Chapter 19, 98 verses
কাফ - হা - ইয়া - 'আইন - স্বাদ।
Kaf Ha Ya Ain Suad.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Kaf. Ha. Ya. A'in. Sad.
كٓهيعٓصٓ
এ তাঁর বান্দা যাকারিয়ার প্রতি তোমার প্রভুর অনুগ্রহের বিবরণ।
A mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zakariya.
A mention of the mercy of thy Lord unto His servant Zachariah.
ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ
স্মরণ করো, তিনি তাঁর প্রভুর প্রতি মৃদু স্বরে আহ্বান করলেন - -
When he called upon his Lord in a low voice,
When he cried unto his Lord a cry in secret,
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّا
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমার প্রভু! আমার ভেতরের হাড় - গোড় জিরজিরে হয়ে গেছে আর মাথাটি হয়ে গেছে জড়ভরত পাকাচুল বিশিষ্ট, আর আমার প্রভু! আমি তো তোমার কাছে আমার প্রার্থনায় কখনো নিরাশ হই নি।
He said: My Lord! surely my bones are weakened and my head flares with hoariness, and, my Lord! I have never been unsuccessful in my prayer to Thee:
Saying: My Lord! Lo! the bones of me wax feeble and my head is shining with grey hair, and I have never been unblest in prayer to Thee, my Lord.
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا
''আর আমি অবশ্য আশংকা করছি আমার পরে আমার জ্ঞাতিগোষ্ঠীদের, আর আমার স্ত্রী বন্ধ্যা, সেজন্য তোমার কাছ থেকে আমাকে একজন উত্তরাধিকারী প্রদান করো, - -
And surely I fear my cousins after me, and my wife is barren, therefore grant me from Thyself an heir,
Lo! I fear my kinsfolk after me, since my wife is barren. Oh, give me from Thy presence a successor
وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا
''যে আমাকে উত্তরাধিকার করবে এবং ইয়াকুবের বংশধরদের উত্তরাধিকার করবে, আর আমার প্রভু, তাকে সন্তোষভাজন বানিয়ো।’’
Who should inherit me and inherit from the children of Yaqoub, and make him, my Lord, one in whom Thou art well pleased.
Who shall inherit of me and inherit (also) of the house of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, acceptable (unto Thee).
يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا
''হে যাকারিয়া, নিঃসন্দেহ আমরা তোমাকে সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছি একটি বেটা - ছেলের, তার নাম হবে ইয়াহ্য়া, এর আগে কাউকেও আমরা তার নামধর বানাই নি।’’
O Zakariya! surely We give you good news of a boy whose name shall be Yahya: We have not made before anyone his equal.
(It was said unto him): O Zachariah! Lo! We bring thee tidings of a son whose name is John; we have given the same name to none before (him).
يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমার প্রভু! কেমন ক’রে আমার ছেলে হবে যখন আমার স্ত্রী বন্ধ্যা আর আমিও বার্ধক্যের শেষ সীমায় পৌঁছে গেছি!
He said: O my Lord! when shall I have a son, and my wife is barren, and I myself have reached indeed the extreme degree of old age?
He said: My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren and I have reached infirm old age ?
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا
সে বললে - - ''এমনটাই হবে যেমন তুমি ভাব, তোমার প্রভু বলেছেন - - 'এটি আমার জন্য সহজসাধ্য, আর আমি তো তোমাকে এর আগে সৃষ্টি করেছি যখন তুমি কিছুই ছিলে না’।’’
He said: So shall it be, your Lord says: It is easy to Me, and indeed I created you before, when you were nothing.
He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me, even as I created thee before, when thou wast naught.
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْـًٔا
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমার প্রভু! আমার জন্য একটি নিদর্শন স্থাপন করো।’’ তিনি বললেন, ''তোমার নিদর্শন হচ্ছে - - তুমি লোকের সাথে কথা বলবে না তিন রাত্রি পর্যন্ত সুস্থাবস্থায় থেকে।’’
He said: My Lord! give me a sign. He said: Your sign is that you will not be able to speak to the people three nights while in sound health.
He said: My Lord! Appoint for me some token. He said: Thy token is that thou, with no bodily defect, shalt not speak unto mankind three nights.
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا
তারপর তিনি উপাসনার কামরা থেকে তাঁর লোকদের কাছে বেরুলেন এবং তাদের প্রতি ঘোষণা করলেন - - ''মহিমা কীর্তন করো সকালে ও সন্ধ্যায়।’’
So he went forth to his people from his place of worship, then he made known to them that they should glorify (Allah) morning and evening.
Then he came forth unto his people from the sanctuary, and signified to them: Glorify your Lord at break of day and fall of night.
