١ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Pickthall
1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Successful indeed are the believers

1 Qad aflah a almuminoona

١ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

2 Who are humble in their prayers,

5 And who guard their modesty -

5 Waa llath eena hum lifuroojihim ha fith a

٥ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ

٦ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ

6 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy,

6 Illa AAala azwa jihim aw ma malakat ayma nuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena

٦ إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ

٧ فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ

7 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors -

7 Famani ibtagha wara a tha lika faola ika humu alAAa doona

٧ فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ

٨ وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ

8 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant,

8 Waa llath eena hum liama na tihim waAAahdihim ra AAoona

٨ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ

9 And who pay heed to their prayers.

10 Ola ika humu alwa rithoona

١١ الَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

11 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide.

11 Allath eena yarithoona alfirdawsa hum feeha kha lidoona

١١ ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

١٢ وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ

12 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth;

12 Walaqad khalaqna alinsa na min sula latin min t eenin

١٢ وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ

١٣ ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

13 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging;

13 Thumma jaAAalna hu nut fatan fee qara rin makeenin

١٣ ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

١٤ ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقًا آخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ
Pickthall
14 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators!

14 Thumma khalaqna al nnut fata AAalaqatan fakhalaqna alAAalaqata mud ghatan fakhalaqna almud ghata AAith a man fakasawna alAAith a ma lah man thumma anshana hu khalqan a khara fataba raka Alla hu ah sanu alkha liqeena

١٤ ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ

١٥ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ

15 Then lo! after that ye surely die.

15 Thumma innakum baAAda tha lika lamayyitoona

16 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again).

16 Thumma innakum yawma alqiya mati tubAAathoona

١٧ وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَائِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ الْخَلْقِ غَافِلِينَ

17 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation.

17 Walaqad khalaqna fawqakum sabAAa t ara iqa wama kunna AAani alkhalqi gha fileena

١٧ وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَٰفِلِينَ

١٨ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّاهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍ بِهِ لَقَادِرُونَ
Pickthall
18 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it.

18 Waanzalna mina al ssama i ma an biqadarin faaskanna hu fee alard i wainna AAala th aha bin bihi laqa diroona

١٨ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَٰدِرُونَ

١٩ فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Pickthall
19 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date - palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat;

19 Faanshana lakum bihi janna tin min nakheelin waaAAna bin lakum feeha fawa kihu katheeratun waminha takuloona

١٩ فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Arabic, with marks
٢٠ وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَاءَ تَنبُتُ بِالدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْآكِلِينَ
Pickthall
20 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters.

20 Washajaratan takhruju min t oori sayna a tanbutu bial dduhni was ibghin lila kileena

٢٠ وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْءَاكِلِينَ

٢١ وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Pickthall
21 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat;

21 Wainna lakum fee alanAAa mi laAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee but ooniha walakum feeha mana fiAAu katheeratun waminha takuloona

٢١ وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ

٢٢ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ

22 And on them and on the ship ye are carried.

22 WaAAalayha waAAala alfulki tuh maloona

٢٢ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ

٢٣ وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Pickthall
23 And We verily sent Noah unto his folk, and he said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other God save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil) ?

23 Walaqad arsalna nooh an ila qawmihi faqa la ya qawmi oAAbudoo Alla ha ma lakum min ila hin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona

٢٣ وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Arabic, with marks
٢٤ فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن قَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَائِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ
Pickthall
24 But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: This is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. We heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old.

24 Faqa la almalao allath eena kafaroo min qawmihi ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum yureedu an yatafadd ala AAalaykum walaw sha a Alla hu laanzala mala ikatan ma samiAAna bihatha fee a ba ina alawwaleena

٢٤ فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَا

٢٥ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا بِهِ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
Pickthall
25 He is only a man in whom is a madness, so watch him for a while.

25 In huwa illa rajulun bihi jinnatun fatarabbas oo bihi h atta h eenin

٢٥ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ

٢٦ قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ

26 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me.

26 Qa la rabbi ons urnee bima kathth abooni

٢٦ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ

٢٧ فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ ۙ فَاسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ۖ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
Pickthall
27 Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong. Lo! they will be drowned.

27 Faawh ayna ilayhi ani is naAAi alfulka biaAAyunina wawah yina faitha ja a amruna wafa ra al ttannooru fao sluk feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu minhum wala tukhat ibnee fee allath eena th a

٢٧ فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَ

٢٨ فَإِذَا اسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّانَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Pickthall
28 And when thou art on board the ship, thou and whoso is with thee, then say: Praise be to Allah Who hath saved us from the wrongdoing folk!

28 Faitha istawayta anta waman maAAaka AAala alfulki faquli alh amdu lilla hi allath ee najja na mina alqawmi al thth a limeena

٢٨ فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

٢٩ وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِي مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنزِلِينَ
Pickthall
29 And say: My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing - place, for Thou art Best of all who bring to land.

