Chapter 29, 69 verses
আলিফ - লাম - মীম;
Alif-Lam-Mim.
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.]
মানুষ কি মনে করে যে, ‘আমরা ঈমান আনিয়াছি’ এই কথা বলিলেই উহাদেরকে পরীক্ষা না করিয়া অব্যাহতি দেওয়া হইবে?
Meinen die Menschen, daß sie in Ruhe gelassen werden, (nur) weil sie sagen: "Wir glauben", ohne daß sie geprüft werden?
Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested.
আমি তো ইহাদের পূর্ববর্তীদেরকেও পরীক্ষা করিয়াছিলাম ; অবশ্যই প্রকাশ করিয়া দিবেন কাহারা সত্যবাদী এবং তিনি অবশ্যই প্রকাশ করিয়া দিবেন কাহারা মিথ্যাবাদী।
Wir haben bereits diejenigen vor ihnen geprüft. Allah wird ganz gewiß diejenigen kennen, die die Wahrheit sprechen, und Er wird ganz gewiß die Lügner kennen.
And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test).
তবে কি যাহারা মন্দ কর্ম করে তাহারা মনে করে যে, তাহারা আমার আয়ত্তের বাহিরে চলিয়া যাইবে? তাহাদের সিদ্ধান্ত কত মন্দ!
Oder meinen diejenigen, die böse Taten begehen, daß sie Uns entkommen (können)? Wie böse ist, was sie urteilen!
Or think those who do evil deeds that they can outstrip Us (i.e. escape Our punishment)? Evil is that which they judge!
যে র সাক্ষাৎ কামনা করে সে জানিয়া রাখুক, র নির্ধারিত কাল আসিবেই। তিনি সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
Wer die Begegnung mit Allah erwartet-, so wird Allahs Frist sicher kommen. Und Er ist der Allhörende und Allwissende.
Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
যে কেহ সাধনা করে, সে তো নিজের জন্যই সাধনা করে ; তো বিশ্বজগৎ হইতে অমুখাপেক্ষী।
Und wer sich abmüht, der müht sich nur zu seinem eigenen Vorteil ab, denn Allah ist der Weltenbewohner fürwahr unbedürftig.
And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. Verily, Allah stands not in need of any of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).
এবং যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে আমি নিশ্চয়ই তাহাদের হইতে তাহাদের মন্দ কর্মগুলি মিটাইয়া দিব এবং আমি অবশ্যই তাহাদেরকে প্রতিদান দিব, তাহারা যে উত্তম কর্ম করিত তাহার।
Denjenigen, die glauben und rechtschaffene Werke tun, werden Wir ganz gewiß ihre bösen Taten tilgen und ihnen ganz gewiß das Beste vergelten von dem, was sie taten.
Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism) and in Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم , and do not give up their faith because of the harm they receive from the polytheists], and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do.
আমি মানুষকে নির্দেশ দিয়াছি তাহার পিতামাতার প্রতি সদ্ব্যবহার করিতে। তবে উহারা যদি তোমার উপর বল প্রয়োগ করে আমার সঙ্গে এমন কিছু শরীক করিতে যাহার সম্পর্কে তোমার কোন জ্ঞান নাই, তুমি তাহাদেরকে মানিও না। আমারই নিকট তোমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তন। অতঃপর আমি তোমাদেরকে জানাইয়া দিব তোমরা কী করিতেছিলে।
Und Wir haben dem Menschen anbefohlen, seine Eltern mit Güte zu behandeln. Wenn sie sich aber darum bemühen, daß Du Mir das beigesellst, wovon du kein Wissen hast, dann gehorche ihnen nicht. Zu Mir wird eure Rückkehr sein, da werde Ich euch kundtun, was ihr zu tun pflegtet.
And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents; but if they strive to make you join with Me (in worship) anything (as a partner) of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what you used to do.
যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে আমি অবশ্যই তাহাদেরকে সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করিব।
Diejenigen, die glauben und rechtschaffene Werke tun, lassen Wir in die Reihen der Rechtschaffenen eingehen.
And for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and the other articles of Faith) and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall make them enter with (in the entrance of) the righteous (in Paradise).
মানুষের মধ্যে কতক বলে, ‘আমরা আল্লাহে বিশ্বাস করি, কিন্তু র পথে যখন উহারা নিগৃহীত হয়, তখন উহারা মানুষের পীড়নকে র শাস্তির মত গণ্য করে এবং তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে কোন সাহায্য আসিলে উহারা বলিতে থাকে, ‘আমরা তো তোমাদের তো তোমাদের সঙ্গেই ছিলাম।’ বিশ্ববাসীর অন্তঃকরণে যাহা আছে, কি তাহা সম্যক অবগত নহেন ?’
Und unter den Menschen gibt es manchen, der sagt: "Wir glauben an Allah." Wenn ihm aber um Allahs willen Leid zugefügt wird, setzt er die Anfechtung durch die Menschen der Strafe Allahs gleich. Wenn jedoch Hilfe von deinem Herrn kommt, sagen sie ganz gewiß: "Wir sind ja mit euch gewesen." Weiß Allah denn nicht besser Bescheid über das, was'in den Brüsten der Weltenbewohner steckt?
Of mankind are some who say: "We believe in Allah." But if they are made to suffer for the sake of Allah, they consider the trial of mankind as Allah's punishment; and if victory comes from your Lord, (the hypocrites) will say: "Verily we were with you (helping you)." Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the breasts of the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn).
অবশ্যই প্রকাশ করিয়া দিবেন কাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে এবং অবশ্যই প্রকাশ করিয়া দিবেন কাহারা মুনাফিক।
Und Allah wird ganz gewiß diejenigen kennen, die glauben, und Er wird ganz gewiß die Heuchler kennen.
Verily, Allah knows those who believe, and verily, He knows the hypocrites [i.e. Allah will test the people with good and hard days to discriminate the good from the wicked, although Allah knows all that before putting them to test].
কাফিররা মু’মিনদেরকে বলে, ‘আমাদের পথ অনুসরণ কর তাহা হইলে আমরা তোমাদের পাপভার বহন করিব।’ কিন্তু উহারা তো তাহাদের পাপভারের কিছুই বহন করিবে না। উহারা অবশ্যই মিথ্যাবাদী।
Und diejenigen, die ungläubig sind, sagen zu denjenigen, die glauben: "Folgt unserem Weg. Laßt uns eure Verfehlungen tragen." Tragen werden sie aber nichts von ihren Verfehlungen, denn sie sind fürwahr Lügner.
And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Follow our way and we will verily bear your sins." Never will they bear anything of their sins. Surely, they are liars.
উহারা নিজেদের ভার বহন করিবে এবং নিজেদের বোঝার সঙ্গে আরও কিছু বোঝা ; আর উহারা যে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করে সে সম্পর্কে কিয়ামত দিবসে অবশ্যই উহাদেরকে প্রশ্ন করা হইবে।
Ganz gewiß werden sie ihre (eigenen) Lasten tragen, und auch (weitere) Lasten zu ihren (eigenen) Lasten hinzu. Und sie werden am Tag der Auferstehung ganz gewiß befragt werden nach dem, was sie zu ersinnen pflegten.
And verily, they shall bear their own loads, and other loads besides their own; and verily, they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about that which they used to fabricate.
আমি তো নূহ্কে তাহার সম্প্রদায়ের নিকট প্রেরণ করিয়াছিলাম। সে উহাদের মধ্যে অবস্থান করিয়াছিল পঞ্চাশ কম হাজার বৎসর। অতঃপর প্লাবন উহাদেরকে গ্রাস করে ; কারণ উহারা ছিল সীমালংঘনকারী।
Und Wir sandten bereits Nuh zu seinem Volk. Er verweilte unter ihnen tausend Jahre weniger fünfzig Jahre. Da ergriff sie die Überschwemmung, während sie Unrecht taten.
And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he stayed among them a thousand years less fifty years [inviting them to believe in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism), and discard the false gods and other deities]; and the Deluge overtook them while they were Zalimun (wrong-doers, polytheists, disbelievers).
অতঃপর আমি তাহাকে এবং যাহারা তরণীতে আরোহণ করিয়াছিল তাহাদেরকে রক্ষা করিলাম এবং বিশ্বজগতের জন্য ইহাকে করিলাম একটি নিদর্শন।
Da retteten Wir ihn und die Insassen des Schiffes und machten es zu einem Zeichen für die Weltenbewohner.
Then We saved him and those with him in the ship, and made it (the ship) an Ayah (a lesson, a warning) for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
স্মরণ কর ইব্রাহীমের কথা, সে তাহার সম্প্রদায়কে বলিয়াছিল, তোমরা র ‘ইবাদত কর এবং তাঁহাকে ভয় কর ; তোমাদের জন্য ইহাই শ্রেয় যদি তোমরা জানিতে !
Und (Wir sandten) Ibrahim. Als er zu seinem Volk sagte: "Dient Allah und fürchtet Ihn. Das ist besser für euch, wenn ihr (es) nur wißt.
And (remember) Ibrahim (Abraham) when he said to his people: "Worship Allah (Alone), and fear Him: that is better for you if you did but know.
‘তোমরা তো ব্যতীত কেবল মূর্তিপূজা করিতেছ এবং মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করিতেছ। তোমরা ব্যতীত যাহাদের পূজা কর তাহারা তোমাদের জীবনোপকরণের মালিক নয়। সুতরাং তোমরা জীবনোপকরণ কামনা কর র নিকট এবং তাঁহার ‘ইবাদত কর ও তাঁহার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর। তোমরা তাঁহারই নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইবে।
Ihr dient anstatt Allahs nur Götzen und schafft (dabei nur) ungeheuerliche Lüge. Gewiß, diejenigen, denen ihr anstatt Allahs dient, vermögen euch nicht zu versor gen. Sucht darum bei Allah die Versorgung und dient Ihm und dankt Ihm. Zu Ihm werdet ihr zurückgebracht.
"You worship besides Allah only idols, and you only invent falsehood. Verily, those whom you worship besides Allah have no power to give you provision: so seek your provision from Allah (Alone), and worship Him (Alone), and be grateful to Him. To Him (Alone) you will be brought back.
‘তোমরা যদি অস্বীকার কর তবে তো তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও মিথ্যাবাদী বলিয়াছিল।সুস্পষ্টভাবে প্রচার করিয়া দেওয়া ব্যতীত রাসূলের আর কোন দায়িত্ব নাই।
Und wenn ihr (die Botschaft) für Lüge erklärt, so haben bereits vor euch (andere) Gemeinschaften (sie) für Lüge erklärt. Und dem Gesandten obliegt nur die deutliche Übermittlung (der Botschaft)."
"And if you deny, then nations before you have denied (their Messengers). And the duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message) plainly."
