্প্রদায় গত হয়েছে, তাদের সাথে জাহান্নামে দাখিল হও।’ যখনই একটি দল তাতে প্রবেশ করবে তখনই অপর দলকে তারা লানত দেবে। যখন সবাই তাতে একত্র হবে, তখন পরবর্তীরা পূর্ববর্তীদের বলবে: ‘আমাদের প্রভু! এরাই আমাদের গোমরাহ করেছিল, সুতরাং তাদের আগুনের আযাব দ্বিগুণ করে দাও।’ তিনি বলবেন: ‘প্রত্যেকের জন্যেই রয়েছে দ্বিগুণ, তবে তোমরা তা জানোনা।’
The first of them will say to the last of them: "You were not better than us, so taste the torment for what you used to earn."
Waqalat oolahum liokhrahum fama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlin fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona
পূর্ববর্তীরা পরবর্তীদের বলবে: ‘আমাদের উপর তোমাদের কোনো শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব নেই। সুতরাং তোমরা তোমাদের অর্জনের জন্যে স্বাদ গ্রহণ করো আযাবের।’
Verily, those who belie Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) and treat them with arrogance, for them the gates of heaven will not be opened, and they will not enter Paradise until the camel goes through the eye of the needle (which is impossible). Thus do We recompense the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists and sinners).
Inna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waistakbaroo AAanha la tufattahu lahum abwabu alssamai wala yadkhuloona aljannata hatta yalija aljamalu fee sammi alkhiyati wakathalika najzee almujrimeena
যারা আমাদের আয়াতের প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছে এবং তার বিরুদ্ধে অহংকার করেছে, তাদের জন্যে আসমানের দুয়ার খোলা হবেনা এবং সূচের ছিদ্র দিয়ে উট প্রবেশ না করা পর্যন্ত তারা জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করতে পারবেনা। এরকম প্রতিফলই আমরা অপরাধীদের দিয়ে থাকি।
Theirs will be a bed of Hell (Fire), and over them coverings (of Hell-fire). Thus do We recompense the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers).
Lahum min jahannama mihadun wamin fawqihim ghawashin wakathalika najzee alththalimeena
জাহান্নামই হবে তাদের নিচের শয্যা এবং তাদের উপরের আচ্ছাদন। এভাবেই আমরা শাস্তি দিয়ে থাকি যালিমদের।
But those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and worked righteousness - We tax not any person beyond his scope - such are the dwellers of Paradise. They will abide therein.
Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati la nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha olaika ashabu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona
পক্ষান্তরে যারা ঈমান আনবে এবং আমলে সালেহ করবে, তারাই হবে জান্নাতের অধিবাসী, চিরকাল থাকবে তারা সেখানে। আমরা কাউকেও তার সাধ্যের বাইরে বোঝা অর্পণ করিনা।
And We shall remove from their breasts any (mutual) hatred or sense of injury (which they had, if at all, in the life of this world); rivers flowing under them, and they will say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has guided us to this, and never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allah had guided us! Indeed, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth." And it will be cried out to them: "This is the Paradise which you have inherited for what you used to do."
WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin tajree min tahtihimu alanharu waqaloo alhamdu lillahi allathee hadana lihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawla an hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumu aljannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona
আমরা দূর করে দেবো তাদের অন্তরের সব ঈর্ষা। তাদের নিচে দিয়ে বহমান থাকবে নদ নদী নহর। তারা বলবে: ‘সমস্ত প্রশংসা আল্লাহর, যিনি আমাদের এই জান্নাতের পথ দেখিয়েছেন। আমাদের পথ না দেখালে আমরা কখনো (জান্নাতের) পথ পেতাম না। আমাদের কাছে আমাদের প্রভুর রসূলরা সত্য নিয়ে এসেছিলেন।’ তখন তাদের ডেকে বলা হবে: ‘তোমাদের আমলের কারণেই তোমাদের এই জান্নাতের ওয়ারিশ বানানো হয়েছে।
And the dwellers of Paradise will call out to the dwellers of the Fire (saying): "We have indeed found true what our Lord had promised us; have you also found true, what your Lord promised (warnings)?" They shall say: "Yes." Then a crier will proclaim between them: "The Curse of Allah is on the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)."
Wanada ashabu aljannati ashaba alnnari an qad wajadna ma waAAadana rabbuna haqqan fahal wajadtum ma waAAada rabbukum haqqan qaloo naAAam faaththana muaththinun baynahum an laAAnatu Allahi AAala alththalimeena
জান্নাতবাসীরা জাহান্নামবাসীদের ডেকে বলবে: ‘আমাদের প্রভু আমাদের যে ওয়াদা দিয়েছিলেন আমরা তা সত্য পেয়েছি। তোমাদের প্রভু তোমাদের যে ওয়াদা দিয়েছিলেন তোমরা কি তা সত্য পেয়েছো?’ তারা বলবে: ‘হ্যাঁ।’ তখন একজন ঘোষণাকারী তাদের মাঝে ঘোষণা করবে: ‘‘যালিমদের উপর আল্লাহর লানত,
Those who hindered (men) from the Path of Allah, and would seek to make it crooked, and they were disbelievers in the Hereafter.
Allatheena yasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bialakhirati kafiroona
যারা আল্লাহর পথে বাধা সৃষ্টি করতো এবং তাতে বক্রতা খুঁজে বেড়াতো এবং তারা আখিরাতের প্রতি ছিলো অবিশ্বাসী - ।’’
And between them will be a (barrier) screen and on Al-A'raf (a wall with elevated places) will be men (whose good and evil deeds would be equal in scale), who would recognise all (of the Paradise and Hell people), by their marks (the dwellers of Paradise by their white faces and the dwellers of Hell by their black faces), they will call out to the dwellers of Paradise, "Salamun 'Alaikum" (Peace be on you), and at that time they (men on Al-A'raf) will not yet have entered it (Paradise), but they will hope to enter (it) with certainty.
Wabaynahuma hijabun waAAala alaAArafi rijalun yaAArifoona kullan biseemahum wanadaw ashaba aljannati an salamun AAalaykum lam yadkhulooha wahum yatmaAAoona
(জান্নাত ও জাহান্নাম) উভয়ের মাঝে থাকবে একটি হিজাব (পর্দা), আর কিছু লোক থাকবে আ’রাফে। তারা সবাইকে চিনবে তাদের লক্ষণ দেখেই। তারা জান্নাতবাসীদের ডেকে বলে: আপনাদের প্রতি সালাম। তারা তখনো জান্নাতে দাখিল হয়নি, তবে প্রত্যাশা করবে।
And when their eyes will be turned towards the dwellers of the Fire, they will say: "Our Lord! Place us not with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)."
Waitha surifat absaruhum tilqaa ashabi alnnari qaloo rabbana la tajAAalna maAAa alqawmi alththalimeena
আর যখন তাদের দৃষ্টি ফিরিয়ে দেয়া হবে জাহান্নামবাসীদের প্রতি, তখন তারা বলবে: ‘আমাদের প্রভু! আমাদেরকে এই যালিম লোকদের সাথি করোনা।’
And the men on Al-A'raf (the wall) will call unto the men whom they would recognise by their marks, saying: "Of what benefit to you were your great numbers (and hoards of wealth), and your arrogance (against Faith)?"
Wanada ashabu alaAArafi rijalan yaAArifoonahum biseemahum qaloo ma aghna AAankum jamAAukum wama kuntum tastakbiroona
আরাফবাসী (জাহান্নামের) যেসব লোককে লক্ষণ দেখে চিনবে তাদের ডেকে বলবে: ‘তোমাদের দল এবং তোমাদের অহংকার তোমাদের কোনো কাজে এলোনা।’
Are they those, of whom you swore that Allah would never show them mercy. (Behold! It has been said to them): "Enter Paradise, no fear shall be on you, nor shall you grieve."
Ahaolai allatheena aqsamtum la yanaluhumu Allahu birahmatin odkhuloo aljannata la khawfun AAalaykum wala antum tahzanoona
এরা কি তারা নয় যাদের সম্পর্কে তোমরা শপথ করে বলতে, এদের প্রতি দয়া করবেন না। অথচ তাদেরকেই বলা হয়েছে: ‘তোমরা দাখিল হও জান্নাতে, তোমাদের কোনো ভয়ভীতিও নেই আর দুঃখ দুশ্চিন্তাও নেই।’
And the dwellers of the Fire will call to the dwellers of Paradise: "Pour on us some water or anything that Allah has provided you with." They will say: "Both (water and provision) Allah has forbidden to the disbelievers."
Wanada ashabu alnari ashaba aljannati an afeedoo AAalayna mina almai aw mimma razaqakumu Allahu qaloo inna Allaha harramahuma AAala alkafireena
জাহান্নামবাসী জান্নাতবাসীকে ডেকে বলবে: ‘আমাদের দিকে কিছু পানি ঢেলে দাও, অথবা তোমাদের যে রিযিক দিয়েছেন তা থেকে কিছু দাও।’ তখন তারা বলবে: ‘‘ এদুটি জিনিসই হারাম করে দিয়েছেন কাফিরদের জন্যে,
"Who took their religion as an amusement and play, and the life of the world deceived them." So this Day We shall forget them as they forgot their meeting of this Day, and as they used to reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations).
Allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrathumu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma nansahum kama nasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoo biayatina yajhadoona
যারা তাদের দীনকে খেল তামাশা হিসেবে গ্রহণ করেছিল এবং দুনিয়ার জীবন যাদেরকে প্রতারিত করে রেখেছিল।’’ সুতরাং আজ আমরা তাদের ভুলে থাকবো, যেভাবে তারা (দুনিয়ার জীবনে) তাদের এই দিনের সাক্ষাতকে ভুলে থেকেছিল এবং যেভাবে তারা আমাদের আয়াতকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল।
Certainly, We have brought them a Book (the Qur'an) which We have explained in detail with knowledge, - a guidance and a mercy to a people who believe.
Walaqad jinahum bikitabin fassalnahu AAala AAilmin hudan warahmatan liqawmin yuminoona
আমরা তাদের এমন একটি কিতাব পৌঁছিয়েছিলাম, যা ছিলো পূর্ণ জ্ঞানের বিশদ ব্যাখ্যা এবং হিদায়াত ও রহমত বিশ্বাসীদের জন্যে।
Await they just for the final fullfilment of the event? On the Day the event is finally fulfilled (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), those who neglected it before will say: "Verily, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth, now are there any intercessors for us that they might intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back (to the first life of the world) so that we might do (good) deeds other than those (evil) deeds which we used to do?" Verily, they have lost their ownselves (i.e. destroyed themselves) and that which they used to fabricate (invoking and worshipping others besides Allah) has gone away from them.
Hal yanthuroona illa taweelahu yawma yatee taweeluhu yaqoolu allatheena nasoohu min qablu qad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi fahal lana min shufaAAaa fayashfaAAoo lana aw nuraddu fanaAAmala ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu qad khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona
তারা কি এর পরিণামের অপেক্ষায় আছে? যেদিন তার পরিণামকাল এসে উপস্থিত হবে সেদিন সেটিকে ভুলে থাকা লোকেরা বলবে: ‘আমাদের কাছে আমাদের প্রভুর রসূলরা সত্যবার্তা নিয়ে এসেছিলেন, এখন শাফায়াতকারী পাওয়া যাবে কি, যারা আমাদের জন্যে শাফায়াত করবে? অথবা আমাদের দুনিয়ায় ফেরত পাঠানো হোক। আমরা অবশ্যি এতোদিন যা আমল করতাম তার চাইতে ভিন্নতর আমল করবো।’ এরা নিজেরাই নিজেদেরকে ক্ষতির মধ্যে নিক্ষেপ করে এসেছে এবং তারা যেসব মিথ্যা রচনা করেছিল সবই উধাও হয়ে গেছে।
Indeed your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and then He rose over (Istawa) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely, His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)!
Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yughshee allayla alnnahara yatlubuhu hatheethan waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujooma musakhkharatin biamrihi ala lahu alkhalqu waalamru tabaraka Allahu rabbu alAAalameena
তোমাদের প্রভু তো তিনি, যিনি মহাকাশ এবং এই পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করেছেন ছয়টি কালে, অতপর সমাসীন হয়েছেন আরশের উপর। তিনি দিনকে ঢেকে দেন রাত দিয়ে। তারা পরস্পরকে অবিরামভাবে দ্রুত অনুসরণ করে। সূর্য, চাঁদ এবং তারকারাজি তাঁরই নির্দেশের অধীন। সাবধান, সৃষ্টিও তাঁর, নির্দেশও তাঁর। মহাকল্যাণের মালিক আল্লাহ্ই মহাজগতের প্রভু।
Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors.
OdAAoo rabbakum tadarruAAan wakhufyatan innahu la yuhibbu almuAAtadeena
তোমাদের প্রভুকে ডাকো বিনয়ের সাথে এবং গোপনে। সীমালংঘনকারীদের তিনি পছন্দ করেন না।
And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order, and invoke Him with fear and hope. Surely, Allah's Mercy is (ever) near unto the good-doers.
Wala tufsidoo fee alardi baAAda islahiha waodAAoohu khawfan watamaAAan inna rahmata Allahi qareebun mina almuhsineena
এসলাহের পর পৃথিবীতে ফাসাদ সৃষ্টি করোনা। তাঁকে ডাকো ভয় এবং আশা নিয়ে। অবশ্যি আল্লাহর রহমত কল্যাণপরায়ণদের খুব নিকটে।
And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed.
Wahuwa allathee yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi hatta itha aqallat sahaban thiqalan suqnahu libaladin mayyitin faanzalna bihi almaa faakhrajna bihi min kulli alththamarati kathalika nukhriju almawta laAAallakum tathakkaroona
তিনি তাঁর রহমত বর্ষণের আগে সুসংবাদ বাহক হিসেবে বাতাস পাঠান, অতপর তা যখন ঘন মেঘ বইয়ে আনে, তখন আমরা তা মরা শুকনো জমিনের দিকে পাঠাই এবং সেখানে আমরা নাযিল করি (আমাদের রহমতের) পানি (বৃষ্টি)। অতপর তা থেকে আমরা উৎপন্ন করি সব ধরণের ফল - ফসল। এভাবেই আমরা জীবন দান করে বের করে আনবো মৃতদেরকে। আশা করা যায় তোমরা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করবে।
The vegetation of a good land comes forth (easily) by the Permission of its Lord; and that which is bad, brings forth nothing but (a little) with difficulty. Thus do We explain variously the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) for a people who give thanks.
Waalbaladu alttayyibu yakhruju nabatuhu biithni rabbihi waallathee khabutha la yakhruju illa nakidan kathalika nusarrifu alayati liqawmin yashkuroona
উত্তম ভূমি থেকে তার প্রভুর অনুমতিক্রমে ফসল উৎপন্ন হয়, আর নিকৃষ্ট ভূমিতে প্রচন্ড পরিশ্রম ছাড়া কিছুই জন্মায়না। এভাবেই শোকরগুজার লোকদের জন্যে বিভিন্নভাবে বর্ণনা করেন তাঁর আয়াত।
Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha illallah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!"
Laqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
আমরা নূহকে পাঠিয়েছিলাম তার কওমের কাছে। সে তাদের বলেছিল: হে আমার কওম! তোমরা এক আল্লাহর দাসত্ব করো, তিনি ছাড়া তোমাদের আর কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই। আমি তোমাদের উপর এক মহাদিনের আযাবের আশংকা করছি।
The leaders of his people said: "Verily, we see you in plain error."
Qala almalao min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee dalalin mubeenin
তখন তার কওমের নেতারা বলেছিল: ‘আমরা দেখতে পাচ্ছি, তুমি সুস্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতে রয়েছো।’
[Nuh (Noah)] said: "O my people! There is no error in me, but I am a Messenger from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)!
Qala ya qawmi laysa bee dalalatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena
সে বলেছিল: ‘‘হে আমার কওম! আমার মধ্যে কোনো বিভ্রান্তি নেই, বরং আমি রাববুল আলামিনের একজন রসূল।
"I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you. And I know from Allah what you know not.
Oballighukum risalati rabbee waansahu lakum waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
আমি তো তোমাদের কাছে পৌঁছে দিচ্ছি আমার প্রভুর বার্তা। আমি তোমাদের কল্যাণকামী। আমি আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে সেসব বিষয় জানি, যা তোমরা জানোনা।
"Do you wonder that there has come to you a Reminder from your Lord through a man from amongst you, that he may warn you, so that you may fear Allah and that you may receive (His) Mercy?"
AwaAAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum walitattaqoo walaAAallakum turhamoona
তোমরা কি তাজ্জব হচ্ছো যে, তোমাদেরই একজনের মাধ্যমে তোমাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের কাছে একটি উপদেশ এসেছে - যাতে করে সে তোমাদের সতর্ক করতে পারে এবং যেনো তোমরা সতর্ক হও আর যেনো তোমরা রহমত প্রাপ্ত হও?’’
But they belied him, so We saved him and those along with him in the ship, and We drowned those who belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). They were indeed a blind people.
Fakaththaboohu faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu fee alfulki waaghraqna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina innahum kanoo qawman AAameena
কিন্তু তারা তাকে মিথ্যা আখ্যায়িত করে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে। ফলে আমরা তাকে আর তার সাথে যারা নৌযানে উঠেছিল তাদেরকে নাজাত দেই, আর ডুবিয়ে দেই তাদেরকে যারা প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল আমাদের আয়াত। মূলত, তারা ছিলো একটি অন্ধ কওম।
And to 'Ad (people, We sent) their brother Hud. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha illallah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Will you not fear (Allah)?"
Waila AAadin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona
আমরা আদ জাতির কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলাম তাদেরই ভাই হুদকে। সে তাদের বলেছিল: ‘হে আমার কওম! তোমরা এক আল্লাহর ইবাদত - আনুগত্য করো, তিনি ছাড়া তোমাদের আর কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই। তোমরা কি সতর্ক হবেনা?’
The leaders of those who disbelieved among his people said: "Verily, we see you in foolishness, and verily, we think you are one of the liars."
Qala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee safahatin wainna lanathunnuka mina alkathibeena
তার জাতির প্রধানরা যারা ছিলো তারা বলেছিল: ‘আমাদের মতে তুমি অবশ্যি বোকামিতে নিমজ্জিত রয়েছো এবং আমাদের ধারণা, তুমি একজন মিথ্যাবাদী।’
(Hud) said: "O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but (I am) a Messenger from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)!
Qala ya qawmi laysa bee safahatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena
সে বলেছিল: ‘‘হে আমার কওম! আমার মধ্যে কোনো বোকামি নেই, বরং আমি রাববুল আলামিনের পক্ষ থেকে একজন রসূল।
"I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy adviser (or well-wisher) for you.
Oballighukum risalati rabbee waana lakum nasihun ameenun
আমি তো তোমাদের কাছে আমার প্রভুর বার্তা পৌঁছে দিচ্ছি, আর আমি তোমাদের জন্যে একজন বিশ্বস্ত কল্যাণকামী।
"Do you wonder that there has come to you a Reminder (and an advice) from your Lord through a man from amongst you to warn you? And remember that He made you successors after the people of Nuh (Noah) and increased you amply in stature. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah so that you may be ."
AwaAAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi qawmi noohin wazadakum fee alkhalqi bastatan faothkuroo alaa Allahi laAAallakum tuflihoona
তোমরা কি তাজ্জব হচ্ছো যে, তোমাদেরই একজনের মাধ্যমে তোমাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের কাছে একটি উপদেশ এসেছে - যাতে করে সে তোমাদের সতর্ক করতে পারে? স্মরণ করো যখন নূহের কওমকে (ধ্বংস করার) পর তিনি তোমাদেরকে তাদের স্থলাভিষিক্ত করেছেন এবং দৈহিক গঠনে তোমাদেরকে অধিক হৃষ্টপুষ্ট ও বলিষ্ঠ করেছেন। সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহসমূহের কথা স্মরণ করো, যাতে করে তোমরা সফলতা অর্জন করো।’’
They said: "You have come to us that we should worship Allah Alone and forsake that which our fathers used to worship. So bring us that wherewith you have threatened us if you are of the truthful."
Qaloo ajitana linaAAbuda Allaha wahdahu wanathara ma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena
তারা বলেছিল: ‘তুমি কি আমাদের কাছে এজন্যে এসেছো যে, আমরা কেবল এক আল্লাহর ইবাদত - আনুগত্য করবো আর আমাদের পূর্ব পুরুষরা যাদের ইবাদত করতো তাদের পরিত্যাগ করবো? সুতরাং তুমি যদি সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকো, তবে আমাদেরকে যে জিনিসের ওয়াদা দিচ্ছো তা এনে দেখাও।’
(Hud) said: "Torment and wrath have already fallen on you from your Lord. Dispute you with me over names which you have named - you and your fathers - with no authority from Allah? Then wait, I am with you among those who wait."
Qala qad waqaAAa AAalaykum min rabbikum rijsun waghadabun atujadiloonanee fee asmain sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma nazzala Allahu biha min sultanin faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
সে বলেছিল: ‘তোমাদের উপর তোমাদের প্রভুর শাস্তি এবং গজব আপতিত হবেই। তোমরা কি আমার সাথে এমন কতগুলো নাম সম্পর্কে বিবাদ করছো, যে নামগুলো রেখেছো তোমরা এবং তোমাদের পূর্ব পুরুষরা? তো সেগুলোর পক্ষে কোনো প্রমাণ পাঠাননি। সুতরাং অপেক্ষা করো, আমিও তোমাদের সাথে অপেক্ষায় থাকলাম।’
So We saved him and those who were with him by a mercy from Us, and We cut the roots of those who belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.); and they were not believers.
Faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu birahmatin minna waqataAAna dabira allatheena kaththaboo biayatina wama kanoo mumineena
অবশেষে আমরা তাকে (হুদকে) এবং তার সাথিদেরকে আমাদের রহমতে নাজাত দিয়েছি, আর শেকড় কেটে দিয়েছি তাদের, যারা প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল আমাদের আয়াত এবং যারা ছিলনা।
And to Thamud (people, We sent) their brother Salih. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha illallah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Indeed there has come to you a clear sign (the miracle of the coming out of a huge she-camel from the midst of a rock) from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign unto you; so you leave her to graze in Allah's earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a painful torment should seize you.
Waila thamooda akhahum salihan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatun min rabbikum hathihi naqatu Allahi lakum ayatan fatharooha takul fee ardi Allahi wala tamassooha bisooin fayakhuthakum AAathabun aleemun
আর আমরা সামুদ জাতির কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলাম তাদের ভাই সালেহ্কে। সে তাদের বলেছিল: ‘‘হে আমার কওম! তোমরা এক আল্লাহর ইবাদত (আনুগত্য, দাসত্ব ও উপাসনা) করো। তিনি ছাড়া তোমাদের আর কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই। তোমাদের কাছে তোমাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ এসেছে। আল্লাহর এই উটনি তোমাদের জন্যে একটি নিদর্শন। এটিকে আল্লাহর জমিনে চরে খেতে দাও। কোনো বদ নিয়্যতে এটিকে স্পর্শও করোনা, করলে তোমাদের পাকড়াও করবে বেদনাদায়ক আযাব।
And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth."
Waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi AAadin wabawwaakum fee alardi tattakhithoona min suhooliha qusooran watanhitoona aljibala buyootan faothkuroo alaa Allahi wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena
স্মরণ করো, আদ জাতির পরে তিনি তোমাদেরকে (তাদের) স্থলাভিষিক্ত করেছেন এবং এমনভাবে তোমাদেরকে ভূ - খন্ডে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছেন যে, তোমরা সমতল ভূমিতে প্রাসাদ নির্মাণ করছো। আর পাহাড় কেটে বানাচ্ছো ঘর। অতএব তোমরা (তোমাদের প্রতি) আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ স্মরণ করো এবং ভূ - খন্ডে ফাসাদ সৃষ্টি করে বেড়িয়োনা।’’
The leaders of those who were arrogant among his people said to those who were counted weak - to such of them as believed: "Know you that Salih is one sent from his Lord." They said: "We indeed believe in that with which he has been sent."
Qala almalao allatheena istakbaroo min qawmihi lillatheena istudAAifoo liman amana minhum ataAAlamoona anna salihan mursalun min rabbihi qaloo inna bima orsila bihi muminoona
তার কওমের দাম্ভিক নেতারা দুর্বল করে রাখা ঈমানদারদের বলেছিল: ‘তোমরা কি এটা জানো যে, সালেহ তার প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে প্রেরিত?’ তারা বলেছিল: ‘হ্যাঁ, তাঁকে যা দিয়ে পাঠানো হয়েছে, আমরা তাতে ।’
Those who were arrogant said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that which you believe in."
Qala allatheena istakbaroo inna biallathee amantum bihi kafiroona
তখন দাম্ভিকরা বলেছিল: ‘তোমরা যা বিশ্বাস করো, আমরা তা অস্বীকার করি।’
So they killed the she-camel and insolently defied the Commandment of their Lord, and said: "O Salih! Bring about your threats if you are indeed one of the Messengers (of Allah)."
FaAAaqaroo alnnaqata waAAataw AAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihu itina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina almursaleena
অতপর তারা সেই উটনিকে হত্যা করে, আর অবাধ্য হয় আল্লাহর আদেশের এবং বলে: ‘হে সালেহ্! তুমি যদি একজন রসূলই হয়ে থাকো, তবে যে শাস্তির ভয় আমাদের দেখিয়েছো তা নিয়ে আসো।’
So the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes.
Faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena
তারপর তাদের পাকড়াও করে এক প্রচন্ড ভূমিকম্প। ফলে তাদের সকাল হয় নিজেদের ঘরে উপুড় হয়ে পড়ে থাকা অবস্থায়।
Then he [Salih] turned from them, and said: "O my people! I have indeed conveyed to you the Message of my Lord, and have given you good advice but you like not good advisers."
Fatawalla AAanhum waqala ya qawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalata rabbee wanasahtu lakum walakin la tuhibboona alnnasiheena
তখন সে (সালেহ্) তাদের থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে বলেছিল: ‘হে আমার কওম! আমি তোমাদের কাছে আমার প্রভুর বার্তা পৌঁছে দিয়েছিলাম এবং তোমাদের জন্যে কল্যাণকর নসিহত করেছিলাম, কিন্তু তোমরা কল্যাণকামীদের পছন্দ করোনা।’
And (remember) Lut (Lot), when he said to his people: "Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn)?