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
''হে ইয়াহ্য়া, ধর্মগ্রন্থ শক্ত ক’রে ধারণ করো।’’ আর আমরা তাঁকে জ্ঞানদান করেছিলাম শৈশবেই,
O Yahya! take hold of the Book with strength, and We granted him wisdom while yet a child
(And it was said unto his son): O John! Hold fast the Scripture. And we gave him wisdom when a child,
يَٰيَحْيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ٱلْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا
আর আমাদের তরফ থেকে সহৃদয়তা ও পবিত্রতা। আর তিনি ছিলেন ধর্মপরায়ণ,
And tenderness from Us and purity, and he was one who guarded (against evil),
And compassion from Our presence, and purity; and he was devout,
وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةً وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا
আর তাঁর পিতামাতার প্রতি অনুগত, আর তিনি ছিলেন না উদ্ধত, অবাধ্য।
And dutiful to his parents, and he was not insolent, disobedient.
And dutiful toward his parents. And he was not arrogant, rebellious.
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا
আর শান্তি তাঁর উপরে যেদিন তাঁর জন্ম হয়েছিল ও যেদিন তিনি মারা গিয়েছিলেন আর যেদিন তাঁকে পুরুত্থিত করা হবে জীবিত অবস্থায়।
And peace on him on the day he was born, and on the day he dies, and on the day he is raised to life
Peace on him the day he was born, and the day he dieth and the day he shall be raised alive!
وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
আর গ্রন্থখানাতে মরিয়মের কথা স্মরণ করো - - যখন তিনি তাঁর পরিবারবর্গ থেকে সরে গিয়েছিলেন পুবদিকের এক জায়গায়,
And mention Marium in the Book when she drew aside from her family to an eastern place;
And make mention of Mary in the Scripture, when she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East,
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا
তারপর তিনি তাদের থেকে পর্দা অবলন্বন করলেন, তখন আমরা তাঁর কাছে পাঠালাম আমাদের দূতকে, কাজেই তাঁর কাছে সে এক পুরোপুরি মানুষের অনুরূপে দেখা দিল।
So she took a veil (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our spirit, and there appeared to her a well - made man.
And had chosen seclusion from them. Then We sent unto her Our Spirit and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man.
فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا
তিনি বললেন - - ''নিঃসন্দেহ আমি তোমার থেকে আশ্রয় খুজঁছি পরম করুণাময়ের কাছে, যদি তুমি ধর্মভীরু হও।’’
She said: Surely I fly for refuge from you to the Beneficent Allah, if you are one guarding (against evil).
She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art God - fearing.
قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا
সে বললে - - ''আমি তো শুধু তোমার প্রভুর বাণীবাহক - - 'যে আমি তোমাকে দান করব এক নিখুঁত ছেলে’।’’
He said: I am only a messenger of your Lord: That I will give you a pure boy.
He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son.
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَٰمًا زَكِيًّا
তিনি বললেন - - ''কেমন ক’রে আমার ছেলে হবে, যেহেতু আমাকে পুরুষ - মানুষ স্পর্শ করে নি এবং আমি অসতীও নই?’’
She said: When shall I have a boy and no mortal has yet touched me, nor have I been unchaste?
She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither have I been unchaste ?
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا
সে বললে - - ''মনটা হবে! তোমার প্রভু বলেছেন - - 'এটি আমার জন্য সহজ - সাধ্য। আর যেন আমরা তাঁকে লোকদের জন্য একটি নিদর্শন বানাতে পারি, আর আমাদের থেকে এক করুণা, আর এ তো এক স্থিরীকৃত ব্যাপার’।’’
He said: Even so; your Lord says: It is easy to Me: and that We may make him a sign to men and a mercy from Us, and it is a matter which has been decreed.
He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And (it will be) that We may make of him a revelation for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained.
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا
তারপর তিনি তাঁকে গর্ভে ধারণ করলেন, এবং তৎসহ এক দূরবর্তী স্থানে সরে গেলেন।
So she conceived him; then withdrew herself with him to a remote place.
And she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place.
فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا
তখন প্রসব - বেদনা তাঁকে এক খেজুর গাছের গুড়িতে নিয়ে এল। তিনি বললেন - - ''হায় আমার দুর্ভোগ! এর আগে যদি আমি মরেই যেতাম এবং সম্পূর্ণ বিস্মৃতিতে বিস্মৃত হতাম!’’
And the throes (of childbirth) compelled her to betake herself to the trunk of a palm tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died before this, and had been a thing quite forgotten!
And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm - tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this and had become a thing of naught, forgotten!
فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا
তখন তাঁর নিচে থেকে তাঁকে ডেকে বললে - - ''দুঃখ করো না, তোমার প্রভু অবশ্য তোমার নিচে দিয়ে একটি জলধারা রেখেছেন।’’
Then (the child) called out to her from beneath her: Grieve not, surely your Lord has made a stream to flow beneath you;
Then (one) cried unto her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee,
فَنَادَىٰهَا مِن تَحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا
''আর খেজুর গাছের কান্ডটি তোমার দিকে টানতে থাক, এটি তোমার উপরে টাটকা - পাকা খেজুর ফেলবে।
And shake towards you the trunk of the palmtree, it will drop on you fresh ripe dates:
And shake the trunk of the palm - tree toward thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee.
وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا
''সুতরাং খাও ও পান করো এবং চোখ জুড়াও। আর লোকজনের কাউকে যদি দেখতে পাও তবে বলো - - 'আমি পরম করুণাময়ের জন্য রোযা রাখার মানত করেছি, কাজেই আমি আজ কোনো লোকের সঙ্গে কথাবার্তা বলব না’।’’
So eat and drink and refresh the eye. Then if you see any mortal, say: Surely I have vowed a fast to the Beneficent Allah, so I shall not speak to any man today.
So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal.
فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًا فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا
তারপর তিনি তাঁকে নিয়ে এলেন তাঁর লোকদের কাছে তাঁকে চড়িয়ে। তারা বললে - - ''হে মরিয়ম! তুমি আলবৎ এক অদ্ভুত ফেসাদ নিয়ে এসেছ।
And she came to her people with him, carrying him (with her). They said: O Marium! surely you have done a strange thing.
Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing.
فَأَتَتْ بِهِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًٔا فَرِيًّا
''হে হারূনের ভগিনী! তোমার বাপ তো খারাপ লোক ছিল না এবং তোমার মা’ও পাপিষ্ঠা নয়!’’
O sister of Haroun! your father was not a bad man, nor, was your mother an unchaste woman.
O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot.
يَٰٓأُخْتَ هَٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا
তখন তিনি তাঁর দিকে ইশারা করলেন। তারা বললে - - ''আমরা কেমন ক’রে কথা বলব তার সঙ্গে যে দোলনার শিশু?’’
But she pointed to him. They said: How should we speak to one who was a child in the cradle?
Then she pointed to him. They said: How can we talk to one who is in the cradle, a young boy ?
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ قَالُوا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا
তিনি বললেন - - ''নিঃসন্দেহ আমি র একজন বান্দা, তিনি আমাকে কিতাব দিয়েছেন এবং আমাকে নবী বানিয়েছেন,
He said: Surely I am a servant of Allah; He has given me the Book and made me a prophet;
He spake: Lo! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the Scripture and hath appointed me a Prophet,
قَالَ إِنِّى عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَىٰنِىَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّا
''আর তিনি আমাকে মঙ্গলময় করেছেন যেখানেই আমি থাকি না কেন, আর তিনি আমার প্রতি বিধান দিয়েছেন পড়তে ও যাকাত দিতে যতদিন আমি জীবিত অবস্থায় অবস্থান করি,
And He has made me blessed wherever I may be, and He has enjoined on me prayer and poor - rate so long as I live;
And hath made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and hath enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive,
وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا
''আর আমার মায়ের প্রতি অনুগত থাকতে, আর তিনি আমাকে বিদ্রোহীভাবাপন্ন হতভাগ্য করেন নি।
And dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me insolent, unblessed;
And (hath made me) dutiful toward her who bore me, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest.
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا
''আর শান্তি আমার উপরে যেদিন আমার জন্ম হয়েছিল, আর যেদিন আমি মারা যাব আর যেদিন আমাকে পুনরুত্থিত করা হবে জীবিত অবস্থায়।’’
And peace on me on the day I was born, and on the day I die, and on the day I am raised to life.
Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!
وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
এই হচ্ছে মরিয়মপুত্র ঈসা, সত্য বিবৃতি যে - সন্বন্ধে তারা বিতর্ক করে।
Such is Isa, son of Marium; (this is) the saying of truth about which they dispute.
Such was Jesus, son of Mary: (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt.
ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
এ র জন্য নয় যে তিনি এক সন্তান গ্রহণ করবেন। তাঁরই সব মহিমা! তিনি যখন কোনো - কিছু সিদ্ধান্ত করেন তখন সেজন্য তিনি শুধু বলেন - - 'হও’, আর তা হয়ে যায়।
It beseems not Allah that He should take to Himself a son, glory to be Him; when He has decreed a matter He only says to it "Be," and it is.
It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥٓ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
''আর নিশ্চয় আমার প্রভু ও তোমাদেরও প্রভু, অতএব তাঁরই এবাদত করো। এটিই সহজ - সঠিক পথ।’’
And surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path.
And lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So serve Him. That is the right path.
وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
কিন্তু গোত্রেরা তাদের পরস্পরের মধ্য মতানৈক্য সৃষ্টি করল, সুতরাং ধিক্ তাদের প্রতি যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে সেই ভয়ঙ্কর দিনে হাজিরাদানের কারণে।
But parties from among them disagreed with each other, so woe to those who disbelieve, because of presence on a great day.
The sects among them differ: but woe unto the disbelievers from the meeting of an awful Day.
فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
কত স্পষ্টভাবে তারা শুনবে ও দেখবে সেইদিন যেদিন তারা আমাদের কাছে আসবে! কিন্তু অন্যায়কারীরা আজ স্পষ্ট ভুলের মধ্যে রয়েছে।
How clearly shall they hear and how clearly shall they see on the day when they come to Us; but the unjust this day are in manifest error.
See and hear them on the Day they come unto Us! yet the evil - doers are to - day in error manifest.
