হে মু’মিনগণ ! তোমরা আমার শত্রু ও তোমাদের শত্রুকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করিও না, তোমরা উহাদের প্রতি বন্ধুত্বের বার্তা প্রেরণ করিতেছ, অথচ উহারা, তোমাদের নিকট যে সত্য আসিয়াছে, তাহা প্রত্যাখ্যান করিয়াছে, রাসূলকে এবং তোমাদেরকে বহিষ্কার করিয়াছে এই কারণে যে, তোমরা তোমাদের প্রতিপালক তে বিশ্বাস কর। যদি তোমরা আমার পথে জিহাদের উদ্দেশ্যে এবং আমার সন্তুষ্টি লাভের জন্য বহির্গত হইয়া থাক, তবে কেন তোমরা উহাদের সঙ্গে গোপনে বন্ধুত্ব করিতেছ? তোমরা যাহা গোপন কর এবং তোমরা যাহা প্রকাশ কর তাহা আমি সম্যক অবগত। তোমাদের মধ্যে যে কেহ ইহা করে সে তো বিচ্যুত হয় সরল পথ হইতে।
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo AAaduwwee waAAaduwwakum awliyaa tulqoona ilayhim bialmawaddati waqad kafaroo bima jaakum mina alhaqqi yukhrijoona alrrasoola waiyyakum an tuminoo biAllahi rabbikum in kuntum kharajtum jihadan fee sabeelee waibtighaa mardatee tusirroona ilayhim bialmawaddati waana aAAlamu bima akhfaytum wama aAAlantum waman yafAAalhu minkum faqad dalla sawaa alssabeeli

O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors), - offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path.

তোমাদেরকে কাবু করিতে পারিলে উহারা হইবে তোমাদের শত্রু এবং হস্ত ও রসনা দ্বারা তোমাদের অনিষ্ট সাধন করিবে এবং কামনা করিবে যে, তোমরাও কর।
Transliteration
In yathqafookum yakoonoo lakam aAAdaan wayabsutoo ilaykum aydiyahum waalsinatahum bialssooi wawaddoo law takfuroona

If they were to get the better of you, they would behave to you as enemies, and stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you for evil: and they desire that ye should reject the Truth.

তোমাদের আত্মীয় - স্বজন ও সন্তান - সন্ততি কিয়ামতের দিন তোমাদের কোন কাজে আসিবে না। তোমাদের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করিয়া দিবেন ; তোমরা যাহা কর তিনি তাহা দেখেন।
Of no profit to you will be your relatives and your children on the Day of Judgment: He will judge between you: for Allah sees well all that ye do.

তোমাদের জন্য ইব্রাহীম ও তাহার অনুসারীদের মধ্যে রহিয়াছে উত্তম আদর্শ। যখন তাহারা তাহাদের সম্প্রদায়কে বলিয়াছিল, ‘তোমাদের সঙ্গে এবং তোমরা র পরিবর্তে যাহার ‘ইবাদত কর তাহার সঙ্গে আমাদের কোন সম্পর্ক নাই। আমরা তোমাদেরকে মানি না। তোমাদের ও আমাদের মধ্যে সৃষ্টি হইল শত্রুতা ও বিদ্বেষ চিরকালের জন্য ; যদি না তোমরা এক তে ঈমান আন।’ তবে ব্যতিক্রম তাহার পিতার প্রতি ইব্রাহীমের উক্তি : ‘আমি নিশ্চয়ই তোমার জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করিব; এবং তোমার ব্যাপারে র নিকট আমি কোন অধিকার রাখি না।’ ইব্রাহীম ও তাহার অনুসারিগণ বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক ! আমরা তোমারই উপর নির্ভর করিয়াছি, তোমারই অভিমুখী হইয়াছি এবং প্রত্যাবর্তন তো তোমারই নিকট।
Transliteration
Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatun fee ibraheema waallatheena maAAahu ith qaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimma taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabada baynana wabaynakumu alAAadawatu waalbaghdao abadan hatta tuminoo biAllahi wahdahu illa qawla ibraheema liabeehi laastaghfiranna laka wama amliku laka mina Allahi min shayin rabbana AAalayka tawakkalna wailayka anabna wailayka almaseeru

There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever, - unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone": But not when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal.

‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি আমাদেরকে কাফিরদের পীড়নের পাত্র করিও না। হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা কর; তুমি তো পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।’
Transliteration
Rabbana la tajAAalna fitnatan lillatheena kafaroo waighfir lana rabbana innaka anta alAAazeezu alhakeemu

"Our Lord! Make us not a (test and) trial for the Unbelievers, but forgive us, our Lord! for Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

তোমরা যাহারা ও আখিরাতের প্রত্যাশা কর নিশ্চয়ই তাহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে উত্তম আর্দশ তাহাদের মধ্যে। কেহ মুখ ফিরাইয়া লইলে সে জানিয়া রাখুক, নিশ্চয়ই , তিনি তো অভাবমুক্ত, প্রশংসার্হ।
Transliteration
Laqad kana lakum feehim oswatun hasanatun liman kana yarjoo Allaha waalyawma alakhira waman yatawalla fainna Allaha huwa alghanniyyu alhameedu

There was indeed in them an excellent example for you to follow, - for those whose hope is in Allah and in the Last Day. But if any turn away, truly Allah is Free of all Wants, Worthy of all Praise.

যাহাদের সঙ্গে তোমাদের শত্রুতা রহিয়াছে সম্ভবত তাহাদের ও তোমাদের মধ্যে বন্ধুত্ব সৃষ্টি করে দিবেন; সর্বশক্তিমান এবং ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
It may be that Allah will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For Allah has power (over all things); And Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Merciful.

দীনের ব্যাপারে যাহারা তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করে নাই এবং তোমাদেরকে স্বদেশ হইতে বহিষ্কার করে নাই তাহাদের প্রতি মহানুভবতা প্রদর্শন ও ন্যায়বিচার করিতে তোমাদেরকে নিষেধ করেন না। তো ন্যায়পরায়ণদেরকে ভালবাসেন।
Transliteration
La yanhakumu Allahu AAani allatheena lam yuqatilookum fee alddeeni walam yukhrijookum min diyarikum an tabarroohum watuqsitoo ilayhim inna Allaha yuhibbu almuqsiteena
Yusuf Ali
Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.

কেবল তাহাদের সঙ্গে বন্ধুত্ব করিতে নিষেধ করেন যাহারা দীনের ব্যাপারে তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করিয়াছে, তোমাদেরকে স্বদেশ হইতে বহিষ্কার করিয়াছে এবং তোমাদের বহিষ্করণে সাহায্য করিয়াছে। উহাদের সঙ্গে যাহারা বন্ধুত্ব করে তাহারা তো ।
Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong.

হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমাদের নিকট নারীরা হিজরত করিয়া আসিলে তাহাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করিও, তাহাদের ঈমান সম্বন্ধে সম্যক অবগত আছেন। যদি তোমরা জানিতে পার যে, তাহারা তবে তাহাদেরকে কাফিরদের নিকট ফেরত পাঠাইও না। নারীগণ কাফিরদের জন্য বৈধ নয় এবং কাফিরগণ নারীদের জন্য বৈধ নয়। কাফিররা যাহা ব্যয় করিয়াছে তাহা উহাদেরকে ফিরাইয়া দিও। অতঃপর তোমরা তাহাদেরকে বিবাহ করিলে তোমাদের কোন অপরাধ হইবে না যদি তোমরা তাহাদেরকে তাহাদের মাহর দাও। তোমরা নারীদের সঙ্গে দাম্পত্য সম্পর্ক বজায় রাখিও না। তোমরা যাহা ব্যয় করিয়াছ তাহা ফেরত চাইবে এবং কাফিররা ফেরত চাইবে যাহা তাহারা ব্যয় করিয়াছে। ইহাই র বিধান ; তিনি তোমাদের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করিয়া থাকেন। র্সবজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha jaakumu almuminatu muhajiratin faimtahinoohunna Allahu aAAlamu bieemanihinna fain AAalimtumoohunna muminatin fala tarjiAAoohunna ila alkuffari la hunna hillun lahum wala hum yahilloona lahunna waatoohum ma anfaqoo wala junaha AAalaykum an tankihoohunna ithaataytumoohunna ojoorahunna wala tumsikoo biAAisami alkawafiri waisaloo ma anfaqtum walyasaloo ma anfaqoo thalikum hukmu Allahi yahkumu baynakum waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