উহারা কি লক্ষ্য করে না, কিভাবে সৃষ্টিকে অস্তিত্ব দান করেন, অতঃপর উহা পুনরায় সৃষ্টি করেন ? এটা র জন্য সহজ।
Haben sie denn nicht gesehen, wie Allah die Schöpfung am Anfang macht und sie hierauf wiederholt? Gewiß, das ist für Allah ein leichtes.
See they not how Allah originates the creation, then repeats it. Verily, that is easy for Allah.
বল, ‘তোমরা পৃথিবীতে পরিভ্রমণ কর এবং অনুধাবন কর, কিভাবে তিনি সৃষ্টি আরম্ভ করিয়াছেন! অতঃপর সৃষ্টি করিবেন পরবর্তী সৃষ্টি। তো সর্ববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
Sag: Reist auf der Erde umher und schaut, wie Er die Schöpfung am Anfang gemacht hat. Hierauf läßt Allah die letzte Schöpfung entstehen. Gewiß, Allah hat zu allem die Macht.
Say: "Travel in the land and see how (Allah) originated the creation, and then Allah will bring forth the creation of the Hereafter (i.e. resurrection after death). Verily, Allah is Able to do all things."
তিনি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা শাস্তি দেন এবং যাহার প্রতি ইচ্ছা অনুগ্রহ করেন। তোমরা তাঁহারই নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইবে।
Er straft, wen Er will, und Er erbarmt Sich, wessen Er will. Und zu Ihm werdet ihr zurückgebracht.
He punishes whom He wills, and shows mercy to whom He wills; and to Him you will be returned.
তোমরা কে ব্যর্থ করিতে পারিবে না পৃথিবীতে, আর না আকাশে এবং ব্যতীত তোমাদের কোন অভিভাবক নাই, সাহায্যকারীও নাই।
Und ihr werdet euch (Ihm) weder auf der Erde noch im Himmel entziehen können, und ihr habt außer Allah weder Schutzherrn noch Helfer.
And you cannot escape in the earth or in the heaven (from Allah). And besides Allah you have neither any Wali (Protector or Guardian) nor any Helper.
যাহারা র নিদর্শন ও তাঁহার সাক্ষাৎ অস্বীকার করে, তাহারাই আমার অনুগ্রহ হইতে নিরাশ হয়। আর তাহাদের জন্য আছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
Diejenigen, die Allahs Zeichen und die Begegnung mit Ihm ableugnen, diese haben die Hoffnung auf Meine Barmherzigkeit aufgegeben, und für diese wird es schmerzhafte Strafe geben.
And those who disbelieve in the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah and the Meeting with Him, it is they who have no hope of My Mercy: and it is they who will have a painful torment.
উত্তরে ইব্রাহীমের সম্প্রদায় শুধু এই বলিল, ‘ইহাকে হত্যা কর অথবা অগ্নিদগ্ধ কর।’ কিন্তু তাহাকে অগ্নি হইতে রক্ষা করিলেন। ইহাতে অবশ্যই নিদর্শন রহিয়াছে সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য।
Aber die Antwort seines Volkes war nur, daß sie sagten: "Tötet ihn oder verbrennt ihn." Da rettete Allah ihn aus dem Feuer. Darin sind wahrlich Zeichen für Leute, die glauben.
So nothing was the answer of [Ibrahim's (Abraham)] people except that they said: "Kill him or burn him." Then Allah saved him from the fire. Verily, in this are indeed signs for a people who believe.
ইব্রাহীম বলিল, ‘তোমরা তো র পরিবর্তে মূর্তিগুলিকে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করিয়াছ, পার্থিব জীবনে তোমাদের পারস্পরিক বন্ধুত্বের খাতিরে। পরে কিয়ামতের দিন তোমরা একে অপরকে অস্বীকার করিবে এবং পরস্পর পরস্পরকে অভিসম্পাত দিবে। তোমাদের আবাস হইবে জাহান্নাম এবং তোমাদের কোন সাহায্যকারী থাকিবে না।’
Und er sagte: "Ihr habt euch ja anstatt Allahs nur Götzen genommen aus Freundschaft zueinander im diesseitigen Leben. Aber dereinst, am Tag der Auferstehung, werdet ihr einander verleugnen und einander verfluchen. Euer Zufluchtsort ist das (Höllen)feuer, und ihr werdet keine Helfer haben."
And [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall have no helper."
লূত তাহার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করিল। ইব্রাহীম বলিল, ‘আমি আমার প্রতিপালকের উদ্দেশ্যে দেশ ত্যাগ করিতেছি। তিনি তো পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।’
Da glaubte Lut ihm und sagte: "Ich werde zu meinem Herrn auswandern. Er ist ja der Allmächtige und Allweise."
So Lut (Lot) believed in him [Ibrahim's (Abraham) Message of Islamic Monotheism]. He [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "I will emigrate for the sake of my Lord. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. "
আমি ইব্রাহীমকে দান করিলাম ইসহাক ও ইয়া‘কূব এবং তাহার বংশধরদের জন্য স্থির করিলাম নবুওয়াত ও কিতাব এবং আমি তাহাকে দুনিয়ায় পুরস্কৃত করিয়াছিলাম ; আখিরাতেও সে নিশ্চয়ই সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের অন্যতম হইবে।
Und Wir schenkten ihm Ishaq und Ya'qub und richteten unter seiner Nachkommenschaft das Prophetentum und die Schrift ein und gaben ihm seinen Lohn im Diesseits. Und im Jenseits gehört er fürwahr zu den Rechtschaffenen.
