আল্লাহর আদেশ এসে গেছে, সুতরাং তার জন্য তাড়াহুড়া করো না। তিনি পবিত্র এবং তারা যা শিরক করে, তা থেকে ঊর্ধ্বে।

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم أتى أمر الله فلا تستعجلوه ۚ سبحانه وتعالى عما يشركون
Yusuf Ali
(Inevitable) cometh (to pass) the Command of Allah: seek ye not then to hasten it: Glory to Him, and far is He above having the partners they ascribe unto Him!

তিনি ফেরেশতাদের আপন নির্দেশে ওহী* দিয়ে নাযিল করেন তার বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাকে ইচ্ছা তার প্রতি; যেন তোমরা সতর্ক কর যে, আমি ছাড়া কোন নেই। অতএব, তোমরা আমাকে ভয় কর। * রূহ শব্দের অর্থ আত্মা, ওহীকে রূহ বলা হয় এ কারণে যে, ওহীর মাধ্যমেই মানুষের অন্তর জীবন লাভ

ينزل الملائكة بالروح من أمره على من يشاء من عباده أن أنذروا أنه لا إله إلا أنا فاتقون
Yusuf Ali
He doth send down His angels with inspiration of His Command, to such of His servants as He pleaseth, (saying): "Warn (Man) that there is no god but I: so do your duty unto Me."

তিনি আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন সৃষ্টি করেছেন যথাযথই, তারা যা শরীক করে, তা থেকে তিনি ঊর্ধ্বে।

خلق السماوات والأرض بالحق ۚ تعالى عما يشركون

He has created the heavens and the earth for just ends: Far is He above having the partners they ascribe to Him!
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তিনি মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন ‘নুতফা’* থেকে, অথচ সে প্রকাশ্য বিতন্ডাকারী। * ‘নুতফা’ হচ্ছে নারী ও পুরুষের যৌথ বীর্য, যা ভ্রুণে পরিণত হয়।

خلق الإنسان من نطفة فإذا هو خصيم مبين
Yusuf Ali
He has created man from a sperm - drop; and behold this same (man) becomes an open disputer!

আর চতুষ্পদ জন্তুগুলো তিনি তোমাদের জন্য সৃষ্টি করেছেন তাতে রয়েছে উষ্ণতার উপকরণ ও বিবিধ উপকার। আর তা থেকে তোমরা আহার গ্রহণ কর।

والأنعام خلقها ۗ لكم فيها دفء ومنافع ومنها تأكلون
Yusuf Ali
And cattle He has created for you (men): from them ye derive warmth, and numerous benefits, and of their (meat) ye eat.

আর তোমাদের জন্য তাতে রয়েছে সৌন্দর্য যখন সন্ধ্যায় তা ফিরিয়ে আন এবং সকালে চারণে নিয়ে যাও।

ولكم فيها جمال حين تريحون وحين تسرحون

And ye have a sense of pride and beauty in them as ye drive them home in the evening, and as ye lead them forth to pasture in the morning.

আর এগুলো তোমাদের বোঝা বহন করে এমন দেশে নিয়ে যায়, ভীষণ কষ্ট ছাড়া যেখানে তোমরা পৌঁছতে সক্ষম হতে না। নিশ্চয় তোমাদের রব দয়াশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

وتحمل أثقالكم إلى بلد لم تكونوا بالغيه إلا بشق الأنفس ۚ إن ربكم لرءوف رحيم
Yusuf Ali
And they carry your heavy loads to lands that ye could not (otherwise) reach except with souls distressed: for your Lord is indeed Most Kind, Most Merciful,
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর (তিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন) ঘোড়া, খচ্চর ও গাধা, তোমাদের আরোহণ ও শোভার জন্য এবং তিনি সৃষ্টি করেন এমন কিছু, যা তোমরা জান না।

والخيل والبغال والحمير لتركبوها وزينة ۚ ويخلق ما لا تعلمون
Yusuf Ali
And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge.

আর সঠিক পথ বাতলে দেয়া আল্লাহর দায়িত্ব, এবং পথের মধ্যে কিছু আছে বক্র। আর তিনি যদি ইচ্ছা করতেন তবে তোমাদের সকলকে হিদায়াত করতেন।

وعلى الله قصد السبيل ومنها جائر ۚ ولو شاء لهداكم أجمعين
Yusuf Ali
And unto Allah leads straight the Way, but there are ways that turn aside: if Allah had willed, He could have guided all of you.

তিনিই সে সত্তা, যিনি আসমান থেকে পানি বর্ষণ করেন, যাতে রয়েছে তোমাদের জন্য পানীয় এবং তা থেকে হয় উদ্ভিত, যাতে তোমরা জন্তু চরাও।

هو الذي أنزل من السماء ماء ۖ لكم منه شراب ومنه شجر فيه تسيمون
Yusuf Ali
It is He who sends down rain from the sky: from it ye drink, and out of it (grows) the vegetation on which ye feed your cattle.

তার মাধ্যমে তিনি তোমাদের জন্য উৎপন্ন করেন ফসল, যাইতুন, খেজুর গাছ, আঙ্গুর এবং সকল ফল-ফলাদি। নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে এমন কওমের জন্য, যারা চিন্তা করে।

ينبت لكم به الزرع والزيتون والنخيل والأعناب ومن كل الثمرات ۗ إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يتفكرون
Yusuf Ali
With it He produces for you corn, olives, date - palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought.

আর তিনি তোমাদের জন্য নিয়োজিত করেছেন রাত ও দিনকে এবং সূর্য ও চাঁদকে এবং তারকাসমূহও তাঁর নির্দেশে নিয়োজিত। নিশ্চয় এতে অনেক নিদর্শন রয়েছে এমন কওমের জন্য যারা বুঝে।

وسخر لكم الليل والنهار والشمس والقمر ۖ والنجوم مسخرات بأمره ۗ إن في ذلك لآيات لقوم يعقلون
Yusuf Ali
He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the sun and the moon; and the stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise.

আর তিনি তোমাদের জন্য যমীনে যা সৃষ্টি করেছেন, বিচিত্র রঙের করে, নিশ্চয় তাতেও নিদর্শন রয়েছে এমন কওমের জন্য, যারা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে।

وما ذرأ لكم في الأرض مختلفا ألوانه ۗ إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يذكرون
Yusuf Ali
And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude).

