Chapter 82, 19 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. When the heaven is cleft asunder.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ
যখন আসমান বিদীর্ণ হবে।
And when the stars have fallen and scattered.
وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ
আর যখন নক্ষত্রগুলো ঝরে পড়বে।
And when the seas are burst forth.
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
আর যখন সমুদ্রগুলোকে একাকার করা হবে।
And when the graves are turned upside down (and bring out their contents)
وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
আর যখন কবরগুলো উন্মোচিত হবে।
(Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds).
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
তখন প্রত্যেকে জানতে পারবে, সে যা আগে পাঠিয়েছে এবং যা পিছনে রেখে গেছে।
O man! What has made you careless about your Lord, the Most Generous?
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ
হে মানুষ, কিসে তোমাকে তোমার মহান রব সম্পর্কে ধোঁকা দিয়েছে?
Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion.
الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
যিনি তোমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন অতঃপর তোমাকে সুসম করেছেন, তারপর তোমাকে সুসমঞ্জস করেছেন।
In whatever form He willed, He put you together.
فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ
যে আকৃতিতে তিনি চেয়েছেন তোমাকে গঠন করেছেন।
Nay! But you deny Ad-Din (i.e. the Day of Recompense).
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ
কখনো নয়, তোমরা তো প্রতিদান দিবসকে অস্বীকার করে থাক।
But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you,
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ
আর নিশ্চয় তোমাদের উপর সংরক্ষকগণ রয়েছে।
Kiraman (Honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds),
كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ
সম্মানিত লেখকবৃন্দ।
They know all that you do.
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
তারা জানে, যা তোমরা কর।
Verily, the Abrar (the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism) will be in Delight (Paradise);
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
নিশ্চয় সৎকর্মপরায়ণরা থাকবে সুখ- স্বাচ্ছন্দ্যে।
And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell),
وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ
আর নিশ্চয় অন্যায়কারীরা থাকবে প্রজ্জ্বলিত আগুনে।
Therein they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense,
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
তারা সেখানে প্রবেশ করবে প্রতিদান দিবসে।
And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom.
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ
আর তারা সেখান থেকে অনুপস্থিত থাকতে পারবে না।
And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is?
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
আর কিসে তোমাকে জানাবে প্রতিদান দিবস কী?
Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is?
ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
তারপর বলছি, কিসে তোমাকে জানাবে প্রতিদান দিবস কী?
(It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ
সেদিন কোন মানুষ অন্য মানুষের জন্য কোন কিছুর ক্ষমতা রাখবে না। আর সেদিন সকল বিষয় হবে আল্লাহর কর্তৃত্বে।
