বিষয়বস্তুর
কারণে এই সূরাটির নামকরণ করা হয়েছে আল-ফাতিহা। ফাতিহা হল সেই জিনিস যা
কোন বিষয় বা বই বা অন্য কোন জিনিস খুলে দেয়। অন্য কথায়, আল-ফাতিহা হল এক
ধরণের ভূমিকা।
প্রকাশের সময়কাল
সূরা
আল-ফাতিহা মহানবী (সা.)-এর নিকট অতিপ্রাথমিক ওহীগুলির মধ্যে একটি।
প্রকৃতপক্ষে, আমরা প্রামাণিক রেওয়ায়েত থেকে জানতে পারি যে এটিই প্রথম
পূর্ণাঙ্গ সূরা যা মুহাম্মদ (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) এর উপর
অবতীর্ণ হয়েছিল। এর আগে, শুধুমাত্র কয়েকটি বিবিধ আয়াত নাযিল হয়েছিল
যেগুলো আলাক, মুজ্জাম্মিল, মুদ্দাত্থির ইত্যাদির অংশ।

পরম করুণাময় অতি দয়ালু আল্লাহর নামে।

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

তাদের পথ, যাদের উপর আপনি অনুগ্রহ করেছেন। যাদেরকে নিয়ামত দিয়েছেন।যাদের উপর (আপনার) ক্রোধ আপতিত হয়নি এবং যারা পথভ্রষ্টও নয়।
Saheeh International
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
Pickthall
The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray.