O ye who believe! When there come to you believing women refugees, examine (and test) them: Allah knows best as to their Faith: if ye ascertain that they are Believers, then send them not back to the Unbelievers. They are not lawful (wives) for the Unbelievers, nor are the (Unbelievers) lawful (husbands) for them. But pay the Unbelievers what they have spent (on their dower), and there will be no blame on you if ye marry them on payment of their dower to them. But hold not to the guardianship of unbelieving women: ask for what ye have spent on their dowers, and let the (Unbelievers) ask for what they have spent (on the dowers of women who come over to you). Such is the command of Allah: He judges (with justice) between you. And Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

তোমাদের স্ত্রীদের মধ্যে যদি কেহ হাতছাড়া হইয়া কাফিরদের নিকট রহিয়া যায় এবং তোমাদের যদি সুযোগ আসে তখন যাহাদের স্ত্রীগণ হাতছাড়া হইয়া গিয়াছে তাহাদেরকে, তাহারা যাহা ব্যয় করিয়াছে তাহার সমপরিমাণ অর্থ প্রদান করিবে, ভয় কর কে, যাহাতে তোমরা ।
Transliteration
Wain fatakum shayon min azwajikum ila alkuffari faAAaqabtum faatoo allatheena thahabat azwajuhum mithla ma anfaqoo waittaqoo Allaha allathee antum bihi muminoona
Yusuf Ali
And if any of your wives deserts you to the Unbelievers, and ye have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side), then pay to those whose wives have deserted the equivalent of what they had spent (on their dower). And fear Allah, in Whom ye believe.

হে নবী! নারীগণ যখন তোমার নিকট আসিয়া বায়‘আত করে এই মর্মে যে, তাহারা র সঙ্গে কোন শরীক স্থির করিবে না, চুরি করিবে না, ব্যভিচার করিবে না, নিজেদের সন্তান হত্যা করিবে না, তাহারা সজ্ঞানে কোন অপবাদ রচনা করিয়া রটাইবে না এবং সৎকার্যে তোমাকে অমান্য করিবে না তখন তাহাদের বায়‘আত গ্রহণ করিও এবং তাহাদের জন্য র নিকট ক্ষমা র্প্রাথনা করিও। তো ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu itha jaaka almuminatu yubayiAAnaka AAala an la yushrikna biAllahi shayan wala yasriqna wala yazneena wala yaqtulna awladahunna wala yateena bibuhtanin yaftareenahu bayna aydeehinna waarjulihinna wala yaAAseenaka fee maAAroofin fabayiAAhunna waistaghfir lahunna Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
Yusuf Ali
O Prophet! When believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee, that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit adultery (or fornication), that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood, and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter, - then do thou receive their fealty, and pray to Allah for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Merciful.

হে মু’মিনগণ ! যে সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি রুষ্ট তোমরা তাহাদের সঙ্গে বন্ধুত্ব করিও না, উহারা তো পরকাল সম্পর্কে হতাশ হইয়া পড়িয়াছে, যেমন হতাশ হইয়াছে কাফিররা কবরস্থদের বিষয়ে।
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tatawallaw qawman ghadiba Allahu AAalayhim qad yaisoo mina alakhirati kama yaisa alkuffaru min ashabi alquboori
Yusuf Ali
O ye who believe! Turn not (for friendship) to people on whom is the Wrath of Allah, of the Hereafter they are already in despair, just as the Unbelievers are in despair about those (buried) in graves.