আর তিনিই সে সত্তা, যিনি সমুদ্রকে নিয়োজিত করেছেন, যাতে তোমরা তা থেকে তাজা (মাছের) গোশ্ত খেতে পার এবং তা থেকে বের করতে পার অলংকারাদি, যা তোমরা পরিধান কর। আর তুমি তাতে নৌযান দেখবে তা পানি চিরে চলছে এবং যাতে তোমরা তার অনুগ্রহ অন্বেষণ করতে পার এবং যাতে তোমরা শ

وهو الذي سخر البحر لتأكلوا منه لحما طريا وتستخرجوا منه حلية تلبسونها وترى الفلك مواخر فيه ولتبتغوا من فضله ولعلكم تشكرون
Yusuf Ali
It is He Who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful.

আর যমীনে তিনি স্থাপন করেছেন সুদৃঢ় পর্বতমালা, যাতে তোমাদের নিয়ে যমীন হেলে না যায় এবং নদ-নদী ও পথসমূহ, যাতে তোমরা পথপ্রাপ্ত হও।

وألقى في الأرض رواسي أن تميد بكم وأنهارا وسبلا لعلكم تهتدون
Yusuf Ali
And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves;
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর (দিনের) পথ-নির্দেশক চিহ্নসমূহ, আরা (রাতে) তারকার মাধ্যমে তারা পথ পায়।

وعلامات ۚ وبالنجم هم يهتدون

And marks and sign - posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সুতরাং যে সৃষ্টি করে, সে কি তার মত, যে সৃষ্টি করে না? অতএব তোমরা কি উপদেশ গ্রহণ করবে না?

أفمن يخلق كمن لا يخلق ۗ أفلا تذكرون
Yusuf Ali
Is then He Who creates like one that creates not? Will ye not receive admonition?
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর যদি তোমরা আল্লাহর নিআমত গণনা কর, তবে তার ইয়ত্তা পাবে না। নিশ্চয় ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

وإن تعدوا نعمة الله لا تحصوها ۗ إن الله لغفور رحيم
Yusuf Ali
If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Merciful.

আর জানেন তোমরা যা গোপন কর এবং যা প্রকাশ্যে ঘোষণা কর।

والله يعلم ما تسرون وما تعلنون

And Allah doth know what ye conceal, and what ye reveal.

আর তারা ছাড়া যাদেরকে ডাকে, তারা কিছু সুষ্টি করতে পারে না, বরং তাদেরকেই সৃষ্টি করা হয়।

والذين يدعون من دون الله لا يخلقون شيئا وهم يخلقون

Those whom they invoke besides Allah create nothing and are themselves created.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
(তারা) মৃত, জীবিত নয় এবং তারা জানে না কখন তাদেরকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করা হবে।

أموات غير أحياء ۖ وما يشعرون أيان يبعثون
Yusuf Ali
(They are things) dead, lifeless: nor do they know when they will be raised up.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তোমাদের এক । অতঃপর যারা আখিরাতে বিশ্বাস করে না, তাদের অন্তর অস্বীকারকারী এবং তারা অহঙ্কারী।

إلهكم إله واحد ۚ فالذين لا يؤمنون بالآخرة قلوبهم منكرة وهم مستكبرون
Yusuf Ali
Your Allah is one Allah: as to those who believe not in the Hereafter, their hearts refuse to know, and they are arrogant.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
নিঃসন্দেহে তারা যা গোপন করে এবং যা প্রকাশ্যে ঘোষণা করে, নিশ্চয় তা জানেন। নিশ্চয় তিনি অহঙ্কারীদের পছন্দ করেন না।

لا جرم أن الله يعلم ما يسرون وما يعلنون ۚ إنه لا يحب المستكبرين
Yusuf Ali
Undoubtedly Allah doth know what they conceal, and what they reveal: verily He loveth not the arrogant.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর যখন তাদের বলা হয়, ‘তোমাদের রব কী নাযিল করেছেন’? তারা বলে, ‘পূর্ববর্তীদের কল্পকাহিনী’।

وإذا قيل لهم ماذا أنزل ربكم ۙ قالوا أساطير الأولين
Yusuf Ali
When it is said to them, "What is it that your Lord has revealed?" they say, "Tales of the ancients!"
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
এতে করে তারা কিয়ামতের দিনে নিজদের পাপের বোঝা পুরোটাই বহন করবে এবং তাদের পাপের বোঝাও যাদেরকে তারা অজ্ঞতা হেতু পথভ্রষ্ট করে। তারা যা বহন করবে, তা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট!

ليحملوا أوزارهم كاملة يوم القيامة ۙ ومن أوزار الذين يضلونهم بغير علم ۗ ألا ساء ما يزرون
Yusuf Ali
Let them bear, on the Day of Judgment, their own burdens in full, and also (something) of the burdens of those without knowledge, whom they misled. Alas, how grievous the burdens they will bear!
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তাদের পূর্বে যারা ছিল, তারা ষড়যন্ত্র করেছিল, অতঃপর তাদের দালানের ভীতে আঘাত করেছিলেন, ফলে তাদের উপর থেকে তাদের ছাদ ধ্বসে পড়েছিল। আর তাদের উপর আযাব এসছিল এমনভাবে যে, তারা তা উপলব্ধি করতে পারেনি।

قد مكر الذين من قبلهم فأتى الله بنيانهم من القواعد فخر عليهم السقف من فوقهم وأتاهم العذاب من حيث لا يشعرون
Yusuf Ali
Those before them did also plot (against Allah's Way): but Allah took their structures from their foundations, and the roof fell down on them from above; and the Wrath seized them from directions they did not perceive.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
অতঃপর কিয়ামতের দিন তিনি তাদেরকে লাঞ্ছিত করবেন এবং বলবেন, ‘কোথায় আমার শরীকরা, যাদের ব্যাপারে তোমরা (মুমিনদের) বিরোধীতা করতে’? যাদেরকে জ্ঞান দেয়া হয়েছে, তারা বলবে, ‘নিশ্চয় লাঞ্ছনা ও দুর্গতি আজ কাফিরদের উপর।’

