Al Qadr

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

1 In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Verily, We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree).

Saheeh International

1 Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.

Shakir

1 Surely We revealed it on the grand night.

2 And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is?

Saheeh International

2 And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?

2 And what will make you comprehend what the grand night

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

3 The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months).

Saheeh International

3 The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

Shakir

3 The grand night is better than a thousand months.

4 Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibril (Gabril)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees,

Saheeh International

4 The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

Shakir

4 The angels and Jibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair,

5 (All that night), there is Peace (and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.

Saheeh International

5 Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.

Shakir

5 Peace! it is till the break of the morning.
