In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. By the heaven holding the big stars.

জহুরুল হক

ভাবো নক্ষত্রপুঞ্জবিশিষ্ট আকাশের কথা,

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ

Word by word

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ

And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).

জহুরুল হক

আর সেই অঙ্গীকার করা দিনের কথা,

وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ

وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ

And by the Witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the Witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah];

জহুরুল হক

আর সাক্ষ্যদাতার ও যাদের জন্য সাক্ষ্য দেওয়া হবে তাদের কথা।

وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ

Cursed were the people of the Ditch (in the story of the Boy and the King).

খন্দকগুলোর মালিকদের নিপাত করা হয়েছে, -

Of fire fed with fuel,

জ্বালানি দেওয়া অগ্নিকুন্ড;

النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ

When they sat by it (fire),

জহুরুল হক

দেখো! তারা এর কিনারা বসে থাকত,

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ

And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them).

জহুরুল হক

আর তারা মুমিনদের সঙ্গে যা করত তার জন্য তারাই সাক্ষী ছিল।

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ

And they had no fault except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!

জহুরুল হক

আর তারা এদের প্রতি বিরূপ ছিল না এই ব্যতীত যে এরা বিশ্বাস করত মহাশক্তিশালী পরমপ্রশংসিত তে -

وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ

وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

To Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything.

জহুরুল হক

যাঁর অধিকারে মহাকাশমন্ডল ও পৃথিবীর সার্বভৌম কর্তৃত্ব রয়েছে। আর সব - কিছুর উপরে সাক্ষী রয়েছেন।

الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance (to Allah), then they will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire.

জহুরুল হক

নিঃসন্দেহে যারা পুরুষ ওমুমিন নারীদের নির্যাতন করে এবং তারপরে ফেরে না, তাদের জন্য তবে রয়েছে জাহান্নামের শাস্তি, আর তাদের জন্য আছে দহন যন্ত্রণা।

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ

Word by word

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success.

জহুরুল হক

পক্ষান্তরে যারা ঈমান এনেছে ও সৎকর্ম করছে তাদের জন্য রয়েছে বাগানসমূহ যাদের নিচে দিয়ে বয়ে চলেছে ঝরনারাজি। এটিইতো বিরাট সাফল্য।

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Verily, (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) the Seizure (punishment) of your Lord is severe and painful. [See V.11:102].

জহুরুল হক

নিঃসন্দেহে তোমার প্রভুর পাকড়ানো বড়ই কঠোর।

إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ

إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection).

জহুরুল হক

নিঃসন্দেহে তিনি, তিনিই সৃষ্টি শুরু করেন এবং পুনঃসৃষ্টি করেন;

إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ

And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism),

আর তিনিই পরিত্রাণকারী, প্রেমময়,

وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ

Owner of the throne, the Glorious,

সম্মানিত আরশের অধিকারী,

(He is the) Doer of whatsoever He intends (or wills).

Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Message of Islamic Monotheism).

জহুরুল হক

বস্তুত যারা অবিশ্বাস করেছে তারা মিথ্যারোপ করায় রত;

بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ

And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds).

কিন্তু তাদের পেছন থেকে ঘেরাও করে রয়েছেন।

وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ
