Chapter 56, 96 verses
যখন কিয়ামতের ঘটনা ঘটবে,
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls.
যখন কিয়ামত সংঘটিত হবে।
যার বাস্তবতায় কোন সংশয় নেই।
And there can be no denial of its befalling.
তার সংঘটনের কোনই অস্বীকারকারী থাকবে না।
এটা নীচু করে দেবে, সমুন্নত করে দেবে।
Bringing low (some - those who will enter Hell) Exalting (others - those who will enter Paradise). [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]
তা কাউকে ভূলুণ্ঠিত করবে এবং কাউকে করবে সমুন্নত।
যখন প্রবলভাবে প্রকম্পিত হবে পৃথিবী।
When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake.
যখন যমীন প্রকম্পিত হবে প্রবল প্রকম্পনে।
এবং পর্বতমালা ভেঙ্গে চুরমার হয়ে যাবে।
And the mountains will be powdered to dust,
আর পর্বতমালা চূর্ণ-বিচূর্ণ হয়ে পড়বে।
অতঃপর তা হয়ে যাবে উৎক্ষিপ্ত ধূলিকণা।
So that they will become floating dust particles.
অতঃপর তা বিক্ষিপ্ত ধূলিকণায় পরিণত হবে।
এবং তোমরা তিনভাবে বিভক্ত হয়ে পড়বে।
And you (all) will be in three groups.
আর তোমরা বিভক্ত হয়ে পড়বে তিন দলে।
যারা ডান দিকে, কত ভাগ্যবান তারা।
So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands) - how (fortunate) will be those on the Right Hand! (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise).
সুতরাং ডান পার্শ্বের দল, ডান পার্শ্বের দলটি কত সৌভাগ্যবান!
এবং যারা বামদিকে, কত হতভাগা তারা।
And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands) - how (unfortunate) will be those on the Left Hand! (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell).
আর বাম পার্শ্বের দল, বাম পার্শ্বের দলটি কত হতভাগ্য!
অগ্রবর্তীগণ তো অগ্রবর্তীই।
And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam] will be foremost (in Paradise).
আর অগ্রগামীরাই অগ্রগামী।
তারাই নৈকট্যশীল,
These will be the nearest (to Allah).
তারাই সান্নিধ্যপ্রাপ্ত।
অবদানের উদ্যানসমূহে,
In the Gardens of Delight (Paradise).
তারা থাকবে নিআমতপূর্ণ জান্নাতসমূহে ।
তারা একদল পূর্ববর্তীদের মধ্য থেকে।
A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam).
বহুসংখ্যক হবে পূর্ববর্তীদের মধ্য থেকে,
এবং অল্পসংখ্যক পরবর্তীদের মধ্যে থেকে।
And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later generations.
আর অল্পসংখ্যক হবে পরবর্তীদের মধ্য থেকে।
স্বর্ণ খচিত সিংহাসন।
(They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones.
স্বর্ণ ও দামী পাথরখচিত আসনে!
তারা তাতে হেলান দিয়ে বসবে পরস্পর মুখোমুখি হয়ে।
Reclining thereon, face to face.
তারা সেখানে হেলান দিয়ে আসীন থাকবে মুখোমুখি অবস্থায়।
তাদের কাছে ঘোরাফেরা করবে চির কিশোরেরা।
Immortal boys will go around them (serving),
তাদের আশ-পাশে ঘোরাফেরা করবে চির কিশোররা,
পানপাত্র কুঁজা ও খাঁটি সূরাপূর্ণ পেয়ালা হাতে নিয়ে,
With cups, and jugs, and a glass of flowing wine,
পানপাত্র, জগ ও প্রবাহিত ঝর্ণার শরাবপূর্ণ পেয়ালা নিয়ে,
যা পান করলে তাদের শিরঃপীড়া হবে না এবং বিকারগ্রস্ত ও হবে না।
Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication.
তা পানে না তাদের মাথা ব্যথা করবে, আর না তারা মাতাল হবে।
আর তাদের পছন্দমত ফল - মুল নিয়ে,
And with fruit that they may choose.
আর (ঘোরাফেরা করবে) তাদের পছন্দমত ফল নিয়ে।
এবং রুচিমত পাখীর মাংস নিয়ে।
And with the flesh of fowls that they desire.
আর পাখির গোশ্ত নিয়ে, যা তারা কামনা করবে।
তথায় থাকবে আনতনয়না হুরগণ,
And (there will be) Hur (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for "Al-Muttaqun" - the pious - See V. 2:2),
আর থাকবে ডাগরচোখা হূর,
আবরণে রক্ষিত মোতির ন্যায়,
Like unto preserved pearls.
যেন তারা সুরক্ষিত মুক্তা,
তারা যা কিছু করত, তার পুরস্কারস্বরূপ।
A reward for what they used to do.
তারা যে আমল করত তার প্রতিদানস্বরূপ।
তারা তথায় অবান্তর ও কোন খারাপ কথা শুনবে না।
No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting).
তারা সেখানে শুনতে পাবে না কোন বেহুদা কথা, এবং না পাপের কথা;
কিন্তু শুনবে সালাম আর সালাম।
But only the saying of: Salam! Salam! (greetings with peace)!
শুধু এই বাণী ছাড়া, ‘সালাম, সালাম’
যারা ডান দিকে থাকবে, তারা কত ভাগ্যবান।
And those on the Right Hand - how (fortunate) will be those on the Right Hand?
আর ডান দিকের দল; কত ভাগ্যবান ডান দিকের দল!
তারা থাকবে কাঁটাবিহীন বদরিকা বৃক্ষে।
(They will be) among thornless lote-trees,
তারা থাকবে কাঁটাবিহীন কুলগাছের নিচে,
এবং কাঁদি কাঁদি কলায়,
And among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another,
আর কাঁদিপূর্ণ কলাগাছের নিচে,
এবং দীর্ঘ ছায়ায়।
And in shade long-extended,
আর বিস্তৃত ছায়ায়,
এবং প্রবাহিত পানিতে,
And by water flowing constantly,
আর সদা প্রবাহিত পানির পাশে,
ও প্রচুর ফল - মূলে,
And fruit in plenty,
আর প্রচুর ফলমূলে,
যা শেষ হবার নয় এবং নিষিদ্ধ ও নয়,
Whose supply is not cut off (by change of season), nor are they out of reach,
যা শেষ হবে না এবং নিষিদ্ধও হবে না।
আর থাকবে সমুন্নত শয্যায়।
And on couches or thrones, raised high.
(তারা থাকবে) সুউচ্চ শয্যাসমূহে;
আমি জান্নাতী রমণীগণকে বিশেষরূপে সৃষ্টি করেছি।
Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation.
নিশ্চয় আমি হূরদেরকে বিশেষভাবে সৃষ্টি করব।
অতঃপর তাদেরকে করেছি চিরকুমারী।
And made them virgins.
অতঃপর তাদেরকে বানাব কুমারী,
কামিনী, সমবয়স্কা।
Loving (their husbands only), (and) of equal age.
সোহাগিনী ও সমবয়সী।
ডান দিকের লোকদের জন্যে।
For those on the Right Hand.
ডানদিকের লোকদের জন্য।
তাদের একদল হবে পূর্ববর্তীদের মধ্য থেকে।
A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam).
তাদের অনেকে হবে পূর্ববর্তীদের মধ্য থেকে।
এবং একদল পরবর্তীদের মধ্য থেকে।
And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later generations.
আর অনেকে হবে পরবর্তীদের মধ্য থেকে।
বামপার্শ্বস্থ লোক, কত না হতভাগা তারা।
And those on the Left Hand - how (unfortunate) will be those on the Left Hand?
আর বাম দিকের দল, কত হতভাগ্য বাম দিকের দল!
তারা থাকবে প্রখর বাষ্পে এবং উত্তপ্ত পানিতে,
In fierce hot wind and boiling water,
তারা থাকবে তীব্র গরম হাওয়া এবং প্রচন্ড উত্তপ্ত পানিতে,
এবং ধুম্রকুঞ্জের ছায়ায়।
And shadow of black smoke,
আর প্রচন্ড কালো ধোঁয়ার ছায়ায়,
যা শীতল নয় এবং আরামদায়কও নয়।
(That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) pleasant,
যা শীতলও নয়, সুখকরও নয়।
তারা ইতিপূর্বে স্বাচ্ছন্দ্যশীল ছিল।
Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury,
নিশ্চয় তারা ইতঃপূর্বে বিলাসিতায় মগ্ন ছিল,
তারা সদাসর্বদা ঘোরতর পাপকর্মে ডুবে থাকত।
And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murder and other crimes)
আর তারা জঘন্য পাপে লেগে থাকত।
তারা বলতঃ আমরা যখন মরে অস্থি ও মৃত্তিকায় পরিণত হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি পুনরুত্থিত হব?
And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected?
আর তারা বলত, ‘আমরা যখন মরে যাব এবং মাটি ও হাড়ে পরিণত হব তখনও কি আমরা পুনরুত্থিত হব?’
এবং আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষগণও!
"And also our forefathers?"
‘আমাদের পূর্ববর্তী পিতৃপুরুষরাও?’
বলুনঃ পূর্ববর্তী ও পরবর্তীগণ,
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times.
বল, ‘নিশ্চয় পূর্ববর্তীরা ও পরবর্তীরা,
সবাই একত্রিত হবে এক নির্দিষ্ট দিনের নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে।
"All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day.
এক নির্ধারিত দিনের নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে অবশ্যই একত্র হবে’।
অতঃপর হে পথভ্রষ্ট, মিথ্যারোপকারীগণ।
"Then moreover, verily you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)!
তারপর হে পথভ্রষ্ট ও অস্বীকারকারীরা,
তোমরা অবশ্যই ভক্ষণ করবে যাক্কুম বৃক্ষ থেকে,
"You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum.
তোমরা অবশ্যই যাক্কূম গাছ থেকে খাবে,
অতঃপর তা দ্বারা উদর পূর্ণ করবে,
"Then you will fill your bellies therewith,
অতঃপর তা দিয়ে পেট ভর্তি করবে।
অতঃপর তার উপর পান করবে উত্তপ্ত পানি।
"And drink boiling water on top of it.
তদুপরি পান করবে প্রচন্ড উত্তপ্ত পানি।
পান করবে পিপাসিত উটের ন্যায়।
"And you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!"
অতঃপর তোমরা তা পান করবে তৃষ্ণাতুর উটের ন্যায়।
কেয়ামতের দিন এটাই হবে তাদের আপ্যায়ন।
That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense!
প্রতিফল দিবসে এই হবে তাদের মেহমানদারী,
আমি সৃষ্টি করেছি তোমাদেরকে। অতঃপর কেন তোমরা তা সত্য বলে বিশ্বাস কর না।
We created you: then why do you believe not?
আমিই তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছি: তাহলে কেন তোমরা তা বিশ্বাস করছ না?
তোমরা কি ভেবে দেখেছ, তোমাদের বীর্যপাত সম্পর্কে।
Then tell Me (about) the (human) semen that you emit.
তোমরা কি ভেবে দেখেছ, তোমরা যে বীর্যপাত করছ সে সম্পর্কে?
তোমরা তাকে সৃষ্টি কর, না আমি সৃষ্টি করি?
Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator?
তা কি তোমরা সৃষ্টি কর, না আমিই তার স্রষ্টা?
আমি তোমাদের মৃত্যুকাল নির্ধারিত করেছি এবং আমি অক্ষম নই।
We have decreed death to you all, and We are not outstripped,
আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে মৃত্যু নির্ধারণ করেছি এবং আমাকে অক্ষম করা যাবে না,
এ ব্যাপারে যে, তোমাদের পরিবর্তে তোমাদের মত লোককে নিয়ে আসি এবং তোমাদেরকে এমন করে দেই, যা তোমরা জান না।
To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not.
