আত তাকাসুর (প্রাচুর্য লাভের প্রতিযোগিতা)

1 In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The mutual rivalry (for piling up of worldly things) diverts you,

1 Abundance diverts you,

2 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die).

2 Until you come to the graves.

3 Nay! You shall come to know!

3 Nay! you shall soon know,

4 Again nay! You shall come to know!

4 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know.

5 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have been occupied yourselves in worldly things).

5 Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge,

6 Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)!

6 You should most certainly have seen the hell;

7 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight!

7 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty;

8 Then on that Day you shall be asked about the delights (you indulged in, in this world)!

8 Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons.
