Chapter 19, 98 verses
কাফ-হা-ইয়া-‘আঈন-সোয়াদ।
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ كهيعص
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Kaf-Ha-Ya-'Ain-Sad. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
এটা তোমার রবের রহমতের বিবরণ তাঁর বান্দা যাকারিয়্যার প্রতি।
ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُ زَكَرِيَّا
(This is) a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His slave Zakariyya (Zachariah).
যখন সে তার রবকে গোপনে ডেকেছিল।
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ نِدَاءً خَفِيًّا
When he called out his Lord (Allah) a call in secret.
সে বলেছিল, ‘হে আমার রব! আমার হাড়গুলো দুর্বল হয়ে গেছে এবং বার্ধক্যবশতঃ আমার মাথার চুলগুলো সাদা হয়ে গেছে। হে আমার রব, আপনার নিকট দো‘আ করে আমি কখনো ব্যর্থ হইনি’।
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُن بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا
He said: "My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble, and grey hair has spread on my head, And I have never been unblest in my invocation to You, O my Lord!
‘আর আমার পরে স্বগোত্রীয়দের সম্পর্কে আমি আশংকাবোধ করছি। আমার স্ত্রী তো বন্ধ্যা, অতএব আপনি আমাকে আপনার পক্ষ থেকে একজন উত্তরাধিকারী দান করুন’।
وَإِنِّي خِفْتُ الْمَوَالِيَ مِن وَرَائِي وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا
"And verily I fear my relatives after me, and my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir.
‘যে আমার উত্তরাধিকারী হবে এবং ইয়াকূবের বংশের উত্তরাধিকারী হবে। হে আমার রব, আপনি তাকে পছন্দনীয় বানিয়ে দিন’।
يَرِثُنِي وَيَرِثُ مِنْ آلِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَاجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا
"Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of Ya'qub (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not of wealth.). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-Pleased!"
( বললেন) ‘হে যাকারিয়্যা, আমি তোমাকে একটি পুত্র সন্তানের সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছি, তার নাম ইয়াহইয়া। ইতিপূর্বে কাউকে আমি এ নাম দেইনি’।
يَا زَكَرِيَّا إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ اسْمُهُ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا
(Allah said) "O Zakariyya (Zachariah)! Verily, We give you the glad tidings of a son, whose name will be Yahya (John). We have given that name to none before (him)."
সে বলল, ‘হে আমার রব, কিভাবে আমার পুত্র সন্তান হবে, আমার স্ত্রী তো বন্ধ্যা, আর আমিও তো বার্ধক্যের শেষ পর্যায়ে পৌঁছে গিয়েছি’।
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا
He said: "My Lord! How can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have reached the extreme old age."
সে (ফেরেশতা) বলল, ‘এভাবেই’। তোমার রব বলেছেন, ‘এটা আমার জন্য সহজ। আমি তো ইতঃপূর্বে তোমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছি, তখন তুমি কিছুই ছিলে না’।
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْئًا
He said: "So (it will be). Your Lord says: It is easy for Me. Certainly I have created you before, when you had been nothing!"
সে বলল, ‘হে আমার রব, আমার জন্য একটি নিদর্শন ঠিক করে দিন’। তিনি বললেন, ‘তোমার জন্য এটাই নিদর্শন যে, তুমি সুস্থ থেকেও তিন রাত কারো সাথে কথা বলবে না’।
قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَل لِّي آيَةً ۚ قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا
[Zakariyya (Zachariah)] said: "My Lord! Appoint for me a sign." He said: "Your sign is that you shall not speak unto mankind for three nights, though having no bodily defect."
অতঃপর সে মিহরাব হতে বেরিয়ে তার লোকদের সামনে আসল এবং ইশারায় তাদেরকে বলল যে, ‘তোমরা সকাল ও সন্ধ্যায় তাসবীহ পাঠ কর’।
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِنَ الْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
Then he came out to his people from Al-Mihrab (a praying place or a private room), and he told them by signs to glorify Allah's Praises in the morning and in the afternoon.