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا لَٰكِنِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
আর তাদের সতর্ক করে দাও সেই দারুণ পরিতাপের দিন সন্বন্ধে যখন ব্যাপারের সিদ্ধান্ত হয়ে যাবে। আর তারা তো গাফিলতিতে রয়েছে, আর তারা বিশ্বাসও করে না।
And warn them of the day of intense regret, when the matter shall have been decided; and they are (now) in negligence and they do not believe.
And warn them of the Day of anguish when the case hath been decided. Now they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not.
وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
নিঃসন্দেহ আমরা নিজেরাই পৃথিবী ও তার উপরে যারা আছে সে - সমস্তের উত্তরাধিকারী, আর আমাদের কাছেই তাদের ফিরিয়ে আনা হবে।
Surely We inherit the earth and all those who are on it, and to Us they shall be returned.
Lo! We, only We, inherit the earth and all who are thereon, and unto Us they are returned.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
আর গ্রন্থখানার মধ্যে ইব্রাহীমের কথা স্মরণ করো। নিঃসন্দেহ তিনি ছিলেন সত্য - পরায়ণ, একজন নবী।
And mention Ibrahim in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet.
And make mention (O Muhammad) in the Scripture of Abraham. Lo! he was a saint, a prophet.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا
দেখো! তিনি তাঁর পিতৃপুরুষকে বললেন - - ''হে আমার বাপা! তুমি কেন তার উপাসনা কর যে শোনে না ও দেখে না এবং তোমাকে কোনো কিছুতেই সমৃদ্ধ করে না?
When he said to his father; O my father! why do you worship what neither hears nor sees, nor does it avail you in the least:
When he said unto his father: O my father! Why worshippest thou that which heareth not nor seeth, nor can in aught avail thee ?
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَٰٓأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْـًٔا
''হে আমার আব্বু! নিঃসন্দেহ আমার কাছে অবশ্যই জ্ঞান এসেছে যা তোমার কাছে আসে নি, সুতরাং আমার অনুসরণ কর, আমি তোমাকে সঠিক পথে পরিচালিত করব।
O my father! truly the knowledge has come to me which has not come to you, therefore follow me, I will guide you on a right path:
O my father! Lo! there hath come unto me of knowledge that which came not unto thee. So follow me, and I will lead thee on a right path.
يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًا سَوِيًّا
''হে আমার বাপা! শয়তানের উপাসনা করো না। নিশ্চয়ই শয়তান পরম করুণাময়ের অবাধ্য।
O my father! serve not the Shaitan, surely the Shaitan is disobedient to the Beneficent Allah:
O my father! Serve not the devil. Lo! the devil is a rebel unto the Beneficent.
يَٰٓأَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَصِيًّا
''হে আমার বাপুজি! আমি আলবৎ আশঙ্কা করি যে পরম করুণাময়ের কাছ থেকে শাস্তি তোমাকে স্পর্শ করবে, ফলে তুমি হয়ে পড়বে শয়তানের সঙ্গিসাথী।’
O my father! surely I fear that a punishment from the Beneficent Allah should afflict you so that you should be a friend of the Shaitan.
O my father! Lo! I fear lest a punishment from the Beneficent overtake thee so that thou become a comrade of the devil.
يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَلِيًّا
সে বললে - - ''হে ইব্রাহীম, তুমি কি আমার উপাস্যদের থেকে বীতশ্রদ্ধ? তুমি যদি না থামো তবে তোমাকে আমি নিশ্চিত পাথর ছুঁড়ে তাড়া করব, আর তুমি আমার থেকে এই মুহূর্তে দূর হয়ে যাও।’’
He said: Do you dislike my gods, O Ibrahim? If you do not desist I will certainly revile you, and leave me for a time.
He said: Rejectest thou my gods, O Abraham ? If thou cease not, I shall surely stone thee. Depart from me a long while!
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّا
তিনি বললেন, ''তোমার উপরে শান্তি, আমি অবশ্য আমার প্রভুর কাছে তোমার জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করব। নিঃসন্দেহ তিনি আমার প্রতি পরম স্নেহময়।
He said: Peace be on you, I will pray to my Lord to forgive you; surely He is ever Affectionate to me:
He said: Peace be unto thee! I shall ask forgiveness of my Lord for thee. Lo! He was ever gracious unto me.
قَالَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّا
''আর আমি সরে যাচ্ছি তোমাদের থেকে ও আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে দিয়ে তোমরা যাদের ডাকো ওদের থেকে, আর আমি আমার প্রভুকেই ডাকব, হতে পারে যে আমার প্রভুকে ডেকে আমি করুণাবঞ্চিত হব না।’’
And I will withdraw from you and what you call on besides Allah, and I will call upon my Lord; may be I shall not remain unblessed in calling upon my Lord.
I shall withdraw from you and that unto which ye pray beside Allah, and I shall pray unto my Lord. It may be that, in prayer unto my Lord, I shall not be unblest.