ثم يوم القيامة يخزيهم ويقول أين شركائي الذين كنتم تشاقون فيهم ۚ قال الذين أوتوا العلم إن الخزي اليوم والسوء على الكافرين
Yusuf Ali
Then, on the Day of Judgment, He will cover them with shame, and say: "Where are My 'partners' concerning whom ye used to dispute (with the godly)?" Those endued with knowledge will say: "This Day, indeed, are the Unbelievers covered with shame and misery, -
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
নিজদের উপর যুলমকারী থাকা অবস্থায় ফেরেশতারা যাদের মৃত্যু ঘটাবে। অতঃপর তারা আত্মসমর্পণ করে বলবে, ‘আমরা কোন পাপ করতাম না।’ হ্যাঁ, নিশ্চয় তোমরা যা করতে সে বিষয়ে সম্যক জ্ঞাত।

الذين تتوفاهم الملائكة ظالمي أنفسهم ۖ فألقوا السلم ما كنا نعمل من سوء ۚ بلى إن الله عليم بما كنتم تعملون
Yusuf Ali
"(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of wrong - doing to their own souls." Then would they offer submission (with the pretence), "We did no evil (knowingly)." (The angels will reply), "Nay, but verily Allah knoweth all that ye did;
فادخلوا أبواب جهنم خالدين فيها ۖ فلبئس مثوى المتكبرين
Yusuf Ali
"So enter the gates of Hell, to dwell therein. Thus evil indeed is the abode of the arrogant."
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর যারা তাকওয়ার অবলম্বন করেছে, তাদের বলা হল, ‘তোমাদের রব কী নাযিল করেছেন’? তারা বলল, ‘কল্যাণ’। যারা এই দুনিয়ায় উত্তম কাজ করেছে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে পুণ্য। আর নিশ্চয় আখিরাতের আবাস উত্তম এবং মুত্তাকীদের আবাস কতইনা উত্তম!

۞ وقيل للذين اتقوا ماذا أنزل ربكم ۚ قالوا خيرا ۗ للذين أحسنوا في هذه الدنيا حسنة ۚ ولدار الآخرة خير ۚ ولنعم دار المتقين
Yusuf Ali
To the righteous (when) it is said, "What is it that your Lord has revealed?" they say, "All that is good." To those who do good, there is good in this world, and the Home of the Hereafter is even better and excellent indeed is the Home of the righteous, -

স্থায়ী জান্নাতসমূহ যাতে তারা প্রবেশ করবে, যার তলদেশে প্রবাহিত হচ্ছে নহরসমূহ। তারা চাইবে, তাদের জন্য তার মধ্যে তাই থাকবে। এভাবেই মুত্তাকীদের প্রতিদান দেন।

جنات عدن يدخلونها تجري من تحتها الأنهار ۖ لهم فيها ما يشاءون ۚ كذلك يجزي الله المتقين
Yusuf Ali
Gardens of Eternity which they will enter: beneath them flow (pleasant) rivers: they will have therein all that they wish: thus doth Allah reward the righteous, -
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
ফেরেশতারা যাদের মৃত্যু ঘটায় উত্তম অবস্থায়, তারা বলে, ‘তোমাদের উপর সালাম। জান্নাতে প্রবেশ কর, যে আমল তোমরা করতে তার কারণে।

الذين تتوفاهم الملائكة طيبين ۙ يقولون سلام عليكم ادخلوا الجنة بما كنتم تعملون
Yusuf Ali
(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of purity, saying (to them), "Peace be on you; enter ye the Garden, because of (the good) which ye did (in the world)."

তারা শুধু ফেরেশতা আসার অপেক্ষা করছে অথবা তোমার রবের সিদ্ধান্ত আসার। এমনি করেছিল তারা, যারা তাদের পূর্বে ছিল। আর তাদের উপর যুলম করেননি, বরং তারাই নিজদের উপর যুলম করেছিল।

هل ينظرون إلا أن تأتيهم الملائكة أو يأتي أمر ربك ۚ كذلك فعل الذين من قبلهم ۚ وما ظلمهم الله ولكن كانوا أنفسهم يظلمون
Yusuf Ali
Do the (ungodly) wait until the angels come to them, or there comes the Command of thy Lord (for their doom)? So did those who went before them. But Allah wronged them not: nay, they wronged their own souls.

সুতরাং তারা যা করেছে, তার খারাপ পরিণতি তাদেরকে আক্রান্ত করেছে এবং তারা যা নিয়ে উপহাস করত, তা তাদেরকে ঘিরে ফেলেছে।

فأصابهم سيئات ما عملوا وحاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزئون

But the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and that very (Wrath) at which they had scoffed hemmed them in.

আর যারা শিরক করেছে, তারা বলল, যদি চাইতেন তবে আমরা তাকে ছাড়া কোন কিছুর ইবাদাত করতাম না এবং আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষরাও না। আর তার বিপরীতে তো আমরা কোন কিছু হারাম করতাম না। এমনিই করেছে, যারা তাদের পূর্বে ছিল। সুতরাং স্পষ্টভাবে পৌঁছে দেয়া ছাড়া রাসূলদের কি কোন

وقال الذين أشركوا لو شاء الله ما عبدنا من دونه من شيء نحن ولا آباؤنا ولا حرمنا من دونه من شيء ۚ كذلك فعل الذين من قبلهم ۚ فهل على الرسل إلا البلاغ المبين
Yusuf Ali
The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers, - nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message?

আর আমি অবশ্যই প্রত্যেক জাতিতে একজন রাসূল প্রেরণ করেছি যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর ইবাদাত কর এবং পরিহার কর তাগূতকে। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্য থেকে কাউকে হিদায়াত দিয়েছেন এবং তাদের মধ্য থেকে কারো উপর পথভ্রষ্টতা সাব্যস্ত হয়েছে। সুতরাং তোমরা যমীনে ভ্রমণ কর অতঃপর দেখ, অস্ব

ولقد بعثنا في كل أمة رسولا أن اعبدوا الله واجتنبوا الطاغوت ۖ فمنهم من هدى الله ومنهم من حقت عليه الضلالة ۚ فسيروا في الأرض فانظروا كيف كان عاقبة المكذبين
Yusuf Ali
For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth).

যদিও তুমি তাদের হিদায়াতের ব্যাপারে আকাঙ্ক্ষা কর, তবু নিশ্চয় যাকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেন, তাকে হিদায়াত দেন না এবং তাদের জন্য কোন সাহায্যকারী নেই।

إن تحرص على هداهم فإن الله لا يهدي من يضل ۖ وما لهم من ناصرين
Yusuf Ali
If thou art anxious for their guidance, yet Allah guideth not such as He leaves to stray, and there is none to help them.

আর তারা আল্লাহর নামে কঠিন শপথ করেছেন যে, যে ব্যক্তি মারা যায়. তাকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করবেন না। হ্যাঁ, তার নিজের উপরে করা ওয়াদা তিনি সত্যে রূপ দেবেন; কিন্তু অধিকাংশ মানুষই জানে না।

وأقسموا بالله جهد أيمانهم ۙ لا يبعث الله من يموت ۚ بلى وعدا عليه حقا ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون
Yusuf Ali
They swear their strongest oaths by Allah, that Allah will not raise up those who die: Nay, but it is a promise (binding) on Him in truth: but most among mankind realise it not.

যাতে তিনি তাদের জন্য স্পষ্ট করেন, যা নিয়ে তারা মতবিরোধ করে। আর যারা করেছে, যেন তারা জানতে পারে যে, নিশ্চয় তারা ছিল মিথ্যাবাদী।

ليبين لهم الذي يختلفون فيه وليعلم الذين كفروا أنهم كانوا كاذبين
Yusuf Ali
(They must be raised up), in order that He may manifest to them the truth of that wherein they differ, and that the rejecters of Truth may realise that they had indeed (surrendered to) Falsehood.

যখন আমি কোন কিছুর ইচ্ছা করি, তখন আমার কথা হয় কেবল এই বলা যে, ‘হও’, ফলে তা হয়ে যায়।

إنما قولنا لشيء إذا أردناه أن نقول له كن فيكون

For to anything which We have willed, We but say the word, "Be", and it is.

আর যারা হিজরত করেছে আল্লাহর রাস্তায় অত্যাচারিত হওয়ার পর, আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে দুনিয়াতে উত্তম আবাস দান করব। আর আখিরাতের প্রতিদান তো বিশাল, যদি তারা জানত।

والذين هاجروا في الله من بعد ما ظلموا لنبوئنهم في الدنيا حسنة ۖ ولأجر الآخرة أكبر ۚ لو كانوا يعلمون
Yusuf Ali
To those who leave their homes in the cause of Allah, after suffering oppression, - We will assuredly give a goodly home in this world; but truly the reward of the Hereafter will be greater. If they only realised (this)!

الذين صبروا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون

(They are) those who persevere in patience, and put their trust on their Lord.

وما أرسلنا من قبلك إلا رجالا نوحي إليهم ۚ فاسألوا أهل الذكر إن كنتم لا تعلمون
Yusuf Ali
And before thee also the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
(তাদের প্রেরণ করেছি) স্পষ্ট প্রমাণাদি ও কিতাবসমূহ এবং তোমার প্রতি নাযিল করেছি কুরআন, যাতে তুমি মানুষের জন্য স্পষ্ট করে দিতে পার, যা তাদের প্রতি নাযিল হয়েছে। আর যাতে তারা চিন্তা করে।
(We sent them) with Clear Signs and Books of dark prophecies; and We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought.

যারা মন্দের ষড়যন্ত্র করে তারা কি নিরাপদ হয়ে গেছে যে, তাদেরসহ মাটিকে ধ্বসিয়ে দেবেন না। অথবা তাদের উপর আসবে না, আযাব এমনভাবে যে, তারা উপলব্ধি করবে না?

أفأمن الذين مكروا السيئات أن يخسف الله بهم الأرض أو يأتيهم العذاب من حيث لا يشعرون
Yusuf Ali
Do then those who devise evil (plots) feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them up, or that the Wrath will not seize them from directions they little perceive? -

অথবা তিনি তাদের চলাফেরার ভেতর তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করবেন না? বস্তুত তারা (আল্লাহকে) পরাস্তকারী নয়।

أو يأخذهم في تقلبهم فما هم بمعجزين

Or that He may not call them to account in the midst of their goings to and fro, without a chance of their frustrating Him? -

কিংবা তিনি তাদেরকে ভীত অবস্থায় পাকড়াও করবেন না? নিশ্চয় তোমাদের রব অতিশয় দয়াশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

أو يأخذهم على تخوف فإن ربكم لرءوف رحيم

Or that He may not call them to account by a process of slow wastage - for thy Lord is indeed full of kindness and mercy.

যে সকল বস্তু সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তারা কি সে দিকে তাকায়নি, যার ছায়াসমূহ ডানে ও বামে হেলে পড়ে আল্লাহর জন্য সিজাদারত অবস্থায়, আর তারা একান্ত বিনীত?

أولم يروا إلى ما خلق الله من شيء يتفيأ ظلاله عن اليمين والشمائل سجدا لله وهم داخرون

Do they not look at Allah's creation, (even) among (inanimate) things, - How their (very) shadows turn round, from the right and the left, prostrating themselves to Allah, and that in the humblest manner?

আর আল্লাহকেই সিজদা করে আসমানসমূহে যা আছে এবং যমীনে যে প্রাণী আছে, আর ফেরেশতারা এবং তারা অহঙ্কার করে না।

ولله يسجد ما في السماوات وما في الأرض من دابة والملائكة وهم لا يستكبرون

And to Allah doth obeisance all that is in the heavens and on earth, whether moving (living) creatures or the angels: for none are arrogant (before their Lord).

তারা তাদের উপরস্থ রবকে ভয় করে এবং তাদেরকে যা নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়, তারা তা করে।[সাজদাহ]

يخافون ربهم من فوقهم ويفعلون ما يؤمرون ۩

They all revere their Lord, high above them, and they do all that they are commanded.

আর বলেছেন, ‘তোমরা দুই গ্রহণ করো না। তিনি তো কেবল এক । সুতরাং তোমরা আমাকেই ভয় কর।’

۞ وقال الله لا تتخذوا إلهين اثنين ۖ إنما هو إله واحد ۖ فإياي فارهبون
Yusuf Ali
Allah has said: "Take not (for worship) two gods: for He is just One Allah: then fear Me (and Me alone)."

আর আসমানসমূহ ও যমীনে যা আছে, তা তারই এবং সার্বক্ষণিক আনুগত্য তারই। অতএব তোমরা কি ছাড়া অন্যকে ভয় করবে?

وله ما في السماوات والأرض وله الدين واصبا ۚ أفغير الله تتقون

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and on earth, and to Him is duty due always: then will ye fear other than Allah?

আর তোমাদের কাছ যে সব নিআমত আছে, তা আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে। অতঃপর দুঃখ-দুর্দশা যখন তোমাদের স্পর্শ করে তখন তোমরা শুধু তার কাছেই ফরিয়াদ কর।

وما بكم من نعمة فمن الله ۖ ثم إذا مسكم الضر فإليه تجأرون

And ye have no good thing but is from Allah: and moreover, when ye are touched by distress, unto Him ye cry with groans;

তারপর যখন তিনি তোমাদের থেকে দুঃখ-দুর্দশা দূর করে দেন, তখন তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে একটি দল তাদের রবের সাথে শিরক করে।

ثم إذا كشف الضر عنكم إذا فريق منكم بربهم يشركون

Yet, when He removes the distress from you, behold! some of you turn to other gods to join with their Lord -

যাতে আমি তাদেরকে যা দিয়েছি তা তারা অস্বীকার করতে পারে। অতএব তোমরা ভোগ কর, অচিরেই তোমরা জানতে পারবে।

(As if) to show their ingratitude for the favours we have bestowed on them! then enjoy (your brief day): but soon will ye know (your folly)!

আর আমি তাদেরকে যে রিয্ক দিয়েছি, তার একটি অংশ তারা নির্ধারণ করে এমন সত্তার জন্য, যার ব্যাপারে তারা জানে না। আল্লাহর কসম! তোমাদেরকে অবশ্যই জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে, তোমরা যে মিথ্যা রটাচ্ছ সে ব্যাপারে।

ويجعلون لما لا يعلمون نصيبا مما رزقناهم ۗ تالله لتسألن عما كنتم تفترون
Yusuf Ali
And they (even) assign, to things they do not know, a portion out of that which We have bestowed for their sustenance! By Allah, ye shall certainly be called to account for your false inventions.

আর তারা আল্লাহর জন্য কন্যা সন্তান নির্দিষ্ট করে। তিনি পবিত্র এবং নিজেদের জন্য তা (নির্দিষ্ট করে) যা তারা পছন্দ করে।

ويجعلون لله البنات سبحانه ۙ ولهم ما يشتهون
Yusuf Ali
And they assign daughters for Allah! - Glory be to Him! - and for themselves (sons, - the issue) they desire!

আর যখন তাদের কাউকে কন্যা সন্তানের সুসংবাদ দেয়া হয়; তখন তার চেহারা কালো হয়ে যায়। আর সে থাকে দুঃখ ভারাক্রান্ত।

وإذا بشر أحدهم بالأنثى ظل وجهه مسودا وهو كظيم

When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!

তাকে যে সংবাদ দেয়া হয়েছে, সে দুঃখে সে কওম থেকে আত্মগোপন করে। আপমান সত্ত্বেও কি একে রেখে দেবে, না মাটিতে পুঁতে ফেলবে? জেনে রেখ, তারা যা ফয়সালা করে, তা কতই না মন্দ!

يتوارى من القوم من سوء ما بشر به ۚ أيمسكه على هون أم يدسه في التراب ۗ ألا ساء ما يحكمون
Yusuf Ali
With shame does he hide himself from his people, because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain it on (sufferance and) contempt, or bury it in the dust? Ah! what an evil (choice) they decide on?

যারা আখিরাতে বিশ্বাস করে না, তাদের জন্য মন্দ উদাহরণ এবং আল্লাহর জন্য রয়েছে মহান উদাহরণ। আর তিনিই পরাক্রমশালী, মহাজ্ঞানী।

للذين لا يؤمنون بالآخرة مثل السوء ۖ ولله المثل الأعلى ۚ وهو العزيز الحكيم

To those who believe not in the Hereafter, applies the similitude of evil: to Allah applies the highest similitude: for He is the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

আর যদি মানবজাতিকে তাদের যুলমের কারণে পাকড়াও করতেন, তবে তাতে (যমীনে) কোনো বিচরণকারী প্রাণীকেই ছাড়তেন না। তবে তাদেরকে একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর্যন্ত অবকাশ দেন। যখন তাদের নির্দিষ্ট সময় চলে আসে, তখন এক মুহূর্তও পেছাতে পারে না, এবং আগাতেও পারে না।

ولو يؤاخذ الله الناس بظلمهم ما ترك عليها من دابة ولكن يؤخرهم إلى أجل مسمى ۖ فإذا جاء أجلهم لا يستأخرون ساعة ۖ ولا يستقدمون
Yusuf Ali
If Allah were to punish men for their wrong - doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour).

আর তারা যা অপছন্দ করে, তাই তারা আল্লাহর জন্য নির্ধারণ করে। তাদের জিহবা মিথ্যা বিবরণ দেয় যে, নিশ্চয় তাদের জন্য শুভ পরিণাম। সন্দেহ নেই যে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে আগুন এবং নিশ্চয় তারা সর্বাগ্রে নিক্ষিপ্ত হবে।

ويجعلون لله ما يكرهون وتصف ألسنتهم الكذب أن لهم الحسنى ۖ لا جرم أن لهم النار وأنهم مفرطون

They attribute to Allah what they hate (for themselves), and their tongues assert the falsehood that all good things are for themselves: without doubt for them is the Fire, and they will be the first to be hastened on into it!

আল্লাহর শপথ, আমি তোমার পূর্বে বহু জাতির নিকট রাসূল প্রেরণ করেছি। অতঃপর শয়তান তাদের জন্য তাদের কর্মকে শোভিত করেছে। তাই আজ সে তাদের অভিভাবক। আর তাদের জন্য রয়েছে যন্ত্রনাদায়ক আযাব।

تالله لقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فزين لهم الشيطان أعمالهم فهو وليهم اليوم ولهم عذاب أليم

By Allah, We (also) sent (Our messengers) to Peoples before thee; but Satan made, (to the wicked), their own acts seem alluring: He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty.

আর আমি তোমার উপর কিতাব নাযিল করেছি, শুধু এ জন্য যে, যে বিষয়ে তারা বিতর্ক করছে, তা তাদের জন্য তুমি স্পষ্ট করে দেবে এবং (এটি) হিদায়াত ও রহমত সেই কওমের জন্য যারা ঈমান আনে।

وما أنزلنا عليك الكتاب إلا لتبين لهم الذي اختلفوا فيه ۙ وهدى ورحمة لقوم يؤمنون

And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe.

আকাশ হতে বারি বর্ষণ করেন এবং তদ্বারা তিনি ভূমিকে ওর মৃত্যুর পর পুনর্জীবিত করেন। অবশ্যই এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে যে সম্প্রদায় কথা শোনে তাদের জন্য।

والله أنزل من السماء ماء فأحيا به الأرض بعد موتها ۚ إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يسمعون

And Allah sends down rain from the skies, and gives therewith life to the earth after its death: verily in this is a Sign for those who listen.

আর নিশ্চয় চতুষ্পদ জন্তুতে রয়েছে তোমাদের জন্য শিক্ষা। তার পেটের ভেতরের গোবর ও রক্তের মধ্যখান থেকে তোমাদেরকে আমি দুধ পান করাই, যা খাঁটি এবং পানকারীদের জন্য স্বাচ্ছ্যন্দকর।

وإن لكم في الأنعام لعبرة ۖ نسقيكم مما في بطونه من بين فرث ودم لبنا خالصا سائغا للشاربين
Yusuf Ali
And verily in cattle (too) will ye find an instructive sign. From what is within their bodies between excretions and blood, We produce, for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it.

আর তোমরা খেজুর গাছের ফল ও আঙ্গুর থেকে মাদক* ও উত্তম রিয্ক গ্রহণ কর। নিশ্চয় এতে এমন কওমের জন্য নিদর্শন রয়েছে, যারা বুঝে। * ইমাম তাবারী বলেন, আয়াতটি মাদক নিষিদ্দ হওয়ার পূর্বে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে।

ومن ثمرات النخيل والأعناب تتخذون منه سكرا ورزقا حسنا ۗ إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يعقلون
Yusuf Ali
And from the fruit of the date - palm and the vine, ye get out wholesome drink and food: behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর তোমার রব মৌমাছিকে ইংগিতে জানিয়েছে যে, ‘তুমি পাহাড়ে ও গাছে এবং তারা যে গৃহ নির্মাণ করে তাতে নিবাস বানাও।’

وأوحى ربك إلى النحل أن اتخذي من الجبال بيوتا ومن الشجر ومما يعرشون
Yusuf Ali
And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations;

অতঃপর তুমি প্রত্যেক ফল থেকে আহার কর এবং তুমি তোমার রবের সহজ পথে চল। তার পেট থেকে এমন পানীয় বের হয়, যার রং ভিন্ন ভিন্ন, যাতে রয়েছে মানুষের জন্য রোগ নিরাময়। নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে সে কওমের জন্য, যারা চিন্তা করে।

ثم كلي من كل الثمرات فاسلكي سبل ربك ذللا ۚ يخرج من بطونها شراب مختلف ألوانه فيه شفاء للناس ۗ إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يتفكرون
Yusuf Ali
Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.

আর তোমাদের সৃষ্টি করেছেন, অতঃপর তিনি তোমাদের মৃত্যু ঘটাবেন। তোমাদের অনেকে এমনও আছে, যাকে একেবারে বৃদ্ধ বয়সে উপনীত করা হয়, যাতে সে জ্ঞান লাভের পরেও সবকিছু অজানা হয়ে যায়। সর্বজ্ঞ, সর্বশক্তিমান।

والله خلقكم ثم يتوفاكم ۚ ومنكم من يرد إلى أرذل العمر لكي لا يعلم بعد علم شيئا ۚ إن الله عليم قدير
Yusuf Ali
It is Allah who creates you and takes your souls at death; and of you there are some who are sent back to a feeble age, so that they know nothing after having known (much): for Allah is All - Knowing, All - Powerful.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর রিয্ক তোমাদের কতককে কতকের উপর প্রাধান্য দিয়েছেন; কিন্তু যাদেরকে প্রাধান্য দেয়া হয়েছে, তারা তাদের রিয্ক দাসদাসীদের ফিরিয়ে দেয় না। (এই ভয়ে যে,) তারা তাতে সমান হয়ে যাবে। তবে তারা কি আল্লাহর নিআমতকে অস্বীকার করছে?

والله فضل بعضكم على بعض في الرزق ۚ فما الذين فضلوا برادي رزقهم على ما ملكت أيمانهم فهم فيه سواء ۚ أفبنعمة الله يجحدون
Yusuf Ali
Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others: those more favoured are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess, so as to be equal in that respect. Will they then deny the favours of Allah?

আর তোমাদের জন্য তোমাদের থেকে জোড়া সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তোমাদের জোড়া থেকে তোমাদের জন্য পুত্র ও নাতিদের সৃষ্টি করেছেন আর তিনি তোমারেদকে পবিত্র রিয্ক দান করেছেন তারা কি বাতিলে বিশ্বাস করে এবং আল্লাহর নিআমতকে অস্বীকার করে?

والله جعل لكم من أنفسكم أزواجا وجعل لكم من أزواجكم بنين وحفدة ورزقكم من الطيبات ۚ أفبالباطل يؤمنون وبنعمت الله هم يكفرون
Yusuf Ali
And Allah has made for you mates (and companions) of your own nature, and made for you, out of them, sons and daughters and grandchildren, and provided for you sustenance of the best: will they then believe in vain things, and be ungrateful for Allah's favours? -

আর তারা ছাড়া এমন কিছুর উপাসনা করে, যারা আসমানসমূহ ও যমীনে তাদের কোন রিযকের মালিক নয় এবং হতেও পারবে না।

ويعبدون من دون الله ما لا يملك لهم رزقا من السماوات والأرض شيئا ولا يستطيعون
Yusuf Ali
And worship others than Allah, - such as have no power of providing them, for sustenance, with anything in heavens or earth, and cannot possibly have such power?

সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহর জন্য অন্য কোন দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করো না। নিশ্চয় জানেন আর তোমরা জান না।

فلا تضربوا لله الأمثال ۚ إن الله يعلم وأنتم لا تعلمون
Yusuf Ali
Invent not similitudes for Allah: for Allah knoweth, and ye know not.

উপমা পেশ করেছেন; একজন অধিনস্ত দাস যে কোন কিছুর উপর ক্ষমতা রাখে না। আর একজন যাকে আমি আমার পক্ষ থেকে উত্তম রিযক দিয়েছি, অতঃপর সে তা থেকে গোপনে ও প্রকাশ্যে ব্যয় করে। তারা কি সমান হতে পারে? সমস্ত প্রশংসা আল্লা্হর। বরং তাদের অধিকাংশই জানে না।

۞ ضرب الله مثلا عبدا مملوكا لا يقدر على شيء ومن رزقناه منا رزقا حسنا فهو ينفق منه سرا وجهرا ۖ هل يستوون ۚ الحمد لله ۚ بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون
Yusuf Ali
Allah sets forth the Parable (of two men: one) a slave under the dominion of another; He has no power of any sort; and (the other) a man on whom We have bestowed goodly favours from Ourselves, and he spends thereof (freely), privately and publicly: are the two equal? (By no means;) praise be to Allah. But most of them understand not.

আর উপমা পেশ করেছেন, দু’জন ব্যক্তি, তাদের একজন বোবা, যে কোন কিছুর উপর ক্ষমতা রাখে না এবং সে তার অভিভাবকের উপর বোঝা। তাকে যেখানেই পাঠানো হয়, কোন কল্যাণ বয়ে আনতে পারে না। সে আর ঐ ব্যক্তি কি সমান, যে ন্যায়ের আদেশ করে এবং রয়েছে সরল পথের উপর?

وضرب الله مثلا رجلين أحدهما أبكم لا يقدر على شيء وهو كل على مولاه أينما يوجهه لا يأت بخير ۖ هل يستوي هو ومن يأمر بالعدل ۙ وهو على صراط مستقيم

Allah sets forth (another) Parable of two men: one of them dumb, with no power of any sort; a wearisome burden is he to his master; whichever way be directs him, he brings no good: is such a man equal with one who commands Justice, and is on a Straight Way?

আর আসমানসমূহ ও যমীনে গায়েবী বিষয় আল্লাহরই। আর কিয়ামতের ব্যাপারটি শুধু চোখের পলকের ন্যায়। কিংবা তা আরো নিকটবর্তী। নিশ্চয় সব কিছুর উপর ক্ষমতাবান।

ولله غيب السماوات والأرض ۚ وما أمر الساعة إلا كلمح البصر أو هو أقرب ۚ إن الله على كل شيء قدير
Yusuf Ali
To Allah belongeth the Mystery of the heavens and the earth. And the Decision of the Hour (of Judgment) is as the twingkling of an eye, or even quicker: for Allah hath power over all things.

আর তোমাদেরকে বের করেছেন, তোমাদের মাতৃগর্ভ থেকে এমতাবস্থায় যে, তোমরা কিছুই জানতে না। তিনি তোমাদের জন্য সৃষ্টি করেছেন শ্রবণশক্তি, চক্ষু ও অন্তর। যাতে তোমরা শুকরিয়া আদায় কর।

والله أخرجكم من بطون أمهاتكم لا تعلمون شيئا وجعل لكم السمع والأبصار والأفئدة ۙ لعلكم تشكرون
Yusuf Ali
It is He Who brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers when ye knew nothing; and He gave you hearing and sight and intelligence and affections: that ye may give thanks (to Allah).

তারা কি আকাশে (উড়ন্ত অবস্থায়) নিয়োজিত পাখিগুলোর দিকে তাকায় না? ছাড়া কেউ তাদেরকে ধরে রাখে না। নিশ্চয় তাতে নিদর্শনবলী রয়েছে সেই কওমের জন্য যারা বিশ্বাস করে।

ألم يروا إلى الطير مسخرات في جو السماء ما يمسكهن إلا الله ۗ إن في ذلك لآيات لقوم يؤمنون

It is Allah Who made your habitations homes of rest and quiet for you; and made for you, out of the skins of animals, (tents for) dwellings, which ye find so light (and handy) when ye travel and when ye stop (in your travels); and out of their wool, and their soft fibres (between wool and hair), and their hair, rich stuff and articles of convenience (to serve you) for a time.

والله جعل لكم مما خلق ظلالا وجعل لكم من الجبال أكنانا وجعل لكم سرابيل تقيكم الحر وسرابيل تقيكم بأسكم ۚ كذلك يتم نعمته عليكم لعلكم تسلمون

It is Allah Who made out of the things He created, some things to give you shade; of the hills He made some for your shelter; He made you garments to protect you from heat, and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He complete His favours on you, that ye may bow to His Will (in Islam).

One Day We shall raise from all Peoples a Witness: then will no excuse be accepted from Unbelievers, nor will they receive any favours.

আর যা যুলম করেছে, তারা যখন আযাব দেখবে, তখন তাদের উপর থেকে তা শিথিল করা হবে না এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।

When the wrong - doers (actually) see the Penalty, then will it in no way be mitigated, nor will they then receive respite.

আর যারা শিরক করেছে, তারা যখন তাদের শরীকদের দেখবে, তখন বলবে, ‘হে আমাদের রব, এরা হল আমাদের শরীক, যাদেরকে আমরা আপনার পরিবর্তে আহবান করতাম।’ অতঃপর তারা তাদের প্রতি উত্তরে বলবে, ‘নিশ্চয় তোমরা মিথ্যাবাদী।’

وإذا رأى الذين أشركوا شركاءهم قالوا ربنا هؤلاء شركاؤنا الذين كنا ندعو من دونك ۖ فألقوا إليهم القول إنكم لكاذبون
Yusuf Ali
When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!"

