Transliteration
Hilali & Muhsin Khan
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the (only) Originator [or the (Only) Creator] of the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels messengers with wings, two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Verily, Allah is Able to do all things.

সকল প্রশংসা আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টিকর্তা রই - যিনি বাণীবাহক করেন ফিরিশ্তাদেরকে যাহারা দুই দুই, তিন তিন অথবা চার চার পক্ষবিশিষ্ট। তিনি সৃষ্টিতে যাহা ইচ্ছা বৃদ্ধি করেন। র্সববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
Whatever of mercy (i.e. of good), Allah may grant to mankind, none can withhold it; and whatever He may withhold, none can grant it thereafter. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

মানুষের প্রতি কোন অনুগ্রহ অবারিত করিলে কেহ উহা নিবারণকারী নাই এবং তিনি কিছু নিরুদ্ধ করিতে চাহিলে তৎপর কেহ উহার উন্মুক্তকারী নাই। তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Transliteration
Ma yaftahi Allahu lilnnasi min rahmatin fala mumsika laha wama yumsik fala mursila lahu min baAAdihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

O mankind! Remember the Grace of Allah upon you! Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the sky (rain) and the earth? La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turning away (from Him)?

হে মানুষ! তোমাদের প্রতি র অনুগ্রহ স্মরণ কর। ব্যতীত কি কোন স্রষ্টা আছে, যে তোমাদেরকে আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবী হইতে রিযিক দান করে? তিনি ব্যতীত কোন ইলাহ্ নাই। সুতরাং কোথায় তোমরা বিপথে চালিত হইতেছ?
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha alnnasu othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum hal min khaliqin ghayru Allahi yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi la ilaha illa huwa faanna tufakoona

And if they belie you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), so were Messengers belied before you. And to Allah return all matters (for decision).

ইহারা যদি তোমার প্রতি মিথ্যা আরোপ করে তবে তোমার পূর্বেও রাসূলগণের প্রতি মিথ্যা আরোপ করা হয়েছিল। র নিকটই সকল বিষয় প্রত্যানীত হইবে।
O mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true. So let not this present life deceive you, and let not the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah.

হে মানুষ ! নিশ্চয়ই র প্রতিশ্রুতি সত্য; সুতরাং পার্থিব জীবন যেন তোমাদেরকে কিছুতেই প্রতারিত না করে এবং সেই প্রবঞ্চক যেন কিছুতেই সম্পর্কে তোমাদেরকে প্রবঞ্চিত না করে।
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha alnnasu inna waAAda Allahi haqqun fala taghurrannakumu alhayatu alddunya wala yaghurrannakum biAllahi algharooru

Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.

শয়তান তো তোমাদের শত্রু ; সুতরাং তাহাকে শত্রু হিসাবে গ্রহণ কর। সে তো তাহার দলবলকে আহ্বান করে কেবল এইজন্য যে, উহারা যেন জাহান্নামী হয়।
Those who disbelieve, theirs will be a severe torment; and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise).

যাহারা করে তাহাদের জন্য আছে কঠিন শাস্তি এবং যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে তাহাদের জন্য আছে ক্ষমা ও মহাপুরস্কার।
Is he, then, to whom the evil of his deeds is made fair-seeming, so that he considers it as good (equal to one who is rightly guided)? Verily, Allah sends astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So destroy not yourself (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) in sorrow for them. Truly, Allah is the All-Knower of what they do!

কাহাকেও যদি তাহার মন্দকর্ম শোভন করিয়া দেখান হয় এবং সে ইহাকে উত্তম মনে করে, সেই ব্যক্তি কি তাহার সমান যে সৎকর্ম করে? যাহাকে ইচ্ছা বিভ্রান্ত করেন এবং যাহাকে ইচ্ছা সৎপথে পরিচালিত করেন। অতএব ইহাদের জন্য আক্ষেপ করিয়া তোমার প্রাণ যেন ধ্বংস না হয়। উহারা যাহা করে নিশ্চয়ই তাহা জানেন।
Transliteration
Afaman zuyyina lahu sooo AAamalihi faraahu hasanan fainna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee man yashao fala tathhab nafsuka AAalayhim hasaratin inna Allaha AAaleemun bima yasnaAAoona

And it is Allah Who sends the winds, so that they raise up the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land, and revive therewith the earth after its death. As such (will be) the Resurrection!

ই বায়ু প্রেরণ করিয়া উহা দ্বারা মেঘমালা সঞ্চারিত করেন। অতঃপর আমি উহা নির্জীব ভূখণ্ডের দিকে পরিচালিত করি, অতঃপর আমি উহা দ্বারা ধরিত্রীকে উহার মৃত্যুর পর সঞ্জীবিত করি। এইরূপেই মৃত্যুর পর পুনরায় জীবিত করিয়া উঠানো হইবে।
Whosoever desires honour, (power and glory), then to Allah belong all honour, power and glory [and one can get honour, power and glory only by obeying and worshipping Allah (Alone)]. To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it (i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allah unless and until they are followed by good deeds), but those who plot evils, theirs will be severe torment. And the plotting of such will perish.

কেহ সম্মান ও ক্ষমতা চাহিলে সে জানিয়া রাখুক, সকল সম্মান ও ক্ষমতা তো রই। তাঁহারই দিকে পবিত্র বাণীসমূহ সমুত্থিত হয় এবং সৎকর্ম উহাকে উন্নীত করে, আর যাহারা মন্দ কাজের ফন্দি আঁটে তাহাদের জন্য আছে কঠিন শাস্তি। তাহাদের ফন্দি ব্যর্থ হইবেই।
Transliteration
Man kana yureedu alAAizzata falillahi alAAizzatu jameeAAan ilayhi yasAAadu alkalimu alttayyibu waalAAamalu alssalihu yarfaAAuhu waallatheena yamkuroona alssayyiati lahum AAathabun shadeedun wamakru olaika huwa yabooru

And Allah did create you (Adam) from dust, then from Nutfah (male and female discharge semen drops i.e. Adam's offspring), then He made you pairs (male and female). And no female conceives or gives birth but with His Knowledge. And no aged man is granted a length of life nor is a part cut off from his life (or another man's life), but is in a Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz ) Surely, that is easy for Allah.

তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন মৃত্তিকা হইতে; অতঃপর শুক্রবিন্দু হইতে, অতঃপর তোমাদেরকে করিয়াছেন যুগল ! র অজ্ঞাতসারে কোন নারী গর্ভধারণ করে না এবং প্রসবও করে না। কোন দীর্ঘায়ু ব্যক্তির আয়ু বৃদ্ধি করা হয় না এবং তাহার আয়ু হ্রাস করা হয় না, কিন্তু তাহা তো রহিয়াছে ‘কিতাবে’। ইহা র জন্য সহজ।
Transliteration
WaAllahu khalaqakum min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma jaAAalakum azwajan wama tahmilu min ontha wala tadaAAu illa biAAilmihi wama yuAAammaru min muAAammarin wala yunqasu min AAumurihi illa fee kitabin inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

And the two seas (kinds of water) are not alike: this is palatable, sweet and pleasant to drink, and that is salt and bitter. And from them both you eat fresh tender meat (fish), and derive the ornaments that you wear. And you see the ships cleaving (the sea-water as they sail through it), that you may seek of His Bounty, and that you may give thanks.

দরিয়া দুইটি একরূপ নয় : একটির পানি সুমিষ্ট ও সুপেয়, অপরটির পানি লোনা, খর। প্রত্যেকটি হইতে তোমরা তাজা গোশ্ত আহার কর এবং আহরণ কর অলংকার যাহা তোমরা পরিধান কর, এবং তোমরা দেখ উহার বুক চিরিয়া নৌযান চলাচল করে যাহাতে তোমরা তাঁহার অনুগ্রহ অনুসন্ধান করিতে পার এবং যাহাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর।
He merges the night into the day (i.e. the decrease in the hours of the night is added to the hours of the day), and He merges the day into the night (i.e. the decrease in the hours of the day is added to the hours of the night). And He has subjected the sun and the moon: each runs its course for a term appointed. Such is Allah, your Lord; His is the kingdom. And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmir (the thin membrane over the date-stone).

তিনি রাত্রিকে দিবসে প্রবিষ্ট করান এবং দিবসকে প্রবিষ্ট করান রাত্রিতে, তিনি সূর্য ও চন্দ্রকে করিয়াছেন নিয়মাধীন ; প্রত্যেকে পরিভ্রমণ করে এক নির্দিষ্ট কাল পর্যন্ত। তিনিই , তোমাদের প্রতিপালক। আধিপত্য তাঁহারই। এবং তোমরা র পরিবর্তে যাহাদেরকে ডাক তাহারা তো খর্জুর আঁটির আবরণেরও অধিকারী নয়।
Transliteration
Yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree liajalin musamman thalikumu Allahu rabbukum lahu almulku waallatheena tadAAoona min doonihi ma yamlikoona min qitmeerin

If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call; and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of everything).

তোমরা তাহাদেরকে আহ্বান করিলে তাহারা তোমাদের আহ্বান শুনিবে না এবং শুনিলেও তোমাদের আহবানে সাড়া দিবে না। তোমরা তাহাদেরকে যে শরীক করিয়াছ তাহা উহারা কিয়ামতের দিন অস্বীকার করিবে। সর্বজ্ঞের ন্যায় কেহই তোমাকে অবহিত করিতে পারে না।
Transliteration
In tadAAoohum la yasmaAAoo duAAaakum walaw samiAAoo ma istajaboo lakum wayawma alqiyamati yakfuroona bishirkikum wala yunabbioka mithlu khabeerin

O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allah. But Allah is Rich (Free of all needs), Worthy of all praise.

হে মানুষ ! তােমরা তো র মুখাপেক্ষী ; কিন্তু , তিনি অভাবমুক্ত, প্রশংসার্হ।
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha alnnasu antumu alfuqarao ila Allahi waAllahu huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu

If He willed, He could destroy you and bring about a new creation.

তিনি ইচ্ছা করিলে তোমাদেরকে অপসৃত করিতে পারেন এবং এক নূতন সৃষ্টি আনয়ন করিতে পারেন।
Transliteration
In yasha yuthhibkum wayati bikhalqin jadeedin

And that is not hard for Allah.

ইহা র পক্ষে কঠিন নয়।
Transliteration
Wamathalika AAala Allahi biAAazeezin

And no bearer of burdens shall bear another's burden; and if one heavily laden calls another to (bear) his load, nothing of it will be lifted even though he be near of kin. You (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) can warn only those who fear their Lord unseen and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). And he who purifies himself (from all kinds of sins), then he purifies only for the benefit of his ownself. And to Allah is the (final) Return (of all).

কোন বহনকারী অন্যের বোঝা বহন করিবে না; কোন ভারাক্রান্ত ব্যক্তি যদি কাহাকেও ইহা বহন করিতে আহবান করে তবে উহার কিছুই বহন করা হইবে না - সে নিকট - আত্মীয় হইলেও। তুমি কেবল তাহাদেরকেই সতর্ক করিতে পার যাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালককে না দেখিয়া ভয় করে এবং কায়েম করে। যে কেহ নিজকে পরিশোধন করে সে তো পরিশোধন করে নিজেরই কল্যাণের জন্য। রই দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন।
Not alike are the blind (disbelievers in Islamic Monotheism) and the seeing (believers in Islamic Monotheism).

Wama yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru

Nor are (alike) darkness (disbelief) and light (Belief in Islamic Monotheism).

আর না অন্ধকার ও আলো,
Transliteration
Wala alththulumatu wala alnnooru

Nor are (alike) the shade and the sun's heat.

আর না ছায়া ও রৌদ্র,
Transliteration
Wala alththillu wala alharooru

Nor are (alike) the living (i.e. the believers) and the dead (i.e. the disbelievers). Verily, Allah makes whom He wills to hear, but you cannot make hear those who are in graves.

এবং সমান নয় জীবিত ও মৃত। ই যাহাকে ইচ্ছা শ্রবণ করান; তুমি শোনাইতে সমর্থ হইবে না যাহারা কবরে রহিয়াছে তাহাদেরকে।
Transliteration
Wama yastawee alahyao wala alamwatu inna Allaha yusmiAAu man yashao wama anta bimusmiAAin man fee alquboori

You (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) are only a warner (i.e. your duty is to convey Allah's Message to mankind but the guidance is Allah's).

Transliteration
In anta illa natheerun

Verily We have sent you with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. And there never was a nation but a warner had passed among them.

আমি তো তোমাকে সত্যসহ প্রেরণ করিয়াছি সুসংবাদদাতা ও সতর্ককারীরূপে; এমন কোন সম্প্রদায় নাই যাহার নিকট সতর্ককারী প্রেরিত হয় নাই।
Transliteration
Inna arsalnaka bialhaqqi basheeran wanatheeran wain min ommatin illa khala feeha natheerun

And if they belie you, those before them also belied. Their Messengers came to them with clear signs, and with the Scriptures, and the book giving light.

ইহারা যদি তোমার প্রতি মিথ্যা আরোপ করে তবে ইহাদের পূর্ববর্তীগণও তো মিথ্যা আরোপ করিয়াছিল - তাহাদের নিকট আসিয়াছিল তাহাদের রাসূলগণ সুস্পষ্ট নিদর্শন, গ্রন্থাদি ও দীপ্তিমান কিতাবসহ।
Then I took hold of those who disbelieved: and how terrible was My denial (punishment)!

অতঃপর আমি কাফিরদেরকে শাস্তি দিয়াছিলাম। কী ভয়ংকর আমার শাস্তি!
Transliteration
Thumma akhathtu allatheena kafaroo fakayfa kana nakeeri

See you not that Allah sends down water (rain) from the sky, and We produce therewith fruits of various colours, and among the mountains are streaks white and red, of varying colours and (others) very black.

তুমি কি দেখ না, আকাশ হইতে বৃষ্টিপাত করেন; এবং আমি ইহা দ্বারা বিচিত্র বর্ণের ফলমূল উদ্গত করি। আর পাহাড়ের মধ্যে আছে বিচিত্র বর্ণের পথ - শুভ্র, লাল ও নিকষ কাল।
Transliteration
Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi thamaratin mukhtalifan alwanuha wamina aljibali judadun beedun wahumrun mukhtalifun alwanuha wagharabeebu soodun

And likewise of men and Ad-Dawabb [moving (living) creatures, beasts], and cattle, are of various colours. It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Mighty, Oft-Forgiving.

এইভাবে রং - বেরং - এর মানুষ, জন্তু ও আন‘আম রহিয়াছে। র বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাহারা জ্ঞানী তাহারাই তাঁহাকে ভয় করে ; পরাক্রমশালী, ক্ষমাশীল।
Transliteration
Wamina alnnasi waalddawabbi waalanAAami mukhtalifun alwanuhu kathalika innama yakhsha Allaha min AAibadihi alAAulamao inna Allaha AAazeezun ghafoorun

Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah (this Qur'an), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, they hope for a (sure) trade-gain that will never perish.

যাহারা র কিতাব তিলাওয়াত করে, কায়েম করে, আমি তাহাদেরকে যে রিযিক দিয়াছি তাহা হইতে গোপনে ও প্রকাশ্যে ব্যয় করে, তাহারাই আশা করে এমন ব্যবসায়ের, যাহার ক্ষয় নাই।
That He may pay them their wages in full, and give them (even) more, out of His Grace. Verily He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (good deeds and to recompense).

এইজন্য যে, তাহাদের কর্মের পূর্ণ প্রতিফল দিবেন এবং তিনি নিজ অনুগ্রহে তাহাদেরকে আরও বেশি দিবেন। তিনি তো ক্ষমাশীল, গুণগ্রাহী।
Transliteration
Liyuwaffiyahum ojoorahum wayazeedahum min fadlihi innahu ghafoorun shakoorun

And what We have revealed to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), of the Book (the Qur'an), it is the (very) truth [that you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and your followers must act on its instructions], confirming that which was (revealed) before it. Verily! Allah is indeed All-Aware, and All-Seer of His slaves.

আমি তোমার প্রতি যে কিতাব অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছি তাহা সত্য, ইহা পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবের প্রত্যায়নকারী। নিশ্চয়ই তাঁহার বান্দাদের সমস্ত কিছু জানেন ও দেখেন।
Transliteration
Waallathee awhayna ilayka mina alkitabi huwa alhaqqu musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi inna Allaha biAAibadihi lakhabeerun baseerun

Then We gave the Book (the Qur'an) as inheritance to such of Our slaves whom We chose (the followers of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). Then of them are some who wrong their ownselves, and of them are some who follow a middle course, and of them are some who are, by Allah's Leave, foremost in good deeds. That (inheritance of the Qur'an) - that is indeed a great grace.