‘হে ইয়াহইয়া, তুমি কিতাবটিকে দৃঢ়ভাবে আঁকড়ে ধর’। আমি তাকে শৈশবেই প্রজ্ঞা* দান করেছি। * এখানে ‘হুকম’ বলতে হিকমাত বা প্রজ্ঞা বুঝানো হয়েছে। কারো মতে, তা হল ইলম ও আমল। কেউ বলেছেন, নবুওয়াত বা আকল। ইমাম শওকানী বলেন, উল্লেখিত প্রতিটি বিষয় ‘হুকম’ দ্বারা উদ্দেশ্য হ
يَا يَحْيَىٰ خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا
(It was said to his son): "O Yahya (John)! Hold fast the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]." And We gave him wisdom while yet a child.
আর আমার পক্ষ থেকে তাকে স্নেহ-মমতা ও পবিত্রতা দান করেছি এবং সে ছিল।
وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَاةً ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا
And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous,
আর সে ছিল তার পিতা-মাতার সাথে সদাচারী, আর ছিল না অহংকারী, অবাধ্য।
وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا
And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents).
আর তার উপর শান্তি, যেদিন সে জন্মেছে এবং যেদিন সে মারা যাবে আর যেদিন তাকে জীবিত অবস্থায় উঠানো হবে।
وَسَلَامٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
And Salam (peace) be on him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)!
আর স্মরণ কর এই কিতাবে মারইয়ামকে যখন সে তার পরিবারবর্গ থেকে পৃথক হয়ে পূর্ব দিকের কোন এক স্থানে চলে গেল।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ انتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'an, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم the story of) Maryam (Mary), when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east.
আর সে তাদের নিকট থেকে (নিজকে) আড়াল করল। তখন আমি তার নিকট আমার রূহ (জিবরীল) কে প্রেরণ করলাম। অতঃপর সে তার সামনে পূর্ণ মানবের রূপ ধারণ করল।
فَاتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا
She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh [angel Jibril (Gabriel)], and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects.
মারইয়াম বলল, ‘আমি তোমার থেকে পরম করুণাময়ের আশ্রয় চাচ্ছি, যদি তুমি হও’।
قَالَتْ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا
She said: "Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Gracious (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah."
সে বলল, ‘আমি তো কেবল তোমার রবের বার্তাবাহক, তোমাকে একজন পবিত্র পুত্রসন্তান দান করার জন্য এসেছি’।
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَامًا زَكِيًّا
(The angel) said: "I am only a messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."
মারইয়াম বলল, ‘কিভাবে আমার পুত্র সন্তান হবে? অথচ কোন মানুষ আমাকে স্পর্শ করেনি। আর আমি তো ব্যভিচারিণীও নই’।
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا
She said: "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?"
সে বলল, ‘এভাবেই। তোমার রব বলেছেন, এটা আমার জন্য সহজ। আর যেন আমি তাকে করে দেই মানুষের জন্য নিদর্শন এবং আমার পক্ষ থেকে রহমত। আর এটি একটি সিদ্ধান্তকৃত বিষয়’।
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُ آيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا
He said: "So (it will be), your Lord said: 'That is easy for Me (Allah): And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allah).' "
তারপর সে তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করল এবং তা নিয়ে দূরবর্তী একটি স্থানে চলে গেল।
۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَانتَبَذَتْ بِهِ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place (i.e. Bethlehem valley about 4-6 miles from Jerusalem).
অতঃপর প্রসব-বেদনা তাকে খেজুর গাছের কান্ডের কাছে নিয়ে এলো। সে বলল, ‘হায়! এর আগেই যদি আমি মরে যেতাম এবং সম্পূর্ণরূপে বিস্মৃত হতাম’!
فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: "Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!"
তখন তার নিচ থেকে সে তাকে ডেকে বলল যে, ‘তুমি চিন্তা করো না। তোমার রব তোমার নিচে একটি ঝর্ণা সৃষ্টি করেছেন’।
فَنَادَاهَا مِن تَحْتِهَا أَلَّا تَحْزَنِي قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا
Then [the babe 'Îsa (Jesus) or Jibril (Gabriel)] cried unto her from below her, saying: "Grieve not: your Lord has provided a water stream under you.
‘আর তুমি খেজুর গাছের কান্ড ধরে তোমার দিকে নাড়া দাও, তাহলে তা তোমার উপর তাজা-পাকা খেজুর ফেলবে’।
وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا
"And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you."
‘অতঃপর তুমি খাও, পান কর এবং চোখ জুড়াও। আর যদি তুমি কোন লোককে দেখতে পাও তাহলে বলে দিও, ‘আমি পরম করুণাময়ের জন্য চুপ থাকার মানত করেছি। অতএব আজ আমি কোন মানুষের সাথে কিছুতেই কথা বলব না’।
فَكُلِي وَاشْرَبِي وَقَرِّي عَيْنًا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ الْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِي إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ الْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا
"So eat and drink and be glad. And if you see any human being, say: 'Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allah) so I shall not speak to any human being this day.'"
তারপর সে তাকে কোলে নিয়ে নিজ কওমের নিকট আসল। তারা বলল, ‘হে মারইয়াম! তুমি তো এক অদ্ভূত বিষয় নিয়ে এসেছ’!
فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ ۖ قَالُوا يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا
Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariyy (a mighty thing). [Tafsir Al-Tabari]
‘হে হারূনের বোন! তোমার পিতা তো খারাপ লোক ছিল না। আর তোমার মা-ও ছিল না ব্যভিচারিণী’।
يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا
"O sister (i.e. the like) of Harun (Aaron) ! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your mother was an unchaste woman."
তখন সে শিশুটির দিকে ইশারা করল। তারা বলল, ‘যে কোলের শিশু আমরা কিভাবে তার সাথে কথা বলব’?
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِي الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا
Then she pointed to him. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle? "
শিশুটি বলল, ‘আমি তো আল্লাহর বান্দা; তিনি আমাকে কিতাব দিয়েছেন এবং আমাকে নবী বানিয়েছেন’।
قَالَ إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ آتَانِيَ الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيًّا
"He ['Îsa (Jesus)] said: "Verily I am a slave of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet; "
‘আর যেখানেই আমি থাকি না কেন তিনি আমাকে বরকতময় করেছেন এবং যতদিন আমি জীবিত থাকি তিনি আমাকে ও যাকাত আদায় করতে আদেশ করেছেন’।
وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَانِي بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا
"And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat, as long as I live."
‘আর আমাকে মায়ের প্রতি অনুগত করেছেন এবং তিনি আমাকে অহঙ্কারী, অবাধ্য করেননি’।
وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا
"And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.
‘আর আমার উপর শান্তি, যেদিন আমি জন্মেছি এবং যেদিন আমি মারা যাব আর যেদিন আমাকে জীবিত অবস্থায় উঠানো হবে’।
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
"And Salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"
এই হচ্ছে মারইয়াম পুত্র ঈসা। এটাই সঠিক বক্তব্য, যে বিষয়ে লোকেরা সন্দেহ পোষণ করছে।
ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ الْحَقِّ الَّذِي فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
Such is 'Îsa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). (It is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute).
সন্তান গ্রহণ করা আল্লাহর কাজ নয়। তিনি পবিত্র-মহান। তিনি যখন কোন বিষয়ের সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করেন তখন তদুদ্দেশ্যে শুধু বলেন, ‘হও’, অমনি তা হয়ে যায়।
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ ۖ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ
It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son [this refers to the slander of Christians against Allah, by saying that 'Îsa (Jesus) is the son of Allah]. Glorified (and Exalted) be He (above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it: "Be!" - and it is.
আর নিশ্চয় আমার রব এবং তোমাদের রব। সুতরাং তোমরা তাঁর ইবাদাত কর। এটাই সরল পথ।
وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
['Îsa (Jesus) said]: "And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets)." [Tafsir At-Tabari]
এরপর তাদের মধ্য থেকে বিভিন্ন দল মতভেদ করল। কাজেই মহাদিবস প্রত্যক্ষকালে কাফিরদের ধ্বংস অনিবার্য।
فَاخْتَلَفَ الْأَحْزَابُ مِن بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Then the sects differed [i.e. the Christians about 'Îsa (Jesus) عليه السلام], so woe unto the disbelievers [those who gave false witness by saying that 'Îsa (Jesus) is the son of Allah] from the Meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire) .
যেদিন তারা আমার কাছে আসবে সেদিন তারা কতই না স্পষ্টভাবে শুনতে পাবে এবং দেখতে পাবে! কিন্তু যালিমরা আজ স্পষ্ট ভ্রষ্টতার মধ্যে রয়েছে।
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَٰكِنِ الظَّالِمُونَ الْيَوْمَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
How clearly will they (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) see and hear the Day when they will appear before Us! But the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) today are in plain error.
আর তাদেরকে সতর্ক করে দাও পরিতাপ দিবস সম্পর্কে যখন সব বিষয়ের চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত হয়ে যাবে, অথচ তারা রয়েছে উদাসীনতায় বিভোর এবং তারা ঈমান আনছে না।
وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
And warn them (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not .
নিশ্চয় আমি যমীন ও এর উপরে যা রয়েছে তার চূড়ান্ত মালিক হব* এবং আমারই নিকট তাদের ফিরিয়ে আনা হবে। * চূড়ান্ত ওয়ারিস বলতে বুঝানো হয়েছে চূড়ান্ত মালিক অর্থাৎ সব কিছু ধ্বংস হয়ে যাওয়ার পর একমাত্র আল্লাহই থাকবেন এবং সবকিছু থাকবে তাঁর মালিকানাধীন।
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ الْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
Verily We will inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon. And to Us they all shall be returned,
আর স্মরণ কর এই কিতাবে ইবরাহীমকে। নিশ্চয় সে ছিল পরম সত্যবাদী, নবী।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'an) Ibrahim (Abraham). Verily he was a man of truth, a Prophet.
যখন সে তার পিতাকে বলল, ‘হে আমার পিতা, তুমি কেন তার ইবাদাত কর যে না শুনতে পায়, না দেখতে পায় এবং না তোমার কোন উপকারে আসতে পারে’?
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنكَ شَيْئًا
When he said to his father: "O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not, sees not and cannot avail you in anything?
‘হে আমার পিতা! আমার কাছে এমন জ্ঞান এসেছে যা তোমার কাছে আসেনি, সুতরাং আমার অনুসরণ কর, তাহলে আমি তোমাকে সঠিক পথ দেখাব’।
يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي قَدْ جَاءَنِي مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا
"O my father! Verily there has come to me of the knowledge that which came not unto you. So follow me, I will guide you to the Straight Path.
‘হে আমার পিতা, তুমি শয়তানের ইবাদাত করো না। নিশ্চয় শয়তান হল পরম করুণাময়ের অবাধ্য’।
يَا أَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَصِيًّا
"O my father! Worship not Shaitan (Satan). Verily Shaitan (Satan) has been a rebel against the Most Gracious (Allah).
‘হে আমার পিতা, আমি আশংকা করছি যে, পরম করুণাময়ের (পক্ষ থেকে) তোমাকে আযাব স্পর্শ করবে, ফলে তুমি শয়তানের সঙ্গী হয়ে যাবে।’
يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيًّا
"O my father! Verily I fear lest a torment from the Most Gracious (Allah) should overtake you, so that you become a companion of Shaitan (Satan) (in the Hell-fire)." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi]
সে বলল, ‘হে ইবরাহীম, তুমি কি আমার উপাস্যদের থেকে বিমুখ? যদি তুমি বিরত না হও, তবে অবশ্যই আমি তোমাকে পাথর মেরে হত্যা করব। আর তুমি চিরতরে আমাকে ছেড়ে যাও’।* * ইবনে আব্বাসের মতে এ আয়াতের অর্থ হল তুমি আমার কাছ থেকে নিরাপদে সরে যাও। কেউ কেউ এ আয়াতের অর্থে বলেছে
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ آلِهَتِي يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَاهْجُرْنِي مَلِيًّا
He (the father) said: "Do you reject my gods, O Ibrahim (Abraham)? If you stop not (this), I will indeed stone you. So get away from me safely (before I punish you)."
ইবরাহীম বলল, ‘তোমার প্রতি সালাম। আমি আমার রবের কাছে তোমার জন্য ক্ষমা চাইব। নিশ্চয় তিনি আমার প্রতি বড়ই অনুগ্রহশীল’।
قَالَ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِي حَفِيًّا
Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "Peace be on you! I will ask Forgiveness of my Lord for you. Verily He is unto me Ever Most Gracious.