29 Waqul rabbi anzilnee munzalan muba rakan waanta khayru almunzileena

٢٩ وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ

٣٠ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ

30 Lo! herein verily are portents, for lo! We are ever putting (mankind) to the test.

30 Inna fee tha lika laa ya tin wain kunna lamubtaleena

٣٠ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ

٣١ ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ

31 Then, after them, We brought forth another generation;

31 Thumma anshana min baAAdihim qarnan a khareena

٣١ ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ

٣٢ فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Pickthall
32 And we sent among them a messenger of their own, saying: Serve Allah, Ye have no other God save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil) ?

32 Faarsalna feehim rasoolan minhum ani oAAbudoo Alla ha ma lakum min ila hin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona

٣٢ فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

٣٣ وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَاهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ
Pickthall
33 And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink.

33 Waqa la almalao min qawmihi allath eena kafaroo wakathth aboo biliqa i ala khirati waatrafna hum fee alh aya ti al ddunya ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum yakulu mimma takuloona minhu wayashrabu mimma tashraboona

٣٣ وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَش

٣٤ وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَاسِرُونَ

34 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers.

34 Walain at aAAtum basharan mithlakum innakum ith an lakha siroona

٣٤ وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ

٣٥ أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ

35 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth ?

35 AyaAAidukum annakum itha mittum wakuntum tura ban waAAith a man annakum mukhrajoona

٣٥ أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ

٣٦ ۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ

36 Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised!

36 Hayha ta hayha ta lima tooAAadoona

Pickthall
37 There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again).

٣٨ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

38 He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him.

38 In huwa illa rajulun iftara AAala Alla hi kath iban wama nah nu lahu bimumineena

٣٨ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

39 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me.

40 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant.

٤١ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ بِالْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ غُثَاءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Pickthall
41 So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk!

41 Faakhath athumu al ss ayh atu bia lh aqqi fajaAAalna hum ghutha an fabuAAdan lilqawmi al thth a limeena

٤١ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ غُثَآءً فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

42 Then after them We brought forth other generations.

43 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it.

٤٣ مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ

٤٤ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَىٰ ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَاءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Pickthall
44 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not!

44 Thumma arsalna rusulana tatra kulla ma ja a ommatan rasooluha kathth aboohu faatbaAAna baAAd ahum baAAd an wajaAAalna hum aha deetha fabuAAdan liqawmin la yuminoona

٤٤ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

45 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant

46 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk.

46 Ila firAAawna wamalaihi fai stakbaroo waka noo qawman AAa leena

٤٧ فَقَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَابِدُونَ

47 And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us ?

47 Faqa loo anuminu libasharayni mithlina waqawmuhuma lana AAa bidoona

٤٧ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَٰبِدُونَ

48 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed.

49 And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright.

50 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings.

50 WajaAAalna ibna maryama waommahu a yatan waa wayna huma ila rabwatin tha ti qara rin wamaAAeenin

٥٠ وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ

٥١ يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ

51 O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do.

51 Ya ayyuha al rrusulu kuloo mina al tt ayyiba ti wai AAmaloo sa lih an innee bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun

٥١ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَٰلِحًا إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ

٥٢ وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونِ

52 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me.

52 Wainna hath ihi ommatukum ommatan wah idatan waana rabbukum fai ttaqooni

٥٢ وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ

٥٣ فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ

53 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets.

53 Fataqatt aAAoo amrahum baynahum zuburan kullu h izbin bima ladayhim farih oona

٥٣ فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ

54 So leave them in their error till a time.

55 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them

٥٥ أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ

56 We hasten unto them with good things ? Nay, but they perceive not.

57 Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord.

58 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord,

59 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord,

60 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord,

60 Waa llath eena yutoona ma a taw waquloobuhum wajilatun annahum ila rabbihim ra jiAAoona

٦٠ وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ

٦١ أُولَٰئِكَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَابِقُونَ

61 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race.

61 Ola ika yusa riAAoona fee alkhayra ti wahum laha sa biqoona

٦١ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ

٦٢ وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَابٌ يَنطِقُ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

62 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged.

62 Wala nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha waladayna kita bun yant iqu bia lh aqqi wahum la yuth a

٦٢ وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

٦٣ بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَالٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَامِلُونَ

63 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing;

63 Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratin min hatha walahum aAAma lun min dooni tha lika hum laha AAa miloona

٦٣ بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰمِلُونَ

٦٤ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِالْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْأَرُونَ

64 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate.

64 H atta itha akhath na mutrafeehim bia lAAatha bi itha hum yajaroona

٦٤ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ

65 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us.