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّا
তারপর যখন তিনি সরে গেলেন তাদের থেকে ও কে ছেড়ে দিয়ে তারা যাদের ডাকত ওদের থেকে, আমরা তাঁকে দিয়েছিলাম ইসহাককে ও ইয়াকুবকে। আর আমরা প্রত্যেককেই বানিয়েছিলাম নবী।
So when he withdrew from them and what they worshipped besides Allah, We gave to him Ishaq and Yaqoub, and each one of them We made a prophet.
So, when he had withdrawn from them and that which they were worshipping beside Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a prophet.
فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا
আর তাঁদের আমরা দান করেছিলাম আমাদের করুণা থেকে, আর আমরা তাঁদের জন্য নির্ধারণ করেছিলাম সমুচ্চ সুখ্যাতি।
And We granted to them of Our mercy, and We left (behind them) a truthful mention of eminence for them.
And we gave them of Our mercy, and assigned to them a high and true renown.
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا
আর গ্রন্থখানাতে মূসার কথা স্মরণ করো। নিঃসন্দেহ তিনি ছিলেন প্রিয়প্রাত্র, আর তিনি ছিলেন একজন নবী।
And mention Musa in the Book; surely he was one purified, and he was an apostle, a prophet.
And make mention in the Scripture of Moses. Lo! he was chosen, and he was a messenger (of Allah), a prophet.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
আর আমরা তাঁকে ডেকেছিলাম পাহাড়ের ডান দিক থেকে, এবং আমরা তাঁকে নিকটে এনেছিলাম যোগাযোগে।
And We called to him from the blessed side of the mountain, and We made him draw nigh, holding communion (with Us).
We called him from the right slope of the Mount, and brought him nigh in communion.
وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَٰهُ نَجِيًّا
আর আমাদের করুণা বশত আমরা তাঁকে দিয়েছিলাম তাঁর ভাই হারুনকে নবীরূপে।
And We gave to him out of Our mercy his brother Haroun a prophet.
And We bestowed upon him of Our mercy his brother Aaron, a prophet (likewise).
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ نَبِيًّا
আর কিতাবখানাতে স্মরণ করো ইসমাইলের কথা। নিঃসন্দেহ তিনি ছিলেন ওয়াদাতে সত্যপরায়ণ, আর তিনি ছিলেন একজন রসূল, একজন নবী।
And mention Ismail in the Book; surely he was truthful in (his) promise, and he was an apostle, a prophet.
And make mention in the Scripture of Ishmael. Lo! he was a keeper of his promise, and he was a messenger (of Allah), a prophet.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
আর তিনি তাঁর পরিজনবর্গকে নামাযের ও যাকাতের নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন, আর তাঁর প্রভুর কাছে তিনি ছিলেন সন্তোষভাজন।
And he enjoined on his family prayer and almsgiving, and was one in whom his Lord was well pleased.
He enjoined upon his people worship and almsgiving, and was acceptable in the sight of his Lord.
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّا
আর কিতাবখানাতে ইদ্রীসের কথা স্মরণ করো। নিঃসন্দেহ তিনি ছিলেন সত্যপরায়ণ, একজন নবী।
And mention Idris in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet,
And make mention in the Scripture of Idris. Lo! he was a saint, a prophet;
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا
আর আমরা তাঁকে উন্নীত করেছিলাম অত্যুচ্চ পর্যায়ে।
And We raised him high in Heaven.
And We raised him to high station.
وَرَفَعْنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
এরাই তাঁরা যাঁদের উপরে অনুগ্রহ করেছিলেন, - - আদমসন্তানদের থেকে নবীদের মধ্যেকার, আর যাদের আমরা নূহের সাথে বহন করেছিলাম তাদের মধ্যেকার, আর ইব্রাহীম ও ইসমাইলের বংশধরদের মধ্যের এবং যাদের আমরা সৎপথে চালিয়েছিলাম ও মনোনীত করেছিলাম তাদের মধ্যেকার। যখনি পরম করুণাময়ের বাণী তাদের কাছে পাঠ করা হতো তারা লুটিয়ে পড়ত সিজদারত হয়ে ও অশ্রুমোচন করতে করতে।
These are they on whom Allah bestowed favors, from among the prophets of the seed of Adam, and of those whom We carried with Nuh, and of the seed of Ibrahim and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose; when the communications of the Beneficent Allah were recited to them, they fell down making obeisance and weeping.
These are they unto whom Allah showed favour from among the prophets, of the seed of Adam and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Noah, and of the seed of Abraham and Israel, and from among those whom We guided and chose. When the revelations of the Beneficent were recited unto them, they fell down, adoring and weeping.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ إِذَا
তারপর তাদের পরে এল পরবর্তিদল যারা বাদ দিল ও কামনা - লালসার অনুসরণ করল, সেজন্য তারা অচিরেই দেখতে পাবে বঞ্চনা, - -
But there came after them an evil generation, who neglected prayers and followed and sensual desires, so they win meet perdition,
Now there hath succeeded them a later generation whom have ruined worship and have followed lusts. But they will meet deception.
فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
তারা ছাড়া যে তওবা করে ও ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে, তারাই তবে বেহেশতে প্রবেশ করবে, আর তাদের প্রতি কোনো অন্যায় করা হবে না, - -
Except such as repent and believe and do good, these shall enter the garden, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly in any way:
Save him who shall repent and believe and do right. Such will enter the Garden, and they will not be wronged in aught -
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا
নন্দন কানন যা পরম করুণাময় তাঁর বান্দাদের জন্য ওয়াদা করেছেন জগতে। নিঃসন্দেহ তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতি সদাসর্বদা এসেই থাকে।
The gardens of perpetuity which the Beneficent Allah has promised to His servants while unseen; surely His promise shall come to pass.
Gardens of Eden, which the Beneficent hath promised to His slaves in the unseen. Lo! His promise is ever sure of fulfilment -
جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّا
তারা সেখানে শুনবে না কোনো খেলো কথা 'সালাম’ ব্যতীত। আর তাদের জন্য সেখানে রয়েছে তাদের রিযেক সকালে ও সন্ধ্যায়।
They shall not hear therein any vain discourse, but only: Peace, and they shall have their sustenance therein morning and evening.
They hear therein no idle talk, but only Peace; and therein they have food for morn and evening.
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَٰمًا وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
এই সেই বেহেশত যেটি আমরা উত্তরাধিকারসূত্রে দিয়েছি আমাদের বান্দাদের মধ্যের তাদের যারা ধর্মপরায়ণ।
This is the garden which We cause those of Our servants to inherit who guard (against evil).
Such is the Garden which We cause the devout among Our bondmen to inherit.
تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا
আর - - ''আমরা অবতরণ করি না তোমার প্রভুর নির্দেশ ব্যতীত, যা কিছু আমাদের সামনে রয়েছে ও যা কিছু আমাদের পেছনে আর যা কিছু রয়েছে এই দুইয়ের মধ্যে সে সমস্ত তাঁরই, আর তোমার প্রভু ভুলো নন।
And we do not descend but by the command of your Lord; to Him belongs whatever is before us and whatever is behind us and whatever is between these, and your Lord is not forgetful.
We (angels) come not down save by commandment of thy Lord. Unto Him belongeth all that is before us and all that is behind us and all that is between those two, and thy Lord was never forgetful -
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
''তিনি মহাকাশমন্ডল ও পৃথিবীর এবং এ দুইয়ের মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে তার প্রতিপালক প্রভু। সুতরাং তাঁকেই উপাসনা কর এবং তাঁর উপাসনায় অবিরাম সাধনা কর। তুমি কি কাউকে তাঁর সমকক্ষ জ্ঞান কর?’’
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, so serve Him and be patient in His service. Do you know any one equal to Him?
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! Therefor, worship thou Him and be thou steadfast in His service. Knowest thou one that can be named along with Him ?
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَٰدَتِهِۦ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّا
আর লোকে বলে - - ''কি! আমি যখন মরে যাব তখন কি আমাকে বের করে আনা হবে জীবিত অবস্থায়?’’
And says man: What! when I am dead shall I truly be brought forth alive?
And man saith: When I am dead, shall I forsooth be brought forth alive ?
وَيَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا
কি? মানুষ কি স্মরণ করে না যে আমরা তাকে ইতিপূর্বে সৃষ্টি করেছিলাম যখন সে কিছুই ছিল না?
Does not man remember that We created him before, when he was nothing?
Doth not man remember that We created him before, when he was naught ?
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْـًٔا
কাজেই তোমার প্রভুর কসম, আমরা অতি অবশ্য তাদের সমবেত করব, আর শয়তানদেরও, তারপর আমরা অবশ্যই তাদের হাজির করব জাহান্নামের চারিদিকে নতজানু অবস্থায়।
So by your Lord! We will most certainly gather them together and the Shaitans, then shall We certainly cause them to be present round hell on their knees.
And, by thy Lord, verily We shall assemble them and the devils, then We shall bring them, crouching, around hell.
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا
তারপর আমরা নিশ্চয় বের করে আনব প্রত্যেক দল থেকে তাদের মধ্যের ওকে যে পরম করুণাময়ের প্রতি সর্বাধিক অবাধ্য।
Then We will most certainly draw forth from every sect of them him who is most exorbitantly rebellious against the Beneficent Allah.
Then We shall pluck out from every sect whichever of them was most stubborn in rebellion to the Beneficent.
ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عِتِيًّا
আর আমরা নিশ্চয় ভাল জানি তাদের যারা নিজেরাই সেখানে দগ্ধ হবার জন্যে সব চাইতে যোগ্য।
Again We do certainly know best those who deserve most to be burned therein.
And surely We are Best Aware of those most worthy to be burned therein.
ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا
আর তোমাদের মধ্যে এমন একজনও নেই যে সেখানে না আসবে, - - এটি তোমার প্রভুর জন্যে এক অনিবার্য সিদ্ধান্ত।
And there is not one of you but shall come to it; this is an unavoidable decree of your Lord.
There is not one of you but shall approach it. That is a fixed ordinance of thy Lord.
وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا
আর আমরা উদ্ধার করব তাদের যারা ধর্মপরায়ণতা অবলন্বন করে, আর অন্যায়কারীদের সেখানে রেখে দেব নতজানু অবস্থায়।
And We will deliver those who guarded (against evil), and We will leave the unjust therein on their knees.
Then We shall rescue those who kept from evil, and leave the evil - doers crouching there.
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا
আর যখন তাদের কাছে আমাদের সুস্পষ্ট বাণীসমূহ পড়া হয় তখন যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তারা বলে যারা বিশ্বাস করেছে তাদের - - ''দুই দলের মধ্যে কোনটি প্রতিষ্ঠার দিকে শ্রেষ্ঠতর ও জাঁকজমকে গুলজার?’’
And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Which of the two parties is best in abiding and best in assembly?
And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Which of the two parties (yours or ours) is better in position, and more imposing as an army ?
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا
আর তাদের আগে কত মানবগোষ্ঠীকে আমরা ধ্বংস করেছি যারা ধনসম্পদে ও বাগাড়ন্বরে জমজমাট ছিল!
And how many of the generations have We destroyed before them who were better in respect of goods and outward appearance!
How many a generation have We destroyed before them, who were more imposing in respect of gear and outward seeming!
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَٰثًا وَرِءْيًا
বলো - - ''যে বিভ্রান্তিতে রয়েছে পরম করুণাময় তার জন্য ঢিলে দিয়ে লন্বা করে দেন যে পর্যন্ত না তারা দেখতে পায় যা তাদের ওয়াদা করা হয়েছিল - - হয় শাস্তি নয়তো ঘড়িঘন্টা, তখন তারা জানতে পারবে কে হচ্ছে অবস্থানে বেশী নিকৃষ্ট এবং শক্তিসামর্থের বেশী দুর্বল।’’
Say: As for him who remains in error, the Beneficent Allah will surely prolong his length of days, until they see what they were threatened with, either the punishment or the hour; then they shall know who is in more evil plight and weaker in forces
Say: As for him who is in error, the Beneficent will verily prolong his span of life until, when they behold that which they were promised, whether it be punishment (in the world), or the Hour (of doom), they will know who is worse in position and who is weaker as an army.
قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلضَّلَٰلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَدًّا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًا
আর যারা সৎপথে চলে তাদের সুগতি বাড়িয়ে দেন, আর স্থায়ী সৎকর্ম তোমার প্রভুর কাছে পুরস্কার প্রদানের জন্য সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ আর সুফল ফলনের জন্যেও সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ।
And Allah increases in guidance those who go aright; and ever - abiding good works are with your Lord best in recompense and best in yielding fruit.
Allah increaseth in right guidance those who walk aright, and the good deeds which endure are better in thy Lord's sight for reward, and better for resort.
وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًى وَٱلْبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا
তুমি কি তাকে দেখেছ যে আমাদের বাণীসমূহ অবিশ্বাস করে ও বলে - - ''আমাকে আলবৎ ধনদৌলত ও সন্তানসন্ততি দেয়া হবে’’?
Have you, then, seen him who disbelieves in Our communications and says: I shall certainly be given wealth and children?
Hast thou seen him who disbelieveth in Our revelations and saith: Assuredly I shall be given wealth and children ?
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا
সে কি সন্বন্ধে জেনে গেছে, না কি সে পরম করুণাময়ের কাছ থেকে কোনো চুক্তি আদায় করেছে?
Has he gained knowledge of the unseen, or made a covenant with the Beneficent Allah?
Hath he perused the Unseen, or hath he made a pact with the Beneficent ?
أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
নিশ্চয়ই না! সে যা বলে তা সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আমরা লিখে রাখব, আর তার জন্য আমরা লম্বা করে দেব শাস্তির লম্বাই।
By no means! We write down what he says, and We will lengthen to him the length of the chastisement
Nay, but We shall record that which he saith and prolong for him a span of torment.
كَلَّا سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّا
আর সে যা বলে সে ব্যাপারে আমরা তাকে উত্তরাধিকার করব, আর আমাদের কাছে সে আসবে নিঃসঙ্গ অবস্থায়।
And We will inherit of him what he says, and he shall come to Us alone.
And We shall inherit from him that whereof he spake, and he will come unto Us, alone (without his wealth and children).
وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا
আর তারা কে ছেড়ে দিয়ে অন্য উপাস্য গ্রহণ করেছে যেন তারা তাদের জন্য হতে পারে এক সহায় সন্বল।
And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they should be to them a source of strength;
And they have chosen (other) gods beside Allah that they may be a power for them.
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّا
কখনোই না! তারা শীঘ্রই তাদের বন্দনা অস্বীকার করবে। আর তারা হবে এদের বিরোধিপক্ষ।
By no means! They shall soon deny their worshipping them, and they shall be adversaries to them.
Nay, but they will deny their worship of them, and become opponents unto them.
كَلَّا سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا
তুমি কি লক্ষ্য কর নি যে আমরা শয়তানদের পাঠিয়েছি অবিশ্বাসীদের নিকটে বিশেষ উসকানিতে উসকানি দিতে।
Do you not see that We have sent the Shaitans against the unbelievers, inciting them by incitement?
Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion ?
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا
সুতরাং তাদের জন্য ব্যস্ত হয়ো না। আমরা তো তাদের জন্য সংখ্যা গণনা করছি।
Therefore be not in haste against them, We only number out to them a number (of days).
So make no haste against them (O Muhammad). We do but number unto them a sum (of days).
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا
সেদিন ধর্মপরায়ণদের আমরা সমবেত করব পরম করুণাময়ের কাছে রাজদূতরূপে,
The day on which We will gather those who guard (against evil) to the Beneficent Allah to receive honors
On the day when We shall gather the righteous unto the Beneficent, a goodly company.
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًا
আর অপরাধীদের আমরা তাড়িয়ে নেব জাহান্নামের দিকে তৃষ্ণাতুর অবস্থায়।
And We will drive the guilty to hell thirsty
And drive the guilty unto hell, a weary herd,
وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا
পরম করুণাময়ের নিকট থেকে যে কোনো কড়ার লাভ করেছে সে ব্যতীত কারোর সুপারিশ করার ক্ষমতা থাকবে না।
They shall not control intercession, save he who has made a covenant with the Beneficent Allah.
They will have no power of intercession, save him who hath made a covenant with his Lord.
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
আর তারা বলে - - ''পরম করুণাময় একটি সন্তান গ্রহণ করেছেন।’’
And they say: The Beneficent Allah has taken (to Himself) a son.
And they say: The Beneficent hath taken unto Himself a son.
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا
তোমরা অবশ্যই এক বিকট ব্যপার অবতারণা করেছ।
Certainly you have made an abominable assertion
Assuredly ye utter a disastrous thing
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِدًّا
এর দ্বারা মহাকাশমন্ডল বিদীর্ণ হয়ে যাবার উপক্রম করছে আর পৃথিবী চূর্ণ - বিচূর্ণ হতে চলছে আর পাহাড়পর্বত খন্ডবিখন্ড হয়ে ভেঙ্গে পড়ছে - -
The heavens may almost be rent thereat, and the earth cleave asunder, and the mountains fall down in pieces,
Whereby almost the heavens are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins,
تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا
যেহেতু তারা পরম করুণাময়ের প্রতি সন্তান দাবি করছে।
That they ascribe a son to the Beneficent Allah.
That ye ascribe unto the Beneficent a son,
أَن دَعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًا
আর পরম করুণাময়ের পক্ষে এটি সমীচীন নয় যে তিনি সন্তান গ্রহণ করবেন।
And it is not worthy of the Beneficent Allah that He should take (to Himself) a son.
When it is not meet for (the Majesty of) the Beneficent that He should choose a son.
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
মহাকাশমন্ডলে ও পৃথিবীতে এমন কেউ নেই যে পরম করুণাময়ের কাছে আসবে বান্দারূপে ছাড়া।
There is no one in the heavens and the earth but will come to the Beneficent Allah as a servant.
There is none in the heavens and the earth but cometh unto the Beneficent as a slave.
إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًا
তিনি অবশ্যই তাদের হিসেব রেখেছেন, আর তিনি তাদের গণনা করছেন গুনতিতে।
Certainly He has a comprehensive knowledge of them and He has numbered them a (comprehensive) numbering.
Verily He knoweth them and numbereth them with (right) numbering.
لَّقَدْ أَحْصَىٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا
আর তাদের সবকয়জনকেই কিয়ামতের দিনে তাঁর কাছে আসতে হবে নিঃসঙ্গ অবস্থায়।
And every one of them will come to Him on the day of resurrection alone.
And each one of them will come unto Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone.
وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَرْدًا
নিঃসন্দেহ যারা ঈমান এনেছে ও সৎকর্ম করছে তাদের জন্য পরম করুণাময় এখনি যোগান ধরবেন প্রেম।
Surely (as for) those who believe and do good deeds for them will Allah bring about love.
Lo! those who believe and do good works, the Beneficent will appoint for them love.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا
সুতরাং আমরা তো এটিকে তোমার মাতৃভাষায় সহজবোধ্য করে দিয়েছি যেন এর দ্বারা তুমি ধর্মপরায়ণদের সুসংবাদ দিতে পার আর এর দ্বারা সাবধান করে দিতে পার বিতর্কপ্রিয় সম্প্রদায়কে।
So We have only made it easy in your tongue that you may give good news thereby to those who guard (against evil) and warn thereby a vehemently contentious people.
And We make (this Scripture) easy in thy tongue, (O Muhammad) only that thou mayst bear good tidings therewith unto those who ward off (evil), and warn therewith the froward folk.
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا
আর তাদের আগে আমরা কত মানবগোষ্ঠীকে ধ্বংস করেছি! তুমি কি তাদের মধ্যের একজনকেও দেখতে পাও অথবা তাদের থেকে গুনগুনানি শুনতে পাও?
And how many a generation have We destroyed before them! Do you see any one of them or hear a sound of them?
And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Canst thou (Muhammad) see a single man of them, or hear from them the slightest sound ?
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا
