Chapter 44, 59 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Ha.-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
হা-মীম।
হা - মীম।
By the manifest Book (this Qur'an) that makes things clear.
সুস্পষ্ট কিতাবের কসম!
শপথ সুস্পষ্ট কিতাবের।
We sent it (this Qur'an) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Al-Qadr, Surah No. 97) in the month of Ramadan - the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship].
নিশ্চয় আমি এটি নাযিল করেছি বরকতময় রাতে; নিশ্চয় আমি সতর্ককারী।
আমি একে নাযিল করেছি। এক বরকতময় রাতে, নিশ্চয় আমি সতর্ককারী।
Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments.
সে রাতে প্রত্যেক প্রজ্ঞাপূর্ণ বিষয়ে সিদ্ধান্ত অনুমোদিত হয়,
এ রাতে প্রত্যেক প্রজ্ঞাপূর্ণ বিষয় স্থিরীকৃত হয়।
As a Command (or this Qur'an or the Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers),
আমার নির্দেশে। নিশ্চয় আমি রাসূল প্রেরণকারী।
আমার পক্ষ থেকে আদেশক্রমে, আমিই প্রেরণকারী।
(As) a Mercy from your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
তোমার রবের কাছ থেকে রহমত হিসেবে; নিশ্চয় তিনি সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
আপনার পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে রহমতস্বরূপ। তিনি সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty.
যিনি আসমানসমূহ, যমীন ও এ দু‘য়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর রব; যদি তোমরা দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস পোষণকারী হও।
যদি তোমাদের বিশ্বাস থাকে দেখতে পাবে। তিনি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যেবর্তী সবকিছুর পালনকর্তা।
La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is He Who gives life and causes death - your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.
তিনি ছাড়া কোন (সত্য) নেই; তিনিই জীবন দান করেন এবং তিনিই মৃত্যু দেন। তিনি তোমাদের রব এবং তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের রব।
তিনি ব্যতীত কোন উপাস্য নেই। তিনি জীবন দান করেন ও মৃত্যু দেন। তিনি তোমাদের পালনকর্তা এবং তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তী পিতৃ - পুরুষদেরও পালনকর্তা।
Nay! They play about in doubt.
তারা বরং সন্দেহের বশবর্তী হয়ে খেলতামাশা করছে।
এতদসত্ত্বেও এরা সন্দেহে পতিত হয়ে ক্রীড়া - কৌতুক করছে।
Then wait you for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke,
অতএব অপেক্ষা কর সেদিনের যেদিন স্পষ্ট ধোঁয়ায় আচ্ছন্ন হবে আকাশ।
অতএব আপনি সেই দিনের অপেক্ষা করুন, যখন আকাশ ধূয়ায় ছেয়ে যাবে।
Covering the people: this is a painful torment.
যা মানুষদেরকে আচ্ছন্ন করে ফেলবে: এটি যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব।
যা মানুষকে ঘিরে ফেলবে। এটা যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।
(They will say): "Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!"
(তখন তারা বলবে) ‘হে আমাদের রব, আমাদের থেকে আযাব দূর করুন; নিশ্চয় আমরা হব।’
হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা আমাদের উপর থেকে শাস্তি প্রত্যাহার করুন, আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করছি।
How can there be for them an admonition (at the time when the torment has reached them), when a Messenger explaining things clearly has already come to them.
এখন কীভাবে তারা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করবে, অথচ ইতঃপূর্বে তাদের কাছে সুস্পষ্টভাবে বর্ণনাকারী রাসূল এসেছিল?
তারা কি করে বুঝবে, অথচ তাদের কাছে এসেছিলেন স্পষ্ট বর্ণনাকারী রসূল।
Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) and said: (He is) one taught (by a human being), a madman!"
তারপর তারা তাঁর দিক থেকে বিমুখ হয়েছিল এবং বলেছিল ‘এ শিক্ষাপ্রাপ্ত পাগল’।
অতঃপর তারা তাকে পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শন করে এবং বলে, সে তো উম্মাদ - শিখানো কথা বলে।
Verily, We shall remove the torment for a while. Verily you will revert (to disbelief).
নিশ্চয় আমি ক্ষণকালের জন্য আযাব দূর করব; নিশ্চয় তোমরা পূর্বাবস্থায় ফিরে যাবে।
আমি তোমাদের উপর থেকে আযাব কিছুটা প্রত্যাহার করব, কিন্তু তোমরা পুনরায় পুনর্বস্থায় ফিরে যাবে।
On the Day when We shall seize you with the greatest seizure (punishment). Verily, We will exact retribution.
সেদিন আমি প্রবলভাবে পাকড়াও করব; নিশ্চয় আমি হব প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণকারী।
যেদিন আমি প্রবলভাবে ধৃত করব, সেদিন পুরোপুরি প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করবই।
And indeed We tried before them Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, when there came to them a noble Messenger [i.e. Musa (Moses) عليه السلام],
আর অবশ্যই এদের পূর্বে আমি ফির‘আউনের কওমকে পরীক্ষা করেছিলাম এবং তাদের কাছে এসেছিল এক সম্মানিত রাসূল,
তাদের পূর্বে আমি ফেরাউনের সম্প্রদায়কে পরীক্ষা করেছি এবং তাদের কাছে আগমন করেছেন একজন সম্মানিত রসূল,
Saying: "Deliver to me the slaves of Allah (i.e. the Children of Israel). Verily, I am to you a Messenger worthy of all trust.
(সে বলেছিল) ‘আল্লাহর বান্দাদেরকে আমার কাছে ফিরিয়ে দাও; নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের জন্য এক বিশ্বস্ত রাসূল।’
এই মর্মে যে, আল্লাহর বান্দাদেরকে আমার কাছে অর্পণ কর। আমি তোমাদের জন্য প্রেরীত বিশ্বস্ত রসূল।
"And exalt not yourselves against Allah. Truly, I have come to you with a manifest authority.
‘আর আল্লাহর বিরুদ্ধে ঔদ্ধত্য প্রকাশ করো না। নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের কাছে সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ নিয়ে আসব।’
আর তোমরা আল্লাহর বিরুদ্ধে ঔদ্ধত্য প্রকাশ করো না। আমি তোমাদের কাছে প্রকাশ্য প্রমাণ উপস্থিত করছি।
"And truly, I seek refuge with my Lord and your Lord, lest you should stone me (or call me a sorcerer or kill me).
আর তোমাদের প্রস্তরাঘাত থেকে আমি আমার রব ও তোমাদের রবের কাছে আশ্রয় চাচ্ছি।
তোমরা যাতে আমাকে প্রস্তরবর্ষণে হত্যা না কর, তজ্জন্যে আমি আমার পালনকর্তা ও তোমাদের পালনকর্তার শরনাপন্ন হয়েছি।
"But if you believe me not, then keep away from me and leave me alone."
‘আর তোমরা যদি আমার উপর বিশ্বাস না রাখ, তবে আমাকে ছেড়ে যাও।’
তোমরা যদি আমার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন না কর, তবে আমার কাছ থেকে দূরে থাক।
(But they were aggressive), so he [Musa (Moses)] called upon his Lord (saying): "These are indeed the people who are Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals)."
অতঃপর সে তার রবকে ডেকে বলল, ‘নিশ্চয় এরা এক অপরাধী সম্প্রদায়।’
অতঃপর সে তার পালনকর্তার কাছে দোয়া করল যে, এরা অপরাধী সম্প্রদায়।
(Allah said): "Depart you with My slaves by night. Surely, you will be pursued.
( বললেন) ‘তাহলে আমার বান্দাদের নিয়ে রাতে বেরিয়ে পড়; নিশ্চয় তোমাদের পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করা হবে’।
তাহলে তুমি আমার বান্দাদেরকে নিয়ে রাত্রিবেলায় বের হয়ে পড়। নিশ্চয় তোমাদের পশ্চাদ্ধবন করা হবে।
"And leave the sea as it is (quiet and divided). Verily, they are a host to be drowned."
আর সমুদ্রকে রেখে দাও শান্ত, নিশ্চয় তারা হবে এক ডুবন্ত বাহিনী’।
এবং সমুদ্রকে অচল থাকতে দাও। নিশ্চয় ওরা নিমজ্জত বাহিনী।
How many of gardens and springs that they [Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people] left behind,
তারা অনেক বাগান ও ঝর্না রেখেছিল।
তারা ছেড়ে গিয়েছিল কত উদ্যান ও প্রস্রবন,
And green crops (fields) and goodly places,
শ্যামল শস্যক্ষেত ও সুরম্য বাসস্থান,
কত শস্যক্ষেত্র ও সূরম্য স্থান।
And comforts of life wherein they used to take delight!
