Chapter 76, 31 verses
আল্লাহর নামে শুরু করছি, পরম করুণাময় পরম দয়ালু; মানুষের ওপর কি এমন এক সময় অতিক্রান্ত হয়নি, যখন সে উল্লেখযোগ্য কিছু ছিল না?
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered ?
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned?
هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُورًا
নিশ্চয়ই আমরা মানুষকে সৃষ্টি করেছি মিশ্রিত বীর্যবিন্দু থেকে, তাকে পরীক্ষা করার জন্য; অতঃপর আমরা তাকে শ্রবণশক্তিসম্পন্ন ও দৃষ্টিশক্তিসম্পন্ন করেছি।
Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing.
Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight.
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا
নিশ্চয়ই আমরা তাকে পথ দেখিয়েছি—সে হয় কৃতজ্ঞ, নয়তো অকৃতজ্ঞ।
Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving.
We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will).
إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا
নিশ্চয়ই আমরা অস্বীকারকারীদের জন্য প্রস্তুত করেছি শৃঙ্খল, বেড়ি ও জ্বলন্ত আগুন।
Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire.
For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire.
إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا
নিশ্চয়ই সৎকর্মপরায়ণরা পান করবে এমন এক পানপাত্র থেকে, যার মিশ্রণ হবে কর্পূরের মতন,
Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur,
As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur, -
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا
এক ঝর্ণা থেকে, যেখান থেকে আল্লাহর বান্দাগণ পান করবে; তারা তা প্রবাহিত করবে যেভাবে খুশি।
A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah drink, making it gush forth abundantly,
A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance.
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا
তারা প্রতিশ্রুতি পূর্ণ করে এবং সে দিনকে ভয় করে, যার অকল্যাণ হবে ব্যাপকভাবে বিস্তৃত।
(Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide - spreading,
They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide.
يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا
এবং নিজেদের আসক্তি সত্ত্বেও তারা খাদ্য দান করে অভাবগ্রস্ত, এতিম ও বন্দীকে।
And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him,
And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive, -
وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
“আমরা তো তোমাদের আহার করাই কেবল আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টির জন্য; আমরা তোমাদের নিকট থেকে কোনো প্রতিদান কিংবা কৃতজ্ঞতা চাই না।
(Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you;
(Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks.
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا
নিশ্চয়ই আমরা আমাদের প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ থেকে এক কঠিন ও ভীতিপ্রদ দিনের ভয় করি।”
Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate.
"We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord."
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا
অতঃপর তাদেরকে সে দিনের অনিষ্ট থেকে রক্ষা করবেন এবং তাদের দান করবেন দীপ্তি ও আনন্দ।
Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy;
But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy.
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا
এবং তাদের ধৈর্যের কারণে তাদের প্রতিদান দেবেন বেহেশত ও রেশমবস্ত্র।
And hath awarded them for all that they endured, a Garden and silk attire;
And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk.
وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا
তারা সেখানে সুসজ্জিত আসনের ওপর হেলান দিয়ে থাকবে; সেখানে তারা দেখবে না সূর্যের তাপ, না তীব্র শীত।
Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold.
Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold.
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا
এবং তার ছায়াসমূহ তাদের উপরে থাকবে, আর তার ফলসমূহ নাগালের মধ্যে এনে দেওয়া হবে।
The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down.
And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility.
وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا
এবং তাদের চারপাশে ঘুরে বেড়াবে রৌপ্যপাত্র ও স্বচ্ছ স্ফটিকের পেয়ালা
Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass
And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, -
وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠
রৌপ্যের স্ফটিক, যা তারা পরিমিতভাবে পূর্ণ করবে।
(Bright as) glass but (made) of silver, which they (themselves) have measured to the measure (of their deeds).
Crystal - clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes).
قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا
এবং সেখানে তাদের পান করানো হবে এমন এক পানপাত্র, যা হবে আদা মিশ্রিত,
There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil,
And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil, -
وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا
এক ঝর্ণা থেকে, যার নাম সেখানে ‘সালসাবীল’।
(The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil.
A fountain there, called Salsabil.
عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا
এবং তাদের চারপাশে ঘুরে বেড়াবে চিরস্থায়ী কিশোররা; তুমি যখন তাদের দেখবে, মনে হবে যেন তারা বিক্ষিপ্ত মুক্তা।
There wait on them immortal youths, whom, when thou seest, thou wouldst take for scattered pearls.
And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls.
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا
আর যখন তুমি সেখানে দেখবে, দেখতে পাবে সুখ-সম্ভার ও মহিমান্বিত রাজ্য।
When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate.
And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent.
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا
৭৬–২১ :
তাদের পরিধানে থাকবে সূক্ষ্ম সবুজ রেশম ও ঘন বস্ত্র; এবং তাদের অলংকৃত করা হবে রৌপ্য কংকণে; আর তাদের প্রতিপালক তাদের পান করাবেন পবিত্র পানীয়।
‘শরাবান - তহুরা’ /পবিত্রপানীয়
Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink.
Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy.
عَٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا
“নিশ্চয়ই এটি তোমাদের প্রতিদান, এবং তোমাদের প্রচেষ্টা স্বীকৃত হয়েছে।”
(And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance.
"Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised."
إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا
নিশ্চয়ই আমরা তোমার প্রতি ধাপে ধাপে এই কুরআন অবতীর্ণ করেছি।
Lo! We, even We, have revealed unto thee the Qur'an, a revelation;
It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to thee by stages.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا
অতএব তুমি তোমার প্রতিপালকের বিধানের প্রতি ধৈর্য ধারণ কর এবং তাদের কোনো পাপী কিংবা অবিশ্বাসীর অনুসরণ করো না।
So submit patiently to thy Lord's command, and obey not of them any guilty one or .
Therefore be patient with constancy to the Command of thy Lord, and hearken not to the sinner or the ingrate among them.
فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا
এবং সকাল ও সন্ধ্যায় তোমার প্রতিপালকের নাম স্মরণ কর।
Remember the name of thy Lord at morn and evening.
And celebrate the name of thy Lord morning and evening,
وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
এবং রাতের এক অংশে তাঁর প্রতি সিজদা কর এবং দীর্ঘ রাতে তাঁর পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা কর।
And worship Him (a portion) of the night. And glorify Him through the livelong night.
And part of the night, prostrate thyself to Him; and glorify Him a long night through.
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا
নিশ্চয়ই এরা পার্থিব জীবনকে ভালোবাসে এবং তাদের সামনে থাকা গুরুতর দিনকে উপেক্ষা করে।
Lo! these love fleeting life, and put behind them (the remembrance of) a grievous day.
As to these, they love the fleeting life, and put away behind them a Day (that will be) hard.
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا
আমরা তাদের সৃষ্টি করেছি এবং তাদের গঠনকে সুদৃঢ় করেছি; আর আমরা ইচ্ছা করলে তাদের পরিবর্তে তাদের সদৃশদের প্রতিস্থাপন করতে পারি।
We, even We, created them, and strengthened their frame. And when We will, We can replace them, bringing others like them in their stead.
It is We Who created them, and We have made their joints strong; but, when We will, We can substitute the like of them by a complete change.
نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا
নিশ্চয়ই এটি একটি উপদেশ; অতএব যে ইচ্ছা করে, সে তার প্রতিপালকের দিকে পথ গ্রহণ করুক।
Lo! this is an Admonishment, that whosoever will may choose a way unto his Lord.
This is an admonition: Whosoever will, let him take a (straight) Path to his Lord.
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا
আর তোমরা ইচ্ছা করবে না, যদি না ইচ্ছা করেন। নিশ্চয়ই সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Yet ye will not, unless Allah willeth. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise.
But ye will not, except as Allah wills; for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা করেন তাকে তাঁর রহমতে প্রবেশ করান; আর সীমালঙ্ঘনকারীদের জন্য তিনি প্রস্তুত করেছেন যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।
He maketh whom He will to enter His mercy, and for evil - doers hath prepared a painful doom.
He will admit to His Mercy whom He will; But the wrong - doers, - for them has He prepared a grievous Penalty.
يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ وَٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا
