Chapter 72, 28 verses

সমকালীন বাংলা
র নামে শুরু করছি, পরম করুণাময় পরম দয়ালু;বলো, আমার প্রতি ওহী করা হয়েছে যে, জিনদের একদল মনোযোগ দিয়ে শুনেছিল, অতঃপর তারা বলেছিল, “নিশ্চয়ই আমরা এক বিস্ময়কর কুরআন শুনেছি,"
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinn listened (to this Qur'an). They said: 'Verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Qur'an)!

যা সঠিক পথের দিকে পরিচালিত করে; ফলে আমরা এতে ঈমান এনেছি, এবং আমরা কখনোই আমাদের প্রতিপালকের সাথে কাউকে শরীক করব না।
Transliteration
Yahdee ila alrrushdi faamanna bihi walan nushrika birabbina ahadan

'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah).
সমকালীন বাংলা
এবং আমাদের প্রতিপালকের মর্যাদা সমুন্নত; তিনি কোনো সঙ্গিনী গ্রহণ করেননি এবং কোনো সন্তানও গ্রহণ করেননি।
Transliteration
Waannahu taAAala jaddu rabbina ma ittakhatha sahibatan wala waladan

'And He, exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, has taken neither a wife nor a son (or offspring or children).
সমকালীন বাংলা
এবং আমাদের মধ্যের নির্বোধেরা সম্পর্কে সীমালঙ্ঘনমূলক কথা বলত।
Transliteration
Waannahu kana yaqoolu safeehuna AAala Allahi shatatan

'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinn] used to utter against Allah that which was an enormity in falsehood.
সমকালীন বাংলা
আর আমরা ধারণা করেছিলাম যে মানুষ ও জিন কখনোই সম্পর্কে মিথ্যা বলবে না।
Transliteration
Waannathananna an lan taqoola alinsu waaljinnu AAala Allahi kathiban

'And verily, we thought that men and jinn would not utter a lie against Allah.
সমকালীন বাংলা
এবং মানুষের মধ্য থেকে কিছু লোক কিছু জিনদের আশ্রয় চাইত; ফলে তারা মানুষের অবাধ্যতা বৃদ্ধি করত।
Transliteration
Waannahu kana rijalun mina alinsi yaAAoothoona birijalin mina aljinni fazadoohum rahaqan

'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and transgression.
সমকালীন বাংলা
এবং তারা ধারণা করেছিল, যেমন তোমরা ধারণা করেছিলে, যে কাউকে পুনরুত্থিত করবেন না।
Transliteration
Waannahum thannoo kamathanantum an lan yabAAatha Allahu ahadan

'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinn).
সমকালীন বাংলা
এবং আমরা আকাশ অনুসন্ধান করেছিলাম; অতঃপর আমরা তা পেলাম কঠোর প্রহরা ও উল্কাপিণ্ডে পরিপূর্ণ।
'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Qur'an), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in the punishment for his sins.

এবং আমাদের মধ্যে কেউ আত্মসমর্পণকারী, আর কেউ সত্যচ্যুত; অতঃপর যারা আত্মসমর্পণ করেছে, তারাই সত্যপথ বেছে নিয়েছে।
Note
এবং আমাদের মধ্যে কেউ মুসলিম, আর কেউ সত্যচ্যুত; অতঃপর যারা ইসলাম গ্রহণ করেছে, তারাই সত্যপথ বেছে নিয়েছে।
Transliteration
Waanna minna almuslimoona waminna alqasitoona faman aslama faolaika taharraw rashadan

'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Qur'an), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers - those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path."

আর যারা সত্যচ্যুত, তারা জাহান্নামের জন্য জ্বালানি হবে।
Transliteration
Waama alqasitoona fakanoo lijahannama hataban
Hilali & Muhsin Khan
And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell,

আর যদি তারা সেই পথে অবিচল থাকত, তবে অবশ্যই আমরা তাদেরকে প্রচুর পানি পান করাতাম,
Transliteration
Waallawi istaqamoo AAala alttareeqati laasqaynahum maan ghadaqan

If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islam) We would surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance.
সমকালীন বাংলা
যাতে আমরা তাদেরকে এর মাধ্যমে পরীক্ষা করি; আর যে তার প্রতিপালকের স্মরণ থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, তিনি তাকে ক্রমবর্ধমান কঠিন শাস্তিতে প্রবেশ করাবেন।
That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Qur'an, - and practise not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell).
সমকালীন বাংলা
এবং মসজিদসমূহ আল্লাহর জন্য; অতএব আল্লাহর সাথে কাউকে ডেকো না।
Transliteration
Waanna almasajida lillahi fala tadAAoo maAAa Allahi ahadan

And the mosques are for Allah (Alone): so invoke not anyone along with Allah.
সমকালীন বাংলা
এবং যখন আল্লাহর বান্দা তাঁকে ডাকার জন্য দাঁড়িয়েছিল, তখন তারা তার চারপাশে প্রায় ভিড় করে ফেলেছিল।
And when the slave of Allah (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) stood up invoking Him (his Lord - Allah) in prayer they (the jinn) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation).