আর নানা বিলাস-সামগ্রী, যাতে তারা আনন্দ উপভোগ করত।
কত সুখের উপকরণ, যাতে তারা খোশগল্প করত।
Thus (it was)! And We made other people inherit them (i.e. We made the Children of Israel to inherit the kingdom of Egypt).
এমনটিই হয়েছিল এবং আমি এগুলোর উত্তরাধিকারী করেছিলাম অন্য কওমকে।
এমনিই হয়েছিল এবং আমি ওগুলোর মালিক করেছিলাম ভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়কে।
And the heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given a respite.
অতঃপর আসমান ও যমীন তাদের জন্য কাঁদেনি এবং তারা অবকাশপ্রাপ্ত ছিল না।
তাদের জন্যে ক্রন্দন করেনি আকাশ ও পৃথিবী এবং তারা অবকাশও পায়নি।
And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment:
আর অবশ্যই আমি বনী ইসরাঈলকে লাঞ্ছনাদায়ক আযাব থেকে উদ্ধার করেছিলাম,
আমি বনী - ইসরাঈলকে অপমানজনক শাস্তি থেকে উদ্ধার করছি।
From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); verily he was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins).
ফির‘আউন থেকে, নিশ্চয় সে ছিল সীমালঙ্ঘনকারীদের শীর্ষস্থানীয়।
ফেরাউন সে ছিল সীমালংঘনকারীদের মধ্যে শীর্ষস্থানীয়।
And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge,
আর আমি জ্ঞাতসারেই তাদেরকে সকল সৃষ্টির উপর নির্বাচিত করেছিলাম।
আমি জেনেশুনে তাদেরকে বিশ্ববাসীদের উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দিয়েছিলাম।
And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial.
আর আমি তাদেরকে এমন নিদর্শনাবলী দিয়েছিলাম যাতে ছিল সুস্পষ্ট পরীক্ষা।
এবং আমি তাদেরকে এমন নিদর্শনাবলী দিয়েছিলাম যাতে ছিল স্পষ্ট সাহায্য।
Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying:
নিশ্চয় তারা বলেই থাকে,
কাফেররা বলেই থাকে,
"There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected.
‘আমাদের প্রথম মৃত্যু ছাড়া আর কিছুই নেই এবং আমরা পুনরুত্থিত হবার নই’।
প্রথম মৃত্যুর মাধ্যমেই আমাদের সবকিছুর অবসান হবে এবং আমরা পুনরুত্থিত হব না।
"Then bring back our forefathers, if you speak the truth!"
‘যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও, তবে আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে নিয়ে এসো’।
তোমরা যদি সত্যবাদী হও, তবে আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে নিয়ে এস।
Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals).
তারা কি শ্রেষ্ঠ না তুব্বা সম্প্রদায় এবং তাদের পূর্বে যারা ছিল তারা? আমি তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করেছিলাম। নিশ্চয় তারা ছিল অপরাধী।
ওরা শ্রেষ্ঠ, না তুব্বার সম্প্রদায় ও তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা? আমি ওদেরকে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি। ওরা ছিল অপরাধী।
And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play.
আর আমি আসমানসমূহ, যমীন এবং এতদোভয়ের মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে তা খেলাচ্ছলে সৃষ্টি করিনি।
আমি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছু ক্রীড়াচ্ছলে সৃষ্টি করিনি।
We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not.
আমি এ দু’টোকে যথাযথভাবেই সৃষ্টি করেছি, কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই তা জানে না।
আমি এগুলো যথাযথ উদ্দেশ্যে সৃষ্টি করেছি; কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বোঝে না।
Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them -
নিশ্চয় ফয়সালার দিনটি তাদের সকলের জন্যই নির্ধারিত সময়।
নিশ্চয় ফয়সালার দিন তাদের সবারই নির্ধারিত সময়।
The Day when a Maula (a near relative) cannot avail a Maula (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive,
সেদিন এক বন্ধু অপর বন্ধুর কোন কাজে আসবে না এবং তারা সাহায্যপ্রাপ্তও হবে না।
যেদিন কোন বন্ধুই কোন বন্ধুর উপকারে আসবে না এবং তারা সাহায্যপ্রাপ্তও হবে না।
Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.