তোমাদের স্থানে তোমাদের বিকল্প আনয়ন করতে এবং তোমাদেরকে এমনভাবে সৃষ্টি করতে যা তোমরা জান না।
তোমরা অবগত হয়েছ প্রথম সৃষ্টি সম্পর্কে, তবে তোমরা অনুধাবন কর না কেন?
And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam): why then do you not remember (or take heed)?
আর তোমরা তো প্রথম সৃষ্টি সম্পর্কে জেনেছ, তবে কেন তোমরা উপদেশ গ্রহণ করছ না?
তোমরা যে বীজ বপন কর, সে সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ কি?
Then tell Me about the seed that you sow in the ground.
তোমরা আমাকে বল, তোমরা যমীনে যা বপন কর সে ব্যাপারে,
তোমরা তাকে উৎপন্ন কর, না আমি উৎপন্নকারী ?
Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower?
তোমরা তা অঙ্কুরিত কর, না আমি অঙ্কুরিত করি?
আমি ইচ্ছা করলে তাকে খড়কুটা করে দিতে পারি, অতঃপর হয়ে যাবে তোমরা বিস্ময়াবিষ্ট।
Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment) [Tafsir Ibn Kathir].
আমি চাইলে তা খড়-কুটায় পরিণত করতে পারি, তখন তোমরা পরিতাপ করতে থাকবে-
বলবেঃ আমরা তো ঋণের চাপে পড়ে গেলাম;
(Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or have lost the money without any profit, or are punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation)! (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)
(এই বলে,) ‘নিশ্চয় আমরা দায়গ্রস্ত হয়ে গেলাম’।
বরং আমরা হূত সর্বস্ব হয়ে পড়লাম।
"Nay, but we are deprived!"
‘বরং আমরা মাহরূম হয়েছি’।
তোমরা যে পানি পান কর, সে সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ কি?
Then tell Me about the water that you drink.
তোমরা যে পানি পান কর সে ব্যাপারে আমাকে বল।
তোমরা তা মেঘ থেকে নামিয়ে আন, না আমি বর্ষন করি?
Is it you who cause it from the rain-clouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down?
বৃষ্টিভরা মেঘ থেকে তোমরা কি তা বর্ষণ কর, না আমি বৃষ্টি বর্ষণকারী?
আমি ইচ্ছা করলে তাকে লোনা করে দিতে পারি, অতঃপর তোমরা কেন কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর না?
If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable): why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)?
ইচ্ছা করলে আমি তা লবণাক্ত করে দিতে পারি: তবুও কেন তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞ হও না?
তোমরা যে অগ্নি প্রজ্জ্বলিত কর, সে সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ কি?
Then tell Me about the fire which you kindle.
তোমরা যে আগুন জ্বালাও সে ব্যাপারে আমাকে বল,
তোমরা কি এর বৃক্ষ সৃষ্টি করেছ, না আমি সৃষ্টি করেছি ?
Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?
তোমরাই কি এর (লাকড়ির গাছ) উৎপাদন কর, না আমি করি?
আমি সেই বৃক্ষকে করেছি স্মরণিকা এবং মরুবাসীদের জন্য সামগ্রী।
We have made it a Reminder (of the Hell-fire in the Hereafter), and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world).
একে আমি করেছি এক স্মারক ও মরুবাসীর প্রয়োজনীয় বস্তু।
অতএব, আপনি আপনার মহান পালনকর্তার নামে পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করুন।
Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
অতএব তোমার মহান রবের নামে তাসবীহ পাঠ কর।
অতএব, আমি তারকারাজির অস্তাচলের শপথ করছি,
So I swear by the setting of the stars.
সুতরাং আমি কসম করছি নক্ষত্ররাজির অস্তাচলের,
নিশ্চয় এটা এক মহা শপথ - যদি তোমরা জানতে।
And verily that is indeed a great oath, if you but know.
আর নিশ্চয় এটি এক মহাকসম, যদি তোমরা জানতে,
নিশ্চয় এটা সম্মানিত কোরআন,
That (this) is indeed an honourable recitation (the Noble Qur'an).
