Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ayn-Sad.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ain-Sad. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ كهيعص

Deutsch

(Diese Verse sind) zum Gedenken an die Barmherzigkeit deines Herrn zu Seinem Diener Zakariyya.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

(This is) a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His slave Zakariyya (Zachariah).

ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُ زَكَرِيَّا

Deutsch

Als er zu seinem Herrn im Verborgenen rief

When he called out his Lord (Allah) a call in secret.

Arabic, with marks

إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ نِدَاءً خَفِيًّا

Word by word

إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّا

Deutsch

(und) sagte: "Mein Herr, schwach sind mir die Knochen geworden, und in Altersgrauheit entfacht ist der Kopf. Und ich war im Bittgebet zu Dir, mein Herr, (noch) nie unglücklich.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

He said: "My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble, and grey hair has spread on my head, And I have never been unblest in my invocation to You, O my Lord!

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُن بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا

Deutsch

Gewiß, ich fürchte die Verwandten nach mir, und meine Frau ist unfruchtbar. So schenke mir von Dir aus einen nahen Verwandten,

"And verily I fear my relatives after me, and my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir.

وَإِنِّي خِفْتُ الْمَوَالِيَ مِن وَرَائِي وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا

Word by word

وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا

Deutsch

der mich beerbt und von der Sippe Ya'qubs erbt, und mach ihn, mein Herr, (Dir) wohlgefällig."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

"Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of Ya'qub (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not of wealth.). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-Pleased!"

يَرِثُنِي وَيَرِثُ مِنْ آلِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَاجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا

Word by word

يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا

Deutsch

O Zakariyya, Wir verkünden dir einen Jungen, dessen Name Yahya ist, wie Wir zuvor noch niemandem Kennzeichen gleich den seinen gegeben haben.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

(Allah said) "O Zakariyya (Zachariah)! Verily, We give you the glad tidings of a son, whose name will be Yahya (John). We have given that name to none before (him)."

يَا زَكَرِيَّا إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ اسْمُهُ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا

Word by word

يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "Mein Herr, wie soll ich einen Jungen haben, wo meine Frau unfruchtbar ist und ich vom hohen Alter bereits einen Dürrezustand erreicht habe?"

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

He said: "My Lord! How can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have reached the extreme old age."

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "So wird es sein. Dein Herr sagt: ,Das ist Mir ein leichtes; und auch dich habe Ich ja zuvor erschaffen, als du noch nichts warst'."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

He said: "So (it will be). Your Lord says: It is easy for Me. Certainly I have created you before, when you had been nothing!"

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْئًا

Word by word

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْـًٔا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "Mein Herr, setze mir ein Zeichen." Er sagte: "Dein Zeichen ist, daß du drei Nächte lang, obwohl gesund, nicht zu den Menschen sprechen wirst."

[Zakariyya (Zachariah)] said: "My Lord! Appoint for me a sign." He said: "Your sign is that you shall not speak unto mankind for three nights, though having no bodily defect."

قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَل لِّي آيَةً ۚ قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا

Deutsch

So kam er zu seinem Volk aus dem Gebetsraum heraus und gab ihnen dann zu verstehen: "Preist morgens und abends."

Then he came out to his people from Al-Mihrab (a praying place or a private room), and he told them by signs to glorify Allah's Praises in the morning and in the afternoon.

فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِنَ الْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا

Word by word

فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا

Deutsch

"O Yahya, nimm die Schrift mit (aller) Kraft." Und Wir gaben ihm schon als Kind die Urteilskraft

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

(It was said to his son): "O Yahya (John)! Hold fast the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]." And We gave him wisdom while yet a child.

يَا يَحْيَىٰ خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا

Word by word

يَٰيَحْيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ٱلْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا

Deutsch

und Mitgefühl von Uns aus und Lauterkeit. Er war gottesfürchtig

And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous,

وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَاةً ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا

Word by word

وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةً وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا

Deutsch

und gütig gegen seine Eltern, und er war weder gewalttätig noch widerspenstig.

And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents).

وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا

Word by word

وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا

Deutsch

Und Friede sei auf ihm am Tag, da er geboren wurde, und am Tag, da er stirbt, und am Tag, da er wieder zum Leben auferweckt wird.

And Salam (peace) be on him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)!

وَسَلَامٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا

Word by word

وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا

Deutsch

Und gedenke im Buch Maryams, als sie sich von ihren Angehörigen an einen östlichen Ort zurückzog.