Walootan ith qala liqawmihi atatoona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena
আর লুতকেও (আমরা পাঠিয়েছিলাম একটি জাতির কাছে)। সে তার কওমকে বলেছিল: ‘‘তোমরা কি এমন কুকর্মেই লিপ্ত থাকবে, যে কর্মে তোমাদের আগে জগতের কোনো লোকই লিপ্ত হয়নি?
"Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins)."
Innakum latatoona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisai bal antum qawmun musrifoona
তোমরা যৌন তৃপ্তির জন্যে নারীদের বাদ দিয়ে পুরুষদের কাছে যাচ্ছো। তোমরা তো এক চরম সীমালংঘনকারী জাতি।’’
And the answer of his people was only that they said: "Drive them out of your town, these are indeed men who want to be pure (from sins)!"
Wama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoohum min qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoona
জবাবে তার কওম কেবল একথাই বলেছিল: ‘এদেরকে তোমাদের জনবসতি থেকে বের করে দাও, এরা বড় পাক পবিত্র থাকতে চায়।’
Then We saved him and his family, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind (in the torment).
Faanjaynahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena
পরিণতিতে আমরা তাকে (লুতকে) এবং তার পরিবার পরিজনকে নাজাত দেই তার স্ত্রীকে ছাড়া, কারণ সে (মহিলা) ছিলো পেছনে থাকাদেরই একজন।
And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists and sinners).
Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almujrimeena
আর তাদের উপর আমরা (পাথর) বর্ষণ করেছিলাম ভীষণ বর্ষণ। ফলে অপরাধীদের পরিণতি কী রকম হয়েছিল লক্ষ্য করে দেখো।
And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. [La ilaha illallah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)]." Verily, a clear proof (sign) from your Lord has come unto you; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not men in their things, and do not do mischief on the earth after it has been set in order, that will be better for you, if you are believers.
Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatun min rabbikum faawfoo alkayla waalmeezana wala tabkhasoo alnnasa ashyaahum wala tufsidoo fee alardi baAAda islahiha thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum mumineena
আর মাদায়ানের অধিবাসীদের কাছে আমরা পাঠিয়েছিলাম তাদের ভাই শুয়াইবকে। সে তাদের বলেছিল: ‘‘হে আমার কওম! তোমরা এক আল্লাহর ইবাদত করো, তোমাদের জন্যে তিনি ছাড়া আর কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই। তোমাদের কাছে তোমাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ এসেছে, অতএব মাপ ও ওজন ঠিকঠিকভাবে পূর্ণ করে দেবে। মানুষকে তাদের প্রাপ্য জিনিস কম দেবেনা এবং শান্তি শৃংখলা প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবার পর দেশে ফাসাদ (বিশৃংখলা) সৃষ্টি করবেনা। এটাই তোমাদের জন্যে কল্যাণের পথ যদি তোমরা হও।
"And sit not on every road, threatening, and hindering from the Path of Allah those who believe in Him, and seeking to make it crooked. And remember when you were but few, and He multiplied you. And see what was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupters, liars).
Wala taqAAudoo bikulli siratin tooAAidoona watasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi man amana bihi watabghoonaha AAiwajan waothkuroo ith kuntum qaleelan fakaththarakum waonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena
যারা ঈমান এনেছে তাদের প্রতি ত্রাস সৃষ্টি করার জন্যে তোমরা পথে পথে বসে থেকোনা, তাদেরকে আল্লাহর পথে বাধা সৃষ্টি করোনা এবং তাতে বক্রতা সন্ধান করোনা। স্মরণ করো, যখন তোমরা সংখ্যায় ছিলে গুটি কয়েক, তারপর তোমাদের সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি করে দিয়েছিলেন। আরো লক্ষ্য করে দেখো, অতীতে ফাসাদ সৃষ্টিকারীদের কী পরিণতি হয়েছিল?
"And if there is a party of you who believe in that with which I have been sent and a party who do not believe, so be patient until Allah judges between us, and He is the Best of judges."
Wain kana taifatun minkum amanoo biallathee orsiltu bihi wataifatun lam yuminoo faisbiroo hatta yahkuma Allahu baynana wahuwa khayru alhakimeena
আমি যা নিয়ে প্রেরিত হয়েছি তার প্রতি যদি তোমাদের একটি দল ঈমান আনে এবং আরেকটি দল যদি ঈমান না এনে থাকে, তবে অপেক্ষা করো আমাদের মাঝে ফায়সালা করে না দেয়া পর্যন্ত। প্রকৃতপক্ষে তিনিই সর্বোত্তম ফায়সালাকারী।’’
The chiefs of those who were arrogant among his people said: "We shall certainly drive you out, O Shu'aib, and those who have believed with you from our town, or else you (all) shall return to our religion." He said: "Even though we hate it!?"
Qala almalao allatheena istakbaroo min qawmihi lanukhrijannaka ya shuAAaybu waallatheena amanoo maAAaka min qaryatina aw lataAAoodunna fee millatina qala awalaw kunna kariheena
(তার বক্তব্যের জবাবে) তার কওমের অহংকারী নেতারা বলেছিল: ‘হে শুয়াইব! আমরা তোমাকে এবং তোমার সাথে যারা ঈমান এনেছে তাদেরকে আমাদের জনপদ থেকে বের করে দেবো, অথবা তোমাদের ফিরিয়ে আনবো আমাদের আদর্শে।’ সে (শুয়াইব) বলেছিল: ‘‘আমরা যদি এটাকে ঘৃণা করি, তবু?
"We should have invented a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion, after Allah has rescued us from it. And it is not for us to return to it unless Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord comprehends all things in His Knowledge. In Allah (Alone) we put our trust. Our Lord! Judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the Best of those who give judgment."
Qadi iftarayna AAala Allahi kathiban in AAudna fee millatikum baAAda ith najjana Allahu minha wama yakoonu lana an naAAooda feeha illa an yashaa Allahu rabbuna wasiAAa rabbuna kulla shayin AAilman AAala Allahi tawakkalna rabbana iftah baynana wabayna qawmina bialhaqqi waanta khayru alfatiheena
তোমাদের ধর্মের আদর্শ থেকে আমাদের নাজাত দেয়ার পর আবার যদি আমরা তাতে ফিরে যাই, তবে তো আমরা আল্লাহর প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করবো। আমরা তাতে ফিরে যেতে পারিনা, তবে আমাদের প্রভু চাইলে ভিন্ন কথা। আমাদের প্রভুর জ্ঞান সব কিছু পরিব্যাপ্ত। আমরা তাওয়াক্কুল করেছি আল্লাহর উপর। হে আমাদের প্রভু! তুমি আমাদের ও আমাদের কওমের মাঝে হকভাবে ফায়সালা করে দাও, তুমিই সর্বোত্তম ফায়সালাকারী।’’
The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people): "If you follow Shu'aib, be sure then you will be the losers!"
Waqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi laini ittabaAAtum shuAAayban innakum ithan lakhasiroona
তার কওমের নেতারা (জনগণকে) বলেছিল: ‘তোমরা যদি শুয়াইবের অনুসরণ করো, তবে অবশ্যি তোমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবে।’
So the earthquake seized them and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes.
Faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena
অতএব তাদের পাকড়াও করে এক প্রচন্ড ভূমিকম্প। ফলে তাদের সকাল হয় নিজেদের ঘরে উপুড় হয়ে পড়ে থাকা অবস্থায়।
Those who belied Shu'aib, became as if they had never dwelt there (in their homes). Those who belied Shu'aib, they were the losers.
Allatheena kaththaboo shuAAayban kaan lam yaghnaw feeha allatheena kaththaboo shuAAayban kanoo humu alkhasireena
যারা শুয়াইবকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল, তারা যেনো কখনো সেখানে বসবাসই করেনি। যারা শুয়াইবকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল তারাই হয় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।
Then he (Shu'aib) turned from them and said: "O my people! I have indeed conveyed my Lord's Messages unto you and I have given you good advice. Then how can I sorrow for the disbelieving people's (destruction)."
Fatawalla AAanhum waqala ya qawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalati rabbee wanasahtu lakum fakayfa asa AAala qawmin kafireena
ফলে সে (শুয়াইব) তাদের থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং বলে: ‘হে আমার কওম! আমি তোমাদের কাছে আমার প্রভুর বার্তা পৌঁছে দিয়েছি এবং তোমাদের জন্যে কল্যাণের নসিহত করেছি। সুতরাং এখন আমি কেমন করে কুফুরিকে আঁকড়ে ধরে থাকা লোকদের জন্যে আক্ষেপ করি?’
And We sent no Prophet unto any town (and they denied him), but We seized its people with suffering from extreme poverty (or loss in wealth) and loss of health (and calamities), so that they might humiliate themselves (and repent to Allah).
Wama arsalna fee qaryatin min nabiyyin illa akhathna ahlaha bialbasai waalddarrai laAAallahum yaddarraAAoona
আমরা যখনই কোনো জনপদে কোনো নবী পাঠিয়েছি, সেখানকার অধিবাসীদের দারিদ্র ও দুঃখ কষ্টে ফেলেছি, যাতে করে তারা বিনয়াবনত হয়।
Then We changed the evil for the good, until they increased in number and in wealth, and said: "Our fathers were touched with evil (loss of health and calamities) and with good (prosperity)." So We seized them all of a sudden while they were unaware.
Thumma baddalna makana alssayyiati alhasanata hatta AAafaw waqaloo qad massa abaana alddarrao waalssarrao faakhathnahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
তারপর আমরা দুরাবস্থাকে ভালো অবস্থায় বদল করে দেই, এমনকি তারা প্রাচুর্যের অধিকারী হয় এবং বলে: ‘আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষরা অনেক কষ্ট ও স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য ভোগ করেছিল।’ তখন আকস্মিক আমরা তাদের পাকড়াও করি এবং তারা টেরও পায়না।
And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes).
Walaw anna ahla alqura amanoo waittaqaw lafatahna AAalayhim barakatin mina alssamai waalardi walakin kaththaboo faakhathnahum bima kanoo yaksiboona
জনপদবাসী যদি ঈমান আনতো এবং তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করতো, তাহলে অবশ্যি আমরা তাদের জন্যে খুলে দিতাম আসমান ও জমিনের বরকতের দ্বার। কিন্তু তারা (নবীদের শিক্ষা) প্রত্যাখ্যান করে এবং আমরাও তাদের কর্মকান্ডের জন্যে তাদের পাকড়াও করি।
Did the people of the towns then feel secure against the coming of Our punishment by night while they were asleep?
Afaamina ahlu alqura an yatiyahum basuna bayatan wahum naimoona
জনপদের অধিবাসীরা কি এই ভয় রাখেনা যে, আমার শাস্তি তাদের উপর এসে পড়তে পারে রাত্রে যখন তারা থাকবে ঘুমন্ত?
Or, did the people of the towns then feel secure against the coming of Our punishment in the forenoon while they were playing?
Awa amina ahlu alqura an yatiyahum basuna duhan wahum yalAAaboona
অথবা শহরবাসীরা কি এই ভয়ও রাখেনা যে, তাদের উপর আমার শাস্তি এসে পড়বে সকাল বেলা আর তারা থাকবে খেলায় নিরত?
Did they then feel secure against the Plan of Allah? None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people who are the losers.
Afaaminoo makra Allahi fala yamanu makra Allahi illa alqawmu alkhasiroona
তারা কি ভয় পায়না আল্লাহর কৌশলকে? আল্লাহর কৌশলকে কেউই নিরাপদ মনে করেনা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত লোকেরা ছাড়া।
Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not?
Awalam yahdi lillatheena yarithoona alarda min baAAdi ahliha an law nashao asabnahum bithunoobihim wanatbaAAu AAala quloobihim fahum la yasmaAAoona
কোনো জনপদে তার অধিবাসীদের ধ্বংস হবার পর যারা তার উত্তরাধিকারী হয়, তারা কি এই দিশাটাও পায়না যে, আমরা চাইলে তাদের পাপের জন্যে তাদের শাস্তি দিতে পারি? অথবা মোহর মেরে দিতে পারি তাদের অন্তরে, যার ফলে তারা আর শুনবেনা?
Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from every kind of religious guidance).
Tilka alqura naqussu AAalayka min anbaiha walaqad jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kanoo liyuminoo bima kaththaboo min qablu kathalika yatbaAAu Allahu AAala quloobi alkafireena
সেই সব জনপদের কিছু সংবাদ আমরা তোমার কাছে বর্ণনা করেছি। মূলত, তাদের কাছে এসেছিল তাদের রসূলরা সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণসমূহ নিয়ে, কিন্তু যা তারা আগে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল তার প্রতি আর তারা ঈমান আনার ছিলনা। এভাবেই মোহর মেরে দেন কাফিরদের হৃদয়ে।
And most of them We found not true to their covenant, but most of them We found indeed Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
Wama wajadna liaktharihim min AAahdin wain wajadna aktharahum lafasiqeena
আমরা অধিকাংশকেই অংগীকার পালনকারী পাইনি। আমরা তাদের অধিকাংশকেই পেয়েছি ফাসিক (সীমালংঘনকারী পাপাচারী)।
Then after them We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupters).
Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihim moosa biayatina ila firAAawna wamalaihi fathalamoo biha faonuthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena
তাদের পরে আমরা মূসাকে পাঠিয়েছিলাম আমাদের নিদর্শনসমূহ নিয়ে ফেরাউন এবং তার পারিষদবর্গের কাছে। কিন্তু তারা সেগুলো প্রত্যাখ্যান করে। এখন দেখো, সেসব ফাসাদ সৃষ্টিকারীদের পরিণতি কী হয়েছিল?