নিশ্চয় এটি মহিমান্বিত কুরআন,
যা আছে এক গোপন কিতাবে,
In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz ).
যা আছে সুরক্ষিত কিতাবে,
যারা পাক - পবিত্র, তারা ব্যতীত অন্য কেউ একে স্পর্শ করবে না।
Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels).
কেউ তা স্পর্শ করবে না পবিত্রগণ ছাড়া।
এটা বিশ্ব - পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে অবতীর্ণ।
A Revelation (this Qur'an) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
তা সৃষ্টিকুলের রবের কাছ থেকে নাযিলকৃত।
তবুও কি তোমরা এই বাণীর প্রতি শৈথিল্য পদর্শন করবে?
Is it such a talk (this Qur'an) that you (disbelievers) deny?
তবে কি তোমরা এই বাণী তুচ্ছ গণ্য করছ?
এবং একে মিথ্যা বলাকেই তোমরা তোমাদের ভূমিকায় পরিণত করবে?
And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, you deny (Him by disbelief)!
আর তোমরা তোমাদের রিয্ক বানিয়ে নিয়েছ যে, তোমরা মিথ্যা আরোপ করবে।
অতঃপর যখন কারও প্রাণ কন্ঠাগত হয়।
Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat?
সুতরাং কেন নয়- যখন রূহ কণ্ঠদেশে পৌঁছে যায়?
এবং তোমরা তাকিয়ে থাক,
And you at the moment are looking on,
আর তখন তোমরা কেবল চেয়ে থাক।
তখন আমি তোমাদের অপেক্ষা তার অধিক নিকটে থাকি; কিন্তু তোমরা দেখ না।
But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, (Tafsir At-Tabari)
আর তোমাদের চাইতে আমি তার খুব কাছে; কিন্তু তোমরা দেখতে পাও না।
যদি তোমাদের হিসাব - কিতাব না হওয়াই ঠিক হয়,
Then why do you not - if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment) -
তোমাদের যদি প্রতিফল দেয়া না হয়, তাহলে তোমরা কেন
তবে তোমরা এই আত্মাকে ফিরাও না কেন, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও ?
Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful?
ফিরিয়ে আনছ না রূহকে, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও?
যদি সে নৈকট্যশীলদের একজন হয়;
Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah),
অতঃপর সে যদি নৈকট্যপ্রাপ্তদের অন্যতম হয়,
তবে তার জন্যে আছে সুখ, উত্তম রিযিক এবং নেয়ামতে ভরা উদ্যান।
(There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of Delights (Paradise).
তবে তার জন্য থাকবে বিশ্রাম, উত্তম জীবনোপকরণ ও সুখময় জান্নাত।
আর যদি সে ডান পার্শ্বস্থদের একজন হয়,
And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand,
আর সে যদি হয় ডানদিকের একজন,
তবে তাকে বলা হবেঃ তোমার জন্যে ডানপার্শ্বসস্থদের পক্ষ থেকে সালাম।
Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for those on the right Hand.
তবে (তাকে বলা হবে), ‘তোমাকে সালাম, যেহেতু তুমি ডানদিকের একজন’।
আর যদি সে পথভ্রষ্ট মিথ্যারোপকারীদের একজন হয়,
But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism),
আর সে যদি হয় অস্বীকারকারী ও পথভ্রষ্ট,
তবে তার আপ্যায়ন হবে উত্তপ্ত পানি দ্বারা।
Then for him is an entertainment with boiling water.
তবে তার মেহমানদারী হবে প্রচন্ড উত্তপ্ত পানি দিয়ে,
এবং সে নিক্ষিপ্ত হবে অগ্নিতে।
And burning in Hell-fire.
আর জ্বলন্ত আগুনে প্রজ্জ্বলনে।
এটা ধ্রুব সত্য।
Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty.
নিশ্চয় এটি অবধারিত সত্য।
অতএব, আপনি আপনার মহান পালনকর্তার নামে পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করুন।
So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
অতএব তোমার মহান রবের নামে তাসবীহ পাঠ কর।