বলো, আমি কেবল আমার প্রতিপালককেই আহ্বান করি এবং তাঁর সাথে কাউকে শরীক করি না।
Transliteration
Qul innama adAAoo rabbee wala oshriku bihi ahadan

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I invoke only my Lord (Allah Alone), and I associate none as partners along with Him."

বলো, আমি তোমাদের জন্য কোনো ক্ষতি বা সঠিক পথের মালিক নই।
Transliteration
Qul innee la amliku lakum darran wala rashadan

Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to the Right Path."

বলো, "নিশ্চয়ই থেকে আমাকে কেউ রক্ষা করতে পারবে না, এবং আমি তাঁকে ছাড়া কোনো আশ্রয় পাব না।
Transliteration
Qul innee lan yujeeranee mina Allahi ahadun walan ajida min doonihi multahadan

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "None can protect me from Allah's punishment (if I were to disobey Him), nor can I find refuge except in Him.
সমকালীন বাংলা
কেবল আল্লাহর পক্ষ হইতে পৌঁছান এবং তাঁহার বাণী প্রচারই আমার দায়িত্ব।" যাহারা আল্লাহর ও তাঁহার রাসূলকে অমান্য করে তাহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে জাহান্নামের অগ্নি, সেখানে তাহারা চিরস্থায়ী হইবে।
Transliteration
Illa balaghan mina Allahi warisalatihi waman yaAAsi Allaha warasoolahu fainna lahu nara jahannama khalideena feeha abadan

"(Mine is) but conveyance (of the truth) from Allah and His Messages (of Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then Verily, for him is the Fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever."
সমকালীন বাংলা
যখন তারা তা দেখবে, যার প্রতিশ্রুতি তাদেরকে দেওয়া হচ্ছে, তখন তারা জানতে পারবে কার সাহায্যকারী দুর্বলতর এবং কার সংখ্যা কম।
Transliteration
Hatta itha raaw ma yooAAadoona fasayaAAlamoona man adAAafu nasiran waaqallu AAadadan

Till, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who it is that is weaker concerning helpers and less important concerning numbers.
সমকালীন বাংলা
বলো, আমি জানি না নিকটবর্তী কি, তোমাদেরকে যার প্রতিশ্রুতি দেওয়া হচ্ছে তা নিকটবর্তী কি না, অথবা আমার প্রতিপালক তার জন্য দীর্ঘ সময় নির্ধারণ করেছেন।
Transliteration
Qul in adree aqareebun ma tooAAadoona am yajAAalu lahu rabbee amadan

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I know not whether (the punishment) which you are promised is near or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term.

তিনি অদৃশ্যের জ্ঞানী; অতএব তিনি তাঁর বিষয়ে কাউকে অবহিত করেন না,
Transliteration
AAalimu alghaybi fala yuthhiru AAala ghaybihi ahadan

"(He Alone is) the All-Knower of the Ghaib (Unseen), and He reveals to none His Ghaib (Unseen)."
সমকালীন বাংলা
তবে কোনো রসূলকে ব্যতীত, যাকে তিনি মনোনীত করেন। তখন তিনি তার সামনে ও পেছনে প্রহরা নিয়োজিত করেন,
Transliteration
Illa mani irtada min rasoolin fainnahu yasluku min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi rasadan

Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him.
সমকালীন বাংলা
যাতে তিনি জেনে নেন যে তারা তাদের প্রতিপালকের বার্তাসমূহ পৌঁছে দিয়েছে। আর তাদের কাছে যা আছে তা তিনি পরিবেষ্টন করে রেখেছেন, এবং তিনি সবকিছুকে সংখ্যায় গণনা করেছেন।
Transliteration
LiyaAAlama an qad ablaghoo risalati rabbihim waahata bima ladayhim waahsa kulla shayin AAadadan

[He (Allah) protects them (the Messengers)], till He sees that they (the Messengers) have conveyed the Messages of their Lord (Allah). And He (Allah) surrounds all that which is with them, and He (Allah) keeps count of all things (i.e. He knows the exact number of everything).