And mention in the Book (the Qur'an, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم the story of) Maryam (Mary), when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ انتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا

Word by word

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا

Deutsch

Sie nahm sich einen Vorhang vor ihnen. Da sandten Wir Unseren Geist zu ihr. Er stellte sich ihr als wohlgestaltetes menschliches Wesen dar.

She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh [angel Jibril (Gabriel)], and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects.

فَاتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا

Word by word

فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا

Deutsch

Sie sagte: "Ich suche beim Allerbarmer Schutz vor dir, wenn du gottesfürchtig bist."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

She said: "Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Gracious (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah."

قَالَتْ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "Ich bin nur der Gesandte deines Herrn, um dir einen lauteren Jungen zu schenken."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

(The angel) said: "I am only a messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."

قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَامًا زَكِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَٰمًا زَكِيًّا

Deutsch

Sie sagte: "Wie soll mir ein Junge gegeben werden, wo mich doch kein menschliches Wesen berührt hat und ich keine Hure bin."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

She said: "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?"

قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "So wird es sein. Dein Herr sagt: ,Das ist Mir ein leichtes, und damit Wir ihn zu einem Zeichen für die Menschen und zu einer Barmherzigkeit von Uns machen'. Und es ist eine beschlossene Angelegenheit."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

He said: "So (it will be), your Lord said: 'That is easy for Me (Allah): And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allah).' "

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُ آيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا

Deutsch

So empfing sie ihn und zog sich mit ihm zu einem fernen Ort zurück.

So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place (i.e. Bethlehem valley about 4-6 miles from Jerusalem).

۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَانتَبَذَتْ بِهِ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا

Word by word

فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا

Deutsch

Die Wehen ließen sie zum Palmenstamm gehen. Sie sagte: "O wäre ich doch zuvor gestorben und ganz und gar in Vergessenheit geraten!"

And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: "Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!"

فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا

Word by word

فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا

Deutsch

Da rief er ihr von unten her zu: "Sei nicht traurig; dein Herr hat ja unter dir ein Bächlein geschaffen.

Then [the babe 'Îsa (Jesus) or Jibril (Gabriel)] cried unto her from below her, saying: "Grieve not: your Lord has provided a water stream under you.

فَنَادَاهَا مِن تَحْتِهَا أَلَّا تَحْزَنِي قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا

Word by word

فَنَادَىٰهَا مِن تَحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا

Deutsch

Und schüttle zu dir den Palmenstamm, so läßt er frische, reife Datteln auf dich herabfallen.

"And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you."

وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا

Word by word

وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا

Deutsch

So iß und trink und sei frohen Mutes'. Und wenn du nun jemanden von den Menschen sehen solltest, dann sag: Ich habe dem Allerbarmer Fasten gelobt, so werde ich heute mit keinem Menschenwesen sprechen."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

"So eat and drink and be glad. And if you see any human being, say: 'Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allah) so I shall not speak to any human being this day.'"

فَكُلِي وَاشْرَبِي وَقَرِّي عَيْنًا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ الْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِي إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ الْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا

فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًا فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا

Deutsch

Dann kam sie mit ihm zu ihrem Volk, ihn (mit sich) tragend. Sie sagten: "O Maryam, du hast da ja etwas Unerhörtes begangen.

Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariyy (a mighty thing). [Tafsir Al-Tabari]

فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ ۖ قَالُوا يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا

Word by word

فَأَتَتْ بِهِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًٔا فَرِيًّا

Deutsch

O Schwester Haruns, dein Vater war doch kein sündiger Mann, noch war deine Mutter eine Hure."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

"O sister (i.e. the like) of Harun (Aaron) ! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your mother was an unchaste woman."

يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا

Word by word

يَٰٓأُخْتَ هَٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا

Deutsch

Da zeigte sie auf ihn. Sie sagten: "Wie können wir mit jemandem sprechen, der noch ein Kind in der Wiege ist?"

Then she pointed to him. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle? "

فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِي الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا

Word by word

فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ قَالُوا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "Ich bin wahrlich Allahs Diener; Er hat mir die Schrift gegeben und mich zu einem Propheten gemacht.

"He ['Îsa (Jesus)] said: "Verily I am a slave of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet; "

قَالَ إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ آتَانِيَ الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَ إِنِّى عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَىٰنِىَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّا

Deutsch

Und gesegnet hat Er mich gemacht, wo immer ich bin, und angeordnet hat Er mir, das Gebet (zu verrichten) und die Abgabe (zu entrichten), solange ich lebe,

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

"And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat, as long as I live."

وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَانِي بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا

Word by word

وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا

Deutsch

und gütig gegen meine Mutter zu sein. Und Er hat mich weder gewalttätig noch unglücklich gemacht.

"And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.

Arabic, with marks

وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا

Word by word

وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا

Deutsch

Und der Friede sei auf mir am Tag, da ich geboren wurde, und am Tag, da ich sterbe, und am Tag da ich wieder zum Leben auferweckt werde."

"And Salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"

وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا

Word by word

وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا

Deutsch

Das ist 'Isa, der Sohn Maryams: (Es ist) das Wort der Wahrheit, woran sie zweifeln.

Such is 'Îsa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). (It is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute).

ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ الْحَقِّ الَّذِي فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ

Word by word

ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ

Deutsch

Es steht Allah nicht an, Sich ein Kind zu nehmen. Preis sei Ihm! Wenn Er eine Angelegenheit bestimmt, so sagt Er dazu nur: ,Sei!', und so ist es.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son [this refers to the slander of Christians against Allah, by saying that 'Îsa (Jesus) is the son of Allah]. Glorified (and Exalted) be He (above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it: "Be!" - and it is.

مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ ۖ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ

مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥٓ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Deutsch

('Isa sagte:) "Und gewiß, Allah ist mein Herr und euer Herr; so dient Ihm. Das ist ein gerader Weg."

['Îsa (Jesus) said]: "And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets)." [Tafsir At-Tabari]

وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ

Word by word

وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ

Deutsch

Doch die Gruppierungen wurden uneinig untereinander; dann wehe denjenigen, die ungläubig sind, vor dem Erleben eines gewaltigen Tages!

Then the sects differed [i.e. the Christians about 'Îsa (Jesus) عليه السلام], so woe unto the disbelievers [those who gave false witness by saying that 'Îsa (Jesus) is the son of Allah] from the Meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire) .

فَاخْتَلَفَ الْأَحْزَابُ مِن بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

Word by word

فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

Deutsch

Wie vorzüglich werden sie hören und sehen am Tag, da sie zu Uns kommen werden! Aber die Ungerechten befinden sich heute in einem deutlichen Irrtum.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

How clearly will they (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) see and hear the Day when they will appear before Us! But the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) today are in plain error.

أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَٰكِنِ الظَّالِمُونَ الْيَوْمَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

Word by word

أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا لَٰكِنِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ

Deutsch

Warne sie vor dem Tag der gramvollen Reue, wenn die Angelegenheit entschieden sein wird, während sie (all dessen) unachtsam sind, und während sie (noch) nicht glauben.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And warn them (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not .

وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Word by word

وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Deutsch

Gewiß, Wir sind es, die Wir die Erde und (all die,) die auf ihr sind, erben werden. Und zu Uns werden sie zurückgebracht.

Verily We will inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon. And to Us they all shall be returned,

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ الْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ

Deutsch

Und gedenke im Buch Ibrahims. Er war ein Wahrhaftiger und Prophet.

And mention in the Book (the Qur'an) Ibrahim (Abraham). Verily he was a man of truth, a Prophet.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا

Deutsch

Als er zu seinem Vater sagte: "O mein lieber Vater, warum dienst du dem, was nicht hört und nicht sieht und dir nichts nützt?

When he said to his father: "O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not, sees not and cannot avail you in anything?

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنكَ شَيْئًا

Word by word

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَٰٓأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْـًٔا

Deutsch

O mein lieber Vater, gewiß, zu mir ist vom Wissen gekommen, was nicht zu dir gekommen ist. So folge mir, dann leite ich dich einen ebenen Weg.

"O my father! Verily there has come to me of the knowledge that which came not unto you. So follow me, I will guide you to the Straight Path.

يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي قَدْ جَاءَنِي مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا

يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًا سَوِيًّا

Deutsch

O mein lieber Vater, diene nicht dem Satan. Gewiß, der Satan ist gegen den Allerbarmer widerspenstig.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

"O my father! Worship not Shaitan (Satan). Verily Shaitan (Satan) has been a rebel against the Most Gracious (Allah).

