Hilali & Muhsin Khan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. They ask you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) about the spoils of war. Say: "The spoils are for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), if you are believers.

Yasaloonaka AAani alanfali quli alanfalu lillahi waalrrasooli faittaqoo Allaha waaslihoo thata baynikum waateeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu in kuntum mumineena

পরম দয়ালু, পরম ক্ষমাশীল আল্লাহর নামে; লোকে তোমাকে যুদ্ধলব্ধ সম্পদ সম্বন্ধে প্রশ্ন করে ; বল, ‘যুদ্ধলব্ধ সম্পদ এবং রাসূলের; সুতরাং কে ভয় কর এবং নিজেদের মধ্যে সদ্ভাব স্থাপন কর, এবং ও তাঁহার রাসূলের আনুগত্য কর, যদি তোমরা হও।’

The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur'an) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone);
তো তাহারাই, যাহাদের হৃদয় কম্পিত হয় যখন স্মরণ করা হয় এবং যখন তাঁহার আয়াত তাহাদের নিকট পাঠ করা হয়, তখন উহা তাহাদের ঈমান বৃদ্ধি করে এবং তাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের উপরই নির্ভর করে,

Who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and spend out of that We have provided them.
সত্য স্পষ্টভাবে প্রকাশিত হওয়ার পরও তাহারা তোমার সঙ্গে বিতর্কে লিপ্ত হয়। মনে হইতেছিল তাহারা যেন মৃত্যুর দিকে চালিত হইতেছে আর তাহারা যেন উহা প্রত্যক্ষ করিতেছে।

And (remember) when Allah promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours; you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the truth by His Words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. in the battle of Badr).

Waith yaAAidukumu Allahu ihda alttaifatayni annaha lakum watawaddoona anna ghayra thati alshshawkati takoonu lakum wayureedu Allahu an yuhiqqa alhaqqa bikalimatihi wayaqtaAAa dabira alkafireena

স্মরণ কর, তোমাদেরকে প্রতিশ্রুতি দেন যে, দুই দলের একদল তোমাদের আয়ত্তাধীন হইবে; অথচ তোমরা চাহিতেছিলে, নিরস্ত্র দলটি তোমাদের আয়ত্তাধীন হউক। আর চাহিতেছিলেন যে, তিনি সত্যকে তাঁহার বাণী দ্বারা প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন এবং কাফিরদেরকে নির্মূল করেন;

That He might cause the truth to triumph and bring falsehood to nothing, even though the Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals) hate it.
ইহা এইজন্য যে, তিনি সত্যকে সত্য ও অসত্যকে অসত্য প্রতিপন্ন করেন, যদিও অপরাধীরা ইহা পছন্দকরে না।

(Remember) when you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other (following one another) in succession."
স্মরণ কর, যখন তোমরা তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করিয়াছিলে; তখন তিনি তোমাদেরকে জবাব দিয়াছিলেন, ‘আমি তোমাদেরকে সাহায্য করিব এক সহস্র ফিরিশ্তা দ্বারা, যাহারা একের পর এক আসিবে।’

Allah made it only as glad tidings, and that your hearts be at rest therewith. And there is no victory except from Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
Transliteration
Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra walitatmainna bihi quloobukum wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun
সমকালীন বাংলা
ইহা করেন কেবল শুভ সংবাদ দেওয়ার জন্য এবং এই উদ্দেশ্যে, যাহাতে তোমাদের চিত্ত প্রশান্তি লাভ করে; এবং সাহায্য তো শুধু আল্লাহর নিকট হইতেই আসে; নিশ্চয়ই পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

(Remember) when He covered you with a slumber as a security from Him, and He caused water (rain) to descend on you from the sky, to clean you thereby and to remove from you the Rijz (whispering, evil-suggestions) of Shaitan (Satan), and to strengthen your hearts, and make your feet firm thereby.
স্মরণ কর, তিনি তাঁহার পক্ষ হইতে স্বস্তির জন্য তোমাদেরকে তন্দ্রায় আচ্ছন্ন করেন এবং আকাশ হইতে তোমাদের উপর বারি বর্ষণ করেন উহা দ্বারা তোমাদেরকে পবিত্র করিবার জন্য, তোমাদের মধ্য হইতে শয়তানের কুমন্ত্রণা অপসারণের জন্য, তোমাদের হৃদয় দৃঢ় করিবার জন্য এবং তোমাদের পা স্থির রাখিবার জন্য।

(Remember) when your Lord revealed to the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."
স্মরণ কর, তোমাদের প্রতিপালক ফিরিশ্তাগণের প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ করেন, ‘আমি তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছি, সুতরাং মু’মিনগণকে অবিচলিত রাখ।’ যাহারা করে আমি তাহাদের হৃদয়ে ভীতির সঞ্চার করিব ; সুতরাং তোমরা আঘাত কর তাহাদের স্কন্ধে ও আঘাত কর তাহাদের প্রত্যেক আঙ্গুলের অগ্রভাগে।

This is because they defied and disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever defies and disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.
Transliteration
Thalika biannahum shaqqoo Allaha warasoolahu waman yushaqiqi Allaha warasoolahu fainna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi
সমকালীন বাংলা
ইহা এইহেতু যে, তাহারা আল্লাহ্ও তাঁহার রাসূলের বিরোধিতা করে এবং কেহ ও তাঁহার রাসূলের বিরোধিতা করিলে তো শাস্তিদানে কঠোর।

This is (the torment), so taste it; and surely for the disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.
সুতরাং ইহার আস্বাদ গ্রহণ কর এবং কাফিরদের জন্য দোজখের শাস্তি রহিয়াছে।

O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve, in a battle-field, never turn your backs to them.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha laqeetumu allatheena kafaroo zahfan fala tuwalloohumu aladbara

হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমরা যখন বাহিনীর সম্মুখীন হইবে তখন তোমরা তাহাদের পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শন করিবে না;

And whoever turns his back to them on such a day - unless it be a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own), - he indeed has drawn upon himself wrath from Allah. And his abode is Hell, and worst indeed is that destination!

Waman yuwallihim yawmaithin duburahu illa mutaharrifan liqitalin aw mutahayyizan ila fiatin faqad baa bighadabin mina Allahi wamawahu jahannamu wabisa almaseeru
সমকালীন বাংলা
সেদিন যুদ্ধ - কৌশল অবলম্বন কিংবা দলে স্থান নেওয়া ব্যতীত কেহ তাহাদেরকে পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শন করিলে সে তো আল্লাহর বিরাগভাজন হইবে এবং তাহার আশ্রয় জাহান্নাম, আর উহা কত নিকৃষ্ট প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল!

You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) threw not when you did throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

Falam taqtuloohum walakinna Allaha qatalahum wama ramayta ith ramayta walakinna Allaha rama waliyubliya almumineena minhu balaan hasanan inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun

তোমরা তাহাদেরকে হত্যা কর নাই, তাহাদেরকে হত্যা করিয়াছেন, এবং তুমি যখন নিক্ষেপ করিয়াছিলে তখন তুমি নিক্ষেপ কর নাই, আল্লাহ্ই নিক্ষেপ করিয়াছিলেন, এবং ইহা মু’মিনগণকে আল্লাহর পক্ষ হইতে উত্তমরুপে পরীক্ষা করিবার জন্য; সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।

This (is the fact) and surely, Allah weakens the deceitful plots of the disbelievers.
Transliteration
Thalikum waanna Allaha moohinu kaydi alkafireena

ইহাই তোমাদের জন্য, কাফিরদের ষড়যন্ত্র দুর্বল করেন।

(O disbelievers) if you ask for a judgement, now has the judgement come unto you; and if you cease (to do wrong), it will be better for you, and if you return (to the attack), so shall We return, and your forces will be of no avail to you, however numerous they be; and verily, Allah is with the believers.
তোমরা মীমাংসা চাহিয়াছিলে, তাহা তো তোমাদের নিকট আসিয়াছে; যদি তোমরা বিরত হও তবে উহা তোমাদের জন্য কল্যাণকর ; যদি তোমরা পুনরায় কর তাতে আমিও পুনরায় শাস্তি দিব এবং তোমাদের দল সংখ্যায় অধিক হইলেও তোমাদের কোন কাজে আসিবে না, এবং নিশ্চয়ই মু’মিনদের সঙ্গে রহিয়াছেন।

O you who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger, and turn not away from him (i.e. Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) while you are hearing.
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ateeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu wala tawallaw AAanhu waantum tasmaAAoona
সমকালীন বাংলা
হে মু’মিনগণ! আল্লাহ্ও তাঁহার রাসূলের আনুগত্য কর এবং তোমরা যখন তাহার কথা শ্রবণ করিতেছ তখন উহা হইতে মুখ ফিরাইও না;

And be not like those who say: "We have heard," but they hear not.
Transliteration
Wala takoonoo kaallatheena qaloo samiAAna wahum la yasmaAAoona

এবং তোমরা তাহাদের ন্যায় হইও না, যাহারা বলে, ‘শ্রবণ করিলাম’, বস্তুত তাহারা শ্রবণ করে না।

Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, who understand not (i.e. the disbelievers).
Transliteration
Inna sharra alddawabbi AAinda Allahi alssummu albukmu allatheena la yaAAqiloona

আল্লাহর নিকট নিকৃষ্টতম জীব সেই বধির ও মূক যাহারা কিছুই বোঝে না।

Had Allah known of any good in them, He would indeed have made them listen; and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away with aversion (to the truth).
যদি তাহাদের মধ্যে ভাল কিছু দেখিতেন তবে তিনি তাহাদেরকেও শুনাইতেন, কিন্তু তিনি তাহাদেরকে শুনাইলেও তাহারা উপেক্ষা করিয়া মুখ ফিরাইত।

O you who believe! Answer Allah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he (صلى الله عليه وسلم) calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo istajeeboo lillahi walilrrasooli itha daAAakum lima yuhyeekum waiAAlamoo anna Allaha yahoolu bayna almari waqalbihi waannahu ilayhi tuhsharoona

হে মু’মিনগণ! রাসূল যখন তোমাদেরকে এমন কিছুর দিকে আহ্বান করে যাহা তোমাদেরকে প্রাণবন্তকরে, তখন ও রাসূলের আহ্বানে সাড়া দিবে এবং জানিয়া রাখ, মানুষ ও তাহার অন্তরের মধ্যবর্তী হইয়া থাকেন, এবং তাঁহারই নিকট তোমাদেরকে একত্র করা হইবে।

And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment.

Waittaqoo fitnatan la tuseebanna allatheena thalamoo minkum khassatan waiAAlamoo anna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi

তোমরা এমন ফিত্নাকে ভয় কর যাহা বিশেষ করিয়া তোমাদের মধ্যে যাহারা কেবল তাহাদেরকেই ক্লিষ্ট করিবে না এবং জানিয়া রাখ, নিশ্চয়ই শাস্তিদানে কঠোর।

And remember when you were few and were reckoned weak in the land, and were afraid that men might kidnap you, but He provided a safe place for you, strengthened you with His Help, and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful.
Transliteration
Waothkuroo ith antum qaleelun mustadAAafoona fee alardi takhafoona an yatakhattafakumu alnnasu faawakum waayyadakum binasrihi warazaqakum mina alttayyibati laAAallakum tashkuroona
সমকালীন বাংলা
স্মরণ কর, তোমরা ছিলে স্বল্পসংখ্যক; পৃথিবীতে তোমরা দুর্বলরূপে পরিগণিত হইতে। তোমরা আশংকা করিতে যে, লোকেরা তোমাদেরকে অকস্মাৎ ধরিয়া লইয়া যাইবে। অতঃপর তিনি তোমাদেরকে আশ্রয় দেন, স্বীয় সাহায্য দ্বারা তোমাদেরকে শক্তিশালী করেন এবং তোমাদেরকে উত্তম বস্তুসমূহ জীবিকারূপে দান করেন, যাহাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞ হও।

O you who believe! Betray not Allah and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amanat (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allah has ordained for you).

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la takhoonoo Allaha waalrrasoola watakhoonoo amanatikum waantum taAAlamoona

হে মু’মিনগণ! জানিয়া - শুনিয়া ও তাঁহার রাসূলের সঙ্গে বিশ্বাস ভংগ করিবে না এবং তোমাদের পরস্পরের আমানত সম্পর্কেও বিশ্বাস ভংগ করিও না

And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allah is a mighty reward.
Transliteration
WaiAAlamoo annama amwalukum waawladukum fitnatun waanna Allaha AAindahu ajrun AAatheemun

এবং জানিয়া রাখ, তোমাদের ধন - সম্পদ ও সন্তান - সন্ততি তো এক পরীক্ষা এবং নিকট মহাপুরস্কার রহিয়াছে।

O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan [(a criterion to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you; and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tattaqoo Allaha yajAAal lakum furqanan wayukaffir AAankum sayyiatikum wayaghfir lakum waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi
সমকালীন বাংলা
হে মু’মিনগণ! যদি তোমরা কে ভয় কর তবে তোমাদেরকে ন্যায় - অন্যায় পার্থক্য করিবার শক্তি দিবেন, তোমাদের পাপ মোচন করিবেন এবং তোমাদেরকে ক্ষমা করিবেন এবং অতিশয় মঙ্গলময়।

And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to imprison you, or to kill you, or to get you out (from your home, i.e. Makkah); they were plotting and Allah too was plotting; and Allah is the Best of those who plot.

Waith yamkuru bika allatheena kafaroo liyuthbitooka aw yaqtulooka aw yukhrijooka wayamkuroona wayamkuru Allahu waAllahu khayru almakireena
সমকালীন বাংলা
স্মরণ কর, কাফিররা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করে তোমাকে বন্দী করিবার জন্য, হত্যা করিবার অথবা নির্বাসিত করিবার জন্য এবং তাহারা ষড়যন্ত্র করে এবং কৌশল করেন; আর আল্লাহ্ই সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ কৌশলী।

And when Our Verses (of the Qur'an) are recited to them, they say: "We have heard (the Qur'an); if we wish we can say the like of this. This is nothing but the tales of the ancients."

Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna qaloo qad samiAAna law nashao laqulna mithla hatha in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena

যখন তাহাদের নিকট আমার আয়াতসমূহ পাঠ করা হয় তাহারা তখন বলে, ‘আমরা তো শ্রবণ করিলাম, ইচ্ছা করিলে আমরাও ইহার অনুরূপ বলিতে পারি, ইহা তো শুধু সেকালের লোকদের উপকথা।’

And (remember) when they said: "O Allah! If this (the Qur'an) is indeed the truth (revealed) from You, then rain down stones on us from the sky or bring on us a painful torment."

Waith qaloo allahumma in kana hatha huwa alhaqqa min AAindika faamtir AAalaynahijaratan mina alssamai awi itina biAAathabin aleemin
সমকালীন বাংলা
স্মরণ কর, তাহারা বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে ইহা যদি তোমার পক্ষ হইতে সত্য হয়, তবে আমাদের উপর আকাশ হইতে প্রস্তর বর্ষণ কর কিংবা আমাদেরকে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি দাও।’

And Allah would not punish them while you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) are amongst them, nor will He punish them while they seek (Allah's) Forgiveness.
Transliteration
Wama kana Allahu liyuAAaththibahum waanta feehim wama kana Allahu muAAaththibahum wahum yastaghfiroona

এমন নন যে, তুমি তাহাদের মধ্যে থাকিবে, অথচ তিনি তাহাদেরকে শাস্তিদিবেন, এবং এমনও নন যে, তাহারা ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করিবে অথচ তিনি তাহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিবেন।

And why should not Allah punish them while they hinder (men) from Al-Masjid-Al-Haram, and they are not its guardians? None can be its guardians except Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2), but most of them know not.

Wama lahum alla yuAAaththibahumu Allahu wahum yasuddoona AAani almasjidi alharami wama kanoo awliyaahu in awliyaohu illa almuttaqoona walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

এবং তাহাদের কী বা বলিবার আছে যে, তাহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিবেন না, যখন তাহারা লোকদেরকে মসজিদুল হারাম হইতে নিবৃত্ত করে? তাহারা উহার তত্ত্বাবধায়ক নয়, শুধু মুত্তাকীগণই উহার তত্ত্বাবধায়ক; কিন্তু তাহাদের অধিকাংশ ইহা অবগত নয়।

Their Salat (prayer) at the House (of Allah, i.e. the Ka'bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Therefore taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve.

Wama kana salatuhum AAinda albayti illa mukaan watasdiyatan fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

কা‘বাগৃহের নিকট শুধু শিস ও করতালি দেওয়াই তাহাদের , সুতরাং কুফরীর জন্য তোমরা শাস্তি ভোগ কর।

Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Hell.
পথ হইতে লোককে নিবৃত্ত করার জন্য কাফিররা তাহাদের ধনসম্পদ ব্যয় করে, তাহারা ধন - সম্পদ ব্যয় করিতেই থাকিবে; অতঃপর উহা তাহাদের মনস্তাপের কারণ হইবে; ইহার পর তাহারা পরাভূত হইবে এবং যাহারা করে তাহাদেরকে জাহান্নামে একত্র করা হইবে।

In order that Allah may distinguish the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) from the good (believers of Islamic Monotheism and doers of righteous deeds), and put the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) one over another, heap them together and cast them into Hell. Those! it is they who are the losers.
ইহা এইজন্য যে, কুজনকে সুজন হইতে পৃক করিবেন এবং কুজনদের এককে অপরের উপর রাখিবেন, অতঃপর সকলকে স্তূপীকৃত করিয়া জাহান্নামে নিক্ষেপ করিবেন, ইহারাই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।

Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief), their past will be forgiven. But if they return (thereto), then the examples of those (punished) before them have already preceded (as a warning).

Qul lillatheena kafaroo in yantahoo yughfar lahum ma qad salafa wain yaAAoodoo faqad madat sunnatu alawwaleena

যাহারা করে তাহাদেরকে বল, ‘যদি তাহারা বিরত হয় তবে যাহা অতীতে হইয়াছে তাহা ক্ষমা করিবেন; কিন্তু তাহারা যদি অন্যায়ের পুনরাবৃত্তি করে তবে পূর্ববর্তীদের দৃষ্টান্ত তো রহিয়াছে।

And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism, i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do.

Waqatiloohum hatta la takoona fitnatun wayakoona alddeenu kulluhu lillahi faini intahaw fainna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona baseerun

And if they turn away, then know that Allah is your Maula (Patron, Lord, Protector and Supporter) - (what) an Excellent Maula and (what) an Excellent Helper!

Wain tawallaw faiAAlamoo anna Allaha mawlakum niAAma almawla waniAAma alnnaseeru

যদি তাহারা মুখ ফিরায় তবে জানিয়া রাখ, তোমাদের অভিভাবক; কত উত্তম অভিভাবক এবং কত উত্তম সাহায্যকারী!

And know that whatever of war-booty that you may gain, verily one-fifth (1/5th) of it is assigned to Allah, and to the Messenger, and to the near relatives [of the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)], (and also) the orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor) and the wayfarer, if you have believed in Allah and in that which We sent down to Our slave (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) on the Day of criterion (between right and wrong), the Day when the two forces met (the battle of Badr); And Allah is able to do all things.
আরও জানিয়া রাখ, যুদ্ধে যাহা তোমরা লাভ কর তাহার এক - পঞ্চমাংশ রাসূলের, রাসূলের স্বজনদের, ইয়াতীমদের, মিস্কীনদের এবং মুসাফিরদের, যদি তোমরা ঈমান রাখ এবং তাহাতে যাহা মীমাংসার দিন আমি আমার বান্দার প্রতি অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছিলাম, যেই দিন দুই দল পরস্পরের সম্মুখীন হইয়াছিল এবং সর্ববিষয়ে শক্তিমান।

(And remember) when you (the Muslim army) were on the near side of the valley, and they on the farther side, and the caravan on the ground lower than you. Even if you had made a mutual appointment to meet, you would certainly have failed in the appointment, but (you met) that Allah might accomplish a matter already ordained (in His Knowledge), so that those who were to be destroyed (for their rejecting the Faith) might be destroyed after a clear evidence, and those who were to live (i.e. believers) might live after a clear evidence. And surely, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

Ith antum bialAAudwati alddunya wahum bialAAudwati alquswa waalrrakbu asfala minkum walaw tawaAAadtum laikhtalaftum fee almeeAAadi walakin liyaqdiya Allahu amran kana mafAAoolan liyahlika man halaka AAan bayyinatin wayahya man hayya AAan bayyinatin wainna Allaha lasameeAAun AAaleemun