And We bestowed on him [Ibrahim (Abraham)], Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), and We ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) (to Musa - Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) (to 'Îsa - Jesus), and the Qur'an (to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), all from the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham)], and We granted him his reward in this world; and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous.
স্মরণ কর লূতের কথা, সে তাহার সম্প্রদায়কে বলিয়াছিল, ‘তোমরা তো এমন অশ্লীল কর্ম করিতেছ, যাহা তোমাদের পূর্বে বিশ্বে কেহ করে নাই।
Und (Wir sandten) Lut. Als er zu seinem Volk sagte: "Ihr begeht fürwahr das Abscheuliche, wie es vor euch niemand von den Weltenbewohnern getan hat.
And (remember) Lut (Lot), when he said to his people: "You commit Al-Fahishah (sodomy - the worst sin) which none has preceded you in (committing) it in the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn)."
‘তোমরাই তো পুরুষে উপগত হইতেছ, তোমরাই তো রাহাজানি করিয়া থাক এবং তোমরাই তো নিজেদের মজলিসে প্রকাশ্যে ঘৃণ্য কর্ম করিয়া থাক।’ উত্তরে তাহার সম্প্রদায় শুধু এই বলিল, ‘আমাদের উপর র শাস্তি আনয়ন কর - যদি তুমি সত্যবাদী হও।’
Laßt ihr euch denn wahrlich (in Begierde) mit den Männern ein, und schneidet den (natürlichen) Weg ab und begeht in euren Zusammenkünften das Verwerfliche?" Aber die Antwort seines Volkes war nur, daß sie sagten: "Bringe uns doch die Strafe Allahs her, wenn du zu den Wahrhaftigen gehörst."
"Verily, you practise sodomy with men, and rob the wayfarer (travellers)! And practise Al-Munkar (disbelief and polytheism and every kind of evil wicked deed) in your meetings." But his people gave no answer except that they said: "Bring Allah's Torment upon us if you are one of the truthful."
সে বলিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টিকারী সম্প্রদায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আমাকে সাহায্য কর।’
Er sagte: "Mein Herr, hilf mir gegen das Volk, das Unheil stiftet."
He said: "My Lord! Give me victory over the people who are Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters).
যখন আমার প্রেরিত ফিরিশ্তাগণ সুসংবাদসহ ইব্রাহীমের নিকট আসিল, তাহারা বলিয়াছিল, ‘আমরা এই জনপদবাসীদেরকে ধ্বংস করিব, ইহার অধিবাসীরা তো ।’
Und als Unsere Gesandten zu Ibrahim mit der frohen Botschaft kamen, sagten sie: "Wir werden die Bewohner dieser Stadt vernichten, denn ihre Bewohner sind ungerecht."
And when Our Messengers came to Ibrahim (Abraham) with the glad tidings they said: "Verily, we are going to destroy the people of this [Lut (Lot's)] town (i.e. the town of Sodom in Palestine); truly, its people have been Zalimun [wrong-doers, polytheists disobedient to Allah, and who belied their Messenger Lut (Lot)]."
ইব্রাহীম বলিল, ‘এই জনপদে তো লূত রহিয়াছে।’ উহারা বলিল, ‘সেখানে কাহারা আছে, তাহা আমরা ভাল জানি, আমরা তো লূতকে ও তাহার পরিজনবর্গকে রক্ষা করিবই, তাহার স্ত্রীকে ব্যতীত ; সে তো পশ্চাতে অবস্থানকারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।’
Er sagte: "Aber Lut befindet sich in ihr." Sie sagten: "Wir wissen sehr wohl, wer sich in ihr befindet. Wir werden ihn ganz gewiß erretten, (ihn) und seine Angehörigen, außer seiner Frau; sie gehört zu denjenigen, die zurückbleiben."
Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "But there is Lut (Lot) in it." They said: "We know better who is there. We will verily save him [Lut (Lot)] and his family except his wife: she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk)."
এবং যখন আমার প্রেরিত ফিরিশতাগণ লূতের নিকট আসিল, তখন তাহাদের জন্য সে বিষণ্ন হইয়া পড়িল এবং নিজেকে তাহাদের রক্ষায় অসমর্থ মনে করিল। উহারা বলিল, ‘ভয় করিও না, দুঃখ করিও না ; আমরা তোমাকে ও তোমার পরিজনবর্গকে রক্ষা করিব, তোমার স্ত্রী ব্যতীত; সে তো পশ্চাতে অবস্থানকারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ;
Und als nun Unsere Gesandten zu Lut kamen, geriet er ihretwegen in eine böse Lage und war durch ihre Anwesenheit beklommen. Sie sagten: "Fürchte dich nicht und sei nicht traurig, denn wir werden dich erretten, (dich) und deine Angehörigen, außer deiner Frau; sie gehört zu denjenigen, die zurückbleiben.
And when Our Messengers came to Lut (Lot), he was grieved because of them, and felt straitened on their account. They said: "Have no fear, and do not grieve! Truly, we shall save you and your family, except your wife: she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk).
‘আমরা এই জনপদবাসীদের উপর আকাশ হইতে শাস্তি নাযিল করিব, কারণ উহারা পাপাচার করিতেছিল।’
Wir werden auf die Bewohner dieser Stadt eine unheilvolle Strafe vom Himmel herabkommen lassen dafür, daß sie gefrevelt haben,"
"Verily, we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky, because they have been rebellious (against Allah's Command)."