And Musa (Moses) said: "O Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, I am a Messenger from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
Waqala moosa ya firAAawnu innee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena
মূসা বলেছিল: ‘‘হে ফেরাউন! আমি মহাজগতের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে একজন রসূল।
"Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allah but the truth. Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof. So let the Children of Israel depart along with me."
Haqeequn AAala an la aqoola AAala Allahi illa alhaqqa qad jitukum bibayyinatin min rabbikum faarsil maAAiya banee israeela
সত্যকথা হলো, আমি আল্লাহর ব্যাপারে সত্য ছাড়া বলবোনা। আমি তোমাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ নিয়ে তোমাদের কাছে এসেছি, সুতরাং বনি ইসরাঈলকে আমার সাথে যেতে দাও।’’
[Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "If you have come with a sign, show it forth, if you are one of those who tell the truth."
Qala in kunta jita biayatin fati biha in kunta mina alssadiqeena
তখন সে বলেছিল: ‘তুমি কোনো নিদর্শন যদি এনেই থাকো, সত্যবাদী হলে তা প্রমাণ করো।’
Then [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick and behold! it was a serpent, manifest!
Faalqa AAasahu faitha hiya thuAAbanun mubeenun
সে (মূসা) তখন তার লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করে, আর সাথে সাথে তা জাজ্জ্বল্যমান অজগর হয়ে যায়।
And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white (with radiance) for the beholders.
WanazaAAa yadahu faitha hiya baydao lilnnathireena
আর সে তার (বগলে হাত ঢুকিয়ে) হাত বের করলো, তক্ষুনি তা দর্শকদের জন্যে ধবধবে সাদা হয়ে গেলো।
The chiefs of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "This is indeed a well-versed sorcerer;
Qala almalao min qawmi firAAawna inna hatha lasahirun AAaleemun
ফেরাউনের কওম প্রধানরা বললো: ‘‘এতো অবশ্যি এক পন্ডিত ম্যাজেসিয়ান।
"He wants to get you out of your land, so what do you advise?"
Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum famatha tamuroona
সে চায় তোমাদেরকে তোমাদের দেশ থেকে খারিজ করে (তাড়িয়ে) দিতে। এখন বলো, তোমরা কী পরামর্শ দিচ্ছো?’’
They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers to the cities to collect -
Qaloo arjih waakhahu waarsil fee almadaini hashireena
তারা বললো: ‘‘তাকে এবং তার ভাইকে সামান্য অবকাশ দিন আর এদিকে (ম্যাজেসিয়ানদের ডেকে আনতে) শহর গুলোতে লোক পাঠিয়ে দিন।
"That they bring up to you all well-versed sorcerers."
Yatooka bikulli sahirin AAaleemin
তারা দক্ষ ম্যাজেসিয়ানদের আপনার কাছে এনে হাজির করবে।’’
And so the sorcerers came to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). They said: "Indeed there will be a (good) reward for us if we are the victors."
Wajaa alssaharatu firAAawna qaloo inna lana laajran in kunna nahnu alghalibeena
ম্যাজেসিয়ানরা ফেরাউনের কাছে এসেই বললো: ‘আমরা যদি জয়ী হই আমাদের জন্যে পুরস্কার থাকবে তো?’
He said: "Yes, and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me)."
Qala naAAam wainnakum lamina almuqarrabeena
সে বললো: হ্যাঁ (অবশ্যি থাকবে) তাছাড়া তোমরা আমার নিকটের লোকদের অন্তরভুক্ত হবে।
They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?"
Qaloo ya moosa imma an tulqiya waimma an nakoona nahnu almulqeena
তারা বললো: ‘মূসা! আপনি আগে নিক্ষেপ করবেন, নাকি আমরাই হবো পয়লা নিক্ষেপকারী?’
He [Musa (Moses)] said: "Throw you (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they displayed a great magic.
Qala alqoo falamma alqaw saharoo aAAyuna alnnasi waistarhaboohum wajaoo bisihrin AAatheemin
সে বললো: ‘তোমরাই (আগে) নিক্ষেপ করো।’ তারপর তারা (দড়ি এবং লাঠি) নিক্ষেপ করলো, লোকদের চোখে ধাঁধাঁ সৃষ্টি করলো এবং তাদের মধ্যে আতংক সৃষ্টি করে দিলো। আসলেই তারা বড় রকমের ম্যাজিক দেখিয়েছিল।
And We revealed to Musa (Moses) (saying): "Throw your stick," and behold! It swallowed up straight away all the falsehoods which they showed.
Waawhayna ila moosa an alqi AAasaka faitha hiya talqafu ma yafikoona
তখন আমরা মূসার কাছে অহি করলাম: ‘তোমার লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করো।’ সাথে সাথে সেটি তাদের মিথ্যা সৃষ্টিগুলো গিলে ফেলতে থাকলো।
Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect.
FawaqaAAa alhaqqu wabatala ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
ফলে সত্য প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়ে গেলো এবং বাতিল প্রমাণিত হয়ে গেলো তাদের কর্মকান্ড।
So they were defeated there and returned disgraced.
Faghuliboo hunalika wainqalaboo saghireena
সেখানেই তারা পরাস্ত হয়ে গেলো এবং হয়ে গেলো অধ:পতিত লাঞ্ছিত।
And the sorcerers fell down prostrate.
Waolqiya alssaharatu sajideena
তখন ম্যাজেসিয়ানরা সাজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়লো।
They said: "We believe in the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
Qaloo amanna birabbi alAAalameena
তারা বললো: আমরা ঈমান আনলাম রাববুল আলামিনের প্রতি,
"The Lord of Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)."
Rabbi moosa waharoona
যিনি মূসা এবং হারূণের রব।
Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know.
Qala firAAawnu amantum bihi qabla an athana lakum inna hatha lamakrun makartumoohu fee almadeenati litukhrijoo minha ahlaha fasawfa taAAlamoona
ফেরাউন বললো: ‘‘আমার অনুমতি ছাড়াই তোমরা তার প্রতি ঈমান আনলে? আসলে এটা একটা ষড়যন্ত্র। তোমরা (উভয় পক্ষ মিলে) এই ষড়যন্ত্র এঁটেছো নগরবাসীকে তাদের নগর থেকে বের করে দেয়ার জন্যে। অচিরেই তোমরা এ কাজের পরিণাম দেখতে পাবে।
"Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet from opposite sides, then I will crucify you all."
LaoqatiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin thumma laosallibannakum ajmaAAeena
আমি বিপরীত দিক থেকে তোমাদের হাত ও পা কেটে দেবো, তারপর তোমাদের সবাইকে করবো শূলবিদ্ধ।’’
They said: "Verily, we are returning to our Lord.
Qaloo inna ila rabbina munqaliboona
তখন তারা বলেছিল: ‘‘আমরা অবশ্যি ফিরে যাবো আমাদের প্রভুর কাছে।
"And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidence, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims."
Wama tanqimu minna illa an amanna biayati rabbina lamma jaatna rabbana afrigh AAalayna sabran watawaffana muslimeena
তুমি তো কেবল একারণেই আমাদের থেকে প্রতিশোধ নিচ্ছো যে, আমরা আমাদের প্রভুর নির্দেশের প্রতি ঈমান এনেছি, যখন তা আমাদের সামনে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে।’’ (তারা দোয়া করেছিল:) ‘হে আমাদের প্রভু! আমাদেরকে সবর করার শক্তি দাও এবং আমাদের ওফাত দান করো মুসলিম হিসেবে।’
The chiefs of Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people said: "Will you leave Musa (Moses) and his people to spread mischief in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?" He said: "We will kill their sons, and let live their women, and we have indeed irresistible power over them."
Waqala almalao min qawmi firAAawna atatharu moosa waqawmahu liyufsidoo fee alardi wayatharaka waalihataka qala sanuqattilu abnaahum wanastahyee nisaahum wainna fawqahum qahiroona
ফেরাউন কওমের প্রধানরা বললো: ‘(হে ফেরাউন!) আপনি কি মূসা এবং তার কওমকে দেশে ফাসাদ সৃষ্টির আর আপনাকে ও আপনার ইলাহ্দের ত্যাগ করার জন্যে সুযোগ দিয়ে রাখবেন?’ সে বললো: ‘অচিরেই আমরা কতল করবো তাদের পুত্রদেরকে আর জীবিত রাখবো কন্যা সন্তানদের। আমরা তাদের উপর প্রবল শক্তিধর।’
Musa (Moses) said to his people: "Seek help in Allah and be patient. Verily, the earth is Allah's. He gives it as a heritage to whom He wills of His slaves; and the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2)."
Qala moosa liqawmihi istaAAeenoo biAllahi waisbiroo inna alarda lillahi yoorithuha man yashao min AAibadihi waalAAaqibatu lilmuttaqeena
মূসা তার কওমকে বললো: ‘তোমরা আল্লাহর সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করো এবং সবর করো। নিশ্চয়ই এ বিশ্বের মালিক আল্লাহ্ই। তিনি তাঁর দাসদের যাকে চাইবেন এর উত্তরাধিকারী করবেন। শুভ পরিণাম তো মুত্তাকিদের জন্যেই।’
They said: "We (Children of Israel) had suffered troubles before you came to us, and since you have come to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors on the earth, so that He may see how you act?"
Qaloo ootheena min qabli an tatiyana wamin baAAdi ma jitana qala AAasa rabbukum an yuhlika AAaduwwakum wayastakhlifakum fee alardi fayanthura kayfa taAAmaloona
তারা বললো: ‘তুমি আমাদের কাছে আসার আগেও আমরা নির্যাতিত হয়েছি এবং তুমি আসার পরেও।’ সে বললো: ‘অচিরেই তোমাদের প্রভু তোমাদের দুশমনকে হালাক করে দেবেন এবং পৃথিবীতে তোমাদেরকে তাদের স্থলাভিষিক্ত করবেন। তারপর দেখবেন, তোমরা কেমন আমল করো।’
And indeed We punished the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with years of drought and shortness of fruits (crops), that they might remember (take heed).
Walaqad akhathna ala firAAawna bialssineena wanaqsin mina alththamarati laAAallahum yaththakkaroona
আমরা ফেরাউনের অনুসারীদের দুর্ভিক্ষ আর ফসল হানির মাধ্যমে শাস্তি দিয়েছি যাতে করে তারা উপলব্ধি করে।
But whenever good came to them, they said: "Ours is this." And if evil afflicted them, they ascribed it to evil omens connected with Musa (Moses) and those with him. Be ! Verily, their evil omens are with Allah but most of them know not.
Faitha jaathumu alhasanatu qaloo lana hathihi wain tusibhum sayyiatun yattayyaroo bimoosa waman maAAahu ala innama tairuhum AAinda Allahi walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
যখনই তাদের কল্যাণ হতো তারা বলতো, আমরা এরই হকদার। আর যখনই তাদের স্পর্শ করতো কোনো অকল্যাণ, তখনই মূসা ও তার সাথিদেরকে তারা অলক্ষুণে গণ্য করতো। তাদের অকল্যাণ তো আল্লাহর নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন। কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বুঝ - জ্ঞান রাখেনা।
They said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Whatever Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) you may bring to us, to work therewith your sorcery on us, we shall never believe in you."
Waqaloo mahma tatina bihi min ayatin litasharana biha fama nahnu laka bimumineena
তারা বলতো, আমাদের জাদু করার জন্যে তুমি যে নিদর্শনই দেখাওনা কেন, আমরা তোমার প্রতি ঈমান আনবো না।
So We sent on them: the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, and the blood (as a succession of) manifest signs, yet they remained arrogant, and they were of those people who were Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners).
Faarsalna AAalayhimu alttoofana waaljarada waalqummala waalddafadiAAa waalddama ayatin mufassalatin faistakbaroo wakanoo qawman mujrimeena
আমরা তাদের প্রতি (নিদর্শন হিসেবে) পাঠিয়েছিলাম তুফান (প্লাবন), পঙ্গপাল, উকুন, ব্যঙ এবং রক্ত। এগুলো ছিলো বিস্তারিত ও স্পষ্ট নিদর্শন। কিন্তু তারা অহংকার করে। মূলত তারা ছিলো এক অপরাধী কওম।
And when the punishment fell on them they said: "O Musa (Moses)! Invoke your Lord for us because of His Promise to you. If you remove the punishment from us, we indeed shall believe in you, and we shall let the Children of Israel go with you."
Walamma waqaAAa AAalayhimu alrrijzu qaloo ya moosa odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka lain kashafta AAanna alrrijza lanuminanna laka walanursilanna maAAaka banee israeela
যখনই তাদের উপর এর কোনো একটি শাস্তি আসতো, তারা বলতো: ‘হে মূসা! তোমার প্রভুর কাছে আমাদের জন্যে দোয়া করো, তিনি তোমাকে যে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন (ঈমান আনলে আমাদের থেকে আযাব অপসারণ করার), এখন যদি সে অনুযায়ী তিনি আমাদের থেকে আযাব অপসারণ করেন, তবে অবশ্যি আমরা ঈমান আনবো এবং বনি ইসরাঈলকে তোমার সাথে যেতে দেবো।’
But when We removed the punishment from them to a fixed term, which they had to reach, behold! they broke their word!
Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alrrijza ila ajalin hum balighoohu itha hum yankuthoona
যখনই আমরা তাদেরকে তাদের জন্যে নির্ধারিত কোনো একটি আযাব দূরীভূত করে দিয়েছি একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের জন্যে, তখনই তারা তাদের প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গ করেছে।
So We took retribution from them. We drowned them in the sea, because they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were heedless about them.
Faintaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum fee alyammi biannahum kaththaboo biayatina wakanoo AAanha ghafileena
ফলে, আমরা তাদের থেকে প্রতিশোধ নিয়েছি এবং তাদের ডুবিয়ে দিয়েছি গভীর সমুদ্রে। কারণ, তারা আমাদের নিদর্শন সমূহকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল এবং তা থেকে তারা ছিলো গাফিল।
And We made the people who were considered weak to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We have blessed. And the fair Word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because of their endurance. And We destroyed completely all the great works and buildings which Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people erected.
Waawrathna alqawma allatheena kanoo yustadAAafoona mashariqa alardi wamagharibaha allatee barakna feeha watammat kalimatu rabbika alhusna AAala banee israeela bima sabaroo wadammarna ma kana yasnaAAu firAAawnu waqawmuhu wama kanoo yaAArishoona
তারপর সেই লোকদেরকে আমরা আমাদের বরকতপ্রাপ্ত ভূমির পূর্ব ও পশ্চিমের উত্তরাধিকারী বানিয়ে দিলাম, যাদেরকে রাখা হয়েছিল দূর্বল করে। আর এভাবেই বনি ইসরাঈল সম্পর্কে তোমার প্রভুর শুভ বাণী পূর্ণতা লাভ করে, কারণ তারা সবর অবলম্বন করেছিল। পক্ষান্তরে ফেরাউন ও তার কওম যেসব শিল্প ও স্থাপত্য নির্মাণ করেছিল, সেগুলো আমরা করে দিয়েছিলাম ধ্বংস।
And We brought the Children of Israel (with safety) across the sea, and they came upon a people devoted to some of their idols (in worship). They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Make for us an ilah (a god) as they have alihah (gods)." He said: "Verily, you are a people who know not (the Majesty and Greatness of Allah and what is obligatory upon you, i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone, the One and the Only God of all that exists)."
Wajawazna bibanee israeela albahra faataw AAala qawmin yaAAkufoona AAala asnamin lahum qaloo ya moosa ijAAal lana ilahan kama lahum alihatun qala innakum qawmun tajhaloona
বনি ইসরাঈলকে আমরা সমুদ্র পার করিয়ে দেই। পথিমধ্যে মূর্তিপূজায় নিরত একটি জাতির কাছে এসে তারা উপনীত হয়। তখন তারা মূসাকে বলে: ‘হে মূসা! আমাদেরকেও এদের ইলাহ্র (দেবতার) মতো ইলাহ্ বানিয়ে দাও।’ সে বললো: ‘তোমরা একটি জাহিল কওম।’
[Musa (Moses) added:] "Verily, these people will be destroyed for that which they are engaged in (idols-worship). And all that they are doing is in vain."
Inna haolai mutabbarun ma hum feehi wabatilun ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
(মূসা আরো বললো:) ‘এসব লোক যেসব কাজে জড়িত রয়েছে তা তো ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত হবেই আর তারা যা করছে সবই বাতিল।’
He said: "Shall I seek for you an Ilah (a god) other than Allah, while He has given you superiority over the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn of your time)."
Qala aghayra Allahi abgheekum ilahan wahuwa faddalakum AAala alAAalameena
সে আরো বলেছিল: ‘আমি কি তোমাদের জন্যে ছাড়া অন্য ইলাহ্ খুঁজবো, অথচ তিনি তোমাদের মর্যাদাবান করেছেন জগতবাসীর উপর?’
And (remember) when We rescued you from Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, who were afflicting you with the worst torment, killing your sons and letting your women live. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
Waith anjaynakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi yuqattiloona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAatheemun
স্মরণ করো, আমরা তোমাদের নাজাত দিয়েছিলাম ফেরাউনের অনুসারীদের থেকে। তারা তোমাদের নির্যাতন করতো নিকৃষ্ট আযাব দিয়ে। তারা হত্যা করতো তোমাদের পুত্র সন্তানদের, আর জীবিত রাখতো তোমাদের নারীদের। তোমাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে এতে তোমাদের জন্যে ছিলো এক বিরাট পরীক্ষা।
And We appointed for Musa (Moses) thirty nights and added (to the period) ten (more), and he completed the term, appointed by his Lord, of forty nights. And Musa (Moses) said to his brother Harun (Aaron): "Replace me among my people, act in the Right Way (by ordering the people to obey Allah and to worship Him Alone) and follow not the way of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers)."
WawaAAadna moosa thalatheena laylatan waatmamnaha biAAashrin fatamma meeqatu rabbihi arbaAAeena laylatan waqala moosa liakheehi haroona okhlufnee fee qawmee waaslih wala tattabiAA sabeela almufsideena
স্মরণ করো, আমরা মূসাকে ত্রিশ রাতের ওয়াদা দিয়েছিলাম এবং আরো দশ বাড়িয়ে দিয়ে তা পূর্ণ করেছিলাম। এভাবে তোমার প্রভুর নির্ধারিত সময়কাল তিনি চল্লিশ রাতে পূর্ণ করেন। মূসা বলেছিল তার ভাই হারূণকে: ‘আমার অনুপস্থিতিতে তুমি আমার কওমে আমার প্রতিনিধিত্ব করবে এবং ফাসাদ সৃষ্টিকারীদের পথ অনুসরণ করবেনা।’
And when Musa (Moses) came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord (Allah) spoke to him; he said: "O my Lord! Show me (Yourself), that I may look upon You." Allah said: "You cannot see Me, but look upon the mountain; if it stands still in its place then you shall see Me." So when his Lord appeared to the mountain , He made it collapse to dust, and Musa (Moses) fell down unconscious. Then when he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to You, I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers."
Walamma jaa moosa limeeqatina wakallamahu rabbuhu qala rabbi arinee anthur ilayka qala lan taranee walakini onthur ila aljabali faini istaqarra makanahu fasawfa taranee falamma tajalla rabbuhu liljabali jaAAalahu dakkan wakharra moosa saAAiqan falamma afaqa qala subhanaka tubtu ilayka waana awwalu almumineena
মূসা যখন আমার মিকাতে (নির্ধারিত সময় ও স্থানে) উপস্থিত হয়েছিল, এবং তার প্রভু তার সাথে কথা বলেছিলেন, তখন সে বললো: ‘আমার প্রভু! আমাকে দেখা দাও, আমি তোমাকে দেখবো।’ তিনি বললেন: ‘তুমি কখনো আমাকে দেখতে পাবেনা। তবে তুমি পাহাড়ের প্রতি তাকাও, পাহাড় যদি তার স্বস্থানে অটল থাকে, তাহলেই তুমি আমাকে দেখবে।’ তারপর তোমার প্রভু যখন পাহাড়ের দিকে তাজাল্লি (জ্যোতি) প্রকাশ করলেন, তখন তা পাহাড়কে চূর্ণ বিচূর্ণ করে দিলো এবং মূসা পড়ে গেলো সংজ্ঞাহীন হয়ে। তারপর যখন সে সংজ্ঞা ফিরে পেলো, তখন বললো: ‘মহাপবিত্র ত্রুটিমুক্ত তুমি, আমি অনুতপ্ত হয়ে তোমার দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করলাম এবং আমিই বিশ্বাসীদের প্রথম।’
(Allah) said: "O Musa (Moses) I have chosen you above men by My Messages, and by My speaking (to you). So hold that which I have given you and be of the grateful."
Qala ya moosa innee istafaytuka AAala alnnasi birisalatee wabikalamee fakhuth ma ataytuka wakun mina alshshakireena
তিনি বললেন: ‘হে মূসা! আমি তোমাকে মানব সমাজের উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দিয়েছি আমার রিসালাত প্রদান করে এবং তোমার সাথে আমার কথা বলার মাধ্যমে। সুতরাং আমি তোমাকে যা দিয়েছি তা আঁকড়ে ধরো এবং শোকরগুজারদের অন্তরভুক্ত হও।
And We wrote for him on the Tablets the lesson to be drawn from all things and the explanation for all things (and said): Hold unto these with firmness, and enjoin your people to take the better therein. I shall show you the home of Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
Wakatabna lahu fee alalwahi min kulli shayin mawAAithatan watafseelan likulli shayin fakhuthha biquwwatin wamur qawmaka yakhuthoo biahsaniha saoreekum dara alfasiqeena
আমরা তার জন্যে ফলকে সব বিষয়ের উপদেশ এবং সব বিষয়ের সুষ্পষ্ট ব্যাখ্যা লিখে দিয়েছি। সুতরাং এগুলো শক্ত করে আঁকড়ে ধরো এবং তোমার কওমকে এগুলোর উত্তম নির্দেশাবলি গ্রহণ করার নির্দেশ দাও। আমি অচিরেই তোমাদেরকে ফাসিকদের আবাস দেখাবো।
I shall turn away from My Ayat (verses of the Qur'an) those who behave arrogantly on the earth, without a right, and (even) if they see all the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they will not believe in them. And if they see the way of righteousness (monotheism, piety, and good deeds), they will not adopt it as the Way, but if they see the way of error (polytheism, crimes and evil deeds), they will adopt that way, that is because they have rejected Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were heedless (to learn a lesson) from them.
Saasrifu AAan ayatiya allatheena yatakabbaroona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wain yaraw kulla ayatin la yuminoo biha wain yaraw sabeela alrrushdi la yattakhithoohu sabeelan wain yaraw sabeela alghayyi yattakhithoohu sabeelan thalika biannahum kaththaboo biayatina wakanoo AAanha ghafileena
যারা অন্যায়ভাবে পৃথিবীতে অহংকার করে বেড়ায় আমি অচিরেই আমার আয়াত থেকে তাদের দৃষ্টি ফিরিয়ে দেবো। তারা প্রতিটি নিদর্শন দেখলেও তাতে বিশ্বাস করবেনা, তারা সঠিক পথ দেখলেও সেটিকে (নিজেদের পথ) হিসেবে গ্রহণ করবেনা। কিন্তু ভ্রান্ত পথ দেখলেই সেটাকে চলার পথ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করবে। এর কারণ তারা আমাদের আয়াতকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছে এবং সে ব্যাপারে তারা গাফিল।
Those who deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and the Meeting in the Hereafter (Day of Resurrection,), vain are their deeds. Are they requited with anything except what they used to do?
Waallatheena kaththaboo biayatina waliqai alakhirati habitat aAAmaluhum hal yujzawna illa ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
যারা আমাদের আয়াত এবং আখিরাতের সাক্ষাতকে অস্বীকার করেছে, নিষ্ফল হয়ে গেছে তাদের সমস্ত আমল। তারা যা করে তার বাইরে তাদেরকে কোনো প্রতিফল (শাস্তি) দেয়া হবেনা।
And the people of Musa (Moses) made in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of a calf (for worship). It had a sound (as if it was mooing). Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to the way? They took it (for worship) and they were Zalimun (wrong-doers).
Waittakhatha qawmu moosa min baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun alam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehim sabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo thalimeena
মূসার কওম তার অনুপস্থিতিতে তাদের অলংকার দিয়ে একটি গো - বাছুরের দেহাবয়ব তৈরি করে, যার থেকে হাম্বা ধ্বনি বের হতো। তারা কি দেখেনি যে, সেটি তাদের সাথে কথা বলেনা এবং তাদের পথও দেখায়না? তারা সেটিকে (দেবতা হিসেবে) গ্রহণ করে। আসলে তারা ছিলো যালিম।
And when they regretted and saw that they had gone astray, they (repented and) said: "If our Lord have not mercy upon us and forgive us, we shall certainly be of the losers."
Walamma suqita fee aydeehim waraaw annahum qad dalloo qaloo lain lam yarhamna rabbuna wayaghfir lana lanakoonanna mina alkhasireena
তারা যখন অনুতপ্ত হলো এবং দেখলো যে, তারা বিপথগামী হয়ে গেছে, তখন তারা বললো: ‘আমাদের প্রভু যদি আমাদের প্রতি রহম না করেন এবং আমাদের ক্ষমা করে না দেন, তবে অবশ্যি আমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়ে পড়বো।’
And when Musa (Moses) returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said: "What an evil thing is that which you have done (i.e. worshipping the calf) during my absence. Did you hasten and go ahead as regards the matter of your Lord (you left His worship)?" And he threw down the Tablets and seized his brother by (the hair of) his head and dragged him towards him. Harun (Aaron) said: "O son of my mother! Indeed the people judged me weak and were about to kill me, so make not the enemies rejoice over me, nor put me amongst the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers)."
Walamma rajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala bisama khalaftumoonee min baAAdee aAAajiltum amra rabbikum waalqa alalwaha waakhatha birasi akheehi yajurruhu ilayhi qala ibna omma inna alqawma istadAAafoonee wakadoo yaqtuloonanee fala tushmit biya alaAAdaa wala tajAAalnee maAAa alqawmi alththalimeena
মূসা যখন ক্ষুদ্ধ হয়ে তার কওমের কাছে ফিরে এলো, বললো: ‘তোমরা আমার অনুপস্থিতিতে আমার চরম নিকৃষ্ট প্রতিনিধিত্ব করেছো। তোমাদের প্রভুর আদেশের আগেই তোমরা তাড়াহুড়া করলে?’ এবং সে ফলকগুলো ফেলে দেয় এবং তার ভাইয়ের চুল ধরে নিজের দিকে টেনে আনে। সে (তার ভাই হারূণ) বললো: ‘হে আমার সহোদর! লোকেরা আমাকে দুর্বল করে রেখেছিল এবং আমাকে প্রায় হত্যাই করে ফেলেছিল। তুমি আমার সাথে এমন আচরণ করোনা যাতে শত্রুরা আনন্দিত হয় এবং আমাকে যালিম কওমের অন্তরভুক্ত করোনা।’
Musa (Moses) said: "O my Lord! Forgive me and my brother, and admit us into Your Mercy, for you are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy."
Qala rabbi ighfir lee waliakhee waadkhilna fee rahmatika waanta arhamu alrrahimeena
সে (মূসা) বললো: ‘আমার প্রভু! আমাকে ক্ষমা করে দাও এবং আমার ভাইকেও, আর আমাদের দাখিল করো তোমরা রহমতের মধ্যে। তুমিই তো সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ রহমওয়ালা।’
Certainly, those who took the calf (for worship), wrath from their Lord and humiliation will come upon them in the life of this world. Thus do We recompense those who invent lies.
Inna allatheena ittakhathoo alAAijla sayanaluhum ghadabun min rabbihim wathillatun fee alhayati alddunya wakathalika najzee almuftareena
যারা গো - বাছুরকে দেবতা হিসাবে গ্রহণ করেছে তাদের উপর এই দুনিয়ার জীবনেই তাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে আপতিত হবে গজব আর যিল্লতি। এভাবেই আমরা শাস্তি দিয়ে থাকি মিথ্যা রচনাকারীদের।
But those who committed evil deeds and then repented afterwards and believed, verily, your Lord after (all) that is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Waallatheena AAamiloo alssayyiati thumma taboo min baAAdiha waamanoo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun
যারা মন্দ কাজ করার পর অনুতপ্ত হয়ে ফিরে আসে (তওবা করে) এবং ঈমানের ভিত্তিতে জীবন যাপন করে, নিশ্চয়ই তোমার প্রভু এরপরও পরম ক্ষমাশীল দয়াময়।
And when the anger of Musa (Moses) was calmed down, he took up the Tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord.
Walamma sakata AAan moosa alghadabu akhatha alalwaha wafee nuskhatiha hudan warahmatun lillatheena hum lirabbihim yarhaboona
যখন থেমে গেলো মূসার রাগ, তখন সে তুলে নিলো ফলকগুলো। যারা তাদের প্রভুর জন্যে একমুখী হয়ে যায় তাদের জন্যে সেই নোস্খাগুলোতে লিখিত ছিলো হিদায়াত ও রহমত।
And Musa (Moses) chose out of his people seventy (of the best) men for Our appointed time and place of meeting, and when they were seized with a violent earthquake, he said: "O my Lord, if it had been Your Will, You could have destroyed them and me before; would You destroy us for the deeds of the foolish ones among us? It is only Your Trial by which You lead astray whom You will, and keep guided whom You will. You are our Wali (Protector), so forgive us and have Mercy on us: for You are the Best of those who forgive.
Waikhtara moosa qawmahu sabAAeena rajulan limeeqatina falamma akhathathumu alrrajfatu qala rabbi law shita ahlaktahum min qablu waiyyaya atuhlikuna bima faAAala alssufahao minna in hiya illa fitnatuka tudillu biha man tashao watahdee man tashao anta waliyyuna faighfir lana wairhamna waanta khayru alghafireena
মূসা তার কওম থেকে সত্তর ব্যক্তিকে আমার নির্ধারিত স্থানে নিয়ে আসার জন্যে মনোনীত করে। যখন সেখানে তাদেরকে প্রচন্ড ভূমিকম্প পাকড়াও করলো, মূসা ফরিয়াদ করলো: ‘‘আমার প্রভু! তুমি চাইলে (তো) এখানে আসার আগেই তাদের মেরে ফেলতে পারতে এবং আমাকেও। আমাদের মধ্যকার নির্বোধ লোকদের কর্মকান্ডের জন্যে কি তুমি আমাদের ধ্বংস করে দেবে? এটা তো তোমার একটা পরীক্ষা ছাড়া আর কিছু নয়। এর দ্বারা তুমি যাকে চাও গোমরাহ করে দাও আর যাকে চাও সঠিক পথ দেখাও। তুমিই আমাদের অলি। তাই আমাদের ক্ষমা করে দাও এবং রহম করো আমাদের প্রতি। তুমিই তো সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ ক্ষমাশীল।
"And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Certainly we have turned unto You." He said: (As to) My punishment I afflict therewith whom I will and My Mercy embraces all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who are the Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2), and give Zakat; and those who believe in Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs and revelations, etc.);
Waoktub lana fee hathihi alddunya hasanatan wafee alakhirati inna hudna ilayka qala AAathabee oseebu bihi man ashao warahmatee wasiAAat kulla shayin fasaaktubuha lillatheena yattaqoona wayutoona alzzakata waallatheena hum biayatina yuminoona
আমাদের জন্যে এই দুনিয়াতে কল্যাণ লিখে দাও এবং আখিরাতেও। আমরা তোমার দিকেই পথ ধরলাম।’’ তার প্রভু বললেন: আমার শাস্তি যাকে আমি চাই দিয়ে থাকি, কিন্তু আমার রহমত সব কিছুর উপর পরিব্যাপ্ত। তা আমি বিশেষভাবে লিখে দেবো সেইসব লোকদের জন্যে, যারা তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করে, যাকাত পরিশোধ করে দেয় এবং যারা ঈমান রাখে আমার আয়াতের প্রতি।
Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) whom they find written with them in the Taurat (Torah) (Deut, xviii 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16) , - he commands them for Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Tayyibat (i.e. all good and lawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods), and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khaba'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allah's Covenant with the children of Israel), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur'an) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be .
Allatheena yattabiAAoona alrrasoola alnnabiyya alommiyya allathee yajidoonahu maktooban AAindahum fee alttawrati waalinjeeli yamuruhum bialmaAAroofi wayanhahum AAani almunkari wayuhillu lahumu alttayyibati wayuharrimu AAalayhimu alkhabaitha wayadaAAu AAanhum israhum waalaghlala allatee kanat AAalayhim faallatheena amanoo bihi waAAazzaroohu wanasaroohu waittabaAAoo alnnoora allathee onzila maAAahu olaika humu almuflihoona
যারা ইত্তেবা (অনুসরণ) করবে আমার এই রসূল উম্মি নবীর, যার উল্লেখ তারা লিপিবদ্ধ পায় তাদের কাছে রক্ষিত তাওরাত এবং ইনজিলে, সে তাদেরকে ভালো কাজের আদেশ দেয়, মন্দ কাজ থেকে বারণ করে, তাদের জন্যে সব ভালো জিনিস হালাল করে, সব নোংরা অপবিত্র জিনিস হারাম করে এবং তাদেরকে মুক্ত করে সেইসব গুরুভার ও শৃংখল থেকে, যেগুলো তাদের উপর বোঝা হয়ে চেপেছিল। অতএব যারা তার প্রতি ঈমান আনবে, তাকে সম্মান প্রদর্শন করবে, তাকে সাহায্য করবে এবং সেই নূর (কুরআন) - এর ইত্তেবা করবে, যা নাযিল করা হয়েছে তার সাথে, তারাই হবে ।
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah - to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is He Who gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), who believes in Allah and His Words [(this Qur'an), the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and also Allah's Word: "Be!" - and he was, i.e. 'Îsa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), عليهما السلام], and follow him so that you may be guided. "
Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu innee rasoolu Allahi ilaykum jameeAAan allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi la ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu faaminoo biAllahi warasoolihi alnnabiyyi alommiyyi allathee yuminu biAllahi wakalimatihi waittabiAAoohu laAAallakum tahtadoona
(হে মুহাম্মদ!) বলো: ‘হে মানুষ! আমি তোমাদের সবার প্রতি সেই মহান আল্লাহর রসূল, যিনি মহাকাশ এবং এই পৃথিবীর কর্তৃত্বের মালিক। তিনি ছাড়া কোনো ইলাহ্ নেই। তিনিই জীবন দান করেন এবং মৃত্যু। সুতরাং তোমরা ঈমান আনো আল্লাহর প্রতি এবং তাঁর উম্মি নবীর প্রতি, যে ঈমান রাখে আল্লাহর প্রতি এবং তাঁর বাণীর প্রতি। তোমরা তাঁর অনুসরণ করো, অবশ্যি সঠিক পথ পাবে।’
And of the people of Musa (Moses) there is a community who lead (the men) with truth and establish justice therewith (i.e. judge among men with truth and justice).
Wamin qawmi moosa ommatun yahdoona bialhaqqi wabihi yaAAdiloona
মূসার কওমের মধ্যে এমন একদল লোকও আছে যারা অন্যদেরকে সত্যের ভিত্তিতে পথ দেখায় এবং তার ভিত্তিতেই বিচার করে।
And We divided them into twelve tribes (as distinct) nations. We revealed to Musa (Moses) when his people asked him for water (saying): "Strike the stone with your stick", and there gushed forth out of it twelve springs, each group knew its own place for water. We shaded them with the clouds and sent down upon them Al-Manna and the quails (saying): "Eat of the good things with which We have provided you." They harmed Us not but they used to harm themselves.
WaqattaAAnahumu ithnatay AAashrata asbatan omaman waawhayna ila moosa ithi istasqahu qawmuhu ani idrib biAAasaka alhajara fainbajasat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qad AAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum wathallalna AAalayhimu alghamama waanzalna AAalayhimu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama thalamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
আমরা তাদের বিভক্ত করেছি বারো গোত্রে। মূসার কওম যখন তার কাছে পানি সমস্যার সমাধান করার আবেদন করেছিল, আমরা তাকে অহি করে নির্দেশ দিলাম, এই পাথরটিতে তোমার লাঠি দিয়ে আঘাত করো। ফলে (তার আঘাতের সাথে সাথে) তা থেকে বারোটি ঝরণাধারা উৎসারিত হয়ে গেলো। প্রত্যেক গোত্রের লোকেরা তাদের নিজ নিজ পানির জায়গা চিনে নিলো। তাছাড়া আমরা মেঘমালা দিয়ে তাদের উপর ছায়া বিস্তার করেছিলাম এবং তাদের জন্যে নাযিল করেছিলাম মান্না এবং সালওয়া। (তাদের বলেছিলাম:) আমরা তোমাদের যে ভালো জীবিকা দিয়েছি তা থেকে খাও। কিন্তু, তারা আমাদের প্রতি যুলুম করেনি, যুলুম করেছিল তাদের নিজেদের প্রতিই।
And (remember) when it was said to them: "Dwell in this town (Jerusalem) and eat therefrom wherever you wish, and say, '(O Allah) forgive our sins'; and enter the gate prostrate (bowing with humility). We shall forgive you your wrong-doings. We shall increase (the reward) for the good-doers."
Waith qeela lahumu oskunoo hathihi alqaryata wakuloo minha haythu shitum waqooloo hittatun waodkhuloo albaba sujjadan naghfir lakum khateeatikum sanazeedu almuhsineena
তাদের বলা হয়েছিল: তোমরা এই বসতিতে বসবাস করো, সেখানে যেখান থেকে ইচ্ছা খাও এবং বলো, হিত্তাতুন (আমাদের ক্ষমা করো) আর নত শিরে দাখিল হও (সদর) গেইট দিয়ে, তাহলে আমরা তোমাদের অপরাধ ক্ষমা করে দেবো। কল্যাণপরায়ণদের আমরা অচিরেই আরো অধিক দান করবো।
But those among them who did wrong changed the word that had been told to them. So We sent on them a torment from the heaven in return for their wrong-doings.
Fabaddala allatheena thalamoo minhum qawlan ghayra allathee qeela lahum faarsalna AAalayhim rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yathlimoona
কিন্তু তাদের মধ্যে যারা যুলুম করেছিল, তাদের যা বলা হয়েছিল সেকথা বদল করে তারা অন্য কথা বললো। ফলে আমরা আসমান থেকে তাদের জন্যে নাযিল করেছিলাম শাস্তি তাদের যুলুমের কারণে।
And ask them (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) about the town that was by the sea; when they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday): when their fish came to them openly on the Sabbath day, and did not come to them on the day they had no Sabbath. Thus We made a trial of them, for they used to rebel against Allah's Command (disobey Allah) [see the Qur'an: V.4:154 and its footnote].
Waisalhum AAani alqaryati allatee kanat hadirata albahri ith yaAAdoona fee alssabti ith tateehim heetanuhum yawma sabtihim shurraAAan wayawma la yasbitoona la tateehim kathalika nabloohum bima kanoo yafsuqoona
তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করো সেই বসতি সম্পর্কে যাদের অবস্থান ছিলো সাগরের পাড়েই। সেখানে তারা শনিবারে সীমালংঘন করতো। শনিবার উদযাপনের দিন মাছ পানির উপরিভাগে ভেসে তাদের কাছে আসতো। যেদিন তারা শনিবার উদযাপন করতো না, সেদিন তারা তাদের কাছে আসতোনা। এভাবে আমরা তাদের পরীক্ষা করেছিলাম তাদের ফাসেকির কারণে।
And when a community among them said: "Why do you preach to a people whom Allah is about to destroy or to punish with a severe torment?" (The preachers) said: "In order to be free from guilt before your Lord (Allah), and perhaps they may fear Allah."
Waith qalat ommatun minhum lima taAAithoona qawman Allahu muhlikuhum aw muAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan qaloo maAAthiratan ila rabbikum walaAAallahum yattaqoona
স্মরণ করো, তাদের একদল বলেছিল, তোমরা এমন লোকদের কেন উপদেশ দাও যাদের ধ্বংস করে দেবেন, কিংবা কঠিন আযাব দেবেন? তারা বলেছিল: ‘তোমাদের প্রভুর কাছে দায়িত্ব মুক্তি লাভের জন্যে এবং যাতে করে তারা সতর্ক হয়।’
So when they forgot the remindings that had been given to them, We rescued those who forbade evil, but We seized those who did wrong with a severe torment because they used to rebel against Allah's Command (disobey Allah).
Falamma nasoo ma thukkiroo bihi anjayna allatheena yanhawna AAani alssooi waakhathna allatheena thalamoo biAAathabin baeesin bima kanoo yafsuqoona
তাদেরকে যে উপদেশ দেয়া হয়েছিল তারা যখন তা ভুলে গিয়েছিল, তখন আমরা তাদেরকে মুক্তি দিয়েছিলাম যারা মন্দ কাজ থেকে বারণ করতো। আর কঠিন আযাব দিয়ে পাকড়াও করেছিলাম তাদেরকে যারা যুলুম করেছিল এবং ফাসেকিতে লিপ্ত ছিলো।
So when they exceeded the limits of what they were prohibited, We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected."
Falamma AAataw AAan ma nuhoo AAanhu qulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khasieena
তারপর তারা তখন ঔদ্ধত্যের সাথে নিষেধ করা কাজ করতে শুরু করেছিল, তখন আমরা তাদের বলেছিলাম: ‘নিকৃষ্ট বানর হয়ে যাও।’
And (remember) when your Lord declared that He would certainly keep on sending against them (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Resurrection, those who would afflict them with a humiliating torment. Verily, your Lord is Quick in Retribution (for the disobedient, wicked) and certainly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (for the obedient and those who beg Allah's Forgiveness).
Waith taaththana rabbuka layabAAathanna AAalayhim ila yawmi alqiyamati man yasoomuhum sooa alAAathabi inna rabbaka lasareeAAu alAAiqabi wainnahu laghafoorun raheemun
স্মরণ করো, তোমার প্রভু তাদের বলেছিলেন, তিনি কিয়ামত পর্যন্ত তাদের উপর এমন লোকদের পাঠাবেন, যারা তাদের কঠিন আযাব দিতে থাকবে। তোমার প্রভু অবশ্যি শাস্তি প্রদানে তৎপর এবং অবশ্যি তিনি পরম ক্ষমাশীল দয়াময়ও।
And We have broken them (i.e. the Jews) up into various separate groups on the earth: some of them are righteous and some are away from that. And We tried them with good (blessings) and evil (calamities) in order that they might turn (to Allah's Obedience).
WaqattaAAnahum fee alardi omaman minhumu alssalihoona waminhum doona thalika wabalawnahum bialhasanati waalssayyiati laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
আমরা তাদেরকে বিশ্বময় বিভিন্ন দলে বিভক্ত করে ছড়িয়ে রেখেছি। তাদের মধ্যে কিছু ভালো লোকও আছে, আবার ভিন্ন রকমও আছে। আমরা তাদের কল্যাণ এবং অকল্যাণ দুটো দিয়েই পরীক্ষা করেছি, যাতে করে তারা (মন্দ কাজ থেকে) ফিরে আসে।
Then after them succeeded an (evil) generation, which inherited the Book, but they chose (for themselves) the goods of this low life (evil pleasures of this world) saying (as an excuse): "(Everything) will be forgiven to us." And if (again) the offer of the like (evil pleasures of this world) came their way, they would (again) seize them (would commit those sins). Was not the covenant of the Book taken from them that they would not say about Allah anything but the truth? And they have studied what is in it (the Book). And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2). Do not you then understand?
Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun warithoo alkitaba yakhuthoona AAarada hatha aladna wayaqooloona sayughfaru lana wain yatihim AAaradun mithluhu yakhuthoohu alam yukhath AAalayhim meethaqu alkitabi an la yaqooloo AAala Allahi illa alhaqqa wadarasoo ma feehi waalddaru alakhiratu khayrun lillatheena yattaqoona afala taAAqiloona
এরপর অযোগ্য উত্তরসূরীরা একের পর এক তাদের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হয়ে কিতাবের ওয়ারিশ হয়। তারা (কিতাবের বিনিময়ে) তুচ্ছ দুনিয়ার সামগ্রী গ্রহণ করে এবং বলে, আমাদের ক্ষমা করা হবে। কিন্তু পরক্ষণে অনুরূপ সামগ্রী তাদের সামনে এলেই তারা তা আবার গ্রহণ করে। তাদের কাছ থেকে কি কিতাবের অংগীকার নেয়া হয়নি যে, তারা সত্য ছাড়া আল্লাহর ব্যাপারে কথা বলবেনা। কিতাবে যা আছে তারা তো তা পাঠ করেই। যারা তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করে তাদের জন্যে আখিরাতের ঘরই উত্তম, তোমরা কি অনুধাবন করবেনা ?
And as to those who hold fast to the Book (i.e. act on its teachings) and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat ), certainly We shall never waste the reward of those who do righteous deeds.
Waallatheena yumassikoona bialkitabi waaqamoo alssalata inna la nudeeAAu ajra almusliheena
যারা কিতাবকে শক্ত করে আঁকড়ে ধরবে এবং কায়েম করবে, আমরা এসব পুন্যবানদের কর্মফল বিনষ্ট করিনা।
And (remember) when We raised the mountain over them as if it had been a canopy, and they thought that it was going to fall on them. (We said): "Hold firmly to what We have given you [i.e. the Taurat (Torah)], and remember that which is therein (act on its commandments), so that you may fear Allah and obey Him."
Waith nataqna aljabala fawqahum kaannahu thullatun wathannoo annahu waqiAAun bihim khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona
স্মরণ করো, আমরা তাদের উপর পর্বত তুলে ধরেছিলাম, সেটা ছিলো যেনো একটি ছাতা। তারা মনে করছিল, সেটি তাদের উপর ধপ করে পড়বে। তখন আমরা তাদের বলেছিলাম: আমরা তোমাদের যা (যে কিতাব) দিয়েছি, সেটি মজবুত করে আঁকড়ে ধরো এবং তাতে যা আছে তা চর্চা করো, আশা করা যায় তোমরা তাকওয়াবান হবে।
And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this."
Waith akhatha rabbuka min banee adama min thuhoorihim thurriyyatahum waashhadahum AAala anfusihim alastu birabbikum qaloo bala shahidna an taqooloo yawma alqiyamati inna kunna AAan hatha ghafileena
স্মরণ করো, তোমার প্রভু বনি আদমের পিঠ থেকে তাদের বংশধরদের বের করেছিলেন এবং তাদের নিজেদের উপর নিজেদের সাক্ষ্য গ্রহণ করেছিলেন। তিনি তাদের জিজ্ঞেস করেছিলেন: ‘আমি কি তোমাদের রব নই?’ তারা বলেছিল: ‘হাঁ অবশ্যি, আমরা সাক্ষী থাকলাম।’ এটা এজন্যে করেছিলাম যেনো কিয়ামতের দিন তোমরা বলতে না পারো যে ‘আমরা এ বিষয়ে গাফিল ছিলাম।’
Or lest you should say: "It was only our fathers afortime who took others as partners in worship along with Allah, and we were (merely their) descendants after them; will You then destroy us because of the deeds of men who practised Al-Batil (i.e. polytheism and committing crimes and sins, invoking and worshipping others besides Allah)?" (Tafsir At-Tabari).
Aw taqooloo innama ashraka abaona min qablu wakunna thurriyyatan min baAAdihim afatuhlikuna bima faAAala almubtiloona
কিংবা যেনো একথা বলতে না পারো যে: ‘আমাদের পূর্ব পুরুষরাই তো আমাদের আগে শিরক করেছে, আমরা তো ছিলাম তাদের পরবর্তী বংশধর। তুমি কি বাতিল পথ অবলম্বনকারীদের জন্যে আমাদের হালাক করবে?’
Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, so that they may turn (unto the truth).
Wakathalika nufassilu alayati walaAAallahum yarjiAAoona
এভাবেই আমরা বিশদভাবে বর্ণনা করি আমাদের আয়াত, যাতে করে তারা (হিদায়াতের পথে) ফিরে আসে।
And recite (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to them the story of him to whom We gave Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but he threw them away; so Shaitan (Satan) followed him up, and he became of those who went astray.
Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa allathee ataynahu ayatina fainsalakha minha faatbaAAahu alshshaytanu fakana mina alghaweena
তাদের প্রতি তিলাওয়াত করো ঐ ব্যক্তির সংবাদ যাকে আমরা দিয়েছিলাম আমাদের আয়াত। কিন্তু সে তা থেকে সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করে এবং শয়তান তার পেছনে লাগে, আর সে হয়ে যায় পথভ্রষ্টদের একজন।
And had We willed, We would surely have elevated him therewith but he clung to the earth and followed his own vain desire. So his parable is the parable of a dog: if you drive him away, he lolls his tongue out, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls his tongue out. Such is the parable of the people who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So relate the stories, perhaps they may reflect.
Walaw shina larafaAAnahu biha walakinnahu akhlada ila alardi waittabaAAa hawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmil AAalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath thalika mathalu alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayatina faoqsusi alqasasa laAAallahum yatafakkaroona
আমরা চাইলে এ (কিতাব) দিয়ে তাকে অনেক উপরে উঠাতে পারতাম, কিন্তু সে জমিনকে আঁকড়ে ধরে থাকলো এবং অনুসরণ করলো নিজের কামনা বাসনার। ফলে তার উপমা হলো কুকুর, যার উপর বোঝা চাপালেও সে জিহ্বা বের করে হাঁপায়, আর বোঝা না চাপালেও জিহ্বা বের করে হাঁপায়। এটা হলো ঐ লোকদের উপমা, যারা প্রত্যাখ্যান করে আমাদের আয়াত। তুমি এই কাহিনীটি তাদের শুনাও যাতে করে তারা চিন্তাভাবনা করে।
Evil is the parable of the people who rejected Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses and signs, etc.), and used to wrong their ownselves.
Saa mathalan alqawmu allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waanfusahum kanoo yathlimoona
ঐ লোকদের উপমা যে কতো নিকৃষ্ট যারা প্রত্যাখ্যান করে আমাদের আয়াত এবং যুলুম করে তাদের নিজেদের প্রতি!
Whomsoever Allah guides, he is the guided one, and whomsoever He sends astray,- then those! they are the losers.
Man yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadee waman yudlil faolaika humu alkhasiroona
যাকে সঠিক পথ দেখান, সে - ই পায় সঠিক পথ। আর তিনি যাদের বিপথগামী করেন তারাই আসল ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।
And surely, We have created many of the jinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not (the truth). They are like cattle, nay even more astray; those! They are the heedless ones.
Walaqad tharana lijahannama katheeran mina aljinni waalinsi lahum quloobun la yafqahoona biha walahum aAAyunun la yubsiroona biha walahum athanun la yasmaAAoona biha olaika kaalanAAami bal hum adallu olaika humu alghafiloona
আমরা জাহান্নামের জন্যেই তৈরি করেছি জিন ও ইনসানের অনেককে। তাদের অন্তর আছে, তবে তা দিয়ে তারা উপলব্ধি করেনা। তাদের চোখ আছে, তবে তা দিয়ে তারা দেখেনা। তাদের কান আছে, তবে তা দিয়ে তারা শুনেনা। এরা হলো পশুর মতো, বরং তারা আরো অধিক বিভ্রান্ত এবং তারা অচেতন।
And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah , so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names. They will be requited for what they used to do.
Walillahi alasmao alhusna faodAAoohu biha watharoo allatheena yulhidoona fee asmaihi sayujzawna ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
সুন্দরতম নামসমূহ আল্লাহর, সুতরাং তোমরা তাঁকে সেসব নামে ডাকো। যারা তাঁর নাম বিকৃত করে, তাদের ত্যাগ করো। অচিরেই তাদেরকে তাদের কর্মের প্রতিফল দেয়া হবে।
And of those whom We have created, there is a community who guides (others) with the truth, and establishes justice therewith.
Wamimman khalaqna ommatun yahdoona bialhaqqi wabihi yaAAdiloona
আমরা যাদের সৃষ্টি করেছি, তাদের মধ্যে এমন লোকেরাও আছে যারা সত্যের ভিত্তিতে (মানুষকে) সঠিক পথ দেখায়, এবং তার ভিত্তিতে ন্যায়বিচার করে।
Those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not.
Waallatheena kaththaboo biayatina sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona
যারা প্রত্যাখ্যান করে আমাদের আয়াত, আমরা ক্রমান্বয়ে তাদেরকে এমনভাবে ধ্বংসের দিকে নিয়ে যাবো যে, তারা তা জানতেও পারবেনা।
And I respite them; certainly My Plan is strong.
Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun
আমি তাদের অবকাশ দেই, জেনে রাখো, আমার কৌশল অত্যন্ত মজবুত।
Do they not reflect? There is no madness in their companion (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). He is but a plain warner.
Awalam yatafakkaroo ma bisahibihim min jinnatin in huwa illa natheerun mubeenun
তারা কি চিন্তা - ফিকির করে দেখেনা যে, তাদের সাথি (মুহাম্মদ) কোনো উন্মাদ ব্যক্তি নয়। সে তো একজন সুস্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী!