স্মরণ কর, তোমরা ছিলে উপত্যকার নিকটপ্রান্তেএবং তাহারা ছিল দূরপ্রান্তেআর উষ্ট্রারোহী দল ছিল তোমাদের অপেক্ষা নিুভূমিতে। যদি তোমরা পরস্পরের মধ্যে যুদ্ধ সম্পর্কে কোন সিদ্ধান্ত করিতে চাহিতে তবে এই সিদ্ধান্তসম্পর্কে তোমাদের মধ্যে মতভেদ ঘটিত। কিন্তু যাহা ঘটিবার ছিল, তাহা সম্পন্ন করিলেন, যাহাতে যে কেহ ধ্বংস হইবে সে যেন সত্যাসত্য স্পষ্ট প্রকাশের পর ধ্বংস হয় এবং যে জীবিত থাকিবে সে যেন সত্যাসত্য স্পষ্ট প্রকাশের পর জীবিত থাকে; তো সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।

(And remember) when Allah showed them to you as few in your (i.e. Muhammad's صلى الله عليه وسلم) dream; if He had shown them to you as many, you would surely have been discouraged, and you would surely have disputed in making a decision. But Allah saved (you). Certainly, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts.
স্মরণ কর, তোমাকে স্বপ্নে দেখাইয়াছিলেন যে, তাহারা সংখ্যায় অল্প; যদি তোমাকে দেখাইতেন, তাহারা সংখ্যায় অধিক তবে তোমরা সাহস হারাইতে এবং যুদ্ধ বিষয়ে নিজেদের মধ্যে বিরোধ সৃষ্টি করিতে। কিন্তু তোমাদেরকে রক্ষা করিয়াছিলেন এবং অন্তরে যাহা আছে সে সম্বন্ধে তিনি বিশেষভাবে অবহিত।

And (remember) when you met (the army of the disbelievers on the Day of the battle of Badr), He showed them to you as few in your eyes and He made you appear as few in their eyes, so that Allah might accomplish a matter already ordained (in His Knowledge), and to Allah return all matters (for decision).

Waith yureekumoohum ithi iltaqaytum fee aAAyunikum qaleelan wayuqallilukum fee aAAyunihim liyaqdiya Allahu amran kana mafAAoolan waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru

স্মরণ কর, তোমরা যখন পরস্পরের সম্মুখীন হইয়াছিলে তখন তিনি তাহাদেরকে তোমাদের দৃষ্টিতে স্বল্পসংখ্যক দেখাইয়াছিলেন এবং তোমাদেরকে তাহাদের দৃষ্টিতে স্বল্পসংখ্যক দেখাইয়াছিলেন, যাহা ঘটিবার ছিল তাহা সম্পন্ন করিবার জন্য। সমস্ত বিষয় আল্লাহর দিকেই প্রত্যাবর্তিত হয়।

O you who believe! When you meet (an enemy) force, take a firm stand against them and remember the Name of Allah much (both with tongue and mind), so that you may be .

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha laqeetum fiatan faothbutoo waothkuroo Allaha katheeran laAAallakum tuflihoona

হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমরা যখন কোন দলের সম্মুখীন হইবে তখন অবিচল থাকিবে এবং কে অধিক স্মরণ করিবে, যাহাতে তোমরা হও।

And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength departs, and be patient. Surely, Allah is with those who are As-Sabirun (the patient).

WaateeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu wala tanazaAAoo fatafshaloo watathhaba reehukum waisbiroo inna Allaha maAAa alssabireena

তোমরা ও তাঁহার রাসূলের আনুগত্য করিবে ও নিজেদের মধ্যে বিবাদ করিবে না; করিলে তোমরা সাহস হারাইবে এবং তোমাদের শক্তি বিলুপ্ত হইবে। তোমরা ধৈর্য ধারণ কর;

And be not like those who come out of their homes boastfully and to be seen of men, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah; and Allah is Muhitun (encircling and thoroughly comprehending) all that they do.
তোমরা তাহাদের ন্যায় হইও না যাহারা দম্ভভরে ও লোক দেখাইবার জন্য স্বীয় গৃহ হইতে বাহির হইয়াছিল এবং লোককে পথ হইতে নিবৃত্ত করে। তাহারা যাহা করে তাহা পরিবেষ্টন করিয়া রহিয়াছেন।

And (remember) when Shaitan (Satan) made their (evil) deeds seem fair to them and said, "No one of mankind can overcome you this Day (of the battle of Badr) and verily, I am your neighbour (for each and every help)." But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he ran away and said "Verily, I have nothing to do with you. Verily! I see what you see not. Verily! I fear Allah for Allah is Severe in punishment."

