আর তোমাদের নিদ্রাকে বানাইনি তোমাদের জন্যে বিশ্রাম?

And made your sleep [a means for] rest

আর আমি তোমাদের নিদ্রাকে করেছি বিশ্রাম।

And have appointed your sleep for repose,

এবং রাতকে কি বানাইনি (অন্ধকার দ্বারা পোশাকের মতো) আবরণ?

And made the night as clothing

আর আমি রাতকে করেছি আবরণ।

And have appointed the night as a cloak,

আর দিনকে কি বানাইনি তোমাদের জীবন - সামগ্রী উপার্জনের সময়?

And made the day for livelihood
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর আমি দিনকে করেছি জীবিকার্জনের সময়।

And have appointed the day for livelihood.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
এবং আমরা বানিয়েছি তোমাদের উপরে সাতটি মজবুত (আকাশ)।

And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]

আর আমি তোমাদের উপরে বানিয়েছি সাতটি সুদৃঢ় আকাশ।

And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),

আর স্থাপন করে দিয়েছি একটি উজ্জ্বল উত্তপ্ত বাতি (সূর্য)।
Saheeh International
And made [therein] a burning lamp

আর আমি সৃষ্টি করেছি উজ্জ্বল একটি প্রদীপ।

And have appointed a dazzling lamp,
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
আর বর্ষাধারী মেঘমালা থেকে বর্ষণ করেছি প্রচুর পানি।
Saheeh International
And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water

আর আমি মেঘমালা থেকে প্রচুর পানি বর্ষণ করেছি।

And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water,
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
তা দিয়ে উৎপন্ন করার জন্যে শস্য, শাক - সবজি,
Saheeh International
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
যাতে তা দিয়ে আমি শস্য ও উদ্ভিদ উৎপন্ন করতে পারি।

Thereby to produce grain and plant,

আর নিবিড় উদ্যান।
Saheeh International
And gardens of entwined growth.

আর ঘন উদ্যানসমূহ।

And gardens of thick foliage.

নিশ্চয়ই ফায়সালার দিনটি তো নির্দিষ্ট হয়েই আছে।

Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -

নিশ্চয় ফয়সালার দিন নির্ধারিত আছে।

Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time,
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
সেদিন যেইমাত্র শিংগায় ফুঁক দেয়া হবে, সাথে সাথে তোমরা এসে হাজির হবে দলে দলে।

The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সেদিন শিঙ্গায় ফুঁক দেয়া হবে, তখন তোমরা দলে দলে আসবে।

A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes,
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
আর উন্মুক্ত করে দেয়া হবে আকাশ এবং তাতে তৈরি হয়ে যাবে অসংখ্য দরজা।
Saheeh International
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর আসমান খুলে দেয়া হবে, ফলে তা হবে বহু দ্বারবিশিষ্ট।

And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates,
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
আর পর্বতসমূহকে স্থানচ্যুত করে চালিয়ে দেয়া হবে, ফলে সেগুলো পরিণত হবে মরীচিকায়।
Saheeh International
And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর পর্বতসমূহকে চলমান করা হবে, ফলে সেগুলো মরীচিকা হয়ে যাবে।
Pickthall
And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
অবশ্যি জাহান্নাম অতর্কিত আক্রমণের এক গোপন স্থান।
Saheeh International
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait

নিশ্চয় জাহান্নাম গোপন ফাঁদ।

Lo! hell lurketh in ambush,
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
আল্লাহদ্রোহী সীমালংঘনকারীদের বাসস্থান।
Saheeh International
For the transgressors, a place of return,

সীমালঙ্ঘনকারীদের জন্য প্রত্যাবর্তন স্থল।
Pickthall
A home for the rebellious.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
যুগ যুগ ধরে (অনন্তকাল) তারা অবস্থান করবে সেখানে।
Saheeh International
In which they will remain for ages [unending].
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সেখানে তারা যুগ যুগ ধরে অবস্থান করবে।
Pickthall
They will abide therein for ages.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
সেখানে তারা না ঠান্ডা, আর না পানযোগ্য কিছু আস্বাদন করবে।
Saheeh International
They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সেখানে তারা কোন শীতলতা আস্বাদন করবে না এবং না কোন পানীয়।

Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
তবে পান করবে শুধু ফুটন্ত পানি আর ক্ষত থেকে নির্গত পুঁজ।
Saheeh International
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -

ফুটন্ত পানি ও পুঁজ ছাড়া।

Save boiling water and a paralysing cold:

(এ হবে তাদের কৃতকর্মের) উপযুক্ত প্রতিফল।

An appropriate recompense.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
উপযুক্ত প্রতিফলস্বরূপ।
Pickthall
Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds).
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
কারণ, হিসাব দিতে হবে - এ দৃষ্টিভংগি তারা পোষণ করতো না।

Indeed, they were not expecting an account

নিশ্চয় তারা হিসাবের আশা করত না।

For lo! they looked not for a reckoning;
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
আর তারা মিথ্যা বলে পুরোপুরি প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল আমাদের আয়াত সমূহকে।
Saheeh International
And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর তারা আমার আয়াতসমূহকে সম্পূর্ণরূপে অস্বীকার করেছিল।
Pickthall
They called Our revelations false with strong denial.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
অথচ প্রতিটি জিনিসকেই আমরা লিখে রেখেছি গুণে গুণে।
Saheeh International
But all things We have enumerated in writing.

আর সব কিছুই আমি লিখিতভাবে সংরক্ষণ করেছি।

Everything have We recorded in a Book.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
সুতরাং এখন আস্বাদন করো (তোমাদের আল্লাহদ্রোহী কৃতকর্মের প্রতিফল)। কেবলমাত্র শাস্তি ছাড়া তোমাদের জন্যে আমরা কোনো কিছুই বৃদ্ধি করবোনা। (হে ! আমাদেরকে জাহান্নাম থেকে রক্ষা করুন!)
Saheeh International
"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সুতরাং তোমরা স্বাদ গ্রহণ কর। আর আমি তো কেবল তোমাদের আযাবই বৃদ্ধি করব।
Pickthall
So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
মুত্তাকিদের (যারা কঠিন হিসাবের ভয়ে আল্লাহর হুকুম অমান্য করা থেকে বিরত থেকেছিল, তাদের) জন্যে রয়েছে সাফল্য (জান্নাত)।

Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -

নিশ্চয় মুত্তাকীদের জন্য রয়েছে সফলতা।

Lo! for the duteous is achievement -

এবং উদ্যানসমূহ আর আংগুরের বাগান।

Gardens and grapevines
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
উদ্যানসমূহ ও আঙ্গুরসমূহ।

Gardens enclosed and vineyards,
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
আর সমবয়সী পূর্ণ যৌবনা তরুণী দল।
Saheeh International
And full - breasted [companions] of equal age
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
আর সমবয়স্কা উদ্ভিন্ন যৌবনা তরুণী।

And maidens for companions,

এবং (শরাব) ভর্তি পানপাত্র।

And a full cup.

আর পরিপূর্ণ পানপাত্র।

And a full cup.

সেখানে তারা শুনবেনা কোনো বাজে কিংবা মিথ্যা কথাবার্তা।

No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -

তারা সেখানে কোন অসার ও মিথ্যা কথা শুনবে না।

There hear they never vain discourse, nor lying -

(এসবই দেয়া হবে) তোমার সেই মহান প্রভুর পক্ষ থেকে পুরস্কার আর হিসাব পরিমাণ দান হিসেবে,

[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
তোমার রবের পক্ষ থেকে প্রতিফল, যথোচিত দানস্বরূপ।

Requital from thy Lord - a gift in payment -
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
যিনি মহাবিশ্ব, এই পৃথিবী এবং এগুলোর মধ্যবর্তী সমস্ত কিছুর মালিক। পরম দয়াবান তিনি। তাঁর সম্মুখে কথা বলার শক্তি - সাহস কারোই থাকবেনা।
Saheeh International
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
যিনি আসমানসমূহ, যমীন ও এতদোভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর রব, পরম করুণাময়। তারা তাঁর সামনে কথা বলার সামর্থ্য রাখবে না।

Lord of the heavens and the earth, and (all) that is between them, the Beneficent; with Whom none can converse.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
সেদিন রূহ (জিবরিল) এবং ফেরেশতারা দাঁড়িয়ে থাকবে সফ (সারি) বদ্ধ হয়ে। তারা কোনো কথা বলবেনা (বলার সাহস করবেনা); তবে দয়াময় রহমান কাউকেও অনুমতি দিলে (সে বলবে) এবং সে বলবে যথার্থ ও ন্যায়সঙ্গত কথা।
Saheeh International
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.
বয়ান ফাউন্ডেশন
সেদিন রূহ* ও ফেরেশতাগণ সারিবদ্ধভাবে দাঁড়াবে, যাকে পরম করুণাময় অনুমতি দেবেন সে ছাড়া অন্যরা কোন কথা বলবে না। আর সে সঠিক কথাই বলবে। *হযরত জিবরীল (আঃ)।

On the day when the angels and the Spirit stand arrayed, they speak not, saving him whom the Beneficent alloweth and who speaketh right.

এই দিনটি (যে আসবেই তা অনিবার্য) এক মহাসত্য। সুতরাং যার ইচ্ছা সে তার মালিকের দিকে ফেরার জন্যে পথ ধরুক।
Saheeh International
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.

ঐ দিনটি সত্য। অতএব যে চায়, সে তার রবের নিকট আশ্রয় গ্রহণ করুক।

That is the True Day. So whoso will should seek recourse unto his Lord.
আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম
অত্যাসন্ন আযাব সম্পর্কে আমরা তোমাদের সতর্ক করে দিলাম; সেদিন প্রতিটি মানুষই দেখতে পাবে তার দুই হাত কী কামাই করে (অর্থাৎ - সে কি কৃতকর্ম) সম্মুখে (বিচার দিনের জন্যে) পাঠিয়েছে? আর (তখন) বলবে: ‘হায়, আমি যদি মাটি হতাম!’
Saheeh International
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"

নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদেরকে একটি নিকটবর্তী আযাব সম্পর্কে সতর্ক করলাম। যেদিন মানুষ দেখতে পাবে, তার দু’হাত কী অগ্রে প্রেরণ করেছে এবং বলবে ‘হায়, আমি যদি মাটি হতাম’!

Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the will cry: "Would that I were dust!"
