আদ দোহা (পূর্বাহ্ন)

1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. By the morning hours

1 I swear by the early hours of the day,

2 And by the night when it is stillest,

2 And the night when it covers with darkness.

3 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee,

3 Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased,

4 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former,

4 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before.

5 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content.

5 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased.

6 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee) ?

6 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?

7 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee) ?

7 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)?

8 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee) ?

8 And find you in want and make you to be free from want?

9 Therefor the orphan oppress not,

9 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him).

10 Therefor the beggar drive not away,

10 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him),

11 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse.

11 And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it).
