আল শামস (সূর্য)

1 I swear by the sun and its brilliance,

1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. By the sun and his brightness,

2 And the moon when it follows the sun,

2 And the moon when she followeth him,

3 And the day when it shows it,

3 And the day when it revealeth him,

4 And the night when it draws a veil over it,

4 And the night when it enshroudeth him,

5 And the heaven and Him Who made it,

5 And the heaven and Him Who built it,

6 And the earth and Him Who extended it,

6 And the earth and Him Who spread it,

7 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect,

7 And a soul and Him Who perfected it

8 Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it;

8 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it.

9 He will indeed be successful who purifies it,

9 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow,

10 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it.

10 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it.

11 Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy,

11 (The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride,

12 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with

12 When the basest of them broke forth

13 So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she - camel, and (give) her (to) drink.

13 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she - camel of Allah, so let her drink!

14 But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground).

14 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings).

15 And He fears not its consequence.

15 He dreadeth not the sequel (of events).