Waith zayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum waqala la ghaliba lakumu alyawma mina alnnasi wainnee jarun lakum falamma taraati alfiatani nakasa AAala AAaqibayhi waqala innee bareeon minkum innee ara ma la tarawna innee akhafu Allaha waAllahu shadeedu alAAiqabi

When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease (of disbelief) said: "These people (Muslims) are deceived by their religion." But whoever puts his trust in Allah, then surely, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
স্মরণ কর, শয়তান যখন তাহাদের কার্যাবলী তাহাদের দৃষ্টিতে শোভন করিয়াছিল এবং বলিয়াছিল, ‘আজ মানুষের মধ্যে কেহই তোমাদের উপর বিজয়ী হইবে না, আমি তোমাদের পাশেই থাকিব;’ অতঃপর দুই দল যখন পরস্পরের সম্মুখীন হইল তখন সে পিছনে সরিয়া পড়িল ও বলিল, ‘তোমাদের সঙ্গে আমার কোন সম্পর্ক রহিল না, তোমরা যাহা দেখিতে পাও না আমি তো তাহা দেখি, নিশ্চয়ই আমি কে ভয় করি, ‘আর শাস্তিদানে কঠোর।

And if you could see when the angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve (at death); they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): "Taste the punishment of the blazing Fire."
তুমি যদি দেখিতে পাইতে ফিরিশ্তাগণ কাফিরদের মুখমণ্ডলে ও পৃষ্ঠদেশে আঘাত করিয়া তাহাদের প্রাণ হরণ করিতেছে এবং বলিতেছে, ‘তোমরা দহনযন্ত্রণা ভোগ কর।’

"This is because of that which your hands had forwarded. And verily, Allah is not unjust to His slaves."
Transliteration
Thalika bima qaddamat aydeekum waanna Allaha laysa bithallamin lilAAabeedi

ইহা তাহা, তোমাদের হস্ত যাহা পূর্বে প্রেরণ করিয়াছিল, তো তাহার বান্দাদের প্রতি অত্যাচারী নন।

Similar to the behaviour of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and of those before them - they rejected the Ayat (proofs, verses, etc.) of Allah, so Allah punished them for their sins. Verily, Allah is All-Strong, Severe in punishment.

Kadabi ali firAAawna waallatheena min qablihim kafaroo biayati Allahi faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihim inna Allaha qawiyyun shadeedu alAAiqabi

ফির‘আওনের স্বজন ও উহাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের অভ্যাসের ন্যায় ইহারা আল্লাহর নিদর্শনকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে; সুতরাং ইহাদের পাপের জন্য ইহাদেরকে শাস্তি দেন। নিশ্চয়ই শক্তিমান, শাস্তিদানে কঠোর;

That is so because Allah will never change a grace which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their ownselves. And verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

Thalika bianna Allaha lam yaku mughayyiran niAAmatan anAAamaha AAala qawmin hatta yughayyiroo ma bianfusihim waanna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun

ইহা এইজন্য যে, যদি কোন সম্প্রদায় নিজের অবস্থার পরিবর্তন না করে তবে এমন নন যে, তিনি উহাদেরকে যে সম্পদ দান করিয়াছেন, উহা পরিবর্তন করিবেন; এবং নিশ্চয়ই সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।

Similar to the behaviour of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before them. They belied the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, so We destroyed them for their sins, and We drowned the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) for they were all Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers).

Kadabi ali firAAawna waallatheena min qablihim kaththaboo biayati rabbihim faahlaknahum bithunoobihim waaghraqnaala firAAawna wakullun kanoo thalimeena

ফির‘আওনের স্বজন ও তাহাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের অভ্যাসের ন্যায় ইহারা ইহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিদর্শনকে অস্বীকার করে। তাহাদের পাপের জন্য আমি তাহাদেরকে ধ্বংস করিয়াছি এবং ফির‘আওনের স্বজনকে নিমজ্জিত করিয়াছি এবং তাহারা সকলেই ছিল ।

Verily, The worst of moving (living) creatures before Allah are those who disbelieve , - so they shall not believe.

Inna sharra alddawabbi AAinda Allahi allatheena kafaroo fahum la yuminoona

আল্লাহর নিকট নিকৃষ্ট জীব তাহরাই যাহারা করে এবং ঈমান আনে না।

They are those with whom you made a covenant, but they break their covenant every time and they do not fear Allah.
উহাদের মধ্যে তুমি যাহাদের সঙ্গে চুক্তিতে আবদ্ধ, তাহারা প্রত্যেকবার তাহাদের চুক্তি ভঙ্গ করে এবং তাহারা সাবধান হয় না;

So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.
Transliteration
Faimma tathqafannahum fee alharbi fasharrid bihim man khalfahum laAAallahum yaththakkaroona

যুদ্ধে উহাদেরকে তোমরা যদি তোমাদের আয়ত্তে পাও তবে উহাদেরকে উহাদের পশ্চাতে যাহারা আছে, তাহাদের হইতে বিচ্ছিন্ন করিয়া এমনভাবে বিধ্বস্ত করিবে, যাহাতে উহারা শিক্ষা লাভ করে।

If you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) fear treachery from any people throw back (their covenant) to them (so as to be) on equal terms (that there will be no more covenant between you and them). Certainly Allah likes not the treacherous.
Transliteration
Waimma takhafanna min qawmin khiyanatan fainbith ilayhim AAala sawain inna Allaha la yuhibbu alkhaineena

যদি তুমি কোন সম্প্রদায়ের চুক্তিভঙ্গের আশংকা কর তবে তোমার চুক্তিও তুমি যথাযথ বাতিল করিবে; নিশ্চয়ই চুক্তি ভঙ্গকারীদেরকে পছন্দ করেন না।

And let not those who disbelieve think that they can outstrip (escape from the punishment). Verily, they will never be able to save themselves (from Allah's Punishment).

Wala yahsabanna allatheena kafaroo sabaqoo innahum la yuAAjizoona

কাফিররা যেন কখনও মনে না করে যে, তাহারা পরিত্রাণ পাইয়াছে ; নিশ্চয়ই তাহারা মু’মিনগণকে হতবল করিতে পারিবে না।

And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allah does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly.

WaaAAiddoo lahum ma istataAAtum min quwwatin wamin ribati alkhayli turhiboona bihi AAaduwwa Allahi waAAaduwwakum waakhareena min doonihim la taAAlamoonahumu Allahu yaAAlamuhum wama tunfiqoo min shayin fee sabeeli Allahi yuwaffa ilaykum waantum la tuthlamoona

তোমরা তাহাদের মুকাবিলার জন্য যথাসাধ্য শক্তি ও অশ্ববাহিনী প্রস্তুত রাখিবে - এতদ্বারা তোমরা সন্ত্রস্ত করিবে শত্রুক, তোমাদের শত্রুকে এবং এতদ্ব্যতীত অন্যদেরকে যাহাদেরকে তোমরা জান না, তাহাদেরকে জানেন। আল্লাহর পথে তোমরা যাহা কিছু ব্যয় করিবে উহার পূর্ণপ্রতিদান তোমাদেরকে দেওয়া হইবে এবং তোমাদের প্রতি জুলুম করা হইবে না।

But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allah. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
তাহারা যদি সন্ধির দিকে ঝুঁকিয়া পড়ে তবে তুমিও সন্ধির দিকে ঝুঁকিবে এবং আল্লাহর উপর নির্ভর করিবে; তিনিই সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।

And if they intend to deceive you, then verily, Allah is All-Sufficient for you. He it is Who has supported you with His Help and with the believers.
Transliteration
Wain yureedoo an yakhdaAAooka fainna hasbaka Allahu huwa allathee ayyadaka binasrihi wabialmumineena

যদি তাহারা তোমাকে প্রতারিত করিতে চায় তবে তোমার জন্য যথেষ্ট; তিনি তোমাকে স্বীয় সাহায্য ও মু’মিনদের দ্বারা শক্তিশালী করিয়াছেন,

And He has united their (i.e. believers') hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah has united them. Certainly He is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Waallafa bayna quloobihim law anfaqta ma fee alardi jameeAAan ma allafta bayna quloobihim walakinna Allaha allafa baynahum innahu AAazeezun hakeemun

এবং তিনি উহাদের পরস্পরের হৃদয়ের মধ্যে প্রীতি স্থাপন করিয়াছেন। পৃথিবীর যাবতীয় সম্পদ ব্যয় করিলেও তুমি তাহাদের হৃদয়ে প্রীতি স্থাপন করিতে পারিতে না; কিন্তু তাহাদের মধ্যে প্রীতি স্থাপন করিয়াছেন; নিশ্চয়ই তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

O Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)! Allah is Sufficient for you and for the believers who follow you.

Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu hasbuka Allahu wamani ittabaAAaka mina almumineena

হে নবী! তোমার জন্য ও তোমার অনুসারী মু’মিনদের জন্য আল্লাহই যথেষ্ট।

O Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)! Urge the believers to fight. If there are twenty steadfast persons amongst you, they will overcome two hundreds, and if there be a hundred steadfast persons they will overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they (the disbelievers) are people who do not understand.
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu harridi almumineena AAala alqitali in yakun minkum AAishroona sabiroona yaghliboo miatayni wain yakun minkum miatun yaghliboo alfan mina allatheena kafaroo biannahum qawmun la yafqahoona

হে নবী ! মু’মিনদেরকে যুদ্ধের জন্য উদ্বুদ্ধ কর; তোমাদের মধ্যে কুড়িজন ধৈর্যশীল থাকিলে তাহারা দুই শত জনের উপর বিজয়ী হইবে এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে এক শত জন থাকিলে এক সহস্র কাফিরের উপর বিজয়ী হইবে। কারণ তাহারা এমন এক সম্প্রদায়, যাহার বোধশক্তি নাই।

Now Allah has lightened your (task), for He knows that there is weakness in you. So if there are of you a hundred steadfast persons, they shall overcome two hundreds, and if there are a thousand of you, they shall overcome two thousand with the Leave of Allah. And Allah is with As-Sabirun (the patient).
এখন তোমাদের ভার লাঘব করিলেন। তিনি অবগত আছেন যে, তোমাদের মধ্যে দুর্বলতা আছে; সুতরাং তোমাদের মধ্যে এক শত জন ধৈর্যশীল থাকিলে তাহারা দুই শত জনের উপর বিজয়ী হইবে। আর তোমাদের মধ্যে এক সহস্র থাকিলে অনুজ্ঞাক্রমে তাহারা দুই সহস্রের উপর বিজয়ী হইবে। ধৈর্যশীলদের সঙ্গে আছেন।

It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Ma kana linabiyyin an yakoona lahu asrahatta yuthkhina fee alardi tureedoona AAarada alddunya waAllahu yureedu alakhirata waAllahu AAazeezun hakeemun

দেশে ব্যাপকভাবে শত্রুকে পরাভূত না করা পর্যন্ত বন্দী রাখা কোন নবীর জন্য সংগত নয়। তোমরা কামনা কর পার্থিব সম্পদ এবং চান পরলোকের কল্যাণ; পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

Were it not a previous ordainment from Allah, a severe torment would have touched you for what you took.