আমি তো বোধশক্তিসম্পন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য ইহাতে একটি স্পষ্ট নিদর্শন রাখিয়াছি।
Und Wir ließen ja von ihr ein klares Zeichen zurück für Leute, die begreifen.
And indeed We have left thereof an evident Ayah (a lesson and a warning and a sign - the place where the Dead Sea is now in Palestine) for a folk who understand.
আমি মাদ্ইয়ানবাসীদের প্রতি তাহাদের ভ্রাতা শু‘আয়বকে পাঠাইয়াছিলাম। সে বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে আমার সম্প্রদায় ! তোমরা র ‘ইবাদত কর, শেষ দিবসকে ভয় কর এবং পৃথিবীতে বিপর্যয় ঘটাইও না।’
Und (Wir sandten) zu Madyan ihren Bruder Su'aib. Da sagte er: "O mein Volk, dient Allah, erwartet den Jüngsten Tag und richtet auf der Erde nicht unheilstiftend Verderben an."
And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), We sent their brother Shu'aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah (Alone) and hope for (the reward of good deeds by worshipping Allah Alone, on) the last Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), and commit no mischief on the earth as Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters). [Tafsir At-Tabari]
কিন্তু উহারা তাহার প্রতি মিথ্যা আরোপ করিল; অতঃপর উহারা ভূমিকম্প দ্বারা আক্রান্ত হইল ; ফলে উহারা নিজ গৃহে নতজানু অবস্থায় শেষ হইয়া গেল।
Aber sie bezichtigten ihn der Lüge. Da ergriff sie das Zittern, und am Morgen lagen sie in ihrer Wohnstätte auf den Brüsten da.
And they belied him [Shu'aib]: so the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their dwellings.
এবং আমি ‘আদ ও সামূদকে ধ্বংস করিয়াছিলাম ; উহাদের বাড়িঘরই তোমাদের জন্য ইহার সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ। শয়তান উহাদের কাজকে উহাদের দৃষ্টিতে শোভন করিয়াছিল এবং উহাদেরকে সৎপথ অবলম্বনে বাধা দিয়াছিল, যদিও উহারা ছিল ।
Und (erwähne auch) die 'Ad und die Tamud. (Ihr Untergang) ist euch ja deutlich geworden an ihren Wohnorten. Der Satan schmückte ihnen ihre Taten aus und hielt sie so vom Weg ab, obwohl sie Einsicht besaßen.
And 'Ad and Thamud (people)! And indeed (their destruction) is clearly apparent to you from their (ruined) dwellings. Shaitan (Satan) made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and turned them away from the (Right) Path, though they were intelligent.
এবং আমি সংহার করিয়াছিলাম কারূন, ফির‘আওন ও হামানকে। মূসা উহাদের নিকট সুস্পষ্ট নিদর্শনসহ আসিয়াছিল ; তখন তাহারা দেশে দম্ভ করিত; কিন্তু উহারা আমার শাস্তি এড়াইতে পারে নাই।
Und (erwähne weiterhin) Qarun und Fir'aun und Haman. Musa kam ja zu ihnen mit den klaren Beweisen. Aber sie verhielten sich hochmütig auf der Erde; doch konnten sie (Uns) nicht zuvorkommen.
And (We destroyed also) Qarun (Korah), Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and Haman. And indeed Musa (Moses) came to them with clear Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but they were arrogant in the land, yet they could not outstrip Us (escape Our punishment).
উহাদের প্রত্যেককেই আমি তাহার অপরাধের জন্য শাস্তি দিয়াছিলাম : উহাদের কাহারও প্রতি প্রেরণ করিয়াছি প্রস্তরসহ প্রচণ্ড ঝটিকা, উহাদের কাহাকেও আঘাত করিয়াছিল মহানাদ, কাহাকেও আমি প্রোথিত করিয়াছিলাম ভূগর্ভে এবং কাহাকেও করিয়াছিলাম নিমজ্জিত। তাহাদের প্রতি কোন জুলুম করেন নাই ; তাহারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করিয়াছিল।
Einen jeden ergriffen Wir für seine Sünde; so sandten Wir gegen einige von ihnen einen Sturm von Steinchen, andere ergriff der Schrei, mit anderen ließen Wir die Erde versinken, andere ließen Wir ertrinken. Und nimmer ist es Allah, der ihnen Unrecht getan hat, sondern sie selbst haben sich Unrecht zugefügt.
So We punished each (of them) for his sins; of them were some on whom We sent Hasib (a violent wind with shower of stones) [as on the people of Lut (Lot)], and of them were some who were overtaken by As-Saihah [torment - awful cry. (as Thamud or Shu'aib's people)], and of them were some whom We caused the earth to swallow [as Qarun (Korah)], and of them were some whom We drowned [as the people of Nuh (Noah), or Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people]. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves.
যাহারা র পরিবর্তে অপরকে অভিভাবকরূপে গ্রহণ করে তাহাদের দৃষ্টান্ত মাকড়সার ন্যায়, যে নিজের জন্য ঘর বানায় এবং ঘরের মধ্যে মাকড়সার ঘরই তো দুর্বলতম, যদি উহারা জানিত।
Das Gleichnis derjenigen, die sich anstatt Allahs Schutzherren nehmen, ist das der Spinne, die sich ein Haus genommen hat; das schwächste Haus ist fürwahr das Haus der Spinne, wenn sie (es) nur wüßten!
The likeness of those who take (false deities as) Auliya' (protectors, helpers) other than Allah is the likeness of a spider who builds (for itself) a house; but verily, the frailest (weakest) of houses is the spider's house - if they but knew.
উহারা র পরিবর্তে যাহা কিছুকে আহ্বান করে, তো তাহা জানেন এবং তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Gewiß, Allah weiß all das, was sie anstatt Seiner anrufen. Und Er ist der Allmächtige und Allweise.
Verily, Allah knows what things they invoke instead of Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
এই সকল দৃষ্টান্ত আমি মানুষের জন্য দেই, কিন্তু কেবল জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তিরাই ইহা বুঝে।
Diese Gleichnisse prägen Wir für die Menschen. Aber nur diejenigen verstehen sie, die Wissen besitzen.
And these similitudes We put forward for mankind; but none will understand them except those who have knowledge (of Allah and His Signs).
যথাযথভাবে আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন ; ইহাতে অবশ্যই নিদর্শন রহিয়াছে মু’মিনদের জন্য।
Allah hat die Himmel und die Erde in Wahrheit erschaffen. Darin ist wahrlich ein Zeichen für die Gläubigen.
(Allah says to His Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Allah (Alone) created the heavens and the earth with truth (and none shared Him in their creation)." Verily! Therein is surely a sign for those who believe.
তুমি আবৃত্তি কর কিতাব হইতে যাহা তোমার প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ করা হয়। এবং কায়েম কর। অবশ্যই বিরত রাখে অশ্লীল ও মন্দ কার্য হইতে। আর র স্মরণই তো র্সবশ্রষ্ঠে। তোমরা যাহা কর তাহা জানেন।
Verlies, was dir vom Buch (als Offenbarung) eingegeben wird, und verrichte das Gebet. Gewiß, das Gebet hält davon ab, das Schändliche und das Verwerfliche (zu tun). Und das Gedenken Allahs ist wahrlich größer. Und Allah weiß, was ihr macht.
Recite (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) what has been revealed to you of the Book (the Qur'an), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). Verily, As-Salat (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed) and the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allah (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allah in prayers. And Allah knows what you do.
তোমরা উত্তম পন্থা ব্যতীত কিতাবীদের সঙ্গে বিতর্ক করিবে না, তবে তাহাদের সঙ্গে করিতে পার, যাহারা উহাদের মধ্যে সীমালংঘনকারী। এবং বল, ‘আমাদের প্রতি ও তোমাদের প্রতি যাহা অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছে, তাহাতে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি এবং আমাদের ইলাহ্ ও তোমাদের ইলাহ্ তো একই এবং আমরা তাঁহারই প্রতি আত্মসর্মপণকারী।’
Und streitet mit den Leuten der Schrift nur in bester Weise, außer denjenigen von ihnen, die Unrecht tun. Und sagt: "Wir glauben an das, was (als Offenbarung) zu uns herabgesandt worden ist und zu euch herabgesandt worden ist; unser Gott und euer Gott ist Einer, und wir sind Ihm ergeben'."
And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islamic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong; and say (to them): "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our Ilah (God) and your Ilah (God) is One (i.e. Allah), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)."
এইভাবেই আমি তোমার প্রতি কুরআন অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছি এবং যাহাদেরকে আমি কিতাব দিয়াছিলাম তাহারা ইহাতে বিশ্বাস করে। আর ইহাদেরও কেহ কেহ ইহাতে বিশ্বাস করে। কেহ অস্বীকার করে না আমার নিদর্শনাবলী ব্যতীত।
Und so haben Wir das Buch zu dir hinabgesandt. Diejenigen, denen Wir die Schrift gaben, glauben daran. Und auch unter diesen da gibt es manche, die daran glauben. Nur die Ungläubigen verleugnen Unsere Zeichen.
And thus We have sent down the Book (i.e. this Qur'an) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those whom We gave the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) aforetime] believe therein as also do some of these (who are present with you now like 'Abdullah bin Salam) and none but the disbelievers reject Our Ayat [(proofs, signs, verses, lessons, etc.,) and deny Our Oneness of Lordship and Our Oneness of worship and Our Oneness of Our Names and Qualities: i.e. Islamic Monotheism].
তুমি তো ইহার পূর্বে কোন কিতাব পাঠ কর নাই এবং স্বহস্তে কোন কিতাব লিখ নাই যে, মিথ্যাচারীরা সন্দেহ পোষণ করিবে।
Und du hast vordem kein Buch verlesen und es auch nicht mit deiner rechten Hand niedergeschrieben. Sonst würden wahrlich diejenigen zweifeln, die (es) für falsch erklären.
Neither did you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) read any book before it (this Qur'an), nor did you write any book (whatsoever) with your right hand. In that case, indeed, the followers of falsehood might have doubted.
বরং যাহাদেরকে জ্ঞান দেওয়া হইয়াছে বস্তুত তাহাদের অন্তরে ইহা স্পষ্ট নিদর্শন। কেবল জালিমরাই আমার নিদর্শন অস্বীকার করে।
Nein! Vielmehr sind es klare Zeichen in den Brüsten derjenigen, denen das Wissen gegeben worden ist. Und nur die Ungerechten verleugnen Unsere Zeichen.