‘আর আমি তোমাদের ও ছাড়া যাদের ইবাদাত তোমরা কর তাদের পরিত্যাগ করছি এবং আমি আমার রবের ইবাদাত করছি। আশা করি আমার রবের ইবাদাত করে আমি ব্যর্থ হব না’।
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَأَدْعُو رَبِّي عَسَىٰ أَلَّا أَكُونَ بِدُعَاءِ رَبِّي شَقِيًّا
"And I shall turn away from you and from those whom you invoke besides Allah. And I shall call upon my Lord and I hope that I shall not be unblest in my invocation to my Lord."
অতঃপর যখন সে তাদেরকে এবং ছাড়া যাদের তারা ইবাদাত করত তাদের সবাইকে পরিত্যাগ করল, তখন আমি তাকে দান করলাম ইসহাক ও ইয়া‘কূব এবং তাদের প্রত্যেককে নবী করলাম।
فَلَمَّا اعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا
So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet.
আর আমি তাদেরকে আমার অনুগ্রহ দান করলাম আর তাদের সুনাম সুখ্যাতিকে সমুচ্চ করলাম।
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا
And We gave them of Our Mercy (a good provision in plenty), and We granted them honour on the tongues (of all the nations, i.e. everybody remembers them with a good praise).
আর স্মরণ কর এই কিতাবে মূসাকে। অবশ্যই সে ছিল মনোনীত এবং সে ছিল রাসূল, নবী।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مُوسَىٰ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (this Qur'an) Musa (Moses). Verily he was chosen and he was a Messenger (and) a Prophet.
আমি তাকে তূর পর্বতের ডান দিক থেকে ডেকেছিলাম এবং অন্তরঙ্গ আলাপের উদ্দেশ্যে তাকে আমার নিকটবর্তী করেছিলাম।
وَنَادَيْنَاهُ مِن جَانِبِ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَاهُ نَجِيًّا
And We called him from the right side of the Mount, and made him draw near to Us for a talk with him [Musa (Moses)].
আর আমি স্বীয় অনুগ্রহে তার জন্য তার ভাই হারূনকে নবীরূপে দান করলাম।
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَا أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ نَبِيًّا
And We granted him his brother Harun (Aaron), (also) a Prophet, out of Our Mercy.
আর স্মরণ কর এই কিতাবে ইসমাঈলকে। সে ছিল সত্যিকারের ওয়াদা পালনকারী এবং সে ছিল রাসূল, নবী।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'an) Isma'il (Ishmael). Verily he was true to what he promised, and he was a Messenger, (and) a Prophet.
আর সে তার পরিবার-পরিজনকে ও যাকাতের নির্দেশ দিত এবং সে ছিল তার রবের সন্তোষপ্রাপ্ত।
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِ مَرْضِيًّا
And he used to enjoin on his family and his people As-Salat (the prayers) and the Zakat and his Lord was pleased with him.
আর স্মরণ কর এই কিতাবে ইদরীসকে। সে ছিল পরম সত্যনিষ্ঠ নবী।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'an) Idris (Enoch).Verily he was a man of truth, (and) a Prophet.
আর আমি তাকে উচ্চ মর্যাদায় সমুন্নত করেছিলাম।
وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
And We raised him to a high station.
এরাই সে সব নবী, আদম সন্তানের মধ্য থেকে যাদের উপর অনুগ্রহ করেছেন এবং যাদের আমি নূহের সাথে নৌকায় আরোহণ করিয়েছিলাম। আর ইবরাহীম ও ইসরাঈলের বংশোদ্ভূত এবং যাদেরকে আমি পথ প্রদর্শন করেছিলাম ও মনোনীত করেছিলাম। যখন তাদের কাছে পরম করুণাময়ের আয়াতসমূহ পাঠ করা হ
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ آدَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْرَائِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَاجْتَبَيْنَا ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩
Those were they unto whom Allah bestowed His Grace from among the Prophets, of the offspring of Adam, and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Nuh (Noah), and of the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham) and Israel, and from among those whom We guided and chose. When the Verses of the Most Gracious (Allah) were recited unto them, they fell down prostrate and weeping.
তাদের পরে আসল এমন এক অসৎ বংশধর যারা বিনষ্ট করল এবং কুপ্রবৃত্তির অনুসরণ করল। সুতরাং শীঘ্রই তারা জাহান্নামের শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করবে।
۞ فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up As-Salat (the prayers) [i.e. made their Salat (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell.
তবে তারা নয় যারা তাওবা করেছে, ঈমান এনেছে এবং সৎকর্ম করেছে; তারাই জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে এবং তাদের প্রতি কোন যুলম করা হবে না।
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا
Except those who repent and believe (in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and work righteousness. Such will enter Paradise and they will not be wronged in aught.
তা চিরস্থায়ী জান্নাত, যার ওয়াদা পরম করুণাময় তাঁর বান্দাদের দিয়েছেন গায়েবের সাথে। নিশ্চয় তাঁর ওয়াদাকৃত বিষয় অবশ্যম্ভাবী।
جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُ بِالْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَأْتِيًّا
(They will enter) 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), which the Most Gracious (Allah) has promised to His slaves in the Unseen: Verily His Promise must come to pass.
তারা সেখানে ‘শান্তি’ ছাড়া কোন অর্থহীন কথা শুনবে না এবং সেখানে সকাল-সন্ধ্যায় তাদের জন্য থাকবে তাদের রিয্ক।
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَامًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
They shall not hear therein (in Paradise) any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk), but only Salam (salutations of peace). And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and afternoon. [See (V.40:55)].
সেই জান্নাত, আমি যার উত্তরাধিকারী বানাব আমার বান্দাদের মধ্যে তাদেরকে যারা ।
تِلْكَ الْجَنَّةُ الَّتِي نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا
Such is the Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our slaves who have been Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2).
(জিবরীল বলল) ‘আর আমরা আপনার রবের নির্দেশ ছাড়া অবতরণ করি না। যা আমাদের সামনে আছে, আর যা আছে আমাদের পিছনে এবং যা রয়েছে এতদোভয়ের মধ্যে, সব তাঁরই মালিকানাধীন। আর আপনার রব ভুলে যান না।
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
And we (angels) descend not except by the Command of your Lord (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two; and your Lord is never forgetful -
তিনি আসমানসমূহ, যমীন ও এতদোভয়ের মধ্যে যা আছে তার রব। সুতরাং তাঁর ইবাদাত কর এবং তাঁরই ইবাদাতে ধৈর্যশীল থাক। তুমি কি তাঁর সমতুল্য কাউকে জান?
رَّبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَاعْبُدْهُ وَاصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَادَتِهِ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيًّا
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, so worship Him (Alone) and be constant and patient in His worship. Do you know of any who is similar to Him? (of course none is similar or co-equal or comparable to Him, and He has none as partner with Him). [There is nothing like Him and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer].
আর মানুষ বলে, ‘আমার মৃত্যু হলে আমাকে কি জীবিত অবস্থায় উত্থিত করা হবে?’
وَيَقُولُ الْإِنسَانُ أَإِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا
And man (the ) says: "When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?"
মানুষ কি স্মরণ করে না যে, আমি তাকে পূর্বে সৃষ্টি করেছি অথচ সে কিছুই ছিল না?
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ الْإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْئًا
Does not man remember that We created him before, while he was nothing?
অতএব তোমার রবের কসম, আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে ও শয়তানদেরকে সমবেত করব, অতঃপর জাহান্নামের চারপাশে নতজানু অবস্থায় তাদেরকে হাযির করব।
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَالشَّيَاطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا
So by your Lord, surely, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Shayatin (devils) (with them), then We shall bring them round Hell on their knees.
তারপর প্রত্যেক দল থেকে পরম করুণাময়ের বিরুদ্ধে সর্বাধিক অবাধ্যকে আমি টেনে বের করবই।
ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ عِتِيًّا
Then indeed We shall drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against the Most Gracious (Allah).
উপরন্তু আমি সর্বাধিক ভাল জানি তাদের সম্পর্কে, যারা জাহান্নামে দগ্ধীভূত হবার অধিকতর যোগ্য।
ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِالَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا
Then, verily, We know best those who are most worthy of being burnt therein.
আর তোমাদের প্রত্যেককেই তা অতিক্রম করতে হবে, এটি তোমার রবের চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত।
وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا
There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell): this is with your Lord; a Decree which must be accomplished.
তারপর আমি এদেরকে মুক্তি দেব যারা তাকওয়া অবলম্বন করেছে। আর যালিমদেরকে আমি সেখানে রেখে দেব নতজানু অবস্থায়।
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوا وَّنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا
Then We shall save those who used to fear Allah and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell).
আর যখন তাদের কাছে আমার আয়াতসমূহ সুস্পষ্টরূপে পাঠ করা হয়, তখন কাফিররা ঈমানদারদেরকে বলে, ‘দুই দলের মধ্যে কোন্টি মর্যাদায় শ্রেষ্ঠতর এবং মজলিস হিসেবে উত্তম?’
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans of Quraish who live a life of luxury) say to those who believe (the weak, poor companions of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم who have a hard life): "Which of the two groups (i.e. believers or disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station (place of council for consultation)."
আর তাদের পূর্বে আমি কত প্রজন্ম ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি যারা সাজ-সরঞ্জাম ও বাহ্যদৃষ্টিতে শ্রেষ্ঠ ছিল!
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا
And how many a generation (past nations) have We destroyed before them, who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance?
বল, ‘যে বিভ্রান্তিতে রয়েছে তাকে পরম করুণাময় প্রচুর অবকাশ দেবেন, যতক্ষণ না তারা যে বিষয়ে তাদের প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয়া হয়েছে তা প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, চাই তা আযাব হোক অথবা কিয়ামত। তখন তারা জানতে পারবে কে মর্যাদায় নিকৃষ্ট ও দলবলে দুর্বল।
قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِي الضَّلَالَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا الْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا السَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًا
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) whoever is in error, the Most Gracious (Allah) will extend (the rope) to him, until, when they see that which they were promised, either the torment or the Hour, they will come to know who is worst in position, and who is weaker in forces. [This is the answer to the question in Verse No.19:73]
আর যারা সঠিক পথে চলে তাদের হিদায়াত বৃদ্ধি করেন আর স্থায়ী সৎকর্মসমূহ তোমার রবের কাছে পুরস্কার প্রাপ্তির দিক দিয়ে শ্রেষ্ঠ এবং পরিণতি হিসেবেও শ্রেষ্ঠ।
وَيَزِيدُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ اهْتَدَوْا هُدًى ۗ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا
And Allah increases in guidance those who walk aright. And the righteous good deeds that last, are better with your Lord, for reward and better for resort.
তুমি কি সেই ব্যক্তিকে দেখেছ* যে আমার আয়াতসমূহ অস্বীকার করে এবং বলে, ‘আমাকে অবশ্যই ধন-সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততি দেয়া হবে।’ * উল্লিখিত আয়াত ক’টি ‘আস ইবন ওয়ায়েল সম্পর্কে নাযিল হয়। তাঁর কাছে খাববাব ইবনুল আরাত (রা.)এর কিছু ঋণ পাওনা ছিল। তা চাইতে গেলে সে তা প্রত্য
أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا
Have you seen him who disbelieved in Our Ayat (this Qur'an and Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and said: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children [if I will be alive (again)]."
সে কি সম্পর্কে অবহিত হয়েছে, না পরম করুণাময়ের কাছ থেকে কোন প্রতিশ্রুতি গ্রহণ করেছে?
أَطَّلَعَ الْغَيْبَ أَمِ اتَّخَذَ عِندَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
Has he known the Unseen or has he taken a covenant from the Most Gracious (Allah)?
কখনো নয়, সে যা বলে আমি তা লিখে রাখব এবং তার আযাব বাড়াতেই থাকব।
كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ مَدًّا
Nay, We shall record what he says, and We shall increase his torment (in the Hell);
আর সে যা বলে আমি তার অধিকারী হব এবং আমার কাছে সে একাকী আসবে।
وَنَرِثُهُ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا
And We shall inherit from him (at his death) all that he talks of (i.e. wealth and children which We have bestowed upon him in this world), and he shall come to Us alone.
আর তারা ছাড়া বহু ‘’ গ্রহণ করেছে, যাতে ওরা তাদের সাহায্যকারী হতে পারে।
وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزًّا
And they have taken (for worship) alihah (gods) besides Allah, that they might give them honour, power and glory (and also protect them from Allah's punishment).
কখনো নয়, এরা তাদের ইবাদাতের কথা অস্বীকার করবে এবং তাদের বিপক্ষ হয়ে যাবে।
كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا
Nay, but they (the so-called gods) will deny their worship of them, and become opponents to them (on the Day of Resurrection).