يَا أَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَصِيًّا

Word by word

يَٰٓأَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَصِيًّا

Deutsch

O mein lieber Vater, ich fürchte, daß dir Strafe vom Allerbarmer widerfährt, so daß du zu einem Gefolgsmann des Satans wirst."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

"O my father! Verily I fear lest a torment from the Most Gracious (Allah) should overtake you, so that you become a companion of Shaitan (Satan) (in the Hell-fire)." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi]

يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيًّا

يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَلِيًّا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "Verschmähst du meine Götter, o Ibrahim? Wenn du nicht aufhörst, werde ich dich ganz gewiß steinigen. Und meide mich eine Zeitlang."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

He (the father) said: "Do you reject my gods, O Ibrahim (Abraham)? If you stop not (this), I will indeed stone you. So get away from me safely (before I punish you)."

قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ آلِهَتِي يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَاهْجُرْنِي مَلِيًّا

قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّا

Deutsch

Er sagte: "Friede sei auf dir! Ich werde meinen Herrn für dich um Vergebung bitten; gewiß, Er ist zu mir sehr entgegenkommend.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "Peace be on you! I will ask Forgiveness of my Lord for you. Verily He is unto me Ever Most Gracious.

قَالَ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِي حَفِيًّا

Word by word

قَالَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّا

Deutsch

Ich werde mich von euch und von dem, was ihr anstatt Allahs anruft, fernhalten und nur meinen Herrn anrufen. Vielleicht werde ich im Bittgebet zu meinem Herrn nicht unglücklich sein."

"And I shall turn away from you and from those whom you invoke besides Allah. And I shall call upon my Lord and I hope that I shall not be unblest in my invocation to my Lord."

وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَأَدْعُو رَبِّي عَسَىٰ أَلَّا أَكُونَ بِدُعَاءِ رَبِّي شَقِيًّا

وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّا

Deutsch

Als er sich nun von ihnen und von dem, dem sie anstatt Allahs dienten, fernhielt, schenkten Wir ihm Ishaq und Ya'qub; und alle (beide) machten Wir zu Propheten.

So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet.

فَلَمَّا اعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا

فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا

Deutsch

Und Wir schenkten ihnen (etwas) von Unserer Barmherzigkeit, und Wir verliehen ihnen einen hohen Ruf an Wahrhaftigkeit.

And We gave them of Our Mercy (a good provision in plenty), and We granted them honour on the tongues (of all the nations, i.e. everybody remembers them with a good praise).

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا

Deutsch

Und gedenke im Buch Musas. Gewiß, er war auserlesen, und er war ein Gesandter und Prophet.

And mention in the Book (this Qur'an) Musa (Moses). Verily he was chosen and he was a Messenger (and) a Prophet.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مُوسَىٰ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا

Deutsch

Wir riefen ihn von der rechten Seite des Berges und ließen ihn zu vertraulichem Gespräch näherkommen.

And We called him from the right side of the Mount, and made him draw near to Us for a talk with him [Musa (Moses)].

وَنَادَيْنَاهُ مِن جَانِبِ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَاهُ نَجِيًّا

Word by word

وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَٰهُ نَجِيًّا

Deutsch

Und Wir schenkten ihm aus Unserer Barmherzigkeit seinen Bruder Harun als Propheten.

And We granted him his brother Harun (Aaron), (also) a Prophet, out of Our Mercy.

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَا أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ نَبِيًّا

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ نَبِيًّا

Deutsch

Und gedenke im Buch Isma'ils. Gewiß, er war wahrhaftig in seinem Versprechen, und er war ein Gesandter und Prophet.

And mention in the Book (the Qur'an) Isma'il (Ishmael). Verily he was true to what he promised, and he was a Messenger, (and) a Prophet.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا

Deutsch

Und er pflegte seinen Angehörigen das Gebet und die Abgabe zu befehlen, und er war seinem Herrn wohlgefällig.

And he used to enjoin on his family and his people As-Salat (the prayers) and the Zakat and his Lord was pleased with him.

وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِ مَرْضِيًّا

وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّا

Deutsch

Und gedenke im Buch Idris'. Er war ein Wahrhaftiger und Prophet.

And mention in the Book (the Qur'an) Idris (Enoch).Verily he was a man of truth, (and) a Prophet.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا

Word by word

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا

Deutsch

Und Wir hoben ihn zu einem hohen Ort empor.

And We raised him to a high station.

وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا

وَرَفَعْنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا

Deutsch

Das sind diejenigen, denen Allah Gunst erwiesen hat, unter den Propheten aus der Nachkommenschaft Adams und von denjenigen, die Wir mit Nuh trugen, und aus der Nachkommenschaft Ibrahims und Isra'ils, und von denjenigen, die Wir rechtgeleitet und erwählt haben. Als ihnen die Zeichen des Allerbarmers verlesen wurden, fielen sie ehrerbietig und weinend nieder.

Those were they unto whom Allah bestowed His Grace from among the Prophets, of the offspring of Adam, and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Nuh (Noah), and of the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham) and Israel, and from among those whom We guided and chose. When the Verses of the Most Gracious (Allah) were recited unto them, they fell down prostrate and weeping.

أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ آدَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْرَائِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَاجْتَبَيْنَا ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ إِذَا

Deutsch

Dann folgten nach ihnen Nachfolger, die das Gebet vernachlässigten und den Begierden folgten. So werden sie (den Lohn für ihre) Verirrung vorfinden,

Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up As-Salat (the prayers) [i.e. made their Salat (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell.

۞ فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا

Word by word

فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا

Deutsch

außer demjenigen, der bereut und glaubt und rechtschaffen handelt. Jene werden in den (Paradies)garten eingehen und ihnen wird in nichts Unrecht zugefügt

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Except those who repent and believe (in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and work righteousness. Such will enter Paradise and they will not be wronged in aught.

إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا

إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا

Deutsch

in die Gärten Edens, die der Allerbarmer Seinen Dienern im Verborgenen versprochen hat. Sein Versprechen wird bestimmt erfüllt.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

(They will enter) 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), which the Most Gracious (Allah) has promised to His slaves in the Unseen: Verily His Promise must come to pass.

جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُ بِالْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَأْتِيًّا

Word by word

جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّا

Deutsch

Sie hören darin keine unbedachte Rede, sondern nur: "Frieden!" Und sie haben darin ihre Versorgung morgens und abends.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

They shall not hear therein (in Paradise) any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk), but only Salam (salutations of peace). And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and afternoon. [See (V.40:55)].

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَامًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَٰمًا وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا

Deutsch

Das ist der (Paradies)garten, den Wir denjenigen von Unseren Dienern zum Erbe geben, die gottesfürchtig sind.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Such is the Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our slaves who have been Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2).

تِلْكَ الْجَنَّةُ الَّتِي نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا

Word by word

تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا

Deutsch

(Und die Engel sagen:) "Wir kommen nur auf Befehl deines Herrn herab. Ihm gehört (alles), was vor uns und was hinter uns und was dazwischen ist; und dein Herr ist gewiß nicht vergeßlich,'

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And we (angels) descend not except by the Command of your Lord (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two; and your Lord is never forgetful -

وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا

Word by word

وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا

Deutsch

(Er), der Herr der Himmel und der Erde und dessen, was dazwischen ist. So diene Ihm und sei beharrlich in Seinem Dienst. Weißt du (etwa) einen, der Kennzeichen gleich den Seinen besäße?1"

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, so worship Him (Alone) and be constant and patient in His worship. Do you know of any who is similar to Him? (of course none is similar or co-equal or comparable to Him, and He has none as partner with Him). [There is nothing like Him and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer].

رَّبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَاعْبُدْهُ وَاصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَادَتِهِ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيًّا

Word by word

رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَٰدَتِهِۦ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّا

Deutsch

Der Mensch sagt: "Werde ich, wenn ich erst einmal gestorben bin, wirklich wieder lebendig hervorgebracht werden?"

And man (the ) says: "When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?"

وَيَقُولُ الْإِنسَانُ أَإِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا

Word by word

وَيَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا

Deutsch

Gedenkt der Mensch denn nicht, daß Wir ihn zuvor erschaffen haben, da er (noch) nichts war?

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Does not man remember that We created him before, while he was nothing?

Arabic, with marks

أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ الْإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْئًا

Word by word

أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْـًٔا

Deutsch

Bei deinem Herrn, Wir werden sie ganz gewiß versammeln, (sie) und die Satane. Hierauf werden Wir sie ganz gewiß rings um die Hölle herum auf den Knien herbeibringen.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

So by your Lord, surely, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Shayatin (devils) (with them), then We shall bring them round Hell on their knees.

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَالشَّيَاطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا

Word by word

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا

Deutsch

Hierauf werden Wir aus jedem Lager ganz gewiß denjenigen herausnehmen, der sich dem Allerbarmer am heftigsten widersetzt hat.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Then indeed We shall drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against the Most Gracious (Allah).

ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ عِتِيًّا

Word by word

ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عِتِيًّا

Deutsch

Dann wissen Wir wahrlich am besten über diejenigen Bescheid, die es am ehesten verdienen, ihr ausgesetzt zu sein.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Then, verily, We know best those who are most worthy of being burnt therein.

Arabic, with marks

ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِالَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا

Word by word

ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا

Deutsch

Und es gibt keinen unter euch, der nicht daran vorbeigehen würde. Dies obliegt deinem Herrn unabänderlich beschlossen.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell): this is with your Lord; a Decree which must be accomplished.

Arabic, with marks

وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا

Word by word

وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا

Deutsch

Hierauf erretten Wir diejenigen, die gottesfürchtig waren, und lassen die Ungerechten in ihr auf den Knien zurück.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Then We shall save those who used to fear Allah and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell).

ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوا وَّنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا

Word by word

ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا

Deutsch

Und wenn ihnen Unsere Zeichen als klare Beweise verlesen werden, sagen diejenigen, die ungläubig sind, zu denjenigen, die glauben: "Welcher der beiden Gruppen hat nun eine bessere Stellung und eine schönere Gesellschaft?"

And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans of Quraish who live a life of luxury) say to those who believe (the weak, poor companions of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم who have a hard life): "Which of the two groups (i.e. believers or disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station (place of council for consultation)."

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا

Word by word

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا

Deutsch

Aber wie viele Geschlechter vernichteten Wir vor ihnen, die besser an Ausstattung und Aussehen waren!

And how many a generation (past nations) have We destroyed before them, who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance?

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا

Word by word

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَٰثًا وَرِءْيًا

Deutsch

Sag: Wer sich im Irrtum befindet, den möge der Allerbarmer lange darin gewähren lassen. Wenn sie dann sehen, was ihnen angedroht ist, entweder die Strafe oder die Stunde, da werden sie wissen, wer sich in einer (noch) schlechteren Lage befindet und die schwächere Heerschar hat.

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) whoever is in error, the Most Gracious (Allah) will extend (the rope) to him, until, when they see that which they were promised, either the torment or the Hour, they will come to know who is worst in position, and who is weaker in forces. [This is the answer to the question in Verse No.19:73]

قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِي الضَّلَالَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا الْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا السَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًا

Word by word

قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلضَّلَٰلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَدًّا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًا

Deutsch

Und Allah mehrt denjenigen, die rechtgeleitet sind, ihre Rechtleitung. Das Bleibende aber, die rechtschaffenen Werke - sie sind bei deinem Herrn besser in der Belohnung und besser als Rückkehr.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And Allah increases in guidance those who walk aright. And the righteous good deeds that last, are better with your Lord, for reward and better for resort.

وَيَزِيدُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ اهْتَدَوْا هُدًى ۗ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا

Word by word

وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًى وَٱلْبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا

Deutsch

Was meinst du wohl zu demjenigen, der Unsere Zeichen verleugnet und sagt: "Mir werden ganz gewiß Besitz und Kinder gegeben"?

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Have you seen him who disbelieved in Our Ayat (this Qur'an and Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and said: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children [if I will be alive (again)]."

أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا

Word by word

أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا

Deutsch

Hat er etwa Einblick in das Verborgene gewonnen, oder hat er vom Allerbarmer eine Verpflichtung entgegengenommen?

Has he known the Unseen or has he taken a covenant from the Most Gracious (Allah)?

Arabic, with marks

أَطَّلَعَ الْغَيْبَ أَمِ اتَّخَذَ عِندَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا

Word by word

أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا

Deutsch

Keineswegs! Wir werden aufschreiben, was er sagt, und ihm die Strafe noch verlängern.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Nay, We shall record what he says, and We shall increase his torment (in the Hell);

Arabic, with marks

كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ مَدًّا

Word by word

كَلَّا سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّا

Deutsch

Und Wir erben von ihm das, was er sagt, während er einzeln zu Uns kommt.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And We shall inherit from him (at his death) all that he talks of (i.e. wealth and children which We have bestowed upon him in this world), and he shall come to Us alone.

وَنَرِثُهُ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا

Word by word

وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا

Deutsch

Und sie haben sich anstatt Allahs Götter genommen, damit sie ihnen zu Macht gereichen.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And they have taken (for worship) alihah (gods) besides Allah, that they might give them honour, power and glory (and also protect them from Allah's punishment).