Nay, but they, the clear Ayat [i.e. the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (among the people of the Scriptures). And none but the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
উহারা বলে, ‘তাহার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে তাহার নিকট নিদর্শন প্রেরিত হয় না কেন?’ বল, নিদর্শন তাে রই ইখ্তিয়ারে। আমি তাে একজন প্রকাশ্য সতর্ককারী মাত্র।’
Und sie sagen: "Wenn doch Zeichen von seinem Herrn auf ihn herabgesandt würden!" Sag: Über die Zeichen verfügt (allein) Allah . Und ich bin nur ein deutlicher Warner.
And they say: "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord? Say: "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a plain warner."
ইহা কি উহাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট নয় যে, আমি তোমার প্রতি কুরআন অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছি, যাহা উহাদের নিকট পাঠ করা হয়? ইহাতে অবশ্যই অনুগ্রহ ও উপদেশ রহিয়াছে সেই কওমের জন্য যাহারা ঈমান আনে।
Genügt es ihnen denn nicht, daß Wir das Buch auf dich hinabgesandt haben, das ihnen verlesen wird? Darin ist wahrlich eine Barmherzigkeit und eine Ermahnung für Leute, die glauben.
Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe .
বল, ‘আমার ও তোমাদের মধ্যে সাক্ষী হিসাবে ই যথেষ্ট। আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীতে যাহা আছে তাহা তিনি অবগত এবং যাহারা অসত্যে বিশ্বাস করে ও কে অস্বীকার করে তাহারাই তো ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।’
Sag: Allah genügt zwischen mir und euch als Zeuge. Er weiß, was in den Himmeln und auf der Erde ist. Und diejenigen, die an das Falsche glauben und Allah verleugnen, das sind die Verlierer.
Say (to them O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Sufficient is Allah for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth." And those who believe in Batil (all false deities other than Allah), and disbelieve in Allah and (in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers.
উহারা তোমাকে শাস্তি ত্বরান্বিত করিতে বলে। যদি নির্ধারিত কাল না থাকিত তবে শাস্তি তাহাদের উপর অবশ্যই আসিত। নিশ্চয়ই উহাদের উপর শাস্তি আসিবে আকস্মিকভাবে, উহাদের অজ্ঞাতসারে।
Und sie wünschen von dir, die Strafe zu beschleunigen. Wenn es nicht eine festgesetzte Frist gäbe, wäre die Strafe wahrlich zu ihnen gekommen. Aber ganz gewiß wird sie plötzlich über sie kommen, ohne daß sie merken.
And they ask you to hasten on the torment (for them): and had it not been for a term appointed, the torment would certainly have come to them. And surely, it will come upon them suddenly while they perceive not!
উহারা তোমাকে শাস্তি ত্বরান্বিত করিতে বলে, জাহান্নাম তো কাফিরদের পরিবেষ্টন করিবেই।
Sie wünschen von dir, die Strafe zu beschleunigen, doch wahrlich, die Hölle umfaßt die Ungläubigen,
They ask you to hasten on the torment. And verily, Hell, of a surety, will encompass the disbelievers.
সেই দিন শাস্তি উহাদেরকে আচ্ছন্ন করিবে ঊর্ধ্ব ও অধঃদেশ হইতে এবং তিনি বলিবেন, ‘তোমরা যাহা করিতে তাহা আস্বাদন কর।’
am Tag, da die Strafe sie von oben und von unterhalb ihrer Füße her überdeckt, und Er sagt': "Kostet, was ihr zu tun pflegtet."
On the Day when the torment (Hell-fire) shall cover them from above them and from underneath their feet, and it will be said: "Taste what you used to do."
হে আমার বান্দাগণ ! নিশ্চয় আমার পৃথিবী প্রশস্ত; সুতরাং তোমরা আমারই ‘ইবাদত কর।
O Meine Diener, die ihr glaubt, gewiß, Meine Erde ist weit. So dient Mir, ja, allein Mir.
O My slaves who believe! Certainly, spacious is My earth. Therefore worship Me." (Alone) .
জীবমাত্রই মৃত্যুর স্বাদ গ্রহণকারী; অতঃপর তোমরা আমারই নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইবে।
Jede Seele wird den Tod kosten. Hierauf werdet ihr zu Uns zurückgebracht.
Everyone shall taste death. Then unto Us you shall be returned.
যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে আমি অবশ্যই তাহাদের বসবাসের জন্য সুউচ্চ প্রাসাদ দান করিব জান্নাতে, যাহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত, সেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে, কত উত্তম প্রতিদান সেই সকল কর্মশীলদের জন্য,
Denjenigen, die glauben und rechtschaffene Werke tun, werden Wir im (Paradies)garten ganz gewiß Obergemächer zuweisen, durcheilt von Bächen; ewig darin zu bleiben. Wie trefflich ist der Lohn derjenigen, die (gut) handeln,
And those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to them We shall surely give lofty dwellings in Paradise, underneath which rivers flow, to live therein forever. Excellent is the reward for the workers.
যাহারা ধৈর্য ধারণ করে এবং তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের উপর নির্ভর করে।
die standhaft sind und sich auf ihren Herrn verlassen.
Those who are patient, and put their trust (only) in their Lord (Allah).
এমন কত জীবজন্তু আছে যাহারা নিজেদের খাদ্য মওজুদ রাখে না। ই রিযিক দান করেন উহাদেরকে ও তোমাদেরকে ; এবং তিনি সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
Und wie viele Tiere tragen ihre (eigene) Versorgung nicht herbei! Allah versorgt sie und euch. Und Er ist der Allhörende und Allwissende.
