١ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Pickthall
1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things.

১ আল্লাহর নামে শুরু করছি, পরম করুণাময় পরম দয়ালু; বরকতময় তিনি, যার হাতে রয়েছে সকল কর্তৃত্ব; এবং তিনি সবকিছুর উপর সর্বশক্তিমান।

٢ الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ

2 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving,

২ যিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন মৃত্যু ও জীবন, তোমাদের পরীক্ষা করার জন্য, তোমাদের মধ্যে কে কর্মে সর্বোত্তম। আর তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, পরম ক্ষমাশীল।

٣ الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا ۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مِن تَفَاوُتٍ ۖ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٍ
Pickthall
3 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts ?

৩ যিনি স্তরে স্তরে সাত আকাশ সৃষ্টি করেছেন। তুমি পরম করুণাময়ের সৃষ্টিতে কোনো অসামঞ্জস্য দেখতে পাবে না। অতঃপর তুমি আবার দৃষ্টি ফিরাও; তুমি কি কোনো ত্রুটি দেখতে পাও?

٤ ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ

4 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim.

৪ তারপর তুমি বারবার দৃষ্টি ফিরাও; দৃষ্টি তোমার কাছেই ফিরে আসবে ব্যর্থ ও অবসন্ন হয়ে।

٥ وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِّلشَّيَاطِينِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ
Pickthall
5 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame.

৫ আর অবশ্যই আমরা নিকটতম আকাশকে প্রদীপসমূহ দিয়ে শোভিত করেছি এবং সেগুলোকে শয়তানদের দিকে নিক্ষেপের জন্য করেছি। আর তাদের জন্য আমরা সাঈরের শাস্তি প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছি।

٦ وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

6 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end!

৬ আর যারা তাদের প্রতিপালককে অবিশ্বাস করেছে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে জাহান্নামের শাস্তি। আর তা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট গন্তব্যস্থান!

٧ إِذَا أُلْقُوا فِيهَا سَمِعُوا لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ

7 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up,

৭ যখন তাদেরকে তাতে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে, তখন তারা তার ভয়ঙ্কর গর্জন শুনবে, আর তা উথলে উঠবে।

٨ تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ
Pickthall
8 As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner ?

৮ তা যেন ক্রোধে ফেটে পড়বে। যখনই কোনো দল তাতে নিক্ষিপ্ত হবে, তার প্রহরীরা তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করবে, “তোমাদের কাছে কি কোনো সতর্ককারী আসেনি?”

٩ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَاءَنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ كَبِيرٍ
Pickthall
9 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error.

৯ তারা বলবে, “হ্যাঁ, অবশ্যই আমাদের কাছে একজন সতর্ককারী এসেছিলেন; কিন্তু আমরা অস্বীকার করেছিলাম এবং বলেছিলাম, ‘আল্লাহ কিছুই অবতীর্ণ করেননি। তোমরা তো শুধু বড় বিভ্রান্তির মধ্যে রয়েছ।’”

١٠ وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

10 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames.

১০ আর তারা বলবে, “যদি আমরা শুনতাম অথবা বিবেচনা করতাম, তবে আমরা জ্বলন্ত আগুনের অধিবাসীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হতাম না।”

١١ فَاعْتَرَفُوا بِذَنبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لِّأَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

11 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames.

১১ অতঃপর তারা তাদের অপরাধ স্বীকার করবে। অতএব জ্বলন্ত আগুনের অধিবাসীরা দূরে নিক্ষিপ্ত।
سُحْقًا : আক্ষরিক অর্থ "দূরে নিক্ষিপ্ত হওয়া" বা "দূরত্ব"।

١٢ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ
Pickthall
12 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward.

১২ নিশ্চয়ই যারা তাদের পালনকর্তাকে না দেখে ভয় করে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে ক্ষমা এবং মহাপ্রতিদান।

١٣ وَأَسِرُّوا قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ اجْهَرُوا بِهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
Pickthall
13 And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men).

১৩ আর তোমরা তোমাদের কথা গোপন করো অথবা প্রকাশ করো; নিশ্চয়ই তিনি অন্তরের বিষয় সম্পর্কে সর্বজ্ঞ।

١٤ أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ

14 Should He not know what He created ? And He is the Subtile, the Aware.

১৪ যিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তিনি কি জানবেন না? আর তিনি সূক্ষ্মদর্শী, সর্বজ্ঞ।

١٥ هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَامْشُوا فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا مِن رِّزْقِهِ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Pickthall
15 He it is Who hath made the earth subservient unto you, so Walk in the paths thereof and eat of His providence. And unto Him will be the resurrection (of the dead).

১৫ তিনিই তোমাদের জন্য পৃথিবীকে অনুগত করে দিয়েছেন। অতএব তোমরা এর পথে-প্রান্তরে চলো এবং তাঁর রিযিক থেকে আহার করো। আর তাঁর কাছেই পুনরুত্থান।

١٦ أَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاءِ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ
Pickthall
16 Have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not cause the earth to swallow you when lo! it is convulsed ?

১৬ ৬৭–১৬ : তোমরা কি নিশ্চিন্ত হয়ে গেছো সেই সত্তা থেকে, যিনি আকাশে আছেন, যে তিনি তোমাদেরকে পৃথিবীর মধ্যে ধসিয়ে দেবেন? তখন তা প্রবলভাবে কেঁপে উঠবে।

١٧ أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ
Pickthall
17 Or have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not let loose on you a hurricane ? But ye shall know the manner of My warning.