সে ছাড়া, যার প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করেন। নিশ্চয় তিনিই মহাপরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।
তবে যার প্রতি দয়া করেন, তার কথা ভিন্ন। নিশ্চয় তিনি পরাক্রমশালী দয়াময়।
Verily, the tree of Zaqqum
নিশ্চয় যাক্কূম বৃক্ষ
নিশ্চয় যাক্কুম বৃক্ষ
Will be the food of the sinners.
পাপীর খাদ্য;
পাপীর খাদ্য হবে;
Like boiling oil, it will boil in the bellies,
গলিত তামার মত, উদরসমূহে ফুটতে থাকবে।
গলিত তাম্রের মত পেটে ফুটতে থাকবে।
Like the boiling of scalding water.
ফুটন্ত পানির মত
যেমন ফুটে পানি।
(It will be said) "Seize him and drag him into the midst of blazing Fire,
(বলা হবে) ‘ওকে ধর, অতঃপর তাকে জাহান্নামের মধ্যস্থলে টেনে নিয়ে যাও’।
একে ধর এবং টেনে নিয়ে যাও জাহান্নামের মধ্যস্থলে,
"Then pour over his head the torment of boiling water.
তারপর তার মাথার উপর ফুটন্ত পানির আযাব ঢেলে দাও।
অতঃপর তার মাথার উপর ফুটন্ত পানির আযাব ঢেলে দাও,
"Taste you (this)! Verily, you were (pretending to be) the mighty, the generous!
(বলা হবে) ‘তুমি আস্বাদন কর, নিশ্চয় তুমিই সম্মানিত, অভিজাত’।
স্বাদ গ্রহণ কর, তুমি তো সম্মানিত, সম্ভ্রান্ত।
"Verily, this is that whereof you used to doubt!"
নিশ্চয় এটা তা-ই যে বিষয়ে তোমরা সন্দেহ করতে।
এ সম্পর্কে তোমরা সন্দেহে পতিত ছিলে।
Verily, the Muttaqun (the pious. See V.2:2), will be in place of Security (Paradise).
নিশ্চয় মুত্তাকীরা থাকবে নিরাপদ স্থানে,
নিশ্চয় খোদাভীরুরা নিরাপদ স্থানে থাকবে -
Among Gardens and Springs,
বাগ-বাগিচা ও ঝর্নাধারার মধ্যে,
উদ্যানরাজি ও নির্ঝরিণীসমূহে।
Dressed in fine silk and (also) in thick silk, facing each other,
তারা পরিধান করবে পাতলা ও পুরু রেশমী বস্ত্র এবং বসবে মুখোমুখী হয়ে।
তারা পরিধান করবে চিকন ও পুরু রেশমীবস্ত্র, মুখোমুখি হয়ে বসবে।
So (it will be). And We shall marry them to Hur (fair female) with wide, lovely eyes.
এরূপই ঘটবে, আর আমি তাদেরকে বিয়ে দেব ডাগর নয়না হূরদের সাথে।
এরূপই হবে এবং আমি তাদেরকে আনতলোচনা স্ত্রী দেব।
They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security;
সেখানে তারা প্রশান্তচিত্তে সকল প্রকারের ফলমূল আনতে বলবে।
তারা সেখানে শান্ত মনে বিভিন্ন ফল - মূল আনতে বলবে।
They will never taste death therein except the first death (of this world), and He will save them from the torment of the blazing Fire,
প্রথম মৃত্যুর পর সেখানে তারা আর মৃত্যু আস্বাদন করবে না। আর তিনি তাদেরকে জাহান্নামের আযাব থেকে রক্ষা করবেন।
তারা সেখানে মৃত্যু আস্বাদন করবে না, প্রথম মৃত্যু ব্যতীত এবং আপনার পালনকর্তা তাদেরকে জাহান্নামের আযাব থেকে রক্ষা করবেন।
As a Bounty from your Lord! That will be the supreme success!
তোমার রবের অনুগ্রহস্বরূপ, এটাই তো মহা সাফল্য।
আপনার পালনকর্তার কৃপায় এটাই মহা সাফল্য।
Certainly, We have made this (Qur'an) easy in your tongue, in order that they may remember.
অতঃপর আমি তো তোমার ভাষায় কুরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি, যাতে তারা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে।
আমি আপনার ভাষায় কোরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি, যাতে তারা স্মরণ রাখে।
Wait then (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم); verily, they (too) are waiting.
অতএব তুমি অপেক্ষা কর, তারাও অপেক্ষাকারী।
অতএব, আপনি অপেক্ষা করুন, তারাও অপেক্ষা করছে।