And so many a moving (living) creature carries not its own provision! Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
যদি তুমি উহাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর, ‘কে আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন এবং চন্দ্র - সূর্যকে নিয়ন্ত্রিত করিয়াছেন?’ উহারা অবশ্যই বলিবে, ‘’। তাহা হইলে, উহারা কোথায় ফিরিয়া যাইতেছে!
Und wenn du sie fragst, wer die Himmel und die Erde erschaffen und die Sonne und den Mond dienstbar gemacht hat, sagen sie ganz gewiß: "Allah." Wie lassen sie sich also abwendig machen?
And if you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they will surely reply: "Allah." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)?
তাঁহার বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাহার জন্য ইচ্ছা তাহার রিযিক বর্ধিত করেন এবং যাহার জন্য ইচ্ছা উহা সীমিত করেন। নিশ্চয়ই সর্ববিষয়ে সম্যক অবহিত।
Allah gewährt die Versorgung großzügig, wem von Seinen Dienern Er will, und bemißt ihm auch. Gewiß, Allah weiß über alles Bescheid.
Allah enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and straitens it for whom (He wills). Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything.
যদি তুমি উহাদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর, আকাশ হইতে বারি বর্ষণ করিয়া কে ভূমিকে সঞ্জীবিত করেন উহার মৃত্যুর পর ? উহারা অবশ্যই বলিবে, ‘’। বল, ‘সমস্ত প্রশংসা রই।’ কিন্তু উহাদের অধিকাংশই ইহা অনুধাবন করে না।
Und wenn du sie fragst, wer vom Himmel Wasser herabkommen läßt und dann damit die Erde nach ihrem Tod wieder lebendig macht, sagen sie ganz gewiß: "Allah." Sag: (Alles) Lob gehört Allah! Aber nein! Die meisten von ihnen be greifen nicht.
And if you were to ask them: "Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death?" they will surely reply: "Allah." Say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah!" Nay, most of them have no sense.
এই পার্থিব জীবন তো ক্রীড়া - কৌতুক ব্যতীত কিছুই নয়। পারলৌকিক জীবনই তো প্রকৃত জীবন, যদি উহারা জানিত!
Dieses irdische Leben ist nur Zerstreuung und Spiel. Die jenseitige Wohnstätte aber ist wahrlich das eigentliche Leben, wenn sie (es) nur wüßten!
And this life of the world is only an amusement and a play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter - that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew .
উহারা যখন নৌযানে আরোহণ করে তখন উহারা বিশুদ্ধচিত্ত হইয়া একনিষ্ঠভাবে কে ডাকে। অতঃপর তিনি যখন স্থলে ভিড়াইয়া উহাদেরকে উদ্ধার করেন, তখন উহারা শির্কে লিপ্ত হয়,
Wenn sie ein Schiff besteigen, rufen sie Allah an, (wobei sie) Ihm gegenüber aufrichtig in der Religion (sind). Wenn Er sie nun ans Land errettet, gesellen sie sogleich (Ihm wieder andere) bei,
And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only: but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others .
যাহাতে উহাদের প্রতি আমার দান উহারা অস্বীকার করে এবং ভোগ - বিলাসে মত্ত থাকে ; অচিরেই উহারা জানিতে পারিবে !
um undankbar zu sein für das, was Wir ihnen gegeben haben, und um zu genießen; sie werden (es noch) erfahren.
So that they become ingrate for that which We have given them, and that they take their enjoyment (as a warning and a threat), but they will come to know.
উহারা কি দেখে না আমি ‘হারাম’কে নিরাপদ স্থান করিয়াছি, অথচ ইহার চতুষ্পার্শ্বে যেসব মানুষ আছে, তাহাদের উপর হামলা করা হয়, তবে কি উহারা অসত্যেই বিশ্বাস করিবে এবং র অনুগ্রহ অস্বীকার করিবে ?
Sehen sie denn nicht, daß Wir einen sicheren geschützten Bezirk gemacht haben, während die Menschen in ihrer Umgebung fortgerissen werden? Wollen sie denn an das Falsche glauben und Allahs Gunst verleugnen?
Have they not seen that We have made (Makkah) a secure sanctuary, while men are being snatched away from all around them? Then do they believe in Batil (falsehood - polytheism, idols and all deities other than Allah), and deny (become ingrate for) the Graces of Allah?
যে ব্যক্তি সম্বন্ধে মিথ্যা রচনা করে অথবা তাঁহার নিকট হইতে আগত সত্যকে অস্বীকার করে তাহার অপেক্ষা অধিক আর কে ? জাহান্নামই কি কাফিরদের আবাস নয় ?
Und wer ist ungerechter als jemand, der gegen Allah eine Lüge ersinnt oder die Wahrheit, nachdem sie zu ihm gekommen ist, für Lüge erklärt? Ist nicht in der Hölle ein Aufenthaltsort für die Ungläubigen?
And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or denies the truth (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his doctrine of Islamic Monotheism and this Qur'an), when it comes to him? Is there not a dwelling in Hell for disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)?
যাহারা আমার উদ্দেশ্যে সংগ্রাম করে আমি তাহাদেরকে অবশ্যই আমার পথে পরিচালিত করিব। অবশ্যই সৎর্কমপরায়ণদের সঙ্গে থাকেন।
Diejenigen aber, die sich um Unsertwillen abmühen, werden Wir ganz gewiß Unsere Wege leiten. Und Allah ist wahrlich mit den Gutes Tuenden.
As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our Paths (i.e. Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). And verily, Allah is with the Muhsinun (good doers)."