Arabic, with marks

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزًّا

Word by word

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّا

Deutsch

Keineswegs! Sie werden den von ihnen (empfangenen) Dienst verleugnen und werden ihnen Gegner sein.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Nay, but they (the so-called gods) will deny their worship of them, and become opponents to them (on the Day of Resurrection).

كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا

Word by word

كَلَّا سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا

Deutsch

Siehst du nicht, daß Wir die Satane gegen die Ungläubigen gesandt haben, damit sie sie heftig aufreizen?

See you not that We have sent the Shayatin (devils) against the disbelievers to push them to do evil.

Arabic, with marks

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا

Word by word

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا

Deutsch

So wünsche nichts gegen sie zu beschleunigen; Wir zählen ihnen schon (die Tage) ab.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

So make no haste against them; We only count out to them a (limited) number (of the days of the life of this world and delay their term so that they may increase in evil and sins).

فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا

Word by word

فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا

Deutsch

An einem Tag, da Wir die Gottesfürchtigen als eine (geehrte) Abordnung zum Allerbarmer versammeln

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

The Day We shall gather the Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2) unto the Most Gracious (Allah), like a delegation (presented before a king for honour).

Arabic, with marks

يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ الْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًا

Word by word

يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًا

Deutsch

und die Übeltäter, wie eine durstige Herde zur Tränke zur Hölle treiben,

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And We shall drive the Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water).

Arabic, with marks

وَنَسُوقُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا

Word by word

وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا

Deutsch

verfugen sie nicht über die Fürsprache, außer demjenigen, der vom Allerbarmer eine (diesbezügliche) Verpflichtung entgegengenommen hat.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from the Most Gracious (Allah).

لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ الشَّفَاعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِندَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا

Word by word

لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا

Deutsch

Und sie sagen: "Der Allerbarmer hat Sich Kinder genommen."

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And they say: "The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Îsa (Jesus) عليه السلام], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels and others.)]."

وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا

Word by word

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا

Deutsch

Ihr habt ja eine abscheuliche Sache begangen.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing.

Arabic, with marks

لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْئًا إِدًّا

Word by word

لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِدًّا

Deutsch

Beinahe brechen davon die Himmel auseinander, und (beinahe) spaltet sich die Erde, und (beinahe) stürzen die Berge in Trümmern zusammen,

Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins,

تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ الْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ الْجِبَالُ هَدًّا

Word by word

تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا

Deutsch

daß sie dem Allerbarmer Kinder zuschreiben.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

That they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Gracious (Allah).

Arabic, with marks

أَن دَعَوْا لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًا

Word by word

أَن دَعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًا

Deutsch

Es ziemt dem Allerbarmer nicht, Sich Kinder zu nehmen.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Gracious (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children).

Arabic, with marks

وَمَا يَنبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا

Word by word

وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا

Deutsch

Niemand in den Himmeln und auf der Erde wird zum Allerbarmer anders denn als Diener kommen (können).

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious (Allah) as a slave.

Arabic, with marks

إِن كُلُّ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا آتِي الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًا

Word by word

إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًا

Deutsch

Er hat sie erfaßt und sie genau gezählt.

Verily He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting.

لَّقَدْ أَحْصَاهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا

Word by word

لَّقَدْ أَحْصَىٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا

Deutsch

Und sie alle werden zu Ihm am Tag der Auferstehung einzeln kommen.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender).

وَكُلُّهُمْ آتِيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرْدًا

Word by word

وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَرْدًا

Deutsch

Gewiß, denjenigen, die glauben und rechtschaffene Werke tun, wird der Allerbarmer Liebe bereiten.

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)] and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Gracious (Allah) will bestow love for them (in the hearts of the believers).

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا

Word by word

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا

Deutsch

Wir haben ihn eigens leicht gemacht in deiner Sprache, damit du durch ihn den Gottesfürchtigen frohe Botschaft verkündest und durch ihn hartnäckige Leute warnst.

So We have made this (the Qur'an) easy in your own tongue (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), only that you may give glad tidings to the Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2), and warn with it the Ludd (most quarrelsome) people.

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا

Word by word

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا

Deutsch

Und wie viele Geschlechter haben Wir vor ihnen vernichtet! Nimmst du noch irgend jemanden von ihnen wahr, oder hörst du von ihnen noch den geringsten Laut?

And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Can you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) find a single one of them or hear even a whisper of them?