٦٥ لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ

٦٦ قَدْ كَانَتْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ

66 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels,

66 Qad ka nat a ya tee tutla AAalaykum fakuntum AAala aAAqa bikum tankis oona

٦٦ قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ

٦٧ مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ

67 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together.

67 Mustakbireena bihi sa miran tahjuroona

٦٨ أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا الْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَاءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ آبَاءَهُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

68 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old ?

68 Afalam yaddabbaroo alqawla am ja ahum ma lam yati a ba ahumu alawwaleena

٦٨ أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

٦٩ أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُ مُنكِرُونَ

69 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him ?

69 Am lam yaAArifoo rasoolahum fahum lahu munkiroona

٦٩ أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ

٧٠ أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ ۚ بَلْ جَاءَهُم بِالْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ
Pickthall
70 Or say they: There is a madness in him ? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth.

70 Am yaqooloona bihi jinnatun bal ja ahum bia lh aqqi waaktharuhum lilh aqqi ka rihoona

٧٠ أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ

٧١ وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Pickthall
71 And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away.

71 Walawi ittabaAAa alh aqqu ahwa ahum lafasadati al ssama wa tu waa lard u waman feehinna bal atayna hum bith ikrihim fahum AAan th ikrihim muAArid oona

٧١ وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ

٧٢ أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
Pickthall
72 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute ? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision.

72 Am tasaluhum kharjan fakhara ju rabbika khayrun wahuwa khayru al rra ziqeena

٧٢ أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ

٧٣ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

73 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path.

٧٤ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ عَنِ الصِّرَاطِ لَنَاكِبُونَ

74 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path.

٧٤ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَٰكِبُونَ

٧٥ ۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَاهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

75 Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy.

75 Walaw rah imna hum wakashafna ma bihim min d urrin lalajjoo fee t ughya nihim yaAAmahoona

٧٥ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

٧٦ وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

76 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray,

76 Walaqad akhath na hum bia lAAatha bi fama istaka noo lirabbihim wama yatad arraAAoona

٧٦ وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

٧٧ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ

77 Until, when We open for them the gate of extreme punishment, behold! they are aghast thereat.

78 He it is Who hath created for you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give ye!

80 And He it is Who giveth life and causeth death, and His is the difference of night and day. Have ye then no sense ?

82 They say: When we are dead and have become (mere) dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again ?

83 We were already promised this, we and our forefathers. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old.

83 Laqad wuAAidna nah nu waa ba ona hatha min qablu in hatha illa asat eeru alawwaleena

90 Nay, but We have brought them the Truth, and lo! they are liars.

٩١ مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Pickthall
91 Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any god along with Him; else would each god have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege.

91 Ma ittakhath a Alla hu min waladin wama ka na maAAahu min ila hin ith an lath ahaba kullu ila hin bima khalaqa walaAAala baAAd uhum AAala baAAd in subha na Alla hi AAamma yas ifoona

95 And verily We are Able to show thee that which We have promised them.

100 That I may do right in that which I have left behind! But nay! It is but a word that he speaketh; and behind them is a barrier until the day when they are raised.

100 LaAAallee aAAmalu sa lih an feema taraktu kalla innaha kalimatun huwa qa iluha wamin wara ihim barzakhun ila yawmi yubAAathoona

101 And when the trumpet is blown there will be no kinship among them that day, nor will they ask of one another.

103 And those whose scales are light are those who lose their souls, in hell abiding.

109 Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy;

109 Innahu ka na fareequn min AAiba dee yaqooloona rabbana a manna fai ghfir lana wai rh amna waanta khayru al rrah imeena

110 But ye chose them for a laughing - stock until they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, while ye laughed at them.

١١١ إِنِّي جَزَيْتُهُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ

111 Lo! I have rewarded them this day forasmuch as they were steadfast in that they, even they, are the triumphant.

115 Deemed ye then that We had created you for naught, and that ye would not be returned unto Us ?

115 Afah asibtum annama khalaqna kum AAabathan waannakum ilayna la turjaAAoona

١١٥ أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Arabic, with marks
١١٦ فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ
Pickthall
116 Now Allah be Exalted, the True King! There is no God save Him, the Lord of the Throne of Grace.
Transliteration
116 FataAAa la Alla hu almaliku alh aqqu la ila ha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alkareemi

١١٦ فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ

١١٧ وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ لَا بُرْهَانَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ
Pickthall
117 He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not be successful .
Transliteration
117 Waman yadAAu maAAa Alla hi ila han a khara la burha na lahu bihi fainnama h isa buhu AAinda rabbihi innahu la yuflih u alka firoona

١١٧ وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ

١١٨ وَقُل رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Pickthall
118 And (O Muhammad) say: My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for Thou art Best of all who show mercy.

118 Waqul rabbi ighfir wai rh am waanta khayru al rrah imeena