Lawla kitabun mina Allahi sabaqa lamassakum feema akhathtum AAathabun AAatheemun

পূর্ববিধান না থাকিলে তোমরা যাহা গ্রহণ করিয়াছ তজ্জন্য তোমাদের উপর মহাশাস্তি আপতিত হইত।

So enjoy what you have gotten of booty in war, lawful and good, and be afraid of Allah. Certainly, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Fakuloo mimma ghanimtum halalan tayyiban waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

যুদ্ধে যাহা তোমরা লাভ করিয়াছ তাহা বৈধ ও উত্তম বলিয়া ভোগ কর এবং ভয় কর; ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

O Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) Say to the captives that are in your hands! "If Allah knows any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you, and He will forgive you, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu qul liman fee aydeekum mina alasra in yaAAlami Allahu fee quloobikum khayran yutikum khayran mimma okhitha minkum wayaghfir lakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

হে নবী ! তোমাদের করায়ত্ত যুদ্ধবন্দীদেরকে বল, যদি তোমাদের হৃদয়ে ভাল কিছু দেখেন তবে তোমাদের নিকট হইতে যাহা নেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহা অপেক্ষা উত্তম কিছু তিনি তোমাদের কে দান করিবেন এবং তোমাদেরকে ক্ষমা করিবেন। যদি তোমাদের হৃদয়ে ভাল কিছু দেখেন তবে তোমাদের নিকট হইতে যাহা নেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহা অপেক্ষা উত্তম কিছু তিনি তোমাদেরকে দান করিবেন। ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।’

But if they intend to betray you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), they indeed betrayed Allah before. So He gave (you) power over them. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.
Transliteration
Wain yureedoo khiyanataka faqad khanoo Allaha min qablu faamkana minhum waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

তাহারা তোমার সঙ্গে বিশ্বাস ভঙ্গ করিতে চাহিলে, তাহারা তো পূর্বে আল্লাহর সঙ্গেও বিশ্বাস ভঙ্গ করিয়াছে; অতঃপর তিনি তোমাদেরকে তাহাদের উপর শক্তিশালী করিয়াছেন। সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

Verily, those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard and fought with their property and their lives in the Cause of Allah as well as those who gave (them) asylum and help, - these are (all) allies to one another. And as to those who believed but did not emigrate (to you O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), you owe no duty of protection to them until they emigrate ; but if they seek your help in religion, it is your duty to help them except against a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance; and Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.

Inna allatheena amanoo wahajaroo wajahadoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi waallatheena awaw wanasaroo olaika baAAduhum awliyao baAAdin waallatheena amanoo walam yuhajiroo ma lakum min walayatihim min shayin hatta yuhajiroo waini istansarookum fee alddeeni faAAalaykumu alnnasru illa AAala qawmin baynakum wabaynahum meethaqun waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun
সমকালীন বাংলা
যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে, হিজরত করিয়াছে, নিজেদের জীবন ও সম্পদ দ্বারা আল্লাহর পথে জিহাদ করিয়াছে ; আর যাহারা আশ্রয় দান করিয়াছে ও সাহায্য করিয়াছে তাহারা পরস্পর পরস্পরের বন্ধু। আর যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে কিন্তু হিজরত করে নাই, হিজরত না করা পর্যন্ত তাহাদের অভিভাবকত্বের দায়িত্ব তোমাদের নাই ; আর দীন সম্বন্ধে যদি তাহারা তোমাদের সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করে তবে তাহাদেরকে সাহায্য করা তোমাদের কর্তব্য, কিন্তু যে সম্প্রদায় ও তোমাদের মধ্যে চুক্তি রহিয়াছে তাহাদের বিরুদ্ধে নয়। তোমরা যাহা কর উহার সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।

And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e. become allies, as one united block under one Khalifah (a chief Muslim ruler for the whole Muslim world) to make victorious Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism], there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism) and oppression on the earth, and a great mischief and corruption (appearance of polytheism).
যাহারা করিয়াছে তাহারা পরস্পর পরস্পরের বন্ধু, যদি তোমরা উহা না কর তবে দেশে ফিত্না ও মহাবিপর্যয় দেখা দিবে।

And those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard in the Cause of Allah (Al-Jihad), as well as those who gave (them) asylum and aid - these are the believers in truth, for them is forgiveness and Rizqun Karim (a generous provision i.e. Paradise).
যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে, হিজরত করিয়াছে ও আল্লাহর পথে জিহাদ করিয়াছে আর যাহারা আশ্রয় দান করিয়াছে ও সাহায্য করিয়াছে, তাহারাই প্রকৃত ; তাহাদের জন্য ক্ষমা ও সম্মানজনক জীবিকা রহিয়াছে।

And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you (in the Cause of Allah), they are of you. But kindred by blood are nearer to one another (regarding inheritance) in the decree ordained by Allah. Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything.
যাহারা পরে ঈমান আনিয়াছে, হিজরত করিয়াছে ও তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকিয়া জিহাদ করিয়াছে। তাহারাও তোমাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত এবং আত্মীয়গণ আল্লাহর বিধানে একে অন্য অপেক্ষা অধিক হকদার। নিশ্চয়ই সর্ববিষয়ে সম্যক অবহিত।