তুমি কি লক্ষ্য করনি যে, আমি কাফিরদের জন্য শয়তানদেরকে ছেড়ে দিয়েছি; ওরা তাদেরকে বিশেষভাবে প্ররোচিত করে?
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا
See you not that We have sent the Shayatin (devils) against the disbelievers to push them to do evil.
সুতরাং তাদের ব্যাপারে তুমি তাড়াহুড়া করো না; আমি তো কেবল তাদের জন্য নির্ধারিত কাল গণনা করছি,
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا
So make no haste against them; We only count out to them a (limited) number (of the days of the life of this world and delay their term so that they may increase in evil and sins).
যেদিন পরম করুণাময়ের নিকট মুত্তাকীদেরকে সম্মানিত মেহমানরূপে সমবেত করব,
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ الْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًا
The Day We shall gather the Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2) unto the Most Gracious (Allah), like a delegation (presented before a king for honour).
আর অপরাধীদেরকে তৃষ্ণার্ত অবস্থায় জাহান্নামের দিকে হাঁকিয়ে নিয়ে যাব।
وَنَسُوقُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا
And We shall drive the Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water).
যারা পরম করুণাময়ের কাছ থেকে প্রতিশ্রুতি নিয়েছে তারা ছাড়া অন্য কেউ সুপারিশ করার ক্ষমতা রাখবে না।
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ الشَّفَاعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِندَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from the Most Gracious (Allah).
আর তারা বলে, ‘পরম করুণাময় সন্তান গ্রহণ করেছেন।’
وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا
And they say: "The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Îsa (Jesus) عليه السلام], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels and others.)]."
অবশ্যই তোমরা এক জঘন্য বিষয়ের অবতারণা করেছ।
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْئًا إِدًّا
Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing.
এতে আসমানসমূহ ফেটে পড়ার, যমীন বিদীর্ণ হওয়ার এবং পাহাড়সমূহ চূর্ণ-বিচূর্ণ হয়ে পড়ে যাওয়ার উপক্রম হবে।
تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ الْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ الْجِبَالُ هَدًّا
Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins,
কারণ তারা পরম করুণাময়ের সন্তান আছে বলে দাবী করে।
أَن دَعَوْا لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًا
That they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Gracious (Allah).
অথচ সন্তান গ্রহণ করা পরম করুণাময়ের জন্য শোভনীয় নয়।
وَمَا يَنبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Gracious (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children).
আসমান ও যমীনে এমন কেউ নেই, যে বান্দা হিসেবে পরম করুণাময়ের কাছে হাযির হবে না।
إِن كُلُّ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا آتِي الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًا
There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious (Allah) as a slave.
তিনি তাদের সংখ্যা জানেন এবং তাদেরকে যথাযথভাবে গণনা করে রেখেছেন।
لَّقَدْ أَحْصَاهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا
Verily He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting.
আর কিয়ামতের দিন তাদের সকলেই তাঁর কাছে আসবে একাকী।
وَكُلُّهُمْ آتِيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرْدًا
And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender).
নিশ্চয় যারা ঈমান আনে এবং সৎ কাজ করে পরম করুণাময় অবশ্যই তাদের জন্য (বান্দাদের হৃদয়ে) ভালবাসা সৃষ্টি করবেন।
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا
Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)] and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Gracious (Allah) will bestow love for them (in the hearts of the believers).
আর আমি তো তোমার ভাষায় কুরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি, যাতে তুমি এর দ্বারা মুত্তাকীদেরকে সুসংবাদ দিতে পার এবং কলহপ্রিয় কওমকে তদ্বারা সতর্ক করতে পার।
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا
So We have made this (the Qur'an) easy in your own tongue (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), only that you may give glad tidings to the Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2), and warn with it the Ludd (most quarrelsome) people.
আর তাদের পূর্বে কত প্রজন্মকে আমি ধ্বংস করেছি! তুমি কি তাদের কাউকে দেখতে পাও, কিংবা শুনতে পাও তাদের কোন ক্ষীণ আওয়াজ?
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًا
And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Can you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) find a single one of them or hear even a whisper of them?