সেদিন তারা আল্লাহর প্রতি আনুগত্য পেশ করবে এবং তারা যে মিথ্যা রটাত, তা উধাও হয়ে যাবে।

That Day shall they (openly) show (their) submission to Allah; and all their inventions shall leave them in the lurch.

Those who reject Allah and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah - for them will We add Penalty to Penalty; for that they used to spread mischief.

ويوم نبعث في كل أمة شهيدا عليهم من أنفسهم ۖ وجئنا بك شهيدا على هؤلاء ۚ ونزلنا عليك الكتاب تبيانا لكل شيء وهدى ورحمة وبشرى للمسلمين

One day We shall raise from all Peoples a witness against them, from amongst themselves: and We shall bring thee as a witness against these (thy people): and We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things, a Guide, a Mercy, and Glad Tidings to Muslims.

Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may receive admonition.

Yusuf Ali
And be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun, after it has become strong. Nor take your oaths to practise deception between yourselves, lest one party should be more numerous than another: for Allah will test you by this; and on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear to you (the truth of) that wherein ye disagree.

If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions.

আর তোমরা তোমাদের অঙ্গীকারগুলোকে তোমাদের প্রতারণা হিসেবে গ্রহণ করো না। তাহলে পা দৃঢ় হওয়ার পর পিছলে যাবে এবং তোমরা আযাব আস্বাদন করবে। কারণ তোমরা আল্লাহর রাস্তায় বাধা দিয়েছ। আর তোমাদের জন্য রয়েছে মহা আযাব।

ولا تتخذوا أيمانكم دخلا بينكم فتزل قدم بعد ثبوتها وتذوقوا السوء بما صددتم عن سبيل الله ۖ ولكم عذاب عظيم
Yusuf Ali
And take not your oaths, to practise deception between yourselves, with the result that someone's foot may slip after it was firmly planted, and ye may have to taste the evil (consequences) of having hindered (men) from the Path of Allah, and a Mighty Wrath descend on you.

আর তোমরা স্বল্প মূল্যে আল্লাহর অঙ্গীকার বিক্রি করো না। আল্লাহর কাছে যা আছে, তোমাদের জন্যই তাই উত্তম, যদি তোমরা জানতে।

Nor sell the covenant of Allah for a miserable price: for with Allah is (a prize) far better for you, if ye only knew.

What is with you must vanish: what is with Allah will endure. And We will certainly bestow, on those who patiently persevere, their reward according to the best of their actions.

Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.

When We substitute one revelation for another, - and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages), - they say, "Thou art but a forger": but most of them understand not.

Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief, - except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty.

But verily thy Lord, - to those who leave their homes after trials and persecutions, - and who thereafter strive and fight for the faith and patiently persevere, - Thy Lord, after all this is oft - forgiving, Most Merciful.

(স্মরণ কর সে দিনের কথা) যেদিন প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি নিজের পক্ষে যুক্তি-তর্ক নিয়ে উপস্থিত হবে এবং প্রত্যেককে ব্যক্তি সে যা আমল করেছে তা পরিপূর্ণরূপে দেয়া হবে এবং তাদের প্রতি যুলম করা হবে না।

۞ يوم تأتي كل نفس تجادل عن نفسها وتوفى كل نفس ما عملت وهم لا يظلمون

One Day every soul will come up struggling for itself, and every soul will be recompensed (fully) for all its actions, and none will be unjustly dealt with.

আর উপমা পেশ করছেন, একটি জনপদ, যা ছিল নিরাপদ ও শান্ত। সবদিক থেকে তার রিয্ক তাতে বিপুলভাবে আসত। অতঃপর সে (জনপদ) আল্লাহর নিআমত অস্বীকার করল। তখন তারা যা করত তার কারণে তাকে ক্ষুধা ও ভয়ের পোশাক পরালেন।

وضرب الله مثلا قرية كانت آمنة مطمئنة يأتيها رزقها رغدا من كل مكان فكفرت بأنعم الله فأذاقها الله لباس الجوع والخوف بما كانوا يصنعون

Allah sets forth a Parable: a city enjoying security and quiet, abundantly supplied with sustenance from every place: Yet was it ungrateful for the favours of Allah: so Allah made it taste of hunger and terror (in extremes) (closing in on it) like a garment (from every side), because of the (evil) which (its people) wrought.

আর অবশ্যই তাদের কাছে, তাদের মধ্য থেকে একজন রাসূল এসেছিল। তারপর তারা তাকে অস্বীকার করেছিল। ফলে আযাব তাদের পাকড়াও করেছিল এমতাবস্থায় যে, তারা ছিল যুলমকারী।

ولقد جاءهم رسول منهم فكذبوه فأخذهم العذاب وهم ظالمون

And there came to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they falsely rejected him; so the Wrath seized them even in the midst of their iniquities.

অতএব তোমাদেরকে যে হালাল উত্তম রিয্ক দিয়েছেন, তোমরা তা থেকে আহার কর এবং আল্লাহর নিয়ামতের শুকরিয়া আদায় কর, যদি তোমরা তারই ইবাদাত করে থাক।

إنما حرم عليكم الميتة والدم ولحم الخنزير وما أهل لغير الله به ۖ فمن اضطر غير باغ ولا عاد فإن الله غفور رحيم

He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, - then Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Merciful.

ولا تقولوا لما تصف ألسنتكم الكذب هذا حلال وهذا حرام لتفتروا على الله الكذب ۚ إن الذين يفترون على الله الكذب لا يفلحون

But say not - for any false thing that your tongues may put forth, - "This is lawful, and this is forbidden," so as to ascribe false things to Allah. For those who ascribe false things to Allah, will never prosper.

To the Jews We prohibited such things as We have mentioned to thee before: We did them no wrong, but they were used to doing wrong to themselves.

Abraham was indeed a model, devoutly obedient to Allah, (and) true in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah:

The Sabbath was only made (strict) for those who disagreed (as to its observance); But Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment, as to their differences.

Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.

وإن عاقبتم فعاقبوا بمثل ما عوقبتم به ۖ ولئن صبرتم لهو خير للصابرين

And if ye do catch them out, catch them out no worse than they catch you out: But if ye show patience, that is indeed the best (course) for those who are patient.
