Chapter 84, 25 verses
যখন আসমান ফেটে যাবে।
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. When the heaven is split asunder,
Itha alssamao inshaqqat
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
আর তার রবের নির্দেশ পালন করবে এবং এটাই তার করণীয়।
And listens to and obeys its Lord - and it must do so.
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
আর যখন যমীনকে সম্প্রসারিত করা হবে।
And when the earth is stretched forth,
Waitha alardu muddat
وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
আর তার মধ্যে যা রয়েছে তা নিক্ষেপ করবে এবং খালি হয়ে যাবে।
And has cast out all that was in it and became empty.
Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
আর তার রবের নির্দেশ পালন করবে এবং এটাই তার করণীয়।
And listens to and obeys its Lord - and it must do so.
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
হে মানুষ, তোমার রব পর্যন্ত (পৌঁছতে) অবশ্যই তোমাকে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে হবে। অতঃপর তুমি তাঁর সাক্ষাৎ পাবে।
O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, and you will meet (the results of your deeds which you did).
Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehi
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ
অতঃপর যাকে তার আমলনামা তার ডান হাতে দেয়া হবে;
Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand,
Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
অত্যন্ত সহজভাবেই তার হিসাব-নিকাশ করা হবে।
He surely will receive an easy reckoning,
Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeran
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
আর সে তার পরিবার-পরিজনের কাছে আনন্দিত হয়ে ফিরে যাবে।
And will return to his family in joy!
Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
আর যাকে তার আমলনামা পিঠের পেছনে দেয়া হবে,
But whosoever is given his Record behind his back,
Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihi
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ
অতঃপর সে ধ্বংস আহবান করতে থাকবে।
He will invoke (for his) destruction,
Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
আর সে জ্বলন্ত আগুনে প্রবেশ করবে।
And he shall enter a blazing Fire, and be made to taste its burning.
Wayasla saAAeeran
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
নিশ্চয় সে তার পরিবার-পরিজনদের মধ্যে আনন্দে ছিল।
Verily, he was among his people in joy!
Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
নিশ্চয় সে মনে করত যে, সে কখনো ফিরে যাবে না।
Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)!
Innahu thanna an lan yahoora
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
হ্যাঁ, নিশ্চয় তার রব তার প্রতি সম্যক দৃষ্টি দানকারী।
Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him!
Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran
بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
অতঃপর আমি কসম করছি পশ্চিম আকাশের লালিমার।
So I swear by the afterglow of sunset;
Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
আর রাতের কসম এবং রাত যা কিছুর সমাবেশ ঘটায় তার।
And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness,
Waallayli wama wasaqa
وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
আর চাঁদের কসম, যখন তা পরিপূর্ণ হয়।
And by the moon when it is at the full.
Waalqamari itha ittasaqa
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
অবশ্যই তোমরা এক স্তর থেকে অন্য স্তরে আরোহণ করবে।
You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter).
Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
অতএব তাদের কী হল যে, তারা ঈমান আনছে না?
What is the matter with them, that they believe not?
Fama lahum la yuminoona
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
আর যখন তাদের কাছে কুরআন তিলাওয়াত করা হয় তখন তারা সিজদা করে না।[সাজদাহ]
And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they fall not prostrate.
Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoona
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ
বরং কাফিররা অস্বীকার করে।
Nay, those who disbelieve belie (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and whatever he brought, i.e. this Qur'an and Islamic Monotheism, etc.).
Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
আর তারা যা অন্তরে পোষণ করে তা সবিশেষ পরিজ্ঞাত।
And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds),
WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoona
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
অতএব তুমি তাদেরকে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাবের সুসংবাদ দাও।
So announce to them a painful torment.
Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
কিন্তু যারা ঈমান আনে এবং সৎকর্ম করে তাদের জন্য রয়েছে নিরবচ্ছিন্ন প্রতিদান।
Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise).
Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
