Chapter 80, 42 verses
Er blickte düster und kehrte sich ab,
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. (The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم) frowned and turned away.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. He frowned and turned away
weil der Blinde zu ihm kam.
Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs).
Because the blind man came unto him.
Was läßt dich wissen, vielleicht läutert er sich
And how can you know that he might become pure (from sins)?
What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace)
Or he might receive admonition, and the admonition might profit him?
Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him ?
As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient,
As for him who thinketh himself independent,
so widmest du dich ihm,
To him you attend;
Unto him thou payest regard.
What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief: you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah).
Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace).
But as to him who came to you running,
But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose
und dabei gottesfürchtig ist,
And is afraid (of Allah and His punishment).
And hath fear,
von dem läßt du dich ablenken.
Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another,
From him thou art distracted.
Keineswegs! Gewiß, es ist eine Erinnerung.
Nay, (do not do like this); indeed it (this Qur'an) is an admonition.
Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment,
Wer nun will, gedenkt seiner.
So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it.
So let whosoever will pay heed to it,
(Er steht) auf in Ehren gehaltenen Blättern,
(It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz),
On honoured leaves
erhöhten und rein gehaltenen,
Exalted (in dignity), purified,
Exalted, purified,
durch die Hände von Entsandten,
In the hands of scribes (angels).
(Set down) by scribes
edlen, frommen.
Honourable and obedient.
Noble and righteous.
Tod dem Menschen, wie undankbar er ist!
Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is!
Man is (self - )destroyed: how ungrateful!
Woraus hat Er ihn erschaffen?
From what thing did He create him?
From what thing doth He create him ?
From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him and then set him in due proportion.
From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him,
Den Weg hierauf macht Er ihm leicht.
Then He makes the Path easy for him.
Then maketh the way easy for him,
Hierauf läßt Er ihn sterben und bringt ihn dann ins Grab.
Then He causes him to die and puts him in his grave.
Then causeth him to die, and burieth him;
Hierauf, wenn Er will, läßt Er ihn auferstehen.
Then when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again).
Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life.
Keineswegs!
Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him.
Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him.
Then let man look at his food:
Let man consider his food:
Wir gießen ja Güsse von Wasser,
We pour forth water in abundance.
How We pour water in showers
And We split the earth in clefts.
Then split the earth in clefts
und lassen dann auf ihr Korn wachsen
And We cause therein the grain to grow,
And cause the grain to grow therein
und Rebstöcke und Grünzeug
And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle),
And grapes and green fodder
und Ölbäume und Palmen
And olives and date-palms,
And olive - trees and palm - trees
und Gärten mit dicken Bäumen
And gardens dense with many trees,
And garden - closes of thick foliage
und Früchte und Futter,
And fruits and herbage
And fruits and grasses:
als Nießbrauch für euch und für euer Vieh.
(To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle.
Provision for you and your cattle.
Wenn dann der betäubende (Schrei) kommt,
Then when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the second blowing of the Trumpet on the Day of Resurrection)
But when the Shout cometh
That Day shall a man flee from his brother,
On the day when a man fleeth from his brother
und seiner Mutter und seinem Vater
And from his mother and his father,
And his mother and his father
und seiner Gefährtin und seinen Söhnen
And from his wife and his children.
And his wife and his children,
Everyman that Day will have enough to make him careless of others.
Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others).
Some faces that Day will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism),
On that day faces will be bright as dawn,
lachen und sich freuen.
Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise).
Laughing, rejoicing at good news;
And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained.
And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them,
und sie werden von Dunkelheit bedeckt sein.
Darkness will cover them.
Veiled in darkness,
Das sind die Ungläubigen und Sittenlosen.
Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers).
Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.