অতঃপর আমি কিতাবের অধিকারী করিলাম আমার বান্দাদের মধ্য হইতে যাহাদেরকে আমি মনোনীত করিয়াছি; তবে তাহাদের কেহ নিজের প্রতি অত্যাচারী, কেহ মধ্যপন্থী এবং কেহ র ইচ্ছায় কল্যাণকর কাজে অগ্রগামী। ইহাই মহাঅনুগ্রহ -
'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens) will they enter, therein will they be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be of silk.

স্থায়ী জান্নাত, যাহাতে তাহারা প্রবেশ করিবে, সেখানে তাহাদেরকে স্বর্ণ - নির্মিত কংকন ও মুক্তা দ্বারা অলংকৃত করা হইবে এবং সেখানে তাহাদের পোশাক - পরিচ্ছদ হইবে রেশমের।
Transliteration
Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha yuhallawna feeha min asawira min thahabin waluluan walibasuhum feehahareerun

And they will say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah Who has removed from us (all) grief. Verily, our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (good deeds and to recompense).

এবং তাহারা বলিবে, ‘সকল প্রশংসা র, যিনি আমাদের দুঃখ - দুর্দশা দূরীভূত করিয়াছেন; আমাদের প্রতিপালক তো ক্ষমাশীল, গুণগ্রাহী;
Who, out of His Grace, has lodged us in a home that will last forever, where toil will touch us not nor weariness will touch us."

‘যিনি নিজ অনুগ্রহে আমাদেরকে স্থায়ী আবাস দিয়াছেন যেখানে ক্লেশ আমাদেরকে স্পর্শ করে না এবং ক্লান্তিও স্পর্শ করে না।’
Transliteration
Allathee ahallana dara almuqamati min fadlihi la yamassuna feeha nasabun wala yamassuna feeha lughoobun

But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), for them will be the Fire of Hell. Neither will it have a complete killing effect on them so that they die, nor shall its torment be lightened for them. Thus do We requite every !

কিন্তু যাহারা করে তাহাদের জন্য আছে জাহান্নামের আগুন। উহাদের মৃত্যুর আদেশ দেওয়া হইবে না যে, উহারা মরিবে এবং উহাদের হইতে জাহান্নামের শাস্তিও লাঘব করা হইবে না। এইভাবে আমি প্রত্যেক অকৃতজ্ঞকে শাস্তি দিয়া থাকি।
Transliteration
Waallatheena kafaroo lahum naru jahannama la yuqda AAalayhim fayamootoo wala yukhaffafu AAanhum min AAathabiha kathalika najzee kulla kafoorin

Therein they will cry: "Our Lord! Bring us out, we shall do righteous good deeds, not (the evil deeds) that we used to do." (Allah will reply): "Did We not give you lives long enough, so that whosoever would receive admonition could receive it? And the warner came to you. So taste you (the evil of your deeds). For the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) there is no helper."

সেখানে তাহারা আর্তনাদ করিয়া বলিবে, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমাদেরকে নিষ্কৃতি দাও, আমরা সৎকর্ম করিব, পূর্বে যাহা করিতাম তাহা করিব না।’ বলিবেন, ‘আমি কি তোমাদেরকে এতো দীর্ঘ জীবন দান করি নাই যে, তখন কেহ সতর্ক হইতে চাহিলে সতর্ক হইতে পারিতে? তোমাদের নিকট তো সতর্ককারীও আসিয়াছিল। সুতরাং শাস্তি আস্বাদন কর; জালিমদের কোন সাহায্যকারী নাই।’
Transliteration
Wahum yastarikhoona feeha rabbana akhrijna naAAmal salihan ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu awalam nuAAammirkum ma yatathakkaru feehi man tathakkara wajaakumu alnnatheeru fathooqoo fama lilththalimeena min naseerin

Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. Verily! He is the All-Knower of that is in the breasts.

Inna Allaha AAalimu ghaybi alssamawati waalardi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

He it is Who has made you successors generations after generations in the earth, so whosoever disbelieves (in Islamic Monotheism) on him will be his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing but hatred of their Lord. And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing but loss.