১৭ নাকি তোমরা নিশ্চিন্ত হয়ে গেছো সেই সত্তা থেকে, যিনি আকাশে আছেন, যে তিনি তোমাদের উপর পাথর নিক্ষেপকারী ঝড় পাঠাবেন? তখন তোমরা জানতে পারবে আমার সতর্কবার্তা কেমন।

١٨ وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
Pickthall
18 And verily those before them denied, then (see) the manner of My wrath (with them)!

১৮ আর অবশ্যই তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও অস্বীকার করেছিল। অতঃপর কেমন ছিলো আমার প্রত্যাখ্যান!

١٩ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَافَّاتٍ وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا الرَّحْمَٰنُ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ بَصِيرٌ
Pickthall
19 Have they not seen the birds above them spreading out their wings and closing them ? Naught upholdeth them save the Beneficent. Lo! He is Seer of all things.

১৯ তারা কি দেখে না তাদের উপরে পাখিদের, ডানা বিস্তার করে এবং গুটিয়ে নেয়? পরম করুণাময় ছাড়া কেউই তাদেরকে ধরে রাখেন না। নিশ্চয়ই তিনি সবকিছু প্রত্যক্ষকারী।

٢٠ أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي هُوَ جُندٌ لَّكُمْ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ إِنِ الْكَافِرُونَ إِلَّا فِي غُرُورٍ
Pickthall
20 Or who is he that will be an army unto you to help you instead of the Beneficent ? The disbelievers are in naught but illusion.

২০ অথবা কে এমন, যে তোমাদের জন্য বাহিনী হবে, পরম করুণাময়কে বাদ দিয়ে তোমাদের সাহায্য করবে? অস্বীকারকারীরা তো শুধু প্রতারণার মধ্যেই রয়েছে।

٢١ أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُ ۚ بَل لَّجُّوا فِي عُتُوٍّ وَنُفُورٍ
Pickthall
21 Or who is he that will provide for you if He should withhold His providence ? Nay, but they are set in pride and frowardness.

২১ অথবা কে সে, যে তোমাদেরকে জীবিকা দেবে, যদি তিনি তাঁর জীবিকা বন্ধ করে দেন? বরং তারা অবাধ্যতা ও বিমুখতার মধ্যেই অবিচল রয়েছে।

٢٢ أَفَمَن يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِ أَهْدَىٰ أَمَّن يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
Pickthall
22 Is he who goeth groping on his face more rightly guided, or he who walketh upright on a straight road ?

২২ তবে কি সে অধিক সঠিক পথে পরিচালিত, যে উপুড় হয়ে মুখের উপর চলে, নাকি সে, যে সরল পথে সোজা হয়ে চলে?

٢٣ قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۖ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
Pickthall
23 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): He it is who gave you being, and hath assigned unto you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give ye!

২৩ বলো, তিনিই তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তোমাদের জন্য শ্রবণ, দৃষ্টি ও অন্তর দিয়েছেন। তোমরা খুব অল্পই কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর।

٢٤ قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

24 Say: He it is Who multiplieth you in the earth, and unto Whom ye will be gathered.

২৪ বলো, তিনিই তোমাদেরকে পৃথিবীতে ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন, এবং তাঁর কাছেই তোমাদের সমবেত করা হবে।

٢٥ وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

25 And they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful ?

২৫ আর তারা বলে, এই প্রতিশ্রুতি কবে হবে, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও?

٢٦ قُلْ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

26 Say: The knowledge is with Allah only, and I am but a plain warner;

২৬ বলো, এর জ্ঞান কেবল আল্লাহর কাছেই। আর আমি তো কেবল একজন স্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী।

٢٧ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيئَتْ وُجُوهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تَدَّعُونَ
Pickthall
27 But when they see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will be awry, and it will be said (unto them): This is that for which ye used to call.

২৭ অতঃপর যখন তারা সেটিকে নিকটবর্তী দেখতে পাবে, তখন অবিশ্বাসীদের মুখমণ্ডল মলিন হয়ে যাবে, এবং বলা হবে, এটাই তো ছিল যা তোমরা দাবি করতে।

٢٨ قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِيَ اللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِيَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ الْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Pickthall
28 Say (O Muhammad): Have ye thought: Whether Allah causeth me (Muhammad) and those with me to perish or hath mercy on us, still, who will protect the disbelievers from a painful doom ?

২৮ বলো, তোমরা কি ভেবে দেখেছো, যদি আল্লাহ আমাকে এবং আমার সঙ্গে যারা আছে তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করেন অথবা আমাদের প্রতি দয়া করেন, তবে কে অস্বীকারকারীদেরকে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি থেকে রক্ষা করবে?

٢٩ قُلْ هُوَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ آمَنَّا بِهِ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
Pickthall
29 Say: He is the Beneficent. In Him we believe and in Him we put our trust. And ye will soon know who it is that is in error manifest.

২৯ বলো, তিনিই পরম করুণাময়। আমরা তাঁর প্রতি ঈমান এনেছি এবং তাঁরই উপর নির্ভর করেছি। অতএব শীঘ্রই তোমরা জানতে পারবে কে সুস্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতে রয়েছে।

٣٠ قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَاؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَن يَأْتِيكُم بِمَاءٍ مَّعِينٍ
Pickthall
30 Say: Have ye thought: If (all) your water were to disappear into the earth, who then could bring you gushing water ?

৩০ বলো, তোমরা কি ভেবে দেখেছো, যদি তোমাদের পানি ভূগর্ভে চলে যায়, তবে কে তোমাদের জন্য প্রবাহমান পানি এনে দেবে?