Do they not look in the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all things that Allah has created; and that it may be that the end of their lives is near. In what message after this will they then believe?
Awalam yanthuroo fee malakooti alssamawati waalardi wama khalaqa Allahu min shayin waan AAasa an yakoona qadi iqtaraba ajaluhum fabiayyi hadeethin baAAdahu yuminoona
তারা কি নজর করে দেখেনা মহাকাশ ও পৃথিবীর কর্তৃত্বের প্রতি, আল্লাহর সৃষ্টি করা প্রতিটি বস্ত্তর প্রতি এবং এটার প্রতি যে, হয়তো তাদের নির্ধারিত সময়টি নিকটবর্তী হয়েছে! এরপরে আর কোন্ কথাটির প্রতি তারা ঈমান আনবে?
Whomsoever Allah sends astray, none can guide him; and He lets them wander blindly in their transgressions.
Man yudlili Allahu fala hadiya lahu wayatharuhum fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona
যাদের বিপথে পরিচালিত করেন, তাদেরকে সঠিক পথে পরিচালিত করার আর কেউ নেই এবং তিনি তাদেরকে তার অবাধ্যতার মধ্যে উদ্ভ্রান্তের মতো ঘুরে বেড়াতে সুযোগ দেন।
They ask you about the Hour (Day of Resurrection): "When will be its appointed time?" Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (Alone). None can reveal its time but He. Heavy is its burden through the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you except all of a sudden." They ask you as if you have a good knowledge of it. Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (Alone), but most of mankind know not."
Yasaloonaka AAani alssaAAati ayyana mursaha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda rabbee la yujalleeha liwaqtiha illa huwa thaqulat fee alssamawati waalardi la tateekum illa baghtatan yasaloonaka kaannaka hafiyyun AAanha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda Allahi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
তারা তোমার কাছে জানতে চাইছে, কিয়ামত অনুষ্ঠিত হবে কবে? তুমি বলো: ‘এ বিষয়ের জ্ঞান কেবল আমার প্রভুর কাছেই রয়েছে। কেবল তিনিই সময় মতো তা প্রকাশ করবেন। সেটা হবে মহাকাশ এবং পৃথিবীতে একটি ভয়ংকর ঘটনা। সেটা তোমাদের কাছে আসবে একেবারেই আকস্মিক।’ তারা এমনভাবে তোমাকে প্রশ্ন করছে যেনো এ বিষয়ে তুমি জানো। তুমি বলো: এ বিষয়ের জ্ঞান শুধু আল্লাহর কাছে। তবে অধিকাংশ মানুষই জানেনা।
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I possess no power over benefit or harm to myself except as Allah wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (Unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe."
Qul la amliku linafsee nafAAan wala darran illa ma shaa Allahu walaw kuntu aAAlamu alghayba laistakthartu mina alkhayri wama massaniya alssooo in ana illa natheerun wabasheerun liqawmin yuminoona
বলো: ‘আমার নিজের ভালো মন্দের ব্যাপারেও আমার কোনো হাত নেই, তবে যা ইচ্ছা করেন তা ছাড়া। আমি যদি জানতামই, তবে তো বেশি বেশি আমার নিজের কল্যাণ করতাম এবং কোনো অনিষ্টই আমাকে স্পর্শ করতোনা। আমি তো লোকদের জন্যে সতর্ককারী ও সুসংবাদদাতা ছাড়া আর কিছুই নই।’
It is He Who has created you from a single person (Adam), and (then) He has created from him his wife [Hawwa' (Eve)], in order that he might enjoy the pleasure of living with her. When he (a polytheist from Adam's offspring - as stated by Ibn Kathir in his Tafsir) had sexual relation with her (the polytheist's wife), she became pregnant and she carried it about lightly. Then when it became heavy, they both invoked Allah, their Lord (saying): "If You give us a Salih (good in every aspect) child, we shall indeed be among the grateful."
Huwa allathee khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin wajaAAala minha zawjaha liyaskuna ilayha falamma taghashshaha hamalat hamlan khafeefan famarrat bihi falamma athqalat daAAawa Allaha rabbahuma lain ataytana salihan lanakoonanna mina alshshakireena
তিনি তোমাদের একজন মাত্র ব্যক্তি থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তার থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন তার স্ত্রীকে যেনো সে তার কাছে শান্তি পায়। অতপর যখন সে তাকে ঝাপটে ধরে (সংগম করে) তখন সে হালকা গর্ভধারণ করে এবং তা নিয়েই চলা ফেরা করে। গর্ভ যখন ভারি হয়, তখন দুজনেই তাদের প্রভুর কাছে দোয়া করে: প্রভু! যদি আমাদেরকে একটি সালেহ্ (সৎ ও যোগ্য) সন্তান দান করো, তাহলে অবশ্যি আমরা শোকরগুজার হয়ে থাকবো।
But when He gave them (the polytheist and his wife) a Salih (good in every aspect) child, they ascribed partners to Him (Allah) in that which He has given to them. High be Allah, Exalted above all that they ascribe as partners to Him. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir).
Falamma atahuma salihan jaAAala lahu shurakaa feema atahuma fataAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoona
তারপর তিনি যখন তাদের যোগ্য সন্তান দান করেন, তারা তাদেরকে যা দেয়া হয় সে সম্পর্কে আল্লাহর সাথে শরিক করে। কিন্তু তারা আল্লাহর সাথে যাদের শরিক করে, তিনি তাদের চাইতে অনেক উর্ধ্বে।
Do they attribute as partners to Allah those who created nothing but they themselves are created?
Ayushrikoona ma la yakhluqu shayan wahum yukhlaqoona
তারা কি আল্লাহর সাথে এমন বস্ত্তকে শরিক করে যারা কিছু সৃষ্টি করেনা, বরং তারা নিজেরাই সৃষ্ট?
No help can they give them, nor can they help themselves.
Wala yastateeAAoona lahum nasran wala anfusahum yansuroona
তারা না তাদেরকে সাহায্য করতে পারে, আর না নিজেদেরকে সাহায্য করতে পারে।
And if you call them to guidance, they follow you not. It is the same for you whether you call them or you keep silent.
Wain tadAAoohum ila alhuda la yattabiAAookum sawaon AAalaykum adaAAawtumoohum am antum samitoona
তোমরা তাদেরকে হিদায়াতের দিকে দাওয়াত দিলে তারা তোমাদের অনুসরণ করেনা। আসলে তাদের দাওয়াত দাও, আর না দিয়ে চুপ থাকো, দুটোই সমান।
Verily, those whom you call upon besides Allah are slaves like you. So call upon them and let them answer you if you are truthful.
Inna allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi AAibadun amthalukum faodAAoohum falyastajeeboo lakum in kuntum sadiqeena
তোমরা ছাড়া যাদেরকে ডাকো তারা তো তোমাদের মতোই (আল্লাহর) দাস। সুতরাং তোমরা যদি সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকো তাহলে তাদের ডাকো আর তারা তোমাদের ডাকে সাড়া দিক তো!
Have they feet wherewith they walk? Or have they hands wherewith they hold? Or have they eyes wherewith they see? Or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Call your (so-called) partners (of Allah) and then plot against me, and give me no respite!
Alahum arjulun yamshoona biha am lahum aydin yabtishoona biha am lahum aAAyunun yubsiroona biha am lahum athanun yasmaAAoona biha quli odAAoo shurakaakum thumma keedooni fala tunthirooni
তাদের কি পা আছে, যা দিয়ে তারা চলে? নাকি তাদের হাত আছে, যা দিয়ে তারা ধরে? কিংবা তাদের কি চোখ আছে যা দিয়ে তারা দেখে? আর নাকি তাদের কান আছে যা দিয়ে তারা শুনে? বলো: ‘‘তোমরা যাদেরকে আল্লাহর শরিকদার বানিয়েছো তাদের ডাকো, আমার বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করো এবং আমাকে অবকাশ দিয়োনা।
Verily, my Wali (Protector, Supporter, and Helper) is Allah Who has revealed the Book (the Qur'an), and He protects (supports and helps) the righteous.
Inna waliyyiya Allahu allathee nazzala alkitaba wahuwa yatawalla alssaliheena
জেনে রাখো, আমার অলি হলেন , যিনি কিতাব নাযিল করেছেন আর তিনি তো কেবল পুণ্যবানদের অলি হিসেবেই দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।’’
And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allah) cannot help you nor can they help themselves.
Waallatheena tadAAoona min doonihi la yastateeAAoona nasrakum wala anfusahum yansuroona
তোমরা ছাড়া যাদের ডাকো, তারা তোমাদের সাহায্য করার সামর্থ রাখেনা, এমনকি তারা নিজেদেরকেও নিজেরা সাহায্য করতে পারেনা।
And if you call them to guidance, they hear not and you will see them looking at you, yet they see not.
Wain tadAAoohum ila alhuda la yasmaAAoo watarahum yanthuroona ilayka wahum la yubsiroona
তুমি যদি তাদেরকে হিদায়াতের দিকে আহবান করো, তারা কিছুই শুনবেনা। তুমি দেখবে তারা তোমার দিকে তাকিয়ে আছে, অথচ তারা কিছুই দেখেনা।
Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish (i.e. don't punish them).
Khuthi alAAafwa wamur bialAAurfi waaAArid AAani aljahileena
ক্ষমাশীলতা অবলম্বন করো, উত্তম কাজের আদেশ দাও এবং যালিমদের উপেক্ষা করে চলো।
And if an evil whisper comes to you from Shaitan (Satan), then seek refuge with Allah. Verily, He is All-Hearer, All-Knower.
Waimma yanzaghannaka mina alshshaytani nazghun faistaAAith biAllahi innahu sameeAAun AAaleemun
যদি শয়তানের কোনো কুমন্ত্রণা তোমাকে প্ররোচিত করে, তবে আল্লাহর আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করো। নিশ্চয়ই তিনি সব শুনেন, সব জানেন।
Verily, those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2), when an evil thought comes to them from Shaitan (Satan), they remember (Allah), and (indeed) they then see (aright).
Inna allatheena ittaqaw itha massahum taifun mina alshshaytani tathakkaroo faitha hum mubsiroona
তাকওয়া (সতর্কতা) অবলম্বনকারী লোকদের শয়তান যখন কুমন্ত্রণা দেয়, তখন তারা আল্লাহকে স্মরণ করে এবং সাথে সাথে তাদের চোখ খুলে যায়।
But (as for) their brothers (the devils) they (i.e. the devils) plunge them deeper into error, and they never stop short.
Waikhwanuhum yamuddoonahum fee alghayyi thumma la yuqsiroona
অথচ তাদের সংগি সাথিরা তাদের টেনে নেয় বিপথগামীতার দিকে এবং তারা কোনো প্রকার কসুর করেনা।
And if you do not bring them a miracle [according to their (i.e. Quraish-pagans') proposal], they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (the Qur'an) is nothing but evidence from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe."
Waitha lam tatihim biayatin qaloo lawla ijtabaytaha qul innama attabiAAu ma yooha ilayya min rabbee hatha basairu min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun liqawmin yuminoona
তুমি যখন তাদের সামনে কোনো নিদর্শন পেশ করছোনা, তখন তারা বলে, তুমি নিজেই কেন একটি নিদর্শন বাছাই করে নিচ্ছনা? তুমি বলো: আমি কেবল তারই অনুসরণ করি, যা আমার প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে আমাকে অহি করা হয়। এই (কুরআন) তোমাদের প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে একটি অন্তরদৃষ্টির আলো, একটি হিদায়াত এবং একটি রহমত লোকদের জন্যে।
So, when the Qur'an is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive mercy. [i.e. during the compulsory congregational prayers when the Imam (of a mosque) is leading the prayer (except Surat Al-Fatihah), and also when he is delivering the Friday-prayer Khutbah]. (Tafsir At-Tabari).
Waitha quria alquranu faistamiAAoo lahu waansitoo laAAallakum turhamoona
যখন কুরআন পাঠ করা হয়, তখন তোমরা তার দিকে মনোযোগ আরোপ করে শুনো এবং নীরবতা অবলম্বন করো, যাতে করে তোমরা রহমত প্রাপ্ত হও।
And remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and with fear and without loudness in words in the mornings, and in the afternoons and be not of those who are neglectful.
Waothkur rabbaka fee nafsika tadarruAAan wakheefatan wadoona aljahri mina alqawli bialghuduwwi waalasali wala takun mina alghafileena
তোমার প্রভুকে স্মরণ করো মনে মনে, বিনয়ের সাথে, অন্তরে ভয় নিয়ে, অনুচ্চ স্বরে, সকালে এবং সন্ধ্যায়। আর তুমি (এ ব্যাপারে) উদাসীনদের অন্তরভুক্ত হয়োনা।
Surely, those who are with your Lord (angels) are never too proud to perform acts of worship to Him, but they glorify His Praise and prostrate themselves before Him.
Inna allatheena AAinda rabbika la yastakbiroona AAan AAibadatihi wayusabbihoonahu walahu yasjudoona
তোমার প্রভুর কাছাকাছি যারা রয়েছে তারা তাঁর আনুগত্য ও দাসত্ব করার ব্যাপারে কোনো প্রকার অহংকার করেনা। তারা তাঁর তসবিহ্ করে এবং তাঁরই জন্যে সাজদা - অবনত থাকে।