তিনিই তোমাদেরকে পৃথিবীতে প্রতিনিধি করিয়াছেন। সুতরাং কেহ করিলে তাহার কুফরীর জন্য সে নিজেই দায়ী হইবে। কাফিরদের কেবল উহাদের প্রতিপালকের ক্রোধই বৃদ্ধি করে এবং কাফিরদের উহাদের ক্ষতিই বৃদ্ধি করে।
Transliteration
Huwa allathee jaAAalakum khalaifa fee alardi faman kafara faAAalayhi kufruhu wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum AAinda rabbihim illa maqtan wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum illa khasaran

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Tell me or inform me (what) do you think about your (so-called) partner-gods to whom you call upon besides Allah? Show me, what they have created of the earth. Or have they any share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book, so that they act on clear proof therefrom? Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) promise one another nothing but delusions."

বল, ‘তোমরা র পরিবর্তে যাহাদেরকে ডাক সেই সকল শরীকের কথা ভাবিয়া দেখিয়াছ কি? তাহারা পৃথিবীতে কিছু সৃষ্টি করিয়া থাকিলে আমাকে দেখাও; অথবা আকাশমণ্ডলীর সৃষ্টিতে উহাদের কোন অংশ আছে কি? না কি আমি উহাদেরকে এমন কোন কিতাব দিয়াছি যাহার প্রমাণের উপর ইহারা নির্ভর করে?’ বস্তুত জালিমরা একে অপরকে মিথ্যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়া থাকে। -

Qul araaytum shurakaakumu allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina alardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati am ataynahum kitaban fahum AAala bayyinatin minhu bal in yaAAidu alththalimoona baAAduhum baAAdan illa ghurooran

Verily! Allah grasps the heavens and the earth lest they should move away from their places, and if they were to move away from their places, there is not one that could grasp them after Him. Truly, He is Ever Most Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving.

Inna Allaha yumsiku alssamawati waalarda an tazoola walain zalata in amsakahuma min ahadin min baAAdihi innahu kana haleeman ghafooran

And they swore by Allah their most binding oath that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than any of the nations (before them); yet when a warner (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) came to them, it increased in them nothing but flight (from the truth)

Transliteration
Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim lain jaahum natheerun layakoonunna ahda min ihda alomami falamma jaahum natheerun ma zadahum illa nufooran

(They took to flight because of their) arrogance in the land and their plotting of evil. But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it. Then, can they expect anything (else) but the Sunnah (way of dealing) of the peoples of old? So no change will you find in Allah's Sunnah (way of dealing), and no turning off will you find in Allah's Sunnah (way of dealing).

Have they not travelled in the land, and seen what was the end of those before them - though they were superior to them in power? Allah is not such that anything in the heavens or in the earth escapes Him. Verily, He is All-Knowing, All-Omnipotent.

ইহারা কি পৃথিবীতে পরিভ্রমণ করে নাই ? তাহা হইলে ইহাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের পরিণাম কী হইয়াছিল তাহা দেখিতে পাইত। উহারা তো ইহাদের অপেক্ষা অধিকতর বলশালী ছিল। এমন নন যে, আকাশমণ্ডলী এবং পৃথিবীর কোন কিছুই তাঁহাকে অক্ষম করিতে পারে; তিনি সর্বজ্ঞ, সর্বশক্তিমান।

Awalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim wakanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan wama kana Allahu liyuAAjizahu min shayin fee alssamawati wala fee alardi innahu kana AAaleeman qadeeran

And if Allah were to punish men for that which they earned, He would not leave a moving (living) creature on the surface of the earth; but He gives them respite to an appointed term: and when their term comes, then verily, Allah is Ever All-Seer of His slaves.

মানুষকে তাহাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য শাস্তি দিলে ভূপৃষ্ঠে কোন জীব - জন্তুকেই রেহাই দিতেন না, কিন্তু তিনি এক নিদির্ষ্ট কাল পর্যন্ত তাহাদেরকে অবকাশ দিয়া থাকেন। অতঃপর তাহাদের নির্দিষ্ট কাল আসিয়া গেলে তো আছেন তাঁহার বান্দাদের সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।

Walaw yuakhithu Allahu alnnasa bima kasaboo ma taraka AAalathahriha min dabbatin walakin yuakhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman faitha jaa ajaluhum fainna Allaha kana biAAibadihi baseeran
